Oh hold on I actually do have a ship haha with almost no content 🤣 it's just Cody and crosshair bc of that whole touch starved wrist gripping moment it did something to my brain I stg. I multiship extensively tho pls go ahead and talk about tbb polycule or something, it's just that no other clone ships have flicked that switch yet (but I like seeing them as happy background pairings in fic)

Okay, but you are so correct for this anon like.... I shipped Cody/Crosshair a LITTLE before season 2 because that's the One Person outside the batch that Crosshair respected, to the point that he got into it with Rex because Rex wanted to take command. That's already a pretty special place, good ship potential even if no one was taking it, but that wrist cling rewired my brain chemistry about it. I have a few Cody/Crosshair fics in my bookmarks right now waiting for energy to read them, but they haunt my brain.

Also, the angst potential is off the charts. Because Cody obviously leaves without him - which of course he did, Crosshair seems to have doubled down on the Empire and didn't take any of the lures Cody was putting out to test his loyalty. From Cody's end, trying to take Crosshair with him would put them both at risk.

But from Crosshair's end, I hard headcanon that he killed the governor to protect Cody, especially because it was almost immediately after they had their little Moment in the stairwell. To him he's reaffirmed his loyalty to Cody not the Empire, even if Cody doesn't get that, and he has justttt enough time to think that maybe he can figure out how to explain it and then. Boom. Cody's gone. He's alone again. And the only bit of closeness he has to try and survive through an undetermined length of time ahead is that memory of grabbing onto Cody's wrist.

Like I am unwell about it. As is Crosshair, who is in fact unwell about several things.
