if u have any safe dbd content providers pls let me know! and somehow horror fandoms really have that tendency to idolize the killers or fetishize them and it just really rubs me the wrong way... it's okay to enjoy a villain but waving some of the stuff they did away is wrong imo (im thinking of freddy the most here who def did the most fucked up shit out of all of em, some people just adore him in ways they shouldn't)

Ye, enjoy any character you want like duh, but some people do seem to not get the concept of liking a character without liking them as a person/excusing everything they do, which is wild. You don’t gotta stan a character to enjoy them. I mean even in family/non-serious media, like, do I love Yzma from The Emperor’s New Groove? Absolutely. Eartha Kitt was a goddess in that role, she’s hilarious and an icon. Is she a good person? Adkfsld No. She doesn’t even have any redeeming qualities. She’s trying to kill a teenager the whole movie and wants to rule the empire and mock peasants and let them starve. But she’s a fantastic character that I love. As a person? She’s super evil tho. It’s p simple. My favorite Ghostface from Scream is by far the one from Scream 3, because they’re the most interesting and engaging/enjoyable to watch to me, but they absolutely are a terrible person. I enjoy them as a character a lot, but yo, they f’d up, and none of what they did was ok. Ya know? And yeah, it’s not chill to act like stuff like Freddy or some of the other killers did is fine, because it super isn’t, and that kind of stuff irks me too. 

And sure! For content providers, I know quite a few artists, and not any writers, but I’m happy to list some of the art blogs! Uh let me see. Haha. I feel bad because I’m very sure I’m leaving people out, but artists I regularly see stuff from/enjoy who don’t draw torture porn kinda stuff in the regular lineup include:  @eggchef @wackflounder @neilusgrey @xmafiacatx @solelystarling @betadwight @earthayan @wetmin @jayjester @spinalfluids @kardcore @kathi-linchen  --- Also. @ourwarbird doesn’t really draw DbD anymore, but if you haven’t seen their stuff, they’ve got quite a lot of nice stuff in the Dead by Daylight tag on their blog. @cryinglittlepeople does a bunch of Bleach & DbD, not DbD exclusively/mostly, but still v active doing dbd art, and really good at it (and dedicatedly tag like tw drugs type stuff on art so if there’s anything you want to filter, it’s easy/thoughtfully formatted). And @tan-abe unless you’re someone that has trouble w gore. Got some real cute parkfield. Also @nnnnnngh has some real nice dbd art, and did some for ILM that give me great joy. TuT
