Okay, yap to me:
One or two two things you love about APH France 👂🏻
I actually love this question because from time to time, I ask myself, like why oh why exactly do I consider aph France my favorite character in hetalia? And as time goes on I've come up with possible explanations such as:
the "Je m'en vais, mais l'état demeurera toujours" episode (I don't know what it is in English :(...it's the one with the soldier who met France) is literally what got me into him. The tenderness, the bright and confidence of leading the country but with just a sprinkle of sadness as being forever and thus forever alone in a way...idk man, that version of France made me feel something every time. I also think that episode shape the core of what a "nation personification" is, which Hima never quite explained until that, which is both beautifully immortal and grief-strikenly unbearable. It was only later that I found out that the quote is from Louis XIV, like damnnnnn mannnnn...that hurts
Also, he can be beautifully charming and handsomely charming. I know I'm not one that only focus on looks alone but damn god Francis Bonnefoy is a beautiful being.
This is pretty cliche but I still wanna put it out here: the concept of "love" being closely associated with France sits well with me. Like yes, we joke about him being pretty much a pervert, but he is capable of all kinds of love--genuine, soft, passionate, family, friendly, etc. This spectrum of delivery make France (and his ships. lol) very appealing.
So a short summary of why I like France: he has universal love for basically everything around him even if there's historical grief and burden on his shoulders, and in the meantime he's also the diva. Very good dynamic that makes me spin in happiness
(rambling off a bit) Of course, I'm also invested in many more French-related stuff, like the French revolution, Versailles period, French musicals and novels. But it's hard to say if it's because my further association with the French culture that prompted me to like France as a character, or vice versa. I prefer to not consider them too closely related tho, because I still want to enjoy these French-related stuff as what they are, not just because "it's from Francis", so there you go :p
#in my description is sounds so nice lmao#nay ngl I also like it when he's a bad asshole#but let's focus on the good side first for the sake of my explanations#hetalia#aph#aph france#ask box pile
