Songs that reminds me of Dionysus ⊹ ࣪ ˖
Hello everyone🍇 This is my playlist of songs that remind me of the time I started working with Dionysus, or the songs that make me feel most connected to him. Maybe some songs don't have any Dionysian vibes, but they are important to me because they make me feel free, wild, and confident. They allow me to show my true colors and not be afraid to reveal who I really am, which is really important for my soul and for my Sag moon! >ᴗ< hope you like it♡

Will.of.Oz (Unexpected Musical) — PattyCake Productions music video
youtube
For the third offering in their Unexpected Musicals series, the PattyCake guys got even more ambitious. Combining the club jams of the Black Eyed Peas with the spectacle of The Wizard of Oz required a bigger cast and more locations than their first two videos. Not to mention all the costumes, props, set pieces, and visual effects. But they pulled all of it off with their own unique flair.
Details:
title: Unexpected Musicals – Will.of.Oz
performers: Rachel Copeland (Dorothy); Alexander Browne (Scarecrow / coronor / Winkie guard); E. Michael Evans (Tin Man); Earl Elkins, Jr. (Cowardly Lion); Olivia Adkins (Glinda); Kathy Castellucci (Wicked Witch); Fletcher Wakim (Toto); Eli Jacobson (Lollipop Guild); Annesley Kolb, Kelsey Kolb, & Lilly Kolb (Lullaby League); Charlie Crook, Blanca Rosero, Savannah Simerly, Annabel Rosario, Danielle Peronto, Fred Ramos, Nick Perez, Britt Nicole, Richard Bianco, Polly Pocket, & Jonathan Shane Ferrell (munchkins)
original songs / performers: [0:20] "Let's Get It Started" by the Black Eyed Peas; [1:46] "Don't Phunk with My Heart" by the Black Eyed Peas; [2:10] "Don't Lie" by the Black Eyed Peas; [2:40] "I Gotta Feeling" by the Black Eyed Peas; [3:10] "Boom Boom Pow" by the Black Eyed Peas; [3:28] "Scream and Shout" by will.i.am, featuring Britney Spears; [3:54] "The Time (I've Had the Time of My Life)" by the Black Eyed Peas
written by: all songs by William "will.i.am" Adams in collaboration — "Let's Get It Started" with Allan "apl.de.ap" Pineda, Jaime "Taboo" Gomez, Terence Yoshiaki, Michael Fratantuno, & George Pajon, Jr.; "Don't Phunk with My Heart" with Stacy "Fergie" Ferguson, Priese "Printz" Board, George Pajon, Jr., Full Force, Kalyanji–Anandji, & Shyamalal Babu "Indeevar" Rai; "Don't Lie" with Stacy "Fergie" Ferguson, Jaime "Taboo" Gomez, Allan "apl.de.ap" Pineda, Chris Peters, Drew Peters, & Richard "Slick Rick" Walters; "I Gotta Feeling" with Allan "apl.de.ap" Pineda, Jaime "Taboo" Gomez, & Stacy "Fergie" Ferguson, David Guetta, & Frédéric Riesterer; "Boom Boom Pow" with Allan "apl.de.ap" Pineda, Jaime "Taboo" Gomez, & Stacy "Fergie" Ferguson; "Scream and Shout" with Jean Baptiste Kouame, Tula "Tulisa" Contostavlos, & Jef Martens; "The Time (I've Had the Time of My Life)" by John DeNicola, Donald Markowitz, & Franke Previte
arranged by: Tony Wakim & Layne Stein
release date: 5 December 2016
My favorite bits:
the munchkins' various entertaining entrances
Eli recreating the Lollipop Guild's expressions and herky-jerky dance moves
the Scarecrow saying ♫ "lose control of body and soul" ♫ as he's gangling about
the "Ding Dong" instrumental melody playing underneath Dorothy and the Scarecrow's exit
and "If I Only Had…" under the Tin Man's introduction
including the iconic "Lions and tigers and bears, oh my!" as a counterpoint to "Don't Phunk With My Heart"
Earl's fantastic lion growl and melodramatic wailing (and poor little Fletcher getting confused by it)
the lovely harmonized ♫ "no no no no" ♫ section in "Don't Lie"
the bombast of "Boom Boom Pow" being delivered by the illusory visage of Oz the Great and Powerful
Kathy's pitch-perfect Margaret Hamilton witch cackle
the layered melodies in the coda section
all those incredible costumes (Tony was busy!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Trivia:
According to PattyCake's Instagram teasers, it took 68 yards of fabric to make Glinda's voluminous gown, 2500 hand-stiched sequins to cover each pair of ruby slippers, and 57 pounds of actual tin to make the Tin Man's armor.
The Lullabye League is portrayed by Layne's step-daughters.
Jonathan Shane Ferrell isn't just one of the munchins. He's also one of the artists from Makeup & Creative Arts who provided the incredible character prosthetics.
PattyCake released their first public blooper reel for this project, and it is very fun.
youtube
The team at Makeup & Creative Arts released a time lapse prosthetics demo video for their Oz collection a couple years later with Dan Varnum donning the Lion's mane, Kathy Castellucci reprising her Wicked Witch role, Geoff Castellucci going gray silver as the Tin Man, & Paul Kaleka getting stuffed into the Scarecrow's burlap.
youtube
Rachel slipped back into Dorothy's gingham dress the following year to play Judy Garland in PattyCake's "La La Land" video.
Tony had performed "Let's Get It Started" many, many times during his decade as Dracula in the "Beetlejuice Graveyard Revue" at Universal Studios.
"Let's Get It Started" was also part of the opening medley for VoicePlay's second episode of The Sing-Off, though not the section the guys were featured in.
Layne had previously created a remix of "I Gotta Feeling" back in 2010 through his studio, Rayne's Room.

“My best years are behind me.” Erik Johnson knows what he is at this point of his career. But the Flyers will need him -- and fellow veteran Marc Staal -- if they are going to get into the playoffs.
Tumblr media
NOT ENOUGH CRYING EMOJIS FOR THIS ARTICLE
TAMPA, Fla. — If nothing else, Erik Johnson is self-aware. The newly acquired Philadelphia Flyers defenseman, after morning skate at Amalie Arena on Saturday, admitted he hasnt had the greatest season as part of a disappointing Buffalo Sabres squad. And, even though his getting dealt offers him a fresh start with a new club, the 35-year-old is not suddenly going to turn the clock back a decade.
“It was really tough being 13 years in Colorado and then coming to a new team. I don’t think I really played my best hockey,” said Johnson, who signed a one-year contract with the Sabres in the offseason after spending the majority of his career with the Avalanche.
“My best years are behind me.”
The Flyers know that too, of course. Their acquisition of Johnson on Friday just before the NHL trade deadline, though, serves two purposes: It provides immediate help for what is both an inexperienced and banged-up blue line, and potentially enhances the team culture that both coach John Tortorella and general manager Danny Briere have labeled as the foundation of their rebuild.
His first game was one to forget, as the Flyers were run out of the building 7-0 by the Tampa Bay Lightning in a game that will primarily be remembered for Tortorella’s ejection midway through the first period and his refusal to leave the bench right away.
And the game was abnormal even before it started. The Flyers were forced to dress just five defensemen after Egor Zamula came down with an illness and Adam Ginning, reassigned to the AHL on Friday, was unable to make it back from the Philadelphia area in time due to weather-related flight delays, according to a team source.
In other words, it’s probably not all that advisable to form any broad conclusions from that game about how Johnson will or won’t contribute down the stretch. He was on the ice for Nick Paul’s power-play goal that made it 2-0 and maybe could have been harder around the net. He was also a bit flat-footed on Conor Sheary’s wrist shot from the high slot that made it 3-0, but Flyers goalie Samuel Ersson could have been better on both of those two scores, as well. He finished with a minus-1 rating in 19:57 of ice time, with two shots on goal and six hits.
And it’s not like anyone else on the Flyers was all that effective on Saturday either, as they got behind 4-0 midway through the first period.
“We’re usually a pretty decisive team,” assistant coach Brad Shaw, filling in for Tortorella, said after the game. “We’re usually setting the tone and playing a specific game and I thought we let them get to their game really quickly. …  Just never seemed to get our footing.”
The Flyers are fortunate in that they’ll have a chance to quickly put the brutal loss behind them when they host the league’s second-worst team, the San Jose Sharks, on Tuesday. One of the primary reasons they have managed to stay in the playoff race this season is because of their ability to quickly respond to poor efforts.
Still, they’re a bit of a different team now that they’ve lost Sean Walker, with his ability to help break the puck out of their own end and play that fast transition game that’s led to so much of the Flyers’ offense.
Johnson isn’t that type of player, and neither is another veteran who’s being relied on to play big minutes — Marc Staal, who skated in just 17 of the Flyers’ first 51 games and has now been thrust back into nightly duty with Jamie Drysdale, Rasmus Ristolainen and Nick Seeler still all on the shelf.
The Flyers seemed to realize they need to play differently in at least one of their two games after the Walker deal: They put forth an impressive, buttoned-up defensive performance in their 2-1 win in Florida on Thursday with rookies Ginning and Ronnie Attard making their respective season debuts on the blue line.
Part of the reason why they held the high-powered Panthers offense to just one goal was, according to Staal, everyone on the ice playing together as a five-man unit.
“Realizing the position we were in with some new guys coming in. I think our forwards — they always do a great job of being pretty aware defensively and playing as five,” Staal said. “We really focused on that before the game. … Just good structurally to get that one.”
Staal’s ice time has been steadily rising. He skated a season-high 19:10 on Saturday. And although he’s certainly not the fleetest of foot anymore at age 37, he has a positive expected goals percentage of 54.2 according to Natural Stat Trick, and at five-on-five has been on the ice for an even 12 goals for and 12 against.
Getting into a rhythm after being a frequent healthy scratch has helped.
“For sure. It’s definitely tough not playing when you’re used to being in the lineup every night your whole career so that was an adjustment,” he said. “Stayed positive and kept working and obviously getting an opportunity now and we’re playing really important games and it’s exciting for me to be back in and try to help this team win. … I’m starting to feel better on the ice, getting my legs and timing back more where I’m used to.”
When he signed a one-year deal in the offseason, the prevailing notion at the time was that Staal would be a prime candidate to get moved for, say, a mid-round draft pick ahead of the trade deadline. But Staal said on Saturday that it was always his intention to stay with the Flyers for the season, and now part of what has become a close group, he’s thrilled to be sticking around for the playoff chase.
“Been around these guys since September, I’ve definitely grown to enjoy this room and these guys and what we’re doing here,” Staal said. “Leaving really wasn’t a thought I had. You’ve just got to get in, you know? Get in the playoffs and see what happens. You never know.”
Staal knows that well as part of last season’s eighth-seeded Panthers who advanced to the Stanley Cup Final before losing to the Vegas Golden Knights.
The Flyers have to get there first, though. And in order to do that, both Johnson and Staal are going to have to play a role.
“You check your ego at the door, it’s about winning and it’s about building the culture and continuing to go on a big playoff push here,” Johnson said. “What I just told them was I’m here for whatever you need from me, here to be a good teammate, and do whatever I can for the guys.”

my musical taste is literally Julie and the Phantoms.
Let me explain.
I could put my playlist on and the first song that comes up is a pop song, usually from a Nordic female artist, like Grammofon by Myra Granberg, and I close my eyes and see Julie and The Phantoms rocking it out at a club.
Next, we have a song from a musical like Can I Have This Dance by high school musical 3, and I picture Luke being jealous of Nick, Julie noticing and dancing with him.
Then we have Party like It's 1929 by Tape five, the title kinda describes itself but it's Caleb throwing a big party.
Then we have LIFES A BIT by NOAHFINCCE and that's Sunset Curve 100%
Ladrona by Club 57 is Carrie having a fight with Julie flashmob style. I like that song soon much.
Some I don't want it at all by Kim Petras to round it all off and that's basically my playlist!

A-T-3 014 Graffiti Rock
Following on from the Beat Bop post yesterday here's a list of personal favourites when it comes to graffiti on records sleeves (it's mostly the classics)
[1981] Tom Tom Club - Genius Of Love James Rizzi did all the sleeve artwork for Tom Tom Club's breakthrough 1981 set and its follow-up in 1983 (A-T-3 002). Not strictly thought of as a graffiti artist he exhibited his work outside though
[1981] Trouble Funk - Pump Me Up single picture sleeve
[1982] Futura 2000 - The Adventures Of Futura 2000 Just one of a series of five records released by Celluloid that fit together to show a complete Futura 2000 artwork. The records were used to publicise the New York City Rap Tour in Europe. The tour featured Rammellzee of Beat Bop fame. More info here A-T-2 388
[1983] Malcolm McLaren - Duck Rock
Tumblr media
Duck Rock insert by Keith Haring
Duck Rock was Malcolm McLaren's first album under his own name thanks to the musicians that would become The Art Of Noise. Nick Egan produces the sleeve and employs Graffiti legend Dondi to create the lettering for Duck Rock and Keith Haring for the illustration. Egan talks about the project here. When talking about customising I'm surprised he didn't mention mods and their mopeds, I suppose that was The Jam's territory https://albumcoverhalloffame.wordpress.com/2013/08/16/interview-with-nick-egan-the-making-of-the-album-cover-for-duck-rock/
Dondi and Haring's work gets used throughout the releases from this set, including print ads and videos. The 12" cover for the single Duck For The Oyster would be even better if McLaren's face wasn't on it. Overpriced and overrated streetwear brand Supreme saw this too and went to town sticking the Duck For The Oyster artwork on their overpriced and overrated streetwear
Here's the long version of Hobo Scratch, check the bit A Tribe Called Quest ref in Award Tour. I write about Buffalo Gals here A-T-2 102 and share She's Looking Like A Hobo because I really like this track!
Malcolm McLaren - Hobo Scratch (She's Looking Like A Hobo)
youtube
[1983] N.Y.C. Peech Boys - Life Is Something Special Keith Haring does the sleeve artwork for Peech Boys album, this artwork is now reproduced on all sorts with no reference to the album. Unlike the McLaren album above Haring and Larry Levan were friends, in 1984 Keith Haring would have his birthday party at Paradise Garage where Madonna performed for him
Don't Make Me Wait and Life Is Something Special are released as singles in 1982, the later gets put on the Pumping Iron II: The Women soundtrack. Here's the dub of On A Journey released in 1983
N.Y.C. Peech Boys - On A Journey (Dubmix)
youtube
[1983] Wild Style OST with the piece by Zephyr, Revolt, and Sharp on the cover. The film follows graffiti artist Zoro played by LEE. The film is a slice of history, it's clunky but it was how many of us were introduced to hip hop Here's an interview with Zephyr about the animated title sequence https://www.artofthetitle.com/title/wild-style/
...and this is Cold Crush Crew and Fantastic Freaks from the soundtrack
youtube
[1984] Digette - Fred From Jupiter The sleeve features artwork by Kenny Scharf. This is an odd one just look at the people involved and the thank yous, it's like a kitchy Club 57 cabaret record. Most importantly though the record is dedicated to the memory of Michael Stewart who was a graffiti artist murdered by the police in 1983 https://www.insideedition.com/the-case-of-michael-stewart-the-new-york-artist-some-say-was-sentenced-to-death-for-drawing-on
[1984] Jellybean - Wotupski!?! one of the best graffiti record covers ever produced which is no surprise as it's by Duster and SEEN. There's a lexicon of graffiti terminology on the inner sleeve. Here's the SEEN and Duster bit from the landmark 1983 documentary Style Wars. SEEN's had heart surgery this time last year, hopefully his health is much better now
youtube
[1984] Rock Steady Crew - Uprock Doze from the Rock Steady Crew did the graf on all their sleeves, they are all good but Uprock is a masterpiece (unlike the album by produced by Stephen Hague)
[1984] Subway Art - by Martha Cooper, Henry Chalfant The bible. Martha Cooper's Spray Nation came out last last year
[1985] Mantronix - Needle To The Groove artwork by Gnome & Gemini
[1985] Sleeping Bag Records - Greatest Mixers Collection by Konk (the painter not the band)
[1985] Schoolly-D - Schoolly-D - Schoolly-D
[1985] MC ADE - Bass Rock Express this is just his logo on the labels but the I want to make a point in saying graffiti and Miami bass/booty bass was linked from the get go, it would catch my eye in shops (it was the graf not the booty)
[1986] Just Ice - Back To The Old School Gnome & Gemini's other classic sleeve
[1986] B-52s - Girl From Ipanema Goes To Greenland Crazy dub on this record. Kenny Scharf sleeve artwork, the sleeve artwork to the album Bouncing Off The Satellites is also one of his
[1987] Street Sounds Hip Hop 17 (to 20, and 22) massively influential sleeves on the UK graffiti scene. The first records in the series to include Miami Bass and the first with a graffiti sleeve by Artful Dodger of The Trailblazers who went on to become The Chrome Angelz
[1987] Bomb The Bass - Beat Dis Who watches the watchmen? also by Artful Dodger, he also did the sleeve for Three Wize Men's 1988 Rhythm King album G.B. Boyz
[1987] Spraycan Art - Hendy Chalfant and James Prigoff The New Testament, Chrome Angelz on the cover
[1989] Unique 3 - The Theme the design is by System. In the UK graffiti also begins to appear on the labels of underground records like Blapps and rave flyers like Sunrise, Dec 89 and Weekend World
[1992] The Pharcyde - Bizarre Ride II The Pharcyde sleeve artwork and pissing hydrant by OG Slick
[1993] Alte Schule German compilation with sleeve/label art by Mode 2 of Chrome Angelz
Graffiti Rock was a pilot show made for American television in 1984

John and John II Daly shoot 15-under 57 | Round 2 | PNC Championship | 2021
Dec 19, 2021
In the final round of the 2021 PNC Championship, Team Daly fired a 15-under 57 to claim a two-shot victory at 27-under par overall.
This week’s PNC Championship will see Tiger Woods return to action for the first time since the PNC Championship last year. The unique event, previously called the Father/Son Challenge, will see a host of PGA TOUR and Champions Tour players compete alongside their children and parents over 36 holes, in a bid to win the Willie Park trophy. Last year’s victors, Justin and father Mike Thomas return to the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club in Orlando, Florida, hoping to become the first back-to-back winners since Larry and Drew Nelson in 2008. After finishing seventh in last year’s event Tiger Woods and his son Charlie, now 12 years old, will be looking to once again challenge for the title. Other duos to look out for this weekend include Jim Furyk and son Tanner, Nick Faldo and son Matthew and Olympic Gold medalist and 2021 Women’s PGA Championship winner, Nelly Korda alongside her father Petr. In order to be eligible, participants must have either won a major championship or THE PLAYERS Championship. The competition adopts a scramble format, in which each player in the pairing tees off, with both participants then playing each subsequent shot from within a club length of where the best shot of the two lands.

Starck opening — invite [with Stevie Nicks...]
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Some kind of mischief
The Starck Club: Memories of ecstasy, lifelong friendships and what went down in those famously large bathrooms
The Starck Club was a Studio 54 for a city still shaking off its reputation as the home of J.R. Ewing.
A warehouse in the West End designed by French architect Philippe Starck, the place came to define the decadent mid-’80s before AIDS struck and ecstasy became illegal.
In anticipation of the sold-out Starck Club 40th Anniversary Reunion today at the Kessler, we spoke to two people who were there, captured in this photo from 1987.
George Baum, 21 (now 58)
I was one of the few straight guys who worked the door.
I was dating a server there, but every night I was covered in lipstick.
I’d get pocketfuls of paper with people’s names on it.
I’d gone to a boys school in New England, and I’d met girls working in record stores, but nothing like this.
It was the greatest thing that ever happened to me.
We had a downstairs room that opened up on Sundays when the club was slower, and people entered through steps on the outside.
The stairwell was covered, but the steps led to open air, so those drips on the wall are probably rain.
There were drugs in the club, and probably every club in the ’80s, but it wasn’t a free-for-all.
People would pour cocaine on a table, and they’d get kicked out.
But there were bathrooms with these massive stalls.
You could have a party in there.
Did people have sex in the bathrooms?
I mean, it was a very stimulating place, and we were all young and didn’t have any worries.
Sex was at the top of everyone’s mind.
I remember Cheryl.
She was part of a regular group I liked a lot.
I think this picture is a friendly greeting.
She’s clearly telling me something, but I have no idea what.
I heard all kinds of things.
I worked at Starck until it closed in 1989.
It wasn’t making the money it had, and it was replaced by a terrible nightclub called DV8.
I worked for them, but you had to ask to go to the bathroom.
We had these comp cards to give to women, and they’d grade women on a scale of 1-10 and pay you based on that, which was disgusting even then.
Luckily, they shut down soon after they opened.
Starck was just an exceptional club: the philosophy, the people, the music, the creativity of the people. I’ve never seen anything like it since.
Cheryl Sharp, 20 (now 57)
I remember George being sweet and sort of shy, and I always gave him a hug.
I’m probably telling him some big secret in this picture.
My hair looks like a crimped curling iron nightmare.
It probably cost more than my rent.
That’s not my natural color, I can tell you that.
My roommate Truett Pool and his mother had dressed me that night in a little tankini from Contempo Casuals with bike shorts and stockings.
I was like, OK!
It was a Sunday fun day.
Truett was the first person I met from Starck.
He was on the dance floor with his mom, a hot little number in all leather, just adorable.
He introduced me to some of his friends, and I’m still close with those people to this day.
My college in Arkansas had been very preppy, very sorority-oriented.
I moved to Dallas that year because the economy was better but also because of Starck.
From day one, it felt like a place I belonged.
My mom used to say it was a cult, because every time I came home, I was wearing a Starck Club shirt, but it wasn’t.
Although I did leave one Christmas Eve and drive six hours to go to the afterparty.
I think ecstasy should be in the water.
Wasn’t it originally for couples’ therapy?
It changed my life.
It made me more open, happy and accepting, and I think that’s where our deep friendships came from.
By 1987, I didn’t see anyone selling drugs at the bar, but I did tip the bartender Mike $20 for water so I could be on his guest list.
It was a wild time, yes, but an inclusive, fun time.

PRE-VIS: Pre-Production Song Timeline

“È ARRIVATO IL MOMENTO DI DIRE A NICOLA PIETRANGELI CHE HA ROTTO I COGLIONI” – LA VERSIONE DI ADRIANO PANATTA DOPO L’INTERVISTA A CAZZULLO SUL "CORSERA" DELL’EX CAPITANO PIETRANGELI – “NON L’HO MAI TRADITO. LE CRITICHE ALLA DOCU-SERIE "UNA SQUADRA"? LUI SVILISCE TUTTO E TUTTI. PORTA RANCORE E HA UN EGO SPROPOSITATO. E' UNO CHE DISSE A GIANNI RIVERA: SEI FORTUNATO CHE NON HO SCELTO DI GIOCARE A PALLONE..." - PIETRANGELI DICE CHE NON L’HA INVITATO ALLA FESTA PER I 70 ANNI: “MA NON C’ERA NEANCHE BERTOLUCCI. NON POSSO STARE DIETRO ALLE PATURNIE DI NICOLA...” -
Poi l’ho ritrovato in Davis come capitano».
Dice che si sente tradito.
«Aridagli.
Tutto finisce e passa. Ed è giusto che sia così».

2023 Simpson Cup
Tumblr media
U.S. Team Finalized for On Course Foundation’s 2023 Simpson Cup at Royal Lytham & St. Annes The U.S. team of wounded veterans to compete in On Course Foundation’s 2023 Simpson Cup, September 24-27 at Royal Lytham & St. Annes Golf Club in England is finalized. The 13 qualifying U.S. players are here, ranging in age from 29 to 58 across eight states coast to coast and include four rookies, five amputees and handicaps from .7 to 18.  Marty Caraway, a former Marine, is team captain for the second consecutive Simpson Cup.  Service members of the Army, Navy, Air Force and Marines are represented. The four-day event features two days of Ryder Cup-style matches between 13 golfers per team.  The first day’s battle is better-ball match play with six points at stake and the second showcases 13 singles, straight match play with 13 points at stake.  The first team to reach 10 points wins the Simpson Cup.  The competition is flanked by emotional opening and closing ceremonies a la the Ryder Cup and Olympics. “We’re coming for this cup and have the dynamics, personalities and work ethic that meld well,” says Caraway.  “That said, while winning the Simpson Cup is fun, it’s superseded by On Course Foundation helping wounded veterans gain incredible purpose, experiences, mental and physical wellness, friendships, golf jobs and memories.” Entering this year’s 11th Simpson Cup, the U.S. won five matches and the U.K. five.  Host site Royal Lytham & St. Annes has produced 11 Open Championships and five Women’s British Opens.  Past Simpson Cup venues include TPC Sawgrass, Congressional, Royal St. George’s, Oak Hill, Royal Birkdale, Maidstone, St. Andrews, The Creek and Baltusrol. Team members’ hidden and physical wounds sustained from the heat of battle include PTSD, brain tumors, amputations, emphysema, traumatic brain injuries, joint raptures, spinal issues and broken backs, hips, ribs, collarbones, femurs and sternums. Some U.S. team player highlights: - Chad Pfeifer, 42, is an army veteran who persevered to overcome the loss of his left leg above the knee to become a scratch golfer.  He finished third in the 2022 U.S. Adaptive Open and first among competitors with physical impairments. - Shauna Snyder, 57, is the team’s only female and 2023 marks the third time she qualified for a Simpson Cup.  She overcame complex back, neck, shoulder and hip injuries from decades in the U.S. Army Medical Department. - Nick Kimmel, 34, is among the miraculous Simpson Cup stories.  An IED explosion in Afghanistan left him without both legs above knee and his left arm above the elbow.  A golfer as a youth, the triple-amputee was “tortured” about the notion of never playing again. “The desire wasn’t there, and the primary thought was that missing limbs would cause me to sit on the sidelines forever,” says Kimmel.  “Then I learned about On Course Foundation and since joining, members prompted me not to feel sorry for myself, overcome the physical and psychological pain by thinking positively, and get back into the swing of things. The Simpson Cup is named after On Course Foundation founder John Simpson, the longtime business manager for Nick Faldo, Vijay Singh, Bernard Langer, Nick Price and other Tour players.  As a child, he was stricken with polio that to this day renders his left leg nonfunctional.  Simpson’s disability, and his speaking with injured veterans at Headley Court in the U.K. in 2010, led him to marry golf and goodwill, ultimately creating On Course Foundation. “It’s amazing to see those who sacrificed so much and still undergo severe PTSD and physical challenges, compete at such a high level,” says Simpson.  “This is pinnacle event on our program calendar and a major mechanism for On Course Foundation to raise awareness and funds.” Simpson Cup sponsors include Charles Schwab, Barclays, Topgolf Callaway Brands, The Sinclair Charity and the Summit Golf Brands. On Course Foundation helps active and retired, injured Service members develop playing abilities while teaching career skills to work in the golf industry.  It then places them in jobs with the likes of Dormie Network, Golf Pride, Invited, Landscapes Unlimited, Marriott Golf, TaylorMade Golf, Topgolf Callaway Brands, TPC Network and Troon, as well as at golf courses, country clubs and resorts nationwide.  More than 2,200 wounded veterans have benefitted from On Course Foundation learning programs in the U.S. and Europe since 2010. All Black Nick Evans joins England for 2023 Six Nations Game
All Black Nick Evans is the latest to join the new England rugby coaching set-up, being drafted in as attack coach for the Six Nations Championship.
Harlequins have showed that Nick Evans, the former All Blacks out-1/2, will join Steve Borthwick’s England as an assistant coach ahead of next month’s begin to the 2023 Guinness Six Nations.
The New Zealander, presently an assistant train at Harlequins, will work along England’s new head coach Steve Borthwick, who’s been ringing the changes after being named as successor to Australian Eddie Jones.
The 42-12 months-old, who gained sixteen caps with New Zealand between 2004 and 2007, is presently the assault and backs coach at The Stoop and the Gallagher Premiership membership said on Friday afternoon that the Kiwi has moved into the Test training area on a short-time period basis.
A assertion read: “Harlequins can confirm that attack and backs train All Black Nick Evans will link up with the England team throughout their 2023 Six Nations marketing campaign on a quick-term agreement.
With England’s Six Nations bye weeks falling on weekends of Harlequins’ matches, Evans will return to membership obligation element-time in the course of the Six Nations marketing campaign ahead of the membership’s fits in opposition to Gloucester and Exeter within the Gallagher Premiership. Evans will go back to Harlequins complete-time following the conclusion of the 2023 Six Nations.
All Black Nick Evans named England’s attack for Six Nations
England have appointed Nick Evans as their attack coach as Steve Borthwick finalises his backroom team for the upcoming Six Nations championship.
Evans, the Harlequins assistant coach and former All Black fly-half, will fill a role that has been undertaken since August 2021 by Martin Gleeson.
A participant for Quins from 2008 till 2017 while he moved into training, Evans has helped shape one of the best assaults within the Gallagher Premiership and has also been responsible for mentoring Marcus Smith, the England fly-half.
There turned into no immediate indication what Evans’s appointment would suggest for Gleeson’s role on the RFU.
Harlequins have revealed that Evans will resume club obligations at some stage in the Six Nations’ two fallow weeks and could return to Twickenham Stoop full-time as soon as the tournament is finished.
“I’m extremely joyful that Nick is becoming a member of our group ahead of the Six Nations,” Borthwick, the new England head educate, said in a declaration.
“Nick brings with him a wealth of various reviews as a participant and train, so that it will be exceedingly treasured to the increase of our team. I recognize that Nick is aware the pleasure and duty that incorporates representing your united states.

The Super Rugby will begin a new Pacific competition in 2023, which includes teams from New Zealand, Australia and Pacific Island nations. There will no longer be any Argentine, Japanese, and South African teams in the updated format. This new tournament style comes after the COVID-affected Super Rugby AU 2020 and the Super Rugby Trans-Tasman series in
“We aim to construct an England crew that our nation can be proud of and I realize that our supporters might be very excited with the aid of what Nick can bring to our facet. We’d especially like to thank Harlequins for their assist in permitting Nick to work with us at some point of this period. It’s a amazing instance of membership and us of a running collectively.”
There was no mention in the RFU statement about the situation of Martin Gleeson, who had been the England attack coach under Eddie Jones in recent years. The recruitment of Evans, which will be positive news for Marcus Smith, the England out-half whom he works with at club level, is the latest development in the new Borthwick era which began with his appointment of Kevin Sinfield as defence coach.
This was followed by last Monday’s confirmation that scrum coach Matt Proudfoot had stepped down after three years, sparking speculation that Saracens’ Ian Peel could come in to work alongside forwards coach Richard Cockerill. The RFU also confirmed at the start of the week that Brett Hodgson and Danny Kerry had left the England coaching team.
