The small creature explores the space with wide eyes, traipsing around the dusty floor with cautious steps. I need to sweep so Isla doesn't have to, Dove thinks. She does so much for me already. I have to be able to do something to give back. I'm just tired. It's hard. It shouldn't be hard, it's just a chore. "So my friend's cat had kittens and she's the runt of the litter but I figure she could still use a good home." The sound of Isla's voice spools Dove's spiraling thoughts. The scruffy kitten darts across the ground, pouncing upon a tangle of frayed, old twine. Isla continues to ramble, "I'm sorry I didn't give you any warning, it just sort of happened and the little thing liked me so much. I can take care of her in the mornings and when I get back from work, maybe she'll even catch some mice, if we have any, that'd be nice. I hope it's okay, and if it's not-" "Isla?" Dove asks, voice feather-light. "Yeah?" "What do you want to call her?" Isla smiles and suppresses a bashful laugh and tucks a strand of her hair behind her ear. "I was thinking Pigeon? Because of her fur color and how it's sticking up all over the place. And that way I would be coming home to a proper aviary, yeah?"

I sent my first two e mails that I wrote, spell checked, printed and sent. I’m excited. Jim played Navaro DVD on the Apple (our first apple computer) I looked up 1896 book—authors- and printed it in color. I attempted to do legal research and court calendar review. Jim tried to send pleadings from his computer to the new one. Jim said the possibilities (with the apple computer) are infinite. So. Just play It’s kind of like trying to learn Spanish. Foreign, odd feeling. So, take little steps.

The Apple computer that we bought I think in February 2007 was my first real venture into using a computer. I dragged my feet on using e mails until Modesto Superior Court Judge Don Shaver told me that I had to! He was pretty terse about it. So, in the above 6/10/2007 entry, I send out my first e mails. 

Now in 2024,  my e mail in box reads 44,828.I am bombarded by e mails!  E mails drowning in a sea of e mails and texts, and voice mails resulting a a relentless, roaring, demanding, quick and easy, cacophony!
