Whatever happens with Eddie going to El Paso (or not) I desperately need it to be about Eddie (and Chris). We know Buck is going to have Big Feelings, as he always does (and I do want him to), but for the first time in many seasons, can Eddie's arc actually be about him? And not be taken over by Buck and his feelings and issues? It's not a lot to ask.
#eddie has way too much to do for the show to make it about buck as it sounds like tim is going to do#confront the reality of his relationship with shannon and finally put her to rest#stand up to his his awful parents and make hard boundaries for them#have meaningful conversations with chris and rebuild their relationship#realize he's allowed to be happy and a priority while still being a wonderful father#i'm so tired and have no faith left but i'm too attached to eddie to move on (for now)#eddie diaz#christopher diaz#helena diaz#ramon diaz#evan buckley#not putting an anti tag because it's not anti buck it's anti poor writing and character favoritism#911#911 on abc

i was writing this in the tags but reached the tag limit, so i copy and pasted it here so i could finish my point. that's why the text bits are so short and formatted a little weird
look i'm not anti-piracy by any means
but as an artist myself i'm not a fan of seeing such a vast majority saying it's ALWAYS okay
you know that includes more than just giant hollywood movies? you know that includes music and films and games made by small indie artists?
and they could REALLY use that money that they could make if you purchased their product legitimately
unless you're brad pitt or beyonce level famous being an artists means being poor pretty much
i mean you all do know how little spotify pays artists right? and the fact that spotify is the standard for listening to music
means that's actually big. musicians only make decent money by touring and even then most of the profits comes from selling the merch
if you're a small artist that can't tour much just imagine how fucked you are
like that's one example. of an artist who could really use that money that you refuse to give them in favour of piracy
but yea indie film makers and indie game developers exist too. and i doubt they have it any better
i mean look as someone who's politically leaning towards anarcho communism i would love it if art was free
i believe people need and deserve art regardless of their financial situation obviously
but the way people feel entitled to art for free when it's obvious you would pay for clothes and furniture etc
it just seems like you don't respect how much hard work artists put into making their art
once again it would be a lovely idea if art was always free and accessible i seriously wish it was that way and think it should be
but we live in a capitalist society where you need to pay money in order to live. and that applies to artists too
and if no one pays for their art they can't live. or they have to stop making art
i know the economy is fucked and people are broke and don't have much extra money to spend
but i don't think paying 10 bucks for a digital download of an album is that unreasonable of an ask
and if your argument is ''well if i had to pay for this i simply wouldn't consume it so the artists isn't getting my money either way''
if you want a nice dress but you will either never be able to afford it or wouldn't pay for it even if you could
are you entitled to get that dress for free?
once again acting like you're entitled to getting all art for free makes it seem like you don't respect artists and the work they put in
in the end i consider myself pro piracy!! i'm all for pirating big hollywood movies!
i'm all for pirating things the creator/owner is refusing to put out there for people to see!
i'm all for pirating things that's creators are all dead. bc by that point the profit is made by some corporation instead of artists
i'm all for bootlegs of broadway shows too!
i think bootlegs and piracy can raise important questions about the accessibility of art
and bootlegs and piracy actually play quite a big part in preservation
like for example think about how many episodes of old tv shows would be lost media if someone hadn't put them up on youtube etc
so yea, i'm not against piracy as a whole, and i think in a perfect world art would be free and accessible for all. but. "piracy is ALWAYS okay" really rubs me the wrong way. because that applies to pirating from small artists too, ones who are just as broke as you are.
just wanted to put that out there.
We're talking about personal morals here, not legality.

🌼 🌸 for the STS asks!
🌼 pick an OC and put them on blast. Call out their flaws, complain about what makes them difficult to write, etc.
ANNA. Oh my god Anna is so hard to write. I'm not even sure why she's so hard to me to write, but she is. She's why editing Storms has gone so slowly because her perspective makes me want to hit my head on a wall. I love her, but she's frustrating.
Anyway, Anna, girlie, sweetie, you're an emotionally unavailable nitwit I stg. You get frustrated about your boyfriend (and is on that asexual spectrum and often touch averse you know that) seeming to take the relationship slower than you want and just a bit later you try to actively move on without addressing it at all when you two have an actually serious fight. You want a serious (and more physical) relationship but you DON'T want to communicate like an adult as would be needed for that.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAaaa. Like, she does know that she's not perfect in this relationship, but it's a just a goddamn mess. Also she does a poor job communicating what she actually wants to him, because she doesn't like to have serious relationship conversations.
🌸 who's your most morally questionable OCs (not including villains)?
Okay, this is actually funny to me, because I'm not really into morally questionable protags (with one Major Exception), but the vast majority of my villians are morally grey rather than a black and white thing.
But in so far as Morally Questionable Characters who are not and never were villains, starting with those in my main focus right now; the Shadowed Dreams setting:
Erica Mathews: Erica was born into a cult, and in adulthood she didn't really believe their doctrine at all, but she was too afraid to act at all to stop the harm they were causing, even as they were targeting the children of her dead friends, and friends of hers who had escaped said cult. She feels like she can't do anything because four of her closest friends, including her own twin brother were seemingly killed by the cult for even the barest of hints of doubt towards them. So she keeps her head down and does nothing.
James Hynes: James is a changeling, and nearly died as a kid for trying to buck the whole broken system of Changeling and Foundlings, because he never wanted to live on Earth to replace some human kid. And he was quite nearly killed for this. This trauma leads to him being extremely apprehensive about anyone else trying to change things around all of that, and that fear is used to manipulate him into turning on his friend Mitchell (though not actually naming him; just revealing there was a conspiracy at all), nearly messing up a careful plan he'd been setting up for years. But James isn't a villian. He's just terrified of an authoritarian system that tried to kill him once already, and didn't want to see his friend die for some (what he saw as) fruitless hope for a better future.
OUTSIDE of my main setting project I have more:
There's Sebastian Harrison, who's tag on my art blog I just linked because I've rambled about him already. He's closer to a villian, but that's not reeeeeeally the role he plays in the story. He's just as opposed to the actual villians as the heros, since they killed him.
In the same setting but a very different story as Seb is Killian Laflamme who exists under an authoritarian regime. He's just a kid, 14-15 through his original story. He's transmasc in a country that in very anti-queer (though not the same one as Seb. Killian is in Europe; Seb is an American) and toes the fucking line to avoid being outed and facing consequences. His older sibling who ran away years prior and has been working their ass off to protect Killian and is part of the resistance. The two end up on opposite sides of the conflict for basically no reason other than Killian being scared. But being scared drives this kid to do some real questionable shit.
Finally, there's one Miss Carsian Sunchaser, the One Major Exception I mentioned before. She's the main character of a four part series where each part follows a different character in a different time, and she's one some real well intentioned extremist shit. She starts out on a revenge quest against the nation that so badly hurt her people and is all kinds of morally dubious, but doesn't see herself that way at all. It slowly dawns on her that she's just perpetuating a cycle of violence and that revenge isn't going to fix anything, and that the whole damn power structure is broken and corrupt, and it need rebuilt from the ground up.

via Today Bharat nbsp; Activists working on the ground say that a case is generally registered under Section 420 (Cheating) of the IPC but the agents are let off on bail very easily. It was in October last year that Nasreen Fatima met Ahmadi Begum in Hyderabadrsquo;s Shaheen Nagar area. Ahmadi Begumrsquo;s daughter used to stay close to Nasreenrsquo;s house in the old city area and she put the duo in touch. Within a month, Nasreen was on a flight to Saudi Arabia along with her daughter, Badar Fatima. Ahmadi was an agent, like many others in the old city area, who scout for vulnerable women and are involved in trafficking them to the Middle East, on the promise of making them a quick buck. ldquo;Ahmadi convinced my mother that there was easy money in Saudi, doing the work of a house help. She promised us that both of us would work in the same household and would be paid a salary of 1,000 Saudi Riyal each, besides being allowed to go for the Umrah pilgrimages,rdquo; Badar told TNM. Convinced that a better future lay ahead, Nasreen handed over her passports to Ahmadi. ldquo;They got us a visa in a matter of days and booked us flight tickets. The agent said that there was no turning back and before we could even process it, we had landed in Saudi,rdquo; Badar adds. However, what followed was a month of alleged torture as the duo were separated and made to work in different households for long hours, while being physically abused. Badar also alleges that she was sexually assaulted. Badar informed her family about her ordeal and with the help of Embassy officials, managed to return to Hyderabad on December 5. On December 16, she approached the Hussaini Alam Police Station and gave a written complaint against Ahmadi Begum. On January 9, Nasreen Fatima also returned home with the help of authorities. However, they say that their troubles are far from over. ldquo;Since we reached Hyderabad, Ahmadi Begum and her son-in-law are threatening us of dire consequences and asking us to withdraw our complaint. We fear for our lives as Ahmadi Begum is running a big racket with goons who help her in human trafficking, especially sending women from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh to Gulf countries illegally and cheating them. Kindly take necessary action against them for cheating me and my mother," the complaint states. ldquo;They constantly call us and abuse us. They threaten to put a case against us, claiming that we stole something from them. The agent also knows many rowdy-sheeters and says that they will even murder us in our own homes. They even know where we live,rdquo; Badar tells TNM. nbsp; Nasreen and Badar The present case however, is only one out of hundreds of such incidents that come to light in police stations across Hyderabad every year. Police inaction and lack of political will It was exactly one year ago, that then Home Minister Nayini Narasimha Reddy and NRI Affairs Minister KT Rama Rao held a coordination meeting and promised to crack the whip on agents, stating that they would be arrested under the Preventive Detention (PD) Act. Stating that special teams would be formed, the Ministers also said that it was mandatory for travel agents to register themselves with the government. There were two main issues. One was the 'khadama' visa (a visa for domestic help), where agents lure vulnerable women with the promise of easy money, before trafficking them off to households in the Middle East, where they are physically and sexually exploited. The second was a 'child bride' racket, where minors were sold off to rich sheikhs and other foreign nationals. The well-organised racket involves 'agents' in Hyderabad and Gulf countries, who promise to pull poor families out of poverty, if they 'married' off their daughters. However, one year on, not much has changed on the ground. "It is a herculean task to get a case booked against agents in a police station in Hyderabad. If the victim goes to the police station concerned under whose jurisdiction her house falls, she is asked to go to the police station under whose jurisdiction the agent's residence falls. Even then, they cite different reasons, and brush off the victims," says Amjed Ullah Khan from the Majlis Bachao Tehreek (MBT), who has been taking up such cases over the past few years. "If you file a complaint with the Central ministry or an embassy about a woman being trafficked, they are asking for a copy of an FIR. However, it takes months of pursuing the case for the police to even register an FIR. Many times, the victims have to approach the Commissioner or a senior police officer, before an FIR is registered on their complaint. Even then, since the families are poor, the local police try to 'settle' the matter by asking the agent to pay an amount. Since the families are in dire straits, they also take up the offer," he adds. Activists working on the ground say that a case is generally registered under Section 420 (Cheating) of the IPC and the agents are let off on bail very easily, following which they resume their activities after walking out. Activist Jameela Nishat, who has been working on the ground and exposing the lsquo;child bridersquo; racket for close to two decades now, through the Shaheen Womenrsquo;s Resource and Welfare Association, tells TNM, "They are arrested for a few times and easily let off on bail because there is no strong law that allows us to hold them for a longer time. Also, sheiks are rich and have a lot of resources. They have no problem fighting cases in court. For example, one of the women we rescued, has been fighting for justice for three years, but to no avail. She did receive compensation from the state government but the sheikh and the agent, who is the mediator, are still walking free." "The solution to this should be more checks and balances at the Embassy level, when they are issuing the visa. Also, many times, the agents also have their own people at the airport. It is a massive nexus. We are not just dealing with an individual agent, but with a parallel system," Jameela adds. Meanwhile, Amjed points out that several meetings were held over the past few years and despite intervention by KTR, Union Minister Sushma Swaraj and the Telangana DGP, agents continue to thrive in the by-lanes of Hyderabad's old city area. "On the ground, nothing has changed and no work has happened. The 'khadama' visas are still being issued and minors are still being married off to rich sheikhs. The police is obviously well informed but in some cases, are also part of the nexus," Amjed says, pointing to a recent case, where a home guard from the city was allegedly involved as an agent, in the trafficking of a woman. "They are a big menace. Like the police are geo-tagging rowdy sheeters and anti-social elements, why are they not geo-tagging these agents and booking them under the PD Act?" Amjed asks. Alleging inaction by the Hyderabad police, Amjed adds, "Another tactic by the police, is that they claim that the agent is absconding for months together, even though victims submit the phone number and address of the mediator in their complaint. Authorities are not reading the writing on the wall. Hyderabad will become famous only for such agents and cheating cases. There needs to be more will from the police to address this issue." Outdated laws However, the police say that there is only so much they can do, as they also deal with outdated laws. Speaking to TNM, Syed Rafeeq, Addl DCP, South Zone said, ldquo;Besides Section 420 of the IPC, we also book agents under Section 370 (Trafficking) and relevant sections of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act.rdquo; However, he also admits that unless an agent is booked under the PD Act, they manage to secure bail. ldquo;What generally happens is that officers make recommendations for more stringent laws when a review meeting takes place with the DGP, who in turn, forwards the proposals to the Law Commission,rdquo; a senior police officer tells TNM on the condition of anonymity. ldquo;For example, Section 510 of the IPC which deals with lsquo;misconduct in public by a drunken personrsquo;. Even today, the fine is Rs 10. So, we take that person, get a blood test done in a government hospital, then send a sample to the forensic lab, which will then submit a report in two months. Then we have to file a charge sheet. After all that, the person pays a fine of Rs 10 and walks out. So the onus is on the Law Commission to update laws according to the present day scenario,rdquo; he adds. nbsp;
