Okay so. I blacked out for four hours and became sentient to a finished product so uh

These are my (mostly) new squids, they were one of the absolute top turf war teams a couple of years before my version of Splatoon 1, they're called the Sunshade Krackens (yes they misspelled krakens lmao).

There's Sunora, the team leader and most serious of the bunch, Masako, who's energetic and kinda wild but painfully innocent and a bit naive, Boovy, a bundle of anxiety that prefers to sneak around inking turf but gets caught up in the vanguard of the New Squidbeak Splatoon, and Tim, the laid-back yet excitable support from the backlines.

I'd go into more detail since I'm trying to build up their personalities for my first writing project, which would detail how they grew to become who they're depicted as today, but I know you don't wanna read four paragraphs, so I'm just gonna leave the sheet of doodles I made while trying to work up the motivation to finish this under the cut since it shows off some of their character and a few design aspects I didn't get to fully showcase in the character art. You can also see them in yellow, the team color they use for battles.

And yeah idk where I'd say this but thanks to Squidbeak Splatoon business they're buds with Callie and Marie too.

I tried my best to give them each distinct color palettes, so you could easily tell them apart, I went for the six most different colors using Callie and Marie as an anchor, though I strayed away from orange/yellow since it's their team color. A little tough trying to make their color schemes work with both their individual colors and their team color, but I feel like I did decently enough.

Also fun fact, they're based loosely on the blue team in the first ever Splatoon showcase trailer back in 2014.
