every once in a while i think about my lukewarm take that "kids who come from priviledged private schools might not need help in college whereas kids from less priviledged schools might, simply because they haven't been given the same tools in life" that got me yelled at in real life for like a whole half hour and i go. huh.

#to be very clear #my take isnt that kids from less priviledged schools aren't just as smart as kids from private school #my take is that in a private school where you're taught college level math in senior year you have an inherent advantage over those who are #taught senior level maths #and that when college assumes you've been taught college level maths before where youve only learned high school level maths #no matter now smart you are #youre going to need help #because youve been handed a rigged hand and help is just putting you on an even plan
