It's Friday! Chapter 16 of Mystic Dream, Act 3 Scene 2: And Dancing - Tuesday 15 January 2019 19:31 is up.

Here's a teaser:

Bishop watched Duke, the lead guitarist change his electric guitar for an acoustic. As the applause died down and all the dancers in the center of the hall turned back to the stage, he began playing a series of mournful notes. Bishop’s attention snapped to the Potters when Ginny stepped closer to Harry, resting her head on his chest.

‘A tango,’ gasped Patil, and Bishop nodded.

‘Sorry, we aren’t going to try that. I can’t tango for the life of me,’ she replied, keeping Patil in her arms and beginning a slow dance anyway, staying close to the Potters but continuing to turn her partner around to watch the crowd. A few other couples also began to tango. Most simply swayed in time to the music’s beat. 

‘Now they’re making love in public,’ Torres’ voice cracked in their ears after the Potters paused for their leg flicks, Ginny’s left leg flashing out through the slit in her gown. ‘Damn, she’s got legs!’

Bishop caught a glimpse of Gibbs, frowning on the sideline, nodding quickly at Harry, and Harry’s nod in reply.

‘Torres, eyes on the crowd. This will be their last dance before a break.’ Gibbs' voice in her ear made her resume scanning the crowd.

X-Men 2 fans: First Look at Nightcrawler and Stryker as brothers in Glenrothan

Brian Cox‘s feature directorial debut “Glenrothan” — billed as his “love letter to Scotland” — has wrapped production, with a first look revealed showing the “Succession” star alongside Alan Cumming in a room full of whisky barrels.

Alongside revealing a first look from the feature, Protagonist Pictures has come aboard for worldwide sales and is set to screen exclusive footage for buyers at the upcoming American Film Market.

Lionsgate, which co-developed the project with London based studio Nevision, has taken U.K. rights on the family drama, which shot in Scotland.

In “Glenrothan,” Donal (Cumming) reluctantly returns to the Scottish Highlands after 35 years in Chicago to make amends with his estranged older brother, Sandy (Cox). Sandy needs Donal to take over the family’s whisky distillery or he will be forced to sell and give up on the family’s legacy. But their reunion forces the brothers to confront the past and the real reason Donal left Glenrothan. Shirley Henderson (“Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire,” “See How They Run”) and Alexandra Shipp (“Barbie,” “Anyone But You”) also star in the film.

“Glenrothan” is produced by Cox, Neil Zeiger, Crystine Zhang (“Prisoner’s Daughter,” “Lee”), Phin Glynn (“Argentina 1985,” “Kill The Jockey”), Nic Crum (“Book of Love”), James Cabourne and Vladimir Zemtsov (“Club Zero”). The film is co-produced by Nevision and Blazing Griffin Pictures in association with Screen Scotland, Oval-5, Gold Rush Pictures, Head Gear, Infinity Hill and Lionsgate.

“’Glenrothan’ is a poignant, funny and powerful story about the universal themes of family and heritage, set against the stunning backdrops of Scotland and steeped in the world of whisky,” said Protagonist CEO Dave Bishop. “Brian is an undeniable talent, both behind and in front of the camera, and is joined by the exceptional Alan Cumming — as such we are delighted to introduce buyers to this special film when we debut exclusive footage at the upcoming AFM.”

Protagonist’s current slate includes the Venice, TIFF and San Sebastian selection “Kill the Jockey,” directed by Luis Ortega and recently selected as Argentina’s feature film contender for the 2025 Academy Awards; Samir Oliveros’ TIFF title, “The Luckiest Man in America,” starring Emmy and Golden Globe winner Paul Walter Hauser; the genre-bending comedy “Sister Midnight,” which recently screened at the London Film Festival and was nominated for Cannes’ Camera D’Or; and from directors Guy Maddin, Evan Johnson, and Galen Johnson, the political horror-comedy “Rumours,” which debuted at Cannes before going on to screen at Toronto, San Sebastian, New York and London Film Festivals.

Je už pozdě večer, když se vracíme z kina do hostelu. Film se pořádně protáhl, málokterý má téměř 3 hodiny. Oppenheimer je ale přesně takový. Asi jsme si nemohli vybrat lépe (ne, že bychom v tomhle malém městě s jedním kinovým sálem měli na výběr).

Celý film se točí ohledně Ameriky, jejich tajného výzkumného programu a udělování bezpečnostních prohlídek. Ze všech je cítit ta typická americká hrdost a i v kině to bylo občas znát. Chlápek za námi často souhlasně přizvukoval a smál se ani ne tak vtipům jako “urážkám” na ostatní země.

Celkově ale zajímavý kulturní zážitek, který hodně zpestřuje Cillian Murphy. Mám toho herce rád už od Scarecrowa z Batmana a pak víc ještě po Peaky Blinders. Je to profík.

Jinak co říct k dnešku? Klasický městský den plný starostí a pobíhání po různých koutech. Zašil jsem znovu a znovu roztrhanou košili a batoh. Šortky jsem měl šít taky, ale nakonec jsem v gear exchange obchodě sehnal nové! Takže tyhle půjdou do hikerboxu. Ale loučí se mi s nimi těžko po takové době.

Co se týče hostelu a města, asi bych tu dokázal zůstat i klidně týden. Pokud se člověk smíří s tím, že se tady na dvorku hulí tráva (hlavně majitelé), tak je to celkem příjemné místo k odpočinku. Nic tu vlastně nechybí. I Bishop jako takový je fajn. Malé klasické americké domky, které nemají patro a vévodí jim dřevo.

Jen to počasí je tady jak ve skleníku. Těžko uvěřit, že nahoře je krásných 15 stupňů a často prší, když tady dole je 35 a neuvěřitelné dusno. Nedokážu si představit, že bych chodil v tomhle. Teď už ten déšť nezní zas tak hrozně. Zítra možná budu mluvit jinak, až mi zase bude padat voda za krk.

The TrustBusters (Sonny Kiss/Slim J/JeeVeS Kay/Trench) vs. Big Dan Champion/Joshua Bishop/Hyan/Kylie Paige - Slim J was hoisted up for the Bishop Bomb, but JeeVeS Kay grabbed on to Slim J's ankle and pulled him free from Bishop's grasp. Slim J and JeeVeS charged at Bishop but he back body dropped them both over the top rope and to the floor. Sonny Kiss ran at Joshua, but Sonny was soon lifted up for a Bishop Bomb and sent crashing into Slim J and JeeVeS on the outside. Trench applied the inverted full nelson on Big Dan Champion, but Champion broke the hold by driving Trench into the corner with an avalanche splash. Big Dan whipped Trench to the center of the ring where Hyan hit him with the Beauty Sleep and got the pinfall. Winners: Big Dan Champion/Joshua Bishop/Hyan/Kylie Paige

Match #2

Starboy Charlie and Marcus Mathers vs. The Southern 6 (Kerry Morton and Silas Mason) - Silas Mason went for the Thrillride on Starboy Charlie, but Charlie countered with a crucifix. Mason kicked out but ate a superkick from Marcus Mathers which sent Silas tumbling to the floor where Mathers took him out with a dive. Kerry Morton tried to throw a fireball at Starboy Charlie, but Charlie saw it coming and stomped on Kerry's foot. The delay caused the fireball to erupt in Morton's own hand. Starboy Charlie hit the Gotch piledriver on Kerry Morton and covered him for a three count. Winners: Starboy Charlie and Marcus Mathers

Match #3

Giant Baba Yaga and Fuego Del Sol vs. Black Generation International (Kaito Ishida and Flamita) - Fuego Del Sol tried for the tornado DDT on Flamita, but Flamita pushed Fuego off and right into a single arm tiger suplex from Kaito Ishida. Giant Baba Yaga went to break up the hold but Titus Alexander had made his way to ringside and he hooked Baba around the ankle. This distracted Baba long enough to allow Flamita to hold her at bay as Ishida got the pinfall. Winners: Black Generation International

Match #4

The 37KAMIINA (Yuki Ueno/MAO/Toy Kojima) vs. folkstyle (Shaw Mason/Tim Bosby/Nic Nemeth) - Tim Bosby went for the rip cord lariat on Yuki Ueno, but Yuki Ueno countered with the WR. Nic Nemeth broke up the pin and soon after tried for the Fameasser on MAO. MAO avoided the move and when Nemeth landed in a seated position on the mat he was met by a Meteora from Toy Kojima. MAO springboarded off the top rope with a Phoenix Splash and the 2023 Trios Kingdom winners were again victorious. Winners: The 37KAMIINA

Match #5

SHIMMER Tag Team Championship Tournament - Finals Stephanie Vaquer and La Catalina vs. Queen Aminata and Raychell Rose - Stephanie Vaquer tried for the package piledriver on Raychell Rose but Queen Aminata made the save with a jumping hip attack which propelled Rose forward into a rolling cradle on Vaquer who could not kick out in time. Winners and NEW SHIMMER Tag Team Champions: Queen Aminata and Raychell Rose

Match #6

Coal Miner's Glove Match Eddie Kingston vs. Titus Alexander - Eddie Kingston climbed to the top rope and retrieved the coal miner's glove off a pole. On his descent Titus Alexander connected with a dropkick to Kingston's back which sent him crashing out of the ring to the apron before falling to the floor. Black Generation International made their way to ringside but referee Scarlette Donovan intercepted them and threatened to stop the match. What Scarlette didn't see was on the other side of the ring where someone hopped the railing.

- Chris Hero, Kingston's long time rival, attacked Eddie on the outside. Hero connected with a big boot and removed the coal miner's glove from Eddie's hand. Hero put on the glove and went for a rolling elbow but Kingston ducked and hit an exploder suplex to Chris Hero on the floor. A dazed Kingston pulled himself into the ring where Titus quickly seized the advantage and hit the Chaos Theory on Kingston, but King kicked out at two. Chris Hero tossed the coal miner's glove to Titus Alexander who put it on. Titus went for the spinning backfist on Kingston with the glove, but Eddie ducked and countered with a backdrop driver. Kingston grabbed the coal miner's glove and put it on before drilling Titus with a Sliding D using the glove and Eddie made the cover. Winner: Eddie Kingston

Joshua Bishop (c) vs Nic Nemeth- MPW World Championship

The Wanted Man is back in MPW, and our MPW World Championship match is gonna have a shade of bleach blonde, as our bleach blonde World Champion Joshua Bishop goes against Nic Nemeth, a fellow Clevelander for the first time in their careers! MPW World Championship on the line! 

The two men began to circle one another, before locking up in a collar and elbow tie up. Bishop quickly got the advantage and pulled Nemeth into a headlock, which Nemeth quickly got out of by sending Bishop off the ropes. Bishop came back and knocked Nemeth down with a shoulder tackle, being the larger of the two men, one would assume he would have the power advantage in this one. Bishop waited for Nic Nemeth to get back up again, and ran off the ropes, looking for another shoulder block, but Nemeth dropped down, and Bishop hit the ropes again, this time on the rebound Nic tried to leapfrog Bishop, but Bishop stopped short before he could, before attempting to throw a clothesline, which Nemeth ducked, before Nemeth ran off the ropes, and caught and dropped Bishop with a shoulder block! We were all even here in the early going! 

Nemeth ran off the ropes again, and this time it’s Bishop who drops down, mirroring what Nemeth did before. Nemeth stepped over and on the rebound, just like how Nemeth had done, Bishop tried to leapfrog, but rather than stop short, Nic caught Bishop in midair, before driving him to the mat with a powerslam! Bishop got up clutching his back, and Nic hit the ropes again, before charging Bishop and sending him over the top rope and to the outside with a clothesline! Nemeth didn’t stop his momentum, hitting the ropes again all without stopping, and dove underneath the middle rope, taking Bishop out with a low suicide dive to the outside! Nic Nemeth launched himself like a missile and took Bishop right into the guardrail! Nemeth was quick to get back to his feet, and grabbed Bishop by the hair, pulling him back up as well, before leaning him against the steel guardrail. “You asked for this, kid.” Nemeth taunted, before blasting Bishop with a chop to the chest, putting so much force behind it that he nearly knocked Bishop back over the guardrail and into the laps of our fans! Nic Nemeth went to try and climb over the guardrail, but Wes Barkley comes up from behind and tries to grab Nic. Nic spins around and catches Wes with a couple of right hands, dropping Maserati Wes! 

Nic turned back to Bishop, but the momentary distraction cost him, as Bishop had recovered and blasted Nemeth with a chop to the chest of his own! Nic fired back with another chop, and Bishop answered back in earnest, and now we had these two men trading chops on the outside! The chop fest continued until Nemeth decided to break it up with a headbutt, sending Bishop stumbling backwards. Nic then grabbed Bishop and whipped him right into the steel guardrail again, Bishop’s spine connecting right with the solid steel bars! 

Nic walked over and gave Bishop another chop to the chest, before telling all of the fans sitting behind where Bishop was right now that they’re going to want to move. All of them made the smart choice and grabbed their shit, moving out of the way, before Nemeth began to back up, giving the ring apron a few rhythmic pounds to work the crowd up into a clap, before measuring Bishop….

Nic charged Bishop, looking for a big dropkick, trying to send Bishop over the rail with it, but Bishop managed to instead turn it into a backdrop, sending Nic Nemeth over the guardrail, and crashing and burning onto the chairs sitting at ringside! Nic may have just had his entire spinal column rearranged! Joshua Bishop gets back up, and drags Nic Nemeth back into the ring, before Bishop got back into the ring himself, and took a moment to stretch out and crack his neck before going after Nemeth again. However, when he tried to pick Nic back up, Nic suddenly came to life and slipped behind Bishop, before tossing Bishop overhead with a release German Suplex! Bishop folded over and rolled to the corner, where Wes hopped on the apron and helped Bishop get back to his feet. Nemeth charged Bishop again, but Bishop got the boot up and Nic ran right into it. Nic stumbled away, and Bishop grabbed Nic, before tossing Nic overhead with a release Belly to Belly suplex! The strength of the Intense Icon was unreal! Bishop hooks the leg!

1….2… Kickout!

Nic Nemeth out at two. Bishop tries to get Nemeth back to his feet, but Nic Nemeth answers by peppering Josh Bishop with a couple of chops to the chest. Bishop answers with a chop of his own, and Nic actually walks to the corner, and lets out a very visible “OW!” in response to that chop. Bishop catches Nic with an axe handle to the back, causing Nic’s knees to buckle, but Nic turns around and catches Bishop with a boot to the gut to get Bishop to back up. Nic grabs a handful of Bishop’s hair and slams it into the turnbuckle, causing Bishop to stumble back into the ropes. Nic tries to go after him, but Bishop catches Nic with a boot to the gut. He follows it up with an elbow to the back of the neck, dropping Nic to his knees! Bishop tries to pick Nic back up, but Nic responds with two stiff forearms, before Bishop tries to send Nic into the ropes, but on the rebound Nic manages to spin and drop Joshua Bishop with a Rolling Elbow, taking the champ down and knocking him out of the ring! Nic hits the ropes as Bishop gets back up, and takes Bishop out on the outside with a Suicide Dive! Nic Nemeth has the World Champion reeling! 

Nic grabs Bishop and rolls him back into the ring, before trying to pick the massive World Champion up for what looks like a Doctor Bomb, but Nic can’t even get Bishop up off his feet! Perhaps an ill-advised attempt as Nic grabs at his back, perhaps having strained something in his attempt at lifting Josh Bishop. Bishop grabs Nic around the waist, but Nic drops down and rolls Bishop forward into a surprise pin!

1….2… Kickout!

Bishop out at two! He almost just lost the World Championship again! The crafty veteran Nemeth pulling out all the stops tonight! Bishop gets up to a knee, only to be blasted by several forearm shots by Nic, before Nic mimes shooting a pistol at Bishop, before spinning for another Rolling Elbow, only to spin around and get BLASTED by a Pump Kick from Joshua Bishop! Nic might have just gotten knocked out!

Bishop falls into the ropes and takes a few seconds to compose himself here, as Nic still hasn’t moved. Bishop goes over to retrieve Nic, sNicping on him as he does. Bishop forces Nic into the corner, before nailing him with a back elbow, and then a stiff right, before Biel Throwing Nic all the way across the ring! The air time Nic got on that was astonishing! Nic tries using the ropes to help himself up, but Bishop comes over and uses his knee to choke Nic with the ropes. As Carr pulls Bishop off and reprimands him for this.  Bishop comes back over and catches Nic with a boot to the gut, and then a knee lift to the gut as well, sending Nic stumbling into an adjacent corner, just trying to get away from Josh Bishop’s onslaught. Bishop walks over and peppers Nic with a right hand, and then a chop to the chest, but Nic answers back with a forearm of his own! Bishop stumbles back but kicks Nic back into the corner, before nailing Nic with an elbow over the top of the neck, once again dropping Nic! Bishop signals to Wes to throw him a door, that he’s gonna “Put the old man down”, and Wes Barkley goes under the ring, looking for a door. He produces one, and Josh Bishop sets it up in the corner, before picking Nic up, looking for a Choke Toss Suplex, but as Bishop goes to lift Nic, Nic catches The Intense Icon right on the nose with an elbow shot! Nic quickly rolled through, and rolled Bishop up, but before referee Nic Dunn could drop down to register a count, Nic pushed Bishop through the pin, and quickly grabbed him, going for that powerbomb again! Bishop this time managed to counter with a backdrop, before grabbing Nic Nemeth in a fireman’s carry, charging the door and looking to put Nic through it with a Death Valley Driver, but Nic managed to slip off of Bishop’s shoulders! Bishop turned and tried to catch Nic with a clothesline, but Nic Nemeth ducked it, slipped behind Bishop, before tossing Bishop right through the door with a Release German Suplex! The door exploded in two as Bishop’s head and neck were driven right through the door! 

Nic Nemeth got back up to his feet and grabbed the other door, only to turn around and release that Bishop was already up on his feet! Bishop was already up after being suplexed through a door! Nic swung the door at Bishop and caught him in the head, causing Bishop to stumble back into the corner, and for there to be a hole the size of Bishop’s skull in the door. Nic propped the door against the opposite corner and turned around, only for Bishop to launch himself at Nic Nemeth and drive him through the door with a Spear! 

Both men struggled to get back to their feet, and Nic Nemeth had to resort to rolling out onto the apron. Bishop followed him out there, and the two men used the ropes to help themselves back to their feet. Bishop caught Nic Nemeth with a chop to the chest, before trying to lift him up for a Death Valley Driver, but Nic managed to escape it, catching Bishop with a chop of his own, before attempting to drop Bishop with a Piledriver on the apron, which Bishop managed to block. Bishop tried to lift Nic up into the Death Valley again, but once again Nic slipped off his shoulders, and back into the ring. Bishop turned around, only to be caught by a Superkick from Nemeth, knocking Bishop off the apron and right into the guardrail! Nic Nemeth hit the ropes, going for the low suicide dive again, but this time Bishop moved out of the way, and Nic crashed and burned into the guardrail! Nic might have gone into the steel head first! 

Bishop grabbed Nic and quickly tossed him back into the ring, looking to seize the opportunity! Bishop gets back up, and looks to put Nic away, trying to set up the Bishop Bomb, but Nic manages to wiggle off of Josh’s shoulders! Vstávám do hejna komárů. Nahodím nepromokavé oblečení, které je většinu času spíš neprokomáří a rychle vypadnu pryč. Ani zuby mi nedovolí si tu vyčistit, mrchy. Po chvilce začne pršet, takže se hodí, že už jsem na to připravený. To zase bude den…

Prší skoro celý den. Ne nijak moc, půl hodiny a pak pauza, a znovu a znovu. Když do toho ale přidám brodění studenými řekami, není to nic moc zážitek. Už se těším do města, kam dneska snad dojdeme.

Okolo 10. hodiny konečně vystoupám na Glen pass (3635 m.n.m.). Možná to bylo ovlivněné i tím deštěm, ale za mě jeden z nejtěžších průsmyků. Poslední část je hodně kamenitá a prudká, prostě Sierra.

Sbíhám dolů do údolí, zbývá mi ještě hodně mil, ráno jsem se coural. V ne tak velké dálce vidím blesky a za pár vteřin slyším i hrom. I to mě trochu popohání. Přede mnou jde Stir it up, nesnáší bouřky a při každém hromu mu cukne v rameni. Je mi ho až líto.

Uhneme z PCT a zdoláme Kearsarge pass (3569 m.n.m.). Zacházka je to asi 7,5 míle a 1000 metrů jedním směrem, ale jinak se odsud do města dostat nedá. Na rozcestí si stopneme auto a pak další směrem do města Bishop.

Ten druhý stop stojí za zmínku. Steve a Jolie jsou dva chlapi z Colorada, kteří se právě chystají na JMT, takže jim k tomu máme co říct. Konverzace utíká a plyne tak hladce, že 45 minut v autě uteče jako lusknutím prstu. Znovu mám pocit, jakože bychom si toho měli ještě spoustu co říct, ale tyhle zážitky a setkání jsou prostě pomíjivé a mají jasně ohraničený čas. Nedá se nic dělat.

Skočíme se ubytovat do hostelu, který všichni PCT hikeři vychvalují, Hostel California. Na zbytek dneska kašlem, zítra máme zero. Jdem na burger s pivko. Později v likér shopu nás zase vypečou kalifornské zákony. Nemám svoje ID a když se zmíním, že mi ten cider teda koupím kamarád, tak prodavač neprodá ani jednomu z nás nic. Musím skočit do hostelu pro pas. Tak to tady prostě chodí, alkohol jen s ID. Musi zadat do systému přesný datum narození, jinak jim to neprojde přes kasu.

Po asi 150 dnech spím dneska v posteli. Jsem čistý a nesmrdím. Nemusím stavět stan, nafukovat karimatku a roztahovat spacák. Nežerou mě komáři a můžu v klidu sedět venku na terase a pít cider z plechovky. Je to divný pocit.
