George sighed as he sank into the soft cushions of his living room couch, finally able to relax after a long day at the track. His phone buzzed in his hand—another meme from Lando, something about who’s the better driver this week. George rolled his eyes and swiped it away. He was tired of the constant comparisons, the endless questions. Every interview felt like another round of “Who’s better at this or that?” Sometimes, he just needed a break from it all.
He opened YouTube, aimlessly scrolling for something different. His eyes landed on a video thumbnail of a table filled with delicious-looking food, and a girl grinning beside it. The title caught his attention: My Guide to the BEST Street Food in Seoul.
“Why not,” George muttered to himself, tapping on the video.
The screen came to life with vibrant shots of Seoul’s bustling street food scene. Y/N was walking through the streets, introducing various foods with a bright, excited energy. George was immediately hooked. There was something about the way she talked—effortless, funny, and completely herself.
She picked up a small snack, inspecting it before taking a bite. "They’re much smaller than the big ones that are filled with roe," she said, holding up the dish with a mischievous smile, "but just because it's small doesn’t mean it ain’t tasty—and that applies to many things." She winked at the camera, making George choke on his water mid-sip.
He sat up straighter, a grin forming on his face. “What did I just stumble into?”
The video continued with her taking massive bites, describing each dish with vivid details that somehow made George’s mouth water, even though he wasn’t usually into food videos. But it wasn’t just the food—it was her personality. She had this way of making everything seem light and fun, as if the whole world was just a giant playground of flavors.
George leaned back, a smile tugging at his lips. For the first time in a while, he wasn’t thinking about racing or interviews. Just food... and her.
Y/N’s POV
The cameras were rolling, capturing every moment as Y/N and Yunjin stood in front of a colorful street food stall. Today’s challenge for Le Sserafim’s YouTube channel was a mix of dares and foodie adventures, and Yunjin was ready to dive in.
“Welcome back, everyone!” Y/N cheered into the camera. “Today, Yunjin and I are taking on the ultimate street food dare. We’ve got some spicy dishes and a few random dares to complete. Ready, Yunjin?”
Yunjin grinned, nervously holding a skewer of spicy tteokbokki. “Ready as I’ll ever be!”
The first dare popped up on Y/N’s phone: Talk about something you’re passionate about while eating something spicy.
Y/N took a large bite of the tteokbokki, her eyes widening at the heat. “Alright, here we go. So, I’ve got this major passion for cars. I’m fascinated by everything from the sleek designs to the roar of the engines. If I weren’t doing food vlogs and idol stuff, I’d probably be somewhere working with cars. I love the speed, the engineering—just the whole vibe of it.”
Yunjin laughed, struggling to keep her composure as the spice hit her. “You and your cars! I’ve seen you talk about them all the time. And speaking of busy, we’ve got a lot to do before our next tour. Packing, rehearsals... it’s going to be a whirlwind.”
Y/N nodded, wiping her forehead. “Yeah, it’s going to be hectic, but it’s worth it. And who knows, maybe I’ll get a chance to drive something amazing before we head out.”
The challenge continued with both of them trying various spicy dishes and completing their dares, their laughter and camaraderie shining through. The video wrapped up with Y/N and Yunjin excitedly discussing their upcoming tour and the busy schedule ahead.

George’s POV
George was sprawled on the couch in his hotel room, catching a break after the Suzuka GP. His phone buzzed with new content, and he opened one of Y/N’s food vlogs out of curiosity. He was halfway through when Yuki Tsunoda burst into the room with a couple of drinks and a big grin.
“Hey, George!” Yuki exclaimed. “Mind if I join you for a bit?”
“Of course not,” George replied, gesturing to the couch. “I was just watching this food vlogger. She’s really something.”
Yuki flopped down next to him and glanced at the screen. His eyes widened as he recognized Y/N. “Wait, is that Y/N? The food vlogger?”
George nodded, still engrossed in the video. “Yeah, she’s got this great style. I didn’t expect her to be so... engaging.”
Yuki’s expression shifted to one of excitement. “You know, I’ve got to tell you something. You might find this interesting.”
George looked up, curious. “Oh? What’s up?”
Yuki leaned in, a mischievous smile on his face. “So, Y/N... she’s actually a member of a famous K-pop group.”
George blinked in surprise. “What? Are you serious?”
Yuki nodded enthusiastically. “Yeah, she’s in Le Sserafim. I didn’t realize you didn’t know. She’s huge worldwide”
George’s eyes widened. “No way. I had no idea. She’s just been this really cool food vlogger to me.”
Yuki chuckled. “Yeah, she’s got this whole other side to her. You should see their music videos. They’re amazing.”
George was intrigued. “You know what, let’s watch some of their stuff.”
Yuki grinned and pulled out his laptop, navigating to Le Sserafim’s music videos. They started with a recent MV, and as the vibrant visuals and catchy beats filled the room, George found himself captivated. Y/N’s stage presence was magnetic, and he was surprised by how much he enjoyed it.
As they moved through the videos, George’s initial surprise turned into admiration. “Wow, I had no idea she was such a star. She’s incredible.”
Yuki nodded. “Yeah, she really is. And she’s so down-to-earth. I think you might be more into her now, huh?”
George laughed, a little embarrassed. “You could say that. She’s definitely caught my attention in a whole new way.”
They spent the next hour watching various clips, George becoming more engrossed in Y/N’s multifaceted talent. By the end of their impromptu viewing session, he was thoroughly impressed and even more intrigued by her.
When the viewing session ended, George picked up his phone and hesitated for a moment before searching for Y/N’s Instagram account. With a smile, he hit the follow button, feeling a newfound connection to the talented and intriguing woman behind the food vlogs.

George POV
George was in the paddock, taking a moment to relax and scroll through Instagram on his phone. The usual buzz of activity surrounded him as teams prepared for the next race, but George was lost in his own world, scrolling through his feed.
He stumbled across a post from Calvin Klein featuring Y/N in their latest campaign. The photos were stunning—Y/N looked absolutely breathtaking , modern outfits. George’s eyes widened in awe as he saw the images of her effortlessly posing and exuding confidence.
Unable to contain his excitement, George let out an involuntary shout. “Oh my—”
A few of the other drivers, including Yuki, glanced over at him, intrigued by his reaction. Yuki’s lips curled into a knowing smile as he watched George’s enthusiastic response. He had seen George’s interest in Y/N grow over time and found the situation amusing.
Yuki chuckled softly, catching George’s eye. “Looks like someone’s having a fanboy moment,” he teased, fully aware of the reason behind George’s excitement.
George barely registered Yuki’s comment. His mind was racing, and Without a moment's hesitation, His excitement grew as he remembered that Calvin Klein had invited him to their upcoming party. This was the perfect opportunity to get involved, especially with the new collection making waves.
He couldn’t wait any longer. George bolted to his manager’s office, bursting through the door with so much energy that his manager nearly jumped out of his chair.
“H-Hey, George!” his manager stammered, wide-eyed, visibly startled by the sudden entrance. “What’s—what’s happening?”
“I just saw the Calvin Klein collection!” George blurted out, barely able to contain himself. “And we need to say yes to that party invite. Now!”
His manager, still trying to gather himself, blinked rapidly, stumbling over his words. “O-O-Okay! Y-Yes, right away! I’ll...I’ll handle it, no problem.”
George’s enthusiasm didn’t waver as he grinned. “Good! Make it happen!”
The Calvin Klein party was buzzing with energy, fashion icons and celebrities filling the room. George, feeling a mix of excitement and nervousness, casually sipped his drink as he scanned the room. But then, he saw her—Y/N, effortlessly stunning, standing near a group of people, laughing and engaging in conversation.
It felt as though time had slowed down. The music faded into the background, the buzz of the party muffled, as his gaze locked onto her. Something about the way she carried herself, the confidence and grace, left him frozen in place. His heart pounded in his chest, and he knew he had to talk to her. Gathering every ounce of courage, he walked over.
“Hi,” George said, voice surprisingly steady despite the excitement coursing through him.
Y/N turned, her eyes meeting his, and for a moment, neither of them spoke. The intensity of their connection hit both of them like a tidal wave. She smiled warmly, and it was as if the world shrunk down to just the two of them.
“Hey, George Russell, right?” Y/N asked, her tone light but with a sparkle of recognition in her eyes.
He grinned, nodding. “Yeah, that’s me. I... uh... saw your Calvin Klein shoot. You absolutely killed it.”
“Thank you!” she laughed softly, clearly flattered. “I’ve actually been getting into Formula 1 recently, so it’s crazy to meet you here.”
His heart skipped a beat. “No way, really? You’ve been watching the races?”
“Yeah,” she said, her eyes lighting up. “It’s fascinating—especially seeing how everything works behind the scenes. The adrenaline, the speed, it’s so intense.”
George felt the connection deepening. They fell into easy conversation, bouncing between their mutual love for fashion, traveling, and fast cars. Every word she spoke made George feel as if he had known her forever. They shared so many of the same interests, and the more they talked, the more captivated he became. Time flew by without them even noticing.
As the party began to wind down, George hesitated for a brief moment but decided to go for it. “I’ve really enjoyed talking with you tonight. Would you—uh, if you’re free, want to come to the Austrian Grand Prix? I think you’d really love it. Maybe I could show you around the paddock?”
Y/N’s eyes lit up, a soft smile playing on her lips. “I’d love that.”

"What a wonderful night @georgerussell63"
After the Calvin Klein party, George and Y/N stayed in touch almost every day. At first, it was casual—sharing memes, discussing travel plans, and talking about their busy schedules.
George and Y/N always seemed to do a quick call between meetings, or FaceTime sessions whenever they could. Most often, Y/N would call him while she was cooking, her love for food shining through in every dish she made.
“Guess what I’m making tonight,” Y/N teased one evening, the sound of pots and pans clinking in the background as her camera showed her busy kitchen.
George leaned back in his chair, a smile tugging at his lips. “Let me guess
something delicious?”
Y/N laughed, giving the camera a little wink. “You know it. But you’ll have to wait and see. Maybe I’ll send you a plate.”
He couldn’t help but admire how much passion she had for cooking. He’d watch as she diced vegetables or stirred sauces, completely in her element. The sight of her in the kitchen, focused and happy, made his heart swell.
Sometimes, he’d even join her. They’d both be in their own kitchens, cooking the same meal during their FaceTime calls. George wasn’t the best cook, but with her guidance, he managed to whip up a few decent dishes.
“You’re doing great,” Y/N would encourage, laughing as he fumbled with a pan. “Maybe next time, you’ll cook for me in person.”
“That’s a deal,” George replied with a grin, his eyes never leaving hers on the screen.
Somewhere along the way, admiration had quietly morphed into something deeper. Something that felt a lot like love.
Tumblr media
George’s POV
The Austrian GP was finally here, and George couldn’t shake the nervous excitement he felt knowing Y/N would be watching him live from the paddock. He had invited her to the race weeks ago, and now it was happening. After arriving at the circuit, George quickly texted her:
George: Hey! You here? I’ll come get you.
A few moments later, he spotted her in the paddock, looking effortlessly chic in her Mercedes team pass, smiling when she saw him. He guided her through the chaos of the paddock and into the serene comfort of the Mercedes hospitality suite.
“Welcome to my world,” George said with a grin.
Y/N beamed back. “This is insane! Everything looks so different in person.”
They spent the pre-race together, George showing her around, explaining the details of what went on behind the scenes, and making sure she was comfortable.
“Good luck out there,” Y/N whispered, as he headed to his car. She didn’t realize how much she truly cared for him until she saw the determination in his eyes. The feelings that had slowly bloomed over the weeks felt undeniably real now.
The lights went out, and the Austrian GP was underway. George drove like a man possessed—each lap faster, smoother, more precise. Y/N watched from the Mercedes suite, her heart pounding with every corner he took. It was a fierce race, with George battling for the top spot. And then, in a thrilling final lap, he overtook his rival, crossing the finish line first.
Cheers erupted around the track, but George’s eyes immediately searched for her. As the podium celebrations began, champagne spraying everywhere, he stood at the top, a wide grin on his face. His gaze never left Y/N. In that moment, he wasn’t just celebrating the win—he was sharing it with her.
Tumblr media
The celebration was in full swing. Music pulsed through the club, and George couldn’t keep his eyes off her—not that he even tried. They had been glued to each other since the moment they stepped inside. With every beat of the music, every sway of her body next to his, George felt the tension between them build.
Y/N was radiant, her energy infectious as they danced together, their movements synced as if they had done this a hundred times before. There were other people around them, fellow drivers, friends, and fans, but to George, the room had blurred into a haze. It was just them. Every laugh, every smile, every brush of her skin against his sent a jolt through him.
At one point, she leaned into his ear to say something, her breath warm against his skin. He couldn’t even remember what she said, just the way her voice made his heart race. They moved together on the dance floor, effortlessly, like they had done this all their lives.
As the night wore on, neither could bear to leave the other’s side. They were locked in this invisible pull, their bodies close, their hands occasionally brushing. It felt like the world outside didn’t exist—just the two of them, wrapped up in the magic of the night.
On their way back to George’s condo, the car ride was quiet, but the air between them buzzed with unspoken words. Y/N glanced at him every now and then, a soft smile playing on her lips, and George couldn’t help but grin back.
As the car pulled up to his place and Y/N reached for the door handle, George, feeling the weight of the moment, decided to take a leap. He cleared his throat and with a small, mischievous grin, said, “Ramyeon meokgo gallae?” in his best, slightly awkward, British-accented Korean.
Y/N froze for a second, her hand pausing on the door, before she burst into laughter. “Did you just
?”
He chuckled, his face warm. “Yeah, I thought I’d give it a try.”
She shook her head, still laughing softly. “You’re adorable.”
The tension that had been building all night finally cracked, and as Y/N smiled at him, George knew that whatever happened next would change everything. She stepped back inside the car, shutting the door behind her, and leaned closer to him, her eyes sparkling.
And from there, the rest was history.

It was like clockwork every week. You come in late, every time, covering your mouth with a cute yawn that has Megumi’s heart beating faster, his cheeks heating up at how adorable you are.
He noted from behind the counter how your curious eyes always roamed the shelves, looking for your next title to read. You only ever cashed out with one or two, seeming to pace yourself from getting too out of control on your to be read pile.
If it were anyone else, he’d obviously prefer someone to buy a lot at a time, it helps his business stay afloat, but with you? He prefers to see you as frequently as possible. The late night visits allow him to regularly admire you from afar.
After weeks of consistent visits, he starts to notice a pattern in your reading that has his pants tightening. You always beeline to the section Tsumiki insisted he add to the store’s stock, saying it would draw in a whole new demographic of customers to his store.
He begrudgingly had to agree with his sister, it was one of his best selling sections. Not that he knew what books were there, he let her handle curating what was currently popular to fill the shelves in that section.
It was only once he noticed you purchasing them that he started getting curious. What could be so good about these anyway?
He remembers picking up the start of a series that you bought over three visits, thinking the topic must be interesting to keep you coming back to purchase the next ones, so he borrowed his stock to read the first one that night.
His eyes darted over the pages in rapid succession, his mouth gradually falling open at the graphic scenes playing out on the page. These scenes were in direct opposition to his original view of you, a cute, innocent woman with a quiet introverted passion for books like him.
He noticed the more he made an effort to talk to you in the following weeks while he was cashing you out, making sure to ask you how you were enjoying your purchases, the darker your cheeks would flush crimson. Eventually, he grew more comfortable with you, bolder even, purposefully asking prodding questions about your selected novels.
“What’s this one about?” He hums, playing at a clueless frown, acting like he hadn’t started reading ahead on popular titles that you hadn’t yet bought. He was fairly certain that this one had a particularly graphic scene in an Uber.
“It’s um
just a romance.” You shrug and seek to fill the silence when he doesn’t immediately respond. “It is about a figure skater and a hockey player. It’s a stereotype but people say that its cute
”
Oh, he knows it's cute. Cute that you think he doesn’t know how nasty it is.
He went along with his night in a daze, picturing you in the positions in all of the books he’s read since last seeing you, not paying attention to the time until he’s looking at a clock that shows he closed 30 minutes ago.
Did you leave while he wasn’t able to admire you walking through his front door? He mentally huffs in disappointment, moving to the door and flicking it closed before shutting off the open sign that faces the sidewalk.
“Excuse me-” You squeak worriedly, holding your arm full of books you intended to buy but you had lost track of time, your mind engrossed in the beginning of the newest book you had picked up. Your voice doesn’t seem to reach him as he spins on his heels and rams straight into you.
Your breath is knocked from you as you stumble backwards, your books knocking from your arms to topple to the floor with a loud crash. You’re ready to join them and smash your face off of the table of books behind you before a pair of hard arms lace around your waist to break your fall.
“Are you okay?” He asks a bit breathlessly, trying to look over your face to see if you’re hurt, but his gaze is continually drawn back to your mouth that’s parted in shock, panting from the fear of falling and still catching up to your current position.
“T-thanks to you.” Your voice croaks, more strained than his as the warmth of his hold on you sinks through your clothing and into your skin. Teeth bite at your lip nervously, glancing nervously at the merchandise you damaged. “I’ll pay for these. I’m sorry for being so careless.”
His arms tighten around your middle as you try to pull away and pick up your mess, another apology on the tip of your tongue for staying past closing dies as a quiet whine is pulled from you. The way his grip digs into you, threatening to bruise with how tight he’s holding you, has your knees giving out and relying on him to keep you upright.
“Something wrong, dear?” He murmurs, leaning his face closer, hovering his lips over yours. “If you tell me I could help you fix it.”
“Can I kiss y-you?” You mumble shyly as you feel your face heat up. You hope that you weren’t reading into this too hard and making a fool out of yourself. This was your favorite book store in the city and you didn’t want to have to find another one.
“I’d let you do more than kiss me, hun.” You can feel the words vibrate in his chest with a growl, making your breath hitch at how quickly he agreed to it. The open invitation for more almost has you pausing, but you push forward despite your anxiety.
You don’t have to lean in far for your lips to touch his in a tentative motion, almost testing if you should be doing this, you’d never had a fall conversation with this man, you’ve only admired him from afar and attempted awkward small talk at check up while trying to avoid describing the content of the books you were buy.
You shiver as he slowly presses his lips to yours, savoring the taste, moaning into you softly when you taste better than he imagined. And out of nowhere it's like a switch flips in him, his mouth pressing into yours with more urgency, swallowing every sweet noise he forces you to make.
One of Megumi’s hands fists into your hair, jumping on the opportunity to shove his tongue into your mouth when your lips part in a gasp, making you grab at the fabric of his shirt.
You return his enthusiasm, pressing your body to mold his and letting your head tip back limply to allow him to devour you. The more he presses into you, attempting to get closer than physically possible, the deeper he pushes you into the store.
The feverish kissing isn’t distracted, even when you collide against a display table of books, the jolt of the collision throwing more books to the floor. The heat rising in you is suffocating, it has your skin crawling to strip your clothing to bare yourself to him. It makes your hands wonder, pushing under his shirt to drag your nails across his skin, desperate to have him make just as much noise as you are.
A deep groan grates from his throat as he pins you against the table for leverage so you can feel the tightness raging in his pants. He wants you to crave him like you do the men in the books your nose is always stuck in. He needs to you to sing for him, to moan like the little slut he knows you are under that facade, but he just can’t get fucking close enough to you and can’t stop.
The groans he rewards you with quickly turn into growls of frustration, the make out session devolving into a flustered, rushed clash of lips and teeth.
“F-fuck- fuck it.” He growls louder and pulls away from you, reaching behind you to rush to swipe the books from the table onto the floor, quickly manhandling your body to force you to lay back on the wooden surface as he pushes his pants down just enough to free his length from its confinement.
“Let me take these off- shit!” You yelp when you already find his hands pushing their way under your skirt to take hold of your hips, tugging you to hover over the edge of the table before you hear the shredding fabric of your panties as they’re tossed carelessly to the floor.
“You wear these little skirts on purpose?” His voice rumbles straight through you, making your center feel painfully empty.
“Mayb-” A scream flies from your mouth, cutting off your response when Megumi shoves himself into you with a grin. His hips clap into yours, ever increasing in speed until the table is scraping marks across the floor of the store as it rocks back and forth.
“You want to live in those nasty little novels so bad don’t you?” He coos, bringing his hand up to wrap around your neck to make sure you’re held in place, completely at his mercy as he drills into you. “How do those pages stack up to the real thing?”
“G-god- s’much better-” You mewl, trying to arch your back into his harsh thrusts that are clapping into your skin at a deafening speed. Your high builds rapidly at the raw feeling off him sliding through your clamping walls, the stretch of him scratching the itch you’ve been chasing with these novels. “C-can you- fucking please - harder!”
Your cries begging to take more of him snaps the last threads of control in him. Megumi’s teeth grit as he leans forward to adjust the angle of his thrusts before he watches your body jolt and skin ripple with the force he’s exerting on your body.
“You feel so much better than my fucking hand.” He says between grunts, keeping your neck pinned to the table, reach between the two of you with his free hand to messily circle your clit. “Fucking cum for me, hun
 You can let it go.”
The extra stimulation has your body tensing before snapping in on itself, tremoring with a hoarse cry when he doesn’t let up, fucking himself into with the soul focus of finishing himself.
“Inside-” You croak, your legs fall around his waist, snaking around him to lock your ankle behind him to make sure he can’t pull out. “Please c-can I have your cum?”
“Oh god-” His cock twitches inside of you at your siren’s call. He shouldn’t, he really fucking shouldn’t but when your cunt feels this good? “Fuck yes baby, you’re gonna take it like a good girl? Let daddy feel good?”
You nod your head vigorously, your eyes watering as they squeeze shut at how harshly he abuses your sensitive center until you’re clamping down on him again, sucking him deep when he presses into you and pumps you full.
“Shit.” He props himself, hovering over you with a dazed look of concern as his chest heaves. “Are you okay? I didn’t hurt you?”
He thinks that your blissed out grin is answer enough.

George Russell: "The paddock is a very high-profile place, and I love expressing my style there"
Interview with L'Officiel
Tumblr media
At 26, the English driver is rejuvenating the podiums of the Mercedes team, while Formula 1 is undergoing its generational transformation. We met this passionate driver with a steely mind and the physique of a young star, ambassador of the Tommy Hilfiger brand.
L’OFFICIEL HOMMES: Legend has it that you dreamed of a Formula 1 podium from a very young age, is that right?
GR: Yes, that’s true. As far back as I can remember, I have always had a great interest and even a passion for motor racing. From the first day I got into a kart as a child, I saw it as my natural habitat! And from the moment I started competing, I have only raced to win.
L'OH: You started karting at the age of 8. How does starting so young impact a racer's mental and physical development?
GR: Starting early is essential for a future Formula 1 racer. It's a fiercely competitive sport. The numbers are against you, but resilience, self-confidence and focus allow you to develop your mental and physical skills quickly, from a young age. And it's also a unique sport in terms of the pace of life. Competing and finishing in championships throughout the year provides valuable experience.
L'OH: Would you say today that reality lives up to your childhood dreams?
GR: Absolutely. Particularly in recent years, during which Formula 1 has experienced a phenomenal increase in popularity, with a fan base never before seen. Seeing these oceans of supporters present at each race on the official calendar is an incredible feeling. And then to find yourself competing alongside the greatest world champions, with such an inspiring Mercedes team, is something I have always dreamed of. However, winning the Formula 1 World Championship remains the ultimate dream, and I will continue to fight for the title.
L'OH: You are part of this new generation of successful drivers, with Charles Leclerc or Max Verstappen. How do you explain this enthusiasm from the public?
GR: As I said, Formula 1 is an extremely inspiring sport, both on and off the track, through its performances but also its lifestyle. The conditions of immersion, interaction, and commitment of fans to the teams and drivers make them extremely popular. This explains, in my opinion, the success that gravitates around it today.
GR: It’s very special. As teammates, we’re fighting together to get the team back on pole position on the grid, and we’ve made great strides in that direction this year. As riders, each of us is consistently focused on being the best, every race. I think it’s fair to say that we’ve had some great results in the most recent ones. I hope to do even better in the next ones.
L’OH: What’s it like to race alongside a legend like Lewis Hamilton?
L'OH: What is the next personal challenge in your career?
GR: In Formula 1 more than in any other sport, if there is no challenge, then there is a problem. It is one of the most intense sports, by nature and by challenge. Everyone, teams and drivers alike, only think about one thing: winning the World Championship. And the competition is fierce. Therefore, and this is my opinion, the current challenge is to seek the opportunity to move forward one place in each race, each weekend, at our own pace. It is far from obvious, but you don't get anything for nothing.
L'OH: How did you become a Tommy Hilfiger brand ambassador ?
GR: Tommy himself is a huge Formula 1 fan, and he's a legend in the paddock! His brand has been a partner of the Mercedes-AMG F1 team since 2019, and he has a knack for merging fashion and motorsport. I also like to put a twist on the classics, and we both immediately clicked when talking about it. I'm now part of the family, as he makes me feel, and my girlfriend Carmen also works alongside him.
L’OH: Tell us about your experience with the brand, what do you like to wear?
GR: Almost every race weekend, I arrive dressed in Tommy Hilfiger. The paddock has become a very publicized, very visible place over time, and I love expressing my style there by wearing the latest pieces, with a soft spot for all those from the “Tommy X Mercedes-AMG F1 X Clarence Ruth” collection. Not forgetting my two must-haves: classic chinos and rugby polo shirts.
L’OH: How would you define your style outside the paddocks?
GR: Contemporary, classic and timeless. Very Tommy Hilfiger!

ALL THINGS CONNECTED | j. flatters chapter one — what's the dream?
Tumblr media
summary: growing up on the set of avatar: the way of water was a dream. your friends had become your family, all except for one. jamie was the one person you always found yourself drawn to, in ways more complex than the title of 'best friends' [1.7k].
pairing: fem!reader x jamie flatters
notes: based on jamie flatters documentary: all things connected. co-stars/friends to lovers. inspired by @cacapeepee. minor mentions of anxiety, foetus jamie.
masterlist ⎾ chapter two
Tumblr media
2016.
THEY MUST HAVE LIKED you right? otherwise you wouldn't be back here again, for a chemistry test no other. yeah.. if they didn't like your audition, you wouldn't be sitting here again. yeah, that was it.
the air had gotten stale while you sat in the green room of some office building, on a floor number way too high with windows bigger than they needed to be.
it was your third time being here. your initial reading, the callback and now a chemistry test.
your agent hadn't given you much more information other than that. you knew you would be meeting the boy that could be playing your love interest, and that was intimidating to any fifteen year old. this was the first time you had ever been called in for a chemistry test for any project, you knew it was because it was a huge franchise, but it didn't make it any less daunting; if anything, it only made you feel worse.
you knew you couldn't sit there alone for too much longer before your anxious thoughts consumed you. everything was feeling wrong, your hair too tight and the plastic chair too uncomfortable. it was just nerves, but they had you on the cusp of trembling in your seat. the feeling of waiting was becoming overwhelming and if you weren't out of this room, you were sure you would-
"y/n l/n?" oh thank god.
you stood up quicker than you wanted to, almost tripping yourself in the process. with a mumbled 'hi', you were told to come into the audition room. when the casting assistant turned away you had to restrain yourself from screaming at yourself. what a fucking day.
you tried to brush it off and take a deep breath before you actually entered the room, your heartbeat was still beating at the same quickens pace regardless.
"hi y/n" your eyes scanned the panel before landing on the man who was speaking to you. james cameron sat at a small table across from where you were standing on your mark, with four other people, all casting directors and assistants.
"hi," faking your confidence was better than showing you didn't have any, "nice to meet you all," you tried to ignore the fact that the man who was responsible for making 'titanic' was a few metres away from you, but it was getting increasingly hard when he was watching your every move.
he hadn't been at your other auditions. trying to take this as another good sign, you swallowed the nerves bubbling in your chest.
"alright," another woman spoke up, "we're just gonna run through your sides from your last audition, and then we'll get started with the chemistry read. sound good?"
you nodded without speaking, silently thanking your agent for telling you to go over your old lines from your first two auditions. she always was right, you just would never tell her.
"okay," james quickly pulled a few pieces of paper from the pile in front of him before looking back up at you, "whenever you're ready,"
you took a few seconds, looking at the ground before starting your scene.
"where are you going?" i asked panicked, my breaths heavy.
one of the casting assistants read the lines in reply, not giving you anything to work with. "no where you need to worry about". the point of reading sides is to see how you work with a monotone scene-partner. they want to see what you can give on your own.
"I know you're going to see them," you reach your arm out, "norm," grabbing nothing and stopping in your tracks. "I know you're going to see jake" you whisper.
"sai'ak I can't talk-"
"take me" you plead.
"you know that-"
"norm, please" you move your arm, showing norm has shrugged off your hold, "please, I need to see him". Moving and using the space around you, you were there, in pandora, with norm.. not in some room with james cameron.
"your parents will never allow it"
"they don't need to know," the urgency in your voice was cut-throat, pained.
"I am not taking you away from your clan, you are the next tsahik." you close your eyes at their words, "I'm not going to be the one held accountable for taking you away from your clan, even for a little while"
"norm, I want to go," you start to feel your throat closing up as tears well in your eyes, "max, please" you whisper.
"I'm sorry kid, but you can't come" you let go of the breath you were holding on to, envisioning them walking away from you.
You hesitate to respond, looking around the room in panic. the reality that you might not get to go with them settling in. "he is all I have," you cry, the first tear fell, then another, and another. "please" you swallow the lump in my throat, "please take me with you".
"alright, thank you" the voice of the casting assistant brings you back and out of the scene. you quickly wipe your tears and make your way back to the mark on the ground.
"now," james looks around the table bringing another piece of paper from his pile, "let's start on the chemistry read.. jamie?"
you had failed to notice the entire time that there was a boy sitting in the corner of the room, a script in his hand. he looked around your age, quite tall and well built. his hair was brown and from far away you could see the blue in his eyes. "jamie is playing neteyam" james told you as you watched him walk over to you.
"nice to meet you," he stuck out his hand for you to shake.. he was british.
"you too," you were too concerned with how the panel thought your scene went to give him a full smile. jamie could tell that you were nervous, he felt your hand shaking slightly when yours met his.
"you alright? he asked quietly as he turned onto his mark.
you hesitated before nodding quickly, "yeah," you whispered, "just freaking out,"
"you'll be right," jamie reassured you softly with the nod of his head, "your last scene was great, you'll smash this."
you felt your chest become a little less tight with his words, "thanks."
"okay, so this scene is very vulnerable for these two. it's set in the start of the film where we really get to see a more child-like side to these two characters, who always have to be the strong, mature ones" james spoke. "it's one of my favourite's honestly," he confessed, "so, we'll go from the top- try and make it feel as natural as possible" he explained to you. nodding in response, you checked your mark before smiling up at jamie.
"whenever you're ready"
"skxawng," you spat at jamie, pulling him closer by his ear. jamie worked with you well, moving his head so you didn't have to actually pull him toward you. he hissed in response.
"that hurts," he winced. jamie hadn't adopted a na'vi accent like you had chosen too. you felt a little insecure about your attempt now that you knew he wasn't doing the same.
"good," you didn't change it though, you kept going with what you thought was right for sai'ak. "that is point," I crossed my arms, backing away from jamie. "what do you think you were doing, huh? you are a spotter neteyam, you don't belong on the ground."
"I know!" he stressed, "but I wasn't going to let un'su go down there alone, you know how he is"
"you cannot keep following your brother into danger," you shook your head, "we're kids! you know that right? we are not warriors, we are children"
Jamie's expression softened, "sai'ak," he sighed reaching out for you.
"no," you shrug him off, "I am tired," you admitted. "I know you have responsibilities, neteyam" you met his eyes, "but, we are just kids. you are not the leader of this clan yet, you do not need to act like it all of the time, yes?"
Jamie's eyes met the floor for a while before meeting yours again. "yes," he nodded, "I am sorry,"
"you do not need to apologise to me," you take a step closer to jamie. before you had the chance to think about it too much, you sigh and rest a hand on Jamie's cheek. he shakes his head whilst looking at the ground, leaning into your touch slightly. "you do not need to a mighty warrior all the time.. you know that?" before jamie could say his line, you cut him off with one that felt right, "you can just be neteyam." you smile at him softly.
jamie exhales through his nose as a laugh, "not everyone sees it that way". you were both completely off script now, but it felt natural, so you kept going.
"I see it that way," you tilted your head with a watery smile, tears glazing over your eyes. "I see.. who are you are, neteyam" jamie looks at you like he knew what you were going to say to him, he takes this and runs with it.
he hesitates before speaking, "I see you, sai'ak."
I laugh softly, taking your hands away from his face. "you must have hit your head very hard," you go back to a line from later on in the script.
"yes," jamie chuckles, "but I know what I am saying,"
you stop in your tracks, jamie towering over you. you look up at him and he holds your gaze. "I see you, ma' neteyam" I whisper. jamie smiles, resting his forehead against yours. you close your eyes, allowing your characters to drink in their moment together.
"alright, thanks guys," you and jamie quickly broke apart from each other, claiming your own space once again. "really good," one of the casting directors nodded, "y/n, thanks so much for coming in. we'll be in touch with you over the next week or so regarding the part," you nodded with a smile.
"thanks so much," you exhaled a big breath, feeling a weight fall from your shoulders now that you had finished. "nice to meet you all," you looked from the panel to jamie, who was smiling at you. he nodded and let out a small 'you too' before you left the room.
"she was good," James kept his eyes on the door, where you had just closed it.
"yeah, I liked that one" one of the women on the panel agreed.
"how did that feel jamie?" James asked him, looking up at the young boy.
"good," he nodded, "really good. she was great"

Kinktober D11: Tracklist - Han Jisung
Navigation
Kinktober 2023 Masterlist
Stray Kids Masterlist
Tumblr media
Pairing:  Han Jisung x Producer! GN Reader
Genre: Smut
Summary: Jisung sends you his completed tracklist at 3am hoping for input, only there was something unexpected on the list instead.
Warnings: Masturbation, audio sex, dirty talk, cursing, switch themes.
Word Count: 1075
Your phone pinging at 3am was not something that was unfamiliar to you considering you worked as a producer, especially since you started to work with 3racha more frequently. Jisung especially messaged you at all sorts of odd hours with files that he had just perfected and wanted your feedback on. Yet, the noise being this relentless was uncommon and with a sigh you rolled over to pick up the phone.
Sungie: Just finished the last of the tracks. Sended them to you in what I think would be the best order. Whenever you get a sec let me know what you think.
* 9 files attached *
You put your phone back down and roll over to get a couple more hours of sleep seeing as how he didn’t need you for anything urgent. Nearly falling asleep until your brain processes a detail. It said nine files were attached, but you and Jisung had only discussed and worked on eight tracks. The thought of this mystery track had you almost entirely awake now, though you still opted to go downstairs and turn on the coffee machine first. After all, if you were going to seriously comprehend his work you needed to be fully mentally coherent. You only grew more inquisitive as you noticed the way the file was named in comparison to the others. Most having been labeled with the tentative titles for the said track. Whereas the ninth and mystery file was only labeled with a date, said date being 23.09.16, the day after you and Jisung had toiled relentlessly through a whole night to perfect the one track.  Still you had to listen to the tracks in order to truly understand what Jisung wanted to express and so it would have to wait for last.
By the time you had gone through the other tracks you were already down a cup of coffee and had notes written to share with Jisung when you saw him later on today.  Deciding to refill your cup before finally curbing the interest that had been clawing away at your insides. Though to say it was not what you were expecting would be an understatement, nearly spitting out your coffee as soon as the first sound came through your phone speaker. A soft moan followed by the sounds of Jisung’s hand working on his cock, wet from what though your imagination could only determine.
“Fuck the things I want to do to Y/N. The way their eyes light up when something goes right is just so cute but it turns me on so fucking much. I was so hard all day yesterday that all I could think about was fucking them until we’re both just a dumb messy puddle. I don’t know how I survived the whole night
 how they didn’t notice.”
Your breath hitches thinking back to that night and how you truly didn’t notice, but the thought of him spending all that time thinking about doing such scandalous things to you made your body feel as though it were on fire now. Feeling ridiculously turned on as he lost himself in broken moans for a few moments, pace quickening before he continued to spew utter filth once more.
“I wonder all the time if they would let me bend them over the desk and make them cum over and over until they can’t anymore. I’d even keep going until I can’t anymore either, but fuck I’d be so disappointed at not being able to look into their eyes as they fall apart. I bet they’d roll back all pretty
 I wonder if
 god
 fuck
I wonder if they would droll feeling my cock inside of them.”
Your head was thrown back at the thought, moaning as you rub your hands down your face. Half considering that perhaps you are dreaming all this up, but you knew that there was no way that was the case right now. You were half tempted to take care of your own needs at this moment, but were afraid that might spoil the fun.
“ Or maybe
 fuck, just maybe
they’re into being in charge. Maybe I’ll be the one bent over the desk reduced to tears
the one that they have begging and begging until I can’t anymore
and fuck if their heavenly voice called me their good boy I think I would cum on the fucking spot.”
You gasped, hearing how that thought seems to turn him on even more, making his moans more gaspy as he only works faster. Quick to bring himself to the edge only a few moments later with shattered moans of your name and soft little promises of being good for you.
“Fuck I don’t know the last time I came that hard. It’s fucking everywhere.” He chuckles to himself before the track stops with the softest whisper of, “I’m so fucking obsessed with them.”
You’re scrambling out of your seat the second it’s over, grabbing your things as quickly as humanly possible and rushing out the door. Knowing that the chances of Jisung having left the studio since sending you those were slim to none and so you found yourself on the way there now. Rushing up the stairs to the door and punching in the familiar code so hard you’re worried you might break some of the buttons. Though once inside you turn the lock making him look at you wide eyed and head tilted in confusion.
“I’m obsessed with you too idiot.” Your words only confuse him further, watching as his eyes widen even more and you find yourself snickering at the sight, “Look at the last track you sent.”
Jisung is quick to grab his phone and open up the messages, face turning red in a matter of seconds, “Oh my god, Y/N! I’m so sorry! Fuck, I didn’t mean too!”
You find yourself actually laughing a little until you take in how his eyes tear up a little in embarrassment, “Relax Sungie, didn’t you hear me? I’m obsessed with you too.”
He sniffles up at you a little misty eyed but calming down slightly, “You are?”
You bite your lip and the sight and nod, “Besides aren’t you curious?”
“Curious about what?” The innocent little puppy-like tilt is back now along with his question and it only makes you smirk as he walks right into your trap.
“About which version of me from your little fantasies is reality.”
If you enjoy my work please keep in mind how much time and effort goes into it and show support through comments and reblogs, or consider buying me a kofi. (Caffeine fuels the chaotic gremlin in me who creates content.)

We Should of Been Alt Ending
Tumblr media
Pairing: Omega fem!reader x Alpha! Natasha
Warnings: 18+ MINORS DNI NSFW Angst. No happy ending for Natasha. Implied black reader but no characteristics ever described.
AN: This is what I originally envisioned for the previous request.
Original request
You were so beautiful. That's all Natasha could think everytime she saw you. Previous to your pressence she'd never even given an omega a second glance the desire to mate assumed to be trained out of her by the red room. But when Sam brought you to the compound one day everything changed. The visit was harmless you were an upcoming nuclear scientist with the dream of one day meeting and working with Bruce Banner and Sam was a cocky man out to claim the title of best cousin ever. You hadn't wasted time being star struck by the compound or the Avengers within walking through the building as if it was any other office. You didn't stop to greet the team only pausing a moment to hypothesize about Jarvis. Natasha's sure if she hadn't needed to deliver a paper to the lab she'd never even laid eyes on you, and what a crime that'd of been. Crossing the threshold she froze momentarily, your pressence not only a surprise but a distraction. Her eyes stuck on you taking in your features, your voice, your smile. Natasha couldn't remember the last time she felt heat in her cheeks or a nervous turn in her stomach. After she approached interrupting your conversation as politely as she could you merely smiled and said hello before turning back to the matter at hand. The warmth in her cheeks turned into a burn and her usually steady hands became clamy. Not long after you left that day Natasha couldn't hide her curiosity finding her way back down to the lab to ask Bruce just who you were exactly. It was a week before Natasha saw you again. You'd returned for Banner's opinions on your project having changed things according to his previous suggestions. You walked out of the elevator like you owned the building passing by the Alpha without even a second glance. Her eyes were glued to you warmth coming on in her cheeks as she watched you pass.
"Nat... Natasha!"
Clint yelled as Natasha's water began to overflowed onto the table in front of her. Snapping out of her trance she cursed under her breath moving to quickly clean up the area. She wants to meet you, needs too. Pacing the common room she the next day she contemplated how to approach you. Wondered what she should and would say in your presence. Would you even want to talk to her? Even give her the time?
"Excuse me."
Your familiar voice made Natasha freeze in her tracks. Her eyes glanced around the empty room before turning towards the noise. You stood there with a soft smile on your lips papers in hand and purse still on your shoulder. Warmth covered her face as she took you in and suddenly she was a nervous wreck.
"Y-yes *ehm* Yes ma'am, how can I help you?"
You smiled a little wider at her.
"No need for the ma'am, my name's (Y/N) I was wondering if I could get your help with something. I need not only a fresh perspective but also a guinea pig of sorts and Dr. Banner referred me to you."
She could kiss Bruce.
"Yes of course, what's the project?"
You laughed lightly visibly surprised by her answer.
"Wow I've never seen someone so eager to help another they don't even know. I honestly expected resistance considering the stories I've heard from my cousin but I'll chock that up to him being the head strong handful he is."
Natasha's blush deepened at how deep her crush is being thrown blatantly in her face.
"I am developing an anti-radiation suit that will absorb natural radiation in the air or body filter out the good and infuse the bad into a sort of blaster for the wearer. Dr. Banner mentioned that the design was something close to your widow bites so I was wondering if you'd take a look?"
While the question was more or less out of her grasp with Bruce and Tony having taken on the majority of her suit and weapon production Natasha still agreed unable to give up this opportunity to get to know you.
"Sure."
Over the next few months Natasha's first time crush grew to pure adoration. You were everything to the Alpha and the only person who didn't seem to know it was you. It was a simple Wednesday morning after lab runs on the suit. Natasha tried out the blaster and pretended to help with the calibration. Gripping her coat tightly due to nerves she turned back to you on her way out.
"Hey (Y/N) I know a great coffee place down the street, would you like to grab a cup with me?"
You looked up from your computer meeting soft eyes.
"I'd hate to take up more of your day than I already have. You go have a great time I promise the suit is almost done then you'll be free of my pestering."
Natasha fought back a grimace at your rejection. Again. Was she doing it wrong? She was sure she'd paid close attention to all of Clints advice.
"Have a great rest of your day then."
With that the red head turned and left retreating to the compound. Once there she immediately sought out Clint not knowing what else to do.
"I just don't get it. Am I asking wrong?"
The older alpha couldn't help the smile and soft chuckle as he watched the younger one pace. Thinking back to his younger days.
"No, a girl like (Y/N) is so caught up in her work she can miss the simple things right in front of her."
"Its true."
Sam tuned in from the kitchen, even he was feeling bad for the alpha.
"I bet (Y/N) doesn't even realize you're into her."
The red head let out a frustrated huff hands gripping her hair. Forget all this advice and subtly. Next week she was going to be blunt with you. While the red head was determined to make your next interaction work your cousin was not inclined to wait as long. The next day Sam strolled into your office unannounced not even knocking on the large door before entering despite the risk.
"And to what do I owe the pleasure?"
You said clearly displeazed with his abrupt entrance.
"I'm here to point out the obvious to the smartest girl I know."
That made you giggle turning to give him your full attention you cross your arms.
"And what might that be?"
"That a certain alpha who works with you once a week as your lab assistant is crushing on you something aweful."
You laughed audibly this time.
"Natasha? You're kidding. She only sees me as a colleague."
"She has asked you out; and I mean this literally, eight times. She asked you out yesterday for crying out loud. How can someone so smart be so oblivious?"
"No she...."
You pause truly thinking back on the moments Natasha'd invited you places. Remembering her nervous posture. Her let down face at your same response. Remembering how everytime your fingers brushed she blushed or how everytime you smiled at her she stared. She'd always been eager to help you with your project even from the beginning. Thinking on it even then she'd been a blushing mess right in front of you. Your eyes widen in sudden realization.
"Finally."
Sam announces as you raise your hand to cover your dropped jaw.
"Oh my gosh."
"Exactly."
Sam said and suddenly you felt a wave of anxiety wash over you.
"I never thought..... How could I of been...... And she always asked......"
You let go of a sigh rubbing your temples before standing abruptly.
"I have to go see her. She's such a sweetheart and I've been unknowingly rejecting her time and time again. I'm such a dope."
"You said it cousin."
You frown punching him in the arm causing him to flinch.
"Hey what the-"
"Just because I said it doesn't mean you agree dumbass."
The two of you continue to bicker like the siblings you basically were the entire ride to the compound. Your walk to the common room is quick asking Jarvis to summon Natasha to the area politely you think of what you should say. You feel heat in your cheeks due to pure embarrassment shaking your head at yourself.
"Hey (Y/N)."
Natasha's surprised voice rings in your ear and you turn and smile at her.
"Hey Natasha. Listen I want to start off by apologizing. For all my knowledge in science I can't seem to match it in social skills. Believe it or not I've been completely oblivious to your advances until just now I truly thought you only saw me as a co-worker but.... if that offer for coffee is still up in the air, I'd love to go out with you."
Natasha's whole face was on fire after your little speech. Unable to form words she quickly nodded before clearing her throat.
"Of course let me grab my coat."
It's only your sixth date when you go into heat. Natasha was the best. Caring, attentive, patient maybe that's what made you go into your heat a week early or maybe it was the ways her muscles flexed as she pulled herself out of the pool infront of you bending over your body to grab a towel from your shared stack causing your eyes to roam while you locked your bottom lip between your teeth but either way telltale signs of your heat began to flood your body. By the following day you'd fully succumbed keeping it to yourself in an attempt not to rush your new alpha you locked youself in your apartment letting your boss know before tossing and turning in your own bed. Natasha was happy no she was extatic, elated, floating. Words couldn't descibe how happy she's been this past month with you. She'd always imagined what it'd be like to have you as her partner but the reality of it was so much better. Pulling up to your lab with a budle of red roses riding the euphoria she's been feeling for days she couldn't believe how excited she was to see you. Smiling softly to herself as she made her way into the building she wasn't allowed to get far stopped quickly by the kind beta at the front desk.
"Ms. Romonoff! I'm sorry Dr. (Y/L/N) isn't in today."
An eyebrow rose on the Alpha but she nodded thanking the beta all the same. You hadn't mentioned you wouldn't be in, you were always in your lab. Beginning to worry she quickly dialed Bruce who luckily answered after only two rings.
"Hello?"
"Do you have a meeting today with (Y/N)?"
"No our meetings are usually Thursday but she actually just called this morning and cancelled this week."
"Thanks."
Now Natasha was panicking. If she'd been using her logical brain she probably would of been able to piece together why you suddenly weren't at work and cancelled on Bruce only this week. But she wasn't, the first person she's cared for on a deeper level since the red room suddenly disappearing only caused huge red flags to pop up in Natasha's mind. Rushing to your apartment that she shouldn't even know the location of she couldn't help the way her leg jumped nervously and how her hands uncomfortablly gripped the steering wheel.
Please be ok. Please be ok.
Natasha wasn't going to let anything happen to you, she couldn't. When she arrived at your apartment she didn't even bother with the flowers ignoring the elevator to take the steps two at a time. She made it to the fourth floor in record time heart bumping and short breaths coming out of her quickly. Drawing her weapon she knocked on the door three times before beginning a count down in her mind.
5....4....3....2....
You cracked open your door slowly, not expecting visitors and honestly not in a state for small talk. Your eyes doubled in size when you saw the red head on the other side while Natasha let go the loudest sigh of relief you've ever heard. Pushing past your door with ease she invites herself in wrapping you in a tight hug that clouded your thoughts entirely.
"I'm so glad your okay. I wanted to surprise you at work but you weren't there and Bruce told me you cancelled this week I thought the worst."
You weren't exactly sure what she meant by that but you didn't care your alpha was here. You took a deep breath in of her scent eyes dialating at the smell. Arms coming up to hold her close hand slipping into her hair. You wanted her, needed her.
"For someone so smart it's hard to believe you couldn't come up with a logical solution as to why me. An omega. Cancelled her plans for a week."
Suddenly Natasha noticed your strong scent in the apartment, your near naked appreance, the whimpers you kept letting go in her ear.
"I didn't say anything because I didn't want to rush this but you came to me anyway alpha."
Red flushed Natasha's cheeks as she began to strain against her pants. For a moment she felt stupid so easily pushed into a state of panic but that moment faded as your nails lightly scratched at her scalp pulling her attention back to you.
"My alpha."
Its was a whisper one you let go into her neck but a trigger for Natasha all the same. She needed you, wanted you, had to have you. You were hers and hers alone.
"My omega."
Natasha whispered back placing her nose against your scent gland as she kickes the door shut behind her. Something primal inside Natasha ached for you, she needed you closer. Her roaming hands gripped at you as yours did the same.
"Alpha. Alpha. Alpha."
You whisper taking in her pressence her feel. You've never had an alpha this close during your heat. Honestly you hadn't even considered this a moment that would happen to you. Never thought you'd find a mate like all your friends and family had.
"Mine."
Was all Natasha could respond. She backed you into your couch not romantic but in your collective states neither of you cared. You aren't sure how either of you stripped but you were aware of the drug like euphoria Natasha's skin on yours was giving you. Your hands couldn't stop moving rubbing, touching, and squeezing at every piece of Natasha you could reach. Natasha returned your touches in kind her soft lips pressing against every part of your body before pressing into your own. The kiss was feverish, needy. The contact was enough to make you moan into her mouth causing her length to harden painfully. Your body began to lift against Natasha's in search of friction.
"More."
You weren't sure what you wanted, what you needed more of. You just knew there was something missing.
"My beautiful little omega."
Natasha whispered against your lips moaning out as she began to run her member through your slick.
"Gonna make you my gorgeous mate, gonna fill you with my pup."
You nodded in eager response, nothing had ever seemed more right than this moment.
"Please."
Natasha begins to enter you slowly. Stretching you out in a way none of your dildos ever have. You moan loudly tightly grabbing the back of the red heads neck and pulling her into a seering kiss one she returns eagerly. The moment is all heat and skin. Natasha's hips pound into you on their own accord. Your eyes roll back signalling your first release but it isn't enough for Natasha. She continues her pace like a woman possessed and before you can comprehend your cumming again almost violently.
"Yes omega just like that."
Natasha takes you in, your gorgeous face, stomach full of her. She's going to make you a mother fill you with her pup. Her mate all hers. You feel the heat before you see her face. Natasha's release pushes you into a third of your own.
"My alpha."
You whisper again.
.......
The days that follow as Natasha falls out of her ruts haze she begins to doubt. Sitting on the quinjet on the way to Siberia she can't help but wonder if she's actually ready for this, even deserves it. She has red in her ledger, alot of it and a few months ago she wouldn't of even considered mating. With anyone. How could she be a mother? How could she be a mate? How could she be what you deserved? The week in the cold did nothing but push her further away from you taking her back to her days in the red room which then took her back to her dark past. She couldn't do this. Not with you, you would never live a full life, constantly on the move never safe never happy. You deserve more, more than Natasha can give you. Three weeks later upon her return you await with others on the landing pad. So excited you can't help but bounce the positive pregnancy test burning a whole in your pocket. You were nervous this was the first time you'd see your alpha since your heat and with big news as well but you shouldn't be she was your alpha. Yours. As the quinjet landed your heartbeat quickened to an alarming pace. You bounced on your toes eyes eagerly searching for the soft ones you'd come to dream of. Instead you were greeted by a different alpha though physically the same her body language was different she looked cut off, not meeting your eye. Her exterior seemed hardened. You approached her cautiously, you'd never been here after a mission not even for Sam but you were sure the emotional tole had to be high.
"Welcome back."
Your soft voice sent pain through Natasha. You being here meant what she was about to do was truly about to happen.
"I..."
"(Y/N) listen....."
In an instant you shut down. You should of known better.
"What happened the other night was a mistake. I was distracted by my rut and..."
You grip the pregnancy test in your pocket so tight you're surprised it doesn't break.
"No need to finish. I get it, I should of known better."
You say before walking off. You kept your head held high refusing to let Natasha see the tears you so badly wanted to let go. Your words only cut Natasha depper than her own already were. What had she just done?
.........
Four Years Later
Natasha tied her long red hair back in a loose ponytail as she walked out of her trailer saying a passing goodbye to her cat. The drive into town was long her dark thoughts able to creep up as the time passed on. Exiting her car she entered the grocery store. The trip being a necessity otherwise she wouldn't of bothered leaving her safe house. She went up and down the isles grabbing canned foods for both her and her cat. Items that were long lasting so that another trip like this wouldn't have to happen for months. As her eyes scanned the cans of beans the excited ramblings of a small girl another isle over caught her attention.
"Mommy mommy, can we get this?"
"Mmmh I don't know baby does this match?"
Natasha's ears perked as she heard the one voice she lost hope of ever hearing again. Quickly pushing her cart foreward she moved to the end of the isle to peek around. Could it really be you? Sure enough there you were a small girl in the cart in front of you as you looked at baby items. You glowed as you spoke to the child your familiar gorgeous smile overtaking your face.
"I think I like this one better."
You say to the girl as you hold up a blue cup.
"But dis ones pink."
You giggle at the girl as she pleads her case.
"Don't you think Isaiah would like blue to match his pacifier?"
"No."
You laugh audibly at that and Natasha feels her heart skip a beat.
"Okay baby, we'll get him the pink one."
As Natasha goes to push her cart foreward if only to talk to you one more time another alpha comes around the corner behind you approaching you with an infant.
"Alright I've brought back my clean baby for my pregnant baby."
You smile at the alpha behind you turning to greet them in a kiss before taking the small boy from the alphas arms.
"Mommy I want to see Isaiah!"
You hum as you come around the cart allowing Natasha to take note of your pregnant belly as you bend to let your toddler see your infant.
"He's so pretty mommy."
You kiss the girls head before nodding in agreement.
"Yes he is."
"What about me Avery am I pretty?"
You laugh at your partners antics as the toddler turns her attention to the alpha.
"No."
You visibly hold back your laugh as you come back around the cart to your alphas side rubbing their back lovingly.
"You're pretty to me love."
Your alphas displeased face quickly morphs into one of content as they meet your lips in a soft kiss.
"Thank you baby."
With that Natasha watches as you turn to leave with the family she could of had and the happiness she wishes she could feel. Wiping tears she didn't deserve to let fall she returns to her own shopping the question of what could of been haunting her today just as it'd done the last four years.

day 4 of @painlandweek !!
day 4 prompt: domestic au
summary
2061. charles and edwin have been together for over seven decades. they've been best friends AND lovers for nearly four decades. their non-lives are good. edwin reads about a certain comet passing close to earth soon, and both are determined to go out and watch it
notes
title from space girl by frances forever
this was inspired by one reblog on tumblr of a post about halley's comet saying the boys both could have seen it when they were alive. i saw it and the idea just came to me and Would Not Leave (it may have just been an excuse to make edwin a bit of a space nerd. apologies i’m projecting my nerdiness onto this traumatised edwardian boy)
also on ao3!!
you know the galaxies of my heart
Forever was such an unfathomable concept. The passage of time was so much different when there was no limit to how long you were going to be around. It also felt different depending on the people you surrounded yourself with. The first thirty-four years Charles and Edwin spent together seemed to have flown by in a flurry of mysteries and laughter. Since they were both dead, there was no visible aging to represent how much time had passed, so they very well could have lost track of what year it was. Then they met Niko and Crystal, and everything slowed down. The two of them had limited time, they aged, they needed to sleep every day. The pace of their afterlives seemed to slow to better match theirs – though it still felt like it passed faster than it had when they were alive, and they didn’t like that. Niko and Crystal’s lives began passing quicker than either of them could prepare for, and by the time it had only felt like a couple of decades for the ghosts, in reality nearly forty years had passed. The girls were older, while the two of them still looked exactly the same as they had the day they had died. They also didn’t like how much change came with the passage of time. The girls didn’t join them every time they had a case now – they couldn’t race around London as quickly as they had been able to in their youth. They were still vital members of the agency, of course, but it was different now. It was like Charles and Edwin were going back in time to their first few decades together whenever they were on a case just the two of them. It was odd, but it was predictably nostalgic.
On the days they didn’t have Niko and Crystal around, and they didn’t have any cases to work on, they would spend their time simply existing together. That had always been so easy for them, and had barely changed when, a while after they met the girls, their relationship had taken a romantic turn. It wasn’t exactly the same – they did much different things in their free time than they had when ‘best mates’ was all they were – but all in all, not much had changed. They’d been comfortable around each other and devoted to one another since the very beginning. The last forty years had just included a lot more physical and emotional intimacy than the thirty that had come before.
It was one of those quiet cosy days. The sight was one that often occurred on days like these, and had done for many decades by now: Edwin lying on the sofa – he could actually fit now, they had invested in a new, larger one since they moved offices back in the 2030s – with a book in one hand, the other in Charles’s hair as he curled up beside him. Charles’s eyes were closed. They couldn’t sleep, but they agreed this, just existing in each other’s space, was rest enough. Edwin was around halfway through the 2061 Night Sky Almanac, currently reading about the many comets that would be visible later in the year. He loved looking up into the night sky, admiring the vastness of the cosmos. It was one of the only things that had barely changed since his time – only now there was much more light pollution, so it was harder to truly see its beauty.
As he turned the page, he gasped softly. Whether for hearing the gasp or for feeling Edwin’s chest rise, Charles opened his eyes.
“You okay, love?”
It had been nearly forty years, and still that nickname managed to send a comforting warmth through Edwin’s body.
“Yes. Just reading this
have you heard of Halley’s comet?”
“Yeah?”
“It only passes within visibility of Earth approximately every 76 years or so, and it’s passing by this year!”
“Oh, brills! When?”
“In a few weeks. Then it will be visible for several weeks after that.”
“We’d better make plans then,” Charles said, kissing Edwin’s cheek.
“You know,” Edwin smiled. “I saw Halley when I was alive.”
“Really?”
“May 1910. I was just ten years old, at the time. My science teacher at St. Hilarion’s was quite an eccentric fellow, was always interested in the stars. He’d taken our class out into the courtyard one night to watch it. Most of the boys merely messed around, of course. They were ten years old at a private boarding school, they didn’t care for comets, they just took it as an excuse to get out of study time. But it always intrigued me. I think I was the only one who saw it in the end, a dot of bright green amongst the stars in the sky. It was beautiful. I spotted it another couple of times through my bedroom window before it passed, too.”
“Woah.”
“Yes, Charles,” Edwin chuckled. “It was very woah.”
“I nearly saw it too.”
“Of course, it would have passed nearby in
 ’86, too, wouldn’t it?”
“Yep. It was one of the school holidays so my friends had organised to go out into one of the fields nearby and camp out – well, a few of their girlfriends had. They’d invited us to go with, but none of the other guys were really that interested. I was though, I thought it was wicked. And although the guys were twats, even at 13, their girlfriends were pretty nice. I was good friends with a couple of them.”
“But you didn’t go in the end?”
“No."
“How come?”
“Why d’you think?” Charles let out a scoff, one Edwin had come to recognise whenever Charles’s father had been mentioned in the past.
“Oh.”
“He would’ve let me go if it was the guys, but ‘cause it was the girls
he really didn’t like me having friends who were girls. I never really got why, ‘cause he was always asking if I had a girlfriend, but now I’m pretty sure it was some homophobic bullshit, he didn’t want me interested in ‘girly’ things. So, he grounded me. Locked my bedroom door from the outside so I couldn’t sneak out. I could pick locks by that point, so I could’ve got out if I wanted, but I was just too scared of him finding out. And since my bedroom was in the basement, I had no windows, so I missed it. And then it was cloudy every night for the rest of the time it was meant to be visible, typical London.”
“I’m sorry your father didn’t let you go.”
“Nah, I got over it. It wasn’t the worst thing he did.”
Edwin knew that too well. He was almost glad he and Paul Rowland had never met before the latter died. Knowing everything he’d done to Charles, to Charles’s mother
he wasn’t sure what he would have done in the presence of that man.
Edwin hugged him tighter.
“Well, we’re going to see it this time. I promise.”
They had closed the agency for the night. Nothing was going to distract them from their plans. Over the last month, the plans had morphed from simply going out to watch the comet to turning it into a proper date. In all fairness, most of what they did together was as close to a ‘proper date’ that the boys could get, whether they planned it that way or not. They couldn’t eat or drink, so their ‘dates’ usually consisted of simply being together, without any talk or worry about the agency or a case. It was their time to simply be in each other’s company.
They’d found the spot they were going to go to. With their office being in the middle of London, they stood little chance of seeing the comet with all the light pollution, so had decided to travel. They were going to go to a field atop a hill in the countryside – one where they had been before whilst on a case. They had some vague knowledge of the area; including a cottage nearby that had a full-length mirror in the hallway.
“Ready?” Charles asked, slinging his backpack over his shoulder and offering his arm to Edwin.
“Ready,” Edwin replied, taking it.
Charles looked him up and down, admiring the boy he loved, the boy he’d seen every inch of over the last several decades, both physically and emotionally. While he had kept his everyday outfit practically the same since the day they had met, tonight Edwin had forgone the bow tie, instead having undone the top few buttons on his shirt, leaving his collarbones on show. He also didn’t have his usual jacket, instead settling only for his sweater vest. His hair was different, too; it wasn’t slicked back like usual, instead falling naturally, his slight curls tucked behind his ears. Whenever they were alone, Charles always found a way to run his hands through it, which always messed up its usual style, so Edwin had begun planning ahead for times like these.
He looked beautiful. Charles told him as such.
“Thank you my dear,” Edwin smiled. “So do you. As always.”
“Oh, shut up.”
“Make me,” Edwin teased.
“As much as I would love to do that, we have a once-in-a-lifetime comet to go and see.”
Edwin resisted the urge to point out that once-in-a-lifetime meant nothing to them since they were dead and had forever, but he was eager to see it tonight and wasn’t entirely keen on having to potentially wait another seventy-six years.
“Point taken,” he sighed, and reached his hand out to the mirror, focusing on their destination. “Right, let’s go.”
They stepped through the mirror together, arms still linked.
The cottage was owned by a living couple, neither of whom could see the dead, so the boys exited the house without any trouble. Charles reached into his backpack and took out a lantern – a lantern, Edwin noted, that was identical to the one he had brought for Charles in the attic the night they met, identical to the lantern Charles had carried through Hell and left there. Edwin smiled at the sentiment, took Charles’s hand, and soon they arrived at their intended comet-watching spot. They’d been there to stargaze a couple of times since the case that made them aware of the area, but this time it was even more special.
Charles crouched on the ground, taking the bag off his back and opening it.
“You know,” Edwin chuckled. “You really didn’t have to bring the blanket. Or the pillows. We won’t be able to feel the difference.”
“It’s about the principle, mate.”
Only Charles Rowland would be able to turn ‘mate’ into a romantic nickname, and keep it that way for several decades.
‘You’re still my best mate, that’ll never change,’ he had explained the first time Edwin had questioned it after they were officially together – although that felt odd in itself since they’d always been together. But they supposed there hadn’t really been words invented to accurately describe the two of them. ‘Besides, it could also be short for soulmate, y’know.’
Edwin couldn't argue with that.
Charles pulled the blanket out of the backpack – it was a large handmade one, knitted in blue and red with a design in the middle: two traditional cartoon ghosts, one wearing a bow tie and the other with a gold necklace and earring. To no one’s surprise, it had been a gift from Niko back when she had found out it was the boys’ 40-year anniversary of knowing each other. That had meant it had also been 40 years since Charles’s death, but that was never the main reason he remembered that date.
He laid the blanket out on the ground before reaching his arm into the bag again, rummaging around until he found the pillows he packed. He only noticed Edwin’s raised eyebrow and endearing smile when he finally looked up after taking several out.
“What?” Charles asked, arranging the pillows around one side of the blanket.
“Your dedication to our inconsequential comfort really is charming.”
“What can I say? Charming is my middle name,” he grinned, and laid down on the blanket.
“We both know you don’t have a middle name, Charles.”
“Shhh. Come on, sit down.”
Charles shuffled over slightly, expecting Edwin to take the space next to him. Instead, he decided to sit right on top of him, straddling his waist.
“Jeez, alright, give a man some warning would you?” Charles smirked.
“I’m so very sorry,” Edwin said, smirking back, clearly not sorry at all.
Edwin cupped Charles’s face with his hands, leaning down to capture his lips with his own. Charles’s hands were on Edwin’s waist, holding him steady as he kissed back.
“You know love,” he breathed when they parted, keeping their foreheads touching. “You’re gonna struggle to see the sky from up there.”
“Well luckily for us, it’s not quite dark enough to see it yet. Although
” Edwin looked across to the lantern, still switched on and glowing bright yellow an arm’s length away from them. He reached out to grab it, switching it off before returning it to its spot on the grass beside the blanket. “Wouldn’t want interference from any light pollution, would we?”
With that, Charles rejoined their lips, his hands moving under Edwin’s shirt to touch his ribs. Edwin gasped slightly at the touch, breaking the kiss. In that time, Charles moved his own mouth from Edwin’s to his jaw. Edwin tipped his head back slightly and Charles mentally thanked Edwin from an hour ago for leaving those top few shirt buttons undone, moving down to kiss his neck and collarbone.
“Charles
” Edwin said softly, and Charles felt the vibrations against his lips.
Charles moved away slightly, looking up at him.
“Yeah?”
Edwin launched himself forward to kiss him again, catching Charles so off-guard he fell backwards into the pillows. ‘See, comfort,’ he thought, but didn’t have the willpower to say it out loud, or in fact do anything other than kiss back fervently.
“I love you,” Edwin mumbled against his lips, manoeuvring himself so that they lay flush against each other, wrapping his arms around Charles’s waist as they kissed.
“Love you too,” Charles giggled.
They may have been together for nearly forty years, and had a tendency to act like a couple who had been married for even longer, but they were still just teenagers in love at heart. And since they would never age, that would never change.
Eventually, Edwin broke away from the kiss, instead burying his head in the space between Charles’s neck and shoulder, sighing contentedly. Charles tangled a hand in his hair, threading his fingers through the loose curls. Once again, he thanked Edwin’s forward-thinking when he got ready.
They lay there for a while, Edwin occasionally pressing a kiss to the side of Charles’s neck. Charles just stared up at the sky. They had definitely chosen the right night; there wasn’t a cloud in sight. As he cast his eyes over the vast expanse above them, Charles’s eyes adjusted to the darkness, the stars becoming more and more visible as the sky grew darker and darker.
Then, he spotted something.
“Hey, Edwin,” he whispered, removing his hand from Edwin’s hair to his shoulder. “I think I can see it.”
Edwin shuffled off Charles, turning onto his back and lying beside him so he could look up. Sure enough, amongst the tiny lights of the stars, there was one slightly bigger, slightly greener glow, with a slight short tail of the same green fading out to one side.
“That’s it,” Edwin said, joining his and Charles’s hands in the space between them on the blanket. “Beautiful, isn’t it?”
“Yeah,” Charles replied, awestruck. “Although, I expected it to be faster. It barely even looks like it’s moving.”
“Well, remember it is very far away. Even at perihelion, it is still nearly fifty million miles from us.”
“Woah
”
“If I remember correctly,” Edwin explained, “Halley’s average speed when it is this close to Earth is around one hundred and twenty-three thousand miles per hour, which sounds very fast – and is – but at such a distance, it’s barely anything from our perspective.”
“That’s insane.”
“It is, rather. I’m very glad I got to see it again.”
“I’m glad I saw it with you,” said Charles, moving to rest his head on Edwin’s shoulder.
“If it’s not cloudy next week, would you like to come again? It should be visible for a while as long as the weather is forgiving.”
“That’d be brills.”
“We could also ask Niko and Crystal if they’re free. Maybe we could camp out, like you were going to back in ‘86. I know we aren’t exactly your teenage friends but it’s unfair you missed out on that because of your father.”
“We should definitely invite them. And for the record, I’d much rather do this with my three favourite people ever than anyone I was friends with back then,” Charles said, pressing a soft kiss to Edwin’s jaw.
Edwin hummed, kissing the top of Charles’s head in return.
They didn’t return to the office until well after the sun had risen. They would have fallen asleep in each other’s arms if it were possible, but since it wasn’t, they spent the night looking up into the sky. Edwin pointed out constellations he could remember, and Charles came up with new names for the ones he thought sounded stupid.
(“How is that a swan? It’s just an X!”
“Use your imagination, Charles!”
“I dunno if it was just imagination the people who named these were on, Edwin.”)
“They’re beautiful, aren’t they?” Edwin asked after they’d been quiet for several moments, eyes still fixed on the endless expanse above them.
They’d moved now so that Edwin was lying beside Charles with his head on his shoulder, Charles’s hand gently stroking up and down his arm.
“Yeah,” Charles replied, but when Edwin looked up at him, Charles’s eyes weren’t on the stars.
They were on him.
Edwin chuckled softly, turning his head to look up again to hide his blush – which wasn’t really there anyway. Charles just smiled.
The stars reminded Edwin of the two of them. Most of them were probably long-dead, but from this perspective, for people who could see them, they shone so brightly it was as though they were still alive. He also couldn’t help but make the connection between the stars and his own feelings for Charles. They had burned so brightly for so long, and after he’d truly realised what they meant, they only grew brighter still until, in the moment he was most vulnerable, they exploded out of him; a supernova on that staircase on the journey back from Hell. But the difference is: supernovae are star deaths, and that was far from the death of his feelings for his partner. Forty years on from that fateful moment on the stairs, it was as though they glowed brighter than ever before. Charles’s did too, the two of them orbiting around one another closer than they ever had, a binary system that would break all the rules of the universe if it meant they could burn as bright forever.

Stay the Night
Shuri x POC reader
Summary: You’ve been keeping it a secret that Shuri’s been your muse for a lot of your music. When you decide to show her a song you’ve been working on, she starts to piece together who you’ve been writing about.
or
Reader is a musician who stubbornly denies to one of the smartest people on Earth that she isn’t your muse.
Contains: Shy reader, tension, and angst if you really squint. No use of y/n.
Word count: 1.8k
Notes: No, I am not dead! Just burnt out, yk how it is. But I had motivation to write this, so I really hope yall enjoy! Not my best work, but it’s something. And sorry for not being active.
(Also I recommend listening to The Internet while reading just bc that’s what I listened to, hence the title lol)
Tumblr media
Shuri stares at you as you adjust the headphones on her head, hyper aware of the proximity between the two of you. She only nods when you ask if she’s comfortable before the heel of your palm rests on the desk. Your finger hovers over the computer keyboard, reluctant to press play.
“It’s just a draft, so you know, lower your expectations.”
“Just play the song,” she laughs lightly, very much aware that this was a first draft from the numerous times you told her before even handing her your headphones.
You murmur a quick and sheepish, “Okay,” and click the spacebar. Her shoulders bounce, entertained by your apprehensiveness.
You deeply inhale as your heart starts beating faster, in contrast to Shuri who simply bops her head gently to the rhythm, the ball of her foot tapping the wooden floor.
You rarely showed anyone your early drafts, either out of worry in case they disliked what they heard, or if their enjoyment would jinx your chances of actually finishing the track. Yeah, you can be a bit superstitious—that Shuri knows with all the wood-knocking you’ve done around her.
Which is why it was uncharacteristic of you to show Shuri your latest project.
It presented itself as an impulsive, “You wanna hear this new song I’m working on?” and you couldn’t take it back when you were met with an enthusiastic ‘yes’.
Shuri’s brows furrow, the movement of her head much more exaggerated.
“This is good!” She compliments you loudly, tapping on one side of the headphones. You shush her humorously, reminding her of your neighbors and the lack of soundproof foam on your walls. “Sorry,” she chuckles before whispering, “This is good,” again.
It’s mostly dark in the room, the only light source in the room coming from the computer screen. The light reflects on Shuri’s skin, her eyes closed when she isn’t occasionally stealing glances at the side of your face, curious about the words you’ve written; envious of who you’ve written it for, though she’s had hopeful suspicions.
Your eyes stay glued on the screen, too embarrassed to watch the person who was, unbeknownst to her, your muse.
Truthfully, she had been the subject of many of your songs, released and unreleased, since you first fell in love with her. That was two years ago. Perhaps it was the exhaustion from the long day or the present time of night that made the idea of sharing your music more enticing. Or maybe, subconsciously, you had to tell her how you felt without actually telling her.
Shuri hums along to the chorus, naturally catching onto the melody and you scratch your cheek in an attempt to hide your smile. You feel giddy inside at the way her body reacts—just so in-sync like she always is with the rest of your music.
Until the song hits the bridge.
Through your peripheral vision, it’s hard to ignore Shuri’s head movement slowing down to a halt. You catch a proper glimpse of her, only for a second, and oh, no, her face has gone blank. You feel your chest heave and now your brain is spiraling, wondering what the hell is going on in hers.
Shuri looks off, really listening this time. She flicks another glance at you before the last chorus arrives. And when it ends, she removes the headphones at a pace that perturbs you a bit
a lot actually. You’re left uneasy when she holds your headphones on her lap. She hasn’t looked at you and she hasn’t said anything yet.
“I know it’s not great,” you scratch the back of your neck then steal the headphones from her, laying them on the desk. Aimlessly, you fumble with your laptop, laughing nervously to fill the silence. “It’s just a draft. I probably won’t even finish it.”
Shuri’s still not saying anything and, christ, is it bothering you. At this point you’d rather she say it’s downright bad instead of keeping you on edge like this. But eventually she speaks, and when you hear her say your name, you initially feel like you could breathe again because she finally said something. However, that only lasts for a second.
“Is this true?”
Your finger freezes on the mouse. You turn your head in her direction but her gaze doesn’t meet yours. You’re unsure what to say.
“What you wrote
is it true?”
She takes the mouse from you, the feel of her hand leaving tingles on your skin. She clicks back to the beginning of the bridge before removing the headphone jack. Your voice plays on the speaker and suddenly you’re too stunned to remind her of your neighbors.
What exactly did you write? Nothing specific, or so you thought.
Then she pauses the song, an audible click coming from the spacebar, anticipatedly eyeing you.
You shrug as an attempt to seem oblivious. (One might call it ‘gaslighting’.)
“I write little stories for my songs,” you try to play it off. “I mean, I guess some are real, but most of ‘em aren’t, you know?”
“You wrote about our time at the beach.” She states plainly, leaning back against her chair. She’s referring you to the secret beach you snuck her into in your hometown—a beach only so many people know of.
You glance at the notification-free lock screen of your phone on the desk; another excuse not to look her in the eye. “I take inspiration from shit in my own life.”
“And in your last album you wrote about the time we went on that hike together.” She adds. Yikes, you were hoping she wouldn’t notice that.
“We’re lost in the woods,
I’m lost in your eyes.”
Damn your corny attempts at being poetic. You nearly cringe recalling the moment you wrote that.
A year ago you went hiking with Shuri, and you insisted that you didn’t need any technology to navigate your way back home. You figured you’d walk back down the trail you walked up on, until you kept passing the same tree over and over again. Shuri laughed at you the entire time, comforted by the fact that she brought her Kimoyo bead bracelet with her, as you slowly started to freak out despite your refusal to admit you were wrong and maybe a map could’ve been useful.
“I hike all the time.” No, you don’t.
“No, you don’t,” Shuri shakes her head, one side of her lips tilting upwards. She leans forward and grabs the apron of your chair between your legs, rolling you closer to her until her knee hits the edge of your seat and your thighs loosely puzzle together.
The light from the bright red motel sign across the street peaks through each horizontal slit of the blind curtain, and the cool night breeze outside lightly blows through the half-open window, lifting the curtain only a little, red occasionally sneaking under the bottom hem of the window covering.
With the wind entering, the room should feel cool. It’s supposed to be. Yet your cheeks flush and the heat centered around your face tempts you to remove your hoodie because it’s easier to blame a jacket than the girl who’s figured you out.
You reattach your hand back on the mouse, unsure what you’d even do with it, but Shuri’s hand covers yours, your moist palm now stagnant on the object.
“You released a single the year we met,” she says, her voice quieter than before but louder than a whisper. She doesn’t explain further. You remember the party two years ago and you know exactly what you wrote. Who are you to fool one of the most brilliant minds on the planet?
The computer screen dims, allowing you to notice the red illuminating on the back of her hand. You see red highlight the outline of her body and she stares at the red on the edge of your face. Then she looks at your eyes, your lips, then your eyes once again. Shuri slides her palm up to your elbow, her grip neither tight nor loose.
“What are you so afraid of?” asks Shuri.
You had spent so much of your romantic life dejected. Countless dating apps resulting in crappy dates. Or worse: friendships. Too many “The more I get to know you, the more I get friendly vibes from you”. Too many “Honestly, I don’t think I’m ready for this,” when really they realized they actually didn’t like you. Then when you knew someone in your own life who you liked romantically, the feeling—more often than not—wasn’t mutual.
Best case scenario, you remain friends but things are only just a little awkward. Worst case scenario, they insist that things are okay then gradually ghost you.
At this point, you were ready to give up.
“I don’t wanna
” you trail off.
She leans closer and whispers, “What?”
You stare off at anything that isn’t her. “I don’t wanna lose you.”
She leans down and tilts her face up, forcing your eyes to meet hers. She raises her brows. “Because
?”
You tuck your chin and your brows quirk. “Because?”
“I want you to tell me why you’re afraid of losing me,” she places her other hand on your armrest, trapping you, and you start stammering. “Since you do it so well in your songs.”
You can’t get anything out, though she doesn’t look away. You feel stuck, considering the numerous things you could tell her. Alternatively, you sigh. Fuck it.
“I think I’ve told you enough,” you inhale, cupping one hand on her jaw and the other on the back of her neck before you firmly kiss her. Shuri lets out a muffled noise before reciprocating.
And you both think, Finally.
Her body starts to sway backwards as you press against her, however she pushes you back against your chair. Her hands grab the sides of your face—one hand under your hood and the other over—refusing to let go now that she’s on her feet. Her upper body bends down just so her lips can live on yours, and a chuckle escapes both of you when your chair rolls backwards, almost hitting the wall behind you.
Admittedly, you enjoy sitting as she envelops your lips, but you decide to stand. Your hands slide down to her waist as you slowly walk her backwards until her legs meet the edge of your bed and she ends up landing on her bottom with her elbows supporting her weight as she gazes up at you, several red horizontal lines covering her body.
God, you can’t believe this is happening. You can’t believe Shuri wants you as much as you want her. Everything feels
unreal. Dream-like.
“Come here,” she pulls your wrist and you land on top of her. The bed bounces beneath you as her hand slithers up to your neck, drawing you in for a chaste kiss. She catches you in your thoughts. “You okay?” Is this okay?
You nod, still admiring her below you. You whisper, “I didn’t think you’d
pay attention. To what I wrote. I didn’t know you were listening like that.”
Shuri caresses your neck with her thumb. She takes note of the neon blue light illuminating half of your face from a bar sign also across the street, below the motel sign.
She kisses your cheek, your chin, then your lips once again. “I’ll always listen to you.”

“okay everyone! we’re on a time crunch. we just got word that our rivals are doing pieces on musicians so we’ve decided to assign you an artist for your excerpts and
” madeline’s boss looked down at her notepad. “i have here miss argy for the feature piece.” she announces and everyone congratulates madeline who is super excited.
“holy shit
thank you!” she smiled, beaming at the news.
her boss nodded. “of course! your hard were has truly paid off madz. your feature piece will be on
” she then looked back down to her notepad before pointing out the name. “yn yln!”
as soon as madz heard that name her heart dropped. she felt her mouth go dry. yn. all those unresolved feelings were starting to simmer up each second that passed but she recovered trying to keep her face neutral with a fake smile and nod.
your boss smiled and read from her notepad. “wonderful artist based in new york! ive seen a lot about her and i'm sure you’ll enjoy it! you’ll be responsible for the interviews as well as the cover photo. we have already talked to miss yln about the interview so all you need to do is take notes, take a couple of feature photo shots, and write the piece.”
she gulped nodding before returning to her work which was now turned into tracking yn down and actually having a conversation with her.
meanwhile, when yn got an email from the said office that madeline worked at letting her know what date and time the interview was. it was on a friday over dinner and she was told to dress formally.
the day came and madeline had to reach out to her personally confirming the time for the dinner.
Hi Yn, hope you’re doing well. I will be at Oceana for our reservation at 7:30 PM. It is midtown. A quick search and you won’t miss it. Hope to see you there.
Regards, Madeline Argy.
yn saw the email from the paper that told her about a feature she’d be in so she hurriedly and excitedly clicked on it not prepared for what was about to cover your screen.
holy shit. madeline? she couldn’t believe what she was seeing. her childhood best friend was the one that was going to be interviewing her — writing about her.
she gulped, her mouth suddenly became dry as nervousness settled in her stomach. she thought about all the possibilities but one thought stayed through all of them. what if she hates me?
she felt her eyes sting so she ultimately decided to close her computer shut. if she didn’t look at it the feeling would go away. no
 it didn’t.
she paced around the room. today she was going to see madeline. how would she survive? she thought. it felt like the end of the world but reluctantly when the time came, she got dressed formally and found herself taking her time. she wanted to look her very best before looking at herself in the mirror and heading out the door.
her heels clicked as she made her way inside the restaurant giving madeline’s name to one of the hosts before they guided her to the correct table. she turned a few corners to a more secluded and fancier area of the restaurant before gracing her eyes over madeline’s figure.
yn’s thoughts swarmed. she looked absolutely beautiful. the same yet so different. her hair was longer now and face more flushed than yn remembered. she thought it was her normal but madeline was just incredibly nervous as was she.
yn continued to survey madeline noticing she had the daintiest jewelry on as she scanned the menu trying to distract herself.
yn slowly approached her allowing the host to announce your arrival. “ms. argy? waiting on ms. yln correct?”
she locked eyes with the ground before slowly looking up at you. “um.. yes. thank you.” she smiled politely at him before moving her eyes to yn’s.
for her, it was like time stopped. she admired the way yn slowly changed into who she was meant to be even though it hurt her in the process.
the awkward tension slowly seeped in as yn sat down bidding the host goodbye.
the both of them were quiet for a moment. yn didn’t know whether or not she should speak first. she felt the guilt rise in her chest but decided to speak up. she bit her lip before opening her mouth. “how have you been?”
her voice was soft and cautious. she was afraid to look up but when she did she knew she had a good reason. “how have i been?” madeline repeated, her voice laced with hostility. yn felt small as madeline’s eyes glared at her. “are you fucking serious right now yn?” yn could tell she was mad. not even mad — upset.
even though it’s been a few years since the both of them saw each other, yn remembered everything about her. the both of them knew madeline couldn’t ever hide how she truly felt from yn. well, besides what resided deep within.
yn saw how her eyes started to water and drifted away from her own. she was lost in her thoughts. in that day.
one voicemail from yn
“hi madz um.. dont be upset with me please but i’ve decided to move to new york. i didn’t tell you because um well, i don’t want you to make any decisions based on mine. you know where you’re going in life madz
i dont and thats why im here. i’m here to find out what exactly that is. please, see where im coming from i
i love you. gotta go. talk soon.”
the way her heart shattered. she quickly called yn back with tears pooling in her eyes. the phone rang
and rang. voicemail. she tried again. and again
and again. voicemail. she tried so many times but no answer. yn had ghosted her.
madeline didn’t hear from her ever again, until now. madeline’s lower lip quivered. “i
” she tried to speak but the words only came out like a whisper. she sighed taking a deep breath. “you could’ve at least said goodbye.”
yn pressed her lips together harshly trying to keep herself from crying. “i
im sorry madz.”
madeline immediately shook her head. “no
no you — you can’t call me that.” hearing that nickname again brought her back to all those years ago.
yn clearly saw the distress on madeline’s face so she obliged. “i’m sorry madeline.”
madeline furrowed her eyes looking around the room before speaking once again. “why’d you do it? you never called. a voicemail. that’s all you left. a voicemail yn. no calls no texts. nothing. why?” madeline’s heart was racing as she confronted the situation head-on.
yn took a deep breath. so they were doing this now. finally. “i did it because i felt it was the best for the both of us madeline. i
i had my own personal reasons but that was the main one.”
madeline immediately seemed confused. “wh..what?”
yn looked around the room trying to blink her tears away. “you were always so sure of yourself madz
 madeline. so stable. i wasn’t. i
i felt like i needed to surround myself with a new environment and figure out what i was supposed to do. who i was supposed to be.” yn voice faltered a little before continuing. “i
i didn’t want to hold you back.”
madeline’s scoffed lowly. “didn’t want to hold me back
that? that is your excuse for completely ghosting me?” the tone of anger and hurt laced in her voice was apparent.
“i
” yn had nothing else to say. she knew madeline had every right to be upset but she couldn’t tell her the real reason why she had moved. the raw truth. “can we please just
 do this interview.”
madeline sighed. “unbelievable. so you’re just not going to explain? like at all?”
yn stayed quiet.
madeline’s eyes shed one single tear. “do you even care about how much you hurt me, yn? how you completely shattered my heart?”
yn looked up at madeline seeing the vulnerability she was showing. madeline never used to be this way. “of course, i care madeline. it wasn’t like that.” yn placed a hand on her head feeling the stress get to her.
“then how was it yn? madeline shot back. “a voicemail yn. that shitty voicemail was all i got after years of friendship. years.” her fists were clenched.
yn took a breath in from her nose. “like i said, i thought it would be easier for the both of us. i was thinking about you!”
madeline shook her head. “no. you thought about yourself. it would be easier for you.” she corrected. “you have no idea how hard it was waking up everything to realize you were really gone. thinking that at the end of the day, i didn’t matter to you.”
yn felt like madeline was putting words in her mouth. “you think it was easy for me? i had to leave everything behind madeline — everything.” yn’s eyes started to water. “this town, my family — you. i couldn’t explain it without making it worse
”
yn looked down not wanting to see the disappointment on madeline’s face any longer.
madeline poked her cheek with her tongue. “so you decided to just disappear?” her voice cracked. “you don’t get to decide what’s good or bad for me yn. that’s not fair that you took that choice away from me.” her voice was shaky, madeline hated the vulnerability she was experiencing right now.
“i was scared of everything madeline. scared that if i told you what i was doing you’d talk me out of it. scared that if i didn’t go i would be giving up following me dream and just being who i wanted to be. sacred of
 just
” yn hesitated catching herself quickly. “of everything.” she said shortly.
madeline’s expression softened noticing the end but too focused on what yn said in the beginning. “i’d never hold you back yn. i would’ve supported you through everything. that’s what a best friend does.” her eyebrows furrowed in confusion.
yn bit her lip with a sigh. “i know that now.” she said quietly, her voice laced with guilt and regret. “i was just so wrapped up in my own fears that i couldn’t see how selfish i was. i
i’ve regretted everything since then madeline.”
they both fell silent, the weight of their pain wafting through the air. madeline quickly looked at yn and for a split second, it was like no one else was in the room. she noticed the hurt look on yn’s face and wanted to just wipe it away. she hated that yn felt like this.
the same thing went for yn. she hated how she made madeline feel. that she was the cause of her distress and heartache. she just wanted to fix it — mend it. she’d do anything for her.
“you should’ve trusted me yn. that’s all i’ve ever wanted to do. was to support you and have you trust. especially since we’ve known each other forever.” madeline spilled her thoughts.
yn nodded. “i know im so sorry madeline. i’m so fucking sorry.” yn’s voice sounded genuinely devastated but true.
madeline felt conflicted. she wanted to forgive yn so badly. she couldn’t stand the thought of being away from her and she didn’t know why. “i
i know but you can’t just apologize and think things will go back to the way they were.” she bit her cheek.
yn nodded. “i know and i understand that wholeheartedly but
if you’ll just let me try. please, madeline. let me try to prove to you how sorry i am.”
and that’s what she did.
yn called madeline and texted her every day after that. some of the conversations were due to madeline’s feature about yn but most of the time it was either catching up or talking about random things like they used to.
one day, yn was texting madeline when she had an idea.
to madeline:
come to my show, please. i want you to see my art. all of it is inspired by my true and raw feelings.
madeline thought about it.
from madeline:
okay, i will. it would also be really good for the feature piece.
yn was excited for madeline to see her work but also extremely nervous. most of her pieces displayed her true feelings and she was so afraid that the harder one looked at her art the more likely it would show who she really was.
yn shook it off continuing to get the gallery ready. she put her work in the designated spots so that they all correlated in order while madeline was back at her hotel getting ready.
yn was wearing a double denim with a white button-up under the denim jacket and doc marten shoes to bring it together. she fiddled with the buttons as the gallery opened and she awaited madeline’s arrival.
finally, as she was watching the door, madeline strolled in wearing an all-navy blue outfit with tights and classy loafers. madeline took in the scene. the room was in low lighting with paintings all over the walls. the gallery gave a cozy feeling to it which madeline loved. madeline noticed yn from the corner of her eye but decided to take out her journal and pretend to be busy.
yn took a deep breath and let madeline be. she made herself busy talking to different people about her work never getting too deep. she thanked everyone as they came by to congratulate her. in the midst of all that, madeline couldn’t keep her eyes off yn. she found her eyes drifting from a piece of art, then to yn, then another one, then yn again. her heart beating quickly as she tried to rip her eyes away from the beautiful face as admirers surrounded her.
she began to walk around surveying each piece when one caught her eye. her chest tightened as the picture depicted what looked like rain twisting in a woman. a woman who was huddled in the middle. it was like a storm but in the end, the storm was the woman.
she didn’t like how her chest tightened when she looked at the piece. she was breathing slowly trying to decipher what this meant but came to the conclusion that it meant as it made her feel. her mind immediately went to yn, wondering if this was a depiction of how she felt when she left.
a minute later she felt a tap on her shoulder, “you okay over here?” yn’s expression was worried.
madeline composed herself before nodding. “yeah of course, just taking it all in.”
yn smiled before speaking. “yeah it’s definitely a lot but i’m really glad you’re here.”
madeline paused before speaking. “are you? because sometimes it feels like you’re just tolerating me.”
yn paused confused at the sudden change. “what? of course i am madeline. that not fair.”
madeline scoffed. “oh but it is! you left for five years and you’re acting like everything is perfectly fine. like nothing ever happened. why? is it because you’re a huge artist now and i’m the one that has to write for you?” madeline spoke out of pure impulsivity. she didn’t know why she was saying all these hurtful things but she did.
yn crossed her arms looking around to make sure no one was being nosy. “i told you my reasoning! we talked about it. i’m not trying to act like im better than you? that — i can’t believe you think that.” her heart raced feeling attacked. “you know i didn’t invite you to write for me, okay? it wasn’t my choice. i took the opportunity they offered me. if they had told me you would be writing it i would’ve politely declined and no, not because i’d didn’t want to see you.”
yn was breathless trying to defend herself and explain without sounding too harsh.
madeline’s breathing picked up still caught in the heat of the moment. “yeah? well, that still doesn’t change the fact that you’ve been acting like everything is back to normal. like everything is fine when it’s not. i see through all this. through your paintings. people praise you but i know what these paintings show yn.” yn’s stare faltered as she looked away not wanting to feel vulnerable in that moment. “and the way that you’re refusing to make eye contact with me shows me that there’s more than just leaving because it was ‘better for us’.”
in that moment, yn felt there was nothing more to do then to come clean. to tell madeline how she truly felt and even though her heart was about to beat out of her chest she decided to take a deep breath and just try. “you don’t understand. yes, i left my career for different reasons but the main reasons were because of
 of you.”
madeline froze. “w-what?” her throat closing on itself. she didn’t know what the weight of your words meant just yet but as she saw your eyes move to your lips for a split second, she felt she knew.
yn sighed. “please, let’s just not do this now.” she begged as she looked around paranoid.
madeline shook her head. “no, we’re doing this now. i’ve waited too long. what do you mean you moved because of me yn?”
yn bit her lip feeling conflicted. she was really going to do this. her jaw tightened before relaxing. “i left because
because i thought that i needed to get away from the way i felt about you.” she bit her cheek watching as madeline’s face showed all kinds of emotions.
madeline was confused. “what are you
what are you talking about?” she gulped dryly.
yn looked away not being able to handle madeline’s eyes on her. “i loved you yn. more than a best friend should have.” the tears finally came down. “it
it scared the shit out of me. so i thought if i chose to leave
to move here then i could — i could just forget about it and start over.”
the silence that followed after yn’s confession was deafening. she felt overstimulated with the chatter in the background.
madeline looked around scanning all the other paintings noticing how each piece of art seemed to represent her feelings in some way. she then noticed one particular piece. one of two figures it looked like — two shadows. they were together but like the other one, they looked stuck in the midst of a storm. the only thing holding them back was the rain and barriers of the wind. only one of the shadows looked clear and not connected to the storm. the other one was a part of it.
in that moment madeline felt some type of way. like the weight of yn’s words finally clicked for her and to that her heart jumped. she wasn’t nervous or afraid, she felt
 relieved.
madeline looked back at yn who was trying to hold back more tears from falling. she spoke quietly and softly to her. “you
 loved me?”
“of course i loved you.. i was in love with you.” yn whispered. “i
you don’t have to say anything now. i’ve got to go. will you be here when i come back?” the glimmer of hope in yn’s voice had madeline’s heart jump.
madeline did nothing but nod still trying to process what was said.
later on that evening the gallery finally closed. it was a successful day for yn. she sold a few pieces and got a lot of recognition for her excellent work. she closed up the doors and went to the back where she hoped madeline was.
as she walked through she spotted her looking at one of the paintings. it was one that yn felt was her more vulnerable ones. the raw emotion that she displayed on the canvas was recognized by everyone, especially madeline.
yn didnt notice she was holding her breath until she let it go. the soft sound alerting madeline yn was back. she turned toward her acknowledging her painting. “it’s beautiful.”
yn nodded thanking her quietly. she then spoke up once more, “thank you for staying.”
madeline shifted her stance so that she was fully turned toward yn. “earlier
when you said you left because you loved me
”
yn was quick to interrupt her. “i’m sorry
i shouldn’t have said that. i don’t want to make things harder than they already are.”
madeline stepped forward taking yn’s hands into hers. “hey, no. you can’t take it back. not now, not anymore. i
” she let out a shaky breath before making direct eye contact with you. “i think i loved you too yn.”
yn’s breathing hitched, her eyes searching over madeline’s face. “madeline
 i—”
“this whole time yn. i wasn’t mad because you left
i think — i think i was upset because i lost you.” she looked down furrowing her eyebrows. “i didn’t know what i was feeling but it was like as soon as i would come to terms with it
you had already left. i never knew how to handle it and then you were gone.”
yn stood there letting madeline get her feelings across but as she finished she found herself naturally gravitating toward her. she was so close she practically could feel madeline’s short breaths and body heat come into contact with her skin.
yn squeezed madeline’s hands in hers. “i thought leaving would fix things and erase the feelings i had for you but they didn’t. i’ve never stopped loving you, madz.”
madeline’s breathing stopped. “you don’t get to run this time.” her voice softly cut through the silence.
yn shook her head. “i’m not running.” her voice was just as soft. “not anymore.”
madeline had a slight smile as her hand reached out to rest on yn’s cheek. yn leaned against it loving the soft feeling of her skin on hers. madeline stepped closer as she noticed yn wasn’t planning on stepping back. she took that opportunity to move one step closer closing the distance between them and locking their lips together.
their kiss was slow but so full of all that held up emotion. full of years of unspoken feelings, full of their past memories, of their buried emotions. they came through all at once.
yn’s hands found their way to her face before madeline’s hands grabbed yn’s waist and pulled her closer. they melted right into each other just taking each other in and for the first time in years, their pain seemed to simmer into the air, carrying that weight off both of their shoulders. replacing that was their warm but fragile emotions and feelings for each other.
when she broke apart madeline rested her head on yn’s forehead as yn spoke up. “i’m so sorry for everything.” her breathing was shaky.
madeline nodded. “i know. we’ll figure everything out.” she smiled pecking yn’s forehead. “together.”

George Russell: "The paddock is a high-profile place, and I love expressing my style there"
At 26, the English driver is rejuvenating the podiums of the Mercedes team, while Formula 1 is undergoing its generational change. We met this enthusiast with a mind of steel and the physique of a young star, ambassador of the Tommy Hilfiger brand.
L'OFFICIEL: Legend has it that you dreamed of a podium in Formula 1 from a very young age. Is that correct? George: Yes, that's true. As far back as I can remember I've always had a great interest and even passion for car racing. From the first day I got into a kart as a child, I saw it as my natural habitat! And from the moment I entered the competition, I only ran to win. L'OH: You started karting at the age of eight. How does starting so young impact a runner's mental and physical development? George: Starting early is essential for a future Formula 1 racer. It's a terribly competitive sport. The numbers are against you, but showing resilience, self-confidence and focus allows you to develop your mental and physical skills quickly from a young age. And it's also a unique sport in terms of pace of life. Completing competitions and rankings in championships throughout the year provides valuable experience.
L'OH: Would you say today that reality lives up to your childhood dreams? George: Absolutely. Particularly in recent years, during which Formula 1 has experienced a phenomenal gain in popularity, with an unprecedented number of fans. Seeing these oceans of supporters present at every race on the official calendar provides an incredible feeling. And then finding myself competing alongside the greatest champions in the world, with such an inspiring Mercedes team, I have always dreamed of it; however, winning the Formula 1 world championship remains the ultimate dream, and I will continue to fight to win the title. L'OH: You are part of this new generation of successful drivers, with Charles Leclerc and Max Verstappen. How do you explain this public enthusiasm? George: As I said, Formula 1 is an extremely inspiring sport, both on and off the track, through its performances but also its lifestyle. The conditions of immersion, interaction and fan engagement with the teams and drivers make the latter extremely popular. This explains, in my opinion, the success that revolves around it today. L'OH: What's it like to race alongside a legend like Lewis Hamilton? George: It's very special. As teammates we're fighting together to get the team back on pole position on the starting grid, and we have made big steps towards that this year. As drivers, each of us is consistently focused on being the best every race. I think it's fair to say we've had great results on the most recent ones. I hope to do even better on the next ones.
L'OH: What is the next personal challenge in your career? George: In Formula 1 more than in any other sport, if there is no challenge then there is a problem. It's one of the most intense sports, by nature and challenge. Everyone, the teams and the drivers, only thinks about one thing: winning the world championship, and the competition is fierce. Consequently, and this is my opinion, the current challenge is to seek the opportunity to move forward one step in each race, each weekend, at our own pace. It's far from obvious, but you get nothing for nothing. L'OH: How did you become a Tommy Hilfiger brand ambassador? George: Tommy himself is a huge Formula 1 fan, and he's a legend in the paddock! His brand has been a partner of the Mercedes-AMG F1 team since 2019, and he has a knack for merging fashion and motorsport. I also like to change the great classics, and we both immediately got hooked when we talked about them. Today I am part of the family as he makes me feel so good, and my girlfriend Carmen also works alongside him. L'OH: Tell us about your experience with the brand; what you like to wear? George: Almost every race weekend, I arrive dressed in Tommy Hilfiger. The paddock has become over time a very publicized, very visible place, and I love expressing my style there by wearing the latest pieces, with a weakness for all those from the "Tommy X Mercedes-AMG F1 X Clarence Ruth" collection, without forgetting my two must-haves: classic chinos and rugby polo shirts. L'OH: How would you define your style outside the paddocks? George: Contemporary, classic and timeless at the same time. Very Tommy Hilfiger!

So if anyone remembers awhile ago I made a little post about @stellarfirmatim music, well I decided I would make one for the new album Paler under Tim's new band name Everywhere Fires... It can be found on bandcamp, and I highly recommend giving it a listen. I am going to put the little review under a read more, or you can read the gdoc.
One of the things that I always enjoy about Tim’s music is how he uses vocals as part of the soundscape, his harmonies in particular to create such depth to his music.
And I just have to say it was really lovely getting a full album all at once, a set piece to be enjoyed together. I will of course vastly enjoy mixing the new songs into the rest of Tim’s catalog when throwing my playlist on random, but it’s so nice to just have this little set on its own as well.
Note: I’m not great with terminology, if I’ve gotten things wrong, I apologize. Also there is very little/no talk about lyrics because they generally aren’t my focus while listening to music, vocals mostly being a (beautiful) part of the soundscape.
Hold On
This is such a strong start to the album. It pulls you in with jagged, erratic tones, which really nicely opposes the soothing vocals. Then there is a beat drop you don’t see coming that really slaps you in the face in the best way possible, with a fast asynchronous drum beat that is reminiscent of Radiohead. The high bells that come in creating a wonderful alternating beat, that along with the low harmonies, really creates a lovely combination. Vibes are impeccable.
Defib
First single released, and where it is very good on its own, it really fits so perfectly nestled into the second slot on the album. I listened to a lot of Grails earlier this summer (thanks to Tim’s rec during a stream) and this song has some of those vibes with the synths and slow plodding baseline that feels like it could go on forever. I really love the sound that cuts across the song, a nice sharp sound to balance the rounded edges of the rest of the song.
A Killing Kind
Third on the album is an understated song that seems to elude me in finding ways to describe. The transition from Defib was smooth and it pulls you in with some bright synths. I really enjoy the way the vocals overlap during the chorus, feels like it’s bouncing through my head. Then of course there are the lovely strings that come in and bring it to a whole new level.
Thy Will
The fourth track starts off strong with organs that really set the mood for the whole song. It’s brooding and dark, feeling like dark storm clouds overhead. I really enjoy the melody that the vocals follow, interesting and lilting. Truly a great song to walk to, sets a strong confident pace. Ending with the same gorgeous organ works as an excellent transition into the next song.
Working on my Hands
I hesitate to choose a favorite with an album so full of bangers, but I do really enjoy this one an awful lot. This song starts off eerie and unsettling. It calms down, but that sense of foreboding never really leaves, and when the big siren sound comes in, you feel it pull you by your chest and leaves you hanging, almost like a sense of vertigo, with the deep bass rumbling through your bones. All just ends up being very spooky and atmospheric. Another great transition into the next song, one of my favorites I think.
Paler
The title track of the album has a beautiful drone like quality to it, with horns that pierce through, pulling you through the song. It’s gentle and repetitive and soothing like a rainstorm. I specifically had foggy days on the ocean imagery in my head, but that may have been influenced by the horns and the lovely deep vocals, but either way it creates a lonely, isolated vibe that fits the song very well. It fades gently into the next song perfectly.
Your Arms, Boys
A real highlight to the album, starting off minimal with just vocals and a lovely little xylophone/piano, feeling like it's just taking place in a small room. Initially thinking it was going to be a simple ballad, I had not expected it to suddenly build in such a grandiose way, filling your ears with a larger than life feeling. It’s a very cinematic song, I can easily picture groups of sailors on a ship, singing this together to keep time as they work, the layers of beautiful harmonies laying the groundwork for that image.
Evelyn
The final song on the album feels both very different from the rest of the tracks, and also like the perfect ending, wrapping the album up with a beautiful little waltz that instantly makes me want to dance around the room. It has such a lovely melody which the deep vocals work so well for. The strings that slide in really bring it to another level, and what sounds like bubbles popping give it such a whimsical feeling.

2010 Car Launch
Sebastian Vettel | Driver – Car 5
Sebastian Vettel’s first foray into Formula One saw him fined for speeding in the pitlane during the first ten seconds of his debut. It’s fair to say he hasn’t slowed down much since.
Fame and fortune hasn’t made any discernable impact on Seb (“What fortune?” he asks, bewildered). He still gives his cars girl’s names, argues that there are more exciting things in life than driving Formula One cars (but not many) and is proud of being taller than Rubens Barrichello. He loathes being referred as ‘the new Schumacher,’ and so is relieved to see his Race of Champions team-mate returning to F1.
Born 3 July 1987 in the town of Heppenheim, Germany, Sebastian enjoyed a successful career in karting before making an immediate impression the moment he came into open-wheel racing. Starting the 2003 season aged 15, he won five of 19 races in his debut Formula BMW year, finishing second in the German Championship. The next year he took the title, winning 18 of the 20 races (he finished on the podium in the other two but doesn’t like to talk about them).
It marked Vettel as one to watch and he duly tested F1 cars for Williams and BMW-Sauber, while moving up through the junior ranks, impressing in Formula 3 and the World Series by Renault. Vettel’s chance in F1 came when he replaced Robert Kubica as BMW-Sauber’s third driver in the second half of the 2006 season. In addition to incurring the Stewards’ wrath, Vettel’s debut during Friday practice for the Turkish Grand Prix also saw him finish the day top of the timesheets.
While the performance on track was impressive, everyone was equally knocked out by the confidence and effervescence with which the teenage Seb dealt with the garage and Paddock. The authority with which he spoke and the evident self-deprecating wit stood him out as much as the blistering pace.
Sebastian finally got his chance to race a year later, standing in for the injured Kubica at the United States Grand Prix. Still only 19, he qualified seventh and finished eighth, becoming the youngest man to score a Championship point. Later in the 2007 season he moved to a permanent seat at Scuderia Toro Rosso. He made a lasting impression on future team-mate Mark Webber (and the rear of his car) during the monsoon-hit Japanese Grand Prix at Fuji before bouncing back a week later to secure fourth place at an equally waterlogged Chinese Grand Prix.
Confirmed for 2008, Vettel didn’t have the best start to his first full season and crashed out of the first four races, mostly as a result of being dragged into other drivers’ accidents. Fortunately the crash-magnet curse was soon lifted and Vettel scored points at Monaco, Montreal, Hockenheim, Valencia, Spa, Singapore, Fuji and Interlagos – though the only race anyone properly remembers is the Italian Grand Prix at Monza.
On the back of a strong fifth place in Belgium, Vettel and Scuderia Toro Rosso went to Italy in good form. Torrential rain over the weekend failed to dampen their pace and Vettel duly became, first, the youngest driver to take pole position in Formula One history, and then the youngest race winner, having utterly dominated the race in which a rudder may have been of more use than a steering wheel.
Elevated to the senior Red Bull team for 2009, Vettel won his second, and Red Bull Racing’s first, victory at the third race of the year. He followed it with a string of podium and solid points-scoring finishes and established himself as a firm championship contender with a second, commanding victory in the British Grand Prix. He finished the season strongly with further victories in Japan and Abu Dhabi that, together with four other podium finishes, took him to second place in the Drivers’ Championship.
Definitely a follower of the ‘second is first of the losers’ philosophy, Sebastian has loftier ambitions for 2010. He lists his lifetime ambitions as winning the Formula One World Championship and beating Kimi RĂ€ikkönen at badminton.

Sebastian and the RB6
It was windy, it was cold - rain was just a matter of time. Sebastian‘s face was nearly covered by his Beanie cap, but despite the dark clouds he was in really good mood. The reason why? It was the moment when his new car was unveiled. Sebastian laughs: „Finally we are back on the track - the winter break was far too long."
Sebastian stands in front of his car and proudly he gives a short version explanation: „We were lucky to have the best of all cars during the second half of the season. That means we had a very good base right from the beginning, so we just had to develop the car. In contrast some of the opponents had to develop completely new designed cars."
The only real new part: „I got a new seat, it‘s like having a new chair. Beside that in general all the more than thousand parts of a Formula One car have been optimised. "I have a feeling I can reach my target"
So far I have not made a decision regarding the car‘s name. So ideas are welcomed.More next Friday: Today and tomorrow my team mate Mark will do the shake down and the first laps.
On Friday it will be my turn and so on Friday evening I will able to give you further information, about how the RB6ÂŽs handling qualities.

Jerez Test

JEREZ TEST – Day Three
Driver: Sebastian Vettel
Car: RB6 – 01
Laps: 59
Best time: 1.21.783
Circuit length: 4.423 km
Fastest lap: J. Alguersuari – 1:19.919
Sebastian Vettel drove Red Bull Racing’s 2010 championship challenger, the RB6, for the first time today, as he took over from Mark Webber on day three of the current four-day test in Jerez.
After an initial run on dry tyres, Sebastian was forced to use intermediate and extremes for the rest of the day as wet weather set in from 0945hrs. The team’s plan was to focus on aero-testing, but progress was hampered by deteriorating weather. By 1615hrs, conditions were so wet on track that Red Bull Racing, in line with the other Formula One teams testing in Jerez, decided to end the session early. Despite the weather, the car ran without any problems today.
Sebastian Vettel commented; “After three months, it was good to come back and drive the car – it felt okay and we didn’t have any big issues. Obviously the weather is not ideal for us to find out more about the car, but we knew the rain was coming so we didn’t mess around this morning and went straight out to do some laps. It then rained all day, but you could face these conditions in a grand prix, so it’s important to do laps in the wet. Overall, we didn’t do enough because of the weather, but I’m pretty happy.”
Sebastian will be driving the RB6 again tomorrow for the last day of this current preseason F1 test at the Jerez Circuit.
2010 Rider on the Storm
Sebastian Vettel | Driver – Car 5
"You can't influence the weather, we have seen that today. After a three month break, I was finally able to sit in the car today and it was good fun, I am still able to drive and the car feels good. This morning I did some (a few) laps in the dry the car went well straight away, but then it started raining and I had to park the car for some time in the garage. For sure it's a shame that it wasn't dry all day but also its possible to have rain in a race and so you have to learn to keep up with diffrent weather conditions. At the moment its still very difficult to give an idea of where everybody stands due to the new rules and the big tanks. The teams are driving with diffrent fuel levels and this also keeps changing. I hope it continues raining over night so that nothing is left for tomorrow and I can speed though all day, but as I said we have to see as we can't tell mother nature what to do..."

JEREZ TEST – Day Four
Driver: Sebastian Vettel
Car: RB6 – 01
Laps: 90
Best time: 1.21.203
Circuit length: 4.423 km
Fastest lap: L. Hamilton – 1.19.583
Sebastian Vettel was at the wheel of Red Bull Racing’s RB6 today for the final day of the current Jerez test. It was his second day of testing, as Mark Webber had driven on days one and two.
The team’s plan was to focus on set-up work and aero testing, although the weather once again played a part and damp conditions in the morning meant Sebastian began the day on intermediate tyres.
Conditions dried by lunchtime, but a fuel pump failure in the afternoon cost the team around three hours of dry running time. Sebastian ended the day with a final long run on dry tyres.
At the end of the RB6’s first test, Ian Morgan, Head of Race Engineering said: “It’s been a productive first week with the RB6, despite the weather and lack of dry conditions. We’re pleased with the car overall, it’s showing a lot of promise.” The next test will take place at the Jerez Circuit, starting on Wednesday 17 February.

Barcelona Test

Barcelona Test - Tag 2 (english version below)
Sebastian Vettel | Fahrer – RB6-01
Auto: RB6-01
Runden: 125
Bestzeit: 1.21,258 Min.
Barcelona Test - Day 2
Driver: Sebastian Vettel
Car: RB6 – 01
Laps: 125
Best time: 1.21.285
Circuit length: 4.655 km
Fastest lap: N. HĂŒlkenberg – 1:20.614
The team drove its second race simulation, and at the end of the day Sebastian had completed 125 laps.
Ian Morgen, Head of Race Engineering said; “Today we experienced about a repeat of the race simulation that Mark drove yesterday. Everything went more or less according to plan. We again stopped the car during the simulation. This was a safety measure to control a few things. It was a small problem and we could continue soon after. Sebastian could finish the race simulation in full length before end of the test day. We ran many laps and are quite happy about the car.”
Sebastian Vettel said: “This was a good day – no large problems showed up. During the course of the afternoon we had to take a break due to a small thing, but that’s pretty normal with testing drives. On test days you don’t want to risk damage. For that reason it’s best to stop the car once there’s alarms in the background. Because it rained a lot in Jerez, we have a lot of work to do in the coming few days. For example we have to find out more about the tires and do a bit of coordination work.”
Sebastian Vettel will take the wheel again tomorrow before passing it back again to Mark on Sunday, the last test day.
Barcelona Test - Tag 3 (english below)
Sebastian Vettel | Fahrer – RB6-02
Auto: RB6-02
Runden: 44
Bestzeit: 1.23,123 Min.
StreckenlÀnge: 4,655 km
Tagesschnellster: N. Rosberg (1.20,686 km)
Barcelona Test - Day 3
Driver: Sebastian Vettel
Car: RB6 – 01
Laps: 44
Best time: 1:23.123
Circuit length: 4.655 km
Fastest lap: N. Rosberg – 1:20.686
Sebastian Vettel finished his second test day in Barcelona at the last test before the start of the season. The day was affected by rain. In the morning only few laps were run due to a mix of rain showers and technical problems. The afternoon showed to be more useful because the team worked on the race setup for the first race of the season in Bahrain. Sebastian reached his best time during the last lap of the day. Ian Morgan, Head of Race Engineering said; “After the nightly work in view of the program planned for the day we were late due to a few technical problems in the morning. After we got to driving in the afternoon, we managed to do three, four setup tests for the race in Bahrain. Those brought us clear results. Accordingly we finished the day in much better form.“ Tomorrow, on the last test day, Sebastian and Mark Webber will be sharing the car.

Barcelona Test - Tag 4 (english below)
Sebastian Vettel | Fahrer – RB6-02
Fahrer: Sebastian Vettel/Mark Webber
Auto: RB6-02
Runden: 137 (Vettel – 76; Webber – 61)
Bestzeit: Vettel: 1.20,667 Min.
StreckenlÀnge: 4,655 km
Tagesschnellster: L. Hamilton (1.20,472 Min.)
Barcelona Test - Day 4
Usually, my Tests would have concluded on Saturday, but due to the bad weather conditions I did not get to the distance I wanted. Because of that we agreed that I’d get back into the car Sunday morning. On Friday we did a race simulation where everything went more or less according to plan. Now we need to wait for the first race in Bahrain, today in two weeks, where everyone will drop their pants
We’ll have to work on our top speed until then, but all in all I’m rather happy with the car. By the way: I have a name already, but I’ll only share that one on my website the Monday before the GP

Drivers: Sebastian Vettel/Mark Webber
Car: RB6-02
Laps: 137 (Vettel – 76; Webber – 61)
Best time: Vettel: 1:20.667
Circuit length: 4,655 km
Fastest lap: L. Hamilton – 1:20.472
After he spent less time on the track than expected, Sebastian was in the car in the morning, while Mark finished our preparations for the new season in the afternoon. Both drivers followed similar programs that the team successfully completed. The provisionally final setups for different tank fillings were found.
Ian Morgan, Head of Race Engineering, said; ”Because we lost some time yesterday, we couldn’t finish everything we set out to do with Seb. For that reason we went over more or less one and a half test days worth of work, which got us to 137 laps. That was a lot of turmoil but we managed to do a lot.
The last test went well for us. After limited testing opportunities on dry track during the tests in Jerez, the almost fully dry four days of testing here let us get back on course. During the course of the week we took great steps. These were very good test drives.”
Two weeks still separate us from the first World Championship race, the Bahrain GP.

my secret santa gift for @greentealycheejelly, a malexa fic that examines an alternate start to season two that gives them more space to breathe before falling together, with examinations of a lot of the group dynamics and echo in the background! I hope you enjoy it and that the angst isn’t too heavy handed, but I listened to a lot of My Chemical Romance while writing and plotting and I’m sure that shows (in the title at the very least)!
The last few days had been rough, everyone’s emotions strung high from a grief larger than one man’s death and ready to be cracked wide open at any second. From the desperate grasps of one of Alex’s best friends to not get left behind again, to actually have her second chance at the family that had been ripped out of her grasp since she was old enough to hold something in her tiny fist. To the puffy eyes and dark circles of his ex-lover as he forwent sleep and food, spent hours huddled in a dark corner of a bar drinking himself numb or in his bunker hunched over his console angrily muttering under his breath.
Alex knew both of their fragile states- had witnessed them up close and personal. From Liz asking him to steal a corpse to Michael slurring his words as he helped him climb onto the wafer thin mattress in his airstream. Had shown up to install the grotto’s new security system to find Michael glaring at the shimmering console like it had killed Max itself, a beer bottle held tight in one hand and tear tracks glistening on his face. Alex hadn’t asked about the fresh tattoo his rolled up sleeves showcased or the book that had been thrown across the room, brand new by the looks of it, not even a crack in the spine.
Now that grief had drawn back. Leaving a deceptive calm over their group's unresolved emotions. Like the shoreline before a storm.
Both Liz and Michael seem bare and exposed in their exhausted states. The ever present crease on Michael’s brow is smoothed over, pure exhaustion in the slump of his shoulders as he sleeps in an armchair pulled up to the bed. Liz is standing at Max’s other side chewing on her bottom lip, the skin broken from her constant worrying, clipboard held in her hands. As if staring at the data will make their chances less slim, would make the muscle in Max’s chest stronger.
Both not three paces from where Alex had left them the night before.
“Long night?” Alex asks, his voice is still rough from disuse. He was tired himself, barely getting any sleep for the last few days, since he’d stood in the viewing room and watched Max flatline. Had seen Michael collapse against the wall and slide to the ground. Heard Liz’s broken sobs ringing through the high pitched scream of machinery.
For a moment Alex had tasted despair, felt completely powerless to save his loved ones again. A steady uptick to the list of people he couldn’t ever quite save.
He’d wanted to laugh, a dark cruel kind of sound, the kind he used to make around a mouthful of blood or when his ears were ringing so bad he thought he might never hear right again. But he had Maria, her soft warm hand had slipped into his and grounded him. Softened him. Kept his cool facade from breaking as he’d stared a nightmare in the face.
“Mikey just feel asleep,” Liz says, voice soft. Not defeated yet, but weak. Weary of joy it seemed.
Alex nods curtly, hand tightening around the coffee tray he had brought in. Three, just incase. “He needs it.”
Liz nods, concern flashing in her eyes as she gives Michael a glance. “After the days spent hunched over building Max a pacemaker-“ her face looks sour at that thought “-he has to be exhausted.”

I've never read anything quite like Fever Dream. I couldn't understand a lot of it as I read, although I do understand the characters and plot overall. In each moment, did you understand what was happening? What did you find profound? What did you like best artistically about it, and were there any big philosophical statements?
What a cool, exciting ask! I love this book, I wrote a 6-page essay about it for college at the time and I was never able to read it again because of how strong the experience was for me (I want to preserve the memory).
Latin America's magical realism is not about introducing some fantasy features into the ordinary, is more about the mystical experience of reality itself, the haunting mysteries or inexplicable events of life. They exaggerate the surreal, "magical" aspect to highlight the main issue. I will share more about that in the end.
What I like about Fever Dream the most is its originality. Once you start the book, you have to feel lost. That's the whole point. Schweblin is so bold, she actually doesn't want you to "understand what is going on", she invites you into the MC's feverish dream, and for that to happen you literally have to let go of any expectations and let the story unfold at its own pace. I honestly will recommend this book to any writer who is willing to take the (eco)horror path.
But it's not just about that. Personally, this book got to me because of the "rescue distance" concept — a better translation of the original title. As someone who lost a baby, the whole paranoia that comes from sensing danger, but being blind to it at the same time, drove me almost mad. I ate that book in one afternoon — and I'm a slow reader. Couldn't stop turning pages. It was too similar to my personal experience of foreseeing death, knowing that something was just about to happen, and not being able to avoid it at all. Very cathartic, per se.
But to talk more directly about the book, I will use my own words from a few years back, and if you don't want spoilers, don't read it:
"In the end, the loose thread remains. The feeling of loss is inevitable. All the danger and sense of paranoia culminated in a whirlwind of unstoppable events, engulfing the reader in a tachycardic, spiralling route; and he lands with the certainty that something very important was left behind: the essential and irreplaceable — perhaps, life itself. It's like returning from a trip without your luggage, empty-handed. Maybe this loose thread is the sensation of the entire humanity when confronted with its impotence in the face of a scenario of constant catastrophe, of destruction that disintegrates everything around: the web being woven as one lives, without being able to deviate from the tracks or turn back. The inevitability of evil — are we like Amanda, doing our best to protect those we love, and always losing what matters most? What similarity would we have with David, tying everything in his room (p.136), trying to connect the loose thread of this unreachable distance that can no longer be calculated? He may be trying to connect with what little remains, that which seems solid, in search of connecting then with something familiar; something that sustains a world that seems to be in free fall, heading nowhere. And this world — this same world of mutations, poisoned mist, dead ducks buried in the backyard, of silence that devoured all things, this world of Schweblin's magical realism — this is our own world."
I might upload my reviews and essays one day if I ever have enough energy and time to open a substack or something (they are too long). Latin American literature is fire! I'm glad you have this book a chance :) and thanks again for the ask!
