You vs. We
i rewatched the first shadow yesterday and i think there’s a hentty/byler/mlvn parallel worth noting. (spoilers for TFS ahead⚠️)
when henry is taken by brenner for the first time and brenner asks him to make contact with the mind flayer, patty tries to reach out to him so he lets her into his mind in the void. when she sees him strapped down in the lab, she runs to his side, holds his hand and talks to him. it looks exactly like the way mike’s monologue is framed in s4. and that’s where the similarities end.
patty holds the unconscious henry’s hand, but in the void, she’s still looking at henry when she talks and henry’s looking back at her. she says something along the lines of “if you leave, we can run away and find my mother. we can fight the monster together, you and me.”
and this made me realise the glaring difference between how mike talks to el and how mike talks to will. the entirety of his monologue is “you can do this,” and “you can do that, el!” meanwhile at the end of s4, when will says “we have to kill him,” mike says “and we will. we will.”
(all the gifs used in this post are by @will80sbyers!)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
that’s not the only time mike uses “we” or “us” when he talks to will about a fight against the enemy. here are some more examples:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
and how he segues into talking about his first meeting with el vs. his first meeting with will:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
in his monologue to el, you is el, we is mike, dustin, and lucas.
mike sees el as the other. as someone he cannot imagine as his equal, and it reflects in the way he talks to her. this doesn’t surprise me considering it is exactly what he tells will in the van. but mike and will have had no issues seeing each other as equals. even after mike saw will possessed and powerful. and even though will considers mike the leader of the party, he doesn’t think mike is above him. they stand on equal grounds in their relationship.

Someone pointed out to me in one of my posts that the reason Perry was SO pissed off during OWCA files was bc he's jealous Heinz was spending time with so much of his co-workers, and Ive since been thinking about this and I genuinely hate how much this makes sense.
Obviously that isn't the ONLY reason, but. This is the second recorded time where Heinz ends up working for OWCA and BOTH times Perry spends the entire episode inexplicably grumpy and pissed.
You COULD say it's bc he's wary, he doesn't trust Heinz to behave professionally as an agent when he takes so much pride as an agent himself and incompetency pisses him off (true). Also that Heinz is lumped as his responsibility, and agent Lone Wolf hates being saddled to a person.....but these arguments crumble in light for a few facts.
1. Perry doesn't have THAT much respect for OWCA, and certainly not Francis, ESPECIALLY if they piss him off. See the aftermath of Undercover Carl. Its not a respect issue.
2. Perry knows what Heinz is like. He LIKES spending time with Heinz, and as early as the events in "Come Home Perry," HE knows that he can trust Heinz to always have his back. Its not a trust issue.
3. Perry is hugely supportive of Heinz reforming, and in MML, it's HIS money being the first and foremost funds provider for Heinz to start a time travelling agency. He likes Heinz turning tide fine, so long as he doesn't shut Perry out or leave him behind. It's not a Being Good issue.
So why was he pissed off?? Well. What's the ONE thing that upsets Perry, without fail, when it comes to his loved ones that isn't them being in undeniable danger.
Sharing. Perry hates sharing.

hello, I've sort of migrated here from Twitter. If you have the time I was wondering if the things I got from twitter/tiktok are correct.
In the books valyrian's are the only people in world who can bond with dragons?
In the books Targs are immune to heat/fire and sickness because their blood is magic?
Hightower's tower was made with dragon fire despite it predating Valyria?
There are other buildings around the world in asoiaf which also used dragon fire but also predate Valyria and their dragons?
Someone told me on tiktok that the OG asoiaf dragons went extinct and Valyrian magicians bred other magic creatures together until they got their version of dragons?
thank you for any help 🙏. I want to get around to reading the books but it's kinda daunting because there's so many of them and they're long and I'm a slow reader 😭
Hey, welcome to Tumblr! (Hope you survive the experience.) Sure, I can answer your questions (certainly better than tiktok and twitter lol sigh), but I do definitely recommend reading the books! Some people find it easier to go with audiobooks (I personally don't, since auditory processing isssues make me tune out in five seconds, same with podcasts, sigh), and that might be a big help for you? But anyway, answers below...
1. Yes... um... it's a question. It's stated that Valyrians are the only ones that can bond with dragons, and furthermore, only ones from the dragonriding families of Valyria. (This is part of the "Doctrine of Exceptionalism", which I'll describe later.) The "dragonseeds" who rode dragons during the Dance were supposedly bastards or descendants of bastards of Targaryens (I'll get to the details in a moment), and we have the example in the current books of Brown Ben Plumm, who Dany's dragons adore, and he is an extremely distant (by like 120 years) descendant of Elaena Targaryen and Aegon IV Targaryen.
However, the dragonseed and dragonrider Addam of Hull, per the histories a bastard of Laenor Velaryon (son of Rhaenys Targaryen), was almost certainly actually the bastard of Corlys Velaryon, and the Velaryons were not a dragonriding family. Though it's possible that one of the pre-Conquest Targaryen ladies married into House Velaryon, so it's not that exceptional. The greater problem is the dragonseed Nettles, of no known background, called out by the narrative as looking distinctly un-Valyrian (she's brown, and note the Velaryons are white in the books), who tamed her dragon by feeding it sheep until it started to like her. Many theorize that while Valyrian blood makes it easy to bond with dragons (due to likely blood magic/genetic bonding with dragons in ancient times, as they claim to be descended from dragons), it is still possible to create that bond the hard way, as the early Valyrians were once a mere tribe of shepherds who discovered dragons nesting in a local chain of volcanoes. The full answer is one of the greater mysteries of ASOIAF, and will hopefully be resolved in later books. (Along with whoever the riders of Dany's other two dragons will be.)
2. Per GRRM, Targaryens are not immune to fire, but they do have some heat resistance, and enjoy things like hot baths and hot weather. The only one actually immune to fire was Dany, and specifically only during the miracle of her dragons' birth. (During her taming of Drogon right before she rode him the first time, she received burns on her hands.) Many Targaryens have died or been injured by fire, including Viserys Targaryen (Dany's brother and his "golden crown"), Aerion Targaryen (he drank wildfire because he thought it would turn him into a dragon. It didn't), Rhaenys Targaryen the Queen Who Never Was, Daeron "the Daring" Targaryen, Aegon II Targaryen, and Rhaenyra Targaryen.
As for illness, the "Doctrine of Exceptionalism" was a religious precept that King Jaehaerys I worked out with the Faith of the Seven, to give the Targaryens an exception on the Faith's anti-incest stance. It stated that Targaryens were different, exceptional, special people, closer to gods than men, because of their unique silver-gold hair and purple eyes, because they alone rode dragons, and because they never got sick. "There was fire in the blood of the dragon, it was reasoned, a purifying fire that burned out all such plagues." However, only a few years after Jaehaerys made this agreement (and married his sister Alysanne), their 7-year-old daughter Daenerys died of the Shivers, a severe-flu-like epidemic. (This put great doubt in their heart, but did anyone do anything about it? lol no.) Their daughter Maegelle later died of greyscale, and their son Baelon died of appendicitis. Later Targaryens have died of other epidemics, of the pox, of tuberculosis, and other diseases.
However -- some Targaryens have shown surprising resistance to illness. Aegon III sat with many victims of the Winter Fever epidemic, and never showed any symptoms. Dany herself cannot recall ever getting sick. (She is not immune to being poisoned, though.) There may be something specifically connected to being a dragonrider (though Baelon was one), or more specifically being a potential Prince That Was Promised? Again, this is connected to the greater mysteries of ASOIAF, to be resolved later.
3 & 4. The base of the Hightower -- not the tower itself, but its first level -- is an ancient fortress made of fused black stone, which is similar to Valyrian construction made by melting stone with dragonfire (such as the castle of Dragonstone, the walls of Volantis, and the Valyrian roads). However, it predates the Valyrian empire by millennia, and is plain without decoration, unlike how the Valyrians would twist the melted stone into artistic forms. There are also other ancient structures in the world, the Five Forts on the eastern border of Yi Ti, that are also made of this fused black stone in this plain style. Some maesters also think the Hightower fortress's labyrinthine design is similar to the Mazes of Lorath, also ancient structures, made by a vanished giant not-quite-human species (called the Mazemakers) in pre-history. GRRM has said "there were dragons everywhere, once" (there are indeed records of dragons in Westeros before Valyria, and dragon bones found in far distant places in the world) and the truly ancient Asshai'i histories claim to have taught the Valyrians the secrets of dragons, so there's a theory that there was a dragonriding culture long before the Valyrians who left behind these fused black stone structures. (More on this in the next answer, and you can see an older theory post of mine on the subject here. Also note I am certain this culture was not the Great Empire of the Dawn, they're unrelated.) One more great mystery!
5. Yeeahh... this may be true. Or it might not be. Septon Barth (Jaehaerys's Hand of the King, and a great researcher into the origins of dragons, with theories that made maesters call him crazy and the Faith burn his books) apparently theorized in his Unnatural History that the Valyrian dragons may have been created via bloodmagic, possibly by breeding wyverns (flying reptiles that do not breathe fire), possibly with firewyrms (wingless/legless earth-boring creatures that do breathe fire). There's also (as I said above) Valyrian legends that claim they found dragons nesting in the Fourteen Flames, but ancient texts from Asshai claim that dragons first came from the Shadow (the mountains around Asshai), and an ancient nameless people brought them to Valyria and taught the Valyrians the magic needed to control them. And there's a myth from Qarth that there used to be another moon that cracked open like an egg and millions of dragons came out. We do not yet know the true answer.
GRRM recently said "Septon Barth got most of it right", but what is "most"? Was there an incredibly ancient vanished species of dragons that the original Valyrians re-created? Did these Valyrians somehow breed these new dragons with themselves to make them easier to control? What we do know is that occasionally Targaryens have had monstrous dragon-like stillbirths. We do know that very rarely a dragon egg has hatched a "broken thing" that dies quickly, or a monstrous wingless wyrm that attacks its cradlemate, with no known reason why. We know that in the ruins of Valyria since its Doom, there are apparently mutated creatures that can lay eggs containing "worms with faces" and "snakes with hands" in human flesh, a horrific experience witnessed by Septon Barth that sent him on his path. It's a great great mystery, and there will apparently be an answer one day.
BTW, many of these huge mysteries were introduced in The World of Ice & Fire, if you want to read just one book. However, TWOIAF is not a story like the actual books, it's a history/geography book, and if you want more than lore, if you want addictively enjoyable characters and amazing dialogue and a truly excellent story, again I highly recommend reading the main books. The lore and the mysteries are very interesting, sure, but they're not what's really kept me in this fandom for 13 years now, you know?

And just after answering that ask, I got a notification that today is this blog's 10th birthday! I recalled that I first got a Tumblr account in October 2014 although I didn't remember on what date, and I know I didn't actually post here (or do much more than follow a few people and lurk) until New Year's Day 2015.

I'm having Sailor Moon thoughts for the first time in a long time and
The cats.
They're from Planet Mau. We all know this. We also know they existed in the Silver Millenium and Queen Serenity put them into a stasis to wait for Usagi to need them after she's been reborn -She's been re-born before according to Sailor Moon Sailor Stars Musical, but that was an era of peace(?). While we don't know the exact time the cats awoke, it seems to be after Beryl's reincarnation accidentally woke Metallia up at the D Point, so it seems fair to assume the seal on Metallia and on the cats was linked.
Now, Queen Serenity doesn't come from our solar system, and is from another Galaxy (as is Nehellenia), but Pluto/Uranus/Neptune and the Inners seem to have been born in the Galaxy, as was presumably Saturn who slept until she was called upon to destroy the world after the cats were sent away. What we don't know is when the cats came to the Moon from Mau.
Did Queen Serenity take them with her when she fled from her place of origin? Were they ambassadors sent to the our Galaxy? Tin Nyanko recognized Luna and Artemis as Mau residents, but didn't seem to know them personally- it seems like she assumed they escaped when Galaxia came to the planet to murder everyone.
I have obvious opinions on the timeline of Silver Millennium events- Queen Serenity left her home during the early days of the Sailor Wars because it takes Galaxia a while to murder Everyone, Nehellenia's curse summoned a poor clone of Chaos to the sun which created Metallia, the events with Artuka happened while Endymion and the Princess were courting, Beryl did a lot wrong but I forgive her anyway, ect ect, but Why the cats were there in the first place isn't explained and we can't use the same crow logic for them.
Lead Crow knew Phobos and Deimos during the Silver Millennium Era, and that they were chosen to be trained as soldiers- presumably a type of Sailor Senshi- under Mars. Chosen by whom is unclear but Queen Serenity hand picked Mars to be, well, Mars, and we can assume did the same with the other girls, so it seems like a sailor crystal is gifted to you and linked with your star seed- or maybe replaces it?- which makes some sense since Queen Serenity just showed up to this galaxy and took over crystal duties- and appointing a child to guard the door of time and space. Is Pluto the only person in the universe doing that, or are there other doors in other galaxies? Did Queen Serenity have some type of Senshi-adjacent duty before she had to leave?
But the cats don't have sailor crystals and don't seem like they were training to become senshi- one for obvious reasons since even with the Golden Crystal Mamoru is still just...whatever he is, and the other-look PGSM is the best Sailor Moon, but it does Not fit in with the greater canon sorry Sailor Luna with your Candy themed attacks- so let's assume they....what? moved to the Moon to be advisors? Was Queen Serenity a big deal 'elsewhere' and that's what people of Mau who aren't even here to train as senshi are so close to the royal family? Was she taking in refugees from other planets that were destroyed by Galaxia? That could explain the residents of Moon and the castles of the other senshi, and why they just have castles that seem to be rules by the Moon, instead of their own kingdoms.
I know this solar system has great balance for harboring star seeds, which is why it gets to be the specialist place in the universe, and the last one Galaxia attacks, but was it the new ancient magical alien equivalent of the U.N. after the first was was presumably destroyed by Galaxia? That would explain some things, I guess.
I also think Mau was a version of Loveless which explains why human!Diana has a tail but Artemis and Luna don't (th3y hd th4 seggz ~>.<~)

postulating that the very first scene of greg being an up close jittery shot of him struggling to smoke a weed cigarette, only to then close up even further directly on his extended throat as he blows smoke out, is meant to evoke the notion of fellatio and therefore establish greg in the viewer's mind if only subconsciously as gay

Hot take: As a relative Tumblr neophyte, the announced roadmap-ish thing that Tumblr announced today doesn’t sound all that bad.
The difference between reblogs and replies is not terribly clear to people coming from other sites. You don’t need to break it, but it would be helpful to find a way to either better explain it to new users at a site level, or provide a functional difference between them. Right now, you have to rely on finding people who explain it (see below) and there are a *dizzying* amount of different opinions about how to use them! It’s really weird! You don’t have to find a tutorial to retweet posts on Twitter.
Improving the ability to follow conversation branches seems fun! It’d make more sense to be able to read the wider conversation around a post that you catch on your dash, rather than being stuck with the one sliver that you get reblogged.
And finding people to follow is another difficult thing! Believe me, I hate the “Best stuff first” feed as much as anybody, but probably for a different reason - to me, it just surfaces nonsensical posts, and it seems to wait 3 days to update which posts to surface. As a new user, I need to get my dashboard started *somehow*, and the search feature doesn’t work. Following tags makes zero sense if you turn the algorithm stuff off completely, but that’s also the easiest way to find a group of people who’re talking about things you like, or posting art about it, or what have you. Something’s gotta change on that front, and they didn’t really get into details, so it seems premature to worry about it.
Please, don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying to blindly accept whatever slop gets handed over by the overlords. Healthy skepticism is fine. I just wanted to provide a little bit of a perspective. To me, it sounds like the heart is at least in the right place. I hope they execute on it.

I really hope making it so 40k DPS is the cross profession standard is just a bandaid fix. Classes that are easier to play/have more utility shouldn't be doing as much as classes that are more complicated/purely focused on dps

i'm going through a phase of "i just want x character out all the time and i just wanna run around with them and bask in their glory" with kokomi. so much so that i'm almost scared that she'll surpass chong as my fave of all time. but i went through a similar phase with cyno so logically i know that that won't actually happen.
still kind of annoying that i can never have this much interest in a meta dps tho. like why are all the characters i have any interest in maining either 4 stars, supports, or just not meta units (cyno, yoimiya)???
#⇢₊˚⊹ 🩷∥ruby∥yoide yo !!#if i could go back in time and give my newbie self advice#it would be to pick ONE meta (or universally strong) dps. just one. even if i have no interest in them#solely to make my life easier#as long as i don't dislike them,i can be arsed to use them#currently the only 5 star dps's considered strong that i also wouldn't mind using are tighnari and xiao#and they're probably not meta either lmao#childe maybe. i just find childe international boring to play#yeah nilou's strong and i really like her but she's not REALLY a dps. at least not in the traditional sense#xiao needs high investment and better weapons than i currently have#at least cyno can make good use of a white tassel#i mean i guess i already have blackcliff pole but eh...#tighnari i have the event bow. but i also don't know when i'm gonna lose my damn 50/50 to him#nari PLEASE come home i BEG 😭😭😭😭😭#don't get me wrong cyno and yoimiya serve me well. but i didn't use cyno at all until i got baizhu#and by that point i was already capable of giving him the stuff to make him decent#yoimiya's great (she does more damage than alt chong whom i invested way more into which is good but also kinda depressing as a chong main)#i just hate how easily she gets staggered. especially since i haven't been able to build layla very well yet so i still have to dodge#(totm is a pain. geovishaps are a pain. i might have to co-op to farm totm. but being ar 54 ppl might expect me to carry. which i can't)#(and i'm scared of bringing chong to co-op cuz nobody might let me use him. if i bring yoi i might get dunked on for her rn not-great build#(and i literally have no other characters i have that are actually built so i'd just be screwed)#(luckily it's getting added to the strongbox in 4.0. it's not the most efficient but it's definitely the less painful way to farm totm)

Meta Jazz, the Arkham Intern Therapist Pt1
Update 5/16/2024: Congrats guys, gals, and others! You have planted the seeds and they have grown. Today I wrote another 46 pages on this story (the first section was only 9 pages ya'll). I'm working on splitting it up into smaller sections so I can post it now because tumblr said no to doing it as one piece. I'll be using the tag #Meta Jazz Arkham Intern Therapist if you want to follow it.
Original Note: I'm going to go ahead and apologize for how OOC Bane is in this. It originally was Joker but I couldn't see Jazz tolerating his proximity for more than a single millisecond so Bane it is.
~*~*~
The hardest thing about being a Meta in Gotham was responding appropriately during a Rouge's attack, Jazz mused to herself. Or perhaps that was just the hardest part about being a Meta intern at Arkham while studying psychology at Gotham University. Or maybe it was just her, she considered watching the guards and Dr. Rylie whom she'd been shadowing for the past 2 weeks wide eyed, pale, and shaking as theybstared at Bane behind her. It must just be her, Jazz decided, newbie guard Kyle Jennings was definitely a Meta after all. She should probably give him some tips on hiding his enhanced strength considering how often he broke mugs, door handles, and other delicate items used in daily life.
"Weapons down or I'll snap her skinny little neck." Bane growled out, shaking her slightly for emphasis. She very much doubted that. Liminials were built different than the standard Meta, stronger, faster, better endurance, and senses even if they could mostly appear to be standard humans on the outside.  As such, their bones and muscles were much were much denser than regular humans or even Meta humans. Technically, she could be considered "invulnerable" much like the Kryptonians are.
"Back up! Let him through!" Dr. Rylie  shouted at the guards. "She's my student! Let him through!" His voice was higher pitched than she could recall hearing it before.
Ah. That was panic.
Jazz sighed involuntarily and glanced over her shoulder at Bane. Why the man had grabbed the only person close to his own height nearby was a mystery to her - no, nevermind, he clearly meant to use her as a shield - but it made looking him in the eye more difficult than necessary.
"Mr. Bane, remove your hands from my person, please." Jazz stated calmly, channeling what Danny called her inner mom as she spoke. "I will give you to one to comply."
Bane looked stunned for a moment then laughed.
"Five."
The laughing continued. Jazz could sense a stir of uncertainty through her colleagues as they looked on.
"Four."
"Did you really think that would work?" Bane snorted out, arms tensing more around her.
"Three." She continued, indifferent to his words from her experiences raising her brother. Once the count down starts you mustn't respond to anything the kids do or say until they comply or the count is done.
"What cab you even do if I don't?" Bane asked darkly breathing directly in her ear. She kept her face expressionless despite the urge to express disgust.
"Two."
"Jasmine..."  Kyle whispered halfway across the hall from her looking on with a pained and horrified expression. Gun tilting towards the floor. Sloppy.
"One." She finished and Bane gave a derisive snort.
Then she was moving. Hauling the enormous man up and over her shoulder using the arm that had been wrapped around her neck. Bane hit the cold tile hard enough that the tiles, subfloor, structural supports, and part of the concrete foundation buckled beneath him. His shoulder popped out of joint, his wrist cracked - a hairline fracture by the sound of it -  and his breath was punched out of him from the force of impact. She released his arm as soon as his was embedded in the tiles and moved forward. Kneeling over him, support most of her weight on her left foot resting on the broken ground, her right knees pressed firmly across his throat without supporting any of her weight. The position put more strain on her muscles than she would've liked but at least Bane couldn't risk fighting back without crushing his own neck in the process. He could hardly throw her while flat on his back with a mangled arm.
"Now," Jazz began, looking directly into the behemoth's pained eyes. "Do you know what you've done wrong?" She asked like she would have done with Danny as a child.
"Yes, Ma'am." Bane choked out. Jazz heard movement and murmuring behind her. She didn't turn to look.
"What did you do wrong?" She asked. It was important to make sure children correctly understood why they were in trouble after all. There was a long pause as Bane appeared to cast around for the exact right answer as if he feared getting it wrong. A bad habit Danny still uses as well, Jazz thought to herself.
"I tried to hold you hostage," He choked out in a rush, words tumbling over one another as he tried to get them all out. "I scared you coworkers and it was very disrespectful."
So he'd gone for the grab-bag response. It wasn't wrong per sey but it did indicate a past history of abuse. The type of answer given by someone who expected to be harmed or ignored if they gave the "wrong" answer. Danny tended to use that method also and their parents had always been negligent at best.
"And are you going to do it again?" She asked giving him a Look as she did. Bane's eyes widened and he tried to frantically shake his head as much as possible with the pressure on his neck.
"No, Ma'am." He promised fervently.
"Alright then," Jazz said giving him a warm smile. She gestured vaguely towards the guards without turning to look at them. "Kyle here is going to take you to see the nurse and then back to your room then. I'm sure you'll behave for him?"
"Yes, Ma'am. I'll behave." Bane said. Jazz stood slowly asking sure not to put any additional pressure on his neck as she did. Kyle came and stood next to her as the giant of a man slowly pulled himself to his feet then led him away with 5 other guards.
Jazz heaved a sigh. Well, time to find out whether or not she could play all that off as normal, non-Meta human behavior.

I have no patience for this, especially now that you can make your posts unrebloggable on top of being able to make them private (also your blog). It is particularly frustrating when it's fandom/hobby-related and tagged...I get that you might just want to be able to search the tags on your own blog, but if you don't want it to be interacted with you HAVE to make it private and/or unrebloggable. People follow and search through tags, and they're not going to go check your blog to make sure it's okay to interact with your post before doing so
Or, hey! Literally put "please don't like or reblog" on the post. Still think the above options are better, but people are generally respectful about that sort of thing on here.
Why are people so allergic to getting notifications on tumblr? You all are aware that if they really bother you, you can turn them off, right? People get so fucking mad about other people like reblogging/queuing their posts, and it's like, just don't be on tumblr then?? That's literally the entire point of being on here.

Short DPXDC Prompts #881
The Daily Planet hired a new journalist for their politics sector. According to the gossip Lois heard, the new hire is a meta who impressed Perry on a potential scoop on a major violation of the Meta Protection Act. Perry instructed her to show the new guy the ropes, it’s a bit under her pay grade but she accepted. She can take a small break writing columns to train a newbie. A knock on her office door had her pause writing a new column on another Lex Luthor scandal. “Come in.” The door opened. On the other side was a man even larger than Clark. His flaming hair, red eyes, clawed fingers and massive frame cast him as an extremely imposing figure. Good thing that Lois is used to imposing, but this man was a different form of towering than Clark. While Clark did his best to look small and as unassuming as possible; this man’s shoulders stood tall. His dark suit and circular sunglasses gave him a powerful and menacing energy that was fully intentional. It’s eerily similar to how Bruce held himself during his business meetings, not nearly as menacing as his Batman persona; but still strikes as serious and imposing as he directs his company as the CEO of Wayne Industries. The looming figure met her eyes and nodded, giving her what she assumed to be a grin meant to make him less menacing, his razor sharp canines prevented it from being very effective. She mentally makes a reminder to get him lessons from her husband on making his approach more friendly. Clark has lots of experience on the matter. “Mrs. Lois Lane.” His voice was low and gruff, a deep rumbling tone that equally sounded soothing and dangerous. Shutting the door and walking over to a chair opposite her desk. He stuck out a hand, his claws glinting in the light. “The names Dan Phantom ma’am. It’s very nice to meet you.” She noted with mild surprise that he moved more deftly than she suspected a man of his bulk would. Smiling, she grabbed the outstretched hand and shook his hand firmly. Lois smiled and shook his hand firmly. He had the same gentleness as Clark’s handshakes. Still incredibly strong, but a feeling of carefulness. Like her hand was made of glass and he was afraid it’d shatter if he grasped it too firmly. Lois mentally filed ‘Superstrength’ in the lists of potential powers this man might have. “Likewise Dan. Welcome to the Daily Planet.”
