Hi grats on 1k!!!<3 id like to participate in the event too if you don’t mind i choose twisted wonderland
My OG: Riddle has always been the favorite child lol i first learned of what twisted wonderland was through my first matchup result here on tumblr before i knew what twisted wonderland was. The headcanon was so cute and i fell in love with him and his design when i started researching and it led me to falling in love with the game itself too. Obviously I chose his hand first when the game finally came to global and he was on my first home-screen and is still there to this day although there have been times i considered switching with malleus or azul i couldn’t bring myself too lol. He reminds me of a little red angry cat who just needs love 🥺.
About me: huh what do i say lol. well I’m a cis female, pronouns she/her, my mbti is infj, my enneagram type is 2w1, my zodiac is a Capricorn, im african American 5’2 with black wavy/curly hair blackish brown eyes chubby cheeks and hour glass figure.
I would describe me as kind smart funny motherly responsible empathetic anxious emotional moody perfectionist helpful people pleaser caring compassionate nerdy curious protective polite respectful indecisive fearful nervous introvert shy awkward and clumsy. My weaknesses would be low self esteem and lack of confidence.
I like animals books reading writing fantasy magic sci fi anime cartoons music video games friends alone time learning personality quizzes sweets bread and helping people.
I dislike spiders loud sounds people who harm others people i care about not caring for themselves people who don’t consider others not being listened to weird holes and patterns math and tests.
Random facts about me would be that i pace a lot i talk to myself i sing when im alone and im a picky eater i have a pet cat and two sisters.
What kind of tale do i want: i dont know get creative i suppose maybe something fluffy and romantic i dont mind a little angst tho if you want as long as there is a happy ending. Just go nuts and surprise me if you can.
Thank you
(Hi I hope you like this! I was inspired by the fact that you got a match up before even knowing the game 😂 the story practically wrote itself.)
A Tale Where Riddle is Set up on a Blind Date, and it works out Better than Expected
"Trust me, Riddle, she's lit! You're gonna love her!"
"Sure Cater, but I don't have time for your nonsense."
Three weeks now. Three weeks of Cater trying to set him up on a blind date with some girl. He tried to be polite. But Cater wasn't taking the hint. And now Riddle was pretty sure he was about to lose it.
"Look, one date with her. One date and I promise, you'll be head over heels for her!"
Riddle was about to snap, when Trey heaved a heavy sigh.
"Look, Riddle, you know normally I would never enable Cater. But in this case, I think he's right. I think you will genuinely enjoy a date with this girl."
If Trey was saying it, then there must be some truth to the matter.
"Okay, then you tell me, Trey. Who is she?"
Trey winced, "I can't say, you just have to trust me."
"Why can't you say?" Riddle asked with a pout.
"Because blind dates are more fun!"
"Because she didn't even agree until yesterday."
Two very different answers overlapped. Riddle folded his arms across his chest and frowned.
"Riddle, just trust me. If it goes badly you can collar Cater forever, and I won't say a word," Trey said with a smirk.
"Hey!" Cater cried, but Riddle was slowly nodding in agreement.
"Alright then. You said you got her to agree. When is this date?"
Cater winced, and muttered below his breath, "Tonight."
"Tonight!" Riddle shouted. "What if I had said no? How am I supposed to be ready in such a short time?"
"It's okay! I have an outfit picked out for you that I've been waiting to have you try!" Cater said, pushing Riddle in the direction of his room.
Needless to say, Riddle was less than excited to try out the new outfit.
….
Riddle was dressed casually for the first time in his entire life. Black jeans, white Tshirt, red unbuttoned flannel on top of the Tshirt. He had to admit, it was comfortable, but he still felt a little out of place…
He'd been informed that his date would know what he was wearing, and would have a red rose in her hair. So he waited patiently at his table, until he felt a tap on his shoulder.
"Riddle?"
The rose in your hair was lovely. You looked good in red.
Those were his first two thoughts before he realized you were his blind date.
"Prefect? You're…."
"Yeah," you laughed, "I guess so."
You took a seat across from him, and Riddle took a sip of water to hopefully hide his flushed cheeks.
"Can I tell you the truth?" You said sheepishly. "I only agreed to this because Cater accidentally hinted that the blind date was you."
Riddle's face went even redder and he tried to sputter out a good response, but it came out as….
"Beautiful! So pretty!"
You furrowed your brow. "I mean, yeah, you do look pretty in the casual clothes I guess."
"Sevens," he muttered, taking another sip of water and trying not to choke. "You look beautiful."
You stared for a moment. Then you giggled. "Heh, thanks."
There was a heavy silence for a moment, and Riddle decided that if you were honest, he should be too.
"I kept turning Cater down because I didn't think he'd be setting me up with you."
The back of your neck prickled and your gaze dropped to the floor.
"We seem to be in agreement then."
"Yes," he took your hand, and softly rubbed his thumb along your knuckles.
He grinned maliciously.
" Even if we weren't, rule 137 states that if you get set up on a blind date with the queen, you are required to date until the next blind date occurs."
"You made that up!"
"I would never!" He pressed a hand to his chest in mock indignation. "I take my position very seriously."
"Well, rule 76 in my rulebook says that if the queen makes up a rule, then she has to date me until I say otherwise."
You loved his genuine smiles. So when his face radiated like the sun, your heart skipped a beat.
"I guess we're stuck together."
"I guess so."
"Well, I'll make the most of it then," he confidently kissed the back of your hand, like a prince greeting his princess.
….
From the back of the restaurant Cater looks on in mild disappointment.
"I guess they don't need us to serenade them then."
Trey set the microphone down with a relieved laugh.
"Told you so."

Were you named after anybody? Nope. They just liked it. Funny story their coworker was also expecting and wanted to name theirs the same but I came first so they thought it'd be weird to use the same name like 3 weeks later. Needless to say their second daughter has my name
When was the last time you cried? Like a week ago? People at work were really getting under my skin. It's been better since but like. Ugh.
Do you have kids? Lol what? I'm still a kid! (Jk jk. But. Not really)
Do you use sarcasm a lot? Often. Yes.
What sports did you played/ have you played? I was a baseball kid for 8ish years. Miss it tbh
What's the first thing you notice in somebody? Um not to be weird but working in retail some people smell... not good and I just. Idk what it is. But also just general demeanor I like friendly people
Eye colour? Blue
Scary movies or happy endings? Never watch scary movies
Any special talents? Uh not really. Maybe telling what other show I've seen a random actor on when I recognize them in something else. Also math. Enjoy math
Where were you born? Ontario born and raised, babie
What are your hobbies? Literally just tv shows and writing/reading fic rn. I've been known to sketch or colour (adult colouring books my beloved) from time to time but that hasn't happened in ages
Do you have pets? One doofy chubby little kitty
How tall are you? 5'3 🤷♀️
Favourite subject in high school? Math and Drama. Thinking about taking drama but you're nervous? Do it. Genuinely the best decision I made in high school

u hv rm hre. tk abt ur frnd clumsy. i wrt in shrthnd 2 giv u mor rm.
The translating function of this book is barely even working. However, I can figure out that you're asking about Clumsy, who I'll happily tell you about.
What is there to say about Clumsy Smurf?
He's an idiot. He can barely read. Most of the time he doesn't even smurf an effort to read, and just asks me to read things for him. He doesn't get metaphors and is overwhelmingly literal. He's constantly confused about everything and doesn't seem to know anything at all. He's not as stupid as Dopey Smurf, but that's really not a high smurf to reach.
He's certainly clumsy enough to live up to his name. If I wasn't very familiar with all of him, I would take a metaphor literally myself and assume he literally had two left feet, because there's no other logical explanation for how a Smurf can manage to be that clumsy. I'm fairly smurftain I end up with more bruises from Clumsy than I do injuries from the other Smurfs. He's managed to trip over thin air, which shouldn't even be possible. No matter what he's trying to smurf, he'll almost definitely mess it up and probably get somesmurf injured. Or himself injured. He has an unnatural talent for injuring himself, and the other Smurfs don't even try to protect him.
Do you know how many times I've had to lecture Handy about not letting Clumsy near sharp objects? Because even I can't keep track. One of these days Clumsy's going to trip and accidentally kill himself, and it's going to be Handy's fault for smurfing him a saw, or nails, or some other dangerous item, and when that happens I'm not going to be responsible for what I do to Handy next. Sometimes I just want to take Clumsy, stick him in a smurfy and comfortable house, and make him stay there for his own safety. Last time I did that, though, I smurfed that he died, and he smurfed that I didn't want him around anymore, and I had a mental breakdown. So I can't do that again, but I don't know how else to keep him safe.
We've been friends for a very long time. All the way back, since we were smurflings and I decided it was strategically advantageous to befriend him because I hadn't seen him spending time with the mean kids, and two heads are better than one. Needless to say, we've been inseparable since, and it's nearly impossible for me to imagine life without Clumsy by my side. We're nowhere near the Smurfs we were as children- I'm a lot smarter, now, and a lot more confident in myself. Clumsy's a lot less shy, and while the two of us were loners as children (we were sort of "the weird kids." I spent all my time reading instead of socializing, and Clumsy didn't even start talking until after we became friends), now Clumsy is friends with pretty much everysmurf in the village. But he never forgets about me, and always is eager to bring me along on whatever him and his friends are doing, much to the dismay of most of these friends. Clumsy Smurf is the smurfiest thing that's ever happened to me, and I smurf that wholeheartedly.
He's the sweetest, kindest person I've ever met. He likes me, genuinely, and he listens to me and enjoys listening to me. He stays with me because he wants to be with me, even when he doesn't have any obligations to do so. He forgives me when I smurf up- and although I may seem perfect, trust me when I say that I do occasionally smurf up. Very rarely, of course, but when I do, Clumsy understands. He actually asks me for advice, and he tries to help me whenever I need help. I'd willingly choose to have him by my side in almost any situation, despite the fact he would absolutely cause more trouble than he's worth.
He has all these little things about him that are smurfily endearing. Like his rock collection. Every time he gets a new rock, he goes to show it to me. I don't care about rocks, but I do care about Clumsy, and the smile on his face when he's showing me his rocks or talking about his collection is the smurfiest thing in existence. I've done quite a lot of research on geology in order to smurf with him in topics he enjoys. One of the people on the other side of this book once asked me for smurfs of books about geology, and every single one of those books- the ones not written by me, anyhow- was one I read for Clumsy's sake. The ones written by me- Geology For Idiots, Written By A Genius; and Brainy Smurf’s Guide To Metamorphic, Igneous, and Sedimentary Rocks- were respectively a book I wrote as a gift to Clumsy, and a book I wrote in order to catalogue my thoughts on rocks and help him sort the ones that he'd smurfed. Clumsy sings a lot, too, and he has the smurfiest voice. Even when he's just talking, he has the smurfiest voice. He says my name so smurfily I can barely believe he's talking about me.
I've never been able to tell him that I love him. It's been decades now and I still can't manage it. I think he knows. He tells me he loves me, so I certainly know his feelings. We're so close that even I'm not sure whether our relationship is platonic or not, and I know everything, so of course me not knowing something is a big deal. It's fine. We're best friends, and we've never needed to be anything more or less. It does get confusing, because he did dᵃᵗᵉ ᔆᵐᵘʳᶠᵉᵗᵗᵉ ᶠᵒʳ ᵃ ʷʰⁱˡᵉ ᵃⁿᵈ ᵗʰᵉʸ ᵇʳᵒᵏᵉ ᵘᵖ ᵇᵉᶜᵃᵘˢᵉ ˢʰᵉ

Now I’ve been reading other fanfictions from different fandoms, mainly about my favorite villain getting redeemed. I’ve read Harry Potter since first grade and this was the FIRST time I ever realized it had a fandom. I’ve only found one good Delphi fanfic with her getting redeemed, but the ones where she gets an actual loving family to be raised by is fine as well. As for FNAF, I’ve been reading about the new villainess Vannesa in Security Breach and redemption/found family fanfics about her.
I also purchased Land of the Beautiful Dead and will start reading that tomorrow. Have a good night!
On the note of searching for other villain redemptions: my heart broke after Ben Solo's death-by-redemption* and then nek minute V7 was like Seraphina can have liddle a seeded Cindemption, as a treat. That was like not more than two months afterwards and I was like omg is this love? is this real? lol. It was crazy. I still think about Ben...
So when I was a kid my grandmother got me those Enid Blyton boarding school books, I'm sure there's a name for the genre, but they all involved girls-only boarding schools and school hijinks. By the time I read some of HP books, they were just inferior to my eyes because like... Harry was boring compared to the girls in the other books (who were often misbehaved lol), Hogwarts was sort of scary to me when the boarding schools were nicer in my other books, this is boring, oh and the mean teacher in the books I read got like an immediate soft-redemption, whereas Snape was just straight up mean (yes I know what happens with him later, but I'd also write that characterisation of him up to the boarding school genre lol). Anyway I've always had thinly veiled contempt for HP. I don't mind if other people like it. I just don't get it. To my eyes structually it shares much more in common with the boarding school genre than fantasy. Anyway, what else do people expect from my blog, most of my opinions are weird in some sort of way. Lol!! BUT I hope you are having fun reading fic for it. Maybe that was a needless tangent on my part
I also know little about FNAF (I had a friend in high school whose brother was obsessed with it and did have him explain it to me) but it sounds like there's a pattern for you there with the villainesses lol. <3 <3 Cinder's the bestest of all time in my eyes, I struggle to think of very many female villains I like off the top of my head. Most of them happen to be in R/WBY proper (Winter, Raven, Salem) lol.
And oh, brilliant to hear about The Land of the Beautiful Dead!!! I hope you enjoy it! I would like to stipulate: it's much darker than most romance, it's borderline Gothic, and of course there's explicit content in it. If you're like me and love freaky stuff (the more body horror in a sci-fi book the better), it's not a problem but I just want to make sure you know going in lol. I really love it though, acute darkness = acute light. It's some of the best Beauty and the Beast around, well, not some of: the best.
Enjoy reading! Let me know how you go and what you think of it! It's SO much fun seeing other people read it. <3 <3 <3 If you end up not liking it, that's ok too, but honestly I think just on the basis of its commitment to humanising the ostensible villain you may like it anyway.
(* Footnote: I think if you’re going to commit to villain redemption, you do it properly and thematically. Death-by-redemption works in certain circumstances, and in Vader’s case it worked as parental sacrifice/release into proper death (his suit was a coffin)... Ben was a young man and the son of Han Solo and Leia Organa, come on, you can’t kill the young ones like that, it’s not right, and it’s not the right sort of message, I think, to send about compassion and forgiveness. Just die, I guess, and then never do anything transformative??? It’s weird and bad, but then they weren’t trying to say anything meaningful with that film anyway. Say what you will about Ben as a character, whether you like him or his actor, death by redemption is just annoying).

WHAT WILL JIMIN POST ON JK'S BIRTHDAY 2020?
Interesting question. I get why my Askbox is flooded with it. May thirteen was a disappointment. Most Jikookers were looking forward to a reinforcement of a long established Jikook tradition- well everyone except me and a couple others I think. Y'all don't be paying attention. Lol
Jikook are complex beings and like any complex organism they learn to adapt to situations and surroundings. They are predictable in that way but also they are not. It's paradoxical, I know.
If you paid any attention to what was going on from late March through to June you'd have known there was little to no likelihood May 13 was gonna happen.
And if it had happened, it would have taken on a whole new meaning at least to some of us. But hey, 5/8 right? Sure. Jimin smart. We stan a Bigbrain.
Anywho, tomorrow is not about Jimin or Jikook or any ship. It's about JK. It's about celebrating the gift of life that he is. For all the times he's been hated on, this is the only day out of 365 days that we as a fandom get to put our differences aside and come together to show our love and appreciation for him- I hope.
I don't see why Jimin wouldn't do the same for him. Especially since it's been a long established tradition not just for Jikook but for all the members.
They all celebrate eachother's birthday to varying degrees but at the bare minimum they wish each other a happy birthday. That's the norm.
All the other members will wish JK a happy birthday and that includes Jimim. If you understand why people celebrate others birthday you'll understand this is not complicated at all. So it's not a question of will Jimin post tomorrow.
Jimin is a very kind, thoughtful and a loving person. It would be weird of him not to wish his fellow bandmate a happy birthday on his birthday. He would. He should. Rest assured.
But I understand that what y'all are asking me as far as Jikook is concerned and shipping goes is whether Jimin would do something extraordinary for JK this year like he did last year, what he would do and whether he would post about it.
Even though I am certain he will post, I can't tell you what that post is going to be, I'm an alien not Jesus you know?
What I can speculate on is whether or not Jimin would make another grand gesture like that of last year. Which is what this post is going to be about.
The answer to that question is not as simple as yes he would or no he wouldn't. Personally, I expect him to do something a little bit out of the ordinary or coded this year. I'll explain in a bit.
To be clear, I don't expect a repeat of last year or anything of the magnitude of last year at all as much as that would make me uWu so hard. Although... what if he pulls a 360 on us and propose to Jk on his birthday?what? I'm speaking it into existence!
What Jimin did last year was an exception not the norm. You don't fly half way across the world just because. To me that was a grand grand gesture in the history of JK's birthdays and I don't expect a repeat of it unless the circumstances that lead to that moment repeats its self.
The circumstances being that they were broke up and he was trying to fix things. Cough, cough.
JK's birthday last year was an Echo of Manila. A general consensus among Jikookers, is that JK had been mad because Jimin was choosing to spend time with Taemin on the eve of his birthday hence why he had had posted that song knowing full well Jimin would see it as a way to guilt trip Jimin.
If that is right, then Jimin flying over to be with Jk would be a huge statement.
2015 and 2019 are the years that have stood out to me most, birthday wise: Jimin saying he wanted to give JK a kiss on his 18th birthday and him flying from Paris to South K to be with JK on his birthday.
If you've ever heard Jimin talk about money, he is prudent and wise about money. I mean rather than spend millions on a luxury apartment he chose to buy an investment property instead. He is a Libra, I wouldn't expect anything less.
On his vacation trips, he's known to share cost of expenses with the friends he travels with if he's traveling with them. I won't call him frugal though, thoughtful and selective is more like it.
So when he does something of this nature, it's not nothing. He was making a statement period. He was proving something to someone- if you say Army I'll smack the back of your head. Lol
JK. He was proving something to JK. It's always been JK- so help me lord if you say it's Fanservice! It is not. It wasn't for Fanservice.
I've seen people around corners of the internet saying he didn't have to post his Paris video if he was going to go see JK anyway to celebrate with him. That the whole video message thing on Twitter seemed very much private.
I agree with the part about the video seeming private. It seemed personal to me. But it also seemed like the point of that video was to let JK know his location at the time to perhaps throw him off the surprise he had planned for later.
People have argued JM was just pulling a 'prank' on JK with that whole Paris trip to begin with. They were on a hiatus, they had been together prior to JM leaving for France a few days to JK's birthday so it doesn't make sense that they would be broken up at that time period and it doesn't make sense that Jimin will leave for Paris and fly back home only to leave again so it must be a prank.
... Sure. Valid point. However, I don't see Jimin being reckless with money or honestly that shallow. If that was a prank that was an expensive one.
And yes, Jimin didn't have to go on the trip. It wasn't business. It was leisure. I can see how that would be confusing to JK especially when it seemed JM was choosing to spend time with someone, be somewhere else rather than with him on his birthday- yet again. Coughing in Manila.
But sure, I can see how that would be the best 'prank' surprise for JK. Shaking my head. I don't think that was all that was happening with Jikook around that time as I have hinted at several times across my blog posts.
Jikook were broke up around that time, that trip was a grand gesture, Jimin's way to make up with Jk let him know he's learned his lessons. His friends are important but JK comes first. The lightning struck twice for JM and he got a second chance to redeem himself- the definition of GRAND gesture.
If you are a Kpop enthusiast you would also know about the political climate in S.K around that time frame and how it was impacting the Kpop world in general. Certain Boy Bands were under investigation for certain 'offences' I don't want to get into.
On August 11th, one member of such said boy band was arrested- allegedly. I don't know what it had to do with BTS or whether it had anything to do with them at all and I'm not insinuating anything but I just found that impromptu hiatus in August a bit suspicious giving everything else that was going on in S.K.
If 'people' were looking into Kpop boybands then I am certain BTS was on top of that list just because they are the biggest boyband and have been a target of haters for years.
Needless to say, I do not think they were gonna find anything at all on the boys if in deed they had looked but if the boys had a secret- like say two of their members being in the LGBTQ plus community then I assume that secret was bound to be found out?
It is why I believe the boys were asked to lay low in August and that Jikook specifically had been asked by BigHit to tone things down while they navigated the muddy mess of public scrutiny- in my opinion.
I also find it a bit interesting that both of Jikook later that same month and period would be involved in a scandal involving women- But feel free to draw your own conclusions on that however you please. This is just mine: I think that move was straight out of the PR books. Classic Olivia Pope-esque move. Lol
I know some people think it is in the best interest of Jikook to hide their relationship if they are real and that Jikook want to hide their relationship: I disagree.
Just based on my own observation, I don't think they enjoy hiding at all. Especially JK. Well, he did say he didn't want to hide anymore in GCF Saipan didn't he? Can't argue with that.
But also, out of the two, JK is the one who seems the most grounded and sure about their relationship. This is seen best in moments where they've almost been caught. JK's been the least bothered or throw off. Almost as if he doesn't mind if people find out about them.
For instance, when BTS exposed JK for sneaking into Jimin's bed Jimin looked terrified as fuck. He pointed to JK, almost throwing him under the bus but for someone behind the camera asking him to chill, Jimin would have freaked out of his mind.
Then we have that infamous moment when Jimin and JK walked into JK's room and spotted the camera. The look on JM's face said it all. But JK seemed pretty chill about it to me.
Now these moments are relevant because JM was caught unaware. They were both caught off guard and so their reactions were instinctive. By instinct Jimin freaked out which says to me he is afraid to be exposed or outed perhaps because he isn't ready to come out- yet. While JK's reaction on the other says to me he doesn't mind at all if people found out about them which could be because he is ready to come out.
I know what you are thinking and no. That time in the track when they were caught taking photos- JK looked more like he didn't appreciate the invasion of his privacy rather then terrified he was caught. They were on set and so they knew there were cameras roaming around and anyone could stumble on them. They were both consciously self aware of their environment which is why JM was able to make a quick comeback.
I can go on and on about this about this topic but the post is already getting too long.
My point is, Jikook don't like to hide. When you are in love you want the whole world to know. And so often, they fluctuate between wanting to keep their relationship a secret for the sake of their careers and wanting to declare and openly claim eachother.
Keeping their relationship a secret is bound to be stressful on them physically and emotionally. Just because they don't like to be outed don't mean they enjoy hiding.
Their secret is not theirs alone to tell. They have people whose careers depend on them. Their secret is inextricably linked with five other people. People whose careers could end instantly if their secret so much as came out accidentally or even by design.
I don't think either of them is selfish enough to risk that. Not even in the name of love. And this is especially true for Jimin the way I see it. As for JK..... I don't think he gives a shit. Bless him.
This doesn't mean, however, that they don't enjoy teetering the line. It's part of the thrill that fuels their passions- when they get to play at being caught and exposed or just the mere thought they are out smarting the public- fucking exhibitionist!
Jokes aside, I believe there is a sense of comfort and security they get from knowing there are thousands of people out there who enjoy and celebrate their love as openly as they would want to and they live openly vicariously through us.
Our support and acceptance means so much to them. Which is why often you find them reaching out to us.
Being told to lay low even if it's for their own interests would get on their nerves especially for a rebel like JK and Jimin knew this hence why that public display of his affection for Jk on Twitter.
Thus, I do I think JM would make another gesture similar to what he did last year but whatever gesture of he does make one would be unique in it's own way from last year's and would be more of an assurance of his love for JK and a prove to Army that they are fine just because i think they have both been through a lot this year just as he said in the dynamite MV reaction VLive which was rudely sabotaged by Tae.
Jimin seemed like he wanted to have a 'public' moment with JK as explained in my previous post on the Dynamite Reaction Vlive. And given as that moment was interrupted, I expect him to try that again. Whatever message he wanted to deliver it seemed more intended for JK as much as us their supporters.
He has been pretty active on social media lately in the days leading up to JK's birthday. He seems to be gearing up for something. He ain't slick.
So yea, part of me hopes and expect him to do something nice, to make a statement similar to last year's but I cannot ignore also that there's been a lot of eyes and attention on Jikook a lot lately. More so than usual.
Posting something of that nature would single them out and only escalate the situation especially if it is something that makes them both stand out from the others.
For context, I am talking about the heat they recieved as a result of the Dynamite MV. That heat is drenched in homophobia and they and BigHit could care shit about that as I explained in my previous post but you have to understand it can have a negative impact on their mental health.
I mean, NamJoon is constantly being paired with JK a lot lately. It's almost as if he is keeping an eye on Him constantly if you know what I mean. Tae has also been keeping an eye on Jikook, outing Jikook's schemes and shenanigans before they happen like in that Dynamite MV Reaction VLive where he asked JK not to look into the camera during Jimin's solo commentary.
It's understandable. Their interest is as stake too. If Jikook go down, they are going down too. It's daisy.
What I'm saying is, Jikook is being monitored and it would be daring of Jimin to do something as grand for JK openly like that.
But who knows. If it's gonna make JK happy because they've both been through a lot this half of the year then JM would definitely definitely do it. He is defiant like that and he can be a bit of a dare devil when it comes to proving his stance to Jk. He wouldn't hesitate for a second. I love that about him.
Mad respect for him if he does. Mad mad respect for him if he does. But if he doesn't you'd all know why.
In conclusion, I'm saying I'm expecting something more than a happy birthday text from Jimin this year. I'm expecting something more meaningful, deep, coded and uniquely Jikook.
If it happens to be a proposal Ayla you can have all my shmoney! Lol
Signed,
GOLDY

Of Ayahs and Missie Sahibs: Racist? Or simply a product of their time?
In other words: Rereading Frances Hodgson Burnett's works from the perspective of an Indian
From top to bottom:
1. Little Lord Fauntleroy (paperback without illustrations)
2. A Little Princess (paperback without illustrations)
3. The Secret Garden (paperback without illustrations)
4. A Little Princess (hardcover, illustrated in colour by Ethel Franklin Betts)
5. The Secret Garden (paperback, illustrated in colour by Inga Moore) This is a gorgeous edition
6. Little Lord Fauntleroy (harcover, illustrated in colour and B/W by Graham Rust) Beautiful edition, but is out of print
7. A Little Princess (hardcover, illustrated in colour and B/W by Graham Rust) Another lovely edition
Let me begin by telling you that 'The Secret Garden' has been a childhood favourite, so if I say anything against it, 'tis not because I hate it and I want others to dislike it too, quite the opposite. Now that we're done with that, onto business.
I first read 'The Secret Garden' when I was 7 or 8. It was this forest green paperback, printed on thin yellowish paper and tightly bound. There weren't any illustrations and the font was extremely small. Needless to say, it didn't deter me from finishing the book in 2 to 3 hours (I was a fast reader, still am, but only when it comes to reading stories), and because I enjoyed FHB's writing a lot, I decided to look for other books that she had authored, which led me to find 'A Little Princess' and 'Little Lord Fauntleroy'. Both of which I enjoyed quite a lot, although I thought that Fauntleroy was a bit too sweet, not because of his helpful nature, but because of how saccharinely innocent he was portrayed to be, but given that he was 7, I can look past it. A Little Princess was a class apart, I felt that Secret Garden didn't hold a candle to it, Sara was mature, but innocent. Thoughtful, but had a temper. And finally, had a beautifully vast imagination which was the life of the book.
What of the elephant in the room? The Secret Garden starts off in India, Mary Lennox is the daughter of a British officer posted in India and his young and beautiful wife. It's the pre-independence period, and as such, Indians are treated as second class citizens, and such is displayed in the book. Mary calling an Indian woman, 'a daughter of pigs', (Good heavens, that made me cringe so hard. I knew that Mary was the protagonist, but a protagonist without basic human decency? ) Cut to everyone dying of Cholera, Mary's parents, everyone else that lived in that house. Mary is sent to England after this, and that's where the story truly begins. Other than a few racist remarks about Indians, there isn't any mention of them in the book after that. So my question is, instead of being so overtly racist against Indians, couldn't Frances Hodgson Burnett just show that the story took place in British India? And yes, I do know that Mary was a horrible child in the beginning, and her behaviour was supposed to cement that. There were many other ways of showing such, for example, perhaps Burnett could've simply said that Mary flew in cold rages, complemented by an equally bad temper or yelled at the people taking care of her. But I'm not Burnett, so what can I say? Another issue, which bothers me is Mary's character arc, I agree that she helped Colin, and became friends with Dickon and was a better person for that. But Burnett could've also added a scene wherein she feels some sort of guilt or sorrow for how she treated her Indian companions. Instead, we get a scene wherein she talks about an Indian rajah (prince, that is) whose clothing was decorated with pearls and diamonds and other gem stones. Although, the part where she sings Colin to sleep with an Indian lullaby was very very sweet, I really liked that. Frances, my dear, couldn't you have added other similar scenes? :/
'A Little Princess', whose protagonist is the total opposite of Mary. Sara Crewe would've been happy to live in India with her father forever. But he sends her to a school in London, as it was said that Indian weather wasn't good for children (People believed a lot of strange things then, one of them being that skin colour made them superior to the other. Weird.) He sends her there and dies without a penny after 4 years, which leads to the headmistress turning Sara into a servant, and her struggles are depicted beautifully, her pain, her polite defiance, it's all magnificent. Coming back to the point of race, One one of the evenings in the attic that she was banished to live after her father died, as she watched a beautiful sunset, and Indian man with a monkey opens the window right opposite to her room, and the monkey escapes, that's when Sara speaks to him in 'Hindustani' which is most probably Hindi, I mean, how hard is it to know the names of Indian languages when you're writing about a girl that lived in India? But thankfully, there isn't any racism other than that, well, unless you count how Burnett described the Indian Lascar as a poor fellow. But I guess that was just a description of how miserable he felt because of the gloomy british weather, so we'll ignore that.
As for Little Lord Fauntleroy, there is no mention of India at all. Only of the US. The Earl, Cedric's Grandfather is described as a classist, (most probably racist) man who believes that everyone is out after his money. But that's a plot device and a character flaw. I wouldn't say there's any overt racism in this book.
So, what's the conclusion? 'The Little Princess' and 'Little Lord Fauntleroy' are good reads, even in present day, and the minor racism in TLP can be excused as a product of its time. On the other hand, The Secret Garden's first few chapters are overflowing with overt racism, and if children are reading it, they shouldn't be allowed to feel that Mary's actions and words are excusable by any means. That's all I've got to say, CHEERS!
