hey folks who interact with creative works online! just a tiny PSA
If you don't like a character, that's totally fine! If you have a different reading of a situation in a show & have issues with stuff that's going on, that's also fine.
What is NOT fine is to ACTIVELY SEEK OUT fans of the characters you don't like and talk shit about them, the characters they have feelings about, or the content they've posted b/c you, Freddy McHatesalot really needs to tell everyone how much you dislike a...fictional character.
You are totally welcome to consume content in your own space in whatever way you see fit. It is disrespectful of the fandom space to try to drag other people into your space and interact with you if they don't want to. And dunking on a character in writings or art of them is fucking rude as hell to the person who put work into into the creation they made out of some feelings they were having.
Also. side note, it is possible to enjoy a character who is Wrong About Some Things or Isn't Doing The Right Stuff In The Right Situation. Sometimes it's possible to like a character and disagree with them, and shitting on people b/c you can't see what they see in a character is pretty trash garbage and is 90% of why I just make silly little art for me and my own silly feels and hope folks get a chuckle or some enjoyment out of it too.

A) Thanks for visiting! Don't worry, you aren't the only one this was referring to, and it isn't the first time I've tried to steer a Tumblr post away from crude attitudes that help no one. Probably won't be the last. ;) The "vindicated" part just meaning it's nice to be reminded that people still enjoy coming up with "reasons" to dislike someone because they can't let little things go.
B) If it's something that interests me, I'll engage it, and if it can't be settled reasonably, I'll move on. It's the internet lol, it isn't worth it. Having satisfied my curiosity on your original post and recognizing I wouldn't change your opinion, I let it go. This post was for my followers, who generally know better than to engage trollish opinions.
C) Which is more laughable, the fact that I responded to a post bearing a tag that I follow since it came up on my dash? or someone else deciding they couldn't drop the issue and instead rooting through another blog to make a separate issue out of it because....why? attention? (The petty name-calling was a nice touch.)
It's not "attracting random people", that's how Tumblr is designed to work. If you really want to not engage people who follow those tags, you can also create your own. For example, next time you're bored enough to sift through my randomness, check out the tag "superglue", which I use because I didn't want my rants against a subpar television series to spam people who actually like the show.
In any case, how about we stop trying to put others down in an attempt to build ourselves up? Find people and things you admire and respect and enjoy that. Ignore the trolls. Agree to disagree. Spend your energy on something a little more worthwhile.
You're welcome to peruse my blog, as everyone is. If you do keep trying to take issue with me on this after the discussion was dropped, I may block you from interacting with my posts. I just have no inclination to respond to this continued behavior. Again, it's just the internet, just people. There's life to be lived. Relax, take a deep breath, and enjoy the blogs you like. Mine is very musical theatery, with a lot of appreciation for that "human grease stain" as you so eloquently stated, so you're more than welcome, but I don't think you'll be happy with the content.
Not really sure why I engage trolls, guys. Someday I’ll learn. But it’s always nice to be vindicated. XD Anyways, this blog is resuming it’s regular programming now. ;)
