So wait are there actually people out there who think Dreamstat is actually Lestat, or are people just complaining about other people voicing concerns about how Dreamstat might be handled/overused to point where it might continously take us out of the moment?

Because yeah no duh we all know this is happening in Louis's head. But there are other ways to handle a haunting that doesn't feel potentially jarring/cheap/an obvious way to give Sam Reid something to do this season. A good show doesn't need to literally always show us what a character's thinking in order to get a grasp on their mental status. A good show will enable us to infer it well enough through subtler means, while also leaving room to look at other things happening in a scene. IWTV has so far handled that aspect well, because despite the constant commentary, there is still a lot more under the surface with these characters.

Also, saying people complaining about Dreamstat are just people with shipping issues just blatantly misses the point.

#late night blogging #iwtv discourse #should i delete this later?#like come on guys don't be this dense #i hope no one misinterpreted my ask yesterday and thought i was just being stupid and had loumand brainrot #i thought i made myself clear many times and had also stated i was undecided on my feelings yet trusted the writers #but this isn't even getting into how the show was being marketed #like do we REALLY think the way the season was being promoted wasn't very shipping focused with the way they advertised dreamstat/lestat #like yes i wish they'd stuck to mainly louis and claudia promotion because clearly this season has so far been mostly about them #but why is it suddenly our fault if we think about the portrayal of romantic relationships after seeing that promotion?#once again i'm saving my opinions until i see the whole season and yes my fandom perspectives are always subjected to constant change lol #i hope they do a respectful portrayal of louis's mental turmoil though and not make it a cheap way to get laughs #like already so much of the fandom is like louis's so insane bbygirl and armand can never compete with lestat lololololol #no let's trust the show will touch on the negative effects of domestic abuse/codependency and how we end up carrying it with us forever
