one of my favorite killugon things
pretty simple: how much they smile and look at each other
they do it almost all the time: it usually depends on the context and the reason may vary, but a lot of the times they look at the other because they are on the same page and are happy about it, since they understand each other so well. sometimes it's just because they are so excited they instantly look at each other, and so on.
an example with killua
an example with gon
them smiling at each other at the same time
and of course i had to add this random smile in the middle of their serious conversation with kurapika. it always makes me giggle

Plus one
Jake "Hangman" Seresin x f!reader
Summary: Jake finally finds a way to take his neighbor for a kind of date. Part two Part three
Warning: None
Taglist: -
"Again .. this won't never stop.. What's this obsession with getting married and all at the same time." She muttered to herself after pulling out and reading the small invitation card from its envelope.
She closed her mailbox without taking her eyes off the invitation and another small rectangular cardboard fell out of the envelope, she crouched down to pick it up.
Will you come with someone?
Yes No
"Nop, still not." She grumbled. She loved going to weddings, it was the opportunity to be surrounded by friends and family, to celebrate. But going alone constantly exposed her to questions and advices from another time and silly sayings from those around her.
"You'll see, it's when you least expect it."
"There's a lot of fish in the sea."
"You're past thirty, the clock is ticking."
She passed the palm of her hand over her face already tired of knowing what was waiting for her one more time.
Across the street Jake spotted her from his kitchen window, grabbed the cup of coffee in front of him and headed out the door.
"You've newly taken up residence in your driveway?" he said wryly from his own driveway.
She raised her head when she heard her neighbor and straightened up with a small smile.
"Seresin, that's surprising I didn't see a bimbo sneaking out of your house this morning."
"How mean you are. I am only the victim of an exceptional charisma and beauty." He said with a falsely offended look. "Still, I can't say the same about you, whether it's sneaking out or not." He replied with a teasing air. He crossed the street to come to her height.
"Why do you look like you froze outside your house?" He asked glancing at what she had in her hands to find out more about what seemed to be bothering her.
"It's just another wedding invitation."
He arched an eyebrow without really understanding what the problem was.
"Aren't weddings fun?"
"It can quickly turn into an ordeal when you go alone."
He held back a smile, so that meant she was alone, he had never been sure until now.
"I see. But you're not going to tell me that a woman like you really has no date to go with her?"
"Are you trying to flatter me Seresin?" She raised an eyebrow. Ever since she had moved in across from him, the two of them had been constantly teasing each other, a clumsy way to get the other's attention, and a game of cat and mouse had developed between the two of them.
"I'm willing to be your plus one if you ask me nicely." He finally let go with a sly smile on his lips, which made her burst out laughing. "This is serious. It would be a win-win for you, you'd finally go with someone and it would shut them up once and for all. Imagine, getting there with the most beautiful and talented pilot, we just have to pretend." In front of her doubtful face he continued. "Come on, it would be fun, we'd have fun and it wouldn't hurt you too much to take a little good time." He teased her.
She stared at him for a fraction of a second, thinking that maybe he wasn't totally wrong.
"And you what benefit would you get from it?" She questioned him.
"An evening with you."
She laughed as she felt her cheeks flush, praying to God he wouldn't notice, which he did and found absolutely charming.
"That's all I need." He displayed a serious, seductive air.
"Need for what?"
"Showing you that you and I are meant to be together."
She laughed and turned on her heels, walking up the steps to her stoop.
"Let's show them baby! " he shouted happily.
She grabbed the doorknob and turned to him still laughing.
"A navy blue tuxedo will do very well." She opened the door before rushing inside.
Jake waved a victory sign before turning on his heels and heading home with a winning smile on his face, this wedding party was going to be promising.

"You got a death wish?" Kelso and Hyde
OR
"You can't just keep pretending things are fine!" Red and Hyde
Hey, so I probably won’t post the new RYLH chapter today because I’M EXHAUSTED. I know I promised but please be patient I’m sensitive.
Anyway, since I can’t post the whole chapter because I’m really not in the mood to get my computer, here’s a ficlet from the prompt game that’s been sitting on my drafts since forever! Enjoy!
Trigger warning for Kelso being a self-entitled dick, lol.
(In this scenario, Kelso finds out about Jackie and Hyde a few weeks later, so their relationship is a little stronger, and he decides to confront them when they’re in the basement with everyone just chilling. Donna and Eric are in-character so they’re cool in this, hence why Kelso didn’t find out about them sooner. They covered for them).
“Don’t worry, his brain will stop working soon enough. He has a word limit” Hyde whispered in Jackie’s ear, and she silently giggled.
She was sitting on his lap, resting her head on his chest and playing with his fingers as he held her close to him, both of them trying to tone out Kelso’s annoying voice and he kept on rambling about how Hyde “dogged” him and how “creepy and unnatural” they are as a couple.
"This is Jackie and Hyde!" Kelso said, pointing at the couple "Jackie and Hyde! They hate each other!"
"Well, clearly not anymore" Eric mumbled as he started to suck on his popsicle, staring at Donna's exposed legs. Thank God for catholic schools.
Donna slapped the back of her boyfriend's head "Perv" She muttered under her breath
"YOU GUYS! THIS IS IMPORTANT!" Kelso yelled, trying to get everyone's attention "Jackie and Hyde are together! As a couple! In what world would this be right?!"
"I don't know, I kind of saw it coming," Donna said "I mean, if you think about it, they fit, in their own, twisted way"
"I saw it coming too," Fez added, not taking his eyes off the TV "They always had spark and chemistry. For example, whenever Jackie and Hyde argued about something, I got needs from all the sexual tension, and whenever you and Jackie argued, I got annoyed and left the room"
"And after you and Jackie got back together the second time, Jackie did mention an awful lot how Hyde is a better kisser than you..." Donna said
Jackie blushed and Hyde smiled smugly as Kelso's jaw dropped.
"UH!" Kelso shrieked
"Lumberjacks have even bigger mouths than cheerleaders" Jackie muttered, crossing her arms and glaring at Donna, who was laughing at Kelso along with Hyde, Eric, and Fez.
"When did you two kiss?!" Kelso asked indignantly "Did you cheat on me with Hyde too?! Wasn't the cheese guy enough, Jackie?!"
Jackie raised an eyebrow, and Hyde immediately stopped laughing, his face hardening into a scowl.
"Tell me he didn't mention the cheese guy" Eric whispered in Donna's ear
"Nop, he did" Donna whispered back, watching the scene in front of her, wondering if she should be entertained or annoyed.
"How long have you two been having an affair behind my back?!” Kelso stopped pacing and glared at the couple.
Hyde was staring at Kelso like he wanted to kill him with his bare hands, and Jackie’s face was red from a mix of anger and embarrassment.
“And Jackie, you’re such a...”
"If you finish that sentence Michael, I swear to God..." Jackie interrupted him, getting up from her boyfriend’s lap to glare at her ex.
“You’ll what?! Kiss someone else?! Because you already did that, twice!”
“I fear we’re seeing the last moments of our friend Kelso,” Fez said, taking a candy bar from his pocket
“If he keeps his behavior, he won’t be my friend for long, I can tell you that” Donna muttered angrily, and Eric nodded in agreement.
“I’m surprised Hyde didn’t kill him yet,” Eric said, watching as Jackie started to tear Kelso apart with her words.
“And Steven is such a better kisser than you! You’re nothing compared to him, and I mean that in every conceivable way, Michael! Just leave us alone!” Jackie yelled, but Kelso didn’t flinch
"He’s not! You know what? Kiss me right here, right now! Then you can tell me who's a better kisser!" Kelso said, taking a step towards Jackie and placing his hand on her shoulder.
"You got a death wish?" Hyde hissed as he pushed Kelso away from Jackie, shoving him into the wall "Touch her again and you're dead"
"That's not fair! She's mine!" Kelso whined, trying to free himself from Hyde’s tight grasp. He sent a pleading look at his friends sitting on the couch, but they didn’t move “Guys! A little help here?!”
"Nah, I’m good,” Eric said, wrapping his arms around his angry girlfriend’s shoulders
“Kick his ass, Hyde!” Donna yelled from her seat, and Kelso shrieked in indignation again.
“Fez! Little buddy! Come on!” He pleaded
“You, my friend, are a whore!” Fez said “Jackie and Hyde have sparks and chemistry, and you and Jackie didn’t! Get over it!”
“No! I’m not going to get over it! Jackie’s mine!”
“I’m not! We broke up months ago, you moron!” Jackie said angrily “And I want to be with Steven. Not you. Steven! Got it?!”
“But...”
Kelso tried to escape again, but Hyde’s grip on him tightened and Kelso started having trouble breathing.
“Kelso, get the fuck out of here before I kill you” Hyde hissed at him
“No! I’ll...” Kelso choked out, but Hyde interrupted him
“I’m saying, get out, and go cool off”
“But Jackie...”
“Go cool off, Kelso” Hyde repeated threateningly, and Kelso gulped in fear “And until you’re cool with the fact that Jackie and I are together, and are going to stay together, you can’t come back here”
“This isn’t even your basement!” Kelso tried to argue, looking at Eric, but the boy just shrugged
“Actually, he literally lives here, so the basement is more his than mine at this point,” Eric said “And I agree with Hyde. You’re being a dick and you shouldn’t come back until you... y’know, stop being a dick”
“Fine!” Kelso yelled, and Hyde let him go. Kelso stomped his way out of the basement, making sure to slam the door on his way out, and Jackie walked over to Hyde, wrapping her arms around his waist.
“If he doesn’t leave me alone, I won’t be hanging out here anymore,” She said, and Hyde hugged her back, tucking her head under his chin.
“Don’t worry about it, Jackie” Donna said, smiling at the cute sight in front of her “We got your back”

Back Home with a Trophy & a Baby- Ben Chilwell
It was the week of the champions final, Ben was busy with training and some interviews. But in his free time at night, he would lie next to me and always lay his head on my growing belly and talk sweet words to our baby.
I was 8 months pregnant, and we still didn't know what sex our baby was. We wanted it to be a surprise, even though we were dying to know. When the team reached the Champions League final and found out that it would be played in Porto. Ben and I started having little arguments on whether or not I should attend the final. Due to my condition, I was not recommended to get on a plane, especially when you are at a stage where the baby could be born at any moment.
The day before he left we had another little talk. We still hadn't decided if I would attend the game or not. Although the doctor had given us green light for me to attend the game because everything was under control and it wasn't a long flight. According to him, the baby was going to stay in my belly for a couple more weeks, but Ben wasn't so sure. He feared that maybe I would start having contractions during the flight or, worse, that the baby would want to be born while he was at the game.
I was in the kitchen making dinner when he got home.
"I think you should stay," Ben said, placing a flight ticket and the game pass over the table. "I will be more relaxed if you stay, but I will also feel at ease knowing that you are in the stands supporting me, so... I let it up to you".
I walked and stood in front of him, placing my arms around his neck and playing with his hair. I looked him in the eyes and said
"I'm going to be fine, I mean we're going to be fine." I took his hand and placed it on my belly so he could feel the baby move.
Ben smiled and kissed me on the forehead.
"I know, I just can't help but worry about you two".
"How would you feel if I thought about it over the next few days, and let you know what I've decided?"
"I'm fine with that." He smiled and then said, "what's that smell?"
"Oh, I made your favorite food because I was craving it," He laughed and walked over to the stove to serve himself a plate.
"Let's have dinner then"
In the morning, Ben got up early for a final training session at Cobham before leaving for Portugal.
"Please, let me know what you decide Y/N, whether you go or stay¨ Ben said, taking his things and placing them in the back of the car.
I was in my pajamas standing in the door frame leading to our garage watching his movements. It was very early, but I had to say goodbye to him and wish him good luck because, whether I was going or not, it was very likely that I would see him after the game.
"We're staying, so don't worry. The baby and I want you to stay focused." Ben came over to me and kneeled, placing his hands and forehead on my belly.
"I'm going to get that win and bring that trophy home so when you grow up I can tell you about that great day."
Pregnancy hormones and Ben's words made me cry. He stood up and looked me in the eyes.
"I know I'm going to see you in a couple of days, but I don't want to leave without saying thank you"
"Thank you for what?" I asked, confused with my voice shaking from crying.
"For making me the luckiest man alive, because you are an extraordinary woman who is doing a great job with our baby. I can't wait to have him or her in our arms."Ben placed his hands on my cheeks and put his forehead on mine, "I love you so much Y/N, thank you for being my support, I don't know what I would do without you"
"I love you too Ben, thank you for all you have done for us, and for showing us not to give up and work on our dreams, I know you are a great team and you are going to win. I don't need to wish you good luck, because that victory is already yours." I gave him a soft and deep kiss. Whenever Ben plays away I get a little touchy, even though I know he'll be back in a day or two.
We hugged one more time before he got in the car and drove away.
I walked into the house and saw the tickets on the table. Even when I had told Ben that I would stay because I didn't want to worry him and needed him to keep the promise he had made to our baby before he left. I told the Footballer a little white lie.
The next day, I got dressed in comfortable clothes, grabbed my suitcase, and called an Uber to take me to the airport.
As we took off, I remembered that I hadn't told Ben about my change of plans. After a couple of hours, we landed, everything under control and the baby still in my belly. It was a safe and quiet flight and I slept through it. On the way to the hotel, I was thinking about how to communicate to Ben that I was not in London but Porto.
After checking into the hotel and settling into my room, I sent a message to Ben.
Y/N Babe, I need to tell u smth
He replied almost immediately.
Benjamin Please don't tell me the baby is born
I laughed at his worries.
Y/N Nop, baby still on my belly
Benjamin Phew! then what's it?
Y/N You won't believe me, but we're here
Benjamin Here? where? He didn't understand
Y/N Porto.
I replied straight to the point.
It's been 5 minutes since I told him I was in Portugal and he still doesn't answer my message. I don't know whether to worry. Maybe he got annoyed. A couple of minutes later my cell phone showed an incoming call from Ben, and as soon as I answered I heard his voice.
"It was that a joke y/n? because if it was..." I interrupted him.
"It wasn't a joke Ben, I'm here in Portugal. I'm at the hotel"
"Oh my god! you're such a liar, why didn't you tell me?"
"Because I changed my mind at the last minute, everything went so fast that I forgot to tell you."
"I can't believe you did it... "
"Are you mad at me?" I asked out of the blue. I couldn't deal with the feeling of guilt for not telling him.
"What! no, I'm not mad. I'm actually glad you're here."
We kept talking for a little longer until we had to end the call because of his pre-match duties.
It's Saturday morning, game day. I sent a text to Ben wishing him good luck and that I would see him later to celebrate. Later I was already in the stands waiting for the game to start. The opening ceremony gave me goosebumps. It was unbelievable. I was glad I was at the game and didn't miss this special day; because I couldn't have lived knowing how everyone was talking about this special day and I didn't get to see it.
The teams took to the field and lined up in front of the sideline for the anthem once again. I noticed that Chelsea's number 21 was discreetly looking for me. When he found me, he signaled to let me know he had seen me. The signal was to run his hand through his hair, so the fans wouldn't go looking for the person he had waved at. Which made it a special moment between us.
The stadium erupted in cheers and celebrations when Kai scored the goal that gave us the lead. I screamed and celebrated as I had never done before. We were winning. A few minutes before the end of the first half, I felt a liquid running down my legs, had I peed?
In the bathroom, while wiping myself, I realized that it wasn't pee, but that my water had broken. I tried to stay calm and not panic; there was still halftime left to play. I took a deep breath, adjusted my dress, and went back to the stands.
The referee added 7 minutes. My nerves were clutching my stomach, plus the baby was also nervous because I could feel it moving. When the ref blew the final whistle I let out the breath I didn't know I was holding, it was the longest 7 minutes of my life.
Everyone in the stands was celebrating, the boys and Ben were hugging each other. They couldn't believe it. I was so happy celebrating and watching the awards that for a moment I forgot my water had broken. It was a little pain that reminded me that the baby could be born at any moment.
When they allowed the families to enter the field, Ben came for me. The huge smile on his face and the medal around his neck made me emotional. As soon as he was near we hugged and both burst into tears. I was so proud of him, I still couldn't believe he was Champion of Europe.
"You did it!" I told him wiping the tears that were running down his cheeks "I told you you would be a champion, I am so proud of you".
"I still can't believe it, I'm over the moon," he smiled and kissed my temple "Thank you! Thank you for coming and being here with me"
"I couldn't miss this day for anything in the world"
"I'm glad you didn't miss it"
We continued celebrating until the guys went back to the locker room to get ready for the celebration party.
We had just arrived at the place when I started to feel stronger pains. I didn't want Ben to miss the party, so I tried to mask them with the breathing exercises I had been taught in my prenatal classes. But I couldn't take it anymore and doubled over in pain.
"Babe, you okay?" Ben asked, kneeling next to me. I shook my head.
"I think the baby is coming," I said, inhaling and exhaling. "at halftime my water broke".
"What? Why didn't you tell me before?" his voice sounded worried.
"Because... at that moment... it didn't hurt." my voice cracked in pain.
"We have to go to a hospital" he took out his cellphone and asked for an Uber to the nearest hospital.
When we arrived, the nurses attended to me quickly and took me to a room. They asked me a couple of questions, luckily they spoke English. Ben filled out the paperwork for my admission, while we waited for the doctor. As soon as he came in and checked me over and said.
"This baby is ready" what! but it was still a couple of weeks before I was due. "Get things ready for delivery and call the pediatrician."
All the nurses started moving quickly and I started to freak out.
"Calm down," Ben said, taking my hand and kissing me "It's going to be okay, I'm with you."
"Okay," the doctor said, "on my signal, you're going to push as hard as you can, okay?", I nodded.
"You can do it, sweetie, now it's your turn to bring our trophy into the world."
"Now!" the doctor said.
After pushing three or four times, I heard our baby cry.
"Congratulations! It's a boy," the doctor said. "Do you want to cut the umbilical cord?" he asked, looking at Ben, and Ben nodded. A nurse handed Ben a pair of scissors. Watching him cut the cord was the most beautiful moment.
As soon as it was cleaned up, they took the baby away to check that he was healthy and strong because he had been born a couple of weeks earlier. strong because he had been born a couple of weeks before.
"You did great Y/N," Ben said, kissing my lips "he is going to be fine".
Ben texted our family and the lads at Chelsea to let them know that everything had gone well and that the baby was healthy.
A couple of hours later a nurse came in with our little boy in her arms and handed him to me.
I couldn't believe that this little human being had come out of me.
"Look at him, he is as handsome as his daddy," said Ben next to me, I let out a little laugh.
"I know, he's going to be a little heartbreaker."
"I don't know which one of you two I should thank, but you have certainly made this day unforgettable" Ben's eyes were covered with a couple of tears, he was over the moon, "I'm a double champion, I won a title and a baby".
"Who knew you were going to come home with a trophy and a baby," I laughed.
Our baby was still very small but I did not doubt that he was a clone of Ben.
Since everything was under control and he was a healthy baby, the next day they let us go. So our little guy came out dressed in a Chelsea onesie that the team sent us, plus other essentials for Ben and I that we didn't have because it was all unexpected. They also sent us the baby seat so we could take him home.
We didn't know if taking a newborn on a plane was a good idea, but we couldn't stay longer in Portugal. Luckily, the doctor said there was no problem, as our baby was healthy and could handle a couple of hours on the plane. At the hospital they helped us with the paperwork so we didn't have any problems when we arrived in London.
I was glad we were going back to London with the rest of the team because then Ben could still celebrate with them. The kids and families watching us were excited, all wanting to meet little Ben.
"Congratulations, Dad," Mason said as soon as he saw his teammate.
"Thanks, buddy," they hugged. "Would you like to be his godfather?"
Mason smiled and said.
"No need to ask."
When we found out I was pregnant, we spent more time wondering who was going to be our baby's godfather rather than thinking about names. We both agreed it would be Mason since he was a close friend of both of ours.
As soon as we landed we went straight home. We wanted to rest and assimilate everything that had happened over the weekend. I was glad that our baby was born early because Ben was able to be present at the birth and enjoy our boy for a couple of days before he left for his international duties.

Sirius is Disowned, Part 1:
London, July 12th, 2012.
Content Warning: Mentions of Abuse in upbringing, Toxic masculinity, Homophobia.
"Jo! Jamie, has he answered you?"
"Hey Padsie, good morning. What can I do for you on this day?"
"Wanker"
James laughed "Who are you talking about?"
"Amm... Moony"
Sirius had been calling him all summer. He always answered. Not this time. Sirius didn't know how to talk to him after the Snape Incident. Sirius was embarrassed. James had been the one to talk and apologize. James was always the brave one. Sirius didn't know why he panicked and couldn't speak. It felt like every word he said, would be misunderstood. So he prefered to not speak.
"Nop, mate" James sighed in response.
"What if he hates us forever?"
"He doesn't hate us" James tried to be comfortive "He said it was okay"
"Yeah okay..." he snorted "You know nothing is the same now"
And Sirius missed him. Remus was quiet when he clearly could make a sarcastic comment. Remus didn't smile at Sirius during class, or exchange notes with him anymore. Remus used to tell Sirius he was acting like an idiot when he was. Now nobody did. Not like Remus. Nobody shared a cigarette with him. Sirius missed how he laughed, or got angry, or relaxed around Remus.
Exams and the week after were torture for The Marauders. And Snape walking around with his purple eye and swollen lip, reminded them of their mistake.
"Yeah you are right, let's talk about something else"
"Okaay...How's your summer?"
"Like hell"
"Mine is boring. Uuh, the other day I was walking with dad..."
But Sirius couldn't concentrate. His mind drove to Remus again.
"I mean it's not like we did something wrong..." Sirius interrupted
"Uh..."
"We were bloody defending him! He should be thankful instead of angry, you know? What the fuck?"
"Just to be clear, are you talking about Remus or my dad?"
"FUCKING REMUS, MATE"
"Okaay, handsome. No need to yell"
"Sorry..."
"You care a lot about Remus, ha?"
"He is my friend. Our friend. He's a friend"
James laughed and Sirius detested that. It was as if James knew something Sirius didn't.
"What?"
"Nothing" James continued laughing, "I mean, you care. You're sensitive and adorable..."
"Shut up!"
James laughed more.
"Don't worry, you'll be able to apologize and give Remus a kiss"
"Fuck you, Prongs. I am not a puff"
James stopped laughing "I was joking, mate"
"Me too"
"Fine"
"Fine" Sirius sighed "Sorry, I wish I could escape this hellhole"
"Please come to mine. You know my parents love you more than me"
Sirius laughed relaxing "True"
"Wanker..."
KNOCK, KNOCK, KNOCK. Sirius froze. Sirius had tried to spend most of his time in his room. Everytime he went out, he ended up fighting with his mother, or being yelled by his father, or being reminded how much of a good son Regulus was, and how Sirius should be more like him. So Sirius prefered to remain in his room the whole summer.
"I have to go, Jamieboy" Sirius whispered
James must've noticed the nervousness in his voice, because he asked:
"Is everything okay?"
"Yeah" Sirius snorted fakely "Probably mother to complain about how my hair is too long or something"
"Pads..."
"Bye, Prongs" he hung up.
KNOCK, KNOCK.
"WHAT?? FUCK OFF I'M BUSY!!"
"I hope you're not doing something indecent, kid"
Sirius smiled, recognizing the voice. It wasn't his mother, or worse his father. It was Uncle Alphard.
For Sirius, Alphard was the coolest person alive, after David Bowie of course. Thanks to that man, Sirius had learned to have fun at family gatherings. Last summer, Alphard had taken Sirius to the coolest clubs and places in Paris. Alphard knew how to enjoy life. No wife, no kids. Just himself and his freedom. And the best part was that nobody caught him. Sirius wanted to be just like him.
Sirius ran to open the door. Alphard was always casually elegant, with a half smile on his face, and hands in his trouser pockets.
"Uncle Alphard!"
"Kid..."
Although Alphard hated physical contact. Hugging and stuff. So Sirius contained himself.
"What are you doing here?"
Alphard's smile disappear.
"Do you have some time?"
Sirius smiled "Are you gonna take me somewhere? A party? A festival? Lunch with friends?"
"Not this time, kid"
"Oh..."
Alphard had never been in Sirius' room. He stepped in observing everything with a smile on his face. Sirius' room was everything that his parents disliked: rock band posters, David Bowie with makeup, Motorbikes with half naked girls on them. The room was messy, everything on the floor. The bed unmade.
"If you want to live like a fucking pig, then that's how you're going to live, Sirius" Walburga had said. Actually yelled. And no one from service had come to clean it. And Sirius didn't clean as well. Just to drive his mother more crazy.
Alphard laughed and turned to Sirius.
"My sister complained about your room"
"Are you here to scold me?"
Alphard shook his head "I'm here to say goodbye"
Sirius raised an eyebrow "Where are you going?"
"Rome" Alphard took a seat on Sirius' messy bed
"Can I go with you?" Sirius beamed "You can convince mother, just like you did two years ago"
Summer of 2010, when Sirius went to The Potter's Beach House at Camber Sands. Alphard had told Walburga Sirius would spend the summer with him. Orion had been reluctant, he didn't like uncle Alphard. Walburga had shrugged "I'm taking Regulus to Paris anyway"
"I need to go alone, Sirius" Alphard sighed "I have important business to do there"
Sirius sighed frustrated "When will you be back? By the end of summer?"
Alphard shook his head.
"By Christmas, then?"
Alphard didn't answer.
"Uncle Alphard, Are you even coming back?"
Panic on Sirius' voice. Alphard was the only one that Sirius considered family. Regulus was far from what he used to be. Sirius' cousins were annoying and hypocritical, now that they were adults. Well Andy was cool. It had been awesome how she left Lestrange on the altar to run away with that Tonks lad. And she wrote emails to Sirius occasionally, but Sirius wasn't that close to her as he was with Alphard.
"I don't think so, kid" Alphard answered carefully
Sirius swallowed his tears. This summer was getting even worse. Remus was angry. Sirius was stuck in his room. Alphard was leaving. Alphard was leaving...
"Fuck you Alphard, you can't just leave me"
Alphard's eyes widened by the bad word, but then he smiled.
"Are we gonna lose respect for each other now?"
"I'll come with you" Sirius assured "I don't care. I can live in Rome"
Alphard shook his head "No kid, you have your life here"
"A shitty life"
"What about your friends?" Alphard asked "You like your friends"
Sirius did. The Marauders were his chosen family. Even if Remus hated him now. And Marlene was cool. Mary was acceptable and funny. And Evans... Evans was not that bad.
"They can come and visit me"
Alphard smiled "I wish I could take you with me, but I can't" he said "Not this time, kid"
Sirius was trying so hard not to break down crying. He had to be a man.
"What would I do without you?" Sirius' voice broke. He maintained his gaze on the floor, otherwise, he was going to cry.
Alphard stood up. He walked towards Sirius and put a hand on his shoulder. Sirius wished he could hug him.
"You are the cool one" Sirius continued "You're...you're..." My only family.
"You are way cooler and braver than me, Sirius" Alphard said
Sirius looked up. And stared into the same grey-blue eyes that he owned. The ones every Black owned.
"I want you to promise me something, kid" Alphard continued "Don't let them change you. Don't let them mold you. Okay?"
"What do you mean?" Sirius asked confused
Alphard sighed he turned away and began pacing.
"I was never brave enough to face my parents and tell them what I hate. I wasn't brave enough to tell them who I was, what I liked and what I didn't like" Alphard sniffed "I wasn't brave enough to defend others from injustice. All I did was hide. Deceive. Lie" he faced Sirius again "I don't want that happening to you, Sirius"
Sirius didn't know what to say. All his life he had admired the way Alphard sneaked out of a family dinner to go to a club. The way Alphard knew how to control everyone. The way Alphard didn't lose patience when Orion accused him of "corrupting" Sirius.
And now, his uncle was telling him that he regretted all that.
"I've always admired you, Sirius" Alphard continued "You say what you think, and do what you think is right. And you're not scared of the consequences"
Sirius was scared of the consequences. The thing was that he didn't think before speaking or acting. Walburga's nasty reactions and Orion's horrible punishments, made Sirius regret everything in an instant. But it was too late.
"I'm not sure about that" Sirius murmured
"Yes, I am sure" Alphard smiled "Sirius, your parents, and your uncle Cygnus perhaps as well, will try to turn you into what they want. But Sirius, being a man is not about being tough, never crying and shagging girls..."
Sirius blushed. That's exactly what Orion had told Sirius last year. The father-to-son talk. Orion had even been nice for a minute. "I'm gonna show you how to be a man, son. Men are not weak. Men do not cry like girls or pussies, okay? Manhood is about toughness and courage. Women don't like pussies. They like men who are strong and who can control their feelings"
"It doesn't matter if you are different, or who you feel attracted to" Alphard added.
Sirius shook his head "I'm not gay"
Alphard laughed "I wasn't saying that. But if you were, it would be okay"
"I like girls, Uncle Alphard" Sirius repeated "I'm just a free spirit, like you"
Alphard didn't answer. He just smiled.
"I want to give you this..."
Alphard took a ring out of his finger. And gave it to Sirius. Sirius recognized it immediately. A silver ring. It had carved a warrior riding on a horse killing a beast, something like a dragon. Sirius had been fascinated the first time he saw his uncle wear it. Alphard had brought it from one of his trips.
"I thought you were never giving this to anyone" Sirius said
"I guess I could make an exception for my favorite nephew" Alphard smiled.
And Sirius couldn't take it anymore. He hugged Alphard tightly. A few tears running down his face.
"I'm gonna miss you"
"Me too, kid" Alphard gave into the hug and patted his nephew's back "Me too"
Sirius broke apart after a while. And cleared his throat.
"Promise me you will write"
"As long as you promise me to be yourself, no matter what" Alphard smiled.
Sirius still didn't understand what he meant. But he nodded.
"I promise"

This is how I imagine the ring that Alphard gives Sirius.

I Want It That Way
Summery: Akutagawa is singing the backstreet boys and Atsushi is having a mental breakdown because of it
Characters: Atsushi & Akutagawa
Gen: Drabble
Akutagawa was humming. Atsushi wasn’t sure what exactly he was humming, but he definitely was and Atsushi has never felt as creeped out as he did right then at that very moment. Well-
That was a lie. The creepiness he was feeling at that moment had nothing on the shivers that ran up his spine like tiny little creepy crawlers when he stumbled next to the other man during their joint fight and actually heard what exactly he was singing.
“Rock your body~” he was muttering under his breath as he shielded them both. “Everybody~ Rock your body right~ Backstreets back alright~!”
Atsushi could have died right then and there and he wasn’t sure if even that could stop the nightmare vision he was having right now.
‘What the fuck!’ his mind screamed. ‘What the actual fuck!’
He wanted to cry, he wanted to curl up into a ball and just hide from this cruel and twisted world. Since when did the Akutagawa, rabid dog of the Port Mafia fucking sing Backstreet boys? Why? How? Why?
When Akutagawa snapped at him to focus after almost getting hit, all the weretiger could do was rub a furious hand over his watery eyes and nod with hidden terror. “Sorry,” he shouted, jumping from the targeted spot. “Sorry, was just distracted for a sec.”
“Fucking weretiger,” Akutagawa tsked and that was the end of it. Well- at least that’s what he’d thought.
---
The second time he heard that blasted song coming from his archrival’s lips was during a mundane meeting between the Agency and the Port Mafia. They had been stationed next to each other; close to the giant double doors, and while Atsushi had been bored out of his skull shifting this way and that, the taller dark-haired man hadn’t moved an inch, and Atsushi honestly thought he was asleep until he started that cursed humming again.
He had almost managed to convince himself that the incident had all been a fever dream, that it hadn’t actually happened and that he was just imagining things due to an untimely concussion or something, but nop, it really had happened, because-
“Oh.my.God we’re back again~”
Atsushi whimpered.
“Brothers, sisters, everybody sing~”
Atsushi softly cried,
But when the older male very subtly started to move in his position as if-as if, he was dancing?
Atsushi fainted.
----
“You have to believe me Dazai-san please!”
Dazai as expected was smiling at him with condescending amusement, and if Atsushi had been a lesser man, he might have clawed his eyes out at the blatant disrespect, but alas-
“Come on Dazai-san!”
“I’m sorry Atsushi-kun,” he sing-songed. “I just have a hard time believing little Akutagawa-kun is capable of singing anything let alone a song so out of his comfort zone he genuinely might croak if it was played in his vicinity.”
“But it’s true!”
He got a condescending pat on the head for his concern.
Atsushi had never hated Dazai-san more.
----
Atsushi blinked up at the ceiling of the infirmary. Things hadn’t gone as well as usual this time around. Every part of his body ached like never before, and he would have honestly started pitying himself if the screams next door hadn’t made him send it all over to his poor partner that unfortunately didn’t have the ability to selfheal.
Yosano was really making a meal out of it. Probably revenge, he thought. Yawning loudly he closed his eyes and didn’t open them till the other male was wheeled in next to him. “Now don’t move till you’re told so,” Yosano-san said, backing away from the bed after giving the Port Mafia member a quick once over.
He coughed. “Thank you.”
Atsushi smiled. Akutagawa had gotten much better at that type of thing. He briefly contemplated if he was the reason for the change, before brushing it aside just as quickly.
“You’re welcome,” was Yosano-san's reply; voice a lot more gentle this time.“Something I can get you before I take my leave?”
“My phone if it isn’t too much trouble.”
She fished it out from her pocket before turning around and leaving with a passing goodbye.
Atsushi opened his mouth to say something in the dawning silence that fell over them, but before he could-
~~~I’ve got a question for you, better answer now~~~
...It was the phone...
...The song was coming out of Akutagawa’s phone...
Atsushi choked. Vision darkening once again, and only a soft concerned whisper of Jinko? Following him into the abyss.
----
He was done, it was over, he needed this to end, to stop. Any longer and Atsushi couldn’t promise his own sanity any longer.
The orphanage might not have broken him, but fuck-
Akutagawa singing that-that song might legitimately do him in.
They were both on another mission again. This time accompanied by Chuuya and Dazai respectively.
“Why can’t I work with Chuuya-san?” Akutagawa questioned after Dazai had briefed them on the upcoming plan. If Atsushi hadn’t gotten to know him as well as he did over the year, he might have actually missed that slight tilt in his voice that suggested of begrudging disappointment.
Huh
Who would have thought? Just a year after their last huge team up and Akutagawa was already moving on from Dazai-san's acceptance.
Dazai most have noticed the tone as well, because his smile widened even further. “Awww, doesn’t little Akutagawa-kun wanna team up with me anymore? I’m hurt~”.
Chuuya scoffed, slapping the taller male on the back of the head. “Shut up bandaged freak,” he snapped, but the little smile dancing at the corner of his lips was evince of how pleased he was of the fact that Akutagawa chose him over the other man.
Well, it didn’t really matter to Atsushi, in fact, this was perfect. Chuuya-san seemed to know Akutagawa pretty well, so maybe he could shed light on this new fixation he had on that ridiculous song.
----
“Chuuya-san?”
“Hmmmm?”
“Can I ask you something?”
“Sure kid, go ahead.”
Their mission had gotten off without a hitch and Atsushi had finally built up the courage to ask the burning question in his chest.
“It’s about Akutagawa.”
“Oh,” Chuuya momentarily turned around to look back at him with a curious face. “What about him?”
Atsushi gnawed at his bottom lip in thought. How could he phrase this question exactly? How did you tell the superior officer of your partner that said partner’s singing habit was disturbing you and you wanted it to stop?
He opened his mouth, but before any profound sound could escape past his lips, their two other companions rounded the corner. “All done,” Dazai called out to them.
Chuuya-san bellowed back in the affirmative, before doing something that made the white-haired teen next to him pale in horror.
“You are my fire~” he sang loudly, actually making Dazai-san stop and blink in confusion. Good, Atsushi thought, serves him right. “The one desire~ Believe when I say I want it that way~” he continued, and Atsushi just wanted to die. This couldn’t be happening.
It was like a switch turned inside Akutagawa’s head, because he started to bob his head to some unknown music before echoing back the familiar lines while adding the next once “But We Are Two Worlds Apart~ Can't Reach To Your Heart~”
With those words he cranked up the volume on his phone before finishing with as much of a flair as the rabid dog of the Port Mafia could have. “When You Say That I Want It That WAAAY~”.
Dazai-san looked so disturbed; Atsushi would have genuinely found it funny if he himself wasn’t currently experiencing unrecoverable trauma.
He fainted when they reached the chores.
----
He was later told by a highly amused Dazai-san that apparently that song had become Chuuya-san's and Akutagawa’s inside joke/bonding song when the former’s phone accidentally played the song while trying to discreetly sneak into an enemy base.
They had somehow miraculously gotten out of the sticky situation but ever since then it had become some sort of a running joke between them, and they had taken to singing that whenever in a tough spot or after a mission.
Dazai-san found it hilarious.
Atsushi thought it was horrifying,
Ok, maybe slightly cute and funny too, but definitely horrifying.
And if he’d started humming the dumb thing himself from time to time, well-
Who could blame him? And it made Akutagawa smile and yeah, that was ok. It was fine. Akutagawa needed to smile more anyways.
