Do you ever find yourself getting discouraged as an artist? I really want to make a sell a lot of art but I feel like I get discouraged quite a bit and worry anything I make isn’t going to be good enough.
By this point, not as much— tattooing for getting close to nine years has taught me to draw on command a lot, in addition to all the other art stuff I do because I can’t not create things— but being an artist comes with a bunch of imposter syndrome tendencies? I do art every day and accept that I’m good but always have room to improve and grow and learn, which will result in fuck-ups or even what feels like backslides. Sometimes I’m overthinking or wanting something specific and can’t quite puzzle out that gap between the technical knowledge and practical application and am convinced it’s a failing until I push through the block either by blind luck or many years of learned skill. The hardest thing’s always that your audience will never take the same thing from what you make as what you might intend, because taste is totally subjective. I think when it comes to selling your art there’s this discrepancy between your feelings and your potential buyers that you just kind of have to accept (I don’t know exactly how to word what I mean, hopefully this isn’t wrong). I’m always making stuff and tattooing is the bill-paying thing I know easily how to charge for but the big reason I rarely do commissions for other art is I don’t know how to price it.
I have a bunch of paintings in my space at work and each has prices based on one of three things— the “I like it but am willing to part with it for $$$” and the “I’m neutral on it and I’ve known it’s $$ since I finished it” to the “I’m tired at looking at it, it’s $ so get it away from me”— or even the “I’m gifting you this because I have three dozen pieces in my house and I want someone to love it more than I’m blind to it.”
I guess that last bit is the most relevant (since this is a ramble that’s possibly missed answering you correctly) because I make stuff that I’m not as pleased with compared to what I planned in my head, but someone will love it in a way that I never will and you just have to hope that that piece ends up with the right person. Best you can do is keep creating because making things, even when it’s hard or it’s not going how you planned, is good for you, and sharing it with others is worth it.

Cello | Anton 앤톤
- in which the reader is a pianist, and anton is the cellist.
fic one of twenty-six.
Tumblr media
Music was a comfort. An escape. A sort of magnet that pulled you in every time your fingers pressed on the black and white keys, your emotions swirling with the notes in the air as you press the keys harder as the more intense parts came.
Being a pianist wasn't a chore. Instead, it was something you genuinely enjoyed. It wasn't some passing thing or a 'phase'. If it was a phase, lord, how did it last this long? You were thankful that at your Arts School, you had the luxury of being able to use the music studio to practice. It wasn't an everyday thing, but it was enough for you.
"For the 60th Anniversary of our school, we will be having student performances. Each class has to send at least one representative, and I recommended you. Do you want to perform?" Your homeroom teacher asked as you stood in the staff room, school bag on your back.
You responded with a small smile on your face, "I can't promise you anything right now, but could I tell you my decision tomorrow?".
Your homeroom teacher leaned back in her seat as she smiled, "Of course. Oh, and if you're up for it, class 4 is sending a student who plays the cello, I think having two musicians for the performance would be great".
The feeling of uncertainty seemed to creep up your back, like haunting figure. It wasn't that you didn't want to perform, but were you good enough? The many awards were plastered onto the walls, the glass separating you and the piece of paper reflecting your face.
In moments like these, you spun slightly on your chair as you got up, taking a seat on the black cushion. Your hands lifted the cover of the piano keys, revealing the familiar black and white keys. Some keys had worn out stickers on them, having been used many years ago when you started playing.
It came to you naturally. You didn't need a score or a piano sheet to play this song. It felt like a part of your soul at this point. The first ever 'big kid' song you ever played.
Moonlight Sonata. As strange as it sounds, it was dedicated to Beethoven's lover and student at that time. In your own words, a lover. You could never play it with the right emotions, always feeling like you were playing it because you knew it. That feeling of falling in love, meeting the one, knowing it's all there between two people; you've never felt it, yet.
Your eyes were closed as your fingers pressed each key with such skill that most people at school whisper about. The feeling of insecurity and worry slowly eased out as you finished the song, dropping your hands as you looked at the piano keys before looking at the application form for the school performance on your desk.
You walked through the hallway, and an earbud was stuck into your left ear, flowering by lucy playing softly as the sound of the school atmosphere overpowered it. You made a turn into the staff room as you saw your homeroom teacher seated, busy clicking on her computer mindlessly until your presence sent her jumping from her seat.
"Did you think about it?" Your homeroom teacher asked as you nodded, revealing the application behind your back, filled with your particulars.
Your homeroom teacher rolled her chair towards the next teacher's table behind a foam wall as she said, "She agreed, did your student agree?".
The looked around the staff room, distracted while waiting for your teacher. Your hands were behind your back as the song in your ear ended, causing you to take out your phone from your pocket. Someone bumped into you from the side as you nearly drop your phone, surprised by the sudden hit.
"I'm so sorry!" A soft voice was heard as you turned to see a boy with black hair, bowing as he stood back upright, him basically towering over you as he continued walking past your teacher's desk to the next teacher's desk.
Your teacher rolled back to her desk as she smiled, "The teacher in charge of class 4 and the event planning approved your song choice. It seems like the cellist from class 4 agreed to perform, too. I heard he's quite good, you should talk to him sometime. You can go back to class if you don't have anything else,".
It wouldn't be a surprise to anyone anymore if they saw you in the music room right after school ended. The school piano seemed to call out to you, like a haunting spell as you took out the piano sheet from your bag, placing it on the sheet holder as you cracked your knuckles, placing your fingers on the keys as you played.
Nostalgia by Joe Hisaishi. The feeling of remembering something in your past. For you, as lame as it sounds, it was a particular piano competition years ago. You remembered practising every day, not wanting to disappoint anyone. It was an international competition, after all, and this song had gotten you that first place that you had yearned for so badly. Nostalgia was originally played with either a violin or a cello, but you wanted to do it yourself, for yourself. You were so stubborn when you were younger that your piano teacher had always made you practice the same parts repeatedly. Those were punishments at the time, but now it simply felt like a memory.
The sound of the door clicking open made you turn to see the same boy who had bumped into you in the staff room, this time with his school bag and a large cello case on his back. His eyes widened as the both of you made eye contact, feeling like a coming of age movie scene.
Anton couldn't take it, it felt like his heart was about to fall out his mouth. The way the sun seemed to hit your face just right, and the way the piano complimented you made him want to play a love song just for you.
"I'm so sorry! I thought it was vacant, I'll find another room to use!" The boy apologised, a little louder than his usual volume but still, soft.
You turned with a smile as you stopped him, "No, you can stay. I don't own this room anyways, you're welcome to practice here. Are you practicing for the festival?".
The boy walked towards you as he placed his bag on the floor, placing a chair and a sheet stand near the piano as he placed his cello case down.
"I am, actually. It seems like you are too, you're playing the piano, I assume? What are you planning to play?" The boy asked as he took a seat, facing your direction.
"I was thinking of moonlight sonata. I've never performed it in front of an audience, and I think it's good," you replied as you took a look at his cello case.
"A cello player I see. Are you planning to play anything...Anton?" You asked as you glanced at the boy's nametag, seeing his name.
Anton looked away as he thought for a second, "I actually have no idea. Even if I were to play, I'd need an accompaniment, but no one else wants to play for the festival."
He hadn't played alone in a long time, and he highly doubted that any of the snot-faced students in school would want to hear the cello by itself. Anton glanced at the piano you were seated at, feeling a lightbulb flash in his head.
"Hey, could you play the piece on the piano right now? I want to try something," Anton asked as he got up and took out his cello from its case, his back straight as he positioned the bow.
You were confused at his sudden request but turned to the piano nonetheless, fingers once again on the keys as you played as you always had. This time, hearing the low sound of the cello along with it. It made the meaning of the song change in your perspective. It sounded like the voices of two lovers. One expressing their love, the sound of the cello, as the other simply allowed their heart to silently agree, the sound of the piano.
Anton had the sheet in front of him as he played along, putting his all into it. Every pull of the bow was filled with emotions. The feeling of wanting someone so badly. Anton was a musician, and no one could deny it, not even you.
You could feel yourself unconsciously fall deeper into the song, feeling the change of emotions with each key that met your finger.
The song had ended, but the emotions still lingered in the air. You opened your eyes as you turned to smile at Anton, who had was scratching the nape of his neck, feeling awkward after ending the song.
"You played well, do you play this piece often?" You asked Anton as he shook his head lightly, "I've had the sheet for so long but I never got to playing it".
That was shocking. He played as if he had practised it his whole life. The feeling that his playing gave you almost made you feel as if you were falling in love.
"That was... amazing. I mean, the way you played it genuinely made me feel things," You admitted as you smiled at the boy.
Anton's ears were red as he smiled, his cheekbones high as he hid his face in his hands, feeling a little shy from your compliment.
"Would you... want to do the piece together? I mean, it's really alright if you don't want to, I'll perform something I've done before.." Anton asked softly as he panicked, watching your reaction as you looked at the piano and then back at him.
"You know what? Why not? I think the cello compliments the piano really well, and we work really well together, too," you agreed as you laughed at his red face, embarrassed from his own question.
To say your homeroom teacher was happy would be a severe understatement. She was elated? Excited? She was absolutely elated when she heard that you'd be doing a piece with Anton.
"I knew the both of you would get along!" Your homeroom teacher exclaimed as you tilted your head, a little confused at before she continued herself.
"She purposely sent you to the music room so we'd meet. Isn't that crazy?" You shared the story with Anton the following day as you were sitting on the piano chair while Anton was on a chair next to the piano, his cello resting on its stand.
Anton nodded as he listened to your story attentively. After one day of being with this boy, you realised some things about him. He was quiet, but when he was comfortable with someone, he would talk a lot. He was quite strong, seeing as he could carry the cello with one hand around the music room. He was also a good listener. He has a soft voice but he has a soothing voice.
"I'm kind of glad she made me come here, I wouldn't know what to do if I had to perform alone. The cello isn't that impressive on its own..." Anton admitted as you turned to him, gasping.
"The cello on its own is beautiful. Just because it's not often played alone doesn't mean it can't. I've heard many musicians play the cello as a solo, and it's amazing. You're an amazing musician so don't doubt yourself or your instrument," You spoke truthfully as Anton felt the same feeling from yesterday engulf his chest, making his breath hitch as he said softly, "Thank you.."
The days seemed to zoom by as a week had passed, and you and Anton were on the way back from the convenience store nearby. It had become a routine for both of you. Before practice, you'd both get a lunchbox, eat, and then begin practising.
"Just because the main character is good looking and plays an instrument, doesn't mean you should like him," Anton stated as you fake gasped.
"You did not just say that Anton Chanyoung Lee!" You stated as Anton crossed his arms, nodding, "Yes I did".
You scooped rice into your mouth as you crossed your arms, turning to look away from him as your closed your eyes, feigning anger.
"Don't be like that, I'm sorry, you can like Ha Yichan all you want, don't be mad..." you could hear Anton's soft voice as you turned and opened your eyes to see Anton with a tissue on his face, about to wipe a rice grain off your mouth, but the distance between the two of you was enough to make you want to throw the piano onto yourself.
"There was a... rice grain," Anton spoke quickly as he wiped the rice grain and moved back to his spot, moving a little further away this time.
That was the first time you felt yourself questioning this feeling you felt in your chest, feeling it bloom with every moment you spent with this boy.
A day before the performance, Anton had asked you if you could accompany him to a music store to get something. You, having no plans on that sunday, agreed.
It wasn't far from your house, and it wasn't filled with people, so that was a relief on your end. Anton came wearing a black denim jacket, headphones on his neck as black rimmed glasses circled his eyes.
"Glasses?" You asked as Anton replied, "Can't I have style outside of school?".
You chuckled at the boys response as both of you entered the store, the bell above the door jingling as the store owner greeted, "Welcome! If you need any help, do inform me!"
Anton led you to the side of the store, vinyls of various classical pieces arranged neatly into cardboard boxes on tables. You ran your finger lightly on the covers of the vinyls as you picked up one.
"Winter Sonata? You seem to really like Beethoven," Anton noted as you turned your head to your right to see him peaking over your shoulder as he couldn't help but rest his chin on your shoulder. You glanced at Anton, giving his entire face a look as your ears turned pink. His black rimmed glasses seemed to bring out a certain glint to his beautiful eyes. He gave off a certain feel, something that you couldn't explain. It was something you yearned, like putting all the love and attraction in this world into one person.
"The both of you must be here on a date but you don't seem like regular music enjoyers. Musicians perhaps? Classical music?" The voice of an old man interrupted the breath-taking moment between the two of you as you stood up straight, looking at the man across the vinyls. You were about to tell the man that you were both simply friends, here on a small trip.
"Yes, we're here on a date. How did you know so easily?" Anton responded as the man laughed, looking at the both of you as if he was reminiscing. "Many couples come here but none of them have such knowledge nor passion for music as the both of you. I usually recommend Clair De Lune to couples looking for something but I see that you already have eyes on Winter Sonata? A personal favourite of mine too, should I ring you up?".
Anton ended up getting Salut d'Amour, saying something along the lines of needing it for another performance. The both of you walked down the street, silent as you still thought about Anton's words back at the store, but as you passed by a toast store, the smell instantly making you turn as Anton notices straight away.
"I'm feeling kind of hungry, should we get toast? My treat," Anton asked as you turned to him as if he had just saved you from dying of hunger. Both of you entered the store. Its interiors were white, tables white as the seats were a beige colour. Three kiosks were stationed near the entrance as the both of you walked up to one of them, pressing the start button.
"What do you feel like eating?" Anton asked you as he pressed a bacon egg toast with a side of coffee, waiting for your answer as you responded, "A chicken egg toast?".
Anton clicked on the option as he added the add-on coffee, opting for lesser sugar, just as you had told him you liked your coffee. You were a little surprised but touched by how he remembered such a passing comment you had made about your preferences.
"What do you want to do in the future, Anton?" You asked the boy sitting across from you as he hummed in thought.
"I want to be someone that can shine on stage, confidently. I want to share my music with the world, showing what I can do. I want to perform," Anton responded as he took a sip of his coffee as he shot the same question back at you.
"I want... to be happy? To live life happily. I don't see any set goals yet, but perhaps, i'd like to perform internationally. Performing with an orchestra?" You responded, unsure as you took a bite of your bread, looking out the glass front of the store as the sun was beginning to set, an orange hue colouring the streets.
Anton hesitated as he muttered, "Can I tell you something?".
You turned to the boy as you raised an eyebrow, questioning the suddenly tense atmosphere.
"What is it... is something wrong...?" You questioned as Anton suddenly sat up straight and shook his head, looking away as he took the last sip of his coffee.
"Nevermind".
The next day, the auditorium was packed. Students were seated in rows, phones in hand, ready to record as they tapped their feet, waiting for your performance with Anton. Anton was popular but his quiet nature made it hard for his 'fan club' to interact with him. You were sat on the chair backstage, knee bouncing as you felt the nerves beginning to creep in. This was important. You and Anton had practised for way too long for you to mess it up on the actual day.
"Nervous?" You heard a voice behind you as you saw Anton in a black suit. He had his hair combed straight and he wore two rings on his middle and pointer finger. Your white dress complimented his perfectly, the shiny diamonds on the chest area shining under the stage lights as you nodded lightly.
"What if I mess up and play a wrong note, or I get nervous and trip all over my piano sheets?" You asked Anton as he bent down, holding your hands in his as he pushed away some stray hairs on your face with a soft smile.
"We've practised this every single day and we've perfected it. You're the best pianist I know, and today, we'll show them exactly that. You'll do well, don't worry," Anton spoke with such sincerity that you could feel your nerves slowly leaving you. You looked up from the floor to give Anton a smile, relieved to have such a person by your side.
"Now, for the performance we have all been waiting for... let's give it up for our schools very own cello and piano duo!" The student emcee announced as Anton got up, adjusting his suit as he held out a hand.
"Let's go?" Anton asked as you took his hand, nodding.
"Let's show them," You responded as both of you walked out onto the stage, giving a bow as the both of you went to your respective instruments, getting ready to start.
You gave Anton a glance as he nodded.
One, Two, Three.
Anton glided his bow along the strings of his cello as you joined in with the piano several seconds later. The sound wasn't the same as when both of you had practised in the music room, but the feeling was the same. Something was different, not in terms of the music but, the feeling inside you.
Ah, how it dawned on you. Moonlight Sonata, now had its meaning. That feeling you had yearned for so long, it was there, and it was in the form of Anton Lee. He showed you how it felt to fall in love, feeling like you always had someone on your side, and how it felt to finally find the one.
Anton had felt it from the start. From the moment the both of you met in the music room, to the meals you shared everyday, he knew. He had fallen for you. He hadn't asked you out to the music store for fun, he was basically asking you to choose a song for him to play for you, and as the piece ended, the both of you couldn't help but make eye contact as the crowd of students and school staff erupted into applause.
You hadn't seen Anton since the end of your performance, and the festival was ending. The sun was beginning to set, the sky being the same orange it was yesterday. You walked down the hallway slowly, thinking about the performance you and Anton shared a few hours ago, until a student bumped into you.
"Anton is about to perform in the school courtyard! He has his cello and he's about to perform!" A student shouted as they ran in the direction of the courtyard.
"Anton? Perform? In the courtyard?" You couldn't help but question as you too found yourself among the crowd of students heading to the courtyard.
Everyone held their phones or were staring intensely at the boy, wondering why he hadn't started yet. You were on the second level, looking down from the hallway as you saw Anton in the same black suit, bow in hand and cello in the other. He looked up, making eye contact as you felt your cheeks rise, a smile on your face as you gave him a thumbs up, unsure of what he was up to, but nonetheless, still supporting him.
Anton closed his eyes as he pushed his bow string across the strings of the cello, the sound washing over you as you realised what the song was.
Winter Sonata.
The exact song you had gotten from the music store yesterday. Anton hadn't simply brought you there to look around or buy something for himself. He had basically made you choose the song he would use to confess to you.
Loud gasps were heard as Anton played, his soul being put into the song as he played, not missing a single note. The girl standing next to you turned to you as she whispered-shouted, "Did you know he had a surprise performance?!".
You shook your head softly as your eyes were glued onto the boy on the first floor. You hadn't had a single clue. Was he really using this song as a confession?
"Will you give me the honor of being your accompanist?" The familiar voice of the boy asked as the song ended, everyone waiting for your response as Anton looked straight at you.
Was that even a question at this point?
"Yes".
The both of you continued on to play in international competitions, happily winning the school multiple titles while the both of you had a reason to be with each other and be each others accompanists.
The cello and the piano, funny isn't it?

My name is Mafuki and I run an art group for twisted wonderland! I am looking for twst yume artists who are also looking for friends!
The goal of our group will be to collaborate to create artpieces together (ex. art style challenge), and collab with each other (ex, 2 artists one base)! Something I'd love is for us to create a video with our ocs and their love interests together! All of this is non-profit so no one, including me will be gaining any monetary gain (unless you wanna post YOUR own pieces online aka not the other members unless you get permission). This is all for fun and you own the pieces you draw! We don't gatekeep pieces lol
We would love to make a group-home for people who just love twst and are passionate about it! The goal is for us to become a really close group of friends who just…love twst. If you have any questions, feel free to comment/pm me!
I've been put in a bind due to a missing member so if someone can start a prompt right away I would be very appreciative!
p.s. currently most members like to rp if youre into that

𝐈𝐌𝐏𝐎𝐑𝐓𝐀𝐍𝐓
Just because you reply and fill in an introduction does not mean you'll automatically get an invite link to the discord group.
Due to the intent of the group, I would like to stay as far away from Drama as possible but also allow for there to be a safe space for anyone to vent and feel accepted. The goal is to operate similarly to Nightcord@25 [a project sekai reference].
As the person who decided to create the group, I hold all responsibility for anything that goes wrong and as such, I'll be speaking to each potential member first through chatting. There is nothing you need to do except be yourself. This is simply a vibe check. I'm looking to foster a safe environment for all those involved and will not tolerate extreme personas.
❀⌇Guidelines Before Applying:
➼ Must be between 16-25 (if you're slightly older, it's still okay! Around 20's is preferred but vibes are the most important aspect) ➼ Your race, gender, sexuality of both you and oc WILL NOT eliminate you. The goal is for this to be a safe space and as such, the only thing that matters is personality. Timezone also does not matter! ➼If you have a mental illness that is okay!! As long as you won't let it effect/use it as an excuse to hurt other members it is alright. Everyone I've recruited (including myself) has experience with various mental illnesses. ➼Even though this is an art group, art ability does NOT matter!! The goal is for us to have fun, and all that matters is that you're passionate about twst. And that you actually draw lol No need to know how to edit videos! As long as I have the assets I can edit the videos for the group! Bases are also okay with credit. ➼Since we're all making yume art, I'd like to try to keep to different characters per person ➼ Remain Relatively: Drama free, generally will have a good vibe aka not being judgmental, and is alright with criticism. Communicates well with other members and does not belittle.
Current taken characters: Azul, Malleus, Epel, Ruggie, Idia, Rollo, Rook, Lilia Potentially Taken characters**: Riddle, Jade, Leona, Kalim, Trey, Deuce
**DISCLAIMER: I accept people on a first come-first taken basis. It's purely on vibes so if I like someone's vibes then they're accepted along with their Yume choice. If I don't like their vibes, then I'll let someone else take that yume for the group.
𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐕𝐈𝐓𝐈𝐄𝐒
If you're cool with everything, feel free to fill out this form and dm it to me! I'll speak with you shortly :3
TEMPLATE: ❀⌇Name (preferred, not irl obviously): ❀⌇Age or Age range: ❀⌇Timezone: ❀⌇Yume Interest: ❀⌇MBTI and Enneagram (not necessary --> I know psychology quite well so I can usually tell your top 3 so don't worry if you're mistyped or don't know your type [This is just for me to keep in mind so I can be mindful of you as a person]): ❀⌇Other interests: ❀⌇Important things to note (ie. accommodations): ❀⌇Triggers: ❀⌇Extra Info: ❀⌇Art Samples (just so I know you are able to draw! "Fighting is one of the most unpredictable, chaotic sports on the planet yet you have coaches that think the tire drill is effective because they saw it in a Rocky movie. A lot of gyms outside of the ones producing good to great competitors treat fighting like it is a closed sport when in reality, the best knowledge I have gained for my training and coaching has come from basketball drilling & conditioning methods and not methods I’ve received from coaches who focus exclusively on combat sports because many combat sports have almost no extensive theory or pedagogy and treats fighting like a multiple-choice exam. The way many participants view combat sports is entirely wrong because they completely undervalue how much environmental factors play a large role in one’s fighting ability regardless of how they look on the pads or in the gym. Even at the highest level of fighting, you’ll have athletes get paid to fight under a certain ruleset such as in a cage, and never train once inside a cage throughout their whole fight camp leaving them at a tremendous disadvantage that will get exposed even if there is early success prepping in that manner."
Extra relevant for historical fighting where we should be extra careful about context or environmental factors, and with the diversity of rulesets and training areas we could learn a lot by both participating in it all whenever we can, and from picking up ideas from other sports that happen in a variety of competition spaces, or dances from various different social contexts etc.

Another thing that upsets me about usopp haters! (im sorry, is just those people drive me nuts and for my mental health ill never interact with them because its not worth it, so I prefer to interact with you and other fans so we can all be "yeah those people are crazy, Usopp is great 🥂 we have good taste" together. Ehem I'm missing the point)
What upsets me is when they act like Usopp didn't have any moments in pre-ts, and they act like his only badass moments are shooting the world goverment flag (not even then, because they're always like "actually that was Sogeking" 😤 jokes over man, you are being obtuse on purpose) and that moment in Dressrosa, now I can't speak for post-ts because 😶 I'm still not caught up (stuck in post war, I'll keep going eventually), but my boy has many moments in pre ts. My favorite one being his fight against Perona, and one of the reasons its my favorite is because it comes very soon after Usopp has been feeling useless and weak (ok soon after for us, in universe it seems that Oda likes to leave certain characterizations in the arc that they appear and never mention them again...)
The anime quite literally spells it out for you that Usopp is incredibly important, and actually the reason why they didnt just all die in Thriller Bark, and there's STILL people out there saying Usopp is the most useless member *eating the drywall in my home*
Sorry I needed to get that off my chest.
If nobody got me, I know you Usopp fans got me 😔
Always fun to speak with Usopp fans on here! There’s a great community and a lot of great conversations to be had.
I really think a large part of this kind of fan reaction to Usopp is twofold. I also think a lot of these points are also applicable to Nami tbh. Firstly, I think that Usopp’s particular skills are undervalued by a lot of fans. He’s a long range fighter, not a close range one, and a lot of fans simply aren’t interested in that kind of battle because it’s not super flashy in the same way. His strengths also usually aren’t catered to in universe. For one reason or another he doesn’t get the chance to park himself somewhere and really get to do his job as sniper, and maybe if he did it would be a different story? I’m not sure though. His other skills (engineering, art, etc) also aren’t the coolest or flashiest but are necessary for the crew to function and don’t get a lot of hype in the same way either. In the same vein, I think a lot of people forget he’s forced up against literal monsters most of the time and in battles that aren’t his forte fighting wise, so in comparison he doesn’t get to shine. However he’s canonically extremely talented at basically everything he does.
Secondly, I think a lot of what he adds to the story and the crew is emotionally and character driven, and people who come to One Piece for the fights aren’t necessarily going to be drawn to that kind of contribution to the plot. If you’re interested in more low key character drama/development you may be compelled to pay attention to him in the story. But I think a good amount of people aren’t as interested in that element of the story and so don’t really pay attention.
There’s also the matter of the way some of his accomplishments are framed in universe tbh. Usopp is considered by a lot of fans to be kind of a meme character and so is treated like that accordingly. This includes all the Sogeking jokes and other things that mean that he isn’t really taken seriously by a lot of people unfortunately. But I think if anyone takes a closer look beyond the surface they’ll be able to see a really interesting character underneath! Especially pre time skip like you mentioned
I hope you enjoy your journey as you go further into the story! There’s a lot but it’s a great time and a lot of fun moments upcoming.

✨Ramona Does A Stunt for Envy✨
Tumblr media
Tumblr media
I’m back yall! But I’m back into my Scott Pilgrim phase. Here’s a fic I did about Ramona and Envy :3
Please note that it’s rated Mature due to suggestive themes!
You can also read it right here on tumblr! Just go under the cut :3
More Scott Pilgrim fics and art coming soon!
“Ramona! Come into my trailer before we have to start shooting this next scene. I have another stunt for you.”
Ramona rolled her eyes as she hung by her waist from the cables to the ceiling. Working on this movie had to be one of the most exhausting and stupidest things she ever had to do. It felt like an obstacle course she had to go through everyday so she could get to Todd Ingram and figure out what happened to that guy she kinda went out with one time.
What was worst of all was Envy Adams, Todd’s famous bitchy girlfriend. God, what a pain it was to work for her. She constantly asked Ramona to do “stunts” for her. “Stunts” being a code word for whatever the hell she needed her to do that day. From actually doing an intense stunt, to picking up her laundry, to feeding her pet dog, Ramona did everything Envy asked for.
But Ramona was willing to do anything to get Scott Pilgrim back.
Ramona sighed, “I’ll be right there. Can you lower me please?” A crew member gently lowered her to the ground and she caught up with Envy who was a few feet ahead of her.
No words were exchanged between them on their way to the trailer. Ramona studied her face. She was so calm yet so bold and confident. Her deep eye shadow complimented her eye shape. Her red hair flowed perfectly down her face and shoulders, framing her like the Mona Lisa. She really was hotter in person.
Soon enough, they arrived and entered Envy’s trailer. She shut the door behind them.
Envy’s trailer was as extravagant as she was. It was covered in luxury items. Ramona felt like she was in a limousine. Prada pillows were placed on high quality leather couches with Gucci tableware strewn about the side tables and sink. The entire trailer reeked of Chanel No. 5. A tiny closet was filled to the brim with luxury brands that Ramona couldn’t recognize or care about.
“What did you need me in here for?” Ramona asked.
Envy walked over to the couch and plopped herself down. She beckoned Ramona to sit next to her. She obeyed. As soon as Ramona sat down, Envy rearranged herself to be lying down, with her long legs stretching onto Ramona’s lap.
Ramona froze. It had been a while since she had gotten so close with a woman… Three years ago…? That doesn’t matter right now. Envy is happening right now. Envy propped her upper body up and pulled lip gloss out of her pocket. She dangled it in front of Ramona’s face. Her eyes widened.
“I know I have a whole makeup department to do all this work, but I am playing you after all. I need you to do my lips the way you do yours.”
“D-do your lips…?” Ramona muttered. Her mind wandered off into dangerous territory. “Get it together,” she told herself internally. She shook her head in an attempt to get her mind out of the gutter.
Ramona fumbled the lip gloss in her sweaty palms. She felt like she didn’t even have the strength to unscrew the cap. Envy was growing impatient. “Hey! Hurry up, Flowers! I don’t have all day.”
After what felt like an hour, Ramona took the wand out of the gloss. Envy opened her mouth slightly, ready for Ramona. She took a deep breath and slowly began to put the gloss all over Ramona’s lips. Her hands felt shaky, but her application was crisp. She took in the silhouette of Envy’s lips in excruciating detail.
All while, Envy looked at her with her big black eyes. Her big black beautiful eyes. Like those of a siren. That’s what she was. A siren. Luring men and women into her grasp just to crush them into pieces. That’s what she was doing to Ramona. She tried her best to avoid eye contact, but she struggled immensely. It didn’t matter where she looked, her nerves raged on. The way Envy’s chest rose and fell with each breath was addicting to watch.
Ramona was nearly done with applying lip gloss when her hands got too shaky for her own good. Her hand slipped causing a small streak of lip gloss to be marked to the corner of her mouth right outside the intended area. She let out a small gasp at her own action.
Envy made an annoyed sound and rolled her eyes in disgust. “Nice job, Flowers,” she remarked sarcastically.
“Sit up so I can fix it,” she pleaded. Envy positioned herself to be closer to Ramona’s face. Ramona’s thumb softly scraped the lip gloss off of Envy’s chin. Each light caress of her skin brought the two’s faces closer and closer. Their breaths becoming hotter and heavier by the second.
Before Ramona could even fully realize it, their lips were interlocked. Envy draped her arms around Ramona’s shoulders and Ramona’s hands found their way to Envy’s sides. Ramona instinctively held onto her tightly and tried her best to pull her in due to the limited space. Soon, she wrapped her arms around her entire body, fully embracing every part of Envy Adams.
Envy got up on her knees without parting from Ramona’s lips. She began to run her fingers through Ramona’s short and colorful hair and pushed her face into hers as much as humanly possible.
It was hot.
It was messy.
There were…
Sparks.
Ramona’s heart dropped when she felt them. She quickly pushed Envy off of her as she started to hyperventilate. Envy looked at her with an annoyed yet mischievous grin. She was breathing heavily as well.
“You ruined my lip gloss…” Envy sighed out.
“I can’t…” Ramona said in between breaths.
“Why’d you stop, baby?”
“Envy, I can’t-“ Ramona repeated. She was stopped by Envy’s index finger being pushed against her lips.
“I know you’re looking for Scott.”
Ramona tensed at the comment. “W-what are you-“
“I’m not stupid. Roxie told Lucas Lee who told Todd who told me all about your little plan to find out who kidnapped Scott. Well, sorry to burst your bubble, but it wasn’t me or Todd. We could care less about that loser.”
Ramona could only stare at her. Great. She still hasn’t found a solid lead on Scott’s disappearance and she has a sloppy make out session with his ex-girlfriend. Not only did they make out, but she began to feel some way about her. She felt the guilt spread all over her body. Ramona groaned and buried her head in her hands.
“No… no…” Ramona moaned out. She resisted the urge to cry.
Envy giggled at the sight. “Don’t worry. I make a lot of girls realize something about themselves,” She sighed as she pushed some hair out of Ramona’s sweaty face.
Ramona quickly got up and walked towards the door. “I have to go…” Ramona squeaked out as she put her hand on the doorknob. Somehow, Envy caught up to her. She slammed her hand next to Ramona’s face into the metal walls of the trailer. The sound made Ramona jump.
With one arm extended next to Ramona’s face and Envy standing tall and confident in front of her, Ramona felt herself getting smaller. Her knees buckled slightly as she looked into Envy’s eyes. “Before you go…” Envy got slowly and slowly closer to Ramona’s face. Her breath felt hot and heavy as she breathed down Ramona’s neck.
“If Scott ever breaks your heart, you can always come running back to me, sweetheart.”
Ramona felt herself shaking. Envy planted a small kiss on her cheek. Her unoccupied hand landing on Ramona’s side. Ramona’s heart skipped a beat and she gasped. Envy giggled at the sight.
All of a sudden, Ramona felt herself being pushed out of the door. She lost her balance and landed on her forearm. She whipped her head around to see a smiling Envy closing the door on her.
Young Neil was waiting outside in his golf cart. He seemed unaffected by Ramona’s fall. “Oh hey Ramona. Didn’t see you down there,” He commented.
Ramona said nothing as she climbed into the golf cart. Young Neil began to drive. “So. Did you help Envy out with the stunt she needed?”
“I guess you could say that,” Ramona answered solemnly.
Ramona stared at Envy’s trailer as it shrank and shrank into the distance. The place that changed her life.

WIP Questionnaire
Thank you @late-to-the-fandom for the tag! This is so different from most WiP tags, which I love. It's definitely is a good way to step back and look at my WiP from its original iteration to where it's currently at. Going to be answering this about Tangled Web of Fate as a whole, seeing as it is my primary ongoing WiP.
No pressure tagging @resuri-art, @sowideasea, @crush3dmary, @bakawitch, and anyone else that wants to do this (easy copy/paste Questions list at the bottom)
1. What's the first part of your WIP that you created?
*nervously looks around* Uhhhh….the first chapter? Before that, it was just kinda all randomness in my head. I honestly had no idea where I was going with it aside from the basic setup of dynamics and getting Atem resurrected. TWoF was the 1st fic I had actually started writing and posting, and regrettably I did a lot of hot-off-the-press in the beginning. The chapters just kinda came to me, I wrote them, then posted. I did eventually start jotting down plot points, but there are several that are no longer applicable since either they were removed entirely or I went a completely different route.
2. If your story was a TV show, what would the theme song/intro be?
Okay, so when it was all just a ‘show’ in my head, it was meant to be more action packed and more focused on battles between the 3 elementals versus the gods (think Inuyasha with YGO characters lol). The intro I have always had in mind with that version is State of My Head by Shinedown. This still applies as a main theme to describe Bakura, Malik, and Kat’s existence prior to the story’s start. Overall, though, with the direction the story ended up in, I think Lost by Linkin Park is more fitting, as it describes the struggles of pretty much everyone in the story.
3. What are your favorite characters that you made? Why?
So, this might seem a bit surprising…but the answer would have to be Apep. I love writing Marik’s interactions with it and I love writing its dialogue.
(For those that haven’t read that far, or TWoF at all, Apep refers to itself as we/us, and others that know of its existence use it/its when referring to Apep, though I believe I may have accidentally used they/them once or twice and been too lazy to go back and correct it)
4. What other pieces of media do you think your fanbase would share?
Do the two backstories I wrote for this AU’s Bakura and Malik (Yamima) count? I know there is a small fan-following of my OC (which is still surprising to me), so I'm guessing anything she's included in lol
5. What has been your biggest struggle with your WIP?
Those uncomfortable hell chapters where the things in-story hit a little too close to home and feel too personal. Also getting over what the readers may/may not like and remembering that this is a self-indulgent fic that is meant for me, and that others reading and enjoying it is just a bonus.
6. Are there any animals in your story? Talk about them!
SO. MANY. ANIMALS.
You already have the obvious with the elementals (Kat, Bakura, and Malik), not to mention their offspring (Imhotep/wolf, Ryou/lammergeier). There’s also Kat’s horse/ka, Akasa, as well as all the fae realm creatures in chapter 87 (capricorn, kelpie, cockatrice, what I have dubbed the ‘fae weasel’, unicorns, ceryneian hind, and of course the phoenix egg). There’s also the lamassu encountered in Sumar, and Remi the werewolf (I swear he was just having an off day due to seeing Marik and it being a full moon week).
7. How do your characters travel/get around?
The elementals tend to travel via their element a lot, but they aren’t opposed to traditional travel methods. Kat is a classic muscle car enthusiast, as well as sports cars and motorcycles. Malik loves the feeling of the wind in his mane when riding motorcycles (he prefers the ones with loud engines that ‘roar’), as well as open-top Jeeps and military vehicles. Bakura is the group’s resident pilot, being that his element is wind/air (Malik refuses to step foot in any aircraft that he is piloting after falling out because Bakura is literally no different than Murdock from the A-Team).
8. What part of your WIP are you working on right now?
Chapter 111
9. What aspects (tropes, maybe?) will you think draw your audience in?
Uhhhhh….no clue? Maybe genuine curiosity of the oc x canon ship and how I go about putting a character that fanon has declared to be extremely hardcore gay into a relationship with a woman? The 'enemies to lovers in later chapters' tag? (I'm sure that last one is the main reason people decide to take a peek in the first place lol)
10. What are your hopes for your WIP?
To reach the end and post the Epilogue (The basic draft for the Epilogue has been written since just after Apep is introduced)
List of Questions:
What's the first part of your WIP that you created?
If your story was a TV show, what would the theme song/intro be?
What are your favorite characters that you made? Why?
What other pieces of media do you think your fanbase would share?
What has been your biggest struggle with your WIP?
Are there any animals in your story? Talk about them!
How do your characters travel/get around?
What part of your WIP are you working on right now?
What aspects (tropes, maybe?) will you think draw your audience in?
What are your hopes for your WIP?

So I saw you did some zines before and I was wondering, do you have any advice on how to get in as a writer 🥲🥲 I’ve been trying but it seems like I get rejected every time and it lowkey hurts.
Hi nonnie!! Sorry for not responding to this earlier but I wasn’t sure of the right thing to say. Yes, I have done a few pieces for some zines, and I’ll try to be as … honest as I can without being too harsh.
I’m just going to say it right off the bat, fanzines just aren’t the best for writers in general. You’ll notice a lot of times, that zines will open maybe 2-5 slots specifically for writers. Considering many might get over 50-60+ applications for those spots, it’s already a tough start. Don’t blame yourself for this, it’s not that you suck, but it’s just that there’s so much limited space. It is not your fault. Two people out of 50 applications is barely anything.
And you might think, well, what’s the reasoning for that?
And to be honest it goes down to the current culture of fanzines that made me leave it to begin with. Most of them are either for-profit/for donations. Which is cool! Buuuut that means you have to maximize profit and minimize costs. Who is most likely going to bring in the audience? Unfortunately, not writers. Who is taking up the most space (technically speaking) with their work… unfortunately, also writers.
Having writers is often seen as a loss of time and space that could be given to artists who most likely have more pull to an audience. I mean, you can even compare this in general from writing fanfics to simply looking at a piece of art. You don’t need to read art the way you do a fanfic. Art is eye catching and boom, you can continue to the next thing. Note: this is not me diminishing artists or writers, I’m explaining this from a business perspective that zine owners have shared with me that unfortunately constrains them.
Even if you follow the limits of like a 1-2k work, putting it in the zine with additional formatting, dialogue, borders, sizes, etc will take up around 6-8 pages maybe. To some owners, that’s 6-8 artists that could’ve taken that spot that would’ve had more pull than the one writer who wrote the fic.
Fanzines nowadays feel they have a standard to be almost close to “official” merch which… that’s not why zines were made to begin with. It was a celebration of fandom and fan creations. But everyone wants people with high follower counts now, so lesser known creators are often chucked to the side. Which, fair enough you’re tryna make profit for a cause- but it can be disheartening.
Trust me, despite me having participated in like 3 zines, it still hurt when I got rejected. And, you do have to take this to heart, the zine owners don’t think your writing is crappy or anything like that. They don’t. You can mourn being rejected but it’s not a reflection on your writing.
My advice? Go make your own zine. Or just continue writing fanfic for fun and posting. You’re not really gonna make money off them anyways even in a for-profit zine, but zines are meant to be by the fans for the fans. The current culture has sucked the fun out of it in exchange for profit, but you don’t have to wait around to get accepted. Even just yourself and a friend or two can make a zine on your own, and that’s really all you need. You make the rules and you get to make your funny zine. So go for it! Send your application to official ones, of course, it never hurts to try, but you don’t need some person to allow you to contribute. Fandom is for everyone, not just for profit or those only with master level talent or follower counts. Just make your own thing!

ART TELEPHONE APPLICATIONS (FULL)
She emerges from the murky depths, stalking the earth once more… in order to host a drawing game.
Most of you know the rules: one person draws a thing, they pass it secretly to a second person to redraw, and the second person passes their new drawing onto a third person… et cetera, until about ten drawings have been made and the first drawing looks nothing like the tenth, and we all laugh about it.
Mutuals only this time! Any site, as long as we know each other. This’ll be a short game (10-ish people), so we’ll be done around May or June. By applying, you are signing up to make one (1) colored piece of art within the span of 5 days! And promising to answer my emails.
IF YOU’RE INTERESTED, DM ME (not asks, those get lost):
An email account you check a lot.
A link to your art!
Any placement requests, if applicable (”I can do the starter image!”, “I won’t be available the second half of April”, “I want to be placed near the end of the lineup”)
CLOSED thank you! If we talked, expect an email this weekend.

despaired, deadly, and on air!
what is badlydrawnnsodu?
badlydrawnnsodu,,, is just badly drawn new seasons of despair universe stuff! the art gallery thread in our server has had doodles of the stuff posted, and. we joked a little about having this blog, but thanks to impulse, i have successfully just- done this LMAO [-zenith]
what exactly is the new seasons of despair universe?
- to put it simply, it's a fanganronpa universe made by zenith. the characters drawn here are the participants, backups, and/or hosts in each and [almost] every one! does this count as cast art? probably. are we gonna make people pay for it? ... mayb- [/JJJJ] - nsodu is separated into seasons, and within these seasons are episodes. what do the episodes contain? the killing games, of course. we're still on the first season, but we're going strong with twenty-one (21) games! from zero to the twentieth. - we run a roleplay server for the series, from the 15th episode down to the 20th. applications for it are closed, but spectators are absolutely welcome to watch the show when it happens! maybe you'll have a chance when we open up submissions again... and now, time to introduce our blog hosts!

..this just says "unspecified". what the hell does that mean?
✦ — lebanon! lemonade! hand grenade! as implied in the previous bullet point (is that what you call it?), i like to draw! i like to draw.. a myriad of things. like, ah.. gay people. dead gay people. specifically from the hit series "new seasons of despair". but of course, to recognize that the dead gay people are being drawn by yours truly, you'll have to know who's art style belongs to who. so, i've provided a useful info sheet featuring the man himself - stanley parason, ultimate [REDACTED], from nsod: s1:e15!
[DISCLAIMER: even though stanley happens to be gay, he is, in fact, not dead. yet.]
Tumblr media
the art style used for stanley is something you'll see on the regular. the cooler stanley's art style, on the other hand, is reserved for the semi-shitposty, overdramatic pieces. you'll see what i mean in a bit. :)
✧ — lego! citizen! ..my relation with.. zenith? who's zenith? i don't know them.
what do you mean i run this blog with them? you must be hearing things. this is my blog. this is luma's blog. not.. zenitsu's, whatever their name was. and this is my only blog, too! badlydrawnnsodu is all i have! are you trying to take that away from me?! absolutely preposterous. i can't believe you're doing this! after everything i've been through-

i'm the sole creator of nsod. i mean- it started with me and the help of someone else. [hi, if you come across this blog. i'm sorry.] it all started three years ago, and we're going strong with a better plot than before. it was supposed to be a spin-off of the original dangan series... but i scrapped that. now there's lore with guns and ships ships, a world that isn't real, mothers that are agents- god damn! look at me now.
now- this bit may be like. a little too soon, but i just wanna put it out there. uh, i just hope that this is taken right. and that it's taken into consideration 'nd stuff.
my personal request to you, however, dear viewer... please do not bastardize the characters. please do not sexualize them, please do not ship yourselves with them. please don't get parasocial with them. please do not threat them extremely. i'm okay with stuff like "can we hold hands,,," or "what if we sat on froggy chairs together", that stuff's funny and it's nice. but anything related to what was mentioned, don't. do any of that, please. thank you.

Page 70 or So
It was around page 70, right in the middle of the notebook. I don't remember it verbatim, but something like thank you for everything you've been in my life, I'm so sorry we'll never work again, rest in peace. Funny that it was what was right in the middle of that notebook, which may have less than 140 pages because it had an unknown past life, and pages may have been taken from it.
There's very little written after that, not necessarily because Jane's death affected the ability to use it, it was just misplaced most of the time, that's all. Even now, if it's not in the AFB box, I have no idea what I did with it, and there's a few alternate notebooks I set up for when the main one was missing, numerous word document versions, none of which were used for long- just a lot of information getting spread in all direction, and I hate it. It was nice when all the madness was concentrated in those pages. The image for the Holy Guts is actually taken from a full page drawing around page 30. It was cleaned of blue and red lines, had the lines thickened, the contrast adjusted so the background was all one color of either black or white, depending on whether the image values were inverted yet, and probably some digital coloring in on some of the checkers, and there you have it.... fun and fantastic.
I hope the day comes when this notebook is used again, and the back half of those pages are thoroughly filled in.
After all these years, despite the occasional moment of a clearer imagination, the "what happens next" to Chaos Corridor has never materialized. They are in the corridor, they get separated, weird shit happens, and it has an ending that should be fitting of your horror stories, and your weird stories, like Twin Peaks- we shouldn't expect a neat and tidy ending, where it all works out and everything goes back to normal... I mean... unless you want to be ironic about it, go with some painfully dumb resolution that's as bad as "It was just a dream.".
Nor should this idea become so high brow- it is action figures, after all, that it become impossible to complete, scope creep redshifting so deep that not even traveling at the speed of light can catch up with it. There needs to be a limit, a time to come down and draw to a close. Should this point in the project also be considered right in the middle? I still feel like the story is winding up, though- we haven't even entered the corridor! Though, from a different perspective, the fact that the script more or less ends with the gang entering the corridor, it certainly feels like a midway point, from the start of this and the hypothetical conclusion to this nonsense.
I had some fun ideas for it come to me last year, the application of Labyrinth H, which exists in that same space as The Backrooms or The Black Lodge- spaces that exist on another plane that can't be accessed in a linear or Pythagorean fashion, something that looks more or less normal, and yet you wonder if you're just having a very vivid hallucination. Everything feels like a morning fog along the riverbank, and it sounds like this track from Stars of the Lid:
youtube
There was another kind of droning going on... well, not in the cut of Newton's Dream that's ever been published, but I wanted to switch out the track with something with a lot more drone to it, and I had a few candidates, and I even had my own piece of outsider art music which kind of sounded like NIN1701D and first track from that weird spa music. I might use that, but paulstretch it into drone-y goodness.
Yay, my child.
That bible quote is from a book I forgot, but chapter and verse is 14:19.
I always intended on redoing that scene, that it was just a beta version. I want to redo the mouth movements, a little less South Park, more movements in the other parts of it besides the open mouth. There's got to be an easier way to do this. How does mouth movements work on King of the Hill? How many letter sounds are actually sounded out, and how much of it is just all purpose in between movement?
So, I want the move this story out to a point where things are getting fuzzy, they all have their own odd dream like states to contend with while Stars of the Lid drones on. I considered them finding many TV Rooms that may come close or be radically different, yet they still go on and watch some TV together, try to find more funny bits of dialogue from those old recordings. It becomes something that's in between Beavis and Butthead (look carefully at the AFB logo) and MST3K. I don't want it to be all Star Trek, but the options outside of those recordings are very slim and probably not a good idea to have in the video.
But I can't seem to answer the why or the how. What's the excuse for these scenes? I don't have any, other than they get REALLY REALLY lost trying to go through and get out of that corridor. Perhaps there doesn't need to be an explanation- the ship is huge and vast, an entire city contained within bulkhead, boosters, and bussards. I imagined the Cascadia as being much older than everyone else alive. There could be catacombs, other things, further down, and maybe it ends up that we don't ever really find out WHAT the Cascadia is- it's been so long before anyone bothered to check.
And, of course, there is probably some reason Moxie's Skipper Licence was invalidated. I used to have this idea that something happeend to those turquoise T-Shirt workers at the DDSMV encounter a typical film noir kind of bad guy with a gun who takes them captive somewhere, perhaps connected to what's going on with the Cascadia. I didn't know where to go with that.
Still, if I can figure it out or wing it, that might be something fun to film, an unnecessary addition, just to get it going, scope creep be damned.
Maybe I should do a post detailing these sorts of ideas... instead of this.

Types of Edge Bands Materials and Their Uses
Tumblr media
Furniture edge banding tape is a small detail that has a significant impact on the complex world of furniture design and finishing. The significance of edge banding tape is increased when it is included in design elements. It goes well beyond appearances to include strength, use, and the overall design of the furniture piece. Even though it may seem insignificant, a product’s edge width has a significant impact on its overall performance, utility, and appearance. Width is about function, design, and purpose in addition to size.
No Furniture Life Without these Miracle Tapes
A piece of furniture’s finishing touches is what gives it an edge. The edge band highlights the beauty of the furniture and provides more than just protection at the intersection of durability and design. Through careful matching of the edging with different laminates, converts the bare edges into artistically pleasing works of art. The end effect is a tasteful combination that enhances the furniture’s overall design and makes it stand out for both its elegant and utilitarian design. Furthermore, smooth-finished MDF, HDMR, and Pre-laminated boards guarantee a perfect finish while enhancing this elegance even more, ensuring that the edge band does not come out of its fixed position.
Utilitarian Value
Apart from its aesthetic value and perfect match, furniture’s primary purpose is to be of proper use to its owner. No matter how exquisite, a piece of furniture loses its attractiveness if it is not applicable. In addition to ensuring the user’s safety, the edge band makes sure that surfaces stay level, doors close flawlessly, and drawers glide smoothly. It makes all the difference between a piece of furniture that is only attractive to look at and one that fits in well with everyday activities.
Sturdiness & Protection
A key component of protecting furniture from regular wear and tear is using furniture edge banding tapes as you are already aware that furniture’s rough edges are frequently more prone to deterioration and moisture infiltration. Edge banding tapes improve longevity and resilience against deterioration, particularly in materials like MDF. This treatment helps keep the furniture sturdy and preserves its shape and function for many years to come by fending off chipping, peeling, and even swelling with time.
Now comes the most critical question in our mind: what are my options? What material are the edge tapes composed of? Let us focus on some popular materials available in the market provided by edge band tape manufacturers.
Let us begin with the most popular edge band material made by edge band tape manufacturers of India.
PVC Edge Band – The most common material used in edge bands is PVC. It is long-lasting, strong, and reasonably priced. There is no need for a finishing procedure. It’s also simple to fix. They are flexible and come in varied colors, textures and are easily customisable. The material used to make PVC edgebands is Polyvinyl Chloride, or PVC, an artificial thermoplastic polymer. PVC resin, colorants, and additives are combined throughout the production process to produce a flexible material that can be used for edgebanding. PVC edge band manufacturers guarantee to find a perfect match for your desired laminate. Explore through the E3 Edge Band collection to know more.
Veneer Edge Bands: More traditional and natural edge bands, veneer edge banding captures the essence of actual wood. For those who would like a more organic appearance than ornamental edgebands, they are made from genuine wood veneers. Price-wise, they may be more expensive. These Veneer edge band manufacturers make veneer tapes to give furniture pieces a seamless appearance while still giving them the appearance of solid wood.
ABS Edge bands: ABS edge banding ensures furniture protection against unintentional knocks and collisions by offering strength, durability, and high impact resistance. With matching ABS Edgebands from E3 Edge Band manufacturing company in India, you can eliminate the ugly joints that are sometimes visible with laminates. It is thin, light, and highly durable thermoplastic. It strengthens the smooth appearance and feel of high-quality laminated surfaces while safeguarding the edges. It will maintain its beauty for a very long time and is highly resistant to impact, scratches, UV radiation, and daily wear and tear.
Acrylic edge bands: Available in an extensive array of colors and designs, such as wood and metallic provided by Acrylic edge band manufacturing company. With a dash of modern sheen, you can mimic the appearance of high-end materials like granite and solid wood without having to deal with their high cost, heavy weight, or time-consuming maintenance. Additionally, acrylic edge banding has an ultra-glossy appearance. When combined with acrylic boards, you can achieve and create almost any style for the perfect surface. Explore through the E3 Edge Band collection to know more.
uPVC Edge Bands: For the more environmentally conscious, the uPVC edge band manufacturers like E3 Edge Bands provide the best solution. They are lead-free, made using no harsh chemicals, recyclable, and have antimicrobial, antibacterial, and DOP properties. They are highly valued by carpenters, contractors, and furniture makers who are always on the lookout for eco-friendly products.
What is the ideal material for edge banding? Well, that depends on where it is used. PVC is a good material for furniture that will be exposed to moisture. Wood veneer edge bands are an option if you want a natural appearance. Fluted ABS, Acrylic, and Soft Touchor uPVC edgebands are the way to go for furniture that needs a contemporary, safe, 100% match, and fashionable appearance.
From the house of E3, the edgebands proudly manufactured in India satisfy all of your needs and preferences with premium quality and dependability.
To conclude with, the options available in the market are many. We must appropriately select edge bands according to our needs, match, and what suits our pocket. However, you should be aware that there are still decisions to be made when weighing your edge banding selections. Those decisions may seem overwhelming. To make sure you choose the best edge banding solution for your project, E3 Edge Band professionals can guide you through your alternatives. We intend to assist you in comprehending the procedure and to instill confidence in you by demonstrating that our edge band tapes are created with years of manufacturing experience, research, and field-tested performance in mind.

For the artist application, the form states that you are looking for ‘artistic cohesion’ in the art examples provided. What does this mean? I am worried, because I have been experimenting with my art style a lot recently, and so my art from piece to piece looks very different, but within each piece I keep the style consistent. Does artistic cohesion mean you looking for artists to have a clear art style, or does it mean that you are looking for art pieces to be coherent and clear in what they are showing, or is it something else?
Thanks!!
Hi, thank you for your ask! We appreciate people taking the time to reach out about their questions and concerns for the zine. For the artist applications, we're looking to see that you can make art that shows a consistent quality--if you've been experimenting a lot, please go with work that most closely resembles work you would like to produce for the zine. We want to know what to expect!

How Should I Wear My First Wig?
Wearing a wig can be an exciting and transformative experience, whether you’re looking to change your hairstyle temporarily, cover hair loss, or experiment with different looks. However, if you’re new to the world of wigs, understanding the proper techniques for wearing them is essential to achieve a natural, comfortable, and confident appearance. In this comprehensive guide, we will explore the various aspects of wearing your first wig, from choosing the right wig to putting it on and maintaining it. By the end of this article, you’ll be equipped with the knowledge and skills to wear your wig with ease and style.
Tumblr media
Selecting the perfect wig.
Before diving into the art of wig application, it’s crucial to choose the right wig that suits your needs and preferences. The perfect wig can make the application process smoother and ensure a more natural look. Here are some key considerations when selecting your first wig:
Wig material.
Wigs come in various materials, each with its advantages and disadvantages. Common wig materials include:
Synthetic: Affordable and easy to maintain, synthetic wigs offer a wide range of styles and colors. However, they may not look as natural as human hair wigs and are less heat-resistant.
Human hair: These wigs provide the most natural look and feel. You can style them like your own hair, and they are highly versatile. However, they require more maintenance and tend to be more expensive.
Blends: Some wigs combine both human hair and synthetic materials, offering a balance between affordability and a natural appearance.
Wig style.
The style of the wig is a personal choice that depends on your desired look. Options include:
360 lace wig:
A 360 lace wig is a type of wig that has lace all around the perimeter, which allows for versatile styling options. You can part your hair anywhere on the wig, and it provides a natural-looking hairline all the way around.
Lace front wig:
Lace front wigs are a popular choice for their natural appearance. These wigs have lace in the front, typically from ear to ear, which mimics a natural hairline. The rest of the wig cap may be made from different materials, such as a monofilament or wefted cap.
Wear & go glueless wig:
Glueless wigs are designed to be worn without the need for adhesive or wig glue. They often have adjustable straps and combs for a secure fit. These wigs are convenient and easy to put on and take off.
Lace closure wig:
A lace closure wig features a small piece of lace with hair attached to it, which is used to close off a weave or wig installation. It provides a natural-looking part or hairline in the front, but the rest of the wig cap may be constructed differently.
Pre-bleached wig:
Pre-bleached wigs are designed for individuals who prefer a lighter hair color. The wig comes with the knots on the lace front or closure already bleached, making it easier to achieve a more realistic look when parting the hair.
Wig length and color.
Consider the length and color that will best suit your style and needs. Do you want a short bob, long flowing locks, or something in between? When it comes to color, you can choose from a vast array of natural shades or experiment with bold, vibrant colors.
Wig cap size.
Ensure that you select a wig cap size that fits your head comfortably. A well-fitting cap ensures a secure and natural look.
Preparing your natural hair.
Before applying your wig, it’s essential to prepare your natural hair to ensure a seamless and comfortable fit.
Clean and dry hair.
Start by washing and conditioning your natural hair. It should be clean and completely dry before putting on your wig. Oily or damp hair can affect the way the wig adheres to your head.
Use a wig cap.
Consider wearing a wig cap or wig liner to keep your hair in place. This will also help protect your natural hair from friction with the wig, reducing the risk of breakage.
Applying your wig.
Now that you’ve chosen the perfect wig and prepared your natural hair, it’s time to learn how to properly apply it.
Adjust the wig cap.
If your wig has an adjustable cap, adjust the straps to fit your head comfortably. Make sure it’s snug but not too tight. This step is crucial to ensure your wig stays in place.
Prepare the wig.
Hold your wig upside down and gently shake it to fluff the hair. This will help prevent any tangles and give your wig a more natural appearance. You can also use a wig brush or comb to style the wig as desired.
Position the wig.
Place the wig on your head, starting from the front. The front of the wig should align with your natural hairline. Gently pull the wig over your head, ensuring it’s snug but not too tight.
Secure the wig.
If you’re wearing a full lace wig or lace front wig, use wig adhesive or double-sided wig tape to secure it in place. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for application.
Adjust for comfort.
Make sure the wig is sitting comfortably on your head, with the ear tabs aligned with your ears. If necessary, adjust the wig’s position to ensure it’s symmetrical and looks natural.
Styling your wig.
Once your wig is securely in place, you can style it to achieve the desired look. Here are some tips for styling your wig:
Parting.
If your wig allows for different parting options, create a part that suits your style. You can use a comb or your fingers to part the wig hair.
Heat styling.
Human hair wigs can be heat-styled just like natural hair. You can use heat tools like straighteners, curling irons, and blow dryers to achieve your desired hairstyle. However, be cautious and use heat protectant products to prevent damage.
Accessories.
Enhance your wig’s style with accessories like headbands, scarves, or clips. These can add a personal touch to your look and make it more unique.
Maintenance.
Regular maintenance is essential to keep your wig looking its best. Brush or comb your wig gently to prevent tangles, and store it on a wig stand or in its original packaging when not in use.
How to clean a wig?
Cleaning a wig is an essential part of maintaining its appearance and longevity. Whether you have a synthetic or human hair wig, regular cleaning is necessary to remove dirt, oils, and styling products that can accumulate over time. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to clean a wig:
Materials you’ll need:
Wig brush or wide-tooth comb
Wig stand or mannequin head
Mild wig shampoo
Cool water
A basin or sink
Towel
Conditioner (for human hair wigs)
Step-by-step instructions:
Brush or comb the wig:
Before cleaning your wig, gently detangle it using a wig brush or a wide-tooth comb. Start at the tips and work your way up to the roots, being careful not to pull on the hair. This helps prevent further tangling during the washing process.
Prepare the basin or sink:
Fill a basin or sink with cool water. Avoid using hot water as it can damage synthetic wigs or cause human hair wigs to lose their shape.
Add wig shampoo:
Mix a small amount of mild wig shampoo in the water. Be sure to use a wig-specific shampoo to protect the wig’s fibers. Follow the manufacturer’s instructions for the recommended amount.
Submerge the wig:
Gently submerge the wig in the soapy water. Avoid rubbing or scrubbing the wig, as this can cause tangling and damage. Instead, let the wig soak for about 5-10 minutes to allow the shampoo to work.
Gently agitate the water:
After soaking, lightly agitate the water with your fingers to remove dirt and debris. Be gentle to avoid tangling the hair.
Rinse the wig:
Drain the soapy water and refill the basin or sink with clean, cool water. Rinse the wig by gently swishing it in the water. Continue rinsing until all the shampoo is removed, and the water runs clear.
Condition (For human hair wigs):
If you have a human hair wig, apply a small amount of wig-specific conditioner to the hair, avoiding the roots. Allow it to sit for a few minutes to keep the hair soft and manageable.
Rinse again:
Rinse the wig thoroughly with cool water to remove the conditioner.
Blot dry with a towel:
Place the wig on a clean towel and gently blot it to remove excess water. Avoid wringing or twisting the wig, as this can damage the fibers.
Place on a wig stand or mannequin head:
Put the wig on a wig stand or mannequin head to maintain its shape while drying. Make sure it’s in its natural style.
Air dry:
Allow the wig to air dry completely in a cool, well-ventilated area. Do not use heat sources like hair dryers, heated rollers, or direct sunlight to dry the wig, as this can damage synthetic fibers and cause human hair wigs to lose their luster.
Style as desired:
Once the wig is dry, you can style it using heat tools for human hair wigs, following the recommended temperature settings and using heat protectant products. Synthetic wigs should not be heat-styled unless they are specifically labeled as heat-resistant.
Brush or comb again:
After the wig is dry and styled, gently brush or comb it to achieve the desired look. Start at the tips and work your way up.
Removing your wig.
Taking off your wig should be done with care to avoid any damage or discomfort. Here’s how to remove your wig properly:
Wig adhesive removal.
If you used wig adhesive or tape to secure your wig, carefully follow the manufacturer’s instructions for removal. Gently lift the edges and slowly peel the wig away from your head. Using a specialized adhesive remover can make this process easier and more comfortable.
Be gentle.
When removing your wig, avoid tugging or pulling on the hair. It’s best to take your time and handle the wig delicately.
Is it bad to wear a wig every day?
Wearing a wig every day is not inherently bad, but there are some important considerations and potential effects to keep in mind. Firstly, maintaining scalp health is crucial. Wearing a wig daily may limit the exposure of your scalp to air, potentially leading to scalp issues if proper care is not taken. Therefore, it’s essential to periodically allow your scalp to breathe by removing the wig and gently cleansing it. Secondly, if you have natural hair under the wig, it’s vital to maintain a healthy hair care routine to prevent damage and hair loss. Regularly wash and condition your hair, keep it moisturized, and avoid excessive tension from tight wig caps or hairstyles that may be pulling on your natural hair. Comfort is another key consideration. Some people may find wearing a wig every day comfortable, while others might experience discomfort, especially if the wig is not the right size or the fabric isn’t breathable. Hence, choosing a well-fitted, breathable wig can be more suitable for daily wear. Lastly, regular maintenance is essential to ensure both your natural hair and the wig remain in good condition. Daily wear may necessitate more frequent cleaning and styling. In summary, whether wearing a wig every day is “bad” depends on individual preferences, comfort, and how well you care for your natural hair and the wig itself. It’s essential to prioritize scalp health, choose a comfortable and breathable wig, and follow proper maintenance and cleaning routines to ensure both your natural hair and the wig remain in good condition. If you experience discomfort or notice any issues, it’s advisable to consult with a wig specialist or dermatologist for guidance and solutions.
Be brave.
Wearing your first wig is an art that requires proper knowledge, care, and practice. From selecting the ideal wig to mastering the application process and maintaining it, this comprehensive guide has equipped you with the skills and information needed to wear your wig with confidence and style. Remember that it may take some time to adjust to your new look, but with patience and the right techniques, you can enjoy the transformative and empowering experience that wearing a wig can provide. So, go ahead and embrace your unique style, one wig at a time.

In a reblogging my own art mood now. inspired by last rb so now you get commentary. It won't make sense probably but whatever lmao.
Ok so the deal with this one is that Hannibal is literally just like Tantalus to me. Basically Tantalus (Hannibal) was a king and son of Zeus who killed and cooked his son, Pelops (Abigail), to feed to the gods (Will) to test their omniscience. All of the gods except Demeter knew immediately. Demeter was distracted by her ongoing search for her daughter, Persephone, and ate Pelops' shoulder. Woops! Pelops was resurrected with an ivory shoulder to replace the one that was eaten and Tantalus was sent to Tartarus to stand in a pool of water under fruit trees that both moved further away whenever he reached for them. SAD! Anyway I kind of want to go into detail abt this whole thing but i don't want to write an essay. so you're getting a list.
Will-- he kind of represents all of the gods instead of one in particular. He is eating Abigail's shoulder, which puts him in Demeter's role, and also has that sort of daughter-grieving vibe. However, he also is the one to discover Hannibal's transgressions and the one to punish him, which sort of puts him in the role of Zeus. anyway I didn't really want him to represent one god specifically, but rather their omnipotence and punishing nature. also the being tricked into eating people thing.
Abigail-- Her Pelops swag. Second only to her Iphigenia swag. Got murdered to prove a point. Father started a family curse. Idk this one isn't super complicated. Sorry girl. Well actually I'd like to say that Pelops got resurrected and Abigail has died like at least three times so that's fun.
Hannibal-- well he eats people. and makes other people eat people without them knowing. and killed his surrogate child. That's pretty obvious I feel like. I think you get the idea by now. BUT I would also like to say that he is reaching up towards Will and Abigail (but mostly Will) to represent his desire for a family that will never be fulfilled because of. the murder. which is part of the reason for the blood on his hands. the other part is because it looks cool. also he's the only one wearing a tunic because there is a limit to how much draped fabric I'm willing to draw.
Antlers-- fucking hate being a hannibal fan fr I have to draw so many goddamn antlers. Honestly there isn't a super deep symbolism reason. I have thoughts abt the show's deer motif/symbolism but it's not really applicable to this piece. Mainly they're there because I wanted to add stuff around Abigail for the composition or whatever.
Shattered Porcelain-- shut up about the teacup metaphor I hate you. Pretty much the same as above but the teacup represents Abigail in the show so it's more like symbolically applicable I guess. It's shattered because of her being dead :/
Flowers-- These are asphodel flowers, which were believed to grow in the fields of the Underworld and had a more general connection with death in ancient Greece. In this piece for composition reasons and for the death symbolism. hey did you guys know that Abigail dies.
Blood-- well you know. because of the killing. Hannibal is standing in a pool of blood for the Tantalus-underworld-punishment imagery. There's blood in the background because I needed something in the background and I thought it was cool.
Loooooonnngggg-- why's it so long. well that's because I wanted all three of them in frame in a way where you can see all of their faces. Also I wanted posing that felt a little more two-dimensional to be kinda reminiscent of classical wall and vase paintings. So all my sketches ended up really long vertically or horizontally. oops. I still think it's neat though
Closing thoughts. I still really like this one tbh. It took me like a month of on-and-off work and soooo much experimenting. I'm not used to any sort of digital painting so most of my process was just fucking around and trying not to hate it. Also why did I decide to draw the guy with the most difficult face at the most difficult angle without a reference. fucking idiot.

me, watching nbc hannibal for the first time: getting a lot of tantalus and pelops vibes from this…
