All of my work friends and HPF said they were free the weekend before my birthday so guess who called their stepmom to ask if we could have a gathering instead of the typical awkward family dinner

Yay for doing the scary thing I guess

#once ive processed this I'm going to be vibrating out of my skin with joy and nervous tension dont worry. im happy about this.#even with the terror that no one will actually show up or the theoretical party might be a dud #but we're going to get food and I'll make a blues centric playlist and we'll have fires going and card games #and hopefully at least it wont completely suck. ill probably make some pasta so its not entirely finger food #ill bring weed too so i can smoke . and the rugby ball since the yard is big enough.#my stepmom sounded like she was going to cry lmao i haven't had a bday party a real one since i was maybe 11?#my attempt at a sweet 16 doesnt count cause it got cancelled due to a blizzard and the rescheduled debacle was miserable #and every year i was told by everyone how hard they had to work to be there. even as a kid. and it was always in the earliest weeks of Dec #never around my actual bday yknow i was always a chore to ppl. December kids get it.
