#my physical bookshelf at this point is very tiny after purging and getting an ereader I don't need an ISBN scanner to catalog my 'library'#and also it's probably a horrible idea at this time (2024) in this place (U.S.A) to have a database on what books you own out there#goddamn jack edwards for putting the idea in my head#i think this is fifty percent of the reason I hate being advertised to--bc I'm stupidly susceptible to fall for it all#also I have a Scanmarker USB I've been playing around with that allegedly can read barcodes but that function hasn't worked for me#honestly THAT was a stupid purchase too but I was trying to work on a project for my friend using it but that project has since been aborte#it was a hundred dollars and luckily I got it as a christmas gift last year after I asked for it but honestly it's so not worth it#i feel we got ripped off#but going back to the point of this post my physical books take up all of three shelves I don't need a catalog to keep track of what I have#and yet I want
