*grabby hands for more anna info* pls
Oh HAPPILY, I love talking about Anna and I rarely get the chance--
Dr. Anna Siyakayeva is Dottore’s current second-in-command. She holds a few different jobs around the lab and around Zapolyarny in general; First of these ‘jobs’ would be, well, being secnod in command for Dottore. She handles a lot of the process of locating potential hires, picking out potential locations for factories and labs, overseeing a lot of the more general lab activity, and handling documentation-- Meaning she’s the one who does most of the paperwork in regards to specimen, incidents, reports, etcetera etcetera-- All with Dottore having final say and right to veto, of course. Second would be her job on a more scientific level-- Anna personally oversees all studies being done in the lab that pertain to the human mind, and in some areas, the brain in general-- this ties in with her overall job in Zapolyarny, which... Is being a psychiatrist/psychopharmacologist. Not exactly a job in high demand, but she offers her services nonetheless to staff in the lab and palace who think they might need a little help, and one of the sort of... Running Gags I have going on with her is that she frequently offers assistance to the harbingers only to, obviously, be turned down HARD. So in terms of her studies, then, she mostly deals with things like formulating chemicals and medications that affect brain chemistry and generally have different effects on the brain, perception, memory, etc etc. If Dottore’s work focuses on physical form, Anna’s focuses on mental form.
Far more general information about her-- Dr. Anna Siyakayeva is a short ( 5′0″ ) woman of unknown age. Where exactly she’s from is ultimately unknown, though one could reasonably assume she’s from Snezhnaya. Siyakayeva has been working for Dottore since shortly after he became a Harbinger, and became his second-in-command sometime briefly before or during work on Rigatello started. She is a part of what I want to refer to as Dottores “”collection””; Things he has worked on or created that he doesn’t get rid of because he thinks they stand as monuments to his own ingenuity and intelligence. In Siyakayeva’s case, she was the very first person that Dottore brought back from the dead ( for a period of over 24 hours ) who maintained full coherency and competency-- This occurring after a lab accident that resulted in her brutal death. As such, she’s the person whose been working w/ Dottore the longest, thus far.
In terms of appearance, because I haven’t drawn her much: Anna is... I want to say pale but not so much in the sense of her actual skin color but just that sort of pallor that would be expected when someone is, you know, a zombie. ( Side note; I went searching for an art ref I find particularly handy for undead skin tones and I’m gonna link it here ) Her hair is meant to be like... Black and Wiry ^TM, and her eyes are a bright and glowing yellow. She Looks A Lil Jaundiced. She wears a black undershirt, a white dress shirt, A yellow tie, and a brown coat that goes to knee-length, under which she wears a black skirt, black tights, and rroughly 2 inch black heels. She wears glasses. I joke sometimes abt how her stare unnerves even Dottore; The only person immune to it being Gio, who she loves dearly.
In terms of personality... Oh man this is an adventure-- Anna is a very cold and callous individual who doesn’t exactly make efforts to warm up to or emphasize with the people around her. She seems very distant and disinterested. She’s extremely blunt and rarely dances around subject matter or minces her words; That said she does know how to withhold thoughts when it comes down to it, and she does quite a bit of ‘sneaking around’ behind Dottore’s back, going lengths to help Rigatello pass letters to those outside of the lab ( and in regards to any canon I have w/ @/cynicalartisan, even going as far as to organize Rigatello’s escape to Inazuma ), aannd being a big reason why Gio is such a little rebel. A running theme w/ her is that she’s very bored, and gets excited when introduced to new people-- Reason being, she is someone who will very much psychoanalyze literally every person she comes across, so being introduced to a new person is a whole Affair in which she is suddenly handed a new person to analyze and figure out in her head. There was a whole series of jokes I had abt this w/ Nyx where upon meeting Lio for the first time she tears apart his entire sense of self reducing him to a product of his trauma and then turns to Gio and talks to him like she didn’t just Mentally Break His Friend Like A Fucking Cookie.
When it comes to her relationships with the people around her... Rigatello is someone she holds closely, and had a lot of influence on, and though they trust each other deeply I think Rigatello just has too many mental barriers up for them to really connect on a more personal level. Think of... a relationship between a strict but loving mother and her emotionally distant son, lmao. When it comes to Gio it’s- sort of the opposite? She loves Gio dearly and has been a very, very, VERY big influence on him in his life, and they regard each other with a lot of fondness. Gio has always been a bit of a golden child around the lab, and that’s no different between him and Anna. When it comes to Dottore... God when it comes to Dottore...
The “Ex-wife” bit is a joke, but really? Only barely. They truly do act like a divorced couple that’s kind of just “Hanging on for the kids” in that they have their moments of care and friendship but it’s laced in-between sarcasm and sass and frustration. They bicker and banter a LOT and it tends to make people around the lab incredibly nervous, but ultimately it doesn’t amount to much because, well... Dottore is too conceited to do anything to Anna, and Anna knows this incredibly well, so she has no qualms about being the immovable object in front of his unstoppable force. That said, they do place a lot of trust in each other. Anna ultimately is quite comfortable in her position, doesn’t truly mind working with Dottore, and finds that being able to work in the lab is rather stimulating for her otherwise incredibly bored mind. In this way I feel like... the bots and their desires each for freedom are almost... toy-like to her, another source of entertainment and stimulation, but I don’t have fully fleshed-out thoughts on that.
... But yeah in regards to the ex-wife thing I admit I think about them acting like a couple more than I should. Not any romantic feelings but they’ve just-- Been around each other for so long that, at this point, I think they share the same issue the automatons themselves do- No one understands them and their situations better than each other, and there’s a certain bond built from that that can’t be broken even as they get more jaded and fed up w/ each other. They are each others closest companions, even when they want to rip each others hair out, which is more often than not.
Uhhh some looser ways I’ve described her? Focused on efficiency, on keeping the machine “well oiled”. I really like calling her Zombie Mom because she REALLY does have those stern, educated, high-class middle aged mother kind of vibes. My mind tends to go to Willow Schnee, tbh.
