AU T7S Where Kelso Doesn't Exist on the Show
This turned into an outline/first-draft hybrid of a fanfic I would call One Difference: Michael Kelso Doesn't Exist.
Quite a few twists. Lots of Zen. Plenty for the other characters, too.
Season 1
Jackie joins the basement gang because of Fez. Jackie enjoys his flattery and attention, but she hasn't promised him anything romantic or sexual. She also keeps her time in Eric's basement secret, acting like she doesn't know Fez, Donna, Eric, or Hyde while in school.
Hyde influences Eric to be more delinquent than he otherwise would be. Without Kelso as his partner in crime, Eric fills that role.
Eric gets into more trouble with both his parents because of his shenanigans with Hyde. Donna also finds Eric slightly hotter for his rebelliousness. In canon season seven, she tells Eric she thinks it's hot when he does naughty stuff.
Unfortunately for Eric, his parents don't agree. He doesn't get the Vista Cruiser, as he does in "That '70s Pilot" (1x01). They tell him that unless and until he acts responsible enough to have a car, he's not getting one from them.
Red's opinion about Hyde is also different. Instead of seeing Hyde as a good kid who's rough around the edges, he thinks Hyde's a danger to his son and tells Eric Hyde's no longer allowed in the house. He also tells Eric to let Hyde find another dumbass to get into trouble with.
Jackie wants to go to the junior prom so badly that she accepts Fez's invitation. Problem is that she's finding herself attracted to Hyde in spite of herself. Before Red banned him from the basement, regardless of how annoyed he is by Jackie, she's drawn to him.
Hyde is the only one who fights the guy (and his friends) who punched Eric unconscious in "Grandma's Dead" (1x23). Without Kelso there, Fez tries to help but is tossed aside and passes out.
Hyde gets more than a fat lip from that bar fight. He's bruised all over. He's allowed to go to Grandma Forman's funeral to support Eric (because of Kitty).
When Red sees Hyde, he assumes the worst about why Hyde's bruised and swollen. Eric tells Red what Hyde did for him, and that significantly changes Red's mind about Hyde.
Fez is confused as to why Jackie runs hot and cold with him. Hyde and Eric both answer that she's a nutbag and he should look for a girlfriend elsewhere. Donna, though, defends Jackie. They're friends now, and Jackie's helped Donna transition her friendship with Eric into a romance.
Fez decides to fight even harder for Jackie's love, and Hyde and Eric groan.
After Edna abandons Hyde, Red (without knowing yet what happened) lets Hyde join his for dinner three nights in one week. During these dinners, Red starts to understand that Hyde is a good boy who's rough around the edges. Kitty, who always liked Hyde, is grateful for how he stood up for her son.
Once Red and Kitty learn that Hyde's mom abandoned him, he allows Hyde to live with them on probationary status. Hyde has to cut out the nonsense and stop cutting classes.
Hyde excels at following Red's conditions, so much so that Eric becomes jealous. With Hyde no longer doing senseless stupid stunts, Eric decides to do a stunt of his own. He's got way more experience in it since Hyde essentially trained him in the art for eleven years.
Eric, who's earned the Vista Cruiser a third through the season, decides to take his mom's keys to the Toyota and find out how fast and far it can go on one tank of gas. Donna, Hyde, and Fez try to convince him not to.
Jackie is present for this moment, and she encourages Eric to go with his plan. This pisses off Donna and Hyde, but Fez finds it hot (despite not wanting Eric to do it).
Hyde tells Eric if he's gonna do something so stupid, Hyde better go with him.
Eric ends up swerving to avoid another car, but the Toyota's bumper falls off and the left taillight is busted. A good measure of paint has been scraped off.
When Red discovers what happened to his car, Hyde takes responsibility for it. Eric objects and says it's his fault. They fight over it, and Red fights internally with himself whether to blame Hyde and kick him out.
But, unlike Donna and Fez who have run off, Jackie steps in and says it was Eric's idea and that Hyde tried to stop him. She's a witness. She knows Hyde will be homeless if Hyde doesn't let Eric take responsibility, and then she'll lose access to him.
Red is relieved and disappointed. He makes Eric and Hyde work to pay off the car repairs. Rather than being upset by this punishment, Hyde feels more like part of the family.
Season 2
Fez tricks Jackie into a kiss during the movies. Once she realizes what he's doing, she stops him. With no Kelso to slug Fez, Jackie runs out of the theater.
Jackie tells Donna what happened and admits she liked the kiss. She's considering dating Fez in secret.Donna has two problems with this idea: one, Fez tricked her into a kiss, which doesn't set a good precedent for the start of a relationship; and two, Jackie shouldn't date Fez in secret. If Jackie has romantic feelings for him, she should be proud to date him and not let xenophobia -- or fear of others' xenophobia -- dictate how she lives her life.
Jackie says in this conversation that she's never had a boyfriend before and she's getting long in the tooth. It's time for her to start dating already. Fez is a terrible choice. "He worships me. He's great dancer, but ..."
Donna says, "He's foreign."
Jackie says, "No. I mean yes, but you're right that I shouldn't treat him like a dirty little secret. The problem is ... I love kissing, and Fez is good at it, but I'm not sure Fez is the one I want to kiss."
Donna, shocked and intrigued, says, "Is there someone else you want to kiss?"
Jackie becomes cagey, an obvious tell, and Donna calls her out on it: "There is someone you want to kiss! Who is it? Do I know him?"
Jackie, very uncomfortable, escapes the question by escaping the conversation (and Donna).
In the circle with Eric, Hyde, and Fez, Donna does her best to keep her mouth shut about Jackie. But Fez brings up how he kissed Jackie at the movies and that Jackie ran away afterward.
Eric and Hyde rag on Fez (and Jackie): "Why Jackie? I mean ... why Jackie?" "You found the Holy Grail, man -- the secret to gettin' Jackie to disappear."
Donna, unhappy about their burns, says, "Jackie liked the kiss, you jackasses -- " which makes Fez brighten -- "but she wants someone else to kiss her that way."
Fez, Hyde, and Eric: "Who?"
Donna: "I don't know. She wouldn't tell me."
Eric: "Oh, God -- that must mean it's one of us!"
Hyde: "Donna's hot. Wouldn't blame her."
Eric: "Not Donna. Us! You and me!"
Hyde: "No way, Forman. You make her sick, and she makes me sick. She wouldn't go after her best friend's boyfriend anyway."
Donna, Eric, and Fez: "How do you know that?"
Hyde: "Uh ... "
Donna (teasing, singing): "Hyde and Jackie sitting in ... in ... have you two ever sat in anything together?"
Fez (sad): "Only the remains of my heart."
Hyde: "Look, last winter at her ski cabin, she whined to me about wanting this guy Jake Bradley -- "
Eric: "The Jake Bradley? The Vikings quarterback?"
Hyde: "Yeah. But he's dating Kat Peterson, so that's never gonna happen."
Donna (remembering): "Right! And you tried to 'comfort' her by saying Jake wouldn't cheat on Kat with Pam Macy either, so Jackie's in good company.
Hyde (chuckling to himself): "That was a pretty good burn."
Donna: "You were a total jerk that weekend -- and not just to her."
Hyde: "Yup. I was. [Sincerely to Donna] Sorry, man. For all of it. No excuses. Just a reason: head was screwed up from my ma. Wouldn't want anyone to do to me what I did to you, and I'm glad we're still cool though I don't deserve it."
Donna's about to accept his apology, but Eric says, "What did you do to her?"
Fez (morose): "What I did to Jackie."
Eric (pissed and confused, to Hyde): "You kissed her in a movie theater in Alpine Valley?"
Donna and Hyde: "The ski cabin."
Hyde: "And she slapped me good. Too bad it didn't knock sense into my skull."
After this circle, Eric is uneasy about Hyde.
Laurie, bored, finds a sad Fez moping around the Forman driveway. She gets him to open up about Jackie's latest but as-yet unspoken romantic rejection of him. Laurie sees an opportunity to amuse herself.
Laurie: "You're a virgin, right?"
Fez: "Yes -- no! I have done it with many women. Like a stallion."
Laurie: "Mm-hmm. Care to prove it?"
Fez glances around. "Where?"
Laurie holds up the keys to her parents' Toyota and nods her head toward the car.
"B-b-but we could get caught!" Fez says.
"It'll be more fun that way," Laurie says and pulls Fez to the car.
A little later, Hyde goes to the driveway. The garage door is open. The Toyota is rocking. At first Hyde thinks the Formans are having sex, and he back away. Then Laurie screams, "Fez!" in passion (and in an attempt to get caught).
Hyde is more repulsed by the idea of Fez and Laurie screwing than the Formans and flees to The Hub.
At The Hub, Jackie is eating at a table alone. Hyde brings his tray of fries, a hot dog, and a soda to her table.
Jackie (suspicious and intrigued): "What do you want?"
Hyde: "You don't have to worry about Fez anymore."
Jackie: "Huh?"
Hyde: "Look, we all know he's been after you for months, but someone caught him in her web today. He's probably gonna stay there willingly, even if the spider sucks out his insides ... leavin' him a dried husk."
Jackie (annoyed): What are you talking about, Hyde?"
Hyde: "Spotted Laurie and Fez doing the backseat bossa nova."
Jackie: "Is that some kind of dance?"
Hyde (smirking): "Some kind. Doesn't require clothes. [To himself] Hope he's wearin' a condom."
Jackie (understanding): "HE'S HAVING SEX WITH LAURIE?"
Hyde winces at her shout. "You should be happy, man. Now that she's got Fez on his back, he'll get off yours."
Jackie: "I -- well -- who's gonna ... "
Hyde: "What?"
Jackie: "You'll just burn me if I tell you."
Hyde: "Likely. [Gently] You can still tell me."
Jackie: "It's just that ... I don't get a lot of attention at home, okay? And I have no boyfriend to lavish me with the adoration I totally deserve, so now that Fez'll be all over Laurie, I'm gonna be alone."
Hyde: "Not alone. Lonely."
Jackie: "What's the difference?"
Hyde: "Trust me; there's a difference."
Jackie stares at Hyde a moment. Then she says, "I do. I do trust you."
Hyde, realizing he made a big mistake, says, "I'm gonna take the rest of my lunch to-go." He stands up with his tray of food and leaves The Hub while Frank (the manager and cashier) yells at him about it. Hyde says, "I'll bring it back!" and hurries away outside.
Fez, exhilarated and a little scared by what happened between himself and Laurie, looks for someone to confide in. He wants someone who will react helpfully, so Eric's out. Hyde's at The Hub with Jackie, so Fez can't find him. Next door, however, is Donna.
Nervously, Fez relates to Donna that he just lost his virginity to Laurie. Donna's first reaction is disgust and shock, but she recovers and asks if he's okay. "And please tell me you used a condom."
Fez: "I don't know if I'm okay -- but yes, Pépé wore a coat. Laurie said I was all right, which is a synonym for *okay,* but did she really mean it? And the first-first time lasted five seconds. The second first time was eight minutes and -- "
Donna: "Spare me the second-by-second breakdown. Please. I want to know how you feel -- emotionally. Because, y'know, it's Laurie! And how did this even happen?"
Fez (laughing): "Oh, you silly virgins and you're silly questions. Sex-education in this country is very lacking. You see, women have -- "
Donna: "I know how sex works! I mean how did you and Laurie ... *why* did you and Laurie?"
Fez: "Oh. She was bored. I was heartbroken over Jackie, and now Fez is no longer a virgin. But what if Laurie just used me to burn Eric? Or if she'll never have sex with me again? Or if that will be my *only* time having sex? Because I liked it ... about four minutes into the second first time."
Donna wishes Hyde were the one Fez was talking to. She's very uncomfortable. She's also worried about how this situation will affect Fez and Eric. She says, "Laurie is always up to something. Whatever you do, even if it's having sex with her again, don't trust her. And don't mistake sex for love. They're totally not the same thing. And I think you should tell Eric right away. Like now."
Fez: "Wow. This is a lot to think about."
Donna: "I just don't want you or Eric to get hurt."
Donna supports Fez by being present in the basement when Fez tells Eric about Laurie. Eric has a negative reaction, and Donna tries to calm him down. Hyde enters the basement amid this bit of chaos.
Hyde: "So Forman knows Fez and Laurie did it, huh?"
Fez, Donna and Eric: "How do you know about that?"
Hyde: "I was there, man. In the driveway. Saw the Formans' Toyota rattling around. Once I spotted the cause, I was outta there."
Eric, hoping to find an ally, says to Hyde, "So what now? Laurie's not hanging out with us just 'cause she and Fez committed that abominable act."
Hyde (to Fez): "Whatever you do, whoever you do, is your business, man. Just don't make it ours, all right?"
Donna: "I already warned him not to fall in love with her."
Fez grows annoyed at his friends' controlling, unsupportive attitudes. He decides that if Laurie's interested in him, he'll have fun with her as long as it lasts.
Throughout the rest of the season, Fez and Laurie's strange relationship continues. Jackie's disgusted and thankful she'd realized she doesn't have romantic feelings for him early. Red is oblivious, but eagle-eyed Kitty recognizes that Laurie is "playing" with Fez (please excuse the unavoidable double entendre).
Kitty sits Laurie down and has a serious talk with her. Kitty knows Laurie is in no way faithful to Fez and doesn't want her to break Fez's heart. Laurie tries to reassure Kitty, albeit dismissively, that the heart isn't the organ Fez is concerned about.
Dissatisfied, Kitty goes to Red. Big mistake. Red puts the onus on Fez and tries to scare him off Laurie. Fez tells Laurie about this development, which makes her want Fez more.
Jackie tries to befriend Hyde, much to his annoyance. She likes how real he is, especially compared to the guys who are part of her social circle at school. She finds in his personality and demeanor aspects she feels she lacks within herself and is attracted (platonically) by that.
Hyde shows no interest in reciprocating any friendship until he witnesses at school a nasty encounter Jackie has with a very competitive cheer squad teammate, Julie. Julie is gunning for cheer captain for the varsity team next year. She sees Jackie as a threat and uses Jackie's lack of boyfriend as a way to spread rumors about her.
Hyde teaches Jackie his version of Zen so she can protect herself. He also introduces her to the circle in between lessons. Unfortunately, being Zen goes only so far when Jackie Burkhart is a lesbian (remember, 1970s) and other untrue statements about her are written on blackboards and whispered by students whenever Jackie walks into a classroom or a school hallway.
To mitigate these rumors, Jackie starts dating Chip. Hyde is wary of this development and keeps an eye on it.
Before Jackie and Chip's third date, at school Hyde questions Chip -- whom Hyde knows is a year older than Jackie and has bragged about previous sexual "conquests". Chip says what he and Jackie have is quid quo pro. Chip goes on a few dates with her, tolerates the yapping, and on the last date he gets to nail her.
Hyde: "Is tonight gonna be the last date?"
Chip: "Hell yeah. She's a bitch."
Pow!
Hyde lays out Chip with one punch. It's witnessed by a lot of students, including Jackie. Jackie wants to know what happened. Hyde manages to get out, "He said bitch. Last date. Nail you -- "
Unlike the Jackie of T7S Prime, this one is a virgin at this time on the show. She's sexually inexperienced, and she pieces together what Chip intended and why Hyde punched him.
Unfortunately, the school principal arrives. As he hauls Hyde to his office, Jackie shouts that she loves Hyde. Many students witness this moment, too.
The principal suspends Hyde from school for the rest of the year, which only has two weeks left, but it means he can't take his finals. He'll have to attend summer school and anger management classes.
Eric and Donna's stories in season 2 are relatively unaffected by Kelso's absence except as described above.
Season 3
Jackie happy-brags to Donna about what went down and why Hyde has to go to summer school. Donna thinks what Hyde did is noble but that Jackie needs to tell her dad about it since the principal doesn't know.
Jackie thinks Donna's idea is great. She does tell her father, who uses his influence to get Hyde out of anger management and a commendation on his transcript for community spirit-- despite the principal condemning the use of violence to solve issues. Chip is expelled because of Jack's influence (and fury that someone thought to hurt his daughter in such a way).
Hyde remains suspended for one week but is allowed to return to school to take his finals.
Jackie is flustered that Hyde doesn't thank her for her intervention on his behalf. He protected her, and she protected him, so -- to her mind -- they should be really close now.
When Jackie confronts Hyde about his lack of gratitude, he tells her he never would've had to punch the guy (Chip) if Jackie didn't give into social pressure. Although this statement is victim-blaming, Jackie does think hard about how toxic her social circle is and tells Hyde he's right. She'll choose her friends better. In fact, he'll be seeing a lot more of her from now on.
Hyde complains to Eric and Donna about this latest situation. Donna's pissed at Hyde for blaming Jackie for Chip nearly taking advantage of her.
Eric, meanwhile, is still focused on Fez and Laurie's relationship and says he bets Laurie took advantage of Laurie, but no one was around to punch her before she could get to him -- not that a man should punch a lady. But if Donna had been there ...
Donna slaps Eric's shoulder and tells him to pay attention to the matter at hand.
Hyde takes to heart Donna's point about victim-blaming Jackie and wants to make it right. He apologizes to Jackie, in his own way. He says, "I get feelin' pressured, and sometimes it puts us in situations we don't know are dangerous. Chip is a sneaky bastard, and you're not used to sneaky bastards. I am, but you couldn't have seen what he had planned for ya. Even if you could -- "
Jackie: "You're rambling, Steven."
Hyde: "I don't ... yeah, okay, I do. I am. Anyway, I'm sorry for acting like a dillhole after I punched Chip. I kinda punched you, too, with my words."
Jackie: "Yeah, you did. It really hurt ... and not only because I really like you."
Hyde: "You shouldn't -- like me, I mean. I'm no good. But under your abrasive, bossy exterior is someone I can stand to be around."
Jackie (touched): "Aw! Does this mean we're friends?"
Hyde: "I knocked a guy's teeth in 'cause he called you a bitch and planned to do a lot worse, and you had your dad bail me out of goin' to summer school and more. People who hate each other generally don't do things like that, so ... "
Jackie (excitedly, hugging Hyde): "We're friends! Hey, why don't we go to the Sizzler for dinner and celebrate?"
Hyde (uncomfortable): "I'm not sure we -- "
Jackie: "I'll pay."
Hyde (now agreeable): "You've had a rough couple of weeks. Let's go, kid."
Jackie and Hyde's arc in season three is their growing friendship that they manage to conceal from everyone but Mrs. Forman. She keeps it mostly to herself but talks to Red about it. Red approves because of his experience with her in "Career Day" (1x18).
Fez and Laurie's relationship ends when Fez discovers that Laurie's cheating on him. His friends say they all warned him but still display various levels of sympathy.
Donna says, "Why did you like her so much anyway? She was mean to you most of the time."
Fez: *She had sex with me, Donna. Regularly! How could I not love a woman like that?"
Hyde: "Dude, you didn't love her."
Fez: "I loved that she had sex with me. Regularly! And sometimes strangely, which I also enjoyed very much."
To help Fez get over Laurie, Hyde takes Fez "cruising for chicks". It cheers Fez up a little, but he's relatively down the rest of the season.
Eric never gets the idea of getting Donna a promise ring because Kelso doesn't exist to give it to him. Still, Ric and Donna's relationship goes downhill because of h increasing independence and his increasing insecurity.
At the end of the season, Eric has an important conversation with Donna. He says, "When do you think we'll get married? Before college or after college?"
Donna (laughing, thinking he's joking): "Why not tomorrow? We could drive to Vegas, and an Elvis impersonator can officiate."
Eric: "I'm serious. Donna, I can't imagine my life without you."
Donna (stunned): "Are you, like, proposing?"
Eric: "Hypothetically if I were, what would you say?"
Donna: "I'd say, 'We're seventeen and have no idea where our lives will take us.'"
Eric: "But wherever they take us, you see us together ... don't you?"
This question leads to the rest of their breakup scene in "Promise Ring" -- minus the actual ring.
Season 4
Eric's depression proceeds as it does on the show. For the first half of the season, he dates random girls. Donna doesn't date.
The heartbroken Eric and Fez set up the get-Hyde-a-girlfriend party. Jackie invites Rhonda -- not because Jackie's insecure about not being the prettiest girl at the party but doesn't want to find Hyde a potential girlfriend. Fez and Rhonda hit it off.
With no Kelso and no vanity-driven insecurity, Jackie stays at the party and watches Hyde closely but sneakily. She's relieved when he doesn't seem seriously interested in any of the girls.
After a short absence, Hyde returns to the party with Melissa. Jackie recognizes how disrespectful and manipulatively Melissa treats Hyde. Once Melissa leaves, Jackie pulls Hyde aside.
Jackie: "Melissa's really pretty."
Hyde (still dazed by his attraction to Melissa): "Uh-huh ... "
Jackie: "She's also everything you hate about me."
Hyde: "What?"
Jackie: "You clearly didn't pay attention to how she acted. She was bossy, mean, and -- and -- what's that word you taught me, when you described how your mom used to give you the silent treatment whenever you pissed her off by blinking too loud?"
Hyde: "Withholding."
Jackie: "That's it! She's emotionally withholding, and she's gonna use that as a weapon against you if you date her. I can see it already."
Hyde (annoyed): "Jackie, I spent an hour with her. You can't tell all that."
Jackie: "You had one conversation with Chip, and you knew exactly what he had planned for me."
Hyde: "Because he told me!"
Jackie: "And Melissa told me. I might not have your sexual experience or whatever, but I'm an expert in manipulation. ... Just think about what happened between you two tonight before you call her, okay?"
Hyde (mostly because he wants to end the conversation): "... Okay."
But Hyde does as Jackie asks. He flashes back to how his mom treated his dad (Bud) and eventually himself. Melissa did seem to resent him already, and he'd end up resenting her. She might be a great girl -- but not for him. She clearly doesn't think he's enough for her as he is now. Not a great way to start a relationship.
At The Hub a few days later, Donna tells Hyde that Melissa told her he never called. Donna asks why.
Hyde: "You called me whipped after she left the party. That was enough."
Donna: "Oh, come on, Hyde. I was teasing. Melissa's really cool. You're cool. I don't think you should miss out on each other."
Hyde: "And I don't think you and Forman should've broken up. You obviously miss each other, but what can I do about it?"
Hyde hit the target he was aiming for. Donna, emotional and pissed, leaves The Hub.
Jackie arrives at The Hub and passes Donna, who says, "Hyde's being a jackass today. I wouldn't sit with him."
Jackie does sit with Hyde, however, and she gets him to spill about not calling Melissa and his interaction with Donna.
"Thanks, by the way, for lookin' out for me," he says.
Jackie: "That's what friends do even when it might piss their friend off like you did Donna."
Hyde: "She'll get over it. Don't know how she and Forman'll get over each other, though."
"Tornado Prom" (4x15) happens a few episodes earlier in this AU. Jackie really wants to win Snow Queen, but she laments to Hyde that she has no date. Hyde shrugs. Jackie says, "You could take me."
Hyde: "I could, but I won't. Plan on partying in the principal's office."
Jackie: "You can still do that. But if you're my date, the teacher-chaperones won't be as watchful of you."
Hyde: "Huh. ... All right. I owe you for Melissa -- and I hate owing anyone -- but no dancing."
Jackie: "Five dances, and you wear a tuxedo."
Hyde: "No dances, and I wear a shirt and pants."
Jackie: "Steven!"
Hyde: "Whatever. One dance."
Jackie: "Four and a tux. I'll rent it."
Hyde: "Two dances, and I wear the suit Bud left me after he -- well, left me the first time."
Jackie: "That mustard thing? Ew! ... Three dances, a nice suit jacket, pants, dress shirt, and tie I'll buy you, and I distract any teachers who might be eyeing you."
Hyde: "Deal."
During his dances with Jackie at Snow Prom, Hyde begins to realize his romantic, aesthetic, and sexual attraction to Jackie. It scares him. After their third dance, he definitely wants to have his circle in the principal's office. Jackie joins him with Fez and Rhonda.
Jackie falls asleep. Hyde draws a unibrow on her forehead. She wins Snow Queen, and Jake Bradley wins Snow King. Jackie is elated but can't understand why everyone in the gym is laughing at her. Then she sees her face in a mirror and knows Hyde is the culprit.
Jackie is furious, but instead of letting humiliation get the best of her, she goes Zen. Everyone is impressed, including Hyde -- and he knows now he's in big trouble.
After "Tornado Prom," Eric realizes he'll never get over Donna if he doesn't actually try. Without Jackie setting Donna up with Casey Kelso, Eric's able to focus on his own date life. He asks out Shelly ("Eric's Panties" [3x06], who is happy to go out with him.
Donna's emotional spiraling begins again. She doesn't want to date anyone, but she's afraid Eric and Shelly might actually have a chance at a relationship (unlike his previous dates).
Jackie (to Donna): "Oh, my God, you still love him!"
Donna: "Of course I do, but that doesn't mean I can be with him. He tried to control my life."
Jackie: "No, he confessed his undying commitment to you, and you rejected it."
Donna: "Because the second I carved out a little piece of my life just for myself, he freaked!"
Jackie: "Someone who loves you as much as Eric does would be willing to work through that."
Donna: "How do you know? You've never even had a boyfriend."
Jackie: "No, but I understand love and that it takes compromises and work ... and trust."
Donna: "Then I guess I don't trust Eric to work on compromising with me."
Jackie: "He compromised with you all the time!"
Donna: "I compromised with him. Until I was sick of him refusing to respect me enough to do the same."
Jackie: "Have you ever told him that?"
Donna: "I told him to trust me."
Jackie: "That's not the same thing."
Donna: "It should've been enough."
Jackie: "Obviously, it wasn't."
Donna: "Well, that's not my problem."
Jackie (mockingly): "'That's not my problem.'" [She pinches Donna's arm, and Donna cries out in pain and anger.] "Who's problem is it, then? Eric's, someone who Shelly or another girl might give a chance to let him learn from his mistakes and be happy? Or the person so stubborn she'll end up alone and miserable because she's in love with someone who needs more time to understand what he's doing wrong?"
Donna can't absorb Jackie's insight all at once, but the seed is planted.
Jackie's parents find out that Hyde took Jackie to Snow Prom. They think she's dating him, despite her protestations to the contrary: "We're just friends! He'll tell you the same thing!"
Jackie's parents want her to stop hanging out in the Formans' basement. She can go to Donna's house, but if she keeps going to the Formans', her father will cut her off financially.
Jackie has more than Hyde to lose. Despite that Donna doesn't go to the basement as often, especially now that Eric's dating Shelly, Jackie will miss all her friends there.
In the basement, Jackie announces her conundrum without saying that Hyde's the reason for it. She says her dad wants her to spend more of her spare time with her "real" friends from the cheer squad and in her own grade. She's decided, though, to get a job because she knows everyone here will miss her too much.
Eric, Donna, Fez, Rhonda, and Hyde's reactions are unenthusiastic. But in private, Hyde asks Jackie what the actual deal is.
Jackie, to her surprise, admits the truth. Hyde laughs and says, "That's ridiculous. Your folks are ... "
Jackie: "Ridiculous! I know! You'd never like me that way."
Hyde: "Right. Never. And you wouldn't date a poor, lowerclass burnout dirtbag."
Jackie: "Exactly! Not that you're a dirtbag ... or poor in the non-money sense. You're richer in every other way that counts compared to the sons of my parents' upperclass friends."
Hyde (sensing the awkwardness between them): "So you're getting a job, huh?"
Jackie: "I'm going to the mall. Maybe Halverson's is look for someone pretty to model its clothes."
Jackie ends up at the Cheese Palace, hired to hand out cheese samples to potential patrons. She has to take the bus to the mall and back because her dad took away her keys to the Lincoln.
Hyde feels partially responsible for Jackie's situation, so he drives her home from work when his own work schedule allows.
Eric catches Todd "the Cheese Guy" kissing Jackie (Todd had tricked her when she was down about her parents' lack of trust in her and low opinion of Hyde).
Jackie doesn't want Eric telling anyone because she's humiliated that her second real kiss was due to being tricked by another boy. Moved by compassion, Eric keeps her secret.
Except that Jackie feels like she cheated on Hyde in some way.
By the end of the season, Fez doesn't get terrible advice from Casey Kelso, and his relationship with Rhonda is intact.
Donna has grown completely depressed. She refuses to try to break up Eric and Shelly by telling Eric she loves him. She had her chance to work through the toughest part of her relationship with Eric, and they both blew it. She needs to get away for the summer, and she heads to the bus station -- and California -- to stay with her mom.
What Donna doesn't know is that Eric has broken up with Shelly. He's still in love with Donna, and he can accept living in the now with her and leave the future unwritten.
Jackie tells Hyde about what happened with Todd. Hyde says she doesn't need to confess to him. He's no priest.
Jackie: "I do. I feel terrible about it, Steven. He tricked me!"
Hyde (growing protective): "What do you mean by tricked?"
Jackie: "He offered to give !e a sympathetic hug because of my parents, you know? But he turned his face, and his lips pushed against mine, and we were kissing. I was so confused, but I kissed him back! Just like I was confused when Fez tricked me at the movies and kissed me -- and I kissed him back."
Jackie (tearing up): "My teammates are right about me: I'm a naive loser. God, I've never been kissed by a boy I've chosen to kiss. Who I've wanted to kiss. And -- and if you hadn't looked out for me another boy, Chip, might've done a lot worse."
Hyde (consoling): "Hey ... hey, that sucks. But it's not your fault, all right? I didn't get to choose most things about my life, either, but I got to choose my friends. Like you."
Jackie feels a little better, but her first tear falls.
Hyde: "Listen, any guy you choose to kiss someday will be lucky."
Jackie: "Any guy?"
Hyde: "Well, someone who wants to kiss you back."
Jackie: "Would you want to?"
Hyde (flushing a little): "If you kissed me ... it would be cool."
Jackie: "That can mean anything!"
Hyde: "I wouldn't hate it. ... Hell, I'd probably like it."
Jackie places her hand on Hyde's cheek. She kisses him gently. He responds gently -- at first -- then they're making out with each other heavily. Fade to black.
Eric goes to the Pinciottis' house to tell Donna about his breakup and what he's learned about trusting the moment. Unfortunately, Donna's not there. Bob and Joanne don't know where she is. They let Eric wait for her in her room. He waits a long time.
Season 5
Jackie and Hyde's romantic relationship develops over the summer. They keep it a secret because Eric is sad and mopey about Donna. They also want the relationship to be just theirs while in its beginning stages, without their friends' opinions.
Hyde gets Eric the plane ticket (using Eric's Candy Land stash) to go to Donna in California. Hyde and Fez cover for his absence.
Eric and Donna reconcile in California. Without Casey being an issue, and Eric explaining that he dumped Shelly and never had sex with her because he never stopped loving Donna, they actually deal with what broke them up.
When Fez and Rhonda catch Hyde and Jackie in the basement post-kissing -- unlike Fez -- Rhonda recognizes what they walked in on. Hyde decides to act Zen about it. Jackie follows his lead.
Rhonda: "That doesn't work on me. I know love when I see it."
Hyde (laughing nervously): "Love? I don't love, man. I tolerate."
Jackie: "No, no, no. I tolerate. You're so overwhelmed by my beauty that I tolerate making out with you."
Fez (to Rhonda): What are they doing?
Rhonda: "Acting like two in love dorks. Want to see if Mrs. Forman has any peach cobbler left over?"
Fez: "I suppose I could tolerate that."
With Rhonda and Fez gone, Jackie says, "Steven, are we dorks?"
Hyde: "Nope."
Jackie: "Are we ... in love?"
Hyde: "How's about we quit talking and get back to what we were doin'?"
Jackie and Hyde continue to make out but wonder about Jackie's question.
Donna and Eric return from California.
Without Kelso, Jackie and Hyde's arc consists of figuring out just how they feel about each other, supporting each other through life issues (e.g., Jackie's dad going to prison) and not always getting it right the first or second time.
Eric and Donna don't get engaged this season. They're too busy finding the balance between their fears, individual desires, and how all that affects their relationship.
During the senior prank, Eric, Fez, and Hyde are present. Eric tried to get artistic and paint a tribute to Donna. He miscalculated his reach and fell off the water tower. Hyde leaves Fez to check on Eric. Fez is arrested.
Jackie is afraid to admit to Hyde she loves him. Hyde is afraid he's unlovable, but Kitty reassures him and says, "Maybe Jackie has to hear it first."
Hyde: "And if she laughs in my face?"
Kitty: "Steven, you've loved that girl for years. You can deny it all you like, but a mother knows. And if you've chosen someone worthy of your love, which I believe you have, you'll hear the right thing."
Jackie, meanwhile, has gone to Red -- who doesn't want to get involved but does. Jackie says, "When did you first tell Mrs. Forman you love her?"
Red: "Between when I fought in World War II and the Korean War."
Jackie, despite knowing Hyde would never join the military and dislikes conflict of any kind, decides she'll have to take drastic action.
Jackie finds Hyde in the Formans' basement. She says she's declaring war on him.
Hyde, confused since he and Jackie haven't had any serious fights in a while, says, "Before you do that -- whatever that means -- I've got somethin' to tell you."
Jackie wants to speak first, but she's learned that she has a tiny window when Hyde is open and vulnerable enough to say important things to her. She doesn't want him to shut down, so she gestures her assent.
Hyde: "I love you. ... Okay, go declare war."
Jackie, taken a back says, "I -- I ... I admit defeat. I love you, too!"
Hyde (unsure): "You what?"
Jackie: "Mr. Forman went through one war and was about to fight in another when he told Mrs. Forman he loves her. So I thought if I declared war by telling you I love you that either we'd both win or both lose. I just needed a definitive answer."
Hyde (laughing): "You are one freaky, freaky chick. Glad we both won. Medical care for vets in this country, 'specially mental care, sucks. Have you seen that guy on Sherman? He -- "
Jackie quiets him with a kiss. "Another time, Steven. This war is over."
Hyde kisses her back.
Rhonda marries Fez so he can stay in the country. Red doesn't have a heart attack.
Eric, inspired by Fez and Rhonda, proposes to Donna at the end of the season. We don't get her answer.
Season 6
Kitty is devastated that Eric and Hyde are leaving for college. Eric says, "It's in Kenosha. We'll be less than forty-five minutes away."
As in The Middle, we get the characters' college experiences, but they're in Point Place for the majority of episodes.
We learn that Donna said yes to Eric's proposal by seeing the engagement ring on her finger. Their arcs revolve around keeping their engagement secret, accidentally revealing it, and their parents' reactions on top of dealing with college life and sharing a house with Hyde, Fez, and Rhonda off-campus.
With Donna out of the house, Bob spends his fatherly attention on Jackie. It's helpful and annoying, and then her mom returns to town. The conflict this arrival creates is handled more seriously than it is on the show with Kelso.
Hyde struggles in college. He's smart but not academically inclined. His temperament is much better suited to an apprenticeship, learning a craft by doing the craft. He's scared.
During one weekend, Hyde learns Hyde bought Wilson & Son's Muffler Shop. He asks Red if he can work there on the weekends. Red hears the uncertainty in Hyde's voice and gets the truth out of him.
Hyde says he doesn't want to disappoint him or Mrs. Forman after all they've done for him.
Red says part of being an adult is making one's own path. Red will hire Hyde full-time if that's what Hyde wants. Hyde agrees.
Hyde then has to go through the process of telling everyone else. Mrs. Forman is worried but trusts Red to teach Hyde well -- and is happy he'll be moving back into the house.
Jackie is shocked, but she ultimately supports Hyde in his decision. She's also happy he'll be next door instead of forty minutes away.
Eric, Donna, and Fez are not happy, especially Eric. He's afraid Hyde will end up like one of his cousins. But Donna says Red owns a muffler and car repair business, not a gas station. If Hyde's happier, then he needs to make this change for himself.
Once Red and Kitty learn of Donna's engagement, they try to stop it. Shenanigans enue for a few episodes until Eric and Donna finally get the chance to tell them that the marriage won't take place until after college, which they're in.
Rhonda learns she's pregnant at the end of the season.
Hyde receives a letter in the mail from someone who claims to be his sister.
Season 7
Part of Hyde's arc is learning about his biological father and that side of the family. He's been working for Red for eight months, but W.B. works in music, and that's Hyde's true calling. Red lets Hyde go from the muffler shop.
Fez and Rhonda deal with Rhonda's pregnancy while going to college.
Donna gets the opportunity to study abroad in Paris for her junior year. Eric wants to go with her, and he applies for the same opportunity. Odds are against him, but he studies hard, inadvertently distancing himself from Donna she doesn't know why.
Near the end of the season, Eric learns he's accepted. Donna finally understands and wishes he'd told her. He didn't because he didn't want to get either of their hopes up.
Jackie is accepted togoing to NYU in New York City. She's torn because Hyde manages Grooves in Point Place. W.B., though, just happens to be expanding his business into the Northeast. Hyde will run the giant, new flagship store with Angie's help.
Rhonda has the baby. It's a girl, ten pounds, eight ounces. Fez is a proud papa.
Red and Kitty face the fact they'll truly be empty nesters. "Until Eric's senior year," Red says, "when he and Donna will be back in Wisconsin."
The show ends with the Vista Cruiser driving away. We see the license plate, and Hyde shouts (unseen): "Goodbye, Wisconsin!"

I feel like you’re the only active account that writes for most of the characters that u do so ty for ur services 🫡
I had an Eric Forman x male!reader request where reader is good friends with the group, but has had growing crush on Eric. They haven’t made any obvious advances towards him because, well, it’s the 70s, but also because Eric actively goes after Donna. One day Hyde somehow finds out and doesn’t necessarily out reader, but becomes cold and kind of rude towards reader. When Hyde and reader are alone in the basement reader asks him whats wrong and Hyde basically tells him that he isn’t welcome are them anymore and reader runs off home upset, long explanation short; reader isolates himself with the group, Eric doesn’t know why, Hyde tells Eric, Eric gets upset with Hyde, Eric goes to reader’s house to fix the situation, they both confess, and they kiss 😈
Boys Like Boys (Eric Forman X Male!Reader)
Masterlist
Request Something!
Summary: Hyde finds out about your secret but growing feelings for his best friend and makes it clear he’s not a fan of that. When you start to distance yourself from the gang because of it, Eric starts asking questions.
A/N: au where eric and donna never got together, she likes him and everyone thinks he likes her back. warning for homophobic hyde, calling reader a fruit. slight comphet eric. kinda inspired by girls like girls by hayley kiyoko except the opposite bc they’re boys lol
***
“Hey, L/n, I wanna talk to you,” Hyde says, scratching at his face as he looked at the table that was littered with his paraphernalia. Your friends were coming to the basement soon, and he figured it’d be good to prepare for the start of their regular circle time.
“Oh yeah?” You asked, leaning back in your seat on the couch. “What about?”
“What do you think about Forman?” The question seemed innocent, but the mention of Eric made you stiffen slightly. You spared Hyde a glance, and he just continued rolling his little paper.
“He’s okay, I guess.” You answered, trying to seem nonchalant. “I mean, it’s Eric.”
Hyde simply nodded, but that just made you more nervous. You hoped that he would drop the subject or that your friends would come bounding down the stairs and the room would soon fill with smoke. Then you’d forget your nerves.
“Do you like him?” There was a certain hint of venom in Hyde’s tone, and you couldn’t help but lean forward, resting your elbows on your knees as you looked at him in curiosity.
“Of course I like him, he’s my friend.” You laughed.
“What about him and Donna?” He asked. Done with the joint, Hyde leaned back in his chair and looked at you, crossing his arms.
“What do you mean?” You asked, trying not to show that that was a bit of a sore subject with you.
In the few years you’ve known Eric Forman, he had always set his sights on Donna Pinciotti, his next-door neighbor. You and your friends always teased him for how he was head over heels for the redhead. Always asking him when he was gonna grow a pair and ask her out because she totally liked him back, and him always saying that he didn’t wanna make a fool of himself.
In the few years you’ve known Eric Forman, you’ve had your sights on him. You’ve done your best to never let it show because boys liking boys was a bit frowned upon, especially in a town like Point Place, Wisconsin.
But apparently, you haven’t done as good of a job as you thought.
“Do you think they’re gonna get together anytime soon?” Hyde asked with a tilt of his head.
“Probably.” You kicked at the rug in front of you, the conversation making you grow more uneasy by the second. “I mean, it’s only a matter of time. Eric just needs to man up and ask her.”
“I bet you hope that day never comes.” You made a slight noise of confusion at the statement, but didn’t speak. Hyde continued, leaning forward in his seat. You felt lucky that he was wearing his sunglasses like he usually did, because it diluted the intensity of his stare a bit. “I know you have a thing for him, L/n.”
“What?” You laughed nervously, subtly shifting as far away from Hyde as possible. “Ew. You must be high already.”
“I’ve seen the way you look at him, Y/n.” You knew it was serious when Hyde used first names. “At first, I thought you and Forman were just really good friends, but you look at him the way he looks at Donna. It’s weird.”
You gulped, trying to formulate a sentence.
“What are you saying?” Your voice came out shaky, making you cringe. Hyde laughed unamused.
“I’m saying that we don’t wanna hang out with a fruit. Fez is bad enough, especially with the way he acts with Kelso, and he’s straight.” Hyde shook his head at the thought. “After tonight, you shouldn’t come back. Or you can leave now; that’d be even better, because we don’t want… that here.”
You let out a breath you didn’t know you were holding. For someone who was generally aloof, you were starting to realize that Steven Hyde was a real dick.
“Fine.” You whispered, blinking back tears. You couldn’t let Hyde see you cry; that would probably just make everything worse. “I’ll leave.”
While getting up, you heard people bounding down the stairs, and you groaned at the thought of facing your friends. You powered through the pain and embarrassment, grabbing your things and going to the coat rack to get your jacket.
“Hey, Y/n!” Your heart, which felt like it had fallen into your stomach, fluttered at the sound of Eric’s voice. He gave Hyde a wave and was suddenly by your side, touching your shoulder. “Did you just get here?”
“He was just leaving, actually,” Hyde answered for you, staring at the two of you. Eric looked back at Hyde for a second before facing you again.
“What, why?” He seemed disappointed, and it made you wanna stay. But you could feel Hyde’s glare and knew it would be a bad idea.
“Uhh, homework!” It was hard to come up with an excuse when Eric looked at you the way he was. You gave Hyde a quick glance, and decided it was time to leave. “Yeah, I have homework.”
You didn’t even say goodbye, not to Eric or any of your other friends. You opened the door, raced up the stairs, and out of the Formans’ backyard. You tugged your jacket on, wrapping it tighter around you as a cold gust of wind hit you.
“Want me to take you home?!” Eric’s voice startled you, and you turned back to see him standing in the backyard, slowly opening the gate. “I can take you home.” His voice was softer now, but you could hear it from the end of the driveway.
You took a deep breath. You wanted to say yes; being in the Vista Cruiser was way warmer than out here, and Eric wouldn’t have come out here to ask you if he didn’t want to.
But then you remembered what Hyde said to you.
‘You look at him the way he looks at Donna. It’s weird.’
‘We don’t wanna hang out with a fruit.’
‘We don’t want… that here.’
“I can walk.” You finally respond, turning around and walking away, missing the frown on Eric’s face. It was better this way, you knew that. But that didn’t make it hurt any less.
***
It had been two weeks since you’d been with the gang, and you’d never felt worse. It kind of felt like going through withdrawals. Of course, there was the actual withdrawal. Hyde was your only source of weed, and you didn’t even have the opportunity to smoke before he told you to leave. But the feeling of being without your friends was even worse.
Mainly Eric. Although you had been avoiding him, your feelings for him didn’t seem to go away. Sometimes, you’d pass him in the hallways, and it seemed like he wanted to say something, but he’d end up just watching you leave.
Unknown to you, Eric was feeling like absolute crap. He had been wracking his brain, wondering why you were suddenly avoiding him and your friends like the plague. Whenever he caught sight of you, he wanted to say something, anything. But he could never find words, so he resorted to watching you in silence.
He sat in the basement one day, playing with the keychain that you gave him for his birthday one year. You had gotten it at a Pink Floyd concert that you and the boys went to, and when you gave it to him, it was immediately hooked onto his key ring. He never took it off, even when it felt a bit too bulky in his pocket.
“Hey, Forman.” Hyde greeted tiredly as he walked out of his room and sat in his usual chair. Eric muttered a greeting, not looking up from the keychain. He had half a mind to drive over and see you right now, interrogate you on why you were being so avoidant. But the other half argued that it must’ve been for a good reason, you suddenly acting like he never existed. “What’s up with you?”
“What’s up with me?” Eric asked in disbelief. “The real question is, what’s up with Y/n? I mean, it’s been two weeks, and he’s not even talking to us anymore.”
“Maybe he’s busy.” Hyde shrugged, picking up a magazine to flip through.
“Did we do something wrong? Did I do something wrong? He’s never done this before.” Eric stood up, walking around the basement as he thought.
“He probably just came to his senses and decided he shouldn’t come around anymore.”
“That’s ridiculous! Why would he-” Eric paused, looking at Hyde in curiosity. The way he was acting, like he didn’t care about you and your absence, made Eric suspicious. “What did you do?”
“What?” Hyde looked up from his magazine, seemingly confused. But Eric wasn’t having it.
“You and Y/n were here alone for who knows how long, and when we came down, Y/n suddenly needed to leave. He didn’t even want me to drive him home, and it was freezing outside.” Eric and Hyde stared at each other in silence, the tension growing thick. Hyde didn’t seem to want to answer. “Hyde! Come on, man!”
The curly-headed boy sighed, dropping the magazine on the table.
“We don’t want that fruit around, Forman. Trust me.” He said. Eric was slowly starting to see red with how Hyde referred to you. “Making goo-goo eyes at you and crap, it’s disgusting. It’s like he’s in love with you or something.”
“What?” Eric’s voice was small as he slowly stood up, taking in what Hyde was saying. “You made Y/n leave? Because, what, because he’s gay?”
“I did you a favor.”
“You’re an asshole, Hyde!” Eric couldn’t help but yell. He squeezed his keychain and looked at it as if he suddenly remembered that he was still holding it.
Without another word, he left. Eric ran out of the basement and to the garage, jumping into the Vista Cruiser. He needed to see you, whether you would try to avoid him or not.
***
One of the sucky things about not hanging out with Eric anymore was you no longer had a free ride. But you didn’t like the bus, so you braved the chilly air as you walked home.
Finally getting home, you fished around in your pocket for your house key when you heard someone pulling into your driveway. This confused you because your parents still should’ve been at work. Opening the door, you looked to the side to see Eric’s Vista Cruiser and him getting out of it and slamming the door.
“What are you doing here?” You asked, breaking the two-week no-contact streak with Eric.
“Y/n, I need to talk to you.” He said, walking up to your porch.
“I dunno…”
“Please.” Staying at the bottom step of your porch, in case you made him leave, Eric looked up at you with pleading eyes. You missed the way he looked at you.
Your eyes darted between him and your front door. Hyde told you to stop hanging around Eric and the rest of the gang. But here was Eric, standing right in front of you, practically begging for you to not ignore him.
You sighed and stepped inside, leaving the door open.
“Okay.”
Eric raced inside before you could change your mind, closing the door behind him to keep the cold air out. He watched you drop your backpack by the coat rack and hang up your jacket.
“I know what Hyde said to you.” You froze at the mention of Hyde. “You didn’t deserve that; he was a dick for telling you to leave.”
“It’s fine.” You both knew it wasn’t, but you didn’t know what else to say. You moved to the kitchen, Eric following close behind. “You thirsty?”
“I’ll have whatever you have.” He said, watching you heat your kettle on the stove. Then he remembered why he was here in the first place. “And it’s not fine. Whether you’re gay or not, you don’t deserve to be treated that way.” Eric leaned on the counter, looking at you softly. “...No one does.”
“Eric, I don’t really think he acted like that because I’m gay.” It felt strange to say it out loud, especially so casually. But you felt better about it when you saw that Eric’s expression didn’t change. You confirming it didn’t affect him, he just kept looking at you with the interest of what you had to say and how to fix what Hyde ruined. “I think that Hyde had more of a problem with me…”
That part was more scary to say out loud, mainly because the object of your affection was hanging on to every word you were saying.
The hot kettle screeching pulled you out of your thoughts, and you took it off the hot burner. You quickly grabbed mugs and hot chocolate powder, looking forward to having something that would warm you up.
You grabbed Eric’s mug and turned around, just to jump in surprise. He moved away from the counter, now a few steps from you in the kitchen. The two of you laughed awkwardly, and you gave him the cup. As you both drank, you hoped that he’d forget about what you were about to say.
“Are you saying he had a problem with you giving me… goo-goo eyes?” You snorted in spite of yourself.
“Goo-goo eyes?” You repeated, taking another sip. Eric’s grin at your reaction was hidden behind his mug. “I don’t know if I would say that, but.. Yeah, basically.”
Eric nodded, trying to keep calm from your confession. He set his mug down on the counter, stepping closer to you. You set your mug down as well, watching Eric put a hesitant hand on your arm.
“Can I…” He trailed off, trying to gain the courage to ask for what he wanted. “Can I…” He tried again, but was seemingly too nervous. But you saw how his eyes darted down to your lips, staring for a good few seconds before looking back into your eyes.
You gave him a nod, and suddenly, Eric Forman was kissing you.
His hands gripped your shoulders, keeping you close. Not that you wanted to move away. You cupped the back of his neck, feeling his soft hair brush against your fingers. His lips were soft and warm as they moved against yours.
“Wait.” You pulled away from him, and the look he gave you made you want to go back in for another kiss. “What about Donna?”
“What about her?” Eric seemed confused, like he didn’t know why you were bringing up his crush after just kissing him.
“You like her, Eric.” You reminded him. “For, like, years.”
“Oh.” It seemed like he had suddenly remembered something that you didn’t know. “I don’t like Donna like that.”
“What?”
“We’re just friends.” You tried to focus on what he was saying, but one of Eric’s hands trailed down to rest on your lower back, fingers gripping your shirt and tapping on your skin. “I kind of made the whole crush thing up because… I didn’t want you to know that I liked you. Donna just seemed like... The safe option, I guess. That’s why I’ve never asked her out, I never liked her like that in the first place.”
You were stunned. All this time, you thought you had a hopeless crush on Eric and would have to watch him fawn over Donna forever. But no. The only reason you watched him fawning over Donna was so you wouldn’t catch him fawning over you.
“So we’ve liked each other this whole time?” You asked.
“Basically,” Eric said, and the two of you laughed at the absurdity of it all. When it died down, he looked at you and sighed. “I really wanna kiss you again.” He sounded shy, like saying it any louder would pop the bubble the two of you were in, as if this was a dream and you were about to be pulled into a harsh reality.
“Well, I’m not gonna stop you, Eric.” You said, and he grinned before connecting his lips with yours again.

Hiya, Poorni ❤️! Could I request a drabble rewriting the scene where Leia and Gwen meet Mitch for the job interview based on our Discord conversation?
"Hey, I'm Leia Forman, I'm…here for the interview." Leia smiles. She wants to make a good impression in order to get this job.
Mitch raises his eyebrows, "You wouldn't be related to an Eric Forman, would you?" He knows my dad?
Leia and Gwen just stare at him in response.
"Cause that smokin hot happy meal got stolen from me by Donna Pinciotti!" Mitch exclaims.
Leia raises an eyebrow, "You dated my dad?"
"Y'know I thought he'd say that your dad stole your mom from him." Gwen whispers in Leia's ear. Mitch was able to hear though and let out a snort.
"Me and Donna? Yeah, right? I'm way more into cute, geeky Star Wars nerds. How is your dad by the way? Did he mention me?" Mitch has a goofy grin and he starts to think about Eric.
Leia and Gwen could only stare at him, feeling utterly confused about what the hell was going on.

Long after the horror that is season eight of T7S, Jackie Burkhart is on television in NYC and promoting a movie or something she’s in, and the gang gather around Eric’s apartment to watch her latest interview, and for some reason they ask Jackie what the best gift she’s ever gotten was, and Kelso puffs his chest thinking she’ll mention him. Hyde is frowning in the corner, shades on, and frowning cause she’ll never say anything about the cheap shit he’s gotten her.
Jackie smiles softly, that smile Hyde fell in love with all those years ago and looks down at her nails.
“Um,” she chuckles, blushing and moving her hair away from her eyes. “It was a T-shirt, a Led Zeppelin T-shirt.” Hyde’s eyes widen and jaw drops. He feels all eyes on him but he can’t tear his gaze away from the television.
The interviewer smiles, confused. “Who got it for you? Do you still have it?”
“Of course,” Jackie scoffs, noticeably ignoring the first part of the question. “that thing has traveled with me all the way from point place to every single press event. It’s my most prized possession.”
“Hyde,” Eric starts, “is she talking about-“ He’s cut off by Hyde standing from his seat and grabbing his keys.
“Where are you going?”
Hyde just looks at him like he’s stupid. “The airport, I’m not driving to New York, and I’m not leaving the Camino in the airport parking lot, so let’s go Forman.”
Two days later there’s a front page picture in the newspaper of Hyde kissing Jackie in the middle of Times Square.

I was wondering if I could request Hyde x reader with the reader sneaking into his room in the basement in the middle of the night because she has trouble sleeping without him and Kitty catches her in there but decides to let her be because she realizes how safe her daughter feels with him?
Hell yeah!! This wasn't as good as the others and I am so, so sorry. It's late here and I'm super sleepy but I wanted this done. I'll rewrite it if you don't like it!
Caught
Thunder roared in the pitch-black sky over Point Place. The midnight summer downpour was usually enough to help Y/n relax and fall asleep, but on this particular night, her mind couldn't stop racing. Anxiety flowed through her veins with the knowledge of being a freshly graduated high school student with no paved path for her next move. Her big brother, Eric, had gone off to Africa so he could get his credentials to be a teacher, her oldest sister Laurie was...well, wherever the hell she was, but regardless, living her life. While she, Y/n Forman, stayed at home with everyone else who she all continued to hang out with.
Donna had left for Madison shortly after Eric, Kelso was in Chicago, and Fez and Jackie were in Jaimica. The only one left was Steven Hyde, who stayed behind to run his record store that he so happily ran.
She would be lying to herself if she said they hadn't gotten closer these last recent months. While they knew each other well within the group, they never got the chance to hang out alone. With everyone gone, it left them just the two of them. She came to learn just how gentle and soft he really was. He showed her a side to him that not everyone had the privilege to see. And oh, how she loved it.
Another thing that wouldn't stop running through her mind was her confusion of her feelings towards him. Was she looking at him differently now that they had grown closer? Or was their friendship simply tighter? She had always thought of him as handsome, but never looked at him that way until recently. Was she only looking at him this way because everyone had left?
But she noticed he'd been looking differently at her too. She'd catch him looking at her a bit longer than usual, his hand lingered on her shoulder or her back longer than a friendly touch, and sometimes when they would watch TV together, their thighs would touch causing her heart flutter and race.
And the worst of them all, she kept having dreams about him. Some innocent and sweet, some romantic, and others not so sweet and innocent. She found herself daydreaming of him constantly, always wondering what his lips would feel and taste like against hers. What it would feel like to be in his embrace. To be let in to his most delicate and vulnerable side.
Then she'd kick herself for feeling this way. She could never allow herself to feel for someone like Steven Hyde. And he sure as hell would never have feelings for her. Given their history, it would be taboo at its best.
A clap of thunder pulled her out of her thoughts as the lightening lit up her dark room. She felt so lonely now in that house knowing her brother wasn't next door. Or that her best friend wasn't in the house next to hers. In fact, the Pinciotti's weren't even in the same house at all. Bob moved to Florida and for now the house laid empty for the next buyer. She missed those two so much, it would make her heart clench and tears fall.
She wished she knew what she wanted to do with her life like Donna and Eric did. She was afraid that she wasn't going to be able to impress her parents like Eric did when he left. As much as Kitty cried and expressed how much she missed him, she saw the sparkle in both her parents' eyes of pride. Then she saw how that sparkle would die when spoken about Laurie. And she was terrified of that happening.
She wasn't even sure what she liked. She liked mechanics and helping her dad run his shop, but she wasn't sure if she wanted to get into that field. She liked science a lot, but wasn't sure if she could make it. English was her worst subject in school, so anything to do with that was out of the question. She didn't have the patience to be a teacher. She did like music, but knew she wouldn't get the support or approval from her parents. Animals were her other passion, but she wasn't sure if she wanted to go to school for so long or have the heart to put them down if needed.
Another clap of thunder shook the outside, startling her.
"That's it," she mumbled and threw the covers off of her. She tiptoed passed her parents' room and down the hall. She managed to make it to the kitchen without a peep...until she tripped in the dark and slammed her hand against the wall to catch her fall.
She stood still, holding her breath waiting for any movement. After a moment, she released her breath and continued on down the stairs to the basement.
When she reached the bottom of the stairs, she quietly padded her way to Hyde's room. Pushing the door open slightly, she saw his peaceful, sleeping form. He was faced away from the door on his side.
"Hyde," she whispered. When he didn't even stir, she tried again. "Hyde."
His soft snores answered her. She huffed and shuffled closer to him and tried again.
"Hydeee."
A sharp snort filled the air as he jerked his back to look at her. "Y/n? What are you doing? What time is it?"
"It's almost one...can I sleep here tonight?"
"Can you...what?" he asked, blinking away the sleepiness and turned around to face her.
"I-I know it's a weird request, but I can't sleep and I, um, feel a little lonely...but this is weird and I'm so sorry to wake you. I'll just, uh, I'll just go--"
As she turned to run out, Hyde stopped her. "Wait, no, Y/n come back here. It's fine."
She turned back to face him. "Really? I'm not bothering you?"
"You can never bother me," he responded sleepily and scooted over. He opened the blanket for her. "Come here."
She nodded and climbed into the cot with him. It was surprisingly warm.
He covered them both up and laid on his back with his arm above his head. He closed his eyes but didn't fall back asleep.
She laid there on her back, feeling awkward, wide awake, and her heart pounding hard.
"Thank you," she whispered.
He hummed. "Any time."
She rolled to her side away from him, guilt settling in. She should've stayed in her bed instead of waking him up.
"Can't sleep?"
She sighed. "Not really."
"Got a lot on your mind?"
"Something like that."
"Well, try to get some sleep. You have to get up in a few hours so you can go back to your room without Red seeing you."
She chuckled. "Yeah, we don't want that."
A few moments of silence past before she heard his deep breathing. She closed her eyes and could feel her mind slowing down when she felt an arm slither its way around her waist. He pulled her close and she swore her heart stopped beating. She cautiously rested her hand on top of his where his fingers intertwined with hers. A small smile spread across her face, feeling the comfort that she had been craving.
"What the hell is going on here?!" a familiar, shrill voice broke through the air.
The light had been switched on so fast, it gave them whiplash.
"Mom!" Y/n cried out, covering her eyes. "It's nothing!"
"Really? It doesn't look like nothing!" she responded.
"What are you doing down here anyway?"
"Don't try to change the subject, missy," Kitty said. "I heard a crash down here and I thought I'd check it out. Now, you answer my question. What's going on?"
"Nothing," Y/n responded. "I just couldn't sleep and just...didn't want to feel alone."
"Steven, is this true?" Kitty asked.
"Uh, yeah, sure," he replied, still tired, rubbing his eyes. "She came in here and said what she just said."
Kitty turned back to Y/n. "Set an alarm."
"What?" Y/n and Steven asked together.
"Set your alarm," she repeated. "You're going to want to be back in your room before your father gets up. Because if he finds out about this, I won't be able to remove his feet up your asses without medical instruments."
"Oh...thanks, Mom...?" Y/n asked confused.
"Don't thank me yet," she responded. "It's one in the morning and I'm too tired to continue this conversation. No funny business, alright?"
"Yeah, you got it," Hyde said absentmindedly and plopped himself back down.
Kitty looked at them for a moment before turning the light back off and left.
After a beat of silence, Y/n turned back to Hyde. "That was weird right?"

Donna pushed open the basement door, expecting to see her friends gathered around the couch to watch Saturday Night Live like they did every weekend. Instead, she was greeted by just Hyde. He sat in his chair, a Rolling Stones tee on and his feet kicked up, boots on the wooden spool coffee table.
“Hey,” she said.
He nodded.
“Where is everyone?”
Hyde shrugged. She thought he was going to say something but then he just… didn’t.
Donna frowned, and took a seat on the couch. The gang never used to miss this show. Just another thing that was different, since Eric and Kelso left. Fez and Jackie had their own place now - they were probably watching at home, Donna realized. That just left her and Hyde. The leftovers. The odd ones out.
“Wanna smoke, man?”
She glanced up at Hyde and grinned. At least some things around here never changed.
Five minutes later, Hyde had packed a bowl and he and Donna wordlessly passed the small glass pipe between them. It wasn’t really a circle but the smell was the same, the feeling, the vibe. Donna exhaled slowly, watching the plume of smoke she’d released inch seep towards the ceiling. She imagined it was her heavy stuff - the things that weighed her down and fought with her in her sleep - floating high above. Far, far away from her. Like Eric.
“Huh?”
Hyde was looking at her strangely, and she blinked. “What?”
“No, what’d you say?”
“Nothing.” Donna blinked again.
“You said somethin’ about Forman.”
Donna glanced down at the bowl she held in her hand. They’d smoked it all, and only a charred mess remained. She studied it, staring hard enough until her eyes went out of focus. The black smudge and the cool, baby blue of the pipe started to swirl together. “He’s not here,” she said quietly. “That’s what I said.”
“‘M Sorry,” Hyde muttered.
Donna stood up abruptly. The throw pillow that had been on her lap fell to the ground, and she made no move to pick it up. “I have to go.”
“Hey, man.” Hyde held out a hand in protest. “You don’t have to go.” He hesitated. “We don’t have to talk about him, alright? Lemme pack another one.”
“No, really. I have to go.” Donna shook her head and a strand of limp blonde hair moved out of her eyes. She stuffed her hands in the pockets of her sweatshirt, reading the confusion on his face.
It was the fucking pity that she couldn’t stand.
It was coming from everyone these days. Since her friends had all found out about Eric’s letter. That he’d broken up with her.
She knew it would. That’s why she tried so desperately to keep it a secret.
Jackie had given her a contrite look, and had offered to help her work on her revenge body for when Eric returned. Fez gave her a hug and some of his jelly beans (but also started hitting on her more brazenly). Her dad was walking on eggshells around her - acting as if making noise or turning on and off lights would provoke her into crying fits. But it wouldn’t. She wasn’t upset. She wished everyone would quit handling her with kid gloves.
Everyone except Hyde, that is. Until now.
Now, he looked at her with wide, sympathetic eyes. Donna fucking hated it. Every second.
“I’ll see you around, Hyde,” she called back as she left.
“Donna, man - ” her old friend’s concerned voice followed her. “Donna, wait - ” but the door slammed shut behind her, cutting off his plea.
She didn’t need pity, she thought, as she climbed the basement steps and emerged into the Forman’s side yard. And she didn’t need Eric.
She didn’t need anything.

01x13 Ski Trip Rewrite
The gang plans a ski trip to Jackie's cabin, but Kelo is uninvited when Jackie discovers that Kelso kissed another girl.
ao3
In Forman’s basement Eric, Hyde and Fez are huddled around a map.
“Alright guys, this is no sweat. If we leave right after school, we should make it to Jackie's ski cabin by like six o'clock.” Eric says folding the map and putting it in his back pocket.
Hyde smiles at Eric. “Man, I can’t wait. A trip to my favorite place.” He chuckles at his own joke.
“And I'm betting that Alpine Valley is gonna give ‘The Kid’ many make out opportunities with you this weekend. ‘The Kid’ is in!” Eric says
“What’s with the whole ‘Kid’ thing?” Hyde turns his head in confusion
“It's cool…” Eric looked back and forth between Hyde and Fez, “It’s not cool?” He asked looking at Fez
Fez looks uncomfortable. “It’s not cool, dorky.” He answers not making eye contact with Eric, but is looking at Hyde
Kelso interrupts their conversation “Guess who made out with Pam Macy behind the gym?”
“Everyone.” Hyde says, rolling his eyes.
“No,me!” Kelso cries out as he points at his own chest in excitement.
Eric looks at Kelso with wide eyes. “Micheal, a lot of people hang out behind the gym.”
Kelso nods excitedly “Yeah, that’s what’s so great about it. Everybody saw it!” He’s buzzing with so much excitement as the guys roll their eyes at him.
“Oh, that’s great man!” Hyde says with sarcasm. “Yeah, because then everybody can tell Jackie.” Hyde points out. “You moron!” He screams at Kelso.
“Yeah, and then she’s gonna dump you.” Eric says slowly like he's explaining something to him. “And we won’t be able to go up to her ski cabin!” Eric says getting mad at the wrong thing, making Hyde turn his head to Eric and glare through his sunglasses.
“She’s never gonna find out.” Kelso scoffs and shakes his head like it’s obvious.
Jackie comes in slamming the back door angrily when she sees Kelso. “You are a dog Michael!” She comes up to Kelso poking his chest angrily “A dirty, dirty dog!”
“What did I do?” Kelso asked, acting aloof.
“You kissed Pam Macy!” Fez throws Kelso under the bus making him shriek.
“I trusted you Michael, and now all my friends are laughing at me. I can’t even show my face in the third floor bathroom anymore! And that’s not even the cool one.” Jackie said
“But, I..” Kelso tries to say something.
“No Michael, We’re through.” Jackie says going to sit down between Eric and Fez on the couch.
Eric and Hyde look at each other sadly.
“Okay, if that's the way you want it, we're through. And Monday, when we get back from that ski trip, it's over!” Kelso yells
Jackie shakes her head.” No Michael. You won’t be skiing this weekend.”
“Oh, that’s just great Jackie. Cancel the ski trip and disappoint all our friends!” Kelso says dramatically trying to manipulate Jackie.
“Oh no, no, no. We are still going.” Jackie says patting Eric and Fez lightly on their thighs.
Hyde and Eric smile at each other.
Kelso squeaks offendedly “Well, they’re surely not going without me. Right guys?” In the stretch of silence his friends don’t look at him in fear of breaking and agreeing with him.
“Oh, and did I mention my parents are not coming? So it’ll be just us…” Jackie says making the kids immediately agree with her.
Eric turns around and looks at Kelso opening his arms. “So, we’ll see you on Monday!”
—
In Forman’s kitchen Red and Kitty are talking about Eric's weekend away they’re going to have some fun. They stop when Eric enters the room.
“Now, Eric, you’re gonna be driving in snow, so I’ll put together an emergency roadside kit for you. In case you got into trouble.” Red informs Eric as he sits down at the table.
Eric nods. “Okay, that’d be great.” he says with a smile as he prepares his plate.
“Preparation makes all the difference Eric. Take kitty litter. I can't tell you how many times kitty litter got me out of a tight spot…” Red starts to drone on as Eric stops paying attention.
Eric starts day dreaming of Hyde and him in the cabin with a fire burning in the fireplace as their naked bodies are entwined under some fur blankets as they kiss and sip champagne.
“Oh God Eric!” Hyde moans. His hand comes out of the blanket holding a road flare with a disappointed look. “Oh, it’s a road flare.”
“A road flare can save your life.” Red’s voice comes out of Eric’s mouth making Eric come out of his day dream.
Back to reality Red is glaring at Eric’s spaced out expression. “I said a road flare can save your life!”
“What…” Eric confused before quickly nodding. “Oh check. Right, road flare! Right.”
“Okay new good. How was school today?” Kitty asked Eric with a smile.
Red quickly loses interest as Eric talks about his day at school. He starts daydreaming about his weekend alone with Kitty.
Eric interrupts Red’s daydreaming. “Dad, Dad, dad are you even listening?”
Red sighs “Of course I'm listening. And you know what I'm hearing? You need to buckle down. I’ve told you over and over again that school is so important.” Red trails on
Red becomes background noise as she daydreams too. She thinks about their weekend alone with Red dusting the places she can’t reach. Eric and Red are staring at her as she shakes her head out of the daydream.
—
In Forman’s driveway Donna, Fez, Hyde and Eric are getting the car ready while Kelso is pouting under the awning.
“Hey Forman, I brought my double sleeping bag, you know?” Hyde says with a flirtatious smile.
Eric blushes as he turns around catching a glimpse of Kelso. “Oh. Hey Kelso, um, look, I just wanna make sure we're cool 'cause this weekend is like really important for me and ...so, just, thanks for understanding.”
Kelso stands there with his arms crossed like a disappointing mother's look. “Yeah, I understand. I understand that we’re not friends anymore.” Kelso says childishly.
Eric rolls his eyes and tries to explain to Kelso that he brought this on himself.
Kelso stomps his foot. “I know I did, but that’s no reason for me to suffer!”
“No, that is a great reason for you to suffer! I’m going!” Eric turns around to head to the driver seat, but stops when his parents exit the house to see them off.
“Fine, go! See if I care! Oh, come on man! We’re…” Kelso stops when Red glares at him so he can speak.
“Well,” Red hands Eric a box filled with random objects. “Here’s your emergency roadside kit.”
“Kitty litter?” Eric says looking into the box confused. He looks back up to a glare. “Oh, kitty litter, right!” Eric says with fake remembrance.
“Um, honey,” Kitty comes up to Eric getting his attention, “I put some sandwiches in your duffel bag.” Kitty still looks nervous before she asks, “Now, um, why do you need such a big bag of oregano?”
Eric’s eyes slightly widen before coming up with a lie. “Donna’s Italian?...”
Both Kitty and Eric start laughing. Eric stops abruptly as he walks to the drivers seat. He slides in and hands Hyde the box who’s sitting in the back seat behind him.
Eric starts the car and waves his parents off. “Stay warm!” Kitty yells as Kelso thinks this is some sort of prank. Eric gets out of the driveway with one last wave they leave.
Kitty and Red go inside as Kelso stands in the driveway looking down the street in hope that his friends come back.
—
After picking up Jackie they’re all in the Vista Cruiser on the way to the cabin.
“I have never seen snow before! It is so beautiful!” Fez says in awe with his head pressed against the back of the window.
“Do you know what the best part of this whole trip is? That Michael is not here! He'd just be sitting here, telling me how cute I look in my fur-trimmed coat. I know I look cute, I don't need him here for that.” Jackie says annoying the whole car from the passenger side of the car and Donna sighing heavily between Jackie and Eric.
Hyde touches Eric's shoulder from behind him. “Forman man, what's all this crap that Red gave you?”
Eric briefly looks at the rearview mirror to see Hyde before looking back at the road. “I don't know, he's obsessed with kitty litter. I think he might be going insane. He jokes before the car skids on black ice. Everyone screams.
The car stops and theres a beat of silence as everyone calms down.
“Far out!” Hyde cheers being the first one to speak.
Donna looks around. “What the hell was that?” She asks.
“I guess we hit some ice.” Eric steps on the gas, but the wheels spin with no traction. “Oh great! We’re stuck.” he says with a sigh.
Everyone but Jackie gets out of the car. Fez comes around the car holding a snow call. “Look, I made my first snow ball! I love snow so much my fingers are numb with joy!” Fez says with excitement.
Donna turns to look at Fez “That's frostbite Fez.” She says with a sigh but a slight smile.
Fez looks offended “How rude!” He throws down the snowball. “I hate your white men's winter!” Fez pouts putting his hands in his armpit.
“Get in the car Fez, get in the car.” Donna says opening the driver side to slide in her spot. Fez goes around the car and gets in his seat he was in.
“Eric, do something!” Jackie yells as the driver side opens. Donna closes the driver's door when she was done talking.
Hyde hands Eric the roadside kit he was holding. Eric takes it but when he looks up he sees Hyde slightly shaking. “Go in the car, it’s freezing out here. I’ll figure it out.” Hyde didn’t question him and rushed back in the car.
While Eric was outside trying to figue it out, inside the Vista Cruiser Jackie was complaining loudly. “This is awful! We’re all going to die! And I love Michael!” Everyone groans and yells. “Shut up!” They scream at her at once. Hyde looks at Eric regretting his choice to stay in a car with Jackie.
“Okay, think Eric, think! Why kitty litter?” Eric whispers to himself.
Red’s face comes up in the sky as a figment of Eric's imagination. “Use the gum Eric.” Figment of Red said.
“Dad, what are you doing here?” Eric asks, confused.
“I'm not here, you're imagining me. Now's who's insane mister smart mouth?” Red rolls his eyes annoyed. “Now, use the gum to stick the candle in the can. The candle heats the can which melts the snow behind the tire. Then pour on the kitty litter for traction. Now you think you can handle that?” Figment Red asks Eric.
“Yes sir.” Eric nods.
“Good, because you don't want me back out here. I may be a figment of your imagination, but I'm still freezing my ass off.” Red walks off disappearing as Eric gets to work.
—
Back home in Forman’s Basement Kelso is ruining Kitty and Red’s weekend alone, reminding Kitty about the time Red cheated. In the expense of her happiness Kitty said she forgave the bastard, Red. Kelso smiles getting up and leaving to go find a ride to get Jackie back.
In the Forman’s living room Red is lighting candles and humming happily. “Okay! Candles, Check. Chianti, check. Fancy nut mix, check” Kitty enters the living room and heads toward the stairs. “How’s my pretty lady!” Red smiles at Kitty as she continues to the stairs calling him full of crap. Puzzling Red.
—
Kelso’s bright idea was to pack a duffel and hitch hike. He catches the interest of a trucker, Gus who stops, letting Kelso in.
“Well, hello there!” Gus says in a flirtatious tone, going right over Kelso’s head as he smiles.
“Hey, thanks for stopping. Are you going all the way to Alpine Valley?” Kelso asks warming his hands up by the heater.
“Oh, I’m going…” Gus smiles at Kelso batting his eyes. “Wherever you’re going!”
Kelso looks at him with wide eyes. “Wow, that’s lucky!” He yells in excitement.
Gus starts the truck and continues on. “So, did it hurt?” He asks, blushing.
Kelso turns his head in the confused dog way. “What?”
“When you fell down from Heaven!” Gus finishes the pick up line.
Kelso smiles. “Oh!” He laughs ditsy. “No, I’m fine!”
—
The gang finally arrives at Jackie’s cabin, with the girls first and Eric following right behind carrying all the luggage. Fez and Hyde huddle up trying to keep warm.
“Alright! We made it! Donna says excitingly.
Eric nods dropping all the luggage. “Yeah, just in time, that storm is getting nasty.”
Fez falls to the ground holding onto himself. “I am so cold! The snow has stolen my manhood!”
Jackie grabs Donna and Eric's shoulder as she speaks to both of them. “Okay, there’s only one bedroom. It was gonna be for Michael and I but since our love is…” Jackie holds back a cry. “Dead, you two should take it.”
Eric and Donna’s expressions draw up in disgust. Donna shakes her head. “Jackie, I think we should have a girls night by the fire!”
Fez cheers, he stands and tries to run past the girls to the room but Donna grabs the back collar of his shirt. “Fez is kind of like the honorary girl? Right Fez?” Donna slowly steps on Fez’s toes making him yelp.
Jackie looks confused, throwing Donna a look. “Okay?”
Hyde and Eric try not to look rushed running to the bedroom. “We’re gonna check out the room!” Eric says over his shoulder following close behind Hyde.
“Don’t you need your bag?” Donna calls after them and the only sound she gets back is a closing door.
Fez collapses by the fireplace and Jackie sits down on the couch. “I am freezing!” Fez cries out. “The winter in my country is seventy degrees!” Fez crawls closer to Jackies legs. “We must hold each other for warmth!” He grabs her leg.
“Stop touching me!” Jackie yells, shaking her leg, jarring Fez off.
Fez lets go of her leg and curls up on himself. “Then I am going to die!”
Donna is looking at a cabinet of Liquor “Okay Fez…” Donna sighs. “Ooh! Amaretto!” Donna smiles, picking up the bottle and turning around. “This will warm you right up. Take a sip.” She opens it and hands the bottle to Fez.
Fez takes a sip and then smiles at Donna. “Yum, liquid candy!” Fez tips his head back and starts chugging it straight from the bottle. Donna’s eyes widen as she tries to grab the bottle back from him.
—
Red finds out Kitty is mad about him kissing a runner-up of Miss Wisconsin pageant over twenty years ago…He did not help his case as Kitty walks away from him in a huff.
—
In Gus’s truck Kelso is eating a burger and wearing Gus’s ‘Truckers make good lovers’ hat.
“Thanks for the burger” Kelso says with a mouth full. “Oh, and the hat!” Kelso remembering the hat.
“Well I just like to see that smile. See you coming down about your friend Eric.” Gus says, looking at Kelso and the road.
“Well, it's just…” Kelso sighs as he stuffs the rest of his burger in his mouth. “You know, he's always been there for me. Like, when people used to call me dumb, he'd say, 'Hey, he's not as dumb as you think!' People don't like to talk about it, but guy to guy relationships are pretty special, you know?” Kelso says looking down sad.
“They can be the most beautiful thing in the world!” Gus says.
“I don't know why I do this stuff! It's just like... I get these urges, you know, and I can't control them!” Kelso says not realizing the induction.
“Shoot! I wrote that country song!" He puts a tape, he made in the tape player. The song starts with Gus singing “I've been cheated, been mistreated! When will I be loved?”
—
In the bedroom at the cabin Eric is hovering over Hyde in bed, one hand tangled in his curly hair, the arm itself keeping him up and the other hand gripping Hyde’s side. Hyde has his hand touching Eric’s jawline and his other hand rubbing Eric’s back as they make out on the bed. Outside the bedroom door Music is playing, Jackie’s cries are still heard over it.
Eric pulls back, breaking the kiss. “Okay,” He nods and looks back at the door. “That’s probably just Jackie crying.” Eric tries to shrug.
Hyde nods, “Yeah.” He pulls Eric’s lips to his again. The crying gets louder making Hyde break the kiss this time lightly pushing Eric off of him. “Okay!” he sighs. “Alright that’s too much!” Eric gets up off the bed and head to the door. “Can you please go out there and break that record?” Hyde asks Eric as he opens the door.
Eric is the first one to enter the living room. Seeing Donna holding Jackies hand as she uncontrollable cries in her knees. “What’s going on?”
Donna is looking at the Tv. “Spy vs. Spy.”
Eric sighs. “No, with Jackie.”
Donna looks over and shrugs. “She’s been crying. When I asked she just cried harder.”
Eric nods as he heads to the record player. “Where’s Fez?” Eric sighs as the music stops.
Hyde finally joins them with his hair a mess.
“Fez? Oh! He drank an entire bottle of Amaretto before I can grab it out of his hands. He was dancing and taking off his clothes so I stopped looking at him. But I think I heard him saying he wants to make snow angels.” Donna looks around behind her. “I guess he actually went outside.” She stands from the couch and looks at his piles of clothes. “He’s in his underwear, because it’s not here.”
Eric walks up to Hyde. “Okay look, either you need to go get Fez or try to get Jackie to stop crying.”
“I like when you get all bossy.” Hyde smiles at Eric who’s eyes harden. “Okay! Um, I don’t want to be cold.”
Eric nods heading to the door, getting ready and heading out. Hyde pats Donna’s leg as he sits between Donna and Jackie. Jackie immediately hugs him.
“Okay, oh, oh, whoa, whoa, whoa, okay.” Hyde awkwardly pats her back. “Now i can see you’re upset.” Hyde gets more comfortable as he pushes her shoulder to see her face. “Now listen alright? If it’s any consolation…” Jackie briefly stops crying to hear him. “Pam Macy would give it up to anybody.” He ruins the moment with a joke.
Jackie stares into Hyde’s eyes and then cries harder as she gets up leaving the room to cry in the bedroom.
Hyde turns to Donna. “Well, I tried.”
Donna shakes her head and stands up off the couch calling him a dumbass and jerk.
“Come on, I’m goofing around.” Hyde says as he stand too.
“No you’re not. You’re a dick.” Donna slaps Hyde, pushing him to the couch as she walks past him to join Jackie in the bedroom.

Kelso is still talking to Gus about his problems. “It's so clear to me now! I can't just go around using people as my sеxual play things. You know what I mean Gus? I guess people feelings are way more important than those sеxual urges!” Kelso says looking at Gus with a big smile.
Gus looks like he’s on the edge of tears. “You’re good people son.”
Kelso smile widens. “You too man!”
Gus brings the truck to a stop with a sigh. “Well, this is where you get off! And one more thing. Next time, take a bus. You’re too pretty to hitch!” Gus informs Kelso as he gets out of the truck,
“Oh, Thanks man!” Kelso waves the truck off as it leaves. Gus honks his horn twice as he leaves. “Bye Gus!” Kelso yells.
Eric's voice carries in the woods behind Kelso. “Hey Fez! Fez!” Kelso turns around as Eric comes into view.
“Eric! Hey man!” Kelso greets a wide eyed Eric.
“Kelso! You’re here!” Eric says surprised.
“Yeah!” Kelso smiles. “I got a ride with the nicest guy! Listen, I’ve had a lot of time to think on the way up here, and well I’m sorry!” Kelso pleds with Eric as they walk to each other.
“Yeah,” Eric nods. “Yeah I’m sorry. I should never come up here without you man!” They get to each other and hug.
As they are hugging Fez finds them. “I am a winter nymph!” They look over at him standing there in just his underwear. “I love this snow! Hurray America!” Fez walks up between them and falls face first into the snow passing out from the mix of all the alcohol and cold.
They look at eachother then bends down to pick up Fez.
—
They make it back to the cabin. Jackie is on the arm of the lone chair with her back to the door and everyone in the room, as she still crys. Donna and Hyde are sitting opposites of the couch. They door opens with a bang as Eric and Kelso carry Fez in.
“Michael!” Jackie screams running to Kelso.
“Jackie!” Kelso yells throwing Fez over the back of the couch. Jackie runs and jumps on Kelso as they hug.
“You walked all the way here in the driving snow storm just to be with me didn't you Michael? And you would never, ever, do that for Pam Macy, would you?” Jackie says threateningly.
Kelso looks confused as he tries to process all the words she said. “No?” He says with a questioning tone in hopes that’s the right answer.
Jackie squeals in delight answering Kelso. “Lover!” She grabs his shirt to bring him in for a kiss.
“You know it!” Kelso smiles as he carries them to the bedroom.
Hyde sighs as he closes the door behind them. “There goes our bed.” Hyde says coming to Eric to hug him.
Fez is unconscious with half his body on the couch near Donna. She looks uncomfortable trying to not make eye contact with Fez’s groin. “Can one of you guys please put his pants on?” Donna sighs as Eric and Hyde try not to laugh.
—
Red and Kitty make up with a small kiss and a promise to maul each other at the movies.
—-
Eric and Hyde find alone time in the cold Vista Cruiser.
“Well uh, here we are!” Eric says a little too loud for an enclosed car.
Hyde nods. “Yup.” He looks around.
“So…” Eric carries on, “I still can’t believe that Kelso cheated on Jackie with Pam Macy. I mean it's just a seriously uncool move.” Eric tries to make conversation.
Hyde looks at Eric. “Yeah.” He says
“I ean to risk everything for…” Eric not quit finishing his thought.
“Eric,” Hyde makes Eric look in his eyes. “I will never do that to you. Trust me.” Hyde tries to comfort him
“Really?” Eric asks quietly.
Hyde smirks. “Absolutely.” He nods as he tries not to smile. “I would never kiss Pam Macy behind the gym… again.” He smiles holding back laughter poorly.
Eric’s mouth falls open in surprise, “When?”
Hyde pretends to lock his lips before bursting in laughter with Eric joining him.
—
Later that night Kelso and Jackie are still in the bedroom, Donna is on the couch sleeping, Fez has been laid down by the fire to keep warm and Hyde and Eric are staring into eachother’s eyes as soft music plays in the background.
“This night turned out okay.” Hyde whispers between them as he rubs his hand up and down Eric’s arm. “Pretty romantic.” He grips the back of Eric’s neck
“Yeah. Erics head moves closer to Hyde’s. “It’s just how I imagined it. Just you and me…”
Fez shoots up from his spot behind Eric. “I do not feel good!”
Hyde lets go of Eric’s neck and reaches above his head to grab a trash can, handing it to Fez who lays his head in there. “Thank you.” Fez's voice echoes from inside the trash can.
Eric looks into Hyde’s eyes. “Okay, maybe it’s not just how I imagined it.”
Hyde smacks his lips. “Cover your ears, this part gets pretty gross.”
Eric nods. “Yeah.” He lays back down next to Hyde, both of them covering their ears a little too late as they hear Fez empty his stomach into the trash can.

Our Family Is Going To Be Just Fine
by Anonymous
Kitty takes a deep breath, her emotions bubbling up uncontrollably. Tears fill her eyes as she tries to find the right words. "I... I feel ashamed, Eric," she stammers, her voice breaking. "Ashamed because I'm pregnant again."
Confusion crosses Eric's face. "Mom, why would you feel ashamed?"
Kitty lets out a heavy sob, her shoulders shaking with the weight of her emotions. "You don't understand, sweetie. You've always been my favorite, my baby. I've spoiled you with all my affection, and now I worry... I worry that I won't be able to give you all my attention when the new baby comes."

Idk if this is like too specific but it doesn’t really have to be a big part of the story line because it’s just based of a character(and ofc you can change it around:))??
ANYWAY- so I wanted to request an Eric Forman x male!reader where it’s based of the episode where Eric meets that character Buddy Morgan after he’s assigned as a lab partner with Eric. They become good friends but Buddy ends up kissing Eric and then we like, never see him again. So that but instead of Buddy it’s reader, and Eric has a bit of an identity crisis and realizes he might like reader a little more than a friend.
Eric's Buddy (Eric Forman X Male!Reader)
Masterlist
Request Something!
Summary: Eric’s new lab partner makes him have an identity crisis.
A/N: we were absolutely robbed of Eric and Buddy
***
It all started with a teacher-assigned lab project. Eric had gotten paired with a guy he never really talked to before. At first, he wished that he was paired with Hyde or even Kelso. But then his partner decided to introduce himself.
Y/n L/n was actually a cool guy. He was funny, smart, and rich. Not that that really mattered to Eric. It just surprised him because the rich people he knew (Jackie, the only rich person he knew) were usually stuck up, and Y/n wasn’t like that at all.
The two were walking to the parking lot, talking about the possibilities of their lab project, when Y/n unlocked his car. It was a really nice car.
“This is yours?” Eric asked incredulously. Y/n nodded, throwing his backpack in the back seat. “Oh, so you’re the guy I hate.” Y/n laughed.
“Do you, uh, wanna go for a ride?”
“Really?” He nodded again. “Hell, yes.” Eric ran around the car and got into the passenger’s seat. Y/n laughed at his antics before sitting in the driver’s seat. When he turned the car on, Eric started playing with the window, constantly rolling it up and down. Y/n grinned as he watched; Eric looked like an excited child.
That was a week ago. The two had hung out every day. It was mainly for the lab project, but they finished it quickly and were now just hanging out for fun. They’d eat at the Hub, play arcade games, or hang out at one of their houses. Tonight, they decided to go see a movie.
“That was a good movie, wasn’t it?” Y/n asked as he and Eric left the theater, heading back to his car.
“Yeah, I mean, who thought working at a car wash would be so much fun?” They both got in the car, settling in.
“What do you wanna do now?” Y/n asked. Eric thought for a minute before hissing.
“Oh, crap.”
“What?”
“It’s nothing. I, uh, I forgot to call Donna.”
“Oh.” Y/n looked out the window, somewhat bitter at the mention of the girl Eric seemed very hung up on. “So, is she, like, your girlfriend?” Eric sighed.
“I don’t know. It’s…” He sighed again. “I don’t know.”
“Hey, it’s okay to be confused, Eric.” Y/n reassured him.
“Yeah. You know, sometimes, I feel like, I don’t know. I feel like we’re in a movie, right? And I’m nervous around her, and I feel like I’m playing this part. But it’s not me-” As Eric talked, Y/n nodded along, leaning closer to his friend until he cut him off with a kiss. Eric didn’t react for a second, but when he did, Y/n pushed himself away from Eric. He started shouting “woah” over and over, his breath quickening.
“What?” Y/n asked, trying to swallow the lump in his throat. Clearly, he had made some kind of mistake. All he could do now was play it cool.
“You, you, you’re gay!”
Y/n laughed, albeit a bit nervously.
“No, I’m not.”
“But you just kissed me.” There was a pause.
“Okay, I’m gay.” Y/n smiled, trying to ease the tension. By now, Eric’s breathing had evened, and he relaxed slightly.
“I think I’m ready to go home.”
***
Eric couldn’t stop thinking about Y/n and that kiss. It freaked him out; of course, it did. He wasn’t expecting his new best friend to kiss him. But when he thought about when it happened, he realized that there was this moment. Y/n had kissed him, and before he started thrashing around and freaking out, he was relaxed. That confused him. If Eric didn’t like Y/n like that, why would he be relaxed when Y/n was kissing him?
Eric decided to go down to the basement. The rest of the guys were there. One thing led to another, and they all sat in the circle.
“Where’s that Y/n guy, Forman?” Hyde asked as he breathed in the smoke before passing it to Fez.
“Yeah, I thought you two were best friends now.” Kelso teased.
“Oh, he, uh, he had stuff to do,” Eric muttered, staring at the table. He thought smoking would get Y/n off his mind, but he just couldn’t stop thinking about him.
It was normal to constantly think about a guy that kissed you when you were straight, right?
“What a shame. I know how much you liked riding in his car.” Hyde said.
“It wasn’t just about the car, Hyde. He’s a cool guy.”
“Hey, speaking of cars. There’s this car, and it-”
“Can I ask you guys something?” Eric cut Hyde off from his spiel that happened every time they had a circle session.
“Sure.”
“Shoot.”
“Fine.”
Eric had to word this carefully, which was hard because he was kind of out of his mind right now. He didn’t want his friends to know who exactly he was thinking so hard about.
“Okay, let’s say that you like someone.”
“Gross.”
“Shut up, Hyde! Anyways, you think that you have this bond with this person, like you’re gonna spend the rest of your life with them. But then another person comes along, and you don’t know what to do because you think you’re supposed to be with this one person, but you can’t stop thinking about the other.” Eric’s friends were silent as they tried to process Eric’s ramble.
“Forman, man, are you thinking of juggling Donna and another chick?” Hyde asked. Eric groaned, but Kelso cheered.
“Eric, you totally should.”
“That’s not what I’m saying, guys.”
“Eric,” Fez said, grabbing his attention while Hyde and Kelso started arguing over whether or not Eric should date two girls. “Do you like this new girl?”
Eric wanted to tell Fez that he wasn’t talking about a girl at all. But he didn’t want his friends to freak out over him losing his mind over a guy. So he just nodded.
“Yeah, I think so.”
“Do you like her more than Donna?”
That made Eric really start to think, which was difficult because the wall behind Fez wouldn’t stop moving. He had known Donna for years and Y/n for a little over a week. There was no way he could possibly like Y/n more than Donna.
But then again, Eric had bonded more with Y/n in that one week than he had with Donna in their decade of friendship.
Eric suddenly stumbled out of his chair, running to the door.
“Forman, where are you going?” Hyde yelled after him.
“I gotta go talk to him!” Then he slammed the door behind him and ran up the stairs. Hyde, Kelso, and Fez all looked at each other.
“Did he just say ‘him?’”
***
Y/n was moping around his house. He felt so stupid. Why did he kiss Eric? He finally had a good friendship with a guy and then ruined it by kissing him. Thank God it was the weekend because Y/n couldn’t face Eric right now.
“Calm down! I’m coming!” Y/n yelled as he raced down the stairs and to his front entrance, where some crazy person was banging on the door. He looked through the window beside the door and froze.
It was Eric, who was still begging for the door to open.
“Eric, uh…” Y/n took a deep breath, looking down at his shoes so he couldn’t look at the boy in front of him. “What are you doing here?”
“I came to talk to you.”
No shit.
“Uh, about what?” Y/n was so nervous, but he couldn’t show it.
“You kissed me yesterday.” Eric was probably even more nervous than Y/n, but Y/n couldn’t see that because he kept looking at the ground.
“Yeah, I’m sorry about that.”
“I’m not gay.”
This felt like such a punch to the gut.
“Yeah, I know that now. I thought you were throwing me signals because of the whole ‘I have a part to play, but it’s not me’ thing.”
“But I think I like you.”
“What?” Y/n almost choked on his own spit. It felt like he got whiplash. “What do you mean?” Eric took a shaky breath.
“Basically, my whole life, I thought I was gonna end up with Donna.” Why did he have to bring up Donna? “But then you came along, and at first, I thought I just had a new friend. But then you kissed me. And I’ve always been pretty sure I don’t like dudes, but for some crazy reason, I like you.”
“So?”
“So…” Eric thought that by now, he would have come to some conclusion that would solve everything. But he didn’t. “I don’t know. I still wanna hang out with you, though.”
“Really?” All the dread left Y/n’s body.
“Yeah!” Eric gained a newfound confidence. “And if you wanna kiss and stuff when we hang out, I think I’m cool with that.”
“Could I, uh, maybe kiss you right now?” Eric took a deep breath.
“Yeah.” Y/n grinned, stepping closer to him. “Just to let you know, I don’t have much experience with kissing guys.” Y/n laughed, gripping Eric’s jacket.
“Don’t worry, it’s like kissing a girl, but I’m a dude.”
“Oh, perfect.” Eric put his hands on the sides of Y/n’s face and leaned in. This time, he didn’t freak out about kissing him. He felt calm. Somehow, he felt better than when he ever kissed Donna.
“Do you wanna come inside?” Y/n asked. Eric nodded and was led into Y/n’s house.

If you're still taking drabble requests, may I request prompt 3 with Buddy and Red? Eric comes out as bisexual to his parents and friends, finally feeling confident enough to do so (thanks to Buddy), and Red's reaction hurts Eric the most.
(Takes place in s4. Btw, Hyde and Jackie have a secret friendship going on.)
Hyde shook his head, “You and Buddy?” He was shocked to learn that Forman was dating Buddy Morgan. Moreso than the fact that he was into guys and girls. What was the term? Twosexual? Or was it bisexual? Even though Jackie is bi and demi, he’s not completely educated on the community.
Eric exhaled, “Yeah. We’ve been together for a while now.” Kitty smiled, “Awww. Well isn’t that just wonderful, isn’t it Red?” The teen looked towards his father to notice that he’s completely expressionless. This was something Eric had never seen from Red Forman his entire life. Usually he’d make it known how he felt, but this time he’s not saying anything. Which only meant one thing.
Eric gulped, “Dad?” Maybe he was just processing the information. Besides, not many people were out during Red’s time. Red sighed, “Well what do you want me to say son?” That stung lightly. And made him confused. Did Red not accept him for being bi?
Eric exhaled, “That you accept me for who I am.” There remained an awkward silence in the room. The teen gulped in hurt. “I’m just…I’m out. Hyde man, I’ll call you back.” Hyde started, “For-“
But it was too late. Eric was gone.

That '90s Show cherry picks canon details from That '70s Show and alters others to create its own fictional universe. It's secular supersessionism, where a new X uses the original X to substantiate its existence and give it authority while also replacing the very foundation it's based on.
Generally, T9S is a season 4 AU with elements pulled from other seasons to flesh it out. Hyde moves from the Formans' house on his eighteenth birthday and drops out of high school (as in Eric's vision of never kissing Donna in "It's a Wonderful Life" [4*01]). T9S is written as if Hyde was never seen again from that point on a d (easily) forgotten.
Jackie and Kelso become engaged at the end of the T7S S4 AU, as implied by T9S's canon. The characters are aged up, and Betsy likely being twenty-one in 1996 means she was born in 1975 (instead of the T7S canon 1979). Jay is born in 1979 instead.
It gets confusing in a hurry because T9S canon cannot be squared with T7S canon. They're in conflict and can't be reconciled as a continuous, consistent whole. Another analogy: the T7S universe died out. Its material eventually reconstituted into a new universe -- bang! -- and contains remnants of the previous universe.
Hi! I just saw that they explain what happened between Jackie and Fez in that 90s show (I googled it) but I wanted to know if donna is in all of s3 and if Leia is staying in point place is donna going to stay in the forman's house? Where is brook? Is betsy staying with Michael and Jackie?
Lots of spoilery answers below.
Donna is in a lot of Part 3 but not every episode.
Because Eric gets a job at the Skywalker ranch in California, Donna ultimately decides that Leia will live with Red and Kitty in Point Place while Donna travels between and Eric. But Donna gives Leia and her friends certain conditions, which they break fast. The cliffhanger at the end of Part 3 throws into doubt Leia whether Leia will stay in Point Place or with Jay.
Brooke's location isn't mentioned (neither is Brooke except through implication).
Betsy is a legal adult, very likely twenty-one (and a manipulative, controlling, self-entitled narcissist -- personality-wise, written like the spawn of Kelso and T7S S1-3 Laurie). No indication that she stays with Kelso, Jackie, and Jay while she's in Point Place.
