‘one just casually sitting down on the other's lap and they start internally freaking the hell out’ with nico hischier :)

ooh i love this, haven't written for nico in a hot minute

you nodded to whatever your friend was saying, taking a sip of your drink.

it was summer in switzerland, and nico - a childhood friend - had invited some of his friends over for a backyard barbeque, you included.

it was supposed to be a fun evening for all of you to relax and reconnect - and so far, it had been.

"i call that chair," your friend said quickly, sitting on the last empty chair around the fire.

you rolled your eyes with a little smile, but didn't really mind.

"can i sit here?" you asked nico, motioning to the armrest on his chair.

"yeah, yeah sure," he nodded, allowing you to sit on the armrest and continue your conversation with your friend.

the night continued, all of you enjoying the chance to be able to unwind in each other's presence. as the night grew longer, the pain in your bottom seemed to increase as well.

after twenty minutes, you couldn't take it, sliding off the armrest and onto nico's lap.

it wasn't a big deal between you guys. all of your friends sat on each other all the time. with such a large friend group, there were rarely ever enough chairs.

after a split second of hesitation, nico wrapped an arm around your waist to hold you steady.

you ignored the butterflies in your stomach by taking a deep swig of the drink in your hand.

behind you, nico his his face to try and conceal the emotions he was feeling. you were his oldest friend, probably his best friend. and here you were now, sitting in his lap - and he liked it.

he bit his lip, trying not to imagine what if would be like to truly call you his.

if only he knew you were thinking the same thing.

ooh, i love this! gonna go with quinner bcz i feel like i haven't written for him in very long!

"who's that? he's hot," you stage whispered to your best friend.

she rolled her eyes with a smile, your failed attempt at being discreet causing the 'hot guy' to laugh as well.

"oh my god, he's looking this way," you continued in your loud whisper. "don't look at him!"

your best friend tried to hold in her laugh, raising her hands in surrender and turning away quickly.

a tap on your shoulder caused you to turn.

"talking about me, are we?" the hot guy grinned cheekily.

"absolutely not," you pretended to look offended. "we were... i don't remember what we were talking about."

the hot guy tried to hide his amusement, "alright, i take it that's our cue to head on home."

"i'm sorry sir," you held a hand out. "you may be hot, but i have a boyfriend."

your best friend shook her head, laughing as she patted the hot guy's shoulder in sympathy. "yeah, i'll let you handle her for the rest of the night. bye guys!"

"c'mon y/n," the hot guy groaned, trying to help you up. "you're absolutely wasted, and i already know you're gonna have a killer hangover tomorrow."

"hangover or not, i'm loyal to my boyfriend," you insisted.

"i am your boyfriend," the guy said, exasperated. "it's me, quinn. remember? please remember quickly, i wanna go home now."

"quinny," you grinned, finally taking his hand and letting him help you get to your feet. you poked his cheek muttering to yourself, "wow, i have good taste."

maybe it was just the lighting, but you could've sworn he blushed.

"yeah, sure," he mumbled, leading you out and into his car.

he reached over, buckling your seatbelt and kissing your forehead as he pulled away.

"don't fall asleep," he warned. "i'm not carrying you inside."

"yeah sure," you mimicked his voice earlier.

quinn laughed as he settled into his own seat. you leaned back, smiling to yourself as quinn drove you two back home.

you were going to have a killer hangover tomorrow, you knew that. but right now, being with quinn, laughing with him, it was worth everything.
