this scene was so cute in the light novel i felt obligated to try and draw it!!

I really love how sweet Helene feels towards Lyla in the novel!! Seeing her be nice to Lyla is so refreshing.

And though I worried it would strip away a vital part of her character in the manhwa (that is, the mystery of the conflicting feelings she shows towards Lyla), the light novel more than makes up for it by making Helene's sweetness conflict with her apparently sinister nature :>

#Helene: *fidgets desperately while being unable to do the thing she wants to do* me: that's it she's autistic af #the next words after this also make me wanna snatch Helene as autistic representation but ill draw something for that next!!#TME LN #the mighty extra #when i first read this i was kind of upset that Helene was so friendly towards Lyla #because i was suuuuper afraid the light novel was going to go down the “oh she's such a stereotypically kind and noble heroine” route #aka she's super sweet and kind and wholesome and noble and perfect but with absolutely no flaws to make her interesting #but GOLLY DID THIS NOVEL YEET MY FEARS OUT THE WINDOW ONCE PARIS APPEARED #so hey on that note remember how fucking eerie Helene got after she downed Paris with the sap in the manhwa?#now imagine her being that fucking sinister towards literally everyone who isn't named Lyla #and that's her 95% of the time she appears in this LN #which now that im saying this im starting to realize Helene might be as fucked up in the manhwa as she is in the light novel #because if her true nature in the manhwa is the same as in the light novel #then she really did show her true nature in front of Paris (hell yeah validation!) and is stupidly good at hiding it in the manhwa
