WHITEHEADS – When the pores of the skin become too clogged up and close over, it causes a bulge on the surface of the skin. This is commonly known as having a ‘whitehead’.
BLACKHEADS – If a pore gets too clogged but remains open, the surface of the skin can darken. This is commonly known as having a ‘blackhead’.
PIMPLES – Another common occurrence are ‘pimples’. These appear when the wall of a skin pore opens, allowing sebum, bacteria, and dead skin cells to seep under the under the skin.
When this happens, you are left with a small, red bump called a pimple. Pimples can manifest as a bump under the surface of the skin, or have a pus-filled top.
