☕💖 Can I Get Your Number? ☕💖 Ch 3
Jason Todd x Chubby! Reader (fem)
written with a female reader in mind, first person pov, no use of Y/N, fluffy, mild angst, will probably get NSFW later, let me know if there's anything else I should tag this with!
warnings: reader character dealing with anxiety from previous chapter (non-descriptive),hinted at trauma from fatphobia, hints of Jason's self esteem and body image issues, otherwise it's fluff central
word count: 2.2k (oops? 😅)
Chapter Selection
Ding!
I looked over at my phone, briefly considering not picking it up. When I got through my front door I had ripped my jeans off, suddenly hating everything touching me. I showered, scrubbing the night off until my skin was raw and tingling, and now I was curled up on my bed sheets, having a good cry. I didn't really want to talk to anyone right now…
Ding! Ding! … Ding!
God, whoever it was was insistent though … I sighed softly and picked it up, checking the messages:
Jason: Good morning! I am so sorry for the sudden disappearance - my phone broke on my way to visit my brother!
3:15am
Jason: Just got back into town, so I've finally got the sim card in an old one for now.
3:17am
Jason: I feel bad, I owe you a week of good mornings! 😭
3:17am
Jason: And sorry for spamming you - I just didn't want you to think the worst for a second longer than necessary…
3:18am
I stared at the screen for a long while. Jason was back … just like Red Hood said. Huh…
Me: Don't worry about it, shit happens!
3:40am
Jason: … What are you still doing up?
3:41am
I briefly considered telling him everything. Maybe it would feel good to tell someone … or maybe it would feel even worse. We didn't really know each other yet, who knew how he would react? Nausea gripped my stomach and I shook my head, taking a few deep breaths before replying.
Me: Just got home is all. Picked up a late shift tonight.
3:50am
Jason: That's a hell of a late shift, that must have sucked!
3:52am
Me: … Yeah, honestly it wasn't great… 😔
3:53am
Jason: What are you doing tomorrow?
3:54am
Me: Nothing in particular, y?
3:56am
Jason: That settles it then! No more excuses, come hell or high water I will see you tomorrow!
3:56am
I stared at the screen, not sure how to feel about that idea. I did want to see him again, but I also really just wanted to sleep for 48 hours straight…
Jason: Seriously, name a time and place. We'll do anything you want! 😁
3:59am
Me: You don't have to do that, Jason - you just got back! Don't you need to work?
4:00am
Jason: Nope! We came back a day early, so I am all yours!
4:02am
Me: … All mine, huh? 😏
4:05am
Jason: 100%! Anything you want, name it!
4:06am
Me: … Gotham City Mall, meet in front of the bookstore at … say 4?
4:08am
Jason: Perfect, see you in 12 hours! Good night
4:08am
Me: Good night Jason
4:09am
I was exhausted, but couldn't seem to sleep. I was still coming down from the anxiety and adrenaline from being attacked, and now I was also nervous and tentatively excited about seeing Jason. This was the step that usually proved someone was playing games with me. I sighed softly, sliding a hand down my soft tummy. I didn't mind the way I was shaped, but other people sure had a way of making it seem like the end of the world… I silently begged the universe; let this one be good. No more games, let it be real this time…
When I finally did sleep, my dreams were filled with red. Blood all over the pavement, staining everything. Red chrome staring me down as I cried. Large hands, so gentle against my cheeks, pulling me against a warm, broad chest…
I woke with a start and peered over at my discarded clothes in a heap from the night before. Red Hood's flannel peaked out from under my ruined pants, taunting me; I was about to go on a date and I was dreaming about another man? A man I was surely never going to see again no less? That's real healthy, well done Brain.
I stepped over the clothes on the floor, not wanting to deal with the mess left over from last night, and selected a cute but comfortable outfit. I ate a quick breakfast, spent longer than I'd care to admit on my hair and makeup, and headed downstairs to catch the bus to the mall.
My anxiety grew as I approached the front doors. Its a trick, it must be a trick. The cold air conditioning hit me in the face, a welcome respite from the summer heat, and I made my way toward the bookstore. He's a hottie, and really sweet. Or at least knows how to play sweet. He's definitely not actually interested. I could see the sign for the bookstore on the other side of the mall. And he's a Wayne too! What could a Wayne want with me?? … Oh god, I threatened them, didn't I? I told the little one I'd stab them if they came back to the table. Why did I say that???
I blinked a bit, pausing. That was him, leaned against the wall right next to the bookstore. He had actually shown up. I watched him scroll on his phone for a minute before looking up and scanning the crowd. When his eyes landed on me I continued walking toward him. He pocketed his phone, kicked off the wall, and walked over to meet me, a little grin lighting up his face.
“You're actually here…” the words left my mouth before I could reconsider, my disbelief apparent in my tone. Jason looked a bit confused at that, awkwardly rubbing the back of his head.
“Well, yeah? … You said 4, right?”
“Sorry! Yes, I said 4. I just … I honestly wasn't sure this was … real…”
“Why wouldn't it be real?”
I blushed a bit, clearing my throat slightly; “n- never mind! Sorry, I had a weird week; my brain hasn't fully caught up.”
He nodded a little, smiling gently. “Well, I hope it's getting better at least.”
I nodded. “Yeah, it is. Thanks. … So, what should we do?”
“Like I said last night; anything you want.”
“Well, … we're right here, do you want to start at the bookstore?”
He nodded and fell into step beside me, smiling gently. I could feel his eyes on me as I walked into the store, browsing the aisles. It was odd how comfortable this was; he was a good half foot taller than me, and at least 200 pounds of pure muscle. If his arms and cheek were any gauge he was absolutely covered in old scars, and he had a bandage on one forearm so whatever gave him the scars probably wasn't confined to the past.
I should be terrified - everything about my upbringing told me this was a dangerous situation to be in. But when I saw the look in his eyes, like I was the most interesting thing in the world, all of my self-defense training fell out of my head. The voices urging me to get to safety quieted, all my instincts stilled, and there was peace. His eyes were so beautiful…
“... Is there something on my face?” He blushed a bit, chuckling awkwardly.
I blinked, looking away. “Sorry! I wasn't staring, I just …”
“... Did you want to ask about this?” he pointed to the scar on his cheek.
“Huh? No! I have a policy of not asking people about stuff like that; you'll tell me or not on your own time. No, I just … I like your eyes is all …’’ I blushed brightly, staring at but not reading the back cover of a book.
“... My eyes?” I nodded, still pretending to read the back cover. “... You're really not going to ask about my scars?”
“Unless you want to talk about them, it's not any of my business.”
“... You're a very unusual girl.”
“Because I'm not going to pry about something you may or may not want to talk about, particularly on a first date?”
“Well, they're usually the first thing anyone wants to talk to me about. If they don't avoid me in the first place…”
I frowned a bit at that. If we met under any other circumstances, I would have taken one look at him and ducked my head to avoid an interaction. “... People suck…”
“It's not their fault; I'm intimidating…” I cautiously looked over at him. He was also staring at a book cover, a pensive little frown on his face.
“... I don't think you're intimidating.”
His eyes darted over and back to the book, and the corner of his mouth curled up ever so slightly. “... Thanks.”
I nodded, setting the book down. “.... So …”
“So? …”
“... Play a game?”
He chuckled, looking over at me. “A game?”
I nodded. “You tell me some of your favorite things in books, I'll tell you some of mine. We separate, select a few of our favorites that the other might like, and reconvene.”
“Alright. Is there a way to win this game?”
“Well I assume we'll each pick at least one book the other hasn't read, so we'll get to make each other read at least one of our favorites. That sounds like a win to me.”
He chuckled. “Alright. Meet back up at those comfy chairs in the back?”
I nodded, telling him some of my favorite tropes, genres, and settings. He did the same, and we darted in opposite directions. He beat me back there, but I eventually approached with a small stack, falling into the seat next to him.
He gestured toward my books; “ladies first.”
I tucked my feet under me, passing him each book in turn and making a case for it. He took each one, read the back cover, and listened intently. He had read one of them, and I figured he'd pick one of the others, if that, but he insisted he was going to get them all. When it was his turn, I wasn't entirely sure what to expect, but Pride and Prejudice wasn't the first thing that came to mind.
“I've seen a few movie adaptations, but I haven't gotten around to reading it.” I smiled softly, taking the book. It was a beautiful blue cover with swirling calligraphy font in gold.
“An unparalleled tragedy - I insist this is the one you're taking home!” I giggled at his determined tone and nodded.
“Yes, sir!” I made a little mock salute, trying not to smirk at the sudden wave of pink overtaking his face. “... Well, what else do you have for me?”
He cleared his throat awkwardly, looking at the books in his hands. “Ah, um …”
One by one he passed me Hamlet, the Three Musketeers, a book of Greek myths, and … a trashy romance?
“... Not gonna lie, this is an unexpected choice.” I read the back. It looked like your typical bodice ripper.
He chuckled, blushing a bit. “Look, it was the only book I had access to one day and I was losing my mind with boredom. But if you give it a chance, it's actually really well written, and the love interest isn't one of those creepy possessive guys the genre is known for, so …”
I nodded, taking a picture of the book covers. “I will give it a chance then!”
“... Why are you taking a picture of them?”
“... To get later? I'll start with this one, since you were so determined that I read it.” I held up Pride and Prejudice. Jason gathered up the others, putting them on his stack, then gently took Pride and Prejudice from me as well.
“Or I could just get them for you.”
“What? Jason, no. I mean, that’s really sweet of you, but that's way too much!” Between the books he'd picked out for me and the ones I'd selected for him, he was holding at least $200 in his hands. And he'd picked the pretty hardcovers too!
He shook his head. “I've had to cancel on you at least 5 times, and then I disappeared with no warning. You have been incredibly patient and understanding, and I will make today worth it.”
I blushed brightly, a bit surprised. “Jason, … you're worth waiting for. I enjoy talking to you, you don't have to spend money on me for today to be worth my time.”
He looked away uncomfortably, bright red, holding the stack of books to his chest. “... I … I like talking to you too … just let me do this, yeah? Call it a first date splurge.”
“... Alright, if you're sure. But I don't want you making a habit of this.”
He nodded, smiling softly. “Don't worry; I know you're a strong, independent woman.”
I nodded once, chuckling. “Damn right.”
Jason grinned, god he had an infectious grin, and led me to stand in line together. He held the stack of books in one hand, and we chatted a bit more while we waited for our turn. I was looking at a selection of little plushies in the impulse items when I felt something brush ever so slightly against my finger. I looked down; his trembling hand was next to mine, his pinky slightly extended toward me. I chuckled softly, extending mine toward him, and gently linked our fingers together. He stiffened ever so slightly before relaxing into it, gently squeezing back.

I finished up TTYD Remake on Wednesday. Beat the last secret boss and wow what a game! It feels so nice to come back to TTYD after all these years! (But with QoL changes and other new stuff, of course!) Like, a lot of love was put into this game and I believe that this is the best way to play TTYD! Also, I'm really surprise at how I played TTYD this time! I mainly focused on BP. I got damn near 90 BP in this run! And I don't normally do that because of how nervous I get with HP that's under 50. (Same goes for FP) Also I hit B List star before getting to Chapter 2 because I wanted the strange sack early . I usually hit B list star during Chapter 3. Yeah, I was a bit over powered lol! It was so bad that when I equipped the Bump Attack badge during the last chapter, some enemies just dead! XD
Yeah, too much power and a bit of luck from that Dark Wizzard dropping me my third Power Plus P badge for this final badge setup. Honestly I didn't even need the mega rush, last stand, power rush or close call badges during the last secret boss. I was just a bit paranoid. Then again I don't know if it was RNG since that boss only healed once during my second attempt. Then after that it was smooth sailing. Oh and thanks for that new try again option! It's another good QoL change! (Thought I had to get back to floor 100 again after dying!) I can go on about this game, from the new QoL changes, the new music, the textures, the new expressions! the two new bosses. This game really put a smile on my face. Just smiles all around! :D One of those new bosses is the current holder of the title for my favorite theme in the game! What else?... Oh! little Pyro (Yoshi) is my goat! Carried me so hard in most fights. I was out of practice with the power bounces, so he was the next best thing! (And his stampede attack was very good too! Was spamming it on the final boss lol!) Vivian, Koops, Ms. Mowz and Bobbery help out a lot too! Especially in the Pit of 100 trials! I kept leaving because I got nervous at the lower floors. It was probably for the better since I didn't have my partners ultra ranked yet. Good thing I waited! Especially since I ran into to some amazee dayzees. And I enjoyed charging Vivian to 99+ to punch the hell out of her bitchy sister! (Happy Pride Month!) Okay, now that I'm done with TTYD Remake, the next game that I'm gonna tackle before Dawntrail will be SMTV: Vengeance! Which, literally comes out next week! I'm really hoping that this version of the game will be better and I enjoy it. The vanilla game felt unfinished and just overall meh. I really wanna like this game so we'll see how things go next week!

Quick Thoughts on Canto 5
Okay, just finished up Canto 5's latest stage and I've gotta' say this is probably gonna' be one of the better chapters if it keeps going the way it's going. On the tierlist I'd put it between the beginning of Sinclair's chapter and Gregor's in terms of introductions. Now whether this is going to drag as much as Yi Sang's chapter in terms of battles is it something yet known.
Anyway, wanted to condense my thoughts real quick before moving onto other things.
Gameplay
Boy, the eventually Negative Coin Ishmael ID is gonna' kick ass in this chapter whenever they reveal it.
No seriously, the fact that Ish has this crippling of a debuff makes me fume almost as much as Sinclair's story debuff in his chapter. Starting at -35 sanity when all of Ishmael's current IDs are positive coin IDs is just hell on earth. I usually make it a rule to have the starring sinner in all their chapter stages and be in their base ID for thematic effect, but this debuff made me 180 on that rule and at least give myself the ability to pick her IDs. Extra attack power is useless on a character who needs to be at high sanity to function, and Ish has no low sanity IDs yet, so this is either a massive tease to the eventually 3-star ID that'll put Nclair to shame, or just an asshole move by the game developers.
On that note,
Allen X, Before Canto 5 Dropped: "Oh boy, a new Canto, hopefully they'll change up the weakness to finally kill the blunt meta an-" *pirates are weak to blunt*
... ... ...
Seriously, this actually pissed me off a little until the mermaids were weak to Pride, Wrath, and Pierce... just in time for me to spend all my resources buff my blunt IDs to level 40. At least we'll have some time until the next portion of the chapter opens up to start grinding materials for the pierce IDs we got since it seems Mermaids are gonna' be the next big enemy this time around. Still, it's a bit annoying to have a new chapter with the same tired meta IDs putting in the work, at least in terms of damage type.
Also, these fights take a little longer than the other chapters. Maybe that's because I haven't truly maxed out my teams yet, but I just barely got the EX conditions for 5-19, and I had to spam EGO to make that happen. Outis and Yi Sang were a godsend this time around.
Story
I'll save the majority of my thoughts for when I finish reading the full chapter, but so far I've been enjoying the story.
I think this does a better job at giving all the sinners some screentime than others. Already we've got some good development from Rodion, Meursault, Sinclair, Outis, Yi Sang who already had his chapter/spotlight, and even Dante of all people. This has been a real nice treat and gives me hope that more characters than Ishmael will come out of this with some new perspectives and peace of mind.
Speaking of, Ishmael's slow descent into madness is interesting to watch, and unlike most times this happens in other stories it feels like there's some purpose to Ish losing her grip on things aside from the need of story tension and angst. I'm surprised how little I'm annoyed by it all, since this type of arc tends to be really poorly written and only serves to make me hate the character. Maybe it's because characters like Outis and Rodion are actively annoyed and quietly reprimanding Ish respectively, maybe it's Dante actually stepping up as a manager and having some semblance of control over his employees in terms of authority and understanding them. Or maybe I'm just a bit of an Ishmael apologist and I'm willing to let Women's Wrongs™ happen when it's one of my favorite characters, who can really say.
I'm going to keep my deeper thoughts on the plot to myself since the story isn't finished yet, but in terms of my more basic thoughts I looking forward to things.

Bitter Sweet Symphony
Jae x reader
part 14 - Hog's Head Inn
words: probably somewhere around 2.8k
A/N: I know that the timeline of the song and story don't match but just like ignore it please? Thank you. Also, I hope nobody gets offended by me mixing stuff up... it's called fiction for a reason🙄
tag list: @softminygi @zico-aesthetics (slowly building this little sections so do come along and message me if you wanna be apart of it)
-
Y/N glared over playfully at Jae and his friends as they both snorted out a laugh. Wonpil had woken up and proceeded to spam the girl with funny pictures of Jae, but at the same time sent some questioning photos of Y/N herself to the Slytherin boy. And now, both were wagging war on twitter, almost crashing the app on both of their phones.
Sunmi glanced at the girl sitting opposite her at the table and smiled in amusement as she observed her reactions to the Slytherin blond boy with the soft rimmed glasses. Even though they started out on the wrong foot, it seems they are slowly gravitating to one another in a finer manner.
"Sunmi-unnie." Momo whispered to grab the Ravenclaw girl's attention. "Don't you think Y/N-unnie and Jae-oppa would make a good couple?"
Sunmi almost choked on her butterbeer as the younger Hufflepuff looked on to the two. If even the dull Momo managed to figure out the chemistry between these two then who hasn't?
"I agree little Momo. They would make the fine pair." Sunmi nodded and caught the angered gaze of Sungjin directed at Jae. 'Ho, do I smell jealousy?' She smiled at the thought only for it to be broken by a ping on Y/N's phone.
The girl quickly scanned the message she got and sighed, standing up and grabbing the blue coat which was drapped over her chair. She met eyes with Jae and smirked at him endaringly.
"We'll continue our banter later snake boy." She said as she looked back over to Sunmi. "Don't wait up for me, I probably won't be back until curfew."
"Alright. I'll bribe our head girl again if you stay out later." Sunmi nodded. "Be careful Y/N."
"Thank you." She hugged the older girl. "And don't worry so much about me, I'll be fine."
And with that Y/N went off towards the exit, noticing just how much Jae was following her every move with his eyes.
"See you later, Jae." Y/N stopped short when the older boy blushed at her use of his name and at the same time blushed back.
She quickly scurried out the door into the cold and headed up the street away from the Three Broomsticks Inn.
"What the hell was that Y/N? Get yourself together damn it."
And with that she walked towards the Hog's Head Inn.
-
Just as Y/N left the Three Broomsticks Sungjin turned to Jae anger evident in his eyes. Sunmi also noticed the shift in atmosphere because the Slytherin boy wasn't blushing so much anymore, rather he was now coldly staring at his Gryffindor friend.
"What?" Jae asked out loud.
"What? You dare ask me what when you know very well what?!" Sungjin looked like a volcano ready to errupt any second.
"You're mad at me because I talked to Y/N." Jae sighed and rolled his eyes. "I don't remember you having any power over me or her to ban us from talking."
"Jae you know I like her!" Sunmi coughed just as Momo took a very loud bite of her cookie. "I have a feeling you like her too and she likes you. Which means I have no chance to get close to her what so ever!"
Jae's eyes only grew colder as he looked at his younger friend with a slight annoyance in his expression. Both Younghyun and Dowoon moved over to the table where the Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff girl sat, fearing the worst and not exactly wishing to be in the middle of this little argument.
"Sungjin, I really don't care what you are thinking about right now and the fact that I have to walk on egg shells around you is getting on my last nerve more than you know." Jae stood up loudly and sighed. "I'm going to be the bigger person here and leave the room so a fight doesn't break out between us, but remember this well Sungjin." Jae's pointed look stayed on the dark haired boy just as four pairs of eager eyes observed him from the next table. "I do like Y/N, and I will not give up on her just because you don't have the balls to confess to her."
And with that the Slytherin boy left the Inn, a very awkward silence falling between the students present.
-
The Hog's Head Inn had a distinctive smell of stale mold as Y/N walked inside. She noticed not many people ever visited this place and the people in here seemed to be either very grumpy old men or some very sketchy students.
No wonder this place was always full of Slytherins.
The girl proceeded to walk towards the rusty old stairs and took one at a time with caution as to not fall through the creacking wood. It didn't take her much time at all to reach the upstairs sitting room where a man in dark robes sat tending to the fire. With a heavy intake of breath, which almost suffocated the girl thanks to the pilled up dust of this place, she walked over to the empty seat beside the man and patted off the dirt from the cushion as much as she could before sitting down.
"It's good to see you daughter." The man spoke, his dark almond eyes meeting Y/N's presence.
"I could say the same to you, but we both know that would be a lie." The girl grumbled out. "Why am I here?"
"Straight to the point I see. No wonder your mother is angered with your sharp tongue." The man smiled softly. "It's the same as hers."
Y/N rolled her eyes not answering nor speaking further.
"It's a blessing to be able to summon a patronus Y/N. And you did that all by yourself without trying beforehand. I must compliment you on the execution of the spell perfectly." The man spoke as he leaned back into the armchair he was sitting on. "I spoke with Dumbledore and he praised your school work as much as your talent for quidditch. I'm very proud of your progress." The girl rolled her eyes at those words. "I have taken the liberty of asking Headmaster Dumbledore to let you take a break from school for a few days so you may visit your mother and brother."
Y/N eyes hardened at these words but she kept her tongue at bay. It wasn't the time yet to attack the man out of nowhere like that with her clear displeasure of these events.
"And why would I agree to this?" She asked stoic.
"Y/N, you haven't seen your mother or brother for the last 5 years of your school life. You always stay at Hogwarts for the holidays and never answer any of the letters your mother sends you." Y/N's gaze never wavered from the fire. "I know you and Sao don't have the strongest of sibling bonds but they are still your family."
"I thought I wasn't her daughter anymore since Sao didn't show any affinity to magic and I did." It was more of a statement than a thought. "I'm not leaving Hogwarts in the middle of the school term just because the woman can't apologise and for a brother that doesn't want to see me."
Y/N stood to go but stopped short at her father's next words.
"I don't wish to take these means but if you don't go I will have to resign you from Hogwarts for good." Y/N's eyes filled with wide anger bore into her father's. "I'm sorry daughter, but it's the only way."
-
The students of Hogwarts who lingered in the halls all began moving left and right as Y/N went full speed down in a running motion, her coat flailing behind her like a majestic cape. She was taking twists and turns and stairs two at a time to reach the Gargoyle corridor where Headmaster Dumbledore's office is located. With heavy breaths she stopped in front of the gargoyle and tapped it on the head for it to wake up.
The gargoyle stirred and glared at the girl as she only huffed before saying the password.
"Iced mice." The gargoyle groaned but moved letting the girl pass through.
She climbed all the way up to the office, entering it with a soft knock.
"My my Miss Jeong, I don't remember telling you the password to my office." Dumbledore spoke up from his seat behind his desk.
He smiled kindly through his long white beard and gestured for the girl to come closer and take a seat.
"Is it true?" Y/N didn't move from her standing postition in the middle of the room. "Is it true that my father will be taking me out of school if I don't leave?"
"Miss Jeong calm down." Dumbledore stood up and walked around his desk to face the girl fully. "It is true your father requested your absence for a few days but I have not given him permision. I believe that only you may choose if you wish to leave or not."
"But he said he'll take me away..." Y/N fidgeted with the sleeves of her coat not understanding what was happening.
"Miss Jeong you have nothing to fear. Professor Flitwick has been notified of this and will not allow such actions to take place. Do get some rest, curfew is soon upon us." The headmaster smiled as a confused Y/N went to leave. "Oh and Miss Jeong?" The girl turned around. "We'll talk about you knowing about the password to my office tomorrow. Good night."
Y/N moved through the halls not paying attention to anything or anybody. The halls were mostly empty with a few prefects walking about to check who is still out to remind them of their curfew. And just as she turned the corner she bumped into somebody stopping in her zombie like pace.
"Y/N?"
She looked up to be met with a thick tuff of blond hair covering a pair of eyes behind some glasses.
"Jae?" She blinked a few times until she burst into a fit of soft sobs and grabbed onto the taller boy's green bomber jacket. "...Jae..."
Jae barely had time to come to terms with the fact that: a) his crush had just called him by name while sobbing, b) his crush is literally clinging to him and c) the Slytherin prefect is out looking for students that are out after curfew and he's one of them. So what does Jae do? Jae gently takes Y/N's hand and they run through the halls to the more secluded part of the Hogwarts castle and hide in one of the many towers where they will not be bothered.
"Are you okay?" Jae asked Y/N as he gently sat down next to her on the ground.
"No." She squeaked out and sniffed.
"Do you wanna talk about it?" He asked her again.
"No." She answered again.
Jae blinked but nodded understanding her completely. He felt a small hand wrap around his and he blushed intensely when the smaller girl placed her head on his shoulder.
"Just... stay here... like this..." She whispered out.
"Okay, I can do that." Jae said nervous, adding in a giggle or two. "I can do that no problem."
Y/N only snorted but tried to calm down her extenseve sobbing. Jae placed his head on the cold wall and began humming softly to a song in his head, earning a curious glance from the girl.
Y/N kept quiet as she listened to the soft humms of the young boy.
"That's pretty, what's the title?" Y/N asked.
"Oh? Well it's a song by a muggle band, The Verve." Jae looked down at Y/N. "Bitter Sweet Symphony."
"Kind of sums up my life right now." Y/N giggled and looked up at Jae.
Their faces were only inches appart, their breaths mixing as their eyes lingered on each other. Y/N felt the mint radiate off of his lips just as Jae enjoyed the smell of lillies from her hair. The milisecond of bounce in Jae's eyes that went from her eyes to her lips didn't go unnoticed by the girl and she darted the tip of her tongue out to wet her plump lips.
"Oh fuck it." Jae hissed and leaned in to the girl fully, placing his lips on hers.
The kiss was hesitant at first, Jae being so unsure and slowly regretting the fact that he even made a move. That is until Y/N placed her arms around his neck and kissed him back, catching him by surprise. His hands travelled down to her hips just as the girl climbed onto his lap, their lips moving in union.
When they pulled back from each other to grab a hefty fine of air Jae noticed the lust in Y/N's eyes and she too noticed the need in his. The girl only smirked and kissed the boy again.
"Oh fuck it well Jae." Y/N pushed him down to the floor just as he moaned into her mouth at the sudden friction of his lower body.
The sudden darkness of the lonesome tower aided the two in this night adventure as both did their best to keep the noise to a minimum.

The Complete Guide to Organizing a Full-emerged Using Brute Force attack
The term "brute force attack" is probably not foreign to a professional in the security industry. In order to break a password or PIN, a hacker may resort to a brute force attack, in which they try every conceivable option until they succeed. A possible brute force attack is a serious security issue. If hackers obtain your PIN or password, they can access your account and take any data they want.
This post will describe the mechanics of brute force attacks and offer advice on countering them. To further strengthen your defenses, we'll also go over some preventative steps you may take.
A Brute Force Attack
A brute force attack is an assault technique that uses random guessing to try to get access to confidential data. The hacker attempts various login identities and passwords before getting in.
Once inside, the bad guy can continue to pose as a legal user until they're discovered. During this period, they can spread laterally, set up backdoors, learn the system for future brute force attacks, and steal information.
Since there have been passwords, brute force attacks have been a countermeasure. Brute force attacks are not only still common but increasing in demand because of the rise of telecommuting.
The Brute Force Attack Types
A Pure Display of Force
A basic brute force attack relies on pre-made scripts and automated processes. The typical rate of guesses in a brute force attack is several hundred per second. Passwords that include only lowercase characters, all capital letters, or obvious phrases like "123456" or "password" can be broken in minutes. However, there is the possibility of achieving speeds several times faster.
Aiming to define an attack
One form of attack is called a "dictionary attack," It involves trying various permutations of everyday words and phrases. Historically, dictionary attacks relied solely on numeric combinations and dictionary words; today, dictionary attacks also use passwords that have been compromised in previous data breaches. Passwords like these have been compromised and are now for sale on the dark web and easily accessible on the ordinary web.
There is dictionary software that can substitute similar characters to provide new possibilities. If you type a "l," the software will change it to an "I," and if you type an "a," it will become a "@" symbol. Based on its logic, the program will only try the combinations with the highest probability of succeeding.
Adopting False Names to Gain Credibility
To date, almost 8.5 billion user names and passwords have been compromised. These stolen credentials are traded among cybercriminals on the dark web and utilized for a wide variety of malicious purposes, including but not limited to spamming and account takeovers.
These stolen credentials are then used in a credential-stuffing attack, which targets several websites. People reuse their login information across multiple accounts, making it easy for hackers to gain access to multiple accounts with a single successful brute force attack. This is how credential stuffing works; if a hacker gains access to a victim's electric company account, they will likely gain access to their online bank account.
Although credential-stuffing assaults are most frequently undertaken against the gaming, media, and retail industries, they can affect any firm.
Asymmetrical counter Brute Force attack
Normal brute force attacks begin with a known key, such as a login or account number, and work from there. After that, automated methods are used to crack the password. When an attacker has the password but not the username or account number, they attempt a reverse brute force attack.
Combined Physical and Mental Efforts
A dictionary attack and a brute force attack are combined in a hybrid form. Passwords frequently include a set of numbers. Usually, four are added to the end. All four digits represent a key year in their lives, such as the year they were born or the year they graduated from high school. Therefore the first digit is typically a 1 or 2.
A reverse brute force attack can then be automated to try each possible combination of the final four digits. The efficiency of this method greatly exceeds that of either a dictionary assault or a brute force attack taken separately.
Spam Passwords
In the past, brute force attacks were limited to trying to guess a single password. On the other hand, password spraying uses a generic password for multiple services. Using this method, you won't risk getting locked out due to exceeding the allowed number of attempts on a password. Single sign-on (SSO) and federated authentication are common targets for password-spraying attacks against cloud-based applications.
Botnets
Since a brute force attack is fundamentally a numbers game, it naturally necessitates a sizable amount of processing power to carry out effectively. Attackers can avoid the time and effort of maintaining their systems by using networks of compromised machines to carry out the attack algorithm. The deployment of botnets provides an additional covert method of operation. It is possible to employ botnets for any kind of brute-force attack.
Reasons for Using Excessive Brute Force attack
Brute force attacks can be used for a wide variety of malicious purposes, including but not limited to the following: stealing sensitive information, spreading malware, hijacking systems for nefarious ends, making websites inaccessible, making money off of advertisements, diverting traffic to affiliate sites, and infecting websites with spyware to harvest user information for resale to
Credential stuffing attacks require almost minimal technical knowledge or resources to launch. Every computer user with $550 to spare can start a credential-stuffing attack.
When a Brute Force Attack is used, what happens?
Those who cannot construct their automated tools for brute force attacks can buy them in the form of malware kits on the dark web from those who do. In addition, they can buy information like stolen credentials to utilize in credential stuffing or hybrid brute force assault. Vendors bundle these lists with automated technologies and extra extras like management dashboards to attract customers.
The attack occurs once the adversary prepares his or her tools and feeds them the lists, if necessary.
Botnets allow for brute force attacks to be launched. Botnets are networks of compromised computers that are used to process data without the owner's knowledge or permission. Bot kits, like the malware kits described above, are readily available for purchase on the dark web. Last year, a botnet attacked SSH servers at numerous financial organizations, healthcare facilities, universities, and other institutions.
Attacking with brute force attack requires a lot of manpower and material, but it usually succeeds. They might be the opening salvo in a multi-pronged assault. The Myresellerhome blog explains this phenomenon by analyzing a situation where a brute force attack was used as part of a multi-step exploit to get unauthenticated privilege escalation to full domain privileges.
Brute force Attack Methods That Rely on Physical and Equipment
On the open internet, you can find effective tools against a wide range of systems and protocols, and many of them are free to use. Some examples are as follows.
Aircrack-ng
One such free tool is Aircrack-ng, a wifi password hacking program that uses a brute force attack. It may be used with any NIC that supports raw monitoring mode and comes equipped with a WEP/WPA/WPA2-PSK cracker and analysis tools for attacking wifi 802.11.
DaveGrohl
DaveGrohl is a dictionary attack capable of brute force attack tool for Mac OS X. Using its dispersed mode. An attacker can launch simultaneous attacks against the same password hash from different machines.
Hash cat
It is a free software program that can crack passwords using only the central processing unit. It's compatible with Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux and can withstand various attacks, including brute force, dictionary, and hybrid methods.
THC hydra
Network authentication passwords are no match for THC Hydra. More than 30 protocols, including HTTPS, FTP, and Telnet, are attacked via dictionary attacks.
John the Ripper
It is a free password-cracking tool designed specifically for Unix systems. It has recently been ported to 15 other systems, some of which are Windows, OpenVMS, and DOS. John the Ripper can be used against encrypted password storage because it can automatically determine the type of hashing used in a password.
L0phtCrack
Simple brute force attack, dictionary, hybrid, and rainbow table assaults all employ L0phtCrack to crack Windows passwords.
NL brute
As of at least 2016, the dark web has been home to the RDP brute force attack tool NL Brute.
Ophcrack
An open-source Windows password cracker available for no cost. It performs rainbow table lookups on LM hashes.
Rainbow Crack
This creates rainbow tables for use in attacks. Since rainbow tables are precompiled, the time it takes to launch an attack is drastically reduced.
How do you best defend yourself from a direct brute-force attack?
Employ many methods of authentication.
The success rate of a brute force attack decreases when users are asked to provide several authentication factors. These factors can include a password and a fingerprint or a password and a one-time security token.
Preserve good practices in information technology.
Learn how credentials are used in the system as a whole and enforce frequent password changes.
Disallow the use of passwords that are too simple.
It's not always preferable to have a longer password. Implementing a requirement for a combination of upper- and lowercase letters along with special characters is particularly helpful. Password best practices should be communicated to users, such as not using a sequence of four consecutive numbers and avoiding easily guessed digits like 1 and 2. Use a discovery tool that reveals the default passwords on devices that haven't been changed and provide a password management tool to discourage users from using simple passwords.
Try out some preventative threat hunting.
If you're using only the most basic security procedures, threat hunting may reveal vulnerabilities you missed. If a brute force attack was used to gain access to the system, a threat hunter could identify the attempt, even if it is using bogus credentials.
Conclusion
A brute force attack is a common and efficient method of gaining unauthorized access to a system or its data. In a short time, a hacker can get into a system or obtain the information they seek by making an enormous number of tries.
