I know I used to be really heavy into fandom discourse but now I've gotten to the point where I can say if you bust out discourse terms against someone randomly and unprompted you're really chronically online. Cait Corrain isn't active in this fandom. She's hardly a reylo, and if she's gonna act like that she's not fuckin' welcome here.

I think they may have wrote a few reylo fics a long time ago but they're not a big name writer and the fandom as a whole don't really know who the fuck this person is.

I've seen a few people online mention Cait's book is published reylo fanfiction but I can't find anything from the writer confirming it so we’re all just assuming it started out as a reylo fic.

Looking at it, it seems more like lore olympus fanfiction than reylo but again, until the author says otherwise we’re just assuming.

Cait did however talk a gullible friend into helping her sabotage other people's book reviews and when the lacky she coerced did it wrong because she didn't really explain her dastardly plan very well and the moment she realized how badly the 'friend' fucked up she threw that kid under the bus.

But even that shit is kinda sus because these timestamps don't fucking line up. This conversation looks doctored to a lot of people meaning the only person responsible for being a cunt here is cait and you @watchingtheearthrise.

The friend is mentioned to be a reylo but you can't really put much of the blame on them since they were just doing what their cool(shitty) published writer friend asked them to do, assuming this friend is even real.

Cait didn't get mad she did a bad thing. She got mad she did it poorly and got caught. Which speaks volumes about Cait.

Little Announcement + rant

This is my personal opinion, you are welcome to disagree with anything I say and I am willing to discuss the post in a civil manner down in the replies.

So I was lurking in @thequeenofthewinter 's blog as one casually does and I came across the sexyman fiasco posts. and oh my God. I should have not went to investigate.

The sheer hate for Ulfric had me a little shocked. Like yeah, I admit that my favorite nord is very, very flawed (sometimes infuriating as well) and everyone is entitled to their opinions about him, whether they are positive or negative but hating a fictional character to the point that you feel the need to say that "People who like Ulfric Stormcloak should be shot." (I just went back and it was not one, BUT TWO people who said it) Is kind of... going a little too far.

There are reblogs roasting Ulfric that I know are all in good fun, and I even laughed at some of them (love the "how is ulfric going to compete against the glory of Alduin" one lmao) BUT COME ON...

Also saw someone said Ulfric was a n*zi?! And that people sent anon asks basically saying @incorrectskyrimquotes was endorsing rascism for just putting Ulfric in the poll. While saying they want to f*ck Alduin, who I'm pretty sure is pretty damn worse in the grand scheme of Nirn.

This post was made because of the sexyman poll, but it opened my eyes to how intolerant the fandom can be towards other less-liked/more flawed characters like Ondolemar, Miraak, etc. Because they get incredible amounts of hate as well.

Now, why am I not going to publish the fic I've been mentally planning for a whole year? I hear nobody ask.

Short answer is: I do not wish to get an explosive in my mail for simping over Ulfric. lol

Long answer is: I am genuinely scared of some of the members in the fandom. I fear that I post about a character I love, cherish and am attached to just to get harassed and dragged for it. That I attempt to connect with the community to befriend people who share my interests and get shunned and casted out instead.

I love when characters make mistakes, say the wrong things and get in trouble for it, I like when they have negative traits and flaws because it makes them human and not a bland Mary Sue who can do no wrong. I write my fics because I adore the original work, I write to express my feelings, my ideas, to transform the bad things that have happened in my life and make art out of the sadness, pain and anger. I accept criticism, and wish to learn and grow as both an author and a person. But there is a very clear difference between criticism and hate.

Its honestly very disheartening to see that a game that is widely regarded as a sandbox that gives you the freedom to create your own story has so many people in its fandom that cannot handle when others don't fit into the idea/mold they have created of what is "right" and what is not. People that don't care to understand the point of view of others and resort to insulting the other person.

Anyways, thats it, thats the rant.

I am, again, extremely sorry for how long it is but I truly needed to get it out of my chest.

Hello, this is going to be long, but it feels like the moment to post it. (I apologize for my grammar English is not my first language)

First I just wanted to say that I love everything about your blog, it has been such a comfort in the past 3 years of my life and has really put me through some very distressing moments. I think you are a wonderful person.

I think you are way too kind and far more decent than me spreading positivity and seeing the bright side on the whole Loki finale. I sadly can't do the same because I got so angry and frustrated with the fandom today.

I loved the show, everything about it, I love Sci Fi, and time travel related show, I even rant for an hour with my fiance about how much the show feels like Russell T Davis' Doctor Who and how incredibly clever it was.

As far as I understand the need for representation as a bisexual woman myself I hate it when people get so demanding and entitled over other people who owes you nothing, because they harass and hurt people instead of being constructive about it, thats why queer shows don't get far, because we are to focus on hating what is already there than creating something better or new.

I love the series, and I too wish for loki to end up with Mobius, which I know it won't happen as Drarry didn't happened and Johnlock didn't happened, that's why wonderful writers like you are out there to give us a chance to believe, And I will watch the next season and enjoy it even if doesn't end the way I want it to, because I care and support every wonderful person being in there, I just can't be part of the fandom right now because they are just too demeaning and cruell and I feel erased because if I dated girls and loved some of them and end up falling for a boy am I also not enough Bi? I just can't today.

But I'm so glad that you and others are sticking to positivity, I wish I could be also celebrating that I was right about Kang; (by the way did you notice that he change his time pad before taking it off? I understand what you mean, completely! I was browsing the Loki tag last night to share my excitement and my heart ached when most of what I read was so negative. Like I said yesterday, if you don't like the show and you have your reasons for it, that's fine by me but what a lot of people underestimate is how much hard work went into making this show. Everyone involved and especially Tom put a lot of thought into it and there is a huge difference between posting rude comments because what certain individuals wanted to happen didn’t happen or downplaying the effort they all made to produce this show, and voicing your opinion in a respectful and plausible way.

I understand a lot of fans wanted Mobius x Loki to happen. Sure, why not? But ultimately, the writers make the decision. When I write a book, I create the ships that feel right to me as well if that is what I have planned for the story and what I enjoy writing, they’ll never be able to please absolutely everyone. It’s all subjective, that’s fine. All I ask is for people to be respectful. Real people worked on this show. Real people who poured their heart and soul into this.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I loved the show so much! In fact, with some comments claiming that Loki had no character development in this show (?!) I do ask myself if we’ve even watched the same series. If you disagree with someone, that is okay--and it’s also okay to step away from the conversation if you are getting uncomfortable. There is no reason to waste your energy on rude comments or people trying to force their opinion on you because they believe that just because they didn’t like the show, everyone else has to dislike it too. Just like they have reasons for why they disliked it, we have reasons for why we liked it!

Yes, the way certain aspects of the LGBTQ+ community were represented raised a lot of discussion, one that I do not wish to take part in but if you are interested, I responded to an ask recently that should give you an idea of what I think about the whole discourse, that is as far as I will go.
