My wife and I's main piece for The Represent Zine by @allsparkzines

We depicted Tarantulas and Prowl as the tricksters Iktomi and Coyote.

Iktomi and Coyote teach us how to behave by reminding us not to follow their own morally reprehensible actions. However, the way they interact is so cheeky and playful, despite the dire consequences that result from their tricks, it always reminds me of these two disasters. I've said before how Tarantulas especially reminds me of Iktomi, as "a skilled architect of life whose morality is solely focused on himself and his creations." It was amazing to see the fan response to this and it means a lot to get to share it with you all.

I recommend you should watch this amazing animation of an old story of the two's tricks, especially Coyote's, and them getting their comeuppance for haughtiness and selfishness.

So because my wife and I are big gay nerds we've made our own One Piece OCs

Meet Portia Bellows and Ana D Bellows, wives and Co-Captains of The Fruit Fly, ship of The Amanita Pirates. They are very gay and chaotic.

Ana 'The Tempest' D Bellows is the air headed possessor of the Wind Wind fruit, allowing her to control and turn into wind. She uses her powers to disrupt Marine ships, and move their vessel without need of winds

Portia "Soul Thief" Bellows ate the Core-Core Fruit, which allows her to take small portions of people's souls, which turn into different objects based on the person. Her Hat is mushroom shaped and changes type of mushroom based on her mood.

On Easter Sunday 1987, the last known wild California Condor was captured, to be kept in a zoo as part of a captive breeding program in an attempt to save its species from extinction. As part of the process of bringing the wild birds into the zoo, the California Condors were deloused... which most likely caused the extinction of the California Condor Louse, a louse specific to the California Condor that lived upon it in a symbiosis that we will now never fully understand.

In the meanwhile, the captive breeding program has successfully reintroduced the California Condor to the wild, and as of 2023, there are 344 wild condors, plus 217 in zoos. But the California Condor Louse is most likely gone forever. Its loss has increased our awareness of the possibility of conservation-induced extinction, and that, in our quest to save one species, we must be careful not to wind up sacrificing another.
