#no she was never canonically a mermaid but I kept misremembering her as “Mermaid Power Girl” so that's what goes in my headcanons

Did the Atlantean sorceror Arion meddle with Power Girl’s (Karen Starr’s, not Paige/Galatea’s… though I guess there’s no reason it couldn’t have happened to her instead) memories to lead her to believe she was his granddaughter for a time in the BronzeRealms? Or has that been ironed out of her history for the BronzeRealms?
There are three Power Girls.
Power Girl, Karen Starr, from another universe
Galatea, Paige Stetler, clone imposter, chi warrior
(previous post about just those two here)
And the very real unbrainwashed granddaughter of Arion, the mermaid sorceress Karan Zal.
Zal has only rarely been to the surface world, and didn't know about either of the others when she awakened from her millennia of mystical slumber and found out the King of East Atlantis is calling himself "Aquaman" and decided to start calling herself "Power Girl".
Aquaman knew, and kept his mouth shut because he thought the coincidence was absolutely hilarious. It was years before Black Manta mistook Karan for Karen and spilled the beans, and a few more years before the two Power Girls actually met.
Galatea had already vanished into the mountains before the Mermaid Power Girl started making more regular above-water appearances, so they still haven't met.
