1. Why do you like or dislike this character?

I just really love a Priest archetype (and so did Hugo).

2. Favorite canon thing about this character?

Many things. Despite his heavy-handed symbolism and all the ways that Hugo describes him as being cold, marble-like and severe, there is still this warm and youthful softness to him.. And he’s a little weirdo :o)

I think I’m really interested in the way he represents the necessity of violence in revolution. That he is good, that he is principled, and that he is unwavering in his stance on violence. The way that we see Combeferre, the healer, the “more humane,” having an influence on broadening Enjolras’s views, yet he is still unyielding to Combeferre’s plead against using violence.

8. What's something the fandom does when it comes to this character that you despise?

Many things. I hate seeing him portrayed as reckless, or naive, or mean. Perhaps worst above all else, anyone who tries to convince you that he’s short.
