Incidents in the ether es una pieza desarrollada por Myke Dodge  comisariada por Ruben Coll para la Radio del Museo Reina Sofía.

"Durante miles de años, nuestro pensamiento se basó en la vista. Entonces, súbitamente, llegó la onda eléctrica, lo invisible, como un rayo. De repente, los incidentes en el éter, que hasta entonces habían sido misteriosos y herméticos porque no podíamos verlos, se desataron ante nuestros oídos. Uno de nuestros cinco sentidos está relevando a otro, tenemos que cambiar del ojo al oído" - Christian Gerlich, 1925.

Incidents in the ether es una reflexión sonora de las maneras en las que la innovación de la radio cambió nuestra percepción del espacio en el mundo físico. A través de la radio, no solo es posible recibir sonidos de mucho más allá de nuestra esfera de escucha habitual, sino que esas ondas nos bombardean físicamente en forma de energía electromagnética. La pieza sonora se complementa con un texto a cargo del investigador Andreas Fickers sobre diales de radio, mapas mentales y topografías imaginadas.
