Jurassic world ObiAniDala Au with

Padmè as the Park handler (CEO?). She handles the business end of things, she's the reason the park still runs. You can find Ms.Amidala ruthlessly shutting down assholes who knock at her door wanting to exploit the park for more money by cutting corners. She's amazing at her job.

At the top of all the paperwork, She's made sure the park is for the people to enjoy safely. She once chewed out a whole team of architects who wanted more va va voom enclosures that were pretty but would've ultimately been useless in containing the very huge T.Rex.

Followed by; Dino Scientist/board member ObiWan kenobi. He's got like 6 degrees , he's here to study the dinosaurs' behaviour. You can find Dr.Kenobi with a clipboard in his hand walking after one dino or the other without any care for the world. All the dinos love him, even the predators.

His face is the first thing they see when they hatch cus he's made an effort to show up for every hatching. Instant bonding tbh. Dude hangs out with the t.rex with 0 repercussions (like being eaten ya kno, nobody knows how he does it). Obiwan is also absolutely amazing at securing funding for the park from rich senators. Padmè greatly appreciates his work cus if she has to deal one more time with Clovis she's going to scream.

And finally. Trainer?Park Ranger? Mechanic? Engineer? Anakin Skywalker. Nobody really knows what his official designation is at the park. All they know is that one day this golden retriever looking guy showed up with like. 10 different qualification certificates and a dab hand at handling the dinos.

He's good at what he does tho so people leave him alone. An officer sent by the military once tried to bully anakin and quickly finds out that not only does anakin have a mean right hook, he's also high enough in the park food chain that the coruscant military is barred from trying to propose any deals after the incident.

He's got an entire creche/enrichment setup for the vulnerable babies that no one had thought of. It cut down the mortality rate of the babies by a huge amount. Its also how he won Obi-wan's heart, who until then had totally thought anakin was just some dudebro who didn't understand dinos. Anyway somewhere along the line, very intense eye-contact, a little bit of misunderstanding and a whole lot of kisses stolen when padmè is on an important holoconferance call and hand holding with obi-wan during the hatchings, Anakin woos them both.

They have late night dates at the elasmosaurus enclosure, bond over almost punching Clovis, and oh my god don't you get a heart attack when obi-wan around with little predator babies in a papoose??

Rumours have it that he was seen begging Ms.Amidala for just one (1) chance 🥺on his knees when she was meeting with Dr.Kenobi.

The door closed after that so no one really knows what Anakin was really begging for (it was so he could take an apprentice. Anakin thinks he can get away with it now because he knows obi-wan and padmè love him eheh)

Anakin’s really out there trying to make a poly triangle work (the sort where he's the one in the middle and the other two are Not Together) while having zero clue that he's trying for a poly thing at all... and neither of the two people he's in a poly thing with realize that's what's happening..........

I feel like couples counseling au anakin would very much not enjoy a poly triangle thing if it were to happen because the way I’m writing him and his relationship with obi-wan, Anakin would be very dissatisfied during any romantic time he isn’t spending with Obi-Wan.

The moments he’s spent with Padmé in the fic so far, at least half if not 75% of his attention is focused on his master even when the guy isn’t even there. It’s only gonna get worse from there—I think in his head if he thought about it briefly, he would like to be in a relationship with both Padmé and Obi-Wan.

But the fic progression and conclusion does hinge on anakin realizing that he actually does not want to be in a relationship with the both of them. He wants to just be with one of them and that person is his master.

POLITICAL ANMALS : CHAPTER 3

Anakin heads to Lower Coruscant track down Watto as requested by Padme. Using his knowledge of the region and people from growing up there, he's able to locate Watto at his junk shop in Mos Espa.

However, Watto is initially hesitant to share any information, distrustful of outsiders. Anakin will have to use his persuasive abilities to gain Watto's confidence. He may have to reveal personal details about his past to build a connection.

“Anakin–” “Yeah?” “Do you, by any chance, want to fuck my wife?” Obi-Wan doesn’t even look up from his phone as he says it, in the same, mildly disinterested tone he uses for instructions like ‘Take the next exit’ or ‘Let's start with his ring finger’ so that it takes a moment for Anakin to register the question. Then he does and it’s only the fact his reflexes have been honed by years of drag racing that keeps him from crashing the car immediately. Oh god. Oh shit. This is it. This is how he dies.

DAY ONE: CANON DIVERGENCE

Note: This is not complete or ready for prime time, and its a premise I said I'd never write. But ... *shrugs* I'm writing on the fly to make the cut off. So here have a tumblr snippet anyway. Hopefully more to come as the week goes on.

Prodigal (part i)

“Come away with me,” Padme says and for a moment the fog clears. 

“Yes.”  Anakin agrees and for a moment everything seems possible. 

They find Obi-Wan waiting for them in the pilot’s seat of Padme’s star skiff. Face solemn, eyes tired, lightsaber unlit but in hand and for a moment they all just stare at each other.

“So,” Obi-Wan finally says, “What now?”

“Where do you propose to go?” Obi-Wan inquires with quiet contempt when they find themselves alone in the cockpit after Anakin has passed out in the bunk. 

Padme bristles a little. But only a little.  Honestly, she’s too tired to fight. Too tired to pretend she doesn’t doubt her decision with every breath. But it is hers and she has made it. No turning back now. 

“I don’t know,” she admits and something in Obi-Wan’s face softens. 

“We’ll figure it out.”

“You don’t have to come.”

Obi-Wan just closes his eyes.  “Where else would I go?”

She doesn’t have an answer for that.

They make it less than a week before, without warning or preamble, Anakin finally gives voice to the thing that’s been hanging over them since the moment they walked back up the gangplank. “You came to kill me, didn’t you?”

Across the canteen, Padme stiffens. 

Obi-Wan sets down his tea, runs a thoughtful finger along the rim before answering.

“Yes.”

“Yes, what?”

“Yes.  I came to kill you.”

Padme sucks in a sharp shocked breath and presses her hand to her mouth.

Anakin barely flinches.  Just studies him with dead eyes.  He’s obviously worked this all out days ago.

“Do you still want to?”

“I never wanted to.”

“But you would have.”  It’s not actually a question.

“I don’t know.” Obi-Wan admits and he can’t tell whether the acid guilt he feels eating away from inside is because he thinks he would have or because he didn’t.

“I don’t want him here.”  Anakin says that evening when they’re alone in the bunk room.

Padme doesn’t look up from the star map she’s been studying. “That’s not your choice to make.”

“We don’t need him.”

“I need him.”

“For what?” he retorts, not bothering to hide the suspicion and jealousy that have been eating him alive since he found his master on his wife’s ship.

That gets her to look at him, and he immediately wishes she hadn’t.  He doesn’t recognize the woman across from him. Can’t find his angel anywhere in the broken, jagged pieces that are that remain of his wife.  He did that, he knows.  He broke her.  Smashed her. This is his fault.  So why does he resent it?  The way it hurts to have her look at him.  How her eyes cut him open, show him the worst parts of himself reflected back at him in the fragments of her gaze, until he has to look away. 

Padme says nothing and goes back to the star map and the seemingly ever present question of “where next?” that plagues their lives now.  Each of them hunted for entirely different reasons. What would be shelter for one, a death sentence for another. 

He tries again.

“I’d never let anything happen to you.  You know that right?”  Gently he reaches out to put a hand on her belly, spreading his fingers over the swell of life inside, feeling a small flicker of hope when her hand moves instinctively to his.  “Padme, I’ll do whatever it takes to keep you safe.”

There’s a surge of revulsion in the Force so powerful it makes Anakin almost physically ill, and Padme shifts his hand away. 

“What do you think I need Obi-Wan around for?”

Day 2: Disney Film Au

Practically perfect people never permit sentiment to muddle their thinking.

Yet, when the wind changes and Obi-Wan realises he must truly leave the Skywalkers, he struggles to keep his composure.

He stands on the doorstep of their home for a moment, watching as Anakin brings the twins the kite he fixed and they join the other families playing on the street. The twins laugh as they watch their kite soar in the wind, while their parents hug and watch them with mirroring smiles. Padmé has her head on Anakin's shoulder and she finally seems to be at peace. When Anakin turn to leave a kiss on the top of her head, Obi-Wan knows it's time for him to go.

He will never forget the weeks he spent with them, helping Luke and Leia find magic in everyday life, beyond the duties their parents imposed on them, and showing Anakin and Padmé discover the importance of life beyond work and rekindle their marriage. He will always cherish the days he spent with the twins and the evenings he spent with their parents. But now, he must go. There will be other families, other children and parents who need his help, even though the Skywalkers will always hold a more special place in his heart.

As he opens his umbrella and the wind starts to carry him up and away, he smiles down at the happy family and hopes that they will remember him as well.

it's that time of the year where i get to ask you what were your fave obikin fics of the year? preferably lesser known ones

Finally have time to answer this!! I’m pretty new to Obikin/Star Wars (got into it in June) so I’m not actually sure how popular my favorites are, but I’m happy to share. I also don’t read a lot of fic (I basically read what people send me lol, with the exception of the first two all of these were recs. So this is to say feel free to send me stuff haha). In no particular order:

Come Down from Your Holy Mountain by jotunblood | 100k+ canon divergence post-Mustafar AU where Obi-Wan saves anakin | Putting this one first because it’s what got me into the ship! I’d kind of poked around ao3 a while before finding this one and it scratched the first itch of what I was looking for from the dynamic, especially since I came here from doomed disciple shizunfucking danmei. Love the characterization, great plot, and I enjoyed the way it handled Anakin’s redemption arc and his subsequent relationship with Obi-Wan.

From the Ashes by msestora | 100k+ canon divergence AU where Anakin makes the decision to ignore Obi-Wan and jump after Padmé when she falls in AOTC | waves at author hiiiiiiii. Anyways this one made me freak out. It feels like I could have picked this up off the shelf of Star Wars books in an alternate reality bookstore where obikin was a canon part of the franchise. It’s like the platonic ideal of the kind of fic I look for. Long canon divergence that integrates the books both content wise and stylistically. It’s from like ~2010ish and has some really compelling characterization and an even better plot that reworks a lot of legends book events through an obikin lens, and is also MULTI POV!! Which I am a sucker for. Also opened my eyes to the potential dynamic between Padmé and Finis Valorum, which I love, and Padmé and Anakin’s relationship is really a major highlight. Also has like my favorite ever Mace-Anakin interaction I’ve read in a fic lol. It’s so funny.

Amarilli by Graciously | 14k oneshot | my favorite confession fic ever. it’s so good and, like, exactly how I would see this going down. Lots of Obi-Wan spiraling out of guilt. Definitely a tastemaker for me in a lot of ways.

five times Anakin reached out for Obi-Wan and one time Obi-Wan reached out for him by ineffable_snowman | 6k oneshot | MY ABSOLUTE FAV GEN FIC FOR THEM!! It’s so heartwarming and feels so true to their dynamic. Also Obi-Wan being bad at hugs is so real to me forever and it’s so cute in this fic lol

Between by Throwthemflowers | 4.2k oneshot | ALSO A HUGE TASTEMAKER FOR ME!! And while I’m not sure if this is what the author intended it kind of what solidified my “obianidala only works if it’s a v shape anakin sandwich” agenda. Basically it’s Obi-Wan finding out about Anakin being married, having a crisis, and confessing.

Rising crimelord known as The Negotiator has been running the scene in Coruscant for three years and the police can’t catch him. Freshly promoted detective Anakin Skywalker gets tasked with infiltrating the nightclub ‘Bejeweled’, run by one infamous Obi-Wan Kenobi in the hopes that he finds incrimanating proof against him. There he meets Amidala, the club’s shinning star and main attraction. Amidala captivates all people who visit the club and Anakin is no exception. Soon, he’s hired to be the piano player but ends up becoming much more than that, caught up in a web his years in training did not prepare him for.

Obianidala AU where a married and very-much-still-honeymooning Anidala comes to hiking guide Obi-Wan to enjoy some nature and camping activities. Anakin knew of Obi-Wan because he had hiked with him once before he met Padmé, and loved the experience so much he recommended it to his wife, who works as a civil servant. (He got too busy looking for jobs as a mechanic in the city to come back.)

Cue single and aging Obi-Wan who enjoys being alone for most of his life having to guide a very attractive and very horny young couple through the woods, now with one of them not being able to stop talking about how much he cherished his previous hike with him and how nature is so fresh, secluded and "virile" ("Are you sure that's the word you're looking for, Anakin?") and Obi-Wan trying his best to teach them both safety & caution in the woods while they're clearly climbing all over each other and getting handsy and sometimes looking at him with glassy, hungry eyes when they're necking each other...

Basically Anakin would not shut up about this hot hiking guide he met once that he really wants his wife to see, and once Padmé is impressed they make it their mission to seduce this lonely old man as hard as they can by audaciously trying to fuck in the woods in the hopes of getting him into a threesome in a tent by the campfire.

also I do have to add, I'm surprised you don't go for obianidala/anidala just because you write anakin and padmé together very well! Admittedly with an obvious side of it not lasting. but still written super talentedly regardless!

hello hello there IS a holiday couples counseling au story - it's a part of my holiday stories collection on ao3! here is the link, though to warn you, this takes place in a nebulous time further into the story that we haven't gotten to yet. in the author's note, i linked the story on a03 and the link to the tumblr tag, where there are more short ficlets and answered asks about the story!

also aww i'm glad you enjoy my take on anidala - thank you for saying i can write it well! i don't think i would ever actually write it or obianidala, that's just not me. when i write the pairing, i spend way too much time emphasizing all the problems they have and how incompatible they are and how their break-up is inevitable, and that's pretty much my thoughts on the ship (i'm sorry to multishippers on my blog!!) but i do try really hard to write padmé as a whole character though, not just a stepping stone to get to obikin and maybe that's why it comes off as being written well? i don't really like fics where padmé's only there to get in the way of the end-ship and i also don't like fics where she gracefully steps aside so that obi-wan and anakin can be together, so many of my stories that feature anidala on some level (couples counseling, a more perfect union) take a look at all the flaws in their relationship but also the flaws in both her and anakin. for me, it makes her feel like a more rounded character, and maybe it comes across as a fleshed out relationship that could possibly survive if not for- (enter obi-wan, stage left)
