Bumped Heads & Bedtime Stories (Alex Morgan x reader)
Tumblr media
A/N: So this wasn’t planned but once it was in my head I had to write it. I hope you all like it.
Alex and Charlie watched on proudly as you took the field with the Matildas for the Semi final of the World Cup. The younger of the two got up from her mother’s lap and stood directly in front of the TV when the camera zoomed in on you as you exchanged pendants with the German captain.
“Mommy look it’s Mama” Charlie says excitedly.
Long distance was hard for the two of you when you started dating, more so when you got married but all of that failed in comparison to when you had Charlie. You played for Lyon and had done since you were a 21 years old. Alex feared what your bond with Charlie would be like when you lived half way across the world for the majority of the year but she soon found out she had nothing to worry about. Charlie adored you and the bond you two shared was unbreakable.
“It is and she is wearing a shirt just like yours” Alex replies to her daughter.
“This is her shirt Mama, look” Charlie points the your last name on the back of her shirt.
“But you support America, right Charlie?” Kelley asks the small child.
“No! I support Australia” she didn’t pronounce every letter but it was enough to be understood.
Alex knew this was an argument she could never win. You hadn’t tried to get Charlie on your side, the girl automatically chose you. The two of you asked her who she would support if Mama and Mommy play against each other and each time Charlie said you.
The Matildas were putting in yet another dominating performance just like they had been doing the entire campaign. The advantage they had with it being a home tournament made a huge difference and every game sounded and was played like a final.
You were 2-0 up going into the second half. Sam had scored from a corner and you had scored from a free kick. You were currently the top scorer on the tournament which shocked most people because you were a left back but you were also a set piece specialist. The ball almost always found the back of the net whether it came off your foot or your head.
It’s why when the next corner takes place you are heavily marked but some how manage to free yourself. As you jump for the header you feel your head hit something but it felt a lot harder than a ball, this much is proven when you fall to the floor and can feel your head throbbing in seconds. Your first guess is that you got elbowed so you stand to your feet but then feel a warm liquid running down your face. Yes, you had built up a sweat but it was winter in Australia no way are you sweating this much. It is only when you look down that you see drops of red on your shirt and when you raise your hand to where the pain is your hand is covered in blood.
Alex was unaware of the incident that had taken place on the pitch as she was getting some water from the hotel bar. The first wave of panic is brought on when she hears Charlie shrieking and her cries get louder and louder as she runs towards her.
“Mama’s hurt. Blood” Charlie all but jumps into the Alex’s arms. The child is inconsolable.
Your wife doesn’t know to react. She knew that she had to stay calm if she had any hope of calming Charlie down but right now she was finding that incredibly difficult.
When Alex returns to the seating area she sees all eyes are on her before heads turn towards the TV.
“How bad is it?” Alex asks calmly.
“Lots of blood” Charlie is the only one to answer her question.
“Can you one you please tell me what happen to Y/N?” Alex begs her team mates.
“It was a corner. She jumped up for a header but one of the German defenders had a hold of her shirt. The keeper came out to punch the ball away and kneed Y/N in the head. She got up almost immediately—“ Kelley tried telling her best friend.
“So she’s ok?”
“She had a cut on her head. Like Charlie said there was a lot of blood. She refused a stretcher and help from the physios because she wanted to play. Sam and Ellie had to help her of the pitch. She looked out of it
Alex tried to process what she was being told. Head injuries are serious and regardless of whether you used a stretcher or not, the suggestion of one is enough to instil worry.
“Was it bad?” She wasn’t sure if she wanted to the answer.
“No”
“Yes”
Only one player said yes and it was Kristie.
“Sam refused to play and walked off the pitch with Y/N. I know my girlfriend, I has never seen her look like that and she has never walked away from a game. It’s the semi final. She wouldn’t have gone with Y/N if it wasn’t bad”
Kristie’s statement made Alex feel two things; relief because you had your best friend with you and panic because the blonde was right, Sam wouldn’t have left the match if it wasn’t bad.
“Charlie” Naomi walks up to the little girl who surprisingly doesn’t shy away from her “do you know how many goals you mama has scored so far? I think it’s 2”
Your daughter reaches of the defender and goes into tell her that you had scored and how you scored them.
Time after time, Alex got your voicemail. She was about to give up and drive to the hospital that were closest to the stadium but then Kristie got a call.
“It’s Sam” She holds the phone towards the forward “She’s with Y/N”
Alex took a deep breath before holding the phone up to her ear.
“Y/N”
“Hi Al” you voice was quiet and if she hadn’t already have known she would be able to tell something was wrong “I need to go to the hospital for some checks and stitches”
“Which one? I’ll get one of the cars and be there as soon as I can” Alex was already searching for a member of staff that would have car keys.
“No, don’t come. Stay with Charlie. Hospitals are no place for children and you hate them almost as much as I do. I should only be a couple of hours if I don’t have to stay over. I’ll come to you afterwards”
Alex wanted to argue. She needed to see that you were ok with her own eyes, anything less wouldn’t do.
“You’re going to come here as soon as you can?”
“I am”
The whole USWNT waited patiently, some more than others, for you to arrive to their hotel.  Since you began dating Alex, you had become part of their family. They all watched the incident happen and would feel much better when they saw you in the flesh.
Hours pass and you still hadn’t arrived, they hadn’t even heard from you since the call with Alex.
Charlie went quiet and Alex knew it was because you needed to see you. The young girl always shut down when she missed you and she wouldn’t return to her normal until she saw you or felt like you were close to her. Because of this Alex had packed several of your hoodies so that they can be a source of comfort your daughter and her as well.
“Kells, will you take Charlie up to get one of Y/N’s hoodies. I’d take her but I want to be here when she—“
“Of course”
The choice of clothing must have been a hard decision because the pair was gone almost half an hour. The defender returns to the hotel bar.
“Kelley, please tell me you haven’t lost my daughter?” Alex asks when she notices her friend is alone.
Alex walks towards the defender who had assumed Charlie was right behind her.
“Mama!!”
The word is heard throughout the bar and the giggles that follow lift a weight that had been hanging on each players shoulders.
When you enter the bar, your daughter in your arms, everyone can see what the accident had done to you. The left side of your forehead is slightly swollen and you had stitches just below your hairline. You welcome Alex into your arms and place a small kiss to both her and Charlie’s temples.
Sam hovers near you. You hear Kristie call her over but she shakes her head.
“Go. I’m fine” you pat your best friend on her shoulder “Thank you for staying with me Sammy”
“I’m only over there if you need me” Sam gingerly walks over to her girlfriend.
You sit down with Alex next to you and Charlie on your knee. Your daughter inspects your injury all whilst been careful not to hurt you. She presses your stitches a little too hard which causes you to wince.
“Does it hurt?” Charlie asks and you can feel Alex’s eyes burning into you.
“It does but I’m ok”
“Are you?” It is now Alex’s turn to ask you a question.
“I am. I have no concussion and no major damage”
“Then why is Sam here and why is she watching you like you’re going to pass out at any minute?”
“I lost consciousness a couple of times, I think I scared her” You once made a vow to be honest with Alex and it seemed important now more than ever.
You look over to where Sam and Kristie were sitting and like Alex said, Sam was watching you like a hawk.
“I’m here because I have her medication” Sam answers Alex’s first question.
“Medication? You said you were ok. If you were ok then you wouldn’t need medication”
You give Sam a look as if saying look what you’ve started.
“Sam. Show Alex the medication you were talking about”
Sam holds up a pack of paracetamol earning a laugh from the girls around you.
You hated taking painkillers but the doctor give you strict instructions to take them every 4 hours. It has been 2 hours since your first dose and Sam had taken it upon herself to make sure you took a second dose, after that it would be Alex’s job.
“Sam wanted to see Kristie without it the girls teasing her for it so she’s using me as an excuse”
Sam couldn’t argue with you on that. The team, you included, loved to tease her about how much she missed her girlfriend. You got just as much stick but you agreed with your tormentors whereas Sam would get defensive.
You took Charlie upstairs to get ready for bed since it was made obvious that the team would be staying downstairs for a bit and one late night wouldn’t harm the child.
Whilst Alex did believe you when you told her you were ok, she still wanted a second opinion and your best friend her best option.
“How bad was it?” Alex joins Sam and Kristie at their table. Sonnett, Lynn and Kelley was also at the same table.
“You want the truth?” Your wife nods her head “At first it was really bad. The physios couldn’t stop the bleeding and they didn’t want to go to hospital until they did. Y/N was out of it but she was trying to act fine. Her eyes wouldn’t focus on anything, it was almost like we weren’t in the room with her” Sam tries not to cry but the lump that if forming in her throat was making it difficult.
Alex didn’t share the same need for control. Her tears fell freely as she heard your best friend tell her what happened moment by moment. Turns out she did have a reason for concern and quite a few at that. Looking at the way you walked in you wouldn’t have thought anything had happened but after listening to Sam, Alex realised you had to be putting on a brave front.
When you return with a pyjama clad Charlie Alex tells the group that is is time for the Morgan - Y/L/N’s to go to bed. You saw the look in her eye and didn’t argue.
Once the door had shut Alex started to cry.
“Hey hey, there’s no need to cry” you pull her in tight and hold her close. You knew that you would have scared Alex so you let her cry.
“You scared us” Alex speaks into your chest.
“I know, I’m sorry” you grab her hand and pull her towards the bed. Once sat down Alex buries her head in the crook of your neck and you hold her tightly again.
“Yeah mama, there was a lot of blood” Charlie walks over to the two of you. Alex pulls away and quickly wipes her eyes. She didn’t want your daughter to see her cry.
You wanted to say wait till they see your Matilda’s jersey which was now more red than yellow but now wasn’t the time for jokes.
“I know there was but it all got cleaned up and then I got these to stop it from bleeding again” You point to your stitches.
“I got you this” Charlie climbs onto your lap and holds up a band aid which had Pepper pig on. You take it off her and hand to Alex with a nod of you head. Alex then places the unnecessary band aid across the stitches but makes sure that the cushion covers your stitches.
“Can we watch a movie?”
“Yes” Alex answers.
“Actually, the doctor told Mama she isn’t allowed to watch any movies tonight”
“You said you didn’t have a concussion” Alex whispers knowing full well what people who have concussions get told.
“I don’t but the brightness makes my headache worse” you reassure your wife.
“Why?” Your child was curious and didn’t understand why you wouldn’t be allowed.
“Because whilst I am ok, I do have a poorly head. What about a bedtime story instead?”
Charlie happily takes you up on your offer and even gets herself into her bed.
“What do you think Al, is it time our daughter finds out how we met?”
Alex rolls her eyes at this. You two had very different sides when it came to the day you met. You were adamant that it was love at first sight, especially for Alex but she didn’t agree.
“Only if you tell her the truth”
Once Charlie is tucked up in bed you side on the side with Alex standing over you.
“It started when Australia played America. I had to mark your mommy and she kept trying to take my top off” This earned you a slap from Alex but a giggle from Charlie so it was worth it.
“I did not”
“You ripped it off me remember”
“It was an accident”
“Oh baby, you keep telling yourself that. Do you think it was an accident Charlie?”
“Nope” Charlie agrees with you, of course she did.
You continue telling the story and every so often you would hear Alex scoff at your recollation of events. She saw you as this cocky Aussie but you did catch her eye that first day but she wouldn’t call it love at first sight. Lust would be more appropriate given then you ended in her hotel room that night.
“Then a couple of years later your Mommy moved all the way to France because she missed me and wanted to see me everyday”
“I didn’t move for you. Well not just you”
“Ha! I knew it” you look up at Alex with a smug look in your face.
“I miss you everyday Mama”
“And I miss you my sweet one”
You continue the story up to the point where you propose to Alex when you see Charlie trying really hard to fight sleep. You end it there and promise to finish it another time.
You get into your own bed, well technically it is Alex’s bed, and with a watchful eye you enjoy the show she is putting on as she gets changed.
“So I’ve been thinking”
“Are you allowed to do that?” Alex jokes.
“Actually not but just allow it for the time being. My contract is up with Lyon this summer and I have meeting after the world cup to discuss my contract. How would you feel if I request a transfer?”
Never in all the years of dating and marriage had Alex asked you to leave Lyon, not even when Charlie was born. You were one of the best players in the world, Lyon was the team that made you into that and in return you gave them several champions league titles. Sure the topic had been brought up before but you were always under contract so it was hard.
“Are you saying you are ready to leave?”
“No. I’m ready to stop leaving. Charlie is getting older and you heard her, she misses me and I know you do” Alex throws her top at you “You do and I miss you too. I’ve given my life to that club but it’s time I put our family first”
You wouldn’t admit it but today scared you and you knew that it could have been a lot worse than it was. It made you appreciate these moments you had with your family and you wanted to have more of them even if it did mean moving the San Diego.

Sicktember 2023: 24 (USWNT)
"Did you just sneeze?"
“It’s a bird, it’s a plane, no it’s super baby,” Kelley cheers, holding you parallel to the ground as she ‘flies’ your small body around the living room.
Your giggles are contagious and they soon attract your Mama’s attention. Alex peeks into the room, seeing the chaos that has occurred.
“What are you doing to my baby?” Alex asks, a hand on her hip and her eyebrow jokingly raised.
“Your baby?!” Kelley asks astoundedly, “Your baby?!? If I remember correctly, you didn’t change a diaper for the first year. This is my baby- 100%”
“I gave up my body and my career to carry and feed our daughter, the least you could do was change a few diapers.”
Kelley holds you out straight so you’re looking at her, “what do you think, huh? Are you Mommy and Mama’s baby?”
You babble indistinctly back at her as the two women stare adoringly at you. Because they had been watching you so closely, your moms were able to watch as you took a deep breath and your eyes closed. Unfortunately, neither of your moms had a chance to react before your nostrils flared and you sneezed wetly. Twice. Right in your Mommy’s face.
“Did you just sneeze?” She asks you, her voice low as to not show any emotion. You don’t respond because, well, you’re a baby and you don’t have the words to respond even if you did know what to call that funny feeling and loud sound you just made.
Kelley turns to Alex, “did she just sneeze? On me?”
Alex can’t speak, instead nodding her head once. Kelley simply hands you over to your Mama, mumbling something about not wanting the baby anymore before leaving the room.
—-
Two days later, you and your Mommy were once again in the living room. This time, though, there was much less happy chatter and giggling.
You were dressed only in a diaper, the fever overheating you as the copious amounts of fluid that they were feeding you quickly worked their way through your small body. Kelley was sitting on the sofa and your small body was resting lamely on her stomach and chest. She had one hand under your bum, keeping you in a comfortable position, while her other hand was fiddling with her phone as she canceled plans due to the sick baby she currently had resting on her.
She can feel you take a slightly larger inhale than usual, and she looks down. She sees your eyes begin fluttering shut and she can feel your breath hitching under her palm. Quickly, Kelley drops her phone onto the cushion next to her and pulls a tissue out of the tissue box that she had taken to carrying around. She cups your nose and mouth gently in the tissue, waiting for the inevitable.
You pitch forward into her hand, sneezing a snotty, congested sounding sneeze. Kelley knows by this point not to take the tissue away, as your moms had learned the hard way that you never sneeze just once.
You sneeze again, sighing. But your Mommy can still feel your nose wiggling before you sputter out another sneeze, this one louder than the previous two.
“Bless you, bless you, bless you, you sneezy monster,” she says, planting a kiss on the top of your head after each ‘bless you.” She wipes your nose clean, dropping the tissue into the quickly growing pile and begins running her now free hand through your hair.
“Everyone alright?” Alex shouts from the kitchen, appearing in the doorway.
“We’re fine, right bug?” Mommy asks you, “cause you’re so smart and you know not to sneeze on Mommy anymore.”
With impeccable timing, you sneeze directly on Kelley. The woman stands up, holding you at an arm's length as she walks over to Alex.
“Your turn,” she simply says, pushing you gently into Mama’s arms.

“She’s my daughter too!” - Alex Morgan x reader
Tumblr media
“That’s the problem, I don’t think Charlie has ever seen me play for my national team” You take a breath as you fight back tears and loosen you hand around your phone.
“You know I want her with me and the girls” You faintly hear the room door open and close due to being on the balcony. You turn around and see your roommate Steph and best friends Mackenzie (Macca), Caitlin and Alanna.
“She’s my daughter too! My name is on the birth certificate just as much as yours. Hell, she has my last name. I think you forget that sometimes she’s mine too”
Too angry to hear your wife, you hang up and sit on one of the plastic chairs. You don’t see it but your friends give each other a look and Steph decides to go out and comfort you. You breakdown in her arms and the rest come out for support.
“Why d-doesn’t she trust me w-with Charlie?” You ask your friends with bloodshot eyes.
“We aren’t sure what’s going on y/n/n but we all know one thing, you are an amazing mum. Nothing is going to change that” Alanna mentions, putting a hand on your knee.
“Thanks Lanz”
Macca offers to join the four of your friends for a walk and maybe some ice-cream on the way back from the place downstairs. You respectfully decline and the girls leave, giving you a tight hug each. You decide to have a long, hot shower before cuddling up in bed for a quick nap before dinner.
On the other side of the globe, Charlie had woken up hearing your voice on the call. She then proceeded to start crying because she couldn’t see you in the room. Charlie looked everywhere and in all the drawers and cupboards she could open and still nothing. While this was happening, Alex slipped on one of your Matilda’s hoodies and moved to scoop Charlie into her arms.
“Smell like mama” Charlie mumbles into Alex’s neck.
“We can call her later if you want baby” Charlie’s eyes light up and a wide smile spreads across her face.
The pair get ready before going downstairs for breakfast with the team. Alex walks into the meal room with Charlie on her hip, scrunching the yellow, green and grey material tightly in her small hands. Kelley catches sight of the mixed matched outfit and is about to say something before Alex gives her a stern glare. Alex grabs her vegan breakfast and some pancakes for Charlie before sitting with Kelley, Sonnett, Lindsey and Kristie.
“You ditching us for the girls down under Al?” Kelley teases.
“Never. Charlie’s missing y/n and she stopped crying when she had this so” Alex shrugs.
“I think Sam was saying she hasn’t seen Charlie since she could just walk” Kristie mentions earning a slight nudge, as to tell her to shut up.
Alex begins to think how long ago that was and it was at least a year ago, if not more. Alex realises what she’s don’t and she feels sick to her stomach. She pulls Charlie off her lap before taking the hoodie off and giving it to her. Alex grabbed her phone and moved to the side of the room before making a call.
You finish dinner when you see your phone ring from beside your plate. The photo of you and Alex on the beach pops up and you know she’s FaceTiming you. You decide to ignore it for now and call Alex back later. After a quick talk from the manager, you were all allowed a free night. Steph informs you she’s having a movie night with Caitlin and a few others if you wanted to join. You decline as you have to call Alex back.
You eventually get back to your room and you flop on the bed. You press the FaceTime button and put your arm behind you, slightly flexing your tattoo sleeve and muscles.
“Hey ba- oh my god” You laugh and take a screenshot of Alex’s face.
“What’s up Al?”
“I’m sorry for everything. I don’t mean to keep Charlie with me all the time. I’m just so used to you being here with the Wave. I didn’t give it a second thought. I’m really sorry baby”
“Hmm, it might take a little more than that” Alex rolls her eyes and calls Charlie over. She flips the camera and Charlie races over to Alex, as fast as her little legs can take her. You see something in Charlie’s hands and notice it’s your Matildas hoodie.
“She wouldn’t stop crying until I wore it” Alex mentions.
You talk with Charlie and Alex for a few hours until Steph came back in the room. You all talk for a little while longer until you and Steph both yawned.
“Mama and Aunt Steffy go to sleep now?” You looked at the time and realised you all talked for the last 2 hours or so.
“I have to go bubs so I can be ready for my game tomorrow”
“Okay mama. You call before play?”
“Of course I will. Te amo mucho princesa” Alex smiles at the interaction out of cameras sight.
“Te amo Mamá. Bye Aunt Steffy! Love you”
“See you soon baby girl, I love you too” Steph gets up from you bed and mentions she’s having a shower.
“I love you baby. I’m going to make it up to you both when you get home” Alex promises.
“Can’t wait my love”
You end the call and look up at the ceiling with a smile on your face. When Steph comes out of the bathroom, you two wind down before eventually going to sleep.
You finish the Cup of Nations on a high. You not only win the entire cup but get Player of the Tournament and the golden boot after scoring 7 goals in 3 games. You pack your suitcase and put your trophies plus your winners medal safely between clothes. You go down to the lobby and see most of the team there as some as staying behind to see family. Since it’s late at night, the bus to the airport is quite and most people are exhausted from the last 10 days.
After check in, customs and security lines, you and Emily arrive at your gate with 10 minutes to spare. You put your bag in the overhead and get comfortable in the seat. You pull out your phone to send Alex a quick text.
Hola mi amor, I’m finally on my way home. See you and princesa very soon. I love you Ale xoxo
See you soon baby x We can’t wait to see you
A short 18 hours later, you land and feel more tired than before the plane ride. After leaving the plane and getting your suitcase from the carousel, you text Alex to see where she is since Emily already left with her girlfriend.
Hey babe, I’m in the arrivals part. Where are you two?
Turn around x
You follow Alex’s instruction and you see Charlie running towards you. You meet her half way and lift her up in the air before you give her the tightest hug. You don’t realise you’re crying until you feel someone wipe your tears from your cheeks. You open your eyes and see Alex looking at you with sad eyes and a pout sporting her lips.
“No cuddles for me?”
“There’s always cuddles for you my love” You move Charlie to your hip and kiss Alex softly before giving her a hug.
“Let’s get you home”
Alex takes your luggage from beside you and you carry Charlie out to the car. You buckle Charlie in when she immediately grabs your hand tightly.
“Sit with me Mama” You nod and move around to the other side to put your seatbelt on.
The whole journey home consists of you holding Charlie’s hands and you both falling asleep. Alex stops at a red light and asks you a questions and when she doesn’t get a response, she turns around and sees you two cuddled up together. She takes a quick photo before driving the rest of the way home. Alex parks the car in the garage and goes to unbuckle Charlie when you tighten your arm around Charlie protectively.
“Hey, babe it’s just me” Alex reassures you.
“I’ll get her Al”
Alex gets your bag and starts going inside the house. You walk around to Charlie’s side and lift the toddler out of the car seat.
“We home Mama?”
“Yeah baby, we’re home”
You walk into the house with a half asleep Charlie resting on your shoulder, when you feel your shirt getting wet. You calm Charlie down before asking what’s wrong.
“What’s wrong bubs?”
“Missed you Mama” You pout and kiss her temple.
“I’m not going anywhere for a long time baby. I’m staying right here”

First Christmas - Kellex/Reader
I really did probably take at least a whole year to get to this and I'm so sorry. However, I'm really excited about this one. When I was clearing out my inbox, this was one I made sure to keep because I really did like the idea.
prompt: sorry i have no idea if your requests are opened but i was wondering if you could continue your kellex x reader fic and make one where r and kellex experience their first christmas together. maybe add some cute moments in and fluff between all three? idk it’s up to you!
warnings: none
words: 1199
Tumblr media
(Y/N) POV
"(Y/N), wake up!"
It wasn't exactly the best way to be woken up especially considering I wasn't even in school at the moment. I groaned as I looked over to my clock.
"Go away," I grumbled as I shoved my face back into my pillow. "It isn't even 11 am yet."
"Nope, you're getting up."
I felt Kelley pulling at my blanket and I immediately let go of my pillow to grab a hole of it. The two of us struggled for a moment before Kelley eventually won due to the fact that I was still practically asleep.
"Get up," Kelley said as she shook my shoulder. I only groaned again. "We're going to open up presents and then have breakfast as a family."
"Why can't we do this at a reasonable time?" I asked.
"This is a reasonable time."
"6 am is not a reasonable time, Mama. I don't even have homework to do."
I got not response from Kelley which made me smile as I started to doze off again.
"Nope! You called me Mama, so that means you have to get up and join us downstairs because it's Christmas and you're apart of this family."
I hadn't even realized that I had in fact called Kelley Mama. It was true to be fair. I had even admitted as much to my therapist, but I hadn't exactly expressed the feelings to Kelley or Alex yet.
"Then I vote that we change this tradition to start after 11 in the morning."
There was a knock on my door but I didn't have to look at it to know who was there.
"Alex, (Y/N) isn't getting up."
"And I thought I was supposed to be the kid in this family," I mumbled into my pillow
I ignored the two as they continued to talk to each other. That was until Alex sat next to me on my bed.
"You know if you get up, you can go back to sleep after breakfast."
"Hmmm, or I could just sleep until 11."
"She's not gonna stop until you get up," Alex softly said to me. I ignored her as I only shoved my face farther into my pillow. "Don't say I didn't warn you."
I felt Alex move away from me and off of my bed. I didn't even bother to question it, but I should have known better by now.
One second I was happily falling back to sleep with both of my parents leaving me to sleep.
And then the next, I had a bowl of cold water splashing on my head.
I couldn't jump up fast enough from that.
"DUDE!"
I immediately took to shaking my head to try to get the water off of my head, which in hindsight was a bad idea because I just made a bigger mess.
"What was that for!"
"It's Christmas!"
I glared at my shorter parent. I knew I couldn't entirely blame them. They still often forgot that I didn't have the same childhood as they did.
"I don't care! Christmas for me does NOT mean the same thing that it does for you!" I snapped. It was entirely fair of me to snap at them for them just wanting to include me in their holiday traditions, but in the moment I didn't care. "For me, it's just another day! It's just a day to be reminded that I'm not like other people my age! I'm not supposed to get things on Christmas! It's always just been another day for me!"
I shoved past both of the older women as I headed for my bathroom. Neither of them made a move to follow me as I slammed the bathroom door behind me and locked it.
I didn't even bother moving toward the shower as I slid down against the door. I kept my head between my knees as I took a few deep breaths.
It had been uncalled for. It truly had. Kelley and Alex were just trying to make sure that they included me. It wasn't fair to them that I had blown up on them for doing exactly what they should have.
I sighed before I got up and grabbed a towel. I used it to dry my head off before I brushed my teeth. I was at least going to make sure I had time to gain the courage before I accepted my consequences.
I was just about to put my hand on the door knob when the door echoed through the door.
"(Y/N)? I'm sorry," Kelley said from the other side. I froze as I placed my hand on the door instead. "I shouldn't be trying to push you so hard. I know that you aren't used to this. I know that, but I just want you to feel like you're apart of this family because you are. It's something I have to work on, I know. It's just... I want you to call me Mama and I want you to call Alex Mom. I just want to make sure you know you're apart of this family."
I sighed as I took it in and rested my forehead against the door. They were both so good to me. I really didn't deserve it. I wasn't sure how long I stood there processing what exactly she had said, but I knew it must have been a couple of minutes at least.
"I'm gonna be downstairs with Alex. We'll wait on you until you are ready to join us."
I quickly opened the door before darting forward to wrap her into a hug.
"I'm sorry. I'm really, really sorry."
"Hey, (Y/N), you have nothing to be sorry about."
"But I hurt your feelings. I know I did."
"No. No, you didn't. I promise, (Y/N)," Kelley said as I refused to let her go. "I swear, you didn't. You were right. We keep trying to throw you into things that you aren't ready for. You can take all the time you need. We will even change our traditions because you are want is important here."
"I want to be apart of the traditions."
"Hey, and you will be," Kelley assured me as she pulled back so that she could look at my face. "You always will be. I promise. Alex and I aren't going anywhere. And if we have to change traditions, then we'll change traditions for you. Just keep in mind that we're still getting used to this as well."
"I love you," I admitted. It was my first time saying it. "I love you both. Please just don't leave me."
"We won't. I promise, (Y/N). We won't leave you."
I pulled her back into a hug. It meant so much just to hear that.
"Tell you what, we'll start talking with you about traditions so that we can all have fun with them," Kelley said. "How about that."
"Could we... Could we keep the early morning Christmas tradition?" I asked hesitantly. "Maybe not the dumping water on my head, but I think I'd like to have the early morning Christmas next year."
"We can do whatever you want. I promise."
"Thanks... Mama."

Hidden and left to rot
"Where are you two going?" Kelley started at her younger family members, that were sneaking into her mom's room Gael looked at her nervously. "I want to fond if there's something wrong. Tía Isabela is expessially upset lately." Kelley starled. "Really? You know what? I'm going to help"
Cracked au
CW: Potentially sensenitive topic
Her hands shook as she kept reading the old diary. She felt like her heart was stabbed with every word.
Her mom didn't stop loving her dad in the last few years. She never loved him. The only reason behind this marriage was because Bisabuela forced her to. If it weren't for her, Mama and Papa would never marry. Kelley just wouldn't exist. And this realization struck her hard. Her whole life existed only because Isabela was forced to marry a person she never wanted to. Carry a child she never wanted.
She felt her breathing getting heavier as her eyes were reading the neat text again and again. Where mama cried about the upcoming wedding. Not because of happiness, but because she was going to spend her life with Mariano. How she kept insulting a non-existing child that she was carrying under her growing belly. Nineteen-years-old could feel tears welling up in her eyes. Her mom didn't want her. And this realization hurts way too much.
A moment later, this painful sadness started to boil up inside, getting ready to turn into anger. Why didn't mom think about everyone else's feelings? She betrayed Dad, used his love just to make herself a good girl. It wasn't fair for him... For anyone.
Would Isabela force her to marry someone too? Kelley's hand clenched into fists without her wanting to.
"What is wrong?" She gritted her teeth at her cousin's voice. Of course, Gael already sensed her anger... or sadness... or whatever she felt. What did she feel?
"Kelley, what is this?" Leisha asked nervously, not being used to her sister getting so emotional. With a blank face, the eldest passed the diary and looked away, not bothering to see how the teen's face widened in shock. Kelley really didn't want to see her, anyone...
Gael winced in panic as he read the diary as well. He wanted to find something to understand why Tia was unhappy, not to hurt his primo segundo. "Hey, Kelley, it's okay."
"It's fucking not!" She yelled, stomping her foot in rage. Nothing was normal right now. The diary, the truth—Kelly'd rather forget this all. Why couldn't he just shut up and leave those problems be? Apparently, this shit started way before their whole generation was born! Why didn't Gael ignore it like adults always did?
"Listen..." He started trying to help, but Kelley didn't listen to him. She grabbed the diary out of her sister's hands, heading outside.
"Hey!" Leisha let out an indignant yelp that was left unnoticed by Kelley. She had better things to do.

Kelley walked down the stairs, seeing how her mama was fixing the flowers in a vase next to their family photo. "Listen here, mother." She yelled angrily; the word'mother' was bursting with sarcasm. Isabela looked surprised for a moment, but soon her expression got strict.
"What's with your tone?"
"Oh, nothing!" She rolled her eyes, glowing quietly, as she stood right in front of Isabela. "Just this." She threw the diary on a cabinet with a loud slap.
"What is..." Isabela started, but her voice got stuck as realization hit her. She gasped in shock, and her face became fearful. "Lelly..."
The young woman interrupted her. "Don't you fucking 'Lelly' me!" Her voice turned into screaming. How could she use those stupid nicknames right now? Isabela didn't call her 'Lelly' for years. "You lied to me!" She screamed,  anger was boiling up.
"I didn't lie to anyone!" Isabela yelled, causing her daughter to scoff. "And you had no right to look through my stuff!" She demanded, this time a bit more confidently.
"Well, excuse me!" Young woman threw her hands into the air. She felt like her heart was filled with poison and it kept leaking through her brain, splitting out. "It's just really fun to read how your own mother says that she hates you more than anything!"
"Do you think I've enjoyed this?! I never wanted kids!"
"Thank you for finally admitting it!" Kelley scoffed, towering over her mother. "You're manipulative bitch!
Isabela's eyes sparkled in rage that she had buried down for so long. "You have no right to talk with me like this." Right now, she didn't feel like she was in her forties; she felt like an angry teenager, filled with hatred.
Her daughter crossed her arms. "Why should I care?! You said you wished I was never born." She wiped her eyes, feeling the tears on her cheeks.
"It's not like this..."
"THEN WHAT IS IT?" Kelley yelled so loudly that she was sure that everyone in the house would hear it. "You're just was too weak to do what you want!"
"...Hey... Can we... just discuss it?" Both women winced at Gael's unsure demand as he slowly walked down to them. "I can feel you two are upset...".
Isabela's voice dropped, but it was still filled with anger. "I am fine."
"I'm not going to just discuss it!" Kelley breathed out. "This bitch deserves to be shouted at."
"IF YOU CALL ME LIKE THIS ONE MORE TIME..."
"Please!" Gael begged, as the true son of his mother, he preferred to keep things calm, but both Isabela and Kel ignored him.
"What about papa?!" Kelley was indignant, clenching her shaking fists. "What would he feel if he knew that you never loved him?"
It just wasn't fair. Not to her, not to anyone.
"Do you think it's fun being married to a person you never loved?" Isabela gasped in annoyance. "I wished to be free for years! But sometimes you can't be selfish! Sometimes you have to do things for the family's sake! Even if you hate it!"
Gael stood between them, spreading his arms to create distance between mother and daughter. "Let's all take a deep breath and talk it through." He begged, trying to calm down both women.
"You know what? I don't care!" Kelley muttered through her teeth. "I'm going into my room. Not like you would care anyway."
Isabela and Gael stared at how she rushed upstairs. A few seconds later, both of them heard a loud sound of the slamming door.

hey! i’m talia (25, pst) and i’m slowly getting myself back into writing following the break that life forced me to take. i’ve mostly roleplayed in groups but in wanting less restrictions and the hope to be able to write more varying stories i’ve decided to jump back into 1x1 and indie rp. i do write on discord but i honestly prefer tumblr. i’m a creature of habit, what can i say?
here are my favorite fcs to use:
priscilla quintana, melisa pamuk, nathalie kelley, ana de armas, yara shahidi, julia dalavia, melissa barrera, kylie bunbury, phoebe tonkin, im jinah, rachel mcadams, jessica chastain, ozge yagiz, alicia vikander, and rebecca rittenhouse
casey deidrick, ryan gosling, kendrick sampson, manny montana, can yaman, chris evans, henry golding, jesse williams, jon bernthal, jamie dornan, paul mescal, lewis tan, and theo james
note: there are more fcs to love this is just the short list and tend to be my go-tos!
when it comes to wanted opposites i am fairly open. i much prefer you use an fc that you have the most muse for. that said, i will happily take any of the fcs listed above as opposites!
if you’d like to interact, please like or comment on this post or shoot me a message! continue reading below the cut for more information including my rules!
writing style: i do use legacy editor and prefer it. however, i am all good with using beta editor should you need to as i understand that not everyone has access to legacy editor. my writing range tends to go from a small paragraph to multiple and i do love the utilization of gifs. i would prefer replies not be excessively formatted and if possible please use small/medium gifs — accessibility!
plotting style: i love to set up a plot and release the muses lol. it’s much more fun to just let the muses figure things out and see where the writing takes us and how things develop and progress naturally. that said, i love tossing around headcanons and setting up backstories and all that good stuff. i prefer not to overly plot. i think random starters and tossing whomever you’re musing in is great fun! its great to see what we can come up with!
characters: i do have a roster of muses that are ready to go and love your muses down. but i am also more than happy and willing to create muses specific to plots!
Adria Arjona as Milena Solis, a 30 yr old vertex cinema owner
Alicia Vikander as Beate Hellström, a 34 yr old clinical psychologist
Ana de Armas as Benita Montero, a 34 yr old lounge singer & amateur art dealer
Can Yaman as Taner Dursun, a 33 yr old former bodyguard & security company owner
Casey Deidrick as Cash Henley, a 34 yr old musician
Casey Deidrick as Greyson Hendrix, a 35 yr old construction contractor
Casey Deidrick as Matthew Sullivan, a 34 yr old beer maker & owner of Sully’s Tavern (looking for baby mama & longterm ex-girlfriend plots)
Chris Evans as Samuel Harrison, a 38 yr old novelist
Henry Golding as Sean Lim, a 36yr old art restoration specialist
Im Jinah as Nari Moon, a 30 yr old hacker and hotelier heir
Jamie Dornan as Conway Dowling, a 42 yr old restauranteur
Jesse Williams as Ezra Maverick, a 41 yr old professional poker player
Jessica Alba as Kassandra Solano, a 42 yr old real estate agent
Jessica Chasten as Shay Westwood, a 45 yr old ATF agent
Jon Bernthal as Nathan Ford, a 44 yr old former cop, trust fund baby, and now barista
Julia Dalavia as Noa Santana Teixeira, a 28 yr old podcast host & creator
Kendrick Sampson as Nolan Kingston, a 34 yr old investigative journalist
Kylie Bunbury as Simone Burke, a 34 yr old medical examiner
Lewis Tan as Alexander Hou, a 38 yr old real estate developer
Lucas Bravo as Jonas Ernshaw, a 38 yr old private investigator with a new identity and dark past
Manny Montana as Romo Beltran, a 40 yr old tattoo artist
Melisa Asli Pamuk as Ela Aydin, a 31 yr old author
Melisa Asli Pamuk as Serra Kavas, a 32 yr old actress & artist
Melisa Pamuk as Halide Demirci, a 31 yr old publisher
Melissa Barrera as Mia Franco, a 32 yr old private investigator
Nathalie Kelley as Angelia Paredes, a 35 yr old book cover artist & voice actor
Özge Yağız as Reyhan Saylak, a 28 yr old disgraced ballet dancer
Paul Mescal as Keith Buckley, a 28 yr old coder
Phoebe Tonkin as Cheyenne O’Hara, a 32 yr old theology professor
Phoebe Tonkin as Genevieve Bardot, a 31 yr old professional photographer
Priscilla Quintana as Andrea Romero, a 30 yr old drug manufacturer & bartender
Priscilla Quintana as Antonella Ibarra, a 30 yr old chef
Priscilla Quintana as Lucía Socarras, a 30 yr old heir to a horse racing farm/business & bloodstock agent

Ryan Gosling as Joshua Lincoln, a 33 yr old MotoX racer & Flat track racer & bank robber
Theo James as Ethan Elmore, a 40 yr old thief
Yara Shahidi as Nima Sanaz Abbasi, a 25 yr old aspiring filmmaker
themes: town/city, slice of life, crime/gang, espionage, mature
these are my rules for interacting/writing:
please be 21+
all muses must be 25+
please be patient. i work a full-time job and have my family to take care of so i will be slow to do replies during the week. most of my activity will be on the weekends.
extension of #3 — i tend to do replies in the order i receive them unless i have insane muse for a particular thread and i need to get it done and out of the way because it’s all i can think about. please please please do not assume this means disinterest if i do not do your thread first or if i do replies out of order. muse is weird and these actions do not mean i do not enjoy or love our threads.
communicate! i cannot read your mind and you cannot read mine so i appreciate communication if something is off or wrong or if you have questions or would like to chat and plot about threads. i love talking headcanons too btw so feel free to hit me up any time!
if ever you’re not feeling a thread, muse, connection you have all the right to drop the thread/connection. again, i would appreciate communication or a heads up but i also understand.
i do not chase down replies. if your reply doesn’t show up in my activity or if i’ve missed it on my dash then it will not end up in my drafts. please don’t take this personally. i do not have the time to go hunting for things usually. if you feel a reply was missed i’d appreciate a nudge or a link. that said, i will do my best to stay on top of things!
i have adhd. concentrating and focus is a challenge for me. i can also be forgetful. just a heads up is all.
basically, i love long replies and writing novels back and forth but at the same time they can also overwhelm me fairly easily. i do tend to write long replies but never ever feel the need to match me. write what works for you and your muse.
discord is available upon request!

🧠 Kelley :)
🧠 Pick a character, and I'll tell you my favorite headcanon for them - Kelley
Hmm, this one’s hard. I might jump on the same train of thought that @emalemaleigh was on earlier and say mama bear Kelley, I always love it whenever she’s there for her friends and teammates, whether it’s standing up for them or just being there for them!🙂

Catching Flights (And Also so Many Feelings)
“You have your boots?” Alex asked as she guided you through the airport.
“Seriously, Alex? We’re going to the World Cup, of course I’ve got my boots.”
“And you are sure you have everything you need in your Little suitcase?” Kelley asked from your other side.
“My moms packed that, so I guarantee I have more than enough. Come on guys, I’m Big right now.”
Alex held one hand up in mock defense, the other remaining intertwined with yours. Kelley ruffled your hair slightly,
“We know, kid, but we promised your moms we would look after you. I have no doubt that they would fly around the world to hurt Alex and I if they found out we weren’t checking on you. And they’d swaddle you up and take you back to California with them.”
You chuckle slightly at Kelley’s words, but you have no doubt that they actually would. Your moms were obviously thrilled when you got called up for the World Cup team, but they stressed because neither of them would be there. The stress only multiplied when they realized that your pseudo-big sister, Mal, wouldn’t be there either.
The three of you had made it into the security line before anyone spoke next.
“You’ve got a pull-up on, right buddy?” Kelley whispered down to you.
“Kellll,” you whine, stretching the word. “‘m big, promise. Don’t need one.”
Alex and Kelley both manage to hide their smiles as they hear you beginning to slip. The rest of the team in line behind you, noticing your slight changes, started placing bets on how long Big you would last.
Matching glances from Alex and Kelley have you wiggling slightly.
“I do, Mama made me,” you whisper sadly.
Both women silently thank Christen for fighting this battle for them. Now they just needed to keep it on you.
Alex squeezes your hand tightly in response, leading you forward as the line moves.
They reached a split in the line, an officer standing and directing every other person to each line. As he looked at you, you dropped- hard. Your hand clung to Alex, your other hand desperately reaching for Kelley. Tears filled your eyes as you realized now you wouldn’t have your moms or your stand-in parents.
Kelley pulled you fully into her, rocking you slightly and whispering soothing things as Alex pleaded to allow the three of you together. As she babbled some excuse about you being a first time flier, the officer just looked pointedly at her and continued echoing, “every other line.”
The two adults looked behind them, grateful to see Kristie already shifting her bags so she could gather you into her arms.
“C’mere buggy,” she coos quietly to you, noticing the tears on your cheeks.
Reluctantly, you let go of Kelley and allow Kristie to pull you into her. Alex and Kelley sigh as they see your knuckles turn white from gripping her shirt, but they are quickly escorted to their appropriate line.
Kristie struggles to pull both of your bags and keep you tucked into her as she guides the two of you towards the security you were directed to. In an impressive feat, she manages to get all of the baggage onto the conveyor belt.
At this point, Lindsey steps in from behind. She takes you from Kristie, distracting you while pulling off your shoes. Kristie takes this opportunity to hurry through her screening, turning around after to wait for you.
Lindsey, her arms still around you, directs you up to the machine. You try to toddle directly through to Kristie, but are quickly stopped. Tears drip slowly as you’re made to stand for your screening.
The situation is only made worse when you need to be patted down. Kristie tries to protest, but it dies on her lips as she receives a glare from an agent. Lindsey and Kristie watch from opposite sides as you begin sobbing. Luckily, it was over quickly and a very confused TSA agent ushered you over to Kristie. She doesn’t hesitate to pick you up, holding you close as she begins trying to calm you down.
With a sobbing baby in her arms, she moves to try to collect the baggage off of the belt. Lindsey and Emily- who also was in this line- wave her off. They grab both of your luggage, allowing Kristie to turn her full attention to you.
Alex and Kelley see the group walking towards them, your face hidden in Kristie’s neck as she carries you. Your sobs had slowed to hiccups at this point, but you were still visibly upset.
Alex quickly hands her bags off to Kelley, cooing as she pulls you into her arms. You go willingly, a teary mess. Your face was coated in tears and snot, and your breath was hitching and irregular as you babbled something that sounded suspiciously like a call for your moms. Alex placed her lips on the top of your head in a firm kiss, stroking your hair back.
You had somewhat cheered up by the time the team had reached the gate. After verifying that the gate they needed actually existed, they find an empty alcove nearby. This was the start of their next mission, which involved tiring you out as much as possible.
Over the next few hours, you were passed around to various members of the team. Kelley and Emily sat on the floor across the room from each other, rolling a ball. They allowed you to toddle after it, only passing the ball when you got close. The game eventually ended when you had fallen over too many times and had gotten frustrated at not having the ball. After Alex had to scrape your crying form off the floor, this game was no longer allowed. Various rounds of tag, peek-a-boo filled the remaining time.
Soon, an overhead announcement informed the team that boarding would begin in 30 minutes. Alex and Kelley scooped you and your diaper bag up, toting you off to the family restroom. Despite your grunting and wiggling- and a very close call to you rolling onto the floor- the two had gotten you changed into a nighttime diaper and your pajamas. The crocodile footy pajamas may raise some eyebrows, but weirder things happen in the airport.
Dressed for bed, the two women take you back to the quiet area that the team had camped out in. Most members were off buying plane snacks and making final trips to the bathroom, so it was relatively calm. The three of you cuddle into a corner, and Alex pulls out her phone and quickly FaceTimes your moms. Your face lights up and you reach out for the screen. All four women feel their hearts break as you reach out, confused as to why your moms weren’t hugging you back. Christen leaves the frame slightly to compose herself when you start sniffling, tears pooling in your eyes. Tobin quickly distracts you, and soon you’re giggling at how silly your Mommy is.
Too soon, it’s time to board the plane. A teary goodbye was said, your moms blowing you tons of kisses. You wetly kiss your hand, shoving it at the phone screen- returning their kisses with just as much love.
Boarding was easy compared to security. The gate agent didn’t bat an eye as you were rolled up on the top of Kelley’s suitcase in pajamas. She simply scanned your tickets and wished you a nice flight.
The team settled into their section of the plane, pulling the curtains around them. You were comfortably sitting between Kelley and Alex, constantly leaning over Kelley to try and see out of the window. You were soon distracted as the safety messages began playing on the screen on the seat in front of you. You lean forward, Alex’s arm around your waist to keep you from toppling off of your seat. You begin jabbing at the buttons, curiously investigating the new technology. A head pops up from the seat in front of you, Megan playfully glaring at you.
“Why’s there a monster attacking the back of my seat?! Who even let a monster on the plane?”
You break out in rambunctious giggles at how silly Megan’s being. There’s no monster on the plane, it’s just you!
Soon enough, the plane begins taxing towards the runway. Alex hands you a bottle of milk, guiding it to your mouth as you begin taking off. You whimper and fuss slightly at the changes, but the two women calmly comfort you and keep you suckling on the bottle. As soon as the plane is leveled out, Kelley undoes your seatbelt and pulls you into her lap. She cradled you, taking the bottle from your hands.
You're happier now that you’re in your usual position. You’re just a little baby, and your Mama always fed you your baba. It was much too big and heavy for you, and it was your special time. She would cradle you in one arm, gently feeding you your baba with the other hand. And she would always sing a song or tell you a story. Then, when you had drunk all of your milk like the good girl you were, she would quickly burp you so your tummy wouldn’t hurt. Then, the two of you would rock in the big comfy chair, Mama stroking your face until you fell asleep. You never had to fall  asleep in your crib, unless you had been really naughty.
Your eyelids are beginning to droop as you reach the halfway point of your bottle. Still, you are moving slightly- unsettled. Until Alex slips headphones over your ears and holds her phone up in front of you.
Your face lights up when you see Christen on the phone. Alex had teased Christen and Tobin for pre-recording a massive amount of videos for you, but they seemed to know what they were doing.
The two women on the plane watched as your sleepy eyes started lovingly and intently at your Mama on the screen. Between the lull of the plane, the warm bodies surrounding you, and your Mama on the phone, you fell asleep quickly.
Kelley and Alex were exhausted and the World Cup hadn’t even begun.

You’re What? - A Kellex/Jessie Fleming Imagine
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Request: I combined two here! First is kellex x adopted!daughter where R has a gf/bf and kellex get super protective of her and the second is R tells the team she has a gf and reveals it’s Jessie, enjoy!
“Mom?”
Kelley turned from where she was putting away laundry to see Y/N standing in the doorway.
 “Hey kiddo, what’s up?”
“Can I talk to you about something?” Y/N was wringing her hands nervously. Kelley immediately stood up straight and left the pile of laundry she was folding.
“Of course, come here,” Kelley climbed in bed and patted the spot beside her. Y/N joined her.
“How did you know…” Y/N said after a minute, “That you were… That you… That you didn’t like boys?” Kelley took a deep breath. She won’t lie, she knew this day would come. Y/N was getting older and it was only a matter of time before she started dating, but Kelley wanted to prolong the time she had left with her baby.
“Oh. Okay,” Kelley said, “Well, I always knew I didn’t feel the same way as the other girls did about boys. But I never knew there was another option until I went away to college and I met girls who were like me and who were happy. But it’s a personal journey for everyone. You might not always know, you might think you know then change your mind. But one thing is for certain.” Kelley nudged Y/N’s shoulder until she looked up. “I will always love you, no matter what.”
 “Okay,” Y/N said quietly.
“Do you wanna talk about something with me?” Kelley asked. Y/N shook her head. “Okay then you can help me finish this laundry before your Mama comes home and yells at us.”
 ***
Alex was surprised when Y/N asked if she could come grocery shopping with her. Y/N usually never wanted to come along, because Alex went on Saturday mornings and Y/N wanted to sleep in. But Alex wasn’t going to say no to company, especially if it meant more hands to carry the grocery bags.
Y/N was quiet on the car ride, despite Alex’s attempt at conversation. She didn’t even perk up when her favourite song played on the radio. Alex was worried but knew Y/N would open up when she wanted to.
“When did you start dating someone?”
Y/N’s question shocked Alex. Kelley had shared what Y/N had asked her the other day, but Alex wanted to play it off as simple curiosity. She didn’t want to think that Y/N was going to start dating someone.
“I was fourteen,” Alex finally said, “And he played on the school soccer team. We dated for a few months before we broke up when he plagiarized my English essay and we both failed the assignment.”
“When did you start… dating girls?”
“I,” Alex took a deep breath, “I had a brief… relationship in high school with a girl but I didn’t start seriously dating girls until I was older. It was hard for me to accept myself and be out because I didn’t have anyone in my life to look up to. I imagine it’s easier for kids now because there’s so many people who are out and happy.”
 “Like you and Mom?”
“Exactly,” Alex said, “Is there something that’s been bothering you?” Y/N shrugged, but didn’t answer. “Well, if there’s ever anything you know you can talk to me or your Mom about it, okay?”
 “Yeah.”
 ***
Kelley walked past Y/N’s room and heard voices.
“No, I haven’t heard,” Y/N said, “I’ll have to ask.” There’s a beat of silence, then: “They probably will, I mean I normally do… No I didn’t… What am I supposed to say? They’d never let me leave the house if they knew.”
Kelley’s hackles instantly rise. What was Y/N plotting? She wanted to know so badly who Y/N was speaking to, so she could know who to scare away before they made Y/N do something rebellious.
“And it’s not like you’ve told anyone,” Y/N said, then she giggled. Kelley had heard many kinds of Y/N’s laughter. A snort at Sonnett’s stupid puns, a chuckle at a TV show, a full belly laugh when Kelley tripped over a rock in a parking lot. She didn’t know Y/N knew how to giggle.
“Stop it,” Another giggle, “I have to go, it’s almost time for dinner. No! Stop, I’ll call you later. Bye.”
Kelley rushed quietly from the hallway, knowing Y/N was probably going to come out for dinner and not wanting her to know Kelley had been eavesdropping. For the first time in a long time, Kelley had no idea what was going on with her child.
 ***
“Are you sure you still want to come to camp with us?” Alex asked. Y/N nodded. “You don’t have to, I know it’s probably not as much fun now that you’re older. There isn’t going to be any kids your age there.”
“Canada’s staying in the same hotel,” Kelley said, “That Fleming kid is going to be there. You’re alright hanging out with her right?” Y/N nodded, turning away so her moms won’t see her blush.
“Oh you’re right,” Alex said, “Well if you’re sure you wanna come with, we’d definitely enjoy having you there.”
“Yeah, so we can cuddle and snuggle you whenever we want,” Kelley grabbed Y/N and hugged her close, kissing her face while Y/N laughed and tried to squirm away.
“Oh let her go,” Alex said, prying Kelley off Y/N, “It’s my turn.” Then Alex grabbed Y/N and squeezed her tight, rocking back and forth.
“Okay okay we get it, you love me, let’s just go to the airport before I die of embarrassment.”
 ***
When they arrived at the hotel, there was a group of Canada players already in the lobby, Jessie Fleming among them. As soon as Kelley saw them, she grabbed Y/N’s arm and dragged her over.
“Hey! Great to see you all again,” Kelley said, “I just wanted to introduce Y/N to Jessie, since they’re the only teens here.” Kelley pushed Y/N forward.
 “Um, hi,” Y/N said.
 “Hi,” Jessie said back.
“Great! I’ll let you two chat while me and your Mama check in, okay?”
Before Y/N could say anything, Kelley was gone. The Canadian players moved away as well, leaving the two teens along. As soon as everyone was out of earshot, the two burst into laughter.
“You could’ve at least told her we knew each other,” Jessie said.
“I didn’t know she was going to do that,” Y/N said.
In all honesty, Y/N didn’t tell her moms the real reason she wanted to come with them to camp. She wanted to come just to see Jessie. No one knew except them but they were sort of maybe dating. Y/N was really happy, she was nervous of course, about how her moms would react, how their teams would react, but mostly she really liked Jessie. Everything was still new, they met a few months earlier when Canada and the US played a friendly and both Y/N and Jessie were there. They didn’t really try to be sneaky then, it just happened that whenever they saw each other, no one else was around, but the last night before they flew home they snuck out on purpose. They hid in the stairwell talking and when Y/N had to sneak back into her room before her moms woke up, Jessie had kissed her and they’ve been dating ever since.
“Well at least we won’t have to sneak around,” Jessie said.
“Yeah for now, but like…” Y/N looked at the ground and blushed.
 “But like?”
“Well… maybe I wanna kiss you and stuff,” Y/N mumbled.
“That’s good, because I wanna kiss you and stuff,” Jessie said quietly back.
Y/N moved subtly closer until her pinky brushed the back of Jessie’s hand. They were both smiling shyly at each other. Y/N jumped when a hand clapped onto her shoulder.
“Got our room keys!” Kelley said, holding three room keys in her hand, “I’m glad to see you two getting along, but we should go unpack. I’ll see you around Jessie.”
 “Bye,” Y/N said.
 “Bye,” Jessie replied.
 ***
The next day after both teams were done practicing, the teams decided to take advantage of the nearly empty hotel and the free large conference room they hotel reserved for them. Kelley and Alex were getting ready in their room while Y/N lounged on the bed.
“Are you sure you don’t want one of us to stay?” Kelley asked, “We don’t know how long we’ll be gone.”
 “It’s okay,” Y/N said.
“Are you sure? We don’t want you getting bored.”
“I’m okay,” Y/N hadn’t looked up at them at all, instead looking down at her phone.
“Who are you texting that’s so important you can’t look at me when I’m talking to you?” Kelley asked. Y/N looked up sheepishly.
“Sorry,” She said, “It’s just Jessie. She’s not going tonight either. She’s sixteen so… also can’t drink. Is it okay if I go hang out in her room while you’re gone?”
“Of course!” Alex yelled from the bathroom, “We think that’s a great idea, just try and be in bed by 11 okay?”
 “Okay Mama,” Y/N said.
“If you promise to get at least six hours of sleep tonight,” Kelley said, “You can spend the night in her room.” Kelley winked at Y/N. For a moment, Y/N was terrified that her Mom knew. Then she realized if her Mom knew, she wouldn’t be letting Y/N spend the night with her unsupervised.
“Okay,” Alex said, coming out of the bathroom. “You know where we’ll be and call us if you need us, okay?” Y/N nodded. “I love you,” Alex kissed Y/N on the forehead.
 “Love you too.”
“And I love you three,” Kelley said. She gave Y/N a hug, “Be good,” She said.
Y/N waited a few minutes after her moms left before she left and headed to Jessie’s room. Jessie had already told her that her roommate had left so they had uninterrupted alone time for a few hours. Y/N knocked on Jessie’s door and grinned when Jessie let her in. They sat down side by side on Jessie’s bed.
“So what did you want to do?” Jessie asked.
“Well,” Y/N bit her lip and let her hand slide over Jessie’s, “I missed you.”
 “I missed you too.”
 “And I thought that maybe… since we’re alone… we could… you know…”
“Yeah?” Jessie said, shifting closer. Y/N nodded. “I would like that.”
 “Yeah?”
 “Yeah.”
Y/N let her eyes slip shut when Jessie’s face moved closer to hers, their hands tangled together between them.
 ***
“And then we scrimmaged,” Jessie said.
They were laying in Jessie’s bed, Y/N with her head on Jessie’s shoulder and their hands raised above them, their fingers tangling together. They had kissed a bit (a lot) and now they were cuddling while Jessie told Y/N all about her day.
 “And I scored,” Jessie said.
“You did?” Y/N said, “That’s so amazing, baby.”
“Baby?” Jessie questioned. Y/N blushed and hid her face in Jessie’s neck. “Noooo, don’t be embarrassed, I like it, it’s cute.”
 “You’re cute,” Y/N mumbled.
 “You’re cuter.”
Y/N lifted her head to stick her tongue out at Jessie. Jessie just laughed and Y/N couldn’t help but kiss her again. They were so distracted, they didn’t hear the door open.
“Whoopsies!” Janine said loudly, “Didn’t realize you had company.”
The two sprang apart. Y/N watched Janine’s eyes widen when they made eye contact.
“Oh,” Janine said, “Jessie you dog!” Jessie groaned.
 “Janine please–”
“I’m proud of you! I didn’t think you had it in you to bag Kellex’s kid, but I was wrong clearly,” Janine said, “I can leave if you two want privacy.”
“No!” Jessie said loudly. Janine blinked.
“No one knows yet,” Y/N said quickly. Janine nodded understandingly.
“I see, well your secret’s safe with me,” Janine zipped her lips, “But since we’re all here, can I give Y/N the best friend speech or is this not the right time? And I do need to say, Jessie, no way you’re switching alliances ‘kay? You can do whatever you want when I’m not here but Jessie we still hate the Americans.”
 “You’re American,” Y/N pointed out.
“Eh,” Janine waved her hand, “Legally maybe. But not in spirit.”
Y/N couldn’t help but laugh, and soon Jessie and Janine joined in. After Janine changed out of her party clothes, she laid on her bed and the three turned on the only TV channel the hotel had. Y/N had to admit, it felt really nice to be able to open with someone, to not have to hide the fact that Jessie Fleming was her girlfriend. Maybe she needed to tell her moms.
“Jess?” Y/N whispered after Janine fell asleep. Jessie hummed in response. “I think I wanna tell my moms about us, if that’s okay.” Jessie nodded.
“Yeah, I’ve been thinking maybe I should tell my parents too.”
“Okay,” Y/N whispered, “I’ll tell them in the morning, then we don’t have to sneak around so much.”
“It’s gonna be okay,” Jessie said.
 ***
“How was your night with Jessie?” Alex asked.
“Good,” Y/N said. Alex handed Kelley a water bottle which Kelley took with a slight groan. Y/N should’ve expected her Mom to get a little too drunk and wake up feeling a little worse for wear. “Actually,” Y/N said. Her moms both look at her. “I wanted to talk to you guys about her.”
“Why? Did something happen?” Kelley sat up, despite her earlier protests that her head hurt too much to move. “If she upset you in some way I will have words, no one hurts my baby.”
 “No!” Y/N interrupted quickly, “It’s nothing like that. I just… I wanted to tell you both that she’s kinda… We’re kinda… dating.”
 “You’re what?”
 “Dating?” Y/N squeaked out.
“I didn’t say you could start dating,” Kelley said, “You’re still a baby, she’s way too old for you.”
“She’s only a year older than me!”
 “That’s too old!”
 “Mom!”
“And what did you do last night? I can’t believe we let you stay overnight with her, you are not allowed to be alone with her anymore,” Kelley said, “You’re too young for sex, you’re too young for dating.”
“Nothing happened last night!” Y/N said, “We were just talking!”
 “Oh sure ‘just talking’.”
“Her roommate was there! We just watched TV and talked, god Mom I’m not stupid.”
“Kelley,” Alex said before Kelley could say anything else, “Let’s be adults about this. Y/N, how long has this been going on?”
“Just a few months,” Y/N said, “Since the last camp we were both at.”
“And do you like her?” Alex asked. Y/N nods emphatically.
“If she hurts you I’ll kill her,” Kelley said, “She’ll never play soccer again I can promise that.”
 “Kelley!”
 “Mom!”
 “No one hurts my baby.”
“Look,” Alex put her hands on Y/N’s shoulder and looked into her eyes, “We just want you to be happy and if she makes you happy then we’re happy. Right Kel?” Kelley stubbornly glared at the wall. “Right Kel?”
“Fine,” Kelley said, “We’re happy. But that doesn’t mean we’re not going to scare the ever living shi–”
“We’d like to meet her and get to know her,” Alex interrupted.
“I think she’d like that,” Y/N says nervously, worried about whether her moms will scare her girlfriend off.
 ***
“So,” Kelley started, “Jessie, tell me about yourself.”
The four of them, Kelley, Alex, Y/N, and Jessie, were out to dinner. Kelley and Alex arranged it, all Y/N and Jessie had to do was show up. Y/N was sweating, nervous about how her moms would act and how Jessie would respond. Y/N wouldn’t know what to do if her moms didn’t like her girlfriend or if her girlfriend didn’t like her parents.
“Well, I’m sixteen, I’m from London, Ontario, but I’m currently living in BC. I have an older brother and a younger sister. I play soccer, well,” Jessie blushed, “You already knew that.”
“And do you have any future plans?” Kelley asked.
“Oh, uh, yeah, well I’m planning on going to college. I haven’t committed yet but I’ve been looking into UCLA and I think I’ll uh, take some kind of engineering. But obviously, going pro is the goal.”
“What if Y/N decides to go to school elsewhere? How long will you want to do long distance? What about after your soccer career ends? What about–”
“Mom!” Y/N hissed, “Mama, tell her to stop.”
“Kelley,” Alex said. Kelley leaned back in her chair. “I would like to know your intentions with my daughter.”
 “Mama!”
“Well, I really like her,” Jessie said.
 “Just like?”
“Well, it’s not that… I mean, we’ve only been dating a few months and–”
“That’s such a short period of time, how can we know you’re serious about her?”
 “I just meant–”
“I’m not going to sit here and watch you break my daughter’s heart.”
 “I–”
“Mom! Mama!” Y/N snapped, “Stop it!” Her throat felt tight and she felt tears pricking at the corners of her eyes. “You’re supposed to be getting to know her not interrogating her! Why can’t you just trust me?!”
Y/N stood up and stormed away from the table, wiping her eyes furiously. She ignored the calls that followed her, focusing on getting away from the situation. Part of her felt bad for leaving Jessie alone with her parents but she needed to get away. Y/N slammed the stall door in the bathroom and locked it, locking herself away from everything. She leaned against the wall and tried to get her breathing under control.
“Y/N?” Alex voice sounded, “Baby? What’s going on? Please open the door.” Y/N ignored her.
“Y/N, come on, open the door,” Kelley this time, “Let’s talk about this.” Y/N ignored her too.
For a few minutes, Kelley and Alex tried, and failed, to convince Y/N to come out of the stall. Y/N didn’t want to face her moms, after how they acted. She was angry, she was embarrassed, and she was stressed. What if Jessie didn’t want to be with her anymore after that?
“What are you doing here?” Kelley’s voice had hardened. It was clear she wasn’t talking to Y/N.
“I just came to talk to Y/N.” Jessie.
 “Well, we’re fine here.”
“Kel,” Alex said, “Just let her talk.”
“Y/N,” Jessie said, having moved closer to the door, “I know you’re upset and I would be too, but your moms just love you and I… They’re just trying to look out for you. They didn’t mean to hurt you and you don’t have to worry. Nothing they can say to me is going to make me run away. I meant it when I said I really like you, and I’d go through a hundred interrogations if it meant I still got to be with you.”
Y/N shyly opened the door, just enough to stick her head out so she could look at Jessie.
 “You mean it?”
“Of course I do,” Jessie said.
Y/N came out of the stall and let herself fall into Jessie’s arms. After a moment, and with one arm still around Jessie, she reached out to her moms, who came closer to join the group hug.
“Let’s go back to the hotel,” Alex said. Everyone agreed.
The walk back was quiet, with Y/N and Jessie walking together behind Kelley and Alex. Kelley and Alex were whispering together about something and Y/N, honestly, didn’t care to find out what it was. When they reached the hotel, they lingered in the hallway. Y/N was nervous about what would happen when they leave Jessie. Then, Kelley turned around and put her hand on Jessie’s shoulder.
“I won’t lie, I didn’t like you when tonight started,” Kelley started. Y/N rolled her eyes. “But then I saw how you handled what happened earlier and how much you clearly care about my daughter. And how much she clearly cares for you. So, all I want to say is that I like you kid.” Alex cleared her throat. “Okay, and I’m sorry for how I acted.”
“We just want Y/N to be happy,” Alex said, “And we’re happy that it’s you who makes her happy.” Y/N grinned.
 “So you approve?” She asked.
“Yes,” Kelley and Alex said together.
Y/N turned to Jessie, who turned to her, and the two embraced and then Y/N nuzzled her nose against Jessie’s and then leaned in to kiss her gently.
“Okay don’t get ahead of yourselves now, we’re still your mothers,” Kelley said, separating Y/N from Jessie. Y/N giggled. “Okay that’s enough say goodnight to your girlfriend and lets leave before I change my mind and forbid you from dating until you’re 35.”

WHAT?!
Tumblr media
Emily Sonnett x Fem!Reader
I decided to split this into multiple parts because I didn’t want it to be too long. Hope you enjoy! Feedback is appreciated :)
masterlist
“Come on Sonny.” Kelly whined. “You need to get laid. It’ll help with your grumpiness.”
“Kelly, I don’t need to get laid!” Sonny exclaimed, walking into the meal room.
“Who needs to get laid?”
“Sonny does!” Screamed Kelly, jumping up and down around Emily.
Hums and nods of agreements are heard throughout the whole room.
“Fuck you guys!” Sonnett yelled, throwing up the middle finger while grabbing some food.
“Nah! Someone need to fuck you— OW!” Kelly rubs the back of her head.
“KELLEY!”
Oh, are they in for a treat.
———
Getting ready, you decided to take a shower with your daughter because you’d been running around the backyard and she’s been playing with your dog, Gus, in the dirt.
“What do you wanna wear bubs?” You ask your four year old daughter, Isabella.
“Be like Mommy and wear Mama jersey?”
“We can do that.” You grab some black joggers, your guys’ Sonnett jersey, and a blue beanie for the both of you. “Let’s take a picture for Mama bubs.” You both stand in front of the mirror taking a picture, Isabella being silly, she puts up peace signs and sticks her tongue out.
Me: Ready to watch you play.
Superstar: You guys look so cute. Can’t wait to see you both. I gotta go. I love you!
Me: Good luck out there! I love you more!
Superstar: Not possible.
You had just arrived at the stadium where the USWNT game was being played. Giving your ticket to be scanned, you make your way to your seats, front row, behind the U.S. bench, carrying your daughter on your waist.
“You ready to see Mama play bubs?” You say, putting some ear muffs over her ears.
“YEAH!” Isabella screams as loud as she could.
The game was about to start, the person they were here for was sitting on the bench. Emily sees both you and Bella, giving a subtle wink.
———
“OH MY GOD! Look at that baby!” Rose yelled excitedly, smacking Sonnett’s arm repeatedly.
“Ow—ow—OW! Stop hitting me!”
“But the baby is so cute!”
“You know who else is cute?” Kelly asks, joining the conversation. “The person holding the baby.”
Emily glares at Kelley. “Don’t say that.”
“Why? You want her all to yourself?” Emily stays silent. “Oh my god! You do want her all to yourself!”
“Shut Up! No I don’t! And she’s probably not even single.”
“But if she was… you would totally hit that— OW!”
“KELLEY!”
———
“Mommy, Mommy! Mama goin’ in! Mama gonna play!” Bella yells excitedly, but drops her mini flag over the railing and onto the ground. “Mommy, I drop.”
“Oh, no bubs. That’s okay. Maybe you can get another one.” You say, holding onto her so she doesn’t fall over the railing like her flag.
“I think you dropped something.” You hear someone say. You look down, over the railing to see Pinoe holding the mini flag.
“Yeah, sorry. She got way too excited.”
“We all get a little excited when Sonnettt goes in.”
“Yeah, we do.”
“Why don’t you guys come down after the game to meet Sonnettt?”
“What do you think bubs? Should we go down there after?” You feel her nod against your side, getting shy when she sees new people talking to her. “Alright, we’ll see you down there.
———
The final whistle blows. The crowd cheers loudly for the 3-0 win for the U.S.
“YEAH! Mommy, Mama won! Mama won!”
“She did!” You said with the same enthusiasm as Isabella.
A couple minutes later, a security guard comes to get you and escort you on the field. You carry Isabella on your hip so she doesn’t get lost in the crowd.
———
After greeting a couple fans, Emily starts walking towards the tunnel with Kelley, Rose, and Mal.
“MAMA!” They all hear.
Emily looks towards the voice and sees Isabella running towards her. She crouches down to her height and Bella crashes into her, making them both fall back.
“Hi, Bubs.” Emily gets up with Bella in her arms.
“WHAT?!” Multiple voices ask.
“Wait wait wait. That baby just called Sonny Mommy.”
“I not baby!” Bella told Kelley sternly.
“But you’re mine and Mommy’s baby.”
“…fine.”
Feeling arms wrap around the both of making Sonnettt relax in them.
“You did so amazing superstar.” You whisper in her ear, kissing it lightly.
“Nooo, my Mama.” Bella wined, pushing her Mommy away.
“But she was mine first.” You said, jutting your bottom lip out.
“You guys can share.” Your wife said, kissing your lips and Bella’s forehead.
People clearing their throat interrupts you little family moment. You and Emily turn around to see the whole team standing. Some staring in shock, others in confusion.
“I think you got some explaining to do Sonny.”
“Alright, fine. Can we wait until later? Little miss here needs to take a nap soon. Everyone can just meet in my room.”
“How about everyone freshens up and we all meet at our place in like… 4 hours? We can have a late lunch, early dinner. I can cook.” You suggest.
“Oh, you don’t have to. We can all bring some things.” Alex says.
“No, no. I insist.”
“It’s settled then, Bye everyone!” Emily said, walking away with a sleepy Bella in her arms.
“See y’all soon.”
Dropping both your wife and daughter at home, you go to the grocery store to buy some ingredients for the dinner.
Couple hours later, all the food is cooked and laid out around the kitchen, buffet style. Suddenly there was a knock on the door.
“I’ll get it.” You wife shouts from the living room.
“Hey, guys. Welcome to my home. Come in. Come in. Let’s go to the kitchen. Babe they’re here!”
“Hey, guys. Welcome. Before we start getting to know each other, let me just tell you what I made so that’s out of the way.” You walk further in the kitchen with them following not far behind. “Okay so for starters, I just made a basic caesar salad. For the main, I made some seafood paella and roast chicken. And mac and cheese. Simple.” Walking to the other side of the island, “Over here, I made another caesar salad, but it’s vegan. Uh, this is some bolognese with high-protein mushroom and lentils mixed in with some hand cut pasta. And some butternut squash curry. All vegan. And dessert, we have peanut butter cookie bars and a chocolate cake with light mousse frosting. Again, all vegan.” You turn towards Alex. “Emily mentioned you were vegan and I wanted to make sure you had options that isn’t basically just leaves.”
“You made all this? From scratch?”
“Yeah, so, dig in everyone!”
Once everyone is settled in the backyard, Ashlyn asked the important question, “How’d you guys get together?”
“It’s a really funny story actually…”

Honorable Fight (Reader x Kellex)
Tumblr media
Request: R is a UFC fighter, and there's fighter who is talking shit about her family (Charlie, Alex and Kelley) and R goes off on him in the cage, and can only be calm after she sees her girls.
Author's Note: Hey Guys, so this one was super fun to write (most UFC ones are). I should mention Sean O'Malley is a UFC fighter, I should also mention Kelley and R are both G!P in this. Let me know what you think! your comments and anonymous messages give me life.
You sighed deeply as Alex ran a soft hand through your hair. You turned further on your side, burying your face in her stomach, every cell in your body relaxing into her touch like putty.
It was a rare serene moment in the chaos of fight week. A rare moment where the only thing that needed your attention were your beautiful wives.
Sure it was fun fighting for a title, but the media shitstorm that came with it was overwhelming. Especially when you were on the tail end of your weight cut, and your opponent seemed more content to shit talk than any other you had met before.
Then again, you were convinced it was his mouth that got him his title and not his fighting.
You would be the pin that popped his pretentious bubble on his first title defense.
But here, in this moment, none of that mattered. They were an island of calm. Of normal. They had always been a grounding force for your sanity, and that didn’t change when you became a big-name fighter. In fact, you treasured the levelness they brought to your life even more now.
They were the voice of reason. The encouragement. The prize was better than any belt known to man.
“It’s kind of amazing,” Kelley hummed quietly from the couch across from you.
You rolled back over, squinting at your other wife. “Hmm,” Alex hummed.
Kelley smirked. “That the big badass fighter turns into a puppy,”
You growled lightly at her, bearing your teeth. “Alex is comfy and I’m in pain,”
Your stomach growled as if on cue.
Cutting weight fucking sucked, even if your normal weight wasn’t that much higher than what the scale had to read.
“And you’ll weigh in in 12 hours and get to eat whatever you want,” Kelley rolled her eyes at your dramatics, more than used to it.
“Wan my candy mama?” Charlie asked, toddling up to the couch, and patting your belly. “Make tummy monster go bye-bye,”
You smiled softly at your daughter, easily reaching over and pulling her to sit on your stomach.
“Thank you, baby. I promise I’ll eat all the candy with you after I come off stage,”
She pouted down at you. “And we pway with Cwarke and wexa?”
You nodded seriously at the mention of your striking and Jujitsu coaches respectively. “Lexa and Clarke will play with you after we get off stage,”
It was adorable to watch your normally stoic jujitsu coach play wrestle with your daughter, and your amazing striking coach encourage her through basic combinations. You trusted your team with your life. They had been your family for as long as you could remember, and you loved how well they meshed with the loves of your life and your daughter.
Your watch beeped, and you glanced down at the text. You were exactly 12 hours out from the time you had to be on weight. It was time to go and do the not-fun part.
“You’ve gotta go,” Alex hummed, running her hand through your hair again.
“I’ve gotta go,” You nodded, sitting up with a sigh. Kelley sent you a sad smile.
She knew part of the reason you hated weight cutting so much was because you had to leave your family to do it. You never wanted them to see you in so much pain, or for them to be involved in something that could so easily go wrong.
You sighed again, sliding Charlie off your lap and grabbing your shoes.
“Come with you?” Charlie looked up at you with wide eyes.
Your lips formed a thin frown. “Sorry bug, but you’re gonna stay here with momma and mommy and watch some movies,”
“Nooo,” Charlie whined, throwing her head back dramatically, earning a chuckle from both Alex and Kelley. You sent a glare in their direction.
You gently rubbed her back.
“Yes baby,” you murmured, holding her close for a long minute before you pressed a kiss into her hair. “I’ll see you tomorrow right after I go on stage,”
“Pwromise?” Her eyes which looked so like Kelley’s stared up at you.
“I promise,” you nodded, kissing her forehead.
She echoed your nod and released you, pointing towards Kelley and Alex. “Kiss for Mommy and momma,”
You rolled your eyes at the order but pushed yourself to your feet nonetheless.
“She’s so your daughter,” you hummed, leaning over Alex to give her a nice kiss.
“Hmm, yours too,” She chuckled, pulling you in for another, longer kiss. It turned slightly dirty, a promise she always liked to leave you with.
It was a reminder of what you were coming back to.
You pulled back with a pop, ignoring Alex’s smirk as you turned toward Kelley.
“Go kick some ass, make your abs really pop,” She chuckled as she pulled you into an equally dirty kiss.
“Just for you,” You hummed as you pulled back. “I’ll always win it for you guys,”
******
Things always felt more volatile when you were on weight. You always felt more volatile, like one word would break the immaculate calm you always projected.
It was part of the reason you separated yourself from your girls. You never wanted them to have to see you like that.
Maybe your edginess could be chalked up to lack of sleep, or lack of food and water to get on weight. Or maybe it was due to the way Lexa and Clarke had acted as a wall between you and him backstage, preventing you from strangling him for the never-ending stream of vitriol that came out of his mouth.
Whatever it was, you were nearing the end of your patience as you stepped off the scale, shook Dana’s hand, and turned towards where Sean would come on stage.
“I don’t want any funny shit,” Dana said, as Sean jumped up onto the stage with a rattle, the president's arm already between you and the man you were going to face.
“I won’t if he doesn’t,” You hummed, stone-faced, your eyes never leaving your opponent.
You felt Dana’s glare as he muttered “You know he will,”
You did know.
That had been O’Malley’s game from the beginning, even before you agreed to the fight.
You were going to show him how much you… appreciated his comments as soon as the octagon door slammed shut, but you weren’t prepared to tip your hand before that.
Your lips curled as he flipped double birds on the scale, and moved towards you, his chest puffed out in a poor imitation of Connor McGregor.
He didn’t have the same swagger to pull it off that the Irishman did. He didn’t have the skills to back out his mouth either.
You held your ground as he approached, your chin tilting slightly so you could look into his muddy, brown eyes, even as he shoved against Dana’s arm to get as close to you as possible.
“Must be fucked sharing a woman,” He hissed, his nose almost touching yours. “Not that you could satisfy one on your own,”
You kept your face calm, something that seemed to only infuriate him further, as you stared into his eyes. They reminded you of dirt, grimy and disgusting.
They were a reflection of his soul.
“Must be fucked to not know if your kid is actually yours,” He continued, shoving Dana to be impossibly closer, pressing for a reaction he would never get.
He wanted to see your emotions, your rage, and you wouldn’t give that to him.
You wouldn’t show him how the comment felt like a punch to the chest.
It was true.
Charlie couldn’t biologically belong to both you and Kelley, but that didn’t matter. She was your child, no matter which one of you actually made up the 2nd half of her DNA.
You and your wives had chosen to get pregnant the way that you did so you and Kelley could equally be her parent.
It was a low blow, one he expected you to react to. But you didn’t move. You didn’t flinch.
And you saw a flash of fear course through his eyes.
He was hitting you with his best to get into your head, and as far as he knew, it wasn’t working.
There was a reason your calm was legendary after all.
His lips curled, and you knew the last exchange between the two of you would just be words. “Don’t worry, your shot probably wouldn’t be potent enough anyway. At Least tomorrow you’ll know who your daddy is,” before using both hands to shove you backward.
And you let him.
You let him push you, keeping your hands at your side and a stoic expression on your face, hiding the rage that was bubbling in your chest.
Dana was between you in an instant, preventing Sean from shoving you again as his coaches tried to restrain his thrashing, spitting form.
You stared him down, completely still, which only served to make him angrier. He shoved more violently against his team, confirming one very important fact in your mind.
He was making so much noise because he was afraid.
A snake only rattles when it’s scared after all.
You were in control as you allowed your coaches to back you off of the stage, unwilling to look away from him until you were through the curtain and down a deserted hallway in the underbelly of the stadium.
It was only then that you let your emotions out, your foot landing heavily on a trash can.
“I’m going to fucking murder him,” You growled, hitting the trash can again. It was despicable of him to bring up your family. A massive breach of the code most of the people signed seemed to follow. “He’s got 22 and a half minutes of fucking hell in front of him, and he doesn’t even know it yet,”
You were going to make him suffer for mentioning your family.
“Let’s not get too cocky,” Clarke said, pulling the trash can away before you could hit it again, as Lexa stepped in front of you, both hands up in a pacifying motion.
You blew out a long breath. “He’s a fucking twat and he needs to pay,”
Lexa nodded, shoving a water bottle at you. You took it, bringing it to your lips and pulling long greedy sips.
The water helped to calm the beast in your chest.
“We know, but we don’t want to give up finishing chances to prove a point,” She reminded you, her voice soft, forcing you to pay attention.
“He’s dangerous, we can’t overlook that in the name of revenge,” Clarke added, stepping towards you and placing a calming hand on your back.
“I know,” You grumbled, taking another long sip.
You knew what the game plan was, even if your nutrition-deprived body wanted to make him beg for you to finish him. You had to fight smart, especially when he was trying to make you reckless. “You didn’t hear what that little-“
“Let go, mommy!”
The little voice cut you off, and you whipped around to face it, the rage that dominated your chest dissipating at the sight.
Alex was crouched behind Charlie, holding her tightly as Kelley kneeled on her other side as the toddler tried to wiggle herself free of the restraining arms.
“Let’s give mama a second,” Alex said, raising an eyebrow at you as if she was telling you to get yourself in check.
You gulped, taking another deep sip of your drink. It did little to help you.
From the beginning of your career, you had agreed that you never wanted them to see you when you were struggling to control yourself. You never wanted them to see the self that you were in the octagon when you weren’t in the cage.
You rolled your shoulders, hoping it would help, but it didn’t.
Charlie pouted. “But she promised we eat candy as soon as she off stage,”
Clarke moved from behind you, patting your shoulder. “Why don’t we run through some boxing drills first monkey? Then you and your mama can eat your well-deserved rewards,”
Charlie squealed at the prospect. Running bags was one of her favorite pastimes, and Clarke had been pretty busy with you this week so they hadn’t gotten to do much.
“Come on then,” The blonde coach smiled widely, holding out her hand, and Alex released Charlie so she could run to your coach.
You would forever be grateful for how good they were with her. With all your girls really.
You stood frozen until you heard the telltale thump of your locker room door shutting, before both of your wives slowly approached you and Lexa passed you your shirt.
You slipped the material over your head, just as Kelley and Alex got to you, slowly wrapping you in their arms.
“That looked pretty heated,” Alex said softly, her hand finding your overexpressed abs underneath your shirt, and tracing the defined lines.
You hummed, tucking your nose into her neck and letting the last of your anger bleed out of you.
It had been pretty intense, more intense than your staredowns usually went.
You had never had someone shove you before.
“Did he hurt you?” Kelley pressed further, her fingers finding your spine and tapping gently.
You shook your head. “No. He pissed me off more than anything,”
The weight of the confession hung in the air between the three of you.
You rarely ever told them when a fighter was actually annoying you. You usually let the comments they made roll off, but if he had said something that had stuck, that was a sign in it itself.
“What did he say?” Alex asked, trying to be gentle, but also unwilling to let you bottle it up.
“Nothing worth repeating,” You scoffed, shaking your head again. They didn’t need to hear the garbage that came out of his mouth. They didn’t need to know he was using your relationship against you. That he was using your daughter against you.
“I think the poor trash can would disagree,” Kelley chuckled, pointing to the dented can and breaking the sudden tension that had overtaken you.
You winced at the distorted can. “I’ll make him pay for it anyway,”
“We don’t doubt that,” Alex agreed. “But talking it out might help you calm down,”
You blew out another long breath through your nose.
They didn’t deserve to have to hear the shit that came out of his mouth. They didn’t deserve the hate he was throwing your way, but you knew you wouldn’t be able to shield them from it entirely.
Not with the number of cameras on you.
“He likes to mention you two and Charlie,” You started slowly, “He thinks he understands our relationship, but he doesn’t. He wants to get under my skin and make me make mistakes tomorrow,”
“And it’s working,” Alex supplied easily, running her hand through your hair as you leaned closer to her, taking all the comfort she was offering.
“It’s not,” You protested, and she scratched your scalp a little harder.
“It is,” Kelley chuckled. “You demolished a trash can,”
You squinted, shaking your head.
That had been the person Y/n reacting to. It was the mother and wife in you enraged that he would bring up something so private. You could fantasize as much as you wanted about pushing him to the limit, but when that octagon door slammed shut, you knew it wasn’t the mother in you that he would be facing.
He would be facing the fighter. The cold and calculated side of you that you trained to no end. There were no emotions in the octagon. No dreams of revenge. Only analysis of the fighter in front of you, and a game of chess that you couldn’t lose.
It was a hard transition to explain. Difficult for even your wives to understand how you could just turn off your emotions seemingly at will. It was a side to yourself that they rarely got to see.
“He’s afraid,” You explained carefully. “He’s saying stuff because he knows that the only way for him to win is for me to make a mistake. My emotions won’t follow me tomorrow. I shouldn’t have let them take over, especially in front of Charlie. I’m sorry,”
“Don’t apologize, babe,” Alex’s voice was soothing in your ear as both of them held you tighter. “you’re human, you’re allowed to feel,”
“And she only saw Lexa moving it so you didn’t hit it again,” Kelley added gently.
They knew how hesitant you were to let them see the more destructive side of your job.
“He’s just,” You closed your eyes tightly, the words getting stuck in your throat, his cackle echoing in your brain. “It’s wrong for him to drag you into it, and for him to speak about you the way he did,”
“We know,” They sighed in unison, holding you close to them, knowing the only way to make you feel better was through their touch.
Their reassurances that they would be there no matter what happened.
It was the perfect moment, only interrupted by the loud moaning of your empty stomach.
“We better go. Charlie is very insistent that candy will help your tummy monster,” Alex chuckled, patting your abs as your stomach rumbled again.
They were painfully defined in a way that looked great but felt horrible.
You made a pained expression. Candy would not be enough to satisfy you.
“A steak too,”
Your stomach rumbled again earning a chuckle from your wives.“Maybe 2 steaks,”
“Whatever you want baby,” Kelley smiled widely, carefully untangling herself from you and beginning to guide you in the direction your coaching staff had disappeared with your daughter.
You would enjoy this moment because before you knew it, you would have to leave them again to put an asshole back in his place.
*****
Your hand clenched around the balcony railing, your other squeezing your phone so tightly you were afraid it would shatter.
You knew that the embedded crew had picked up on what Sean said to you, but having them send you the pre-edit where it was so clear was… infuriating.
You didn’t necessarily want the world to begin forming opinions on something they didn’t understand. And putting Charlie out there felt… too over the line.
Your hands clenched again as you watched the clip over, the words burying themselves impossibly deeper in your brain.
You couldn’t let them post the clip. You had to protect your family. You-
“Hey, what are you doing awake?” Warm arms wrapped around your waist, and a nose nudged just under your ear.
You hummed, leaning back into Alex’s slightly taller form. “I got up for a midnight snack,”
You lazily gestured to the half-eaten pack of Oreos left forgotten on the table next to your balcony. “what are you doing up?”
Her, Charlie, and Kelley had been knocked out after your movie marathon, cuddled up together as the credits of Moana rolled across the screen.
It had been hard to untangle yourself from the trio, but you didn’t want to wake them with your overthinking. You thought that the Vegas lights would help, and your favorite cookies, but then the media team emailed you and started that spiral all over again.
“Charlie got up to go to the bathroom and missed you, I volunteered,” Alex explained gently. “What are you watching?”
“A precut of the clip for UFC embedded,” You mumbled, restarting the footage and holding it up for her to see.
She could feel your mask slip into place as the clip of Sean taunting you rolled across the small screen. She could feel the tension run up your spine, and the way your entire body seemed to harden as he spoke (more like spewed) the words she knew had impacted you so much.
“Well,” She hummed softly, nudging your ear with her nose. “I can see why you destroyed a trash can,”
“I don’t want the world to see this,” You admitted, your voice rough. “I don’t want Charlie to find it one day and wonder what he means. It doesn’t matter how badly I beat him tomorrow,”
Alex let a beat of silence pass between you, holding onto you as tightly as she could. She knew you were the most worried about how Charlie would view you and your career after she actually understood what it was you did. You worried that she wouldn’t be able to grow up normally because of the media.
“She won’t,” Alex hummed. “She’ll remember how much we love her. She won’t listen to what that douchebag has to say. She’ll understand what we did and why we did it,”
You shifted heavily. “I just hope you’re right,”
“Don’t worry, I am,” She said, hugging you for another long minute before stealing one of your Oreos. “Now come back inside. I don’t think the little monster will go back to sleep until you’re in bed with us,”
You shook your head. It was a special thing that Charlie got to sleep with the three of you instead of in her own bed, but you liked to have them close during fight week.
“Just know I would do anything to protect you three,” You said, your voice heavy as you both turned to head back into your hotel room.
“We know,”
****
The 2nd time you had to say goodbye to your family before the fight was always the easiest for you and the hardest for them.
You could feel how much they didn’t want to let you go in the way Kelley and Alex kissed you and how Charlie clung to your neck until Kelley had to pull her off.
But you had a routine. They never came into the locker room with you, even before you were warming up, and you never knew exactly where in the venue they were sitting. You didn’t want to know. You didn’t want to be able to look out into the crowd and find them if something started to go wrong.
You didn’t want to have to see their faces if you weren’t the one who won.
Them leaving you early was easier for you. It gave you time to get into the right headspace for what you had to do. It let you disconnect from the more… human side of yourself. It was hard to beat a man senseless when you were thinking about the family that he also had.
You watched the live stream of the PPV out of the corner of your eye as Clarke began the long process of taping your hands for the fight. You fought to keep your fingers relaxed as they flashed to an interview with Sean before the fight.  “I’m going to make him regret every word he’s ever said,”
“I know it’s hard, but you need to think clearly right now,” Clarke said, gripping your hands and beginning to wind the pre-wrap around each of your digits. “You need to remember the game plan. Don’t let him turn this into a pissing contest,”
You grit your teeth. “I’m trying,”
You felt Clarke and Lexa share a look more than you saw it.
Lexa's hand gripped your jaw and she turned your head to force you to make eye contact with her.
“If you go out there with him in your head, you will not go home to Charlie, Alex, and Kelley in one piece.”
“I know,” You growled, “I just want to make him regret saying those things so badly,”
“You will,” Lexa assured you, “You’ve gotta fight smart though. Stick to the plan and he’ll regret every word,”
“If you let him egg you on, you’ll fall right into his plan,” Clarke added, beginning to tape your other hand. “He’ll force you to make a mistake and then what?”
You blew out a breath. You knew the answer.
You’d make a mistake and then you’d get hurt.
“He’s an ass, we know,” Clarke said slowly. “But the only way to do this right is to fight your fight. Not the one he wants you to fight,”
“I know,” You muttered, breathing heavily through your nose, and pushing the anger and rage out with the air.
You had to fight with a clear mind. Emotions killed inside of the octagon, and you couldn’t allow yours to control you. You needed to come back to your family safe and sound.
“Tell me the plan,” Lexa said, as Clarke finished the tape job on your hands.
“Keep him on his toes with leg kicks, nail a few to his stomach and go high when he drops his hands,” You recited, allowing yourself to slip into the fighter side of your brain.
Allowing yourself to forget that Sean was a man, and viewing him as a chess piece instead. Just another thing you had to defeat.
“What else?” Lexa pressed.
“Cut the angles, switch feet,” You continued, the mask of the fighter slowly slipping into place. “If he shoots, catch him with the knee and follow it with a hook,”
“And combinations,” Clarke reminded you. “Strings of 3 or 4 each time,”
“Combinations,” You nodded. You knew that too.
“Fight with your head and not your heart,” Clarke added, tapping your knuckles as she slid your gloves into place. “Let’s get you stretched and warmed up,”
You could do this. You could keep your emotions out of it.
*****
You sat heavily back on your stool, sucking in deep breaths as Lexa pulled your mouthpiece out. Round 3 had not gone how you wanted it to. You were being shoved against the cage wall, and defending takedowns for the majority of the round.
Having Sean’s entire body weight pressed into you was exhausting and so much less fun than punching him in the face.
“You need to stop playing Y/n,” Lexa said, as Clarke squirted water into your mouth and placed a bag of ice on the back of your neck.
“I got sloppy,” You agreed, your eyes locked on Lexas.
The first two rounds had been fine. You caught Sean at least 3 times, knocking him on his ass.
But each time you had let him back up. You wanted him to pay for what he had said.
You weren’t going to give him an easy way out in under 2 rounds.
“You're fighting with your heart instead of your head, and he probably took that round,” Lexa said sternly, as a ref shoved vaseline in a cut he had opened just under your eye.
“He’s dipping left,” You answered. You only had 30 seconds. You needed to make sure what you were seeing was actually what was happening.
“He is. Let’s pull a one-two fake and come over the top with your right. You’ll nail him just like you did in rounds one and two,” Clarke jumped in, from your other side.
“Ok,” You nodded.
“Watch for him to shoot. It’s what he did last round when you started to light him up,” Lexa added as the center official gestured that you had 10 seconds left.
“Ok,”
“We just need to keep sitting him down, and when we do, don’t let him back up this time,” Lexa finished as you pushed yourself up from the stool and the team began to file out of the octagon.
You nodded. You could knock him down again. When you did, you would finish him.
“Ok,”
You leaned back against the cage, staring O’Malley down as he tiredly shoved himself off his stool.
He was tired, and you were ready to finish him. This was the part of the fight that you thrived in. The championship rounds were what defined you, and Sean was about to find himself way over his head.
Herb Dean gestured for you and clapped his hand, and you knew. You could see exactly what Sean was going to do before he did it.
And you were ready.
Sean lunged in for the double leg, but you were faster, leaping up and catching him with a knee as he dove.
You had too much momentum to stop yourself from tumbling over him, but it wouldn’t matter.
You had landed flush, and you weren’t going to let him up this time.
*****
Kelley and Alex would never get used to seeing you covered in blood. It never failed to make their hearts stop.
It was one thing for them to see you back in the locker room, red coating your hands and abs after a 2 round beatdown. It was one thing for them to rush you after a 3-second knockout, not even a hair out of place.
This fight had been something different.
This fight had been a war.
This time most of the blood you were covered in was your own, courtesy of the nasty gash just under your left eye.
They were positioned just off to your left, behind the announce table, protected by the barricade of the friends and family section. Close enough to see your coaches leap up onto the apron as you landed an insane flying knee to Sean’s head, but far enough away that they hadn’t been in your direct line of sight between rounds.
Alex held Charlie tighter as the crowd exploded around them, the officials rushing you as you landed more punches to your own opponent, and Kelley moving to block Charlie’s other side.
“Mama ok?” Charlie’s voice barely carried over the crowd.
“Yeah baby,” Alex hummed, bouncing her as the officials shoved you away from the downed fighter and towards your corner. The fall as you leaped over Sean had opened the gash on your cheek wider. “She’s just a little excited right now,”
Kelley snorted at the description, the gross downplay of how you were pressing against the officials and screaming toward the grounded man.
“She flew,” Charlie agreed, pointing to where they were showing the replay on the screen above them. “Mama fly again?”
“I don’t think so baby,” Alex said, carefully repositioning the edge of Charlie’s ear protectors.
It was a signature of yours to do a flip off the cage after a win, but with how amped up you were, Alex doubted you’d be doing the celebration.
“Mama have too many boo-boos?” Charlie asked as you finally turned away from the army of officials holding you back.
Both Alex and Kelley shook their heads. They weren’t quite sure how bad it was yet, but Lexa had sent them a nod before the start of the 4th round, so they knew it probably looked worse than it was.
“Mama is ok,” Alex said, as an official approached them to escort them to the cage now that your team was finally starting to get you to calm down.
Kelley nodded towards the man, using a hand on Alex’s back to guide them forward. “Let’s go see mama,”
Hopefully, Clarke would be able to coax you into a shirt before they got there.
****
You were not a fighter who often showed emotions inside the octagon, especially after a fight. You weren’t one who landed extra punches after your opponent was clearly down.
But Sean had pushed you too far, and you just couldn’t calm down.
Even as Lexa’s arms wrapped around your heaving abs, and the official pressed a heavy piece of gauze to your cheek.
“Y/n he’s down, you need to relax,” Clarke ordered, snapping a finger in front of your eyes, and drawing your attention from where Sean was still sucking in stilted breaths on the ground.
You blinked at her. “Y/n you have to calm down. You don’t want Charlie to see you like this,”
It was like ice in your veins, instantly pulling the red tinge from your vision.
Your eyes darted around the cage, spotting Alex, Kelley, and Charlie standing just outside the door.
It was what you needed to release the tension in your shoulders, finally relaxing in Lexa’s arms.
Charlie waved excitedly at you, and you lifted a hand to wiggle your fingers back, keeping your head still for the official.
“You’re gonna need stitches after the official decision,” He muttered gruffly, letting your face go. “And you’re gonna have to do the mandatory ER visit,”
“We’ll make sure she does,” Lexa answered for you, finally dropping her arms, convinced you wouldn’t try to hit Sean again.
You groaned under your breath. You didn’t like the ER.
“Let me get the blood off you before your girls get in here,” Clarke said, passing Lexa the dark-colored shirt you would wear after, and stepping towards you with a bright, white towel. “Charlie will be upset if she can’t get a hug,”
“We don’t want that,” You muttered, closing your eyes as she methodically cleaned your face, staying away from the gash in your cheek, and moved on to wiping down your shoulders, stomach, and back. Your legs would be able to wait for the shower.
“No, we don’t,” Lexa agreed, holding the collar of your shirt so you could pull it over your head without getting blood all over it. “I’m sure round 3 already gave her quite the scare,”
You winced, as you lifted your arm through your shirt. “Only like the last minute and a half,”
“Still,” Clarke said sending you a meaningful look, as you popped your head through the collar. “I don’t think Kelley or Alex like it when you’re under anyone but them,”
“Very true,” You agreed, again glancing over your shoulder towards your little family. “I just needed him to pay for what he said about them. What he said about Charlie,”
You were acutely aware of how dangerous your job was. How terrifying it had to be to watch Sean lift you and slam you. How painful it was when he opened up the cut on your cheek with a slicing elbow.
“I think he’ll remember this lesson,” Lexa hummed pushing you forward, as the officials finally let Alex, Kelley, and Charlie into the cage. “Now, say hello and get a hug so they can read the official decision, and then you can go to the hospital,”
You painted a half smile on your face and took the four steps over to your girls. “Hey,”
Alex smiled widely, fighting to hold onto your wiggling daughter as Kelley stepped up to gently wrap her arms around you.
“Hey babe,” Kelley's voice was as soft as her hands, her eyes searching your face for further injuries.
“Mama, you win!” Charlie cheered, wiggling harder in Alex’s arms. “Mommy down,”
“Easy,” You hummed, towards your daughter, eyeing the man now sitting pressed up against the cage behind you. “I think it’s best if Mommy holds you,”
You didn’t think he was still dangerous, but you would never take a chance with them.
“But hug,” She whined, kicking her feet and earning a chuckle from Kelley and Alex.
Your smile softened, carefully pulling out of Kelley’s arms and taking a step towards them. You slowly wrapped your arm around Alex and Charlie, squeezing gently and ignoring the pain in your ribs.
Charlie tried to lean into you, using her little hands to grab your chin before you could pull away.
“Gentle baby,” Alex reminded her, as Kelley carefully moved her fingers so they didn’t accidentally touch your cut.
Charlie nodded, her eyes searching you just as Kelley’s had. “Mama hurt?”
You shrugged. “A little, but I’ll be ok,”
Charlie hummed, leaning up to peck your cheek just below the gauze covering your cut. “I kiss it better for you,”
“Thank you, baby,” You said, as the officials gestured for you to come over so they could read the decision.
You landed a kiss on her forehead and one on Kelley and Alex’s cheeks before you turned toward the officials.
You let him take your arm in the center of the octagon, standing in front of Dana White.
“The officials have called a stop to this contest 4 seconds into the 4 round. Your winner by Knockout is Y/n Y/l/n,”
Bruce Buffers voice rang through the arena, and Dana carefully strapped the belt around your waist, but your eyes never left your girls, even as Joe Rogan stepped up for his post-fight interview.
All that mattered to you was them.
“First off, congratulations on your win,” He said, trying to draw your attention to him. “I want to ask you about this knockout. Clearly, he was down after the knee, do you think those last 3 punches were necessary?”
You smirked towards him, your pre-fight song running in your head.  “They were super necessary. If a man talks shit then I owe him nothing, don’t regret it one bit cause he had it coming,”
Sean did have it coming. He had messed with your family.
Your job was difficult. It was dangerous.
You were supposed to fight with your head and not your heart, but at the end of the day, you fought for them.
They were yours and you were theirs, and you would give anything for them. You would give up your new championship if that was what they needed.
They kept you grounded, and you would always fight for their honor.

Charlie’s First Camp (Alex Morgan x Reader)
Tumblr media
Anon request: Can your write a Alex x reader one with Charlie? They go to national camp with Charlie and basically just moments where reader takes care of Charlie because she wants Alex to have as much practice/recovery time as she can get. Reader is also on the national team.
Today was the day, it was Alex’s first national team camp since having Charlie. You had gone to the last one despite you greatest effort to stay home with your family but that was pre-covid so you were looking forward to seeing everyone.
Luckily the camp was in Orlando so you didn’t have to be in the car long before getting to the hotel.
As you got closer to the hotel you could tell that Alex was getting nervous.
“Hey” You say reaching over the centre console for her hand.
Alex looked at you and you recognised the look, it was doubt. You had known Alex for over 15 years and you never saw this is look, you may have seen something similar but this was new. Ever since Charlie was born Alex was determined to prove to everyone that you can have a child and still be a world class player.
You saw her push herself to the limit time and time again. You made sure to train with her everyday on top of your pride training. She would get mad at you if you went too easy on her. Alex said she didn’t need you to be her wife, she needed you to be her captain.
“Don’t overthink this Al, we have been to loads of camps and this one is no different. Well it is because we have our daughter with us” You tell you wife.
You look in the rear view mirror at Charlie who is occupying herself by playing with her feet.
“You ok?” You ask Alex and she nods her head in response. You try and reassure her by kissing hand and you keep you fingers intertwined until you pull up to the hotel.
You take the bags whilst she gets Charlie. When you check in you find out that you are the first players to arrive which mean’t you had plenty of time to get settled, or so you thought.
You phone goes off signalling you had a text.
“Vlakto wants to talk. You ok up here?”
“Yeah, I will meet you downstairs”
You give Alex a kiss and then give Charlie one too. You hear your daughter beginning to cry as you leave and almost turn around.
An hour and a half later Alex is getting some lunch with the rest of the team.
“Hi Charlie” Rose says as she starts making faces in attempt to make the little on laugh but it doesn’t work.
“Don’t take it personal Rose, she doesn’t like any of us” Kelley says earning a scowl from Alex.
“She doesn’t know us yet Kel” Pinoe responds.
“Also she is in a little bit a mood, aren’t you Charlie?” Alex says to you daughter who just looks at her with a sad expression.
“Why?” Kelley asks.
“Y/N has being in a meeting with Vlatko for over an hour. You miss Mama don’t you baby” Charlie eyes light up at your name.
You come out of one of the side rooms with your coach.
“I’m sure coach. I am here to watch the team and train lightly, my hamstring still isn’t 100%” You tell him.
You were here to support your team and more importantly your wife.
You look around the room seeing your teammates but your eyes were trying to find two people in particular. You see Alex and Charlie and make a b line straight to them.
You cannot help but smile as you see your daughter trying to get out of Alex’s arms as she sees you.
“Did somebody miss me?” You say taking Charlie from Alex.
Charlie wraps her arms around you and buries herself in the crook of your neck.
“I’ll take that as a yes”
“You eaten yet?” You ask Alex and she shakes her head.
“Let go say hello to your aunties and get mommy some food shall we?” You ask Charlie.
You lean down kissing Alex. She watches you as you walk away.
“It is so weird seeing Y/N as a mom” Pinoe says. You had always being good with kids but you always said that you would retire before having children.
“She is an amazing, the bond she has with Charlie melts my heart. I wasn’t sure how she would handle being a mom, a wife and being a captain of two teams but she always finds a way to put me and Charlie first” Alex says singing your praise.
The table watches as you go around each table, introducing Charlie to everybody.
You take Charlie to where the food is and make Alex a plate before going back to her.
“Thank you” Alex tells you.
“Hey Kel. Wanna see if Charlie likes you yet? I have to run and get her bottle from the room”
You laugh as the defender comes running over to you.
Kelley reaches for Charlie but your daughter isn’t having any of it.
“Charlie” you say and she goes to Kelley
“How did you do that?” Kelley asks.
You quickly run up to your room and grab Charlie’s bottle and blanket.
By the time you get downstairs Kelley is on the floor with the little girl following her as she crawls around the room.
This is what you wanted in life. You had your wife, daughter and closest friends around you. Happiness doesn’t come close to what you are feeling.
It looks like Charlie has spotted you as you see her crawling her way towards you.
“Hey little one, you hungry?” Charlie reaches up to you.
“I could eat” Kelley says causing you to laugh which then causes Charlie to laugh.
“See, she is warming up to you. She just gets a little shy in front of new people, it was the same with Ash and Ali now Charlie loves them”
When you get back to the table you see that Mal is in your seat. She goes to get up but you stop her saying that you will sit near Ash.
Charlie lays in your arms as you give her the bottle.
“How’s the leg?” Ash asks
“Not 100%”
You and Ash were really close and have been ever since you met on the U team, since playing in Florida she has become like family.
“How did you know that your ready to be a mom?” She asks and you smile knowing where this conversation is going.
“I didn’t. It was something that me and Alex had talked about but never really put a timing on it then just before the world cup we the decision and never looked back. Honestly, I think it all comes down to who you are starting a family with. I love Alex with every fibre of my being and starting a family with her has been one of the best decisions I have ever made”
Ash goes quiet and you can tell she is thinking.
“You and Ali are thinking about it, aren’t you?” She nods.
“You are going to make a great mom Ash. Just look at how you are with Charlie, she adores you and that is saying something considering she doesn’t like to be away from me or Alex for more than ten minutes”
You both look at Charlie who has just about finished her bottle and is fighting sleep. Meeting all of these new people must have been exhausting.
You place the bottle on the table and Charlie sits up a little bit getting her blanket off the table with the help of Ash.
Charlie cuddles into the side of you but still refuses to go to sleep that is until you reach into your pocket and give her the pacifier. You watch as her little eyes close.
“Team meeting” You hear carli shout from behind you.
“Sorry’ she whispers.
Although the apology isn’t necessary you still appreciate it. Once Charlie was asleep there was no waking her up, she took after Alex for that.
You head into one of the conference rooms with your daughter fast asleep in your arms.
“You want me to take her while you talk?” Alex asks and you shake your head.
Vlatko talks for a few minutes before letting you talk to the team.
You hear a few awe’s coming from your teams as you head to the front of your room with your daughter.
“I know, we’re adorable” You say.
“This camp will be a little bit different. We are not her to work on certain set pieces or prepare for a specific opponent. It has been several months since we have all played or practiced together so we going to to spend this time building back up to the team we were. As you can see things are little bit different this year” You say looking at Charlie.
You knew that several players were nervous for this camp. Playing at national level and club level were two completely different things. You continue to tell the team how the camp will work before handing it back over to Vlatko tells them about this afternoons training.
Everyone heads back to their rooms to get changed and ready.
You lay Charlie down in her travel cot whilst you get a quick shower and change into your USA training gear.
By the time you have finished Charlie is awake and Alex is playing with her on the bed.
“You’re staring” Alex says not taking her away off your daughter
“Can you blame me?” You join the both on them on the bed.
“Thank you” You tell your wife and you can tell by her face that she is slightly confused.
“Thank you for her, for choosing me, for giving me the family I always wanted”
You move closer to Alex, looking from her eyes to her lips before leaning in. You are surprised when Alex deepens the kiss, you both get lost in each other. That is until a you hear a little giggle from under you.
You place loads of kisses on Charlie tummy causing the little one to burst into a fit of giggles.
“Now as much as I want to lay here with you both, you have training to get to” You tell Alex.
“You know you can be a little bit pissed” You furrow your brows “I know you want to play with the team despite what the medic and no doubt what dawn will tell you”
So far your injury was kept a secret. Only your pride teammates, Vlatko and Dawn knew about it but that was soon going to change.
You got the baby carrier out of the suitcase and strapped it to your chest and Alex put Charlie in.
You were about to leave before Alex stopped you.
“Forgetting something?” You rolls your eyes when you see Alex holding up your compression sleeve.
“You’re going to have to put it on me since I have the child” You say playfully and Alex does just that.
With that the Morgan Y/L/N family are on their way to training.
You watched Alex train and anybody else would think she was back to normal but you could tell she was hesitating, doubting herself.
They came for a drinks break and you asked dawn if you could play a small scrimmage and although she wasn’t happy she allowed it.
You noticed that ash was benched as Jane and Alyssa were the keepers.
“Want a different kind of practice?” You say as you take Charlie out the carrier.
“Yeah sure” Ash says “wait you can’t play?”
“Course I can” You look at dawn who sends you a glare “Well I can play until she tells me I can’t” you salute to the team trainer.
You are tie your cleats and run onto the pitch surprising everyone.
“You can’t play” Becky says.
“Watch me” you run towards Tobin.
“Swap vests with me” she doesn’t respond immediately “You get to be on Chris’ team”
You swap vest and run over to your wife.
She begins to speak, no doubt telling you off for playing but you weren’t having any of it.
“Stop doubting yourself Al. It’s me and you, time show to them what your made of” You whisper to her.
You look over to see Vlatko looking at you and he blows the whistle. You and Alex work perfectly together just like you always have. You give Alex the ball as much as you can even scoring a couple of goals yourself, as the game goes on you feel you hamstring pulling more and more but it is worth as you see the luck in Alex’s eyes, she is getting her confidence back.
You breathe a sigh of relief as Vlatko blows the whistle. “That’s enough Y/N, Mal take her place”
“Worth it?” Dawns asks as she can see you limping off the field.
“Absolutely” you say making your way to Charlie.
“She didn’t stop cheering watching you both play” Ash tells you.
You go to reach for Charlie but you she doesn’t reach back.
“See, like I said you are going to be a great mom” Ash smiles as Charlie settles into her. You see dawn walking towards with ice and cling film and you knew what was coming “you happy with her whilst I get wrapped” Ash nods.
Dawn sprays your hamstring with ice spray before putting actual ice on it, you wince at the coldness.
“You’re going to hate me later” she says tells you.
Training finishes and it is soon time for the team meal, it goes by quickly as each table has their own conversations.
You, Tobin, Mal and Sam get called over to go for recovery and you decide to take Charlie with you so that Alex can spend some time with the rest of team without worrying about your daughter.
As soon as you get there Mal runs for the remote, knowing that whoever gets it first can choose what everyone watches.
“I think Charlie wants to watch Frozen” you laugh as Mal’s generous thought.
“Sure thing Mal, Charlie would love that” you say sarcastically.
You lay down on on the bed, Charlie by your side as dawn begins to work on your hamstring immediately causing you pain.
“I told you that you shouldn’t play”
“I know” you reply. You didn’t regret playing with Alex and the team but maybe you should dialled it down a bit.
You all stay in the room a lot longer than you need to because you wanted to watch the end of the film.
You are still on the bed but now Charlie is laid on your chest, her eyes glued to the film.
Without knowing it Tobin takes a picture of the two of you and sends it to Alex.
By the time the film finishes, Charlie, Mal and Sam had fallen asleep. You wake them and go back to the rest of the team who have now finished eating and are playing a game whilst having a drink.
You and Alex call it a night and take Charlie to bed.
The next morning Charlie wakes up at 4:30am and shows no sign of going back to sleep.
You quickly get changed deciding to go for a walk just like you would if you were at home but instead of going round the neighbourhood, you would be walking around the hotel.
After an hour you go to the conference room to watch some game film. Just because you couldn’t play doesn’t mean that you cant help the team.
You look at Charlie as you watch the soccer match between the US and Sweden. It was a game that you wasn’t proud of and overall it wasn’t a good team performance.
“You see that Charlie, Mama missed it again” You tell your daughter as you write the details of the play down.
“Why did we get that ball?” You ask as Charlie mumbles something back which you had no chance of understanding.
“I agree, we weren’t aggressive enough”
Ten minutes later Carli joined you. This is how camp was normally, you always watch film together because you understand each other in a way that no one else did.
“What was up with me that game?” You ask your co-captain.
“Alex was on bed rest” she tells you.
“Still I should have been focused on the game”
“You still scored”
“Yeah but I missed 3 easy shots”
Once again Charlie says something that you don’t understand but it seems like she is mad.
“I agree Charlie, your Mama needs to be easier on herself”
You and Charlie had fallen asleep by the end of the game.
You go into mama bear mode as you feel someone taking Charlie out of you arms so you tighten your grip.
“Baby, it’s me” your hear Alex say.
She takes Alex from you and you both go to the rest of the team.
You look to your left and you see Carli reading your notes.
“You mind if I keep them?” You shake your head not fully awake enough yet to talk.
When you get to the table Christen gives you a coffee.
“Thank you”
“You look like you could use it”
“The joys of taking the early morning shift” you say as you sip on the warm liquid.
“You love it” Alex tells you.
“I do” You say leaning on Alex’s shoulder and she kisses your forehead. You close your eyes and soon find yourself falling to sleep.
