#sometimes when i’m birdwatching#things that aren’t birds#rocket launch#vandenberg#spacex#falcon 9#I've mentioned it before#but photographing rockets#is not unlike photographing birds#in order those 5 images show#my first view of the rocket as it cleared the horizon#first stage ascending#first stage exhaust plume expanding due to reduced atmosphere#stage separation#second stage payload fairing separation#my photos aren't quite as good as spacex's#but given that the second stage was more than 60 miles high#at fairing separation#i think my little birding camera did okay#good little camera
