LYING HAS TO STOP
pairing(s): neteyam x fem!na'vi reader
summary: neteyam is haunted by memories he shared with you before he left for awa'atlu
author's note: i think this could technically count as angst but it's more melancholic to me, there's just lots of longing. consider this a warning i suppose. i really can't put it here but listen to “lying has to stop” by clairo while reading for the best experience!! unrelated but i have midterms tomorrow and i haven't studied #yolo !!! 😜 (help me)
Tumblr media
neteyam stood on the shore of awa’atlu, watching the sky, it's orange and pink light reflecting off the vast, endless sea. the sky here always seemed too wide, too open, nothing like the comforting embrace of the forest canopy he had grown up beneath. here, there were no towering trees to shelter him, the cool breeze that came off the ocean didn’t carry the scent of the forest, of wet earth and soft moss.
two years had passed since they fled. two years since the sully family left their home, their people, and everything they had known. awal'atu, for all its beauty, for all the new skills and wonders he had discovered, this place would never be home.
home was where she was.
he glanced down at the bracelet that circled his wrist, a simple thing—woven vines and tiny purple and blue beads. he hadn’t taken it off since the day she gave it to him. the memory of that moment was burned into his mind, one of the last things he could hold onto when everything else had been stripped away.
the way her wide, tear-filled eyes had stared up at him, as if she couldn’t quite believe he was leaving. he explained everything to her, his voice breaking as he explained why they couldn’t stay. she had understood, of course. she always understood. but that didn’t make it hurt any less.
the day his family decided to leave the omaticaya had been one of the worst of his life. the guilt of it still weighed heavily on his shoulders. they had no choice—quaritch wasn’t just hunting his father, he was hunting all of them. staying would have put their entire clan in danger, would have brought death and destruction to their people. but leaving... leaving meant abandoning the life they had built. it meant leaving her.
he could still feel the soft warmth of her hands, the trembling in her fingers as they brushed against his skin. and he could still hear the way her voice had cracked when she told him she loved him, right before she kissed him as if for the first time. her lips soft and trembling, her breath warm and uneven, the way she had pressed herself so close to him, as if she were trying to imprint herself into his very soul. he had kissed her back just as fiercely, holding her like she was the only thing keeping him grounded, the only thing keeping him from falling apart.
his heart ached at the memory. every night he replayed it over and over, the feel of her, the taste of her, the way her breath had hitched in her throat when he deepened the kiss. he could still taste the salt of her tears, mingling with the sweetness of her lips. it had been bittersweet—knowing it was a goodbye, even if she had promised it wasn’t forever.
forever, neteyam. i’ll wait forever.
he wanted to believe her. he had to believe her. but the distance between them seemed to grow wider with each passing day.
bitterness haunted his heart at the thought of what should have been. they were supposed to be mated by now. it was all so clear back then, so simple. it wasn’t even a question of if, but when. he could still remember the way she had smiled when he first mentioned the possibility of them being mated, how her cheeks had flushed a soft shade of violet, her eyes bright with excitement. he remembered how shy she had been at first, her hands fidgeting nervously as she offered him a carved trinket she had made. a symbol of their courtship. his heart had swelled with pride and affection, and he had taken it from her as if it were the most precious thing in the world. and to him, it was. everything she touched became sacred, imbued with her warmth and care. the future had seemed so sure, so inevitable, like the turning of the seasons or the rise of the sun.
but then quaritch came back, rearing his ugly head into their lives once more, like a demon from some nightmare. everything shifted in that instant. the careful plans they had laid, the promises they had made—all of it was torn apart in the blink of an eye. nothing was certain anymore. nothing was safe.
the metkayina were kind, welcoming. they had taught him to swim, to ride the ilu, to adapt to their ways. but no matter how much he learned, no matter how skilled he became in their ways, neteyam still felt like a stranger. and at night, when the village was quiet and the only sound was the soft lapping of the waves against the shore, he let himself feel it. the loneliness, the heartache, the longing for a life that seemed further away than ever before.
he thought of her constantly. every day, every night. he wondered what she was doing, if she was safe, if she still thought of him the way he thought of her. he would lie awake, imagining what it would be like to see her again. to hold her. to hear her laugh. his mind would drift back to the quiet moments they had shared—the way she would lean into him, her head resting on his shoulder, the way her fingers would trace the lines of his palm as they sat together in the stillness of the forest.
she was always there, in the back of his mind, a constant, aching presence. he would catch glimpses of her in the most unexpected moments—a flash of her smile in the curve of a wave, the sound of her laughter in the distant call of a tulkun. at night, when the village was quiet and the stars reflected off the still water, he let himself remember her fully, let himself drown in the memories of her.
he remembered how she used to laugh, how her eyes would crinkle at the corners when she was truly happy. how she would tug at his braids playfully, teasing him in that soft, affectionate way of hers. he could still hear her voice, soft and melodic, as she whispered his name in the quiet moments they shared alone.
but as the days stretched into months, and the months into years, that trust had started to feel fragile. had she moved on? the thought plagued him, gnawed at him like a festering wound. she had promised to wait, but how long could he really expect her to? he didn’t know when—or if—he would ever return. and if she had found someone else, if she had chosen to be with another, he couldn’t blame her. he knew she had every right to. after all, he had left her. not by choice, but he had still left. he couldn’t expect her to put her life on hold, to wait indefinitely for something that might never happen.
the idea of her being with someone else, though—it tore at him. the thought of another man holding her, kissing her, making her smile the way he used to—it was unbearable.
“neteyam?” his father’s voice pulled him from his thoughts. jake stood a few feet away, his expression unreadable in the fading light. neteyam had grown used to the look—his father’s concern, his quiet observations. “you alright, boy?”
neteyam nodded, though the tightness in his chest told a different story. “yeah.”
jake studied him for a moment, then sighed, stepping closer. “i know this move hasn’t been easy for you,” he said, his voice gentle. “for any of us. but you... you’ve been carrying a lot on your shoulders.”
neteyam glanced down at the sand beneath his feet, not trusting himself to speak. his father didn’t know the half of it.
“ke’loreä’s been asking about you,” jake continued, his tone careful. “she’s a nice girl. strong, kind. maybe you should give her a chance.”
she was kind, sweet even, with a laugh that rang like a bell and sea-green eyes that sparkled when she looked at him. she had taken an interest in him from the beginning, always finding excuses to be near him, to talk to him, to laugh at his jokes, even the ones that weren’t particularly funny.
at first, he hadn’t noticed. or maybe he had, but he hadn’t let himself think about it. but as time passed, it became harder to ignore. she would linger by his side during training, brush her hand against his arm when she spoke, offer to help him with tasks that didn’t require any assistance. she was... nice. there was nothing wrong with her. in fact, she was everything a mate should be.
but she wasn’t his.
“i cannot,” neteyam said, his voice tight. he shook his head, his jaw clenched. “i cannot do that to her.”
“to ke’loreä?” jake asked, raising an eyebrow.
“to yn,” neteyam corrected, his chest tightening at the mere mention of her name. “i can’t... i can’t betray her like that.”
jake let out a slow breath, his expression softening. “son, it’s been two years. i know you miss her. i know this isn’t what you wanted. none of us wanted this. but you can’t hold onto the past forever. we all left people behind. but maybe it’s time to start thinking about—”
“i am not holding onto the past,” neteyam said, his voice quieter now, but no less firm. “i am holding onto her. she is not the past. she...” he trailed off, unable to find the right words to explain the depth of what he felt. “i promised her,” he said finally. “and she promised me. i am not going to break that. she is waiting for me.”
“and what if she’s not?” jake asked quietly. the words hung in the air like a heavy weight, pressing down on neteyam’s chest.
he hadn’t let himself think about that. he couldn’t. if he let himself believe, even for a moment, that she had moved on, that she had found someone else, it would destroy him.
“she is,” neteyam said, his voice firm, though his heart trembled with uncertainty. “i know she is.”
jake didn’t say anything for a long moment. finally, he placed a hand on neteyam’s shoulder, squeezing it gently. “i just don’t want you to spend your life waiting for something that might not happen.”
neteyam swallowed the lump in his throat, nodding stiffly. his father meant well, but he didn’t understand. how could he? he didn’t know what it was like to love someone so deeply that their absence felt like a physical wound, to miss someone so much that every day without them was like another weight added to his chest.
jake didn’t push the issue any further. he placed a hand on neteyam’s shoulder, giving it a gentle squeeze before turning and walking back toward the village, leaving neteyam alone with his thoughts once again.
he closed his eyes, letting the sound of the waves wash over him. he could almost hear her voice, soft and sweet, carried on the breeze. he could almost feel her hand in his, the warmth of her skin against his. he could almost see her smile, the one that always made his heart race.
but when he opened his eyes, she was gone. just like she had been.

Neteyam sully (22) x human fem! reader (22)
Taglist: @sullybrosimp requested this and I know it literally took forever but here it is so I hope you like it!! 💕
Tumblr media
Warnings: smut, p n v, cursing, aged up characters, cream pie, restraints, dom Neteyam
Summary: you and Neteyam have been dating for a short time, but you finally get to experience his rut with him and let’s just say… you have a really good time indeed.
WC: 3.1K
🛑MDNI🛑
You sit in Neteyam’s lap as he softly kisses your lips with passion, having your usual make out routine as you do every single day. You place your arms around his neck pulling him in closer to you as you hear his breath slowly picking up, turning into heaves. You feel his tongue swipe across your bottom lip, almost as if asking for permission and you grant it as you open your mouth, allowing his tongue in.
His tongue wrestles against yours, his rough hands massaging your back until they reach your hips, where his fingertips dig into your skin sure to leave marks as you softly moan. He takes his lips away from yours, leaving quick peppered kisses along your neck as he forces your hips down on his pelvis, pushing you forwards and backwards making a groan erupt from his throat.
He brings his lips back up to yours almost as if he’s in a rush to kiss you, roughly crashing his lips into yours once again, catching you off guard this time. He takes your bottom lip into his sharp teeth roughly biting down and you whimper, pushing him away from the pain. “Shit… I’m so sorry yawne. I-I didn’t mean to hurt you.” Neteyam’s eyes stay glued to you as you feel your lip, collecting a small sample of blood on your finger.
Neteyam is usually extremely gentle with you at all times since you’re so much smaller than him, treating you like a fragile, expensive piece of glass, but today has been different. You’ve spent hours cuddling and kissing, but he's been rougher than ever although you can’t say that you don’t somewhat like it. He tries his best to clear up the blood, running his thumb across your lips but you stop his attempt. “It’s ok, my love. I am fine, but what’s going on with you? You’re usually never this rough.”
You take your bottom lip into your mouth, licking the blood off of it as you watch his face turn to guilt. “I think I’m going into rut and I-I can’t control myself. I should’ve told you before but I wasn’t sure until now, I’m sorry. I usually deal with them alone so I’ve never experienced it with someone and I don’t want to hurt you.” You hear his words, but your mind is distracted by the feeling of you sitting on the hard buldge poking through his loincloth.
You slightly rock your hips, earning a hiss from him as his head falls back. “What if I want to help you through it this time?” Your finger drags down his tight abs agonizingly slow, starting at his chest then back down until you reach just above his loincloth, teasing him by messing with the hemming. “I-If I allow myself to fully let go… I’ll just cause you pain and I would never forgive myself if I h-hurt you.” He stutters as his stomach heaves up and down in a quick paste, the concentration of trying to contain himself is written all over his face.
You kiss his lips, then leave more kisses on his tight jaw until you lead to his ear. “Good thing I like pain.” You seductively whisper before biting his ear, making it flinch as he moans. “Y/n… you can’t-“ His words are interrupted as you place your finger over his lips before jumping off of his lap to stand up. “Hold that thought. I have an idea.” You go into your bag to grab a couple pieces of cloth that you have handy for making anything that you need.
You step back over to him and smirk while dangling the cloth, his eyebrow raises in question as his eyes continuously shift from you to the cloth. “Lay down on your back, hands above your head.” You demand and he quickly shakes his head at you. “No, I’m not doing this.” He protests as he folds his arms, almost in a childish motion.
“This is just to make sure that you don’t hurt me like you think that you will, it’ll work just fine. Now lay down Nete.” You give him a glare and he rolls his eyes before doing as you say, earning a gloating smile from you as you walk over to him and tightly secure the cloth around his wrists, making him wince as you pull it one more time to assure that it’s tight. You look into his eyes who now have a darker tint to them, signifying that his rut has fully begun.
“Let's have some fun, hm?” You smirk as you glare into his eyes, slowly kissing down his stomach until you reach the hemming of his loincloth. His eyes intensely watch you, pain coating them as you take your time just to tease him. You give him a bright smile before kissing the buldge in his loincloth, his hips bucking as you quickly stand up.
His eyes follow you as you run your hands up and down your body, turning around to unbutton your shorts, slowly pulling them down until they touch your ankles. You hear a groan coming from behind as you step out of the shorts and turn back around to remove your shirt, leaving you in just your panties and bra. “I bet you wish you could touch me, don’t you?” You maliciously grin as you watch Neteyam pout, making you laugh.
“Stop fucking teasing and come fuck me, Y/n.” You can see the desperation in his face as you sit back in his lap. You know the game you’re playing, you heard about how feral Na’vi men get during their rut and you knew that if he were to get his hands out of the cloth, it was over for you. But a part of you loved the danger in this, the thought just turned you on even more.
“Relax baby. I’m going to fuck you, but first I want to have some fun.” You reach behind you, unlatching your bra and letting it fall off of you while Neteyam watches you, and although he’s seen you bare plenty of times, it always makes you so nervous to have his eyes on you so intensely. You grope your boobs in your hands, pressing your hips into his once again to grind down with more force, getting yourself off just from the groans coming from him.
A giggle bubbles from your throat as you lean down, your bare chest on his, to suck the soft skin on his neck. You feel him buck his hips once again as he whines and you release his neck to look into his eyes innocently. “Do something.. please. I can’t take it anymore.” He begs you and you smirk at his pleading attempt. “Aww. You’re so cute when you beg baby.” Your hand reaches up to his face to cup his cheek before leaving one last kiss on his lips.
You maneuver your way back down to his loincloth and quickly dispose of it, leaving his dick to spring out with the cool air hitting it making him hiss. You watch as precum drips from the tip and onto his stomach, making you drag your finger through it to get taste. “Mmm… you always taste so good.” You grip his dick into your small hand, but he quickly stops you.
“I-I need you to fuck me. I need to be inside of you, please yawne.” Your pussy throbs at his words, the ones that you’ve never heard him say to you before. If you weren’t sure before, you were more than sure now that he actually was in rut considering that he never turns down head from you, but he needed a different type of release today and you were more than happy to give it to him.
You nod your head in approval before standing up to quickly rid yourself of your panties, leaving you completely exposed to him. “Your body is so fucking beautiful.” Neteyam whines, heating your cheeks up as you step back to the bed and sit on top of him. “You say that every single time that you see it.” You smile, rolling your eyes at him as you grab his dick, giving it a few strokes before lining yourself up with him.
“And I mean it every single time that I say it.” Those are his last words before you slide down on him, earning moans from both you and him in unison. No matter how many times you’ve done this, every time that he enters you, it feels like the first time. You can’t tell if it’s butterflies or him making your stomach feel flustered and full, but excitement takes over your body as you watch relief wash over his face as he’s finally able to feel all of you.
You sit still for one minute to allow yourself to adjust to his size as you place your hands on his chest and move your hips up and down painfully slow to watch his reaction. “Fuck! F-Faster baby, please.” He finally says something and you laugh a little as you torture both of you, just for your amusement. “If you want it faster, you’ll have to get out of your restraint to do it yourself baby… And good luck getting out of them.” You knew that he would take those words as a challenge, but you just couldn’t stop yourself from saying it as excitement rumbled through your stomach like thunder.
Neteyam whines senselessly underneath you as you bite and nip at his neck while you move your hips back and forth, his dick hitting the right spot with every movement that you make. You feel him thrust his hip up as he tightly closes his eyes, grunting while biting his own lip and you smirk at the vulnerability that you have him in.
You were so busy watching his facial expressions that you hadn’t even noticed him wriggling out of the cloth tied around his wrists until you feel his hands firmly grip hold of your waist and flip you over so that he’s on top of you this time. Before you can say anything, he places your tiny wrists in his large hand and thrusts deeply into you, earning a loud scream from you.
“Don’t ever fucking tie me up again or I’ll make you regret it.” The rasp in his voice send shivers through your spine as he continues to rut into you, his tip kissing your cervix with every thrust. This is the roughest sex that the two of you have ever had since he’s always so afraid to hurt you, but you feel guilty for loving this more than how softly he normally fucks you.
He places your legs on his shoulders, wrapping his long fingers around your waist for leverage to roughly pound into you. “F-Fuck Nete! I think I’m a-about to cum!” Your back arches off of the bed, but instead of finishing you off, Neteyam quickly pulls out making a loud popping noise as he breathes out. “No. Turn your ass around now. I’m about to teach you a lesson.” The dominance in his voice makes you even wetter than you already are, which you could’ve sworn was impossible.
You gulp hard before turning around, automatically placing your ass in the air as you plant your face into your pillow, your heart racing at the thought of his last words. “I need more arch baby.” You feel his hands softly caressing your back before he pushes down hard, bringing you into a full arch. “Mhm, just like that.” He brings his hand down for a loud smack on your ass, making you wince at the pain.
“You’re so fucking wet for me. Do I turn you on this much?” The tip of his dick slides up and down your dripping folds as you moan softly, trying to push your hips back in hopes that he would enter you but instead he pulls himself away from you with a chuckle. “Now it’s my turn to tease you. Do you want to cum baby?” He brings himself back towards you, this time pressing the tip firmly against your clit as he rubs it in circles, making you flinch.
“Yes Nete! I want to cum, just please fuck me!” You desperately yell out in frustration, but knowing that this was your punishment for tying him up and teasing him. “Doesn’t feel so good when it’s you, does it?” He lets out another chuckle as he smacks your ass once again making you wince. “I love seeing you like this. Needy for my dick. Needy to feel me inside of you, just as needy as I was to be inside of you.” He takes his tip completely away from you and runs two of his fingers up your folds, collecting your slick onto his fingers before tasting it and moaning at the taste.
He places the tips back at your entrance, barely inserting it in before taking it back out. The teasing becomes too much for you as tears begin to weld in your eyes, trying your best to hold it in as you knew that you would get this. “I should tie you up. Make you keep your hands above your head just like you did me. Leave you helpless so that I can torture you just like you did me.”
He easily pushes himself into you a little further as you rolls your eyes and lay your face back into the pillow, mentally begging him to fuck you and get it over with already. “But I won’t do that to you. I’d rather watch you scratch at the sheets while I fuck you deep and hard. Just.. like.. this.” He plunges himself into you completely as his hips snap into your ass, causing a ripple effect. As if on cue, your nails dig into the sheets as you scream out in a mixture of pain and pleasure.
He pulls back out and snaps his hips against yours yet again, making you reach your hand back to his pelvis in an attempt to push him away but instead it only makes him mad as he smacks your hand away and grabs a handful of your hair, pulling your head back roughly. “Pushing me away won’t work baby. I know like this shit so take it.” He leans down and huskily whispers into your ear, making you moan.
He continues to thrust into you with force, speeding up his pace until your eyes are rolled so far into the back of your head that you’re afraid that they might just get stuck there. “N-Neteyam, shit! I’m about to fucking cum!” You feel your orgasm approaching, a tight knot forming in the bottom of your stomach as clapping noises fill the room.
“Don’t you fucking cum until I tell you to. You better not, Y/n.” You groan out uncontrollably, his demand just pushing you more off of the edge and he knows that. “I c-can’t-“ “yes you fucking can, just a little longer.” You try to hold it in as his thrusts get sloppier with every single hit. His grip on your hair loosens as his hand travels back down to your hips, grinding you on him as his grunts and groans become louder. “Fuck… now! Cum on my dick baby.”
With those words, you finally let go, allowing the orgasm to wash over your body as his warm cum paints your insides, creating a masterpiece that only the two of you will ever know about. You and Neteyam pant heavily in an attempt to catch your breath as he gives you one last smack to your ass before pulling out of you and falling down on the bed to lay beside you. You lay flat on your stomach, fluttering your eyes at Neteyam as you watch him calm down from his high.
“Are you feeling any better?” You extend your hand to his strong chest, leaving gentle touches behind as you feel his heart beating through it. He looks over to you, his eyes finally turning back to their beautiful yellow color as he grabs you into his arms, pulling you chest to chest with him and grabbing your quilt that you have on your bed to cover both of your sweaty naked bodies.
“I’m feeling much better, thanks to you yawne.” He leaves a wet kiss on your forehead, taking the hand that was originally rubbing your back and softly stroking your hair, sending tingle through your body. “At least for now. My rut lasts 3 days and the feeling will come back so if you don’t want to finish it off with me, I can understand that.” You smile at his obliviousness, he has no idea that you want to experience everything that he goes through right beside him.
“I wouldn’t want to miss it for anything. There’s nowhere else that I would rather be than right here with you my love.” A smile spreads across his face as he leans down and kisses you softly before laying his forehead on yours, slowly blinking his eyes. “I love you, ma Y/n.” He whispers to you for the first time since you guys made it official, leaving your heart to flutter.
“I love you, ma Teyam.”
“Hey Y/n, I was wondering if- woah!” You and Neteyam both quickly hop up attempting to cover yourself with the covers as you look towards the entrance of your cot, watching Lo’ak back out while closing his eyes. “Lo’ak! W-What are you doing here?!” You yell at him as you look over to see Neteyam trying to contain his laugh at his brother's antics. “I didn’t know that my brother was here, I was just about to ask a question but I-I, it seems like I’ve interrupted something so… no you know what, it’s fine! No really, I can just come back later or something? Yeah, I’ll just come back later.”
You and Neteyam both look at each other as you watch Lo’ak trip over his own words, you holding in your laugh as well. “I’ve got to go wash my eyes out or something. I’ll never be the same after this.” Lo’ak says before completely exiting your cot, leaving just you and Neteyam alone once again. You both look at each other before bursting out into a fit of laughter as you lay back down and cuddling into each other's arms to stay in that same spot until your next session.
A/N: It took me a while to write this because I kept scrapping everything that I would write until yesterday morning when I literally just woke up and went to work on it, so I really hope you guys enjoy!! 💖

Neteyam and Lo'ak going to their mate's arms after a long day <3 (separate)
headcanons!
contents: lo'ak x reader, neteyam x reader, aged up just coz it makes more sense, fem!omaticaya reader, just lots of fluff
authors note: pretty short, just trying to get back into the writing groove!
┌────── ⋆☆⋆ ──────┐
Neteyam:
He had been out all day
His muscles ached, his skin stung, he wanted nothing more to see his beautiful mate
Though the hunt just kept going on and on, the animals had seemingly become invisible
It was when Jake finally called it a day with a large beast in the hands of many men carrying it back to High Camp
Almost limping back to your shared tent he saw you laying on the soft mattress made of threaded together fabric and feathers.
Opening your arms to him you watched him buckle at the knees to crash into your chest, nuzzling into the crevice of your neck.
“Long day ‘Teyam?” Your hands rubbed down his exposed back feeling the heat of his skin on yours. He hummed into your neck leaving a soft kiss as he adjusted to get a better view of your face.
“Wanted to hold you all day baby.” He mumbled quietly his arms snaking around your chest to link around the back holding you tightly.
“Well you’re holding me right now.” Nodding he smiled leaving more kisses from your neck down to your collarbone. “Was the hunt successful?”
“It was, I just wish it was not as long. It was tiring after a while. But I had a beautiful woman to look forward to the entire day.” Blushing you left a kiss on his forehead, resting a hand to caress his cheek as he stared into your eyes. Even still he brought butterflies to your stomach, he was so beautiful laying her in your arms.
“I’ll keep you here in my arms forever then?” The slight playfulness in your voice was returned as Neteyam smiled brightly up at you.
“That is my one wish, my darling. Forever.”
Lo’ak:
He just wanted to go on a calm flight before he came home to you.
But that all went wrong, the wind was too fast, the others were not flying safely, and it ended in a dangerous crash
Upset and embarrassed he mulled into your shared home, dramatically swishing the curtains open
“I have had maybe the worst day ever.”
That was all he had to say before you ushered him to crash into your arms
“I heard about the crash, are you alright?” You were laying to a netted hammock while the force of Lo’ak’s dramatic plop onto you still swung you both left to right.
“No need to worry, I am a strong warrior.” He let out a sad attempt of a war cry before resting his head to lay on your chest.
“So you are not hurt?” You couldn’t deny you were worried when you heard but the fact he was well enough to make such an entrance into your home calmed your nerves slightly.
“Only my pride.”
“I’m sure it will rejuvenate quickly my love.” You chuckled as he poked you harshly scowling up at you cheekily
“You are meant to be comforting me. Do not ridicule me in such vulnerable times.” Lo’ak sighed looking up at you.
“Awww my poor sad baby.” Cradling his face in your hands your scooted yourself down the hammock to give him a soft kiss. “Better?”
“All better.” He said with a huge grin.

“Look, if I don’t tell you this now I don’t think I’ll ever have the courage to, so… Here it goes…” You said as you wrapped a bandage around Neteyam’s wound after you had cleaned it the best you could but there was still a bit of blood in it. It was natural, though. "I..." You sighed nervously "I like you. I'm sorry..."
You finished tending to his wound and left the bandage at the cold metal table right next to where Neteyam was sitting down while you took care of the wounded areas in his body.
Neteyam looked at you, confused and surprised. He didn't expect to hear those words... at all. He always thought you only saw him as a friend.
"I know nothing will ever happen between us, Teyam, and I don't expect you to answer. Honestly, you can just walk out of here or ask someone else to care for your wounds. I understand if you don't ever wanna see me again. I don't want you to think of me as clingy or that I'm trying to force something because I..." Neteyam watched you non-stop while you were word vomiting "I'm not. I swear. I'm sorry... I made everything awkward. Now we can't be friends anymore. Well, you're all set. Your wounds are taken care of. Hope you heal fast. Gotta go. Bye."
You started to walk fast so you could run away from that uncomfortable situation you thought you had brought upon the both of you but Neteyam quickly got up from the medical chair made specially for the na'vi, bigger than a regular human one, and he ran to you, his long, toned legs helping him, as he only needed like four steps to get where you were, way fewer than a human guy would need.
"(Y/n), wait!" Neteyam exclaimed. You couldn't believe he was talking to you and not to tell you to never speak to him again and that he would never like a human - a demon - girl.
"Can we... talk about what you just said? It's an important piece of information." Neteyam chuckled and then gave you a big, warm smile.
That was so like him. Caring so much about others, trying to make everyone feel comfortable and at ease. That's one of the key things that made you fall in love with him. How beautiful he was on the inside too. If you forget his transcendental na'vi beauty, he would still be so, so beautiful because of how altruistic, kind and brave he was. You felt your heart ache inside your chest. You knew how much you loved Neteyam and how you'd probably love him forever. But you also knew he could never fall in love with a human girl. He wasn't fond of humans. He took after his mother, Neytiri. And you didn't blame him. You weren't that fond of your own race either.
“Can you tell me why you think I wouldn’t like you back?” Neteyam chuckled softly and smiled, his sharp fangs almost making you faint of captivation
Why did he have to be so freaking magnetic? Neteyam made it insanely hard for you not to have all those feelings for him.
“Well, for one, I am human…?” You pointed out, your eyebrows furrowing in confusion
"(y/n), you're not just any human. You understand and respect my Planet and the na'vi ways, you work helping heal our kids and warriors and I think I sense some love for Eywa in you. Being human is not a reason for me not to like you." He smiled, reassuring you "I've actually had a crush on you for... some months now." He confessed as his tail moved from side to side, making his joy apparent
Wait, hold on... what? Did Neteyam just say he had a crush on you? You definitely were not expecting that.
“What did you just say?” Your eyebrows were still furrowed as you chuckled, unbelieving
“I said I like you too, sevin tawtute.” Neteyam smiled and got closer to you, pulling you in, bringing you dangerously close to his strong but soft body
Suddenly, Neteyam put his big hands under your arms and lift you in the air and you feared falling so, before you knew it, you were wrapping your legs around his waist.
His smile grew wider and he said “I’m gonna start courting you now. Do you even realize how pretty you look in your nurse uniform?” His flirting made your heart skip a beat and your legs felt weak. Good thing he was holding you in his arms.
Oh my God… Neteyam was actually holding you in his arms and he said he liked you back and that he was gonna start courting you… That didn’t sound real. You started to wonder if you were dreaming about him again. It used to happen fairly often. You were soon awakened from your thoughts by a sultry masculine voice.
“Syulang?” Neteyam called, realizing you seemed to be somewhere else, and you smiled at him when you understood that it was not a dream but actually reality. Neteyam smiled back. “You get so distracted sometimes." He chuckled "So cute.” Neteyam kissed you softly and quickly, leaving no time for you to even see it was coming before his lips were pressing tenderly against yours. His kiss felt sweet and caring, like you were precious to him. His lips tasted like Paradise and that's exactly where you felt you currently were.

You’ll be back
Neteyam x Omatikayan fem reader (shifter) (all characters are aged up)
Warnings: smut, p in v, creampie, praise kink, dom-neteyam, hair pulling.
I actually started writing this a couple of days ago when I was having a hard time shifting. Idk, I thought it was a cute idea. It was gonna be just for me to read, but I thought why not post it for y’all? So I hope y’all like it🤭. Goodnight🫶🏽!
“If this love only exists in my dreams…don’t wake me up.”
“Don’t you have school tomorrow, my love?” Neteyam asked with a soft chuckle, pushing loose strains of hair behind your ear as he stared up at your gorgeous figure, straddling his lap. “Ugh, don’t remind me.” You groaned, rolling your eyes as your head dipped back towards the sky.
“You’re almost done, y/n. Just a couple more days, right?” He asked with a smile, caressing your thighs with his strong, yet gentle hands. “I mean….yeah. These projects are kicking my ass though.” You chuckled, face palming as you shook your head.
“Ah! don’t worry, my love. You’re almost done anyway. Just hang in there.” He spoke softly, caressing your cheek. You melted into his touch, nuzzling your head into his hand as you smiled. You took a deep sigh, meeting his eye contact.
“I-I just wish I could stay here with you….forever. I hate the world I live in.” You confessed, blinking back tears. His gaze softened, before pulling you down into a well needed hug.
“I know, y/n. But you can always see me. I’m real, THIS is real.” He spoke, holding you tightly in his embrace. You relaxed in his arms, feeling his chest underneath your head, hearing his steady heartbeat. This WAS real, and it was all yours.
“I just meant that….I wish it wasn’t so hard to get here. Do you know how hard I work to try and get to you every night? What if I can’t make it tomorrow, or the next day, or the nex-“ you rambled until he cut you off.
“Then…until next time.” He replied, pushing you up to see your face. He smiled up at you before bringing you down into a passionate kiss. Tongues dancing around each other as they fought for dominance. His hands slid to your hips, pushing you down into him. You let out a soft moan in between kisses before you pull back.
“Give me something to remember you bye, just in case I don’t come back tomorrow.” You smiled, eyeing him up and down. His raised a brow, intrigued by your sensual advances.
“Get in that position I like, and I’ll give you what you want, hmm?” He spoke lowly, sliding his hands all the way down to your ass, gripping it softly. You bit your lip, slowly crawling off of him. He watched you intently as you got on all fours, before letting your head lay on the moss beneath you.
“Come and get it, big boy.” You spoke sensually spreading your knees a-little wider to reveal the wet spot in between your thighs. He licked his lips, crawling behind you swiftly.
“Mmm, you know me so well, don’t you?” He asked, slowly untying your loincloth, letting it drop to the ground. The chilled night breeze hitting your glistening cunt made you hiss lowly, biting your lip as you backed into him.
“Mhmm, anything for you Neteyam.” You spoke breathily. He chuckled, admiring your gorgeous body under the night sky. He untied his loincloth, letting it hit the ground before his cock sprung out, grazing past your clit on the way up to hit his stomach.
He grabbed his cock, jerking it off before lining it up with your dripping cunt, sliding into you slowly. You both let out a series of moans that filled the still forest.
“I know it’s been a while since I’ve last seen you. Want me to go slow, or fuck you like the slut you truly are?” He asked with a hint of aggression, thrusting into you slowly, sending a hard smack to your ass.
“I-it seems like you already know how I want it.” You moaned, gripping the moss beneath you. He grinned, gripping your hips harder before he drilled into you, deeply. Your jaw dropped as you took every hard stroke, sending you an overwhelming amount of pleasure.
“Like that? Hmm? You’re sooo quiet all of the sudden. Why is that, baby?” He asked with a sadistic grin plastered across his face before grabbing your hair, twisting it around his wrist to use it as leverage. “b-because teyaammm!” You whined, throwing it back into him, meeting every one of his hard thrust halfway.
“Because what, y/n? Huh? Tell me.” He growled, speeding up his pace. Clapping sounds ringing through the forest.“b-causeeee….you fuck me sooo good.” You moaned, voice bouncing from every stroke he sent your way.
“Oh yeah, baby? I fuck you so good, huh?” He asked before he tucked his bottom lip In between his teeth, smacking your ass once more. “Yessss teyam!” You cried, feeling your tight walls contract to accommodate his large shaft.
“You won’t leave me for too long. You’ll be back for this dick, right?” He asked angling his hips up to massage your sweet spot with his swollen tip. “Mhm!” You moaned, nodding frantically into the moss beneath you. “And you’re gonna finish that fucking school work, right?” He spoke in his melodic tone, tightening his grip on your hair.
“YES! YES! YES! I swear, baby!” You screamed, feeling that knot build up in your lower abdomen. “Mhmm, that’s right. Such a good girl for me.” He chuckled, throwing his head back in absolute pleasure, so close to his orgasm.
“Tey I-I’m…you’re gonna make me fucking cum!” You whined into the ground, tears welling in your eyes as the knot in your stomach started to unravel.
“I-I know, baby. Cum on this dick. I’m right behind you!” He moaned, watching his cock slide in and out of your dripping cunt, listening to the squelching sounds with every meeting.
“Fuck fuck fuckkk!!!” You screamed, eyes rolling to the back of your head as your legs shook, struggling to keep yourself up as you went through your intense orgasm.
“Mhmm! juuuust like that, baby. You’re gonna let me fill you up? Just alittle something to remember me bye, right?” He moaned, thrust becoming sloppy before smacking your ass one last time.
“Yes! Pleaaaseee!” You begged, meeting his thrusts halfway. He let out multiple grunts and groans before he finally release inside of you, thrusting into you slowly to ride out his high.
“Mmm! fuuuck YES!” He growled, watching both of your juices mix, dripping down his cock with every slow thrust. He bent down, leaving wet kisses all across your neck and cheek before pulling back up.
“Just alittle motivation for you to come back….”

ohhhh love your dad! neteyam, can I request that the children fought with other children, like Lo'ak and Ao'nung, and how will we react to this?? or we'll scold them
thank you so much!!🥰
yes you can, i tried to tie it in with the other dad!neteyam ask i received, i hope this is what you had in mind, anon<3
(if it’s not, i can make a new part for you, just let me know! 💕)
forever & always (pt. 2)
⊱✿⊰ ⊱✿⊰ ⊱✿⊰ ⊱✿⊰ ⊱✿⊰ ⊱✿⊰ ⊱✿⊰ ⊱✿⊰ ⊱✿⊰ ⊱✿⊰
neteyam rocks you side to side, arms wrapped around your slightly protruded stomach as his lips find their way to your neck.
“alone at last, my love. i missed you” he breathes against your skin, deeply inhaling your scent.
“i missed you more…” you ease into his embrace, resting your hands over his. you tilt your neck slightly, giving him more access to your neck as he places gentle kisses all along it.
he shifts his one arm below your shoulder blades, the other under your knees as he sweeps you up in his arms. carrying you the few feet to where you slept, he sits, gently holding you in his lap. carefully, he brings your legs together in a criss cross position, and begins to rub your feet.
you let out a sigh of relief, resting your head against his shoulder.
“that feels wonderful, ma‘teyam…but shouldn’t we be headed to this wonderful celebration you have planned for us?” you ask, guilt setting in from how much you enjoyed this time alone.
“in a bit, my muntxate (wife). were you not on your feet all day? you deserve a moment to rest.” he reassures you, kissing the top of your head.
you close your eyes, relaxing under his touch.
just as you were starting to get comfortable, a noise comes through both of your earpieces. it sounded like…
txonuk. and tsantu.
you sit up straight, pressing the headphone closer to your ear to see if you could pick up more. raising your finger to the button on your throat comm, you ask “boys? are you all right?” you look to your mate, worried now.
his mouth forms a tight line, not amused by this interruption. he pages in now, asking “lo’ak! what’s going on?”
lo’ak doesn’t answer, but jake does.
“we have a bit of a…situation here.”
you can hear lo’ak in the background of jake’s mic, yelling
“i’ll throw down with a kid, i don’t care! let me at him!”
the grip you have on your mates’ arm tightens as you listen to all this unfold.
tuk pages in then, laughing a bit herself “everything is fine, we’re handling it! see you soon byeeee!”
the fact that tuk was laughing put your mind at ease slightly, whatever happened couldn’t be that bad.
right?
neteyam growls, thumb and index finger pinched between his nose, like he was getting a headache.
“one. hour. one hour! is all i asked!” he snaps, sighing deeply.
you smile at the romantic attempt your mate made.
“it’s all right, sayrìp(handsome). once we put the children to sleep, we’ll have the night to ourselves.”
he smiles, caressing your cheek. “always so optimistic.”
“i like being optimistic. and it sets a good example for our kids.” you hurriedly say, walking over to the table where your new neck piece is laid out.
stripping quickly, you reach for your new one, and you can’t help but feel your mates’ eyes on you. you glance over, to see him absolutely mesmerized by you. his once sour mood quickly fizzled in seconds, now eyeing every inch of your body.
“nete.” you say, waving your hand in front of him.
he blinks, looking at you then. “yes, beautiful?”
“little help here.” you say, growing more irritated with your top by the second.
he chuckles, finding it amusing. “lift your arms for me, mama.”
you do as you’re instructed, watching your mate ever so gently slide your new neck piece on.
he grabs your face with one hand suddenly, squishing your cheeks, causing your lips to pucker as he places a soft kiss upon them.
“so beautiful…and all mine.”
you smile at him, resting your hand on his cheek before saying “we should go.”
he takes your hand in his, grabbing your shawl with his other, knowing you’ll get cold later.
walking hand in hand, you head to the surprise party. many clan members greeted you as soon as you entered the celebrating grounds.
as you grew closer, you spotted your family. your four children, along with kiri, lo’ak, and tuk. jake and neytiri were also present, but they were talking with unfamiliar faces…
as you finally get within feet of your children, you notice tsantu has a bloody lip, and txonuk has various scratches and cuts all over his body. you immediately kneel down, confusion plastered all over your face.
“boys, what happened?!” you hold each of their faces in your hands, inspecting one, then the other.
tsantu speaks first. “momma, the boys from the other clan were picking on se’ayl and nima…they made fun of our toruk toy because they can fly for real life and we can’t. and we told them to stop, but they kept saying it!”
“AND THEN!” txonuk starts “we did what uncle lo’ak says! talk shit, get hi-”
you cover your youngest son’s mouth, shaking your head.
part of you was so proud that they stood up for their sisters and themselves.
but the other part of you was mortified it happened in front of another clan, especially when you and neteyam weren’t present.
regardless, you needed to have a talk with lo’ak about giving advice to your children.
“please don’t say that word again, okay? it’s not nice. uncle lo’ak can say it because he’s older, but he definitely shouldn’t be saying it around you.” you say as you shoot daggers up at lo’ak, who rolls his eyes.
“can you actually keep your eye on them this time? we need to speak with the olo'eyktan.” neteyam asks lo’ak, clearly irritated with him.
he helps you to your feet then, walking over to where his parents are discussing with the tawkami clans leaders. the olo'eyktan gives you an icy glare, then looks down at your stomach, causing neteyam to pull you into his side. he rests his hand on your bump protectively, but also to avert the leader’s gaze from your body.
“this is the boys mother?” he asks, then directs his gaze back to you.
“yes.” jake confirms. “this is y/n, and my son, neteyam.”
the olo'eyktan’s glare only grew more cold and disapproving before he spoke again.
“how can you have another child on the way, when you can’t even control the ones you have!”
ice ran through your veins from his statement. was he implying you’re a bad mother?
…ARE you a bad mother?
neteyam growls, exposing his fangs as jake is quick to speak first, coming in between neteyam and the tawkami leader.
“that’s enough. last i checked, your kids started this whole thing.”
neteyam speaks next, visibly angry as he gets right in front of the tawkami leader, poking at his chest.
“she is my mate, the mother of my children, and you will respect her. if you do not, you are not welcome here.”
there is a thick tension between the two men, both of their fangs bared before the tawkami leader surrenders, bowing his head as a form of an apology. he nudges his children, who mutter quiet “sorry”s.
you didn’t really see the other children’s wounds until now, and they were much worse than your own kids. guilt started pooling in your stomach, making you nauseous. as a mother, you felt bad for them, but at the same time, for taunting your own children who also have their own wounds, you didn’t.
you grip your mate’s arm, pulling him off to the side as you whisper “nete…they must apologize. their wounds are far worse than our sons.”
neteyam silently nods, glancing over at your sons, motioning them to come to you.
“boys, you need to apologize to the olo'eyktan’s sons. now.”
“WHAT!” txonuk yells. “but they-”
“no buts.” neteyam grits his teeth. “now.”
tsantu elbows txonuk before they both speak.
“we’re sorry we hit you.” tsantu starts.
“…so many times.” txonuk mutters, earning another elbow from tsantu.
the two boys look at one another, then at tsantu and txonuk. “we’re sorry we teased you.”
tsantu holds his hand out for a peace making handshake, shaking both boys hands. txonuk hesitates, but eventually mimics his older brother.
jake and neytiri walk with the olo'eyktan and tsahìk, discussing other matters that involve both clans.
neteyam rubs your stomach gently, brushing your braids behind your shoulder.
“come, oeyä txe’lan (my heart). we have much to celebrate.”
he leads you closer to the fire, where there’s music, dancing, and plenty of food. se’ayl and nima are dancing with other clan members around the fire, spinning and laughing. tsantu and txonuk are sitting in a circle with lo’ak, and some of the other warriors from the clan, sharing stories from their battles.
neteyam brings you near the center of the fire, where he raises his hands for everyone to be quiet.
“thank you, everyone, for joining us. we are so glad we can spend tonight celebrating with you all. ten years with my mate have been the best years of my life, and i look forward to many more with her. she is the most beautiful, intelligent, kind, loving soul i have ever had the pleasure to know and love. she is a wonderful mother to our four children, and soon enough, five.”
he gently places his hand over your stomach, smiling.
“and i would be lost without her. so if i may, propose a toast. to my beautiful mate. to ten years, and many more!”
“pxay nì'ul!” (many more!) the clan chants, cheering for you both as the celebration resumes.
any insecurities you had from the tawkami leader’s words faded away with neteyam’s beautiful speech.
you take his face in your hands, placing a strong kiss to his lips. you pull away to whisper “i love you. so much.”
he smiles against your lips, pulling you in close as he says “i love you more. happy anniversary, oeyä muntxate.” (my mate)
wrapping an arm around your waist, the other holding your hand, neteyam sways with you, rocking you back and forth gently as the celebration continues.

Forget Him Part 1- Neteyam Sully
Tumblr media
All characters are aged up.
Warnings - arguing, Lo’ak is a complete asshole in this and I’m sorry for all my Lo’ak girlies I’ll make it up to you🫶🏻, swearing, mating. This is not proof read
Summary - Lo’ak and reader are in a toxic relationship (they are not mated) and after an argument the reader realises she’s in love with Neteyam and they mate. This will have a smut part 2
Your boyfriend Lo’ak knew just how to get under your skin, rippling you with a fire so furious it was scolding. And worst thing was he loved the reaction you gave him. So you clamped your jaw tight, grinding your teeth and tearing into the inside of your cheek until the metallic taste of blood overwhelmed your mouth. You were determined not to give him the reaction he so clearly wanted but every inch of your body and soul hated him. Your eyes were overflowing with hatred as you watched him tower over you, asserting his dominance, screaming at you for something you hadn’t even started.
You noticed his heaving chest, his trembling arms like he was resisting the urge to lash out like a rabid animal and your eyes were daring him to do it. The blood rushing in your ears and your own thumping heart was too much on top of everything else. You were a building about to collapse into rubble, taking everything down with you. Lo’ak’s frenzy came to a quick end when you opened your mouth to speak for the first time in what seemed like hours, in reality it wasn’t even minutes. Your calm tone confused him, you’d usually be mental right now. Screaming back at him, launching a fist to his face when he got too confrontational. You weren’t proud of it but Lo’ak wasn’t innocent either. You’d both put your hands on each other and while you knew you were slowly digging yourself a grave, your moaning heart wouldn’t let you leave.
“Do you ever hear yourself? The reaction you’ve just had has told me everything I need to know Lo’ak.” You kept eye contact although his hard gaze faltered. You were sure he was thinking of something in that complex, fucked up mind of his to salvage the situation.
“You know you’re starting to piss me off. How am I supposed to react when my girlfriend accuses me of fucking other bitches?” His tone picks up as he progresses through every syllable.
“That’s something that will fail every relationship you have with a woman Lo’ak. You think and act like a boy. I know you have and you know what I’m not even pissed off anymore I shouldn’t expect less from you. I’m so glad we aren’t mates because then I’d be stuck with you forever! You know what, I’m gonna fuck someone else and then I’m gonna come home still smelling like sex and cuddle up to you like you’ve been doing to me for the past 3 months. Does that sound alright my love?” Lo’ak was truly seeing red by the time you’d finished and without thinking his fist collided with a tree. You scoffed, better the tree than your face, making to get up and stalk away to fulfill your promise but you were pulled back by harsh hands on your hips and Lo’ak’s hot body against yours.
“No man in this fucking clan is willing to put their dicks anywhere near you, princess.” He breathes, sending a sinister chill down your spine. You pulled his hands from your body and with a hell of a lot of restraint you manage to walk away without hitting him. Only allowing the rush of embarrassment to make its way up to your cheeks when you know you’re far from his burning gaze.
Was what he said true? Was every man in the clan that repulsed by you? And were you making a huge mistake to threaten your relationship if it was?
Thoughts burned into your vision as you walked. You had no exact destination. You found your legs to be taking you in the opposite direction to the village, trekking you far into the forest to areas even you didn’t recognise.
Eclipse was hours gone and the night sky had woken up the bioluminescent flora of Pandora. The ground lit up as you walked and plants gravitated towards you. Streams seemed as clear as glass, making not a sound as it flowed effortlessly along its bed. Bed. You longed for your bed right now. But you knew the second you went back you’d face the humiliation of your boyfriend all over again and that gave your tired legs the motivation they needed to keep walking, sure that you’d find your way back when you were ready.
In the daze of your walking, your primal hunting instincts remained focused. Catching sounds that made you jump every now and then. You weren’t afraid of the forest but this was unknown territory, Eywa knows what animal hunting ground you may be trespassing on. An ikran screech dragged you out of your foggy state. You recognised the call and watched as Neteyam and his ikran, Seze, soared above you. Wafting the air and attacking the leaves as Neteyam landed and dismounted from Seze.
“Fancy seeing you here.” He called to you, as he patted down Seze to calm her, a cheeky grin on his face that subconsciously frenzied your heart. He laughed at your dismantled look.
“Well someone’s a stalker aren’t they?” You asked him with a mischievous glint in your eyes. Neteyam scoffed and made his way to you and you gulped quietly as you could feel the heat almost radiating off his body.
“You wish I was stalking you. You shouldn’t be this far into the forest anyway.” He ruffled your hair, something he knew drove you crazy and you swatted his hand away frustratedly.
“Then what are you doing out here, golden boy.” You raised an eyebrow and Neteyam shrugged leaning against a nearby tree and picking at his dagger casually.
Neteyam was never one to break rules and his father, Jake Sully, was strict about going out last eclipse. You were sure he must be going out of his mind right now. You faked an antagonising gasp and said, “Look at you breaking the rules you little rebel!”
Neteyam rolled his eyes and you redirected your gaze to the ground, shuffling on your feet nervously. You’ve always been nervous around Neteyam, and you could never put your finger on why. You glanced back up at him and admired his eyes, a quick blush formed on your cheeks as you bit your lip anxiously. Maybe because he was so damn gorgeous. You shook the thought from your head, you couldn’t cheat on Lo’ak with his brother. That would make you the biggest bitch on Pandora, although he has made your life a living hell from the moment he entered it..
Fuck it. Why not.
“What did my brother do?” Neteyam asked, not taking his eyes off you for a second. You sighed in frustration, “What hasn’t he done, Teyam,” You sat down on the mossy ground and Neteyam followed waiting for you to keep talking, “We had a fight because I’m 99% certain he’s cheating on me. Hes always late to meet me, he’s all sweaty and he’s always changed his loincloth and he just cuddles up to me in bed like I’m completely blind to what he’s doing. Anyway, he didn’t like my accusation and you know how we get when we fight and I got angry and told him I’d go fuck someone else too and he told me no one in the clan would even think about getting near me.”
Neteyam’s eyes are full of nothing but disgust at his brothers actions. Neteyam pulls you onto his lap and engulfs you in his strong arms, you stay there for minutes just breathing in his scent and taking in his warmth. Neteyam pulls away but his arms are still resting on your hips, one of his hands finds your cheek and strokes it softly with his thumb.
“You know that isn’t true right.” Neteyam’s voice is smooth and soft like velvet and it spreads through every inch of your body, comforting you with just a few measly words. His eyes search yours and you glance down, picking nervously at your fingers and shrug.
Neteyam lets out a small laugh and tucks some of your loose wavy hair behind your ear (think of Neytiri’s best hairstyle aka the one she mates with Jake). “Y/n, you have no idea the effect you have. Every man in the clan wants you. It’s sad really. Men that would treat you like a fucking queen and you’re getting the bare minimum from my brother.” He shakes his head, looking down at your lips for just a second.
“Neteyam..” Your face is just inches away from his and his breath is fanning your face. You don’t know what you’re feeling but it’s exhilarating, like having all the wind knocked from your body and every nerve on fire.
“Shh. Let this happen.” He whispers, he’s now just a few centimetres away and your hands have found the back of his neck and his have repositioned you to be straddling him.
Your chest against his makes you nervous, your heart is drumming so fast you don’t want him to feel it. You don’t have time to worry anymore because before you know it Neteyam has closed the gap between you, filling it with his soft warm lips against yours. The kiss filled every empty space in you, flooding you with a feeling you can only describe as electricity.
His lips against yours felt so right, and so did the feelings you were having towards him. When you pulled away, you both just stared into each other eyes so full of love, chests panting to get your breaths back. “Neteyam-“ You exclaim, wanting to tell him everything you’re feeling but he cuts you off with more kisses to your lips.
“I know, ma tìyawn.” He breathes into your neck as he covers it in sloppy kisses. Drunk with sudden love, you couldn’t keep your hands off each other. Neteyam explored your body with his lips and his hands, kissing every soft spot and freckle and caressing every curve.
You guided his hands to the strings of your top, concealing your full breasts. Neteyam gladly removed your top and tossed it into the wilderness, you smiled and blushed as he just took in the beautiful sight for a minute.
“Eywa have mercy. You’re so fucking perfect, Y/n.” He mumbled before latching onto your breasts, sucking at the gentle skin. You hummed and Neteyam took one of your nipples into his mouth, making you gasp as he flicked his tongue over your sensitive bud. His free hand fondled your other breast, mesmerised by their fullness.
You moaned as Neteyam continued to suck on your nipples before pulling away and resting his forehead gently on yours. “Can I ask you something without you thinking I’m insane?” Neteyam smiled as he spoke. You nodded and bit your lip, watching him intently.
“Be my mate? I’m crazy for you and I can tell you feel the same way.” He stares into your eyes nervously and your heart thundered in your chest as you reached behind you to take your queue in your hands and bringing it forward.
“I want you Neteyam.” You whispered and Neteyam’s eyes lit as he brought his queue forward too. You gazed longingly into his eyes as the tendrils finally made contact, dancing and intertwining together before calming and connecting you to Neteyam. You watched as Neteyam’s eyes dilated and he watched yours do the same and a feeling you couldn’t describe flooded your body, making you force your eyes closed and a small gasp escape both of you. You felt every inch of him through tsaheylu and the overwhelming love made you shudder uncontrollably. When you opened your eyes once again to meet his, his eyes were bright with awe.
“You’re mine now.” He whispered as his lips once again found your skin.

His Little Girl Is Not Yet a Warrior
Jake Sully x Daughter! Reader
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Plot: You are Jake and Neytiri’s only daughter. You and Lo’ak disobey your parents and travel to a dangerous cave where you fall and hurt yourself. Your dad rescues and comforts you while you’re being healed. The two of you have a discussion around your safety.
Warning: blood, injury
Tumblr media Tumblr media
You and Lo’ak laugh as you race each other through the thick forest. Your chest burns and your legs are starting to ache, but you refuse to quit. He might be older, but you are for sure faster and you are gunna prove it. You pick up speed and manage to pass him for a second before he inches in front of you and tags the tree marked as the finish line.
“Ha! Point for me baby sister,” Lo’ak says with pride as he jogs in place and pants from exhaustion.
“Yeah yeah whatever, I almost had you at the end there,” you reply with annoyance.
You often hung out with Lo’ak while Neteyam was out hunting and going on missions with your parents. The two of you had not yet become warriors, meaning you had to miss out on all the important missions. Despite how incredibly annoying Lo’ak was as a big brother, you had a connection with him because you both felt like you were living in Neteyam’s shadow.
Lo’ak was the middle child, often ignored unless he was causing trouble… which he usually was. And you were the youngest, always sheltered despite being better at hunting than most kids your age. But for the most part you accepted it, knowing you would prove your worth when the time came.
You bend over with your palms resting on your knees to catch your breath after the race. Just then you got the bright idea to prank Lo’ak. It would be the perfect revenge for when he scared you earlier this morning. You place your hand to your chest and start to breathe heavy, as if you are struggling to get air through your lungs.
“Y/N, you okay?” Lo’ak asks with concern, but you don’t respond.
He runs over to you to see what is wrong. He takes your hand and lifts your face to look at you. “Do you need to sit down?”
“Gotcha!” You shout in his face and push him backwards. He stumbles and falls to the ground.
“No fair, you’re playing dirty!” he yells while sitting up.
“Looks to me like you’re the only one playing in the dirt big brother,” you tease him before holding out your hand to help him up.
Lo’ak takes your hand and proceeds to yank you down onto the ground where he is.
“Another point for me… you never learn,” Lo’ak throws his head back in laughter.
You playfully slap his arm and you both laugh with each other before taking a break to figure out what to do next.
“Wanna head back?” You ask.
“Nah, it’s not even close to eclipse. If we go back now, grandmother is going to force us to do those chores we forgot about.”
“Oh yeah, you’re right. Hmmm, we could check out that cave we found that one time when we were hunting!”
“I don’t know… Dad said we werent allowed to go there without him cause the terrain seemed unsafe. He would kill me if I took you there.”
“You scared or something?”
“Im not scared, I’ve just been on thin ice with Dad lately… I’m trying not to screw up again.”
You give him an annoyed look. You couldn’t believe that out of all the times Lo’ak would want to start a clean streak, it would be now.
He rolls his eyes at you. “Of course you don’t get it, mom and dad let you off easy. Me? Not so much.”
You knew that he was right… your brothers always got into more trouble because your parents gave them more responsibility. But you weren’t giving up that easy. You put on your best pouting face and look up at Lo’ak.
“You and Neteyam got to go with dad last time and he made me stay home. You said the cave was so cool, I just want to feel included.”
Lo’ak looks like he is thinking the decision over. You slip your arms around his waist to hug him and plead. “Please big brother? I’ll love you forever.”
“You already love me forever.”
“I’ll love you forever times infinity.”
After several moments of silence and contemplation, Lo’ak agrees.
“Fine, I’ll take you. But no playing around while we’re there, okay?”
“No playing around, got it. Thank you, thank you, thank you!”
Lo’ak calls to his ikran and hops on. Then he takes your arm and helps you up as well. You sit in the front of him and he holds onto your stomach with one hand to keep you in place while holding the reigns with the other.
You were used to riding as a passenger because you had yet to pass your iknimaya. But the time would come soon, and you couldnt wait to have your own Ikran. Maybe then, you’d be treated a little more seriously. For now, you enjoy the feeling of the wind on your face as you lean into your brother’s chest and begin the journey to the cave.
You arrive at the cave opening and Lo’ak helps you down.
“Hold my hand the whole time, okay? I know the path, but I dont want you to fall.”
“Okay,” you respond and you take your brother’s hand.
Lo’ak begins to lead you deeper into the cave and you look up and around in awe at the colorful crystals surrounding you. “Its so beautiful here.”
“I know right, look at these cool structures over here,” he says while pointing to the left.
“Woah!” You exclaim. Lo’ak smiles at you, feeling happy that you are enjoying it already.
You reach a leveled platform in the cave and he releases your hand. “You can walk here on your own, but be careful. Step lightly.”
Excitedly, you leave his side and walk around to observe all the intriguing shapes and patterns on the cave walls. You stop and stare at one structure with spirals and shimmering purple stones. Pandora was your home, but there was always new things to explore… even more beautiful than the last. You turn back to glance at Lo’ak and see that he is admiring the illuminated stones on the ceiling.
After looking around a bit more, you see that there is a small pool of water to the far right of the area. A pond in this cave? So cool. You walk over to it and kneel down to get a closer look. There are tiny fishes swimming around, creating streams of bioluminescence the water. You dip your hand in and let them graze your fingers as they swim. It tickles, which causes you to giggle.
At the sound of your laugh, Lo’ak turns to see what you’re doing. “Y/N! Get away from there, it doesn’t look stable!” He yells.
“Huh?” You ask and you swiftly stand and move to turn towards him. But as you shift your weight, your foot slips, causing you to fall further down into the cave. Your body scrapes against the rough walls but you barely feel anything with the adrenaline from the fall.
“Y/N!” Lo’ak screams.
You finally stop sliding and your body hits the cave floor hard. You grunt in pain, putting a hand to your head where it hurts.
Lo’ak runs over, carefully slides down to where you are laying, and puts a hand behind you to support your head while he examines your body. His eyes travel to your legs. “Shit, this cut is bad.”
You look down and see a gash running from below your right knee to the middle of your calf. You barely felt it before, but once you see the blood, the pain begins immediately. You wince and feel the tears rising up.
Without question, Lo’ak turns on his comms and calls for your father.
“Dad!”
“Lo’ak?”
“Y/N’s hurt… it’s a huge cut on her leg.”
“Where are you?”
“We’re at the old cave. I know we shouldn’t be here, Dad. I’m sorry.”
“You should have something to wrap her cut in the pouch on your ikran saddle. Don’t move her, go get it and bring it back to her. I’m coming right now. Copy?”
“Copy.”
“Let me talk to her.”
Lo’ak connects the comms to your ear. “I’ll be right back,” he says before leaving to start climbing the cave walls.
“Dad?” You call to your father.
“Hey babygirl, I’m coming to get you. How you doing?”
“My leg is cut, there’s so much blood. And my head really hurts.”
“Lo’ak is getting something to wrap your leg and stop the bleeding. Take deep breaths, okay? I’ll be there soon.”
“Okay.”
Lo’ak comes back quickly, trying to be extra careful around the slippery, unstable edges. He jumps down to where you are, kneels in front of you, and lifts your leg onto his thigh. He wraps it carefully and tightly with some cloth. You hiss in pain as the fabric touches the wound and stings. The blood quickly stains the cloth, but it was the best he could do for now.
You turn to your brother apologetically, tears now streaming down your face. “I’m really sorry. I shouldn’t have forced you to bring me here.”
“It’s okay baby sister, don’t worry about it,” he assures you as he wipes your tears and rubs your back.
“Dad is gunna be so mad that we came here. I’m so stupid.”
“He could never be mad at you. I’ll take the blame,” he says as he moves to sit behind you, pulling you into his lap and being extra careful around the more smaller cuts and scrapes on your body.
You and Lo’ak always bicker and tease each other, but you know he would do anything for you. This was a clear example of that. He is selfless when it comes to others, and you feel guilty that he is willing to do this for you.
“Thanks Lo’ak. You can have all the points, okay?”
He laughed in response. “Don’t mention it.”
“It hurts,” you cry.
He places a hand gently on your head to soothe you. “I know, Dad is gunna be here soon and then they can fix you up.”
You close your eyes and wait for your father to arrive. After about 10 minutes, you hear the screech of his ikran and the flapping of it’s wings above.
“Lo’ak! Y/N!” He shouts.
“We’re down here, dad!” Lo’ak replies.
You hear your father run across the cave floor and carefully slide down to meet you. Lo’ak moves aside so your father could get to you.
“Daddy!” you cry. Feeling the tears well up again at the sight of him.
Jake puts a hand on your cheek, “I’m here, babygirl.” He moves to your leg immediately and carefully removes the blood stained wrapping to examine the wound. Blood continues to pool out.
“Fuck,” he blurted out in shock at the sight of the gash, forgetting to censor himself around his children. “That’s gunna need stitches, baby.” He tosses the bloody bandage to the side and begins to wrap it with a new one.
You groan at this statement, anticipating more pain when you get home.
“We gotta get you up this ledge,” he says as he helps you up. He drapes your arm over his shoulder and grabs your side. You hiss from the contact of your scrapes with his body.
“I know it hurts, we’ll be home soon” he says to you before turning to your brother.
“Lo’ak, go up first so you can help her.”
“Hop on one leg baby, I got you” he says to you.
They manage to hoist you up over the cave ledge and your father starts to carry you over to his ikran.
He turns to Lo’ak in the process, “what the hell were you thinking? I told you never to come here without me or your mom, and you took Y/N with you?! What if something worse had happened?”
Lo’ak looked ashamed, but prepared to be scolded as he was so used to it. “I know, I’m sorry Dad.”
“You clearly don’t know, cause you did it anyway. I’m gunna deal with you when we get home,” he says sternly.
“It’s not his fault, Dad. I begged him to bring me here, he didn’t want to.”
Lo’ak raises his head to look over at you in surprise. His expression turned worrisome, wondering what his dad would say.
Jake looks down at you in his arms in frustration. “Alright, we’ll discuss this later.”
You squeeze your eyes shut and bury your face in your dad’s chest, wanting to cry once more. Your wounds are painful… but surprisingly not as painful as getting your brother into more trouble with your dad.
He presses his comms and calls to your mom. “Neytiri, do you read me?”
“Ma Jake, did you reach them?”
“I got em, she cut her leg badly but she’s alright.”
Your mom sighs in relief. “Thank you, great mother.”
“We’re on our way back now, meet us there when you can,” he tells her.
He secures you on his ikran as best as he can and you all take off towards home.
Your grandmother immediately gets to work once you arrive back at the village.
“Lay still my child,” she says to you.
“Grandmother, how much is this going to hurt?”
“Only a little stinging. Once this is over, I will give you something to numb the area. You will not feel the stitches after that.”
You nod to her to continue the treatment.
“Squeeze my hand when it hurts, sweetheart” Jake tells you as he moves to sit beside you. You nod and interlock your fingers with his, preparing for the worst.
“Take a deep breath,” Jake tells you as he breathes deeply, instructing you to follow. He rests his available hand on your heart, mindful of the way it is racing. You feel calmer already, grateful for his presence. “It’ll be okay, I’m right here.”
As your grandmother disinfects the wound, you feel the painful stinging and you grip your father’s hand tight while squeezing your eyes shut. He rubs your back to soothe you.
Mo’at reaches for a small bowl and passes it to Jake. “Ma Itan, rub this generously on her smaller wounds,” she instructs her son-in-law.
Jake obeys and releases your grip to begin placing the medicine gently on each of your cuts and scrapes.
“Does that hurt, baby?” He asks with concern.
You shake your head and he gives you a light smile.
Your grandmother was right, you barely felt the needle from the stitches. Your dad talked to you the whole time to distract you from it. Once it was done, he picked you up and carried you to bed.
“It’s been a long day, we’ll talk in the morning” he tells you as he leans down to kiss you on the forehead.
“I’m not tired,” you lie. You were exhausted, but you needed to speak to him now.
“Hm, I would’ve thought all that crying you did earlier would tire you out” he teased playfully.
“Stay with me, dad? Just for a little while and then I’ll sleep.”
“I’ll stay with you for as long as you want me to, my love.”
He pulls you into his lap and hugs you tight. You let your body relax into his hold. “I’m sorry, I really am. I didn’t mean to make you and mom worry.”
“I know,” he assures you as he holds your head to his chest and tucks your stray hairs behind your ear.
“Don’t punish Lo’ak, he was just trying to do something nice for me.”
“I know.”
You looked up at him in surprise. “You know?”
He laughs lightly. “You cant fool me little one, I know your brothers take the fall for you sometimes. You give em those eyes, and they can’t say no to you.”
“What eyes?”
“The ones you’re giving me right now,” he says before placing another kiss on the tip of your nose.
Your father’s affection makes you feel so much better. You smile and lower your eyes, your face feeling warm from embarrassment.
He let out a deep sigh. “What should I expect though. You are my daughter, trouble calls and you answer I suppose.”
Your smile starts to fade. “It’s not like I wanted to get into trouble.”
“Then why? Why did you convince your brother to take you to do something that I specifically said not to. I told all of you that it wasn’t safe.”
“Because you took Neteyam and Lo’ak there last time. I had to stay home, it’s not fair dad.”
“They are older than you.”
“I’m only 2 years younger than Lo’ak, but you treat me like im a baby.”
“You’re MY baby.”
“Im serious, Dad. Even now, you’re not listening to me.” You sit up and cross your arms, wanting to create some distance between you two. You continue. “Admit it, it’s not cause I’m young. It’s cause I’m a girl, you dont think I can handle it.”
It hurt Jake to hear you say this. Had he let his little girl think she was not good enough?
“That’s not true, Y/N.”
“Yes it is! But I’m a good hunter too, even if you don’t think so! And in a year, I’ll pass that test and have my ikran, and then you cant keep me trapped here.”
Tears begin to roll down your cheeks and you quickly wipe them away, not wanting to show more weakness in front of him.
Jake’s expression softened at the sight of you. He hated that he made you so upset. And he hated that you felt trapped. Had he been going overboard?
“Come here,” he says as he opens his arms for you.
You shake your head in defiance, not wanting to give into him.
“Please, baby? I’m sorry, just come here.”
You began to uncross your arms but your father closes the gap before you have the chance to. He pulls you into a hug and rubs your back. It feels nice to be back in his arms. No matter how mad you were with him, you always felt so much comfort in his embrace.
“Y/n, I know you’re capable. I know you’re a great hunter… and you’re right, maybe I did shelter you a little too much.”
Your expression turns hopeful, surprised that he agreed with you.
He continued. “But… that doesn’t give you the right to disobey me and put yourself and your siblings in danger. Can you understand that I need to protect you?”
“Yeah,” you reply while lowering your head, not wanting to face him.
He lifts your chin so that he could see your eyes. “I’m sorry that I made you think you weren’t good enough to be out there with me and your brothers. And I’m sorry that I don’t consider taking you more often.”
You look up at him as he says this and tears start to form in your eyes again. You blink and they fall down your face.
“You are enough, and you can do anything you put your mind to. Don’t let anyone make you think differently, not even me.”
You smile at him brightly, appreciative of his apology and wise words. “Thanks, Dad.”
Jake cups your face in his hands and wipes away the wet streaks with his thumbs. “There’s that smile, so beautiful. Where’d you get that from?”
“Mom, I think” you say while grinning.
He smiles at you. “Definitely from mom.” He sighs deeply and you both sit for a little while in the silence. “You’re still so little, even though I know you’re getting older. It’s scary sometimes, I just don’t wanna lose you babygirl… but I know I’ve got to let you go at some point.”
You wrap your arms around his waist and squeeze him tight. “I’m not going anywhere right now, daddy.”
Jake chuckles and squeezes you back while running his hand over your hair. “I love you so much.”
“I love you too.”
“Okay, promise me something?” he asks while he holding out his pinky.
You sit up and stare at him intently, waiting to hear the rest.
“Promise me that you wont do something dangerous like this again… and as long as it’s safe… I’ll promise to take you with me on the next mission.”
“Really?”
“Mhm. You need to know what it’s like out there.”
You gasp excitedly and hook your pinky onto his. “I promise.” You connect your thumbs together to seal the deal and he brings your hand up to his lips.
“…after your leg heals up of course.”
“Oh… right,” you reply as you slump over in disappointment.
Jake throws his head back and erupts in laughter.
“Not funny!” You yell.
“Okay okay, I’m sorry. It’ll heal in no time, sweetheart.” He pats the spot next to him. “Come on, let’s go to sleep.”

The Sully family had taken you in and you were forever grateful for it.
Ever since you were a baby— with Max and Norm not having enough time since they’ve been dealing with keeping things in check, you busied yourself going to the Sully family along with Spider. You grew up alongside Kiri, Lo’ak, Spider, and Neteyam acting like your older brother.
Neytiri, funny enough, had also taken a liking to you, except for Spider. Soon after Jake noticed, and with how he often hears Norm and Max scolding you for messing with the accessories and wirings in the shack if he doesn’t allow you to go outside; a bulb lit up atop his head and he took you in.
Of course, he consulted with Neytiri first, well, it didn’t take a lot of convincing as Jake was talking to her, she could see you getting along with her own children very well.
Although Jake also bought up the equation of them also taking Spider in, but she refused with a hiss, saying how he was laced with the blood of the man she had loathed all her life, even if she had killed him already.
She watched as all of you, including Spider played with each other. Neteyam was chasing Kiri and Spider around, when she spotted how you were comforting Lo’ak, showing him that there was nothing wrong with having four fingers as a Na’vi.
Neytiri agreed to take you in.
Years had passed and all of you grew, your body changed, you grew taller, and then there was the very noticeable feature about you.
“Your eyes are so cool, (Y/N)!” Tuk praises while she plays with your hair. You tilt your head. “Do you think so? Tuk tuk?” You giggle at the nickname you give her. “Yeah! They’re like the— the, what do you call it again?” Tuk knitted her brows in thought.
“Tuk, come here, stop bothering your sister.” Neytiri calls out to her, you smile and stood up, taking Tuk to Neytiri.
“Hello, Sa’nok (mother).” You greet, leaning your head against her cheek to which Neytiri smiles and closes her eyes, nudging her cheek towards you.
“What are you doing, mom?” Tuk asked, moving to sit on Neytiri’s lap. You smile and leave the two, joining the others.
You’ve seen yourself in reflections, and you’ve noticed that your eyes had two different colors. One was hazel, almost like the color of the sun, and the other was a striking blue, as if it had taken the color straight from the oceans of Pandora itself. You’ve never really made it a big deal, but you still get conscious every time the other Na’vi stare at you for too long.
You were cut off with your thoughts as you heard Lo’ak’s voice calling to you.
“Hey (Y/N) come with us, we’re going out!”
‿︵‿︵ʚ˚̣̣̣͙ɞ・❉・ ʚ˚̣̣̣͙ɞ‿︵‿︵
You laughed as you ran with Kiri, Lo’ak, Spider, and Tuk into the forest.
“Tuk, keep up!” Lo’ak turns to her as you all jogged. “Okay, okay!” She spoke.
“Bro why’d you bring her anyway?” Spider said while you nudged him.
“Cause she’s such a crybaby!” Lo’ak said, turning to face us.
“I’m telling, you’re not supposed to go to the battlefield- I’ll tell mom if you don’t let me come.” Lo’ak said in a high-pitched voice and exaggerated movements. You laughed as Tuk shot her tongue out at him.
“Don’t pick on her.” Kiri says.
You explored some more, seeing an RDA Samson hanging by the vines, completely overrun by nature.
“Kiri!” You called out alongside Tuk and Lo’ak, wondering where the girl could’ve gone. “We have to get back!” You spoke.
On your way back, you were all chatting about what happened and what all of you saw. You were in the middle of making fun of Spider when Lo’ak halted, hopping off the branch and crouching down on the ground. “What is it?” You asked.
“Guys we’re supposed to be home by eclipse!” Tuk reminded.
You watched as Lo’ak carefully inspected the footprint. “That’s way too big for a human…”
“Avatars?” Spider suggested. “Maybe.” Replied Lo’ak.
He began walking which prompted all of you to follow him. “What are you doing?” Kiri asked. “Shh, I’m tracking.”
“I think this is a bad idea…” You mumbled, still following your brother.
“Shh, sis. Besides we could warn father early if we knew what’s out there.” He reasoned.
“Not if we get killed, or captured, or worse—”
“We’re not going to get captured.” Lo’ak confirmed.
‿︵‿︵ʚ˚̣̣̣͙ɞ・❉・ ʚ˚̣̣̣͙ɞ‿︵‿︵
You crouched as you watched Avatars wearing military outfits approach the old, abandoned shack.
“We were never supposed to come here…” Kiri whispers as you crouched beside her. “Lo’ak.. I think we should… Dad’s going to kill us-“
“Shh, stop.” Lo’ak hushed you, you rolled your eyes.
“Bro, we’ve got to check this out.” Lo’ak nudged Spider as they crouched closer to the site.
After a few moments, Lo’ak decided to warn Jake.
“I got eyes on some guys, they look like Avatars… but they’re in full camo and gears and ARs..”
After a few seconds, Lo’ak gulped. “… We’re in the old shack.”
“Who’s we?” You heard Jake say through the comms.
He sighs “Me, Spider, Kiri, (Y/N)… and Tuk.”
With that, Tuk moved a little closer to you and Kiri.
“Yes sir, we’re moving out.” Lo’ak whispered, waving his arms to pull back.
Now you were running away, hoping you’d get back to the village in time.
“You’re in so much trouble.” You speak. “(Y/N) not you too. Stop it.” He replied.
“It’s almost eclipse, come on!” Tuk ushered.
Then everything happened too fast.
One of the avatars in camo popped out, grabbing Tuk as she screamed.
“TUK!” You shout out, looking around you to see them circling around you. You pulled out your dagger as Spider drew his bow as Lo’ak did the same. You hissed at them, glancing around frantically to see their guns pointed straight at you.
“Put them down, put them down!” One commanded.
“Kesatyn (Put those down).” Lo’ak says.
You grunted but obeyed, throwing your dagger down. You were immediately grabbed by the hair and tugged towards someone. You whine in pain as your other siblings were grabbed.
“Kiri, (Y/N)!” Tuk pleaded. Kiri comforted her, telling her to calm down. You were about to speak as well when your hair was tugged again.
You looked around the avatars with gears, mean looking, looked like they were ready to kill with their intimidating guns.
You were held beside Kiri who you could hear praying for safety.
Sighing and closing your eyes, you also thought of a silent prayer.
‿︵‿︵ʚ˚̣̣̣͙ɞ・❉・ ʚ˚̣̣̣͙ɞ‿︵‿︵
It seems both you and Kiri’s prayer were answered as your adopted mother, Neytiri, came to your rescue.
Now you were all running with your hands bound as shots could be heard from around you.
“Go, go!” Lo’ak said, supporting you as he gave you a push to go faster as you ran through vines and branches. Your body felt like it wanted to give up already, but you didn’t. From a distance you could hear Kiri screaming. “Spider!”
You and Lo’ak took a glance at each other, knowing that something had possibly happened to him. Your heart began to race even faster, your only human friend your age, who you also considered as a brother- something happened. You could feel it in yourself that it wasn’t good.
But you couldn’t stop. You kept running.
“Let’s go!” You hear Lo’ak shout to both you and Tuk, swinging from vines you landed on the ground, but it wasn’t far from over as new figures met you in the middle, Tuk screaming again.
You were about to attack when you realized it was the figures of your family, your father, mother, sister, and your older brother.
“Hey, hey, woah. Are you guys okay? You good?” Jake asked, meeting every pair of eyes including yours. “Are you hurt? Tuk!” Jake asked, tugging Tuk close to him to inspect her before enclosing her in a hug while Tuk sobbed.
“Are you alright?” You hear Neteyam ask both you and Lo’ak. You nod, you couldn’t really tell if you were hurt, your mind was still racing. “We’re good bro, I think.” Lo’ak said, looking at you before back at Neteyam.
You watched, hidden from them as you saw them depart with their bright flashing lights. Your heart still pounding as you faced one another as Jake approached.
“Okay we’re clear. Everyone okay?” You saw how Neytiri went to hug Tuk as she clung to her arms.
“You boys? It’s good, we’re good.” Jake says, embracing two of his sons, letting out a sigh of relief. “It’s okay.”
“Ma (Y/N), are you hurt?” Neytiri turns her attention to you, using her hand to pull you towards her, inspecting your little face with her huge hands. “I- I think I’m fine, ma.” You say. Neytiri then pulls you, Tuk, and Kiri into a big hug as she said her thanks. “Oh, Great Mother, thank you, thank you.”
You nudged closer to them, fearing that they’ll be gone at any second. Then you heard Lo’ak.
“Where’s Spider?”
Pulling away from your mother’s touch, you looked around, before looking at Kiri, seeing how her expression turned into pain. “They took him. They took him.” She said, her voice breaking as she started to sob. Your mouth went agape, going over to Kiri and hugging her, knowing how much Spider meant to you and her.
Jake stood, watching her daughters cry, holding one another for comfort. He frowns, approaching the two of you as he hugged you both. “It’s okay, hey, look at me.” Jake said, you and Kiri looking up at him with tear-stained eyes that pained Jake’s heart. “He’s gonna make it alright? He’s a tough kid.”
That made you two cry out, burying both your faces in your dad’s shoulder. “Shh, shh, he’s gonna be okay.”
You could feel Jake’s hand hold your head delicately, softly stroking. “We’re all going to be okay.”
‿︵‿︵ʚ˚̣̣̣͙ɞ・❉・ ʚ˚̣̣̣͙ɞ‿︵‿︵
A few days had passed since that event.
You felt a little bit better, except for your sore muscles.
You were hanging out with Neteyam and Lo’ak, on your way home with your usual playful banter with one another.
“I can catch a fish faster than you bozos.” You mused, a smile on your face.
“Oh yeah, you’re like the size of that fish.” Neteyam said which sent Lo’ak laughing “Good one, bro!”
“Hey! Not fair, dickhead.” You said while Neteyam laughed at your attempt to chase him.
Finally nearing the tent, you could spot Kiri and Tuk kneeling down, seemed to be listening to something, you listened in as Neteyam and Lo’ak were still talking.
Then the three of you met Kiri’s eyes as she raised her hand up before placing the back of her hand to her mouth. ‘Be quiet’ You thought it meant.
You three looked at each other before quietly making your way beside them, kneeling down as you listened.
“You cannot ask this.” You could now hear your mother say clearly. “I cannot leave my people— I will not.”
“He’s hunting us.” Jake said, then he spoke again. “He’s targeting our family-“
“You cannot ask this!” Neytiri shouted making all of you flinch. “The children, everything they’ve ever known- the forest! This is our home!”
“What are they...”
“Shh!” You say to Lo’ak.
“They had our children. He had them under his knife.” Jake hissed. “My father gave me this bow, as he lay dying, and he said protect the people,” You could hear Neytiri’s voice break. “You’re Toruk Makto!”
“This will protect the people!” Jake answered. “Quaritch has Spider, and that kid knows everything!”
“He knows our whole operations!” At the mention of Spider’s name, all of you looked at each other again as you frowned, being reminded again that Spider was gone. Neteyam offered a hand on your shoulder as you looked up at him.
“If the people harbor us, they will die, do you understand?”
You sat back down, looking at the ground.
All of you didn’t know what was about to happen until it did.
‿︵‿︵ʚ˚̣̣̣͙ɞ・❉・ ʚ˚̣̣̣͙ɞ‿︵‿︵
You watched as Mo’at transferred the vest of the Olo’eyktan to Tarsem. Every second you watched felt like it wasn’t happening.
Turning your head quickly once Tarsem landed his blade on Jake, you felt your mother, Neytiri’s hand on your arm. He was no longer the Olo’eyktan. Toruk Makto had gone.
You watched as you left the Tree of Souls, every Omaticaya you have known looking at you with great sorrow. You were one of the few humans they had accepted, and now they were seeing you go.
Once you’ve reached the ikrans, you carried your bags with you.
“(Y/N), here, you’ll ride with me, alright?” Jake said, walking over to you and picking your bags, placing them in the pockets of his ikran’s saddle. You nod as you watched your siblings mount on theirs.
Taking a one last glance at the forest, you felt your lip quiver. You were human, you weren’t even supposed to be born in this place yet it was the place you grew up in, made friends with, found your own family when yours had gone.
“Come on, let’s go.” Jake whispers to you.
You mount his ikran, Bob. Before Jake does, shielding your body protectively as you held onto Bob’s antenna.
Then you were flying.
You didn’t know how long you were travelling for, you encountered windy places, sunny ones, and now there was a heavy rain.
You shielded yourself with the much larger coat wrapped around you, almost shivering from the cold as you held onto Bob’s antenna.
“Hey, you alright? Hold on, okay?” Jake said from behind you as you nodded, shielding your face once another huge wave hits.
Then you finally reached the vast ocean. The clear waters making you see every creature that swam underneath it. You kept your eyes peeled as you neared the village. You could already spot some of its people you passed.
Then their horn sounded.
Once the ikran’s feet landed with a thud, Jake tapped you on the shoulder. “Let’s go.”
Nervousness filled ever fiber of your being as Jake supported you as you landed on the sand, still covering yourself with your coat.
“On me.” Jake said, stepping up front as you stayed behind, in the middle of Neteyam and Lo’ak, where you feel protected.
You then saw two of them approaching you and your brothers, circling them.
“What is that? Is that supposed to be a tail?” One of them said, patting the other on the arm as he laughed. “No, yo look is that…” You met eye contact with the one who made fun of their tails, making the other also look at you.
“Sky people, they have bought demons here.” The other said, now making people’s head turn to you.
Neteyam protectively shields his body from you, eyeing the other two down as Lo’ak did the same.
You kept your composure, already hearing whispers amongst the crowd.
Then you saw her.
Your eyes caught on a curly headed Metkayina, who seems to also be around your age, dismount from a creature, diving in the ocean before emerging once again, walking towards the shore as she flipped her hair.
“Why did they bring one of the sky people here?” The other said. They both take a look at you as you glanced at them. “Woah, did you see her eyes-!”
“Do not! Rotxo, Ao’nung.” She spat, slapping the other on the arm to stop their teasing.
She then meets your eye.
Then you saw it, you saw bright big eyes slightly widen as her head tilted at you. ‘Great, she must think I’m a demon too…’ You thought.
But maybe she doesn’t.
You give her a small nod and an audible “Hi”, in which she returns with the same curious look on her face, yet there was now a smile as she nodded back at you in greeting.
Maybe being here isn’t going to be so bad at all.
Then the Olo’eyktan and the Tsahik came.
You knew you were fucked.
That thought came true when the Tsahik suddenly yanked your coat after inspecting the rests of your siblings and leaving an uncalled-for commentary.
As your coat was thrown, it revealed your human body to everyone, them letting out a comical gasp.
“You dare bring their kind here?! One of the sky people! A demon!” She spoke out loud, staring you down in which you wanted to just crawl into a hole and die as you felt the familiar lump in your throat as you were met with everybody’s eyes. “And this demon,” She inches her face to yours with a snarl, staring you right in the eye. “Is different, but still a demon.”  You knew what she was referring to. Grabbing your arm.
“Hey, hey! Look! She’s part of our family, there’s nothing you can do about it. She’s not with the Sky People, she grew up here in Pandora, with my children.” Jake said.
“She is our daughter.” Neytiri confirmed through gritted teeth at the Tsahik.
She still stared you down, ears flicking upon hearing Neytiri. Somehow, she could sense it was true and let you go, letting your arm drop as you cradled it, her touch was surely to bruise. You were embarrassed enough already as she walked away.
Your older brother, Neteyam, kindly picked your coat back up, ridding the sand off it before wrapping it around you again, noticing the others staring at you for too long, making him glare at them before looking down to you. “You okay?”
But you didn’t look at him as your eyes came in contact again with the girl from earlier as she was frowning, seeming to offer sympathy to you. “Yeah, yeah I’m fine.”
‿︵‿︵ʚ˚̣̣̣͙ɞ・❉・ ʚ˚̣̣̣͙ɞ‿︵‿︵
Once they had granted your family uturu, you were now carrying your bags towards your own marui. You couldn’t help but still feel conscious, feeling their stare on you as the others still whispered.
You looked to the side to see a Metkayina kid approaching you with a curious look on their face, when their mother followed, stopping their child as she pulls them, looking at you with a devious glare.
Shaking your head, you moved forward.
Then you finally reached your destination.
“This is for you, your new home.” You heard the girl from earlier speak, and my god you swore her voice was the softest thing you’ve ever known. “This is great. This is nice, right?” Jake said. You inspected the inside, then you heard a thud and a sigh, making you look at your mother to see she had dropped her stuff. Yikes.
They had let you rest for the day as you were tired from the hours of flight you just had endured to get here.
Settling in, it wasn’t easy as you thought. Well, it really wasn’t, considering you were still human who had different colored eyes. It made all of the Metkayina stare at you when they just spot you outside exploring with your siblings.
This morning, you arranged your stuff as you claimed your spot inside the marui. You also had the change of clothes offered by the chief’s daughter, who’s name you learned was Tsireya. A name you think you could get used to saying. She offered them to your sisters and you, to better suit the ocean and the climate.
For now, you had decided to explore the area again with your siblings.
“Tuk, careful, you might fall!” You warn your little sibling as she jumped and jumped over the platform, making ‘boing, boing, boing’ noises with her mouth.
“Careful, Tuk.” Neteyam followed behind you. You were still wary of the place, wondering how things ran around here when your eyes scanned the areas. Still, you’ve been already half-accustomed to the half of the Awa’atlu village staring at you, some already got over it, while others gave you weird looks.
You were in mid thought when Tuk lets out an ‘Oumph’ making you perk your head up.
“Hey, what are you doing?” Then came the soft voice, holding Tuk steady. Tuk shyly giggles “Sorry!”
“Tuk.” Lo’ak called for his little sister, making Tuk turn and head towards Lo’ak. Now you were met face to face with Tsireya.
It only dawned on you how she was taller than you by a foot, you guessed, her big blue eyes looking down on you with that look of curiosity. You feel yourself shy under her gaze. “Sorry for that.” You apologize.
“No, no, it is alright, it is important for you guys to feel welcomed here.” She says to you.
Lo’ak and Neteyam could only snicker in the background as they witnessed you completely be a nervous wreck in front of the chief’s daughter, with poor Tuk not knowing what was going on. “Why are you guys laughing?”
“Yes, we- we feel welcomed.” You answer, although you sounded like you weren’t. Tsireya caught onto that but didn’t say anything, however, she was very much interested in looking at you, and knowing more about you, your kind, and of course, you in general. She had never seen a ‘Sky People’ before and… were they really this small? And did every ‘Sky People’ had the same eyes as you?
You were now really feeling shy as she inspected you, so you looked everywhere, breaking eye contact with her, making her realize what she was doing as she shakes her head, a slight dark tint to teal-green round cheeks.
“That is good, I can’t wait to start teaching you guys tomorrow.” She said with enthusiasm, looking at Neteyam, Lo’ak and Tuk, who returned her smile and nodded, then she looked at you.
You finally smile, and Tsireya almost chirped at how you looked. Cute
You were about to speak again when somebody called out to her, making her turn her head.
“Oh, it looks like I am needed…” She turns back. “I’ll see you guys tomorrow?”
“You bet.” You reply out of thought, immediately cringing at your tone with a scrunch of your nose, however you hear Tsireya giggle and wave at you goodbye as she jogged away.
You turn around and you were met with the playful looks from your siblings, mainly Neteyam and Lo’ak. You still cringed as you approached them, smacking their arms as they let out an ‘Ow’
“Let’s go.” You speak and Tuk clings to you as you start walking back.
“Oooh, someone’s in love.” Lo’ak started. “Oh, wonder who it could be brother, hm?” Neteyam joined him in his mischief. “I think it’s our sister, maybe? I’m not sure.” Lo’ak followed.
“I will literally drown you guys in acid if you keep this up.” You threatened.
“No, (Y/N) don’t do that!” Tuk pleaded, making your brothers laugh out loud.
Walking back to your pod, you saw your father. The moment he spots you he nods “Okay, Sully’s fall in.”
“Didn’t know we had a family meeting.” You said, Jake gives you a look before all of you sat or kneeled.
“First off, I need you kids on your best behaviour,” Jake started, hand outstretched as if he was blessing us to be good. “I mean it. Learn fast, pull your weight.” He spoke. “Don’t cause trouble, got it?”
“Yes sir.” Lo’ak replied. You and Neteyam look at Lo’ak in the middle of you two with a smirk. Neteyam playfully places a hand on Lo’ak’s shoulder, yet Lo’ak was having none of it as he hissed at Neteyam, making the two of you laugh.
“I want to go home.” Tuk suddenly says, a frown etched on her face as you pursed your lips, placing a comforting hand on her arm as she wiped her tears with her other hand. “Aw, Tuk.” Neytiri says, frowning as well.
“Tuk,” Jake said in a whisper “This is our home now.”
He grabs Tuk’s hand before looking at all of you. “We’re gonna get through this. We’re going to get through this if we have each other’s backs. Right?”
“What does your father always say?” Neytiri inquired.
“Sully’s stick together.” Neteyam was the first one to respond in a hushed voice. “That’s right, Sully’s stick together… Now this time with some feeling.” Jake requested.
“Sully’s stick together.” You all said simultaneously.

ੈ✦˳ [𝟖:𝟒𝟑 𝐀.𝐌.] ⎯ 𝐍𝐄𝐓𝐄𝐘𝐀𝐌 𝐒𝐔𝐋𝐋𝐘 ⋮ his usual morning routine always starts off by saying he loves you
Tumblr media
neteyam always leaves little messages along your path. he knew your routine like it’s written in the back of his hand. first thing you would do was fetch water in the forest and then you would past a particular tree to gather and hunt. he would wake up a lot more earlier than you, quickly equipping himself with his bow and pouch before neteyam eats a banana fruit that left some juice dripping in the corner of his mouth.
he dashes towards the tree you pass by and takes out his hunting knife. dragging the thick stone across the bark, he leaves a message that only you could understand. later on the day, you would come continue along your routine with a woven basket in hand— instantly recognizing that the tree changed in appearance.
coming up to the tree, you dragged your fingers along the engraved indents of neteyam’s message— a fanged smile blooming onto your purple cheeks.
“i’ll be by to say i love you, always and forever.”
among the path, you see neteyam drawing a sharpened arrow towards the glistening river— fishes jumping across the water. watching the feather of his bow tickle his cheek, he killed it with such ease. neteyam turns afterwards, catching your soften eyes immediately. he was waiting for you.
you both walked up to each other, contagious smiles and a soothing aura surrounded the both of you.
“i love you too ‘teyam.” you reached out to cup his face, rubbing off the sweet juice in the corner of his mouth.
neteyam cupped your smaller hand, brushing his lips against your soft palm.
if he could leave thousands of messages all across pandora for you, he would— always and forever.

From a young age, it was clear that you would spend the rest of your life by Neteyam’s side. He was your best friend, the first person to treat him as just another kid and not the first born son of the olo’eyktan.
As you grew together, the way you felt about each other seemed to grow in sync, from entirely platonic best friends, to teenagers who would sneak out of chores to kiss in the forest. One day, while leaning against his chest and feeling his fingers play with the beaded ends of your braids, he pressed a kiss to the crown of your head, whispering into your skin.
“Once we have finished the rites, I want to be yours,” your breath hitched at his words, “forever.” You blinked, twisting to look up at him with wide eyes. “If you’ll have me.” You rolled your eyes, leaning up to kiss his jaw.
“Of course I’ll have you.” Neteyam broke into a wide  smile, as if for a moment he expected you would say anything else. “In this life and the next.” If you were told as a child, that at sixteen, just days before he made his first kill, that you and Neteyam would be promising to be each other’s mates, you would have laughed them off.
Now, you were beaming at him while sat on his lap, pressing kisses to his mouth and cheeks, eliciting laughter from him as he fell back, arms wrapped around your waist.
Your parents and his had all apparently known of his plans to propose to you that evening, as they were all waiting for you in the Sully family hut as you arrived, excited that your families would become one. As Kiri swatted Lo’ak for throwing his hands in the air with a loud exclamation of ‘finally’, Mo’at guided you away from the crowd.
“Once you begin your rites, I shall teach you to use and amplify your connection to Eywa.” Her eyes were soft as she rested her hands on your shoulders. “I believe you shall become a strong Tsahik.” You thanked her with a bow, grateful that she would so willingly teach you and flattered at her compliment.
Time seemed to move both too fast and not fast enough over the next year and a half as you both completed your rites and became adults of the clan. Like his father, Neteyam became one of the greatest Omaticaya warriors, proudly taking his place at the olo’eyktan’s side. But however strong and fearless he became, his eyes always softened as he looked at you, an impatience within him to finally have you as his official mate, to be able to say he is yours entirely.
Like Mo’at told, your connection to Eywa grew, able to understand her guidance with ease. Quickly, you learned that your favourite part of being the future Tsahik was healing. Being able to help those in your clan that were injured or unwell was always rewarding. And despite her being your personal guide and teacher, you were extremely honoured every time Mo’at invited you to assist in ceremonies with Eywa in front of the clan.
Neteyam’s ceremony was performed around a month after your own, and still, he waited a week to ask you again to be his mate.
With his fingers easily weaved between your own, he guided you toward the bioluminescent clearing where he had first proposed. (And where, two short years before that, you had shared your first kiss). Neteyam held both of your hands, close enough that you could count the freckles scattered across his face; not that you hadn’t done so many times before.
“I know I have already asked you this,” his voice was soft and nervous as he spoke, “but I want to ask again.” As he drew in a slow, shuddered breath, you leaned up and pressed a kiss beside his mouth. “Will you be my mate? Would you honour me with allowing me to be yours forever?” Your eyes watered, crying despite knowing what he was going to ask, and you nodded with a smile. But still he waited, wanting to hear you say it.
“Neteyam, yes. I would love to be your mate.” He let out a sigh of relief, quick to drop your hands to grab your face and kiss you. You smiled against each other’s mouths, hands on each other and pulling each other as close as you physically could.
His hands slide down your body and grasp the underside of your thighs, lifting you so your legs could wrap around his waist. With his mouth never leaving yours, Neteyam carefully sat down and rested you on his lap, the ground lighting up under him.
“You are so breathtaking.” He whispered against your lips and you pulled away with a flustered laugh, forehead rested against his. Neteyam was never shy about complimenting you, but somehow his words never failed to cause your heart to skip and the tips of your ears to warm.
“Oel ngati kamele, Ma Neteyam.” You ran your fingers over his bicep causing goosebumps to raise as you spoke with a sigh.
Wordlessly, you reached up behind you to grab your braid that safely held your queue, pulling it over your shoulder and dragging your fingers down to the end. The soft tendrils of your queue reached for him, yearning for him just as your heart did. Neteyam mirrored your movement, bringing his queue around, and held it just in front of your own. Your eyes flicked up from your queues to meet his eyes.
Although you had loved each other since you were children, you were both still nervous that the other would change their mind.
“I am yours.” You asserted. Neteyam dropped his head forward to press your foreheads together again.
“Yours. I have always been yours.”
As your queues entangled, you sucked in a short breath, body relaxing as you watched his pupils dilate. Your heart began to race as your breaths began to match his, eyes falling closed. After years of promises and soft kisses in the dark, your souls were entwined and could never be separated.
---
You squeezed Neteyam’s hand as Tarsem’s hand dropped against Jake’s chest in a fist, cementing the change in leader and the end of Jake’s reign as olo’eyktan. The Suli Tseyeyk’itan family were leaving the clan as sky people threatened to hunt them. Revenge on Jake for something that happened nearly two decades ago. Neteyam had offered to let you stay with the clan while he left with his family. But you refused, reminding him that you were his mate, by his side forever. And if his family was in danger, you were included in that.
Neteyam pulled you up behind him onto his ikran and you easily wrapped your arms around his waist, head resting on the back of his shoulders. It was a position that you had been in before, taken on many flights by your mate from the day that he bonded with his flying beast.
But the pit in your stomach still reminded you of how different this would be. You were leaving your clan and the only family and life you had ever known. You knew that you would follow Neteyam to the ends of Pandora, but the change was still scary. You had no way of knowing what was to come with leaving your home, you had no idea what your new one would look like. Neteyam reached down and rested his hand on your thigh, giving it a squeeze as his ikran took off.
No two na’vi described the effects of mating the same, Eywa giving each couple a different way of connecting and understanding each other. For you and Neteyam, it seemed that it had given you both the ability to understand the deep emotions of each other. You could tell when he was stressed about the pressures of his future title and he could tell when your anxiety sunk deep into your bones. It was as if you could feel him in the depths of your being, an overlay on the edge of your soul.
So he knew, as you pressed your chest against him and felt the rush of the wind whistling past his ears, that you were afraid of what was to come. But with his hand pressed safely against your thigh, the warmth spreading from where the skin met, it reassured you that whatever happened he would be by your side and making things a little less scary.
---
Neteyam always asserted that you were the most beautiful being he had ever seen. Even as a child, there was something about you that made him smile and desperate to hear your laugh. You had swum together many times in the various ponds around the Home Tree and Ayram alusing, but watching you rise out of the ocean, flicking water out of your braids with a shake and laughing with Tsireya, he could swear that he fell in love with you all over again.
“Bro,” Lo’ak smacked his chest, bringing his attention back to their ilu training, “she’s already your mate, you can stop the lovesick staring.” Neteyam hit him back, looking back over at you to see your attention already on him. You sent him a soft wave, which he happily returned with a smile.
---
Despite Jake’s best attempt at keeping his family safe and keeping the war away, the need for vengeance from a man who was supposed to be long dead was too strong. All too quickly the sky people in their boat with their machines that killed tulkun with ease arrived.
You held onto the ilu tightly as you all raced to catch up with Lo’ak, the ocean spray whipping at you. You knew it was dangerous, leaving Awa’atlu, it was stupid and reckless but Lo’ak was determined to warn the tulkun he had bonded with.
You watched in awe as the giant creature rose from the ocean, eagerly greeting Lo’ak, who began to panic once noticing a red spear-like tracker in the beast’s shoulder. You wasted little time, standing up on the ilu and diving into the water, swimming over to help the boy pull the tracker out. Neteyam was close behind you, and he helped pull up the Metkayina teens who had come with you.
You heard Lo’ak radio their father while Kiri and Tuk climbed onto the tulkun and finally, as the sky people boat rounded the rocky bluff, the six of you pulled the tracker out.
“Go that way, I’ll draw them off.” Neteyam ordered, holding the tracker. As you opened your mouth to rebut, he cut you off. “Go with Tsireya. I’ll be okay.” You huffed at him, but obliged, swimming beside the girl and grabbing hold of her ilu’s saddle.
---
You held onto the ilu as Lo’ak raced towards the rocky island with Neteyam leaning against him. You couldn’t take your eyes off of him, the way he wheezed with each breath. There was no way to explain it, but you could feel a heat blooming in your chest. You hadn’t seen him get shot, having been with Tsireya after she escaped the large ship, but you immediately knew, your mated connection through Eywa causing a phantom pain.
You could only watch as Spider and Tsireya guided Neteyam up to Jake, who helped them pull him onto the rocks. Jake rolled him onto his side to check for wounds before he laid him back. For a moment, he looked between you and Lo’ak who kneeled beside Neteyal, but quickly chose to take Lo’ak’s hands and had him apply pressure.
As Neteyam gasped for breath, you felt like you couldn’t catch your breath either. With shaky hands you took his, lowering yourself down so you could hold it to your mouth, staring up at him with glassy eyes.
His breaths grew shorter, more panicked, as Neytiri landed her ikran and fell to her knees between you and Lo’ak. Jake held his face as he reassured him that it would be okay, and you felt like your throat was closing. Then everything stopped, and Jake pulled his hand away from Neteyam’s cheek.
Everything sounded muffled, like you were underwater or had cups over your ears. You couldn’t move, couldn’t breathe. It felt as though your lungs stopped taking in air and like someone was squeezing your heart. You couldn’t hear what Neytiri was saying as she shook Neteyam’s shoulders, you could only hear the anguish in her voice. You felt it in your chest as she screamed and Jake pulled her to his chest. You looked over as the sounds around you echoed to see Lo’ak staring down at his red-stained hands.
You rocked on your knees, internally pleading with Eywa to wake you up, give you a sign that this was a nightmare and the emptiness in your chest was a horrid lie. You didn’t bother wiping away any of your tears, barely noticing them as they rolled down your cheeks and met with the back of Neteyam’s hand, which you hadn’t moved from your lips in the hopes that it would twitch, that he would be alive.
Then, all at once, sound returned. And you screamed. Pained and desperate, your voice cracking. You dropped his hand and collapsed down into Neteyam’s chest, pleading with Eywa to let his heart start beating again. You could hear voices, Jake and Neytiri’s, but what they were saying didn’t register. All you could focus on as you sobbed was the hollow, empty feeling deep in your chest. You let out a pained wail as you sat up, turning to Jake as you felt his hand rest on your shoulder. He opened his mouth, as if to say something, but closed it again, instead choosing to give you a soft, sad look.
You were left alone on the rocks with Neteyam as the others left to return to the ship and save the Sully daughters. You sat beside him cross-legged, and carefully pulled his head into your lap as if trying not to wake him from sleep. As gently as you could, you wiped away the blood staining his skin, wanting to erase all evidence that he was hurt, then you ran your fingers over his face, pushing his braids to the side and wiping away water and tears (both his and your own) from his star-speckled cheeks. Once you were satisfied, you gently closed his eyes.
Neteyam was always so beautiful as he slept, and you always loved the mornings when you would wake up before him leaving you able to roll over and stare at his peaceful expression. He would always get embarrassed when you told him he was pretty when he slept, the tips of his ears flushing pink.
“Ma Neteyam. Oeyä narlor muntxa si.” You pressed your lips to his forehead while you whispered to him. “Oeyä yawne. Please, come back to me. I cannot do this without you, I cannot live the rest of my life without you. You were supposed to be by my side forever.” You hiccuped as a sob broke out of you. You leaned back, staring up at the sky. “Great Mother, please. Please, do not take him from me, Great Mother.” You continued to sob and plead with Eywa and Neteyam’s heart as the boat exploded and a fire broke out.
The yellow-orange light reflected in your eyes and the tears that stained your cheeks. You barely registered the warmth, unable to feel without Neteyam.
---
You swam with the Sully family, close to Jake and Neytiri as they carried Neteyam’s body toward the Metkayina’s cove of ancestors. You had no idea whether the salted damp permanently on your cheeks was your tears or the ocean as the two had long-since become one and the same. You barely ate, you barely spoke. Everything felt as though you were fighting quicksand, too much effort for you.
Jake and Neytiri had told you that you could swim his body down with them, but you refused, knowing that if you did, it was unlikely you would be able to bring yourself back to the surface without him.
You and Lo’ak stayed by each other’s side, your hand holding his in a desperate attempt to not take in a breath of water. He held out his other hand toward his brother, while you squeezed your fist to your chest hoping the pinch of your nails into your palm would let you feel more than just numb.
The glowing anemone reached out to Neteyam, pulling him down and into its warmth. His energy was being returned to Eywa. As the glow absorbed him you let out a sob, realising that he was gone. Your mate, the man who promised he would be by your side forever, was gone and had left you alone with a tightness in your throat and feeling as though there was part of your soul missing.
Once you made your way back to your marui, you returned to the place you had been laying since you returned to Awa’atlu after being separated from Neteyam; the mat you had shared with Neteyam in the corner and wrapped in the blanked you had brought with you from your home with the Omatikaya clan, the blanket that still smelled so much like your mate.
Every time you closed your eyes, Neteyam was there with his wide eyes and bright smile. You could still hear his laugh and feel his touch on your skin as you fell asleep. As you slept, you dreamt of the life you were supposed to have with him, by his side as you grew old together, starting your own family that would share the way he smiled and that look he got when he was flying on his ikran.
You let out a sob and it broke Neytiri’s heart to hear as she passed by. She had seen the way her mother suffered after her father’s death, knowing that the bond of a mate left the living feeling less than themselves. And she herself had nearly lost her Jake once, and that pain was all consuming. Knowing that pain and mixing it with the grief she felt over losing her son, she could only imagine how you felt, so young and without your mate.
Silently she entered, bowl of food in her hand. Neytiri knew you hadn’t eaten all day, and you were still a part of her family. She slowly crouched beside you and you jolted when you felt her hand on your shoulder. You sniffed, nose still blocked from the crying that never seemed to end, and looked down at the food she offered. You shook your head, having no appetite. Food would not solve the feeling that someone had opened your chest and removed your heart, the only solution to that was buried with the ancestors.
“My sweet,” her words were soft, and you looked up at her with teary eyes, “are you ready to go to the Spirit Tree?” In the weeks since his death, Neytiri and Jake asked you this question in variation every day, hoping that seeing him in Eywa would ease your grief. They had learned quickly that saying Neteyam’s name visibly broke your already shattered heart even further, even more than the question itself. Neither were sure how long it would take until you were ready, but both did their best to keep you afloat in your grief.
Every time you thought of him, it felt as though you had breathed in water, your lungs heavy and your throat tight. Your breaths came in heaves, every inhale an effort against the thick air of loss. It was rare you were seen outside of your marui, the darkness within keeping you captive.
But you surprised Neytiri when you slowly shrugged off the blanket and nodded. She blinked down at you, but quickly offered you her hand. You took it, accepting her help in pulling you to your feet, the weight on the unused limbs causing you to wobble slightly.
“I’m afraid.” Your voice was small, scratched from your tears and it’s lack of use.
“Of what?” Neytiri left a comforting hand on your back, knowing that you may collapse into your consuming grief.
“That the spirit with Eywa is from before we mated.” That was half true.
After Jake and Neytiri returned from the Spirit Tree, Jake had told you that the Neteyam he saw was from when he was younger. If you saw that version, he may not even know that you were together at all.
She hummed as your eyes itched. Neytiri knew you were hiding from her, and while she didn’t want to force your words, she wanted you to know that there was nothing to be ashamed of when it came to expressing your grief.
“And that I’ve forgotten his face.” That confession is what broke you, a whimpered sob breaking from your throat. “I see him everywhere and in everything. I see him when I sleep and I hear him when it’s quiet. But what if the face I remember isn’t the right one.” Neytiri stopped walking and guided you toward her in a hug. You cried freely as her hand ran circles on your back.
She didn’t need to speak, her presence enough. She was, in human terms, your mother-in-law, and she took that very seriously. You were her child, the mated soul of her son. Neytiri would protect you in every way she could and that included keeping you safe from self-destructing in your grief and comforting you in your fears.
You sucked in a shuddered breath and pulled yourself away from her, apologising for your tears that stuck to her skin. Neytiri waved you off and let you choose the direction to continue in: either back to your marui or toward the Spirit Tree.
---
You sucked in a deep breath before bending at the waist and swimming down toward the glowing tendrils of the Metkayina clan’s Spirit Tree. The cool glow reflected off your skin and you squeezed your eyes closed as you reached behind you and took hold of your braided queue.
Eywa, please. Let me see My Neteyam again.
You were home again. Back in the deep forest, feet padding along the glowing moss. You pushed aside the familiar branches that revealed the clearing. Your clearing. The place of your first kiss, where he proposed, where you mated.
You looked around, already tearing up again (a seemingly constant state for you) at being home, when the sound of a pebble bouncing along the water met you. Your ears flicked toward the sound, and your head quickly followed.
Squatting by the pond, arm still extended from the throw, was Neteyam. You let out a short, shuddered breath at the sight of him, and you saw his ears flick.
He turned, eyes bright and smile warm, his chest showing no sign of the wound that took him from you. Neteyam was exactly as you saw him when you closed your eyes.
“Ma y/n!” At the sound of his voice, the tears broke free and his face dropped, immediately rushing over to you and bringing his hands to your upper arms. “Yawne, what’s wrong?” You shook your head, not wanting him to worry about you. He brought one hand to your chin and you leaned into it.
“I’m just-” your voice cracked, “I’m so happy to see you.” He tilted his head with a soft smile, leaning down to press his forehead against your own.
“I’ve missed you.” You felt his breath on your lips and more tears rolled down your flushed cheeks, though they were quickly wiped away by his thumb. You tilted your head to kiss him, ignoring the saltiness of the tears that stuck to your lips.
“I don’t want to leave you.” Your voice was wet with tears, and Neteyam leaned back to look at you.
“Yawne, I am always with you.” You shook your head but he continued to speak. “But you cannot stay here forever. Not yet.” Neteyam kissed you slowly, pouring out the love that he held for you and making up for the kisses you had missed since his death.
You opened your mouth to ask why not, but you felt a pain in your lungs. A pain that pulled you away from Neteyam and back to the ocean as your body begged for breath.

Neteyam taking the human reader for a ride in his ikran for the first time. He’s all protective and comforting (and lowkey amused at the reader) while the reader is lowk freaking out 😭
Omg - ngl I’ve had a dream about this once 😂 This one is a bit short but I hope you like it 💙
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
“Oh Mother Eywa” you whined as you followed Neteyam - mentally panicking the whole walk. You could hear him laugh under his breath - knowing you were scared to death but somehow managed to get you to go with him.
“My y/n, you’re okay - I’m here with you” he smiled softly as he rubbed your cheek - trying to calm your nerves. You laid your face into his large hand as he continued to rub it softly.
“I’m just a little scared” you admit. “I know, but you will be okay. I promise - it’s not like I am making you go alone” he laughed out. You sighed - nodding your head okay.
The walk was long - your much shorter legs having trouble keeping up. “Can we please piggy back?” You whined out - making Neteyam stop dead in his tracks. “You’re such a whiny baby” you scoffed as he turned around to look at you. “Okay ‘large blue Na’vi man who has legs 3 times the size as mine’, never mind”
Out of nowhere he picked you up - throwing you over his shoulder. “Neteyam Sully! Put me down!” You yelled. All you could hear was him snickering - continuing to walk to your next destination.
You tried your hardest to get out of his grasp - patting him hard on the back and messing with his braids. But, it was no use. Neteyam pinched your butt - making you gasp. “Hey!” You yelled once again.
“My y/n, you are a true piece of work” The amount of bickering and whining coming from you didn’t make you realize how much quicker the two of you made it to his ikran. Not until Neteyam let you down swiftly - looking at you with a wide smile.
“Oh wipe that off your face, you skxawng.” It only made him laugh. He loved seeing you this way. “Come on, eclipse is coming and I want to get going” Your nerves came back the moment he said that - your anxiety hitting you like a semi truck.
“I don’t know if this is a good idea” You said as you stepped back slowly. He huffed, getting down so you were eye to eye. “My love, you are okay. I promise this will be the shortest, safest ride.”
You finally gave in - letting him place you on the large banshee. The size difference between you and Neteyams ikran made a soft smile appear on his face once again. What a cute sight, seeing his little human on his ikran.
He wished he could take a picture and keep it forever. The day you explained what a Polaroid camera was to him - he’s been begging you and the rest of the base for one. Just so he can take special photos of his y/n.
You watched as Neteyam climbed on behind you - connecting his queue. “Can I touch him?” You asked quietly - staring down at the green colored animal. “As long as I’m with you, you can touch him anytime”
You nodded okay - slowly moving your much smaller hand down to touch the large creature. His skin was rough but beautiful - covered in yellow and brown stripes. You sometimes wished you could have your own - but being a human has kept you from even it being a small possibility.
“I’m about to take off - I’ll be holding onto you from behind and you can hold here” he said pointing to where his right hand would go. He slipped his left in front of you - grabbing you firmly in front of your belly. You could feel your body shake slightly. Neteyam planted a kiss on the side of your cheek - reassuring you that everything was okay.
“I’m taking off, my love. Hold on” you shook your head quickly - holding your breath as he was about to command his ikran to go. “Yah!” He yelled - your eyes getting wide as you felt him take off quickly.
“Holy fuuuuuck!” You yelled as the 3 of you dipped down - Neteyam holding onto you as tight as possible. He steadied his banshee - the two of you flying swiftly along the forest below you.
“See, my love. It’s not as bad as you thought.” You didn’t say a word - eyes wide as you tried to not look down. “I almost peed myself” you blurted out - making Neteyam laugh hysterically. “But you didn’t - which means you are okay” You sighed - agreeing with him.
The longer you flew - the more you grew to loving it. You would point at things you’d never seen - eyes lighting up each time. You were starting to love it - which made Neteyam quite happy.
After a while - the two of you ended the flight and made your way back to land. The moment you got off, you looked straight at Neteyam. “So when’s the next ride?” You asked smiling.

“Don’t be a skxawng, ask her.” Part 7
pairings: neteyam x reader
warnings: cute, fluff, bad writing
key: skxawng - moron, muntxa - mate
summary: Neteyam and you decide to tell Neteyam’s family that they are finally together, but not without messing with them a bit…
Tumblr media
When the teenagers pulled apart from their kiss, neither opened their eyes.
They wanted to stay in the moment forever.
Finally, after relishing in the silence, the pair took a look at each other.
Neteyam’s ears were pulled back, red at the tips, and a shy smile was present on his beautiful face.
Y/n didn’t look much different, with rosy cheeks and a flustered smile herself.
“That was.. amazing,” Y/n finally breathed out.
“Better than I could have ever imagined,” the boy smirked slightly.
“You sure you haven’t had practice?”
You chuckled lightly, shaking your head.
“You’re asking me? I should be the one asking you,” she said with a teasing grin herself.
They couple laughed for a while until they slightly came down from their drunken love high.
“So, what does this make us,” Y/n questioned quietly, looking up at him.
The mighty warrior stayed quiet for a moment, before looking down at her.
“I know exactly what I want us to be.”
Knowing exactly what he meant, she stepped closer to him, making their chests touching, batting her eyes flirtatiously at him.
“Oh? And what do you want then?”
Stuttering, his eyes darted around them, avoiding her gaze.
Neteyam mumbled something that the girl genuinely could here, and she asked him to repeat that.
“I would like to court you,” he whispered, this time Y/n could hear.
“One more time, would you?”
Neteyam knew this time she had heard, but he cleared his throat.
“I would like to court you, ma Y/n,” he said, in a clear voice.
Blushing harshly, the girl looked down with a smile.
Smirking at how the tables had been turned, he put his hand under her chin, and brought her gaze on to him.
“It’s rude not to answer when one, let alone son of Toruk Makto, asks you a question.”
Flustered, you stuttered out your response.
“Y-yes ma Neteyam, it would overjoy me if you courted me,” she said blushing.
A happy grin overtook Neteyam’s face as he stared with love at the girl.
“Erm, if we can, could we tell my family tonight,” Neteyam asked hesitantly.
Y/n’s heart heated faster at the thought of meeting his family.
“I- i don’t know, I mean I already know them,” she stuttered, fidgeting nervously.
“I know, but they haven’t shut up about me asking to court you,” he reassured.
“Besides, they prefer you over me.”
The girl snorted, and Neteyam looked at her lovingly, enjoying her laughter.
“Ok? If it’s not imposing,” she agreed hesitantly.
Lighting up, Neteyam lifted her into his arms, and twirled her in a circle.
“Haha, stop Neteyam,” the pretty girl said, not being able to contain her laughter.
Chuckling along with her, he put her down, smiling.
“Great, they’re going to go crazy,” he laughed excitedly.
As they walked to the Sully tent, the talked about how the dinner could go.
“Ooh, we can even prank them and wait till the end of dinner to tell them,” Neteyam suggested.
“They’ve been complaining nonstop, and to be frank, their lack of confidence in me hurts,” he faked a pout, gripping where his heart was playfully.
Laughing, the girl nodded in agreement.
“As long as it doesn’t upset them too much,” she chuckled.
When they had arrived, Y/n’s nerves came back to her, and worried thoughts came into her mind.
What if they don’t like me?
What if I make things akward?
What if they don’t think I’m good for him.
“It’s gonna go amazing, I do not know why you are worried,” Neteyam said, as if he was reading her mind.
“I know, I know, I just- I don’t want to mess this up, you know,” she said looking away.
Taking a grip of her hand, he gave her a small smile.
“I’ll be right here the whole time,” he assured her, squeezing her hand.
“And besides, they’ll be messing with me the whole time.”
Y/n laughed softly, and squeezed his hand back.
When they entered the tent, the family looked up in surprise, seeing their son with the gorgeous girl.
“Y/n,” Neytiri greeted with a smile.
“Mrs. Sully,” you respectfully answered with a smile.
“Please, call me Neytiri,” she said walking towards the pair.
She got a hold of your hands and put it between the two of you.
“Will you be staying for dinner?”
You looked around the room, everyone’s eyes trained on you, waiting for your answer.
Your polite manners screamed at you to decline, but you saw Neteyam’s hopeful gaze, and nodded kindly.
“If it wouldn’t be too much, I wouldn’t want to impose.”
Neytiri shook her head, as if she had just heard the craziest thing, and she took you to sit, Tuk holding one hand while Neytiri and Kiri walked beside you.
As the ladies left, the boys crowded around Neteyam.
“Damn, didn’t know you had it in you cuz,” the younger brother breathed out.
“Oh shut it,” Neteyam playfully rolled his eyes.
Hearing a throat clear, he turned to see his father with his arms crossed.
“You asked her if you could court her,” Toruk Makto asked.
“Yes, I did sir,” Neteyam answered assertively, forgetting his plan to joke around.
Nodding, Jake put his hand on his eldest son’s shoulder, grinning proudly.
“Atta boy.”
Positively gleaming, the boy smiled back to his father, happy that he approved.
As the boys walked to the girls, Neteyam saw Y/n complimenting and listening thoughtfully to his little sister Tuk.
His heart clenched, the thought of her taking care of his baby sister, made him wonder what it would be like to have a kid with you.
She’d make an amazing mother, the thought creeped into his mind.
Neteyam blushed and grinned at the thought, knowing that he would definitely ask if she wanted kids later in their relationship.
But for now, he would focus on the present, and that meant getting through a family dinner.
Hopefully his family didn’t want to embarrass him.
Yet, as we have learned, luck was never on his side.
Throughout the night, his family shared embarrassing stories, to which Y/n relished in, and Neteyam fumed about.
It was all good fun in the end, and even Neteyam couldn’t help but laugh at his younger self.
By the end of dinner, everyone was laughing and enjoying themselves.
When everyone was finished, Neytiri stood to clean up, only to be stopped by Y/n clearing the table before her.
“There is no need Y/n, you are our guest,” Neytiri tried to protest.
“Exactly, I am your guest, so I will clean up,” the girl answered, not taking no for an answer.
Neytiri aided the girl to the clean up, as everyone else sat, beautifully stuffed.
“Your girl’s kind to your mom. You picked a good one,” his father noted.
Normally, any teasing from his father would make him heat up, but Neteyam was too happy that his lover and his family got along.
“Yeah, I did.”
Lo’ak snorted, shaking his head, causing a confused Neteyam and Jake to turn his way.
“Nah bro, more like she picked your skxawng ass,” Lo’ak laughed hysterically, making Neteyam roll his eyes.
As the mother and girlfriend cleaned up, Neytiri spoke up.
“He adores you,” Neytiri said softly.
Smiling, you answered with a, “really?”
Nodding her head, Neytiri turned to Y/n.
“He only talks about you. I have no doubt he loves you, but he is a teenage boy. Stupid sometimes. If he ever upsets you, you come tell me.”
Blushing at the fact that Neteyam was right about his family loving her more, she nodded bashfully.
As Neteyam went outside to take Y/n home, they bid his family good night, and the girl thanked the Sully’s for an amazing time and dinner.
“Come back anytime,” Jake spoke for the family.
“Thank you sir,” Y/n said gratefully.
The pair bid their goodbyes, and started headed towards her home.
Playfully shoving his now lover, he smiled.
“So what do you think?”
Laughing with relief, the girl turned to him.
“They’re amazing. No wonder your such an amazing man.”
He smiled and took her hand in his.
Both teenager’s heads were beating harshly against their chests, as if they were ticking bombs of love, bound to implode.
Neteyam turned to the girl, stopping both in their tracks.
“I love you Y/n, thank you for being so kind to my family.”
Shyly, the girl tucked her hair slightly behind her ear.
“It wasn’t heard, your family is very kind,” she said bashfully.
Taking a step closer, cupping hee face, he brought her stare to his.
“Really. Thank you, ma Y/n,” he declared with love, gazing through her eyes into her soul.
And they leaned in, kissing one another, relishing on both teenager’s love for one another.

☆ neteyam sully x fem!na’vi! reader
𝐒𝐘𝐍𝐎𝐏𝐒𝐈𝐒- even now that your relationship has forever changed, neteyam can’t help his desires of a better life for the two of you.
𝐂𝐖 - minor angst, domestic, pregnancy themes, english is not my first language lol, aged up characters (like 20)
𝐀/𝐍 - classes are over omg (relieved and nostalgic at the same time)
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
mo’at knew way before the single thought of it even crossed your mind. the silent signals your body gave couldn’t have gone unnoticed by someone of her experience. mo’at had considered the idea of blatantly confronting you about it, but she decided to wait and observe. yet, seeing as you remained oblivious, she finally chose to tell you.
“isn’t this paste too thick?” you asked the elder woman. “i feel like i may not have added the adequate proportions”
mo’at sighed. again. your apparently new lack of concentration was stressing her out. and so, that was the last straw.
“that’s not important. come” she signaled for you to sit besides her. “do you really have no clue, ‘eveng?” (child)
“about what?” you looked mo’at in the eye. had you done something wrong? did this have something to do with-
“you are with a child”
oh. oh. that certainly explained the sudden morning nausea, the fatigue, and the late changes you had been experiencing.
the news were so out of the blue you couldn’t even react at first. after excruciatingly long instants, you tried to form a coherent sentence, or even a word.
“i- uh- i- em” nothing. while trying to elaborate something, you looked at mo’at for help, comfort, reassurance, you didn’t know. but she got ahold of your hand and gave it a reassuring squeeze.
and, whether you wanted it or not, neteyam and you were afloat in this life-changing experience.
Tumblr media
walking into the room, neteyam made your eyes burn with adoration. he fit you better than your favorite jewels. your face instantly illuminated by a smile as he walked over to you.
“hey” he greeted softly, pressing a kiss to your forehead and rubbing your growing belly, his touch fresh to your skin. “how are you two?”
“as good as an exhausted future mom and an exhausting future baby can be” you hummed “which is great. how was your day?”
as neteyam procceeded to talk about clan campaigns, you mentally sighed. he had been obsessing over a “better life” for his growing family, aiming to obtain more power.
you understood his perspective, and fully supported his projects and ambitions, but you feared the corruption power could bring. you knew love was mean, you knew love hurt. but you’d manage to see through the tears.
Tumblr media
“y/n, it’s for the better.” neteyam said, lacing his fingers with yours. “c’mon, you’ll barely notice i’ve left, and when i come back, i’ll be able to offer the two people i love most a worthy life”
“we already have a worthy life.” you said. you didn’t want him to leave. his power obsession had only grown over the past weeks, and now he wanted to leave home? yeah you had your limits.
“the project is already in motion, i can’t stop it now. you know how hard i’ve worked”
“but we don’t need anything more. being here, together is what matters isn’t it?” you tugged at his hands. nothing. “isn’t it?” he looked away
“y/n it’ll be no longer than a month, i swear” now you were the one looking away.
“postpone it then. i’m sure you can do at least that.”
“the campaign is working too well, i can’t put a halt to it, i can’t just stop it”
“you can’t stop it? or are you too blinded with power to stop it?”
“it’s not like that, and you know that. but i’m leaving, that’s final, y/n”
you mustered up the courage to look at him.
“no, please. stay here”
“i can’t” he brought your hands to his lips and pressed a kiss to them. “i’m sorry” he mumbled.
days later, he and the crew were gone. you were left with a bitter feeling and a good deal of promises. you had told him you’d always be by his side, in hopes that would help you convince him, but it didn’t seem to stop him from leaving.
you stayed up waiting, anticipating his arrival, but he was too caught up chasing strenght. but, having all that time to yourself, you concluded that you wouldn’t let power get in between you both. you’d love him to the end of times. and you’d wait a million years for this project to be finished if that meant you could be together again. hoping he’d remember his promises, praying he’d remember.
Tumblr media
inevitably, resentment started to grow. as did your belly. and neteyam hadn’t returned.
whether you wanted it or not, you had developed a routine in neteyam’s abscence. and some other things, too. the part of the crew who had stayed home tried to approach you at first. but you were hostile towards them. how could you not? they stole neteyam out of your life, after all.
though you’d be assaulted by intrusive thoughts, you remembered his promise. and yours. he would come back.
Tumblr media
you weren’t able to perform many of the tasks you used to, because of your state, though you did as much as you could. as of now, you were picking some berries, tossing them in a net. the sounds of the forest and your own thoughts often engulfed you, plunging you into a daydream. nevertheless, you noticed the sudden rustling of leaves.
you turned around, hands holding a berry, trying to identify the source of the noise. you were about to turn around, dismissing the sound as wind, when something really convinced you not to.
the fruit dropped from your hands.
“neteyam?” you were in utter and complete shock. finally, you reacted “oh, thank eywa”
you ran to his side, arms embracing you, like they were made for doing so.
“it’s me, baby”
“so how’d everything work out?”
he looked away. you’d guess.
“well, i told you that no matter what you did, i’d be by your side, and i plan to stand by that” you pressed a kiss to his temple.
“forgive me, y/n. i told you i wanted more, but that wasn’t what i had in mind. amidst the corruption, i realised i wanted it like before”
“hey” you cupped his face, pecking his lips before looking into his eyes. every last dash of possible resentment disappeared for good. “i’ll love you till the end of times, remember?”
“yeah” he chuckled, looking back at your first months of pregnancy. “yeah, and believe me, there wasn’t a day where i didn’t think of you two”
his hands moved to trace patterns on your belly.
“‘m sorry, i really am”
“don’t, okay? you’re here now”
“i just missed you so unbelievably much”
“missed you too, mighty warrior. and he did too” you slyly slided mo’at’s most recent diagnosis about your child.

✯ ✯ ✯ ✯ ✯ ✯ ✯ ✯ ✯ ✯
*na’vi translation will be provided*
“Someone seems cheery” Mo’at spoke, upon your arrival to her tent where multiple other women were, either helping injured warriors or practicing their own form of medicine from herbs you originally would use alongside Mo’at. You smiled and greeted her softly, asking her what she meant by her statement.
“Nga tíran nemfa syura txantan na aylahe tsawke” [You walk in, energy brighter than the sun] She rolled her tongue, to which your tail swished slightly, grinning even larger. Understanding what she meant, you practically seemed in a good mood, and more than usual, as if you’ve been spending all morning helping the children in the village, which you’d usually do to start off your day before visiting her (if ewya let you from the late hours you’d wake up).
She just chuckled to herself and saved a seat beside her for you to begin helping her with other warriors and younger women learning the ways and traditions of the tsahik.
Soon after everyone left you stayed afterwards, as always. Already eating another meal and having chats with Mo’at, catching up with one another.
“Have you found someone for the olo’ektyan?” She asked, standing up slowly to begin cleaning the small messes left behind from the previous na’vi inside. You hesitated before answering, not knowing exactly to say. “He’s very difficult, but no I haven’t-“
“No? From the way you’re glowing and the left over evidence of what you two have done are you SURE you haven’t found someone for him?” She laughed, quickly getting a reaction out of you, quickly placing your hands on the side of your neck and collarbone, to which he had left love-bites on.
“We haven’t done anything. He hasn’t done anything, we both remain unmated” You stated, turning your head the other way, not really wanting to get into this type of conversation. “If you do end up mating it must be soon, the clan is in need of a Tsahik, I won’t always be here forever.” She stated sharply, turning to look at you and grabbing a nearby broom, cleaning slowly. “You know better than anyone I’m not prepared to be Tsahik, there are thousands of other na’vi women that could take my place-“
“I’ve raised you for nearly 13 years of your life and taught you all I know, if you aren’t ready now when will you ever be ready?” She asked, quickly cutting you off, you sighed and quickly tied your hair back, beginning to collect the bowls and left over remedies around, knowing she was right. It wasn’t your fault you were scared, you were young and had over 100 years until you’d die from old age and part of you didn’t believe you’d be able to. Maybe you’d let down your clan rather than helping them from the goodness of your heart, you weren’t as strong-hearted and wise as Mo’at, nor as smart and powerful as Jake. Sure you were a skilled shooter, whether with archery or with the earth weapons, Jake himself made sure of that, but fear consumed you. “Maybe it is not the placement of Tsahik you fear, maybe it’s the placement that comes with it..” She pondered, pausing and turning to you, to which you slowly glanced up at her, sighing softly.
“I can serve my people.” You stated, she nodded as if she was waiting for you to repeat those words. “But can you serve your olo’ektyan?” She asked quickly, watching you pause and sit there, your ears lowering slowly as you stood up in front of her, a small pout on your lips. Without a doubt even if you couldn’t always please your people you’d be able to support and help to your best ability, especially in the healing specifics, but things between you and Jake would change, which is something you COULDN’T risk. She finished sweeping and took you into a soft hug, as if she understood the situation you were in and how your mind was. For some reason it’s so much easier to fixate and plan out someone’s life for him on the sidelines, but on the front lines things seemed horrible, especially stress, that was something your simply couldn’t handle.
“You love your people, and you’ve done nothing but love what i’ve taught you and new people that have come into your life, do not be afraid of failure and don’t be afraid of change, be open to i-“
“Is the Tsahik still here? Oe tìkin srung si” [I need help] You heard a hoarse voice ask, quickly de-attaching from Mo’at to turn towards the back and collect a bowl with the herbs and bandages from before, ready to help whoever it was that was injured at the door. “Wha-“ You stopped dead in your tracks, dropping the bandages in your hand and nearly dropping the bowl as well out of shock.
It was, “Za’yukto, you seem as if you were attacked by a Palulukan” Mo’at joked, not realizing the shock that overtook your body. You weren’t sure what shocked you most, the fact that Za’yukto was here or the fact he was here injured so badly after seeing the bandage around his head, the injury you inflicted. You slowly picked up the bandage and tightened your grip on the bowl filled with herbs, making your way over to Mo’at quickly and setting them to her side, where she made Za’yukto sit. “Y/n can you please help with the bruises inflicted on his back?” She asked, it barely even being a question, quickly pushing you to his backside to which you tensed up. Taking a deep breath and exhaling slowly, swallowing your feelings and putting your work first, soon finishing quickly, as Mo’at soon finished afterwards.
You payed close attention to the injuries he had gotten, knowing well he was obviously attacked, but not by any animal, by a person obviously. Thankfully for you both there weren’t any open wounds, just bruises, which you took note on. The entire time he did nothing but place his head down, in a sense of shame you would’ve guessed, making you more curious, when Mo’at had finished with him however and moved away he began apologizing to you numerous amount of times for what he did and what had happened and asked how your injuries were, you only nodded and showed him your injuries, in the process of healing and if anything doing better than his now, not really wanting to spark conversation with him, thankfully he was smart enough to realize that and spent the rest of the moment in silence.
Soon after you finished and Za’yukto departed, Mo’at sent you on your way,, but not without making sure you took her advice to heart.
Most of it did most of it didn’t, knowing she could tell you as much as she wanted but it wouldn’t really truly leave you, you’d have to deal with your own problems alone, whether present or future, and honestly you prayed that time wouldn’t ever come.
⋆⁺₊⋆ ☀︎ ⋆⁺₊⋆ ⋆⁺₊⋆ ☀︎ ⋆⁺₊⋆
You soon arrived back to Jake’s hut, greeting him and smiling. He soon asked how your meeting with Mo’at was, you ignored the question not wanting to get into the previous conversation you had just had with your god-mother, asking him how he was and what had happened after you left, to which he didn’t want to respond to your question as well, leaving you puzzled.
“C’mere” He said, motioning towards his lap, to which you smiled and obliged, sitting promptly. Soon you guys continued your conversation, sharing short laughs and flirts back and forth, until Jake went up to hold your hand to which you saw his hands bruised and his knuckles busted and dry with blood. “What’s this? What happened to you?” You asked, now turned fully to him, searching in his eyes for an answer, which quickly darted away as he licked his bottom lip. “T‘s nothin, I just had an accident” He lied, his eyes still looking away, scanning the room. You frowned, taking his other hand to see the exact same marks and discoloration of his skin, “Why didn’t you ask me to help you! Let me get some-“
“No, it’s fine i’m okay” He said, gesturing he was fine, flexing his hands, balling them into fists, and wiggling his fingers around to show he was okay, which you didn’t believe. “You were fine this morning when I….” You paused.
He was fine when you left, and so was Za’yukto, you completely forgot you both crossed paths before leaving this morning. All of a sudden you come home and he refuses to talk about what happened when you left, and was lying to your face right now. What didn’t help his case was the fact that bruises were found all over Za’yukto and yet Jake remained untouched, the only bruises being on his hands, the same hands that he must’ve used to inflict the wounds on Za’yu. You weren’t wrong with your hypothetical thinking earlier, whatever had harmed Za’yukto was obviously someone, just not who you expected.
You quickly let go of Jake’s hand, standing up slowly and dusting yourself off, “Za’yukto came by to Mo’at’s hut this morning, asking for assistance.” You stated sharply, looking dead at Jake to which he looked up at you then down to his feet, his tail flicking quickly while his ears lowered softly. “He had so many injuries inflicted into his skin I was scared it would’ve battered his soul. Oeng Tsahik keng hangvur fyape hoan te’ekon ni a palulukan” [Our Tsahik even joked how he was attacked by a palulukan] You clicked quickly, watching Jake’s lips shift, pursing slowly. “Did it feel good? Beating on him like th-“
“Don’t do that.” He cut you off, stating harshly and he hunched over a little, his elbows resting on the plump of his thighs, as he looked up at you, now clearly upset. “Don’t do what Jake? Don’t tell you what you did was wrong? Because it was, and I didn’t ask you to do it, you did it on your own account to make you feel better about yourself.” You spat, pointing at him, he stood up abruptly hands on his hips as he huffed. “I’m suprised he was even able to walk into the ten-“
“I did it for you!” He shouted, throwing his hands in a fuss to which you quickly scoffed at. “You missed the part where I told you I didn’t ask you to-“
“Oh for fuck’s sake y/n, you came into my home sobbing and hardly even speaking to me out of fear, you know better than anyone else that I wouldn’t have just let him get away with i-“
“Oh yeah? Well I had it handled, if you were paying close attention he already had a bandage on his head, from my inflicting, as I told you!” You shouted back, slowly taking a step back when hearing his tone. “I’m not some damsel in distress I can protect myself and deal with my own issues, I’ve been doing it long enough.” You said, placing a hand on your hip to see Jake’s irritated expression. You heard him mumble something under his breath, and to which you quickly asked what he said, and for him to say it loud with his chest, thinking it was some sort of insult.
“I did it because I love you, I’m in love with you y/n, I don’t want to see you hurt, you don’t understand how much it hurts me to see you hurt, trust me kid if I knew this would’ve hurt you I never would’ve called him here in the first place.” He confessed, slowly stepping up to you with his hands out, attempting to take his hand into yours, to which you kept back, refusing.
“Was that supposed to get me to jump back into your arms and act like all is normal?” You asked him, upset at his confession, he furrowed his brows at you taken aback. “What’s that supposed to mean? That my love for you is fake? You got some damn nerve talking about how I feel when I don’t even know how you feel, I could be standing hear arguing with you for no goddamn reason, you probably don’t even love me, hell even like me!” He shouted pointing at you, hissing momentarily and baring his fangs, you bit down on your bottom lip softly, staying silent.
You did love Jake, that you were sure of, even Mo’at was sure of it, and you were sure that you’d expressed it in every way possible to him. He wasn’t wrong however, you never really told him, everything just happened so quickly you didn’t know what to do or say, you couldn’t say anything. Your mouth quite literally stayed agape until you kissed him, which you had hoped closed things up, but it obviously didn’t. Being apart of Jake’s everyday life in the future didn’t scare you, you already had played the role well as his assistant and honestly you enjoyed it, but playing the role as the Tsahik? His wife? Completely different, you couldn’t see yourself fitting into the shoes of your adopted mother and especially not the man you loved, you were mortified. All you could do was look at your feet, a huge lump in your throat and tears prickling the corners of your eyes, you tried to open your mouth, only slightly gasping for air, afraid your words would only do more harm, cursing yourself internally.
“Nga yawne lu oer.” You said softly, but loud enough for Jake to hear, pausing before watching as he came closer to you, now standing directly in front of you. “Doesn’t sound like you mean it.” He deadpanned, searching for some sort of anger to trigger, which he did.
“I have had eyes for you since the first day you landed with Toruk into our sanctuary and pleaded your oath to my mother and to Tsu’tey. My heart has yearned for you ever since I laughed at your complaints to her in the healers tent, since the first day I’ve worked for you, since the first time you ever hugged me or caressed me. I love you Tsyeyk Te Suli.” You said harshly, whipping your head up at him and jabbing him in his chest, clearly taken a back by your confession slowly raising his hand to place over yours, the tears now burning your eyes before falling, heating your cheeks up.
“I would give up so much for you, I owe you so much y/n, I am of your creation, patience, time, care, and love. I wouldn’t be the man I am today, I wouldn’t be the ruler I am today if it wasn’t for you, but I cannot do this alone, I need every piece of y-
“I cannot be by your side, I am not fit to be.” You quickly stated, cutting him off briefly, still not looking up to him, to which changed shortly after he placed his hand under your chin, guiding your head up slightly so you could look at him. He had tears in his eyes. “I cannot be the wife you need me to be and I cannot be the Tsahik our people need, those places are meant to be filled, but they cannot be filled by me.” You cried, now watching as Jake’s ears down-poured, and a tear rolled down his cheek, which he didn’t bother wiping away. “You say you cannot be the wife I need when the wife I need is you, you’re all I need y/n. You aren’t alone and you don’t ever have to be, whatever it is that you’re scared of don’t be, I’ve seen how you’ve interacted with the children and elderly here, how much they adorn you and constantly ask for your assistance, you’d make a wonderful Tsahik, you’re mother has preached it millions of times and has honored you as if you’re gold, calls you ewya’s daughter. I will always be here waiting for you, I will not have another woman, I will not settle for anyone else who is not you. I will not rest until I do have you, you are all I want, all I need, all I have, please.” He begged softly, cupping your face to which you cried more, slowly resting your head on his chest, staining his skin with your tears.
“I’m sorry” You mumbled into his chest, to which he smiled softly, your mumbles tickling him slightly, he kissed your now dry hair and massaged your back slowly, nodding and apologizing as well. “It’s a large responsibility you know? I get why you’re scared, but you can’t possibly do a worse job than me.” Jake joked, earning a faint laugh from you which made him chuckle, thankfully lightening the mood.
Soon after you two made up with one another you remained in physical contact, wiping each others tears and holding hands or hugging constantly, blabbering small nonsense to one another about your relationship and your young undying love, what the future held for you and how you would announce everything afterwards towards the clan and Mo’at, not wanting to let the other go. You helped Jake with his knuckles and to which he thanked you, brushing his hands against yours softly, just to interlock them.
“I wanna take you somewhere, it’ll help you get outta all this.” He said, tapping the side of your head lightly, tightening his grasp, you blinked several times before smiling, asking him where. To your surprise he remained discrete, saying it was a secret and he wanted to make up for the argument that erupted earlier, you just obliged. “As long as I don’t die” You kidded, earning a soft hum in response from him as he grinned at you, kissing your forehead, encouraging it would be the complete opposite of that.
⋆⁺₊⋆ ☀︎ ⋆⁺₊⋆ ⋆⁺₊⋆ ☀︎ ⋆⁺₊⋆
Jake soon after had you trailing behind him, his hand interlocked with yours as he guided you through the forest, giving you heads up of whether to jump or duck or turn since he had blindfolded you. Being raised within the forests your whole life didn’t help, unfamiliar of the path he was taking you on all you could do was giggle in response, until coming to an abrupt stop.
“We’re here pretty” He said, indicating you to remove your blindfold, which you did eagerly before looking up, the pink and purple luminescent lights quickly indicating where you were, “Vitraya Ramunong” [The Tree Of Souls] You muttered in disbelief, quickly placing your hand up to your lips to hide your large smile.
It had been so long since you’ve been here, you missed it entirely, the feeling, the melodies, the connections and joy it brought you. You quickly thanked Jake, jumping into his arms giddily, to which he wrapped his arms around you, laughing in response.
“Most of the time when I would go to Mo’at for assistance with Olo’ektyan duties she would send me here, to connect with the past one’s or even the past Toruk Makto’s to create a connection with them and ask for advice, t’s helped me a lot.” He said, quickly dragging his fingers between the tendrils and branches of the tree that hung to the blue mossy floors. You smiled at him intently, doing the same and frolicking around, to which he followed you like a small child. You soon decided to follow his advice, making your way to gently grab one of the tendrils while reaching behind you, gently taking your kuru and bringing it up towards the branch and watching as the tendrils of your kuru make the bond with the tree, gasping softly.
Jake just stood there, watching you in awe, the way your skin glowed underneath the lights, and the small smile on your face. The way in particular of how you held your queue, and how your tendrils practically danced towards the branches, creating an effortless bond, smiling softly and standing beside you, repeating your actions and then exhaling softly.
Mo’at was right, the arguments and obstacles that have been placed between you and Jake were meant to make you stronger, inseparable maybe.
This night would prove that for sure.
