👑⛪👀🌑 for the WIP ask game, specifically asking about the Peter Pan retelling!!

👑 Yes, there are rulers! There are several factions on the island. The Fae are ruled by Niamh (yes, *that* Niamh, if you know, you know). The druids must have a leader, but I'm still working them in (currently, they have only really played a part in Rory's backstory). And of course Captain Grace is in charge of the pirates, and Conor is the leader of the lost children (there is at least one girl, so not lost boys, and I don't know if I will change the group name or not).

⛪️ - As I said, there are druids, but I don't know how much I will get into their religious beliefs. The Fae probably also do, but I don't really think any of the factions' beliefs will play any major role in the story.

👀 - Instead of a crocodile who swallowed a clock, I am borrowing a myth of a piper named O'Rourke who was swallowed by an Oilliphéist, and he just survives and continues playing because... magic. 😆

⚫️ - I'm not really sure. None that aren't to be expected yet. More will probably show up later as I progress further. The main themes of Peter Pan are obviously present, such as not wanting to grow up.

Niamh and this character grew up together and never quite got along. They were always arguing, always trying to one-up the other. Their dislike of each other grew as their parents talked of betrothing them but it never happened. It wasn’t until very recently that their parents went through with the betrothal and it has the two at each other’s throat.

What is your character’s gender?: Cis female

Are you filling a wanted connection? If so, which one?: NOPE

Please provide three headcanons about your character:

Niamh is actually extremely superstitious and interested in lore/legends. She believes that seeing a single magpie is dangerous, she’s warry of fairy trees and fairy forts, a red sky in the morning is dangerous for sailors, etc. These actually come up in her life rather regularly. Also, she loves Irish tales such as those about Cú Chulainn.

Niamh is extremely good at adjusting to any situation she finds herself in and with whatever group of people she’s chatting to. She’ll pretend to like certain things or think a certain way in order to navigate social situations and ensure that the majority of people like her. She’s been doing this for so long, though that she isn’t always sure what she likes and what she thinks as opposed to what she pretends to like and think. Sometimes she isn’t sure where Niamh ends and where Niamh begins.

Being one of seven isn’t particularly easy. She often finds herself fading into the background when surrounded by so many others. In many ways, Niamh just wishes there was something that helped her stand out. Being a part of a set of twins doesn’t help either. It’s never just Niamh it’s Niamh and Eamon, often without separation.

A Royal Best Friend: Outside of Eamon, this is the person Niamh feels closest to. Perhaps their country isn’t particularly close to Ireland but the two were always video chatting and making sure to stay updated in each other’s lives. When they’re together, it’s like no one else exists.

The Villager Guide: Niamh loves legends and supernatural tales and is extremely interested in local lore. She’s sort of….latched herself onto this villager in order to take her to the lake, through the woods, and the mountains. She also relies on them for local history.

What is one thing you are proud of/love about your country: “There are so many different things that I love about Ireland. I think maybe the people though? There is no denying that the Irish are some of the friendliest to all tourists. We just have a way of making anyone feel like family!”

Tiernan O’Rourke (Sr.) met Deidre Brady during a work gala. He was impressed by her and the credence of her family name. Deidre thought Tiernan was handsome, if a trifle cold. However, there was undeniably a spark between them and Tiernan capitalized upon this. Shortly after they would become engaged, and there was definitely some semblance of love between them as Tiernan was crushed when Deidre passed unexpectedly.
