Giant Talking Princess Celestia (Pink)

Released IMMEDIATELY to stores in 2010 directly after the premiere of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic,

the electronic, light up, talking, brushable Princess Celestia....

...was pink (even tho white celestia was literally on the box!) and everyone was so confused.

So before Bronies curled the finger of the monkey's paw that was "can we have show accurate merch?" Hasbro's toy lines were determined basically out of house and with focus groups; children in those groups (or adults), decided the pink horse with the sparkly wings would be more appealing to children seeing the toy for the first time in stores. Not at all considering the adult fanbase (UNDERSTANDABLY) who would be going to Toys R Us looking for "show accurate fandom merch".

By 2012 an exclusive, marketed to older fans as "finally show accurate", Giant Talking Princess Celestia (WHITE) would be released to Toys R Us.

Hasbro would end up releasing a Princess Cadance version of this toy as well!!

Now one of the most interesting Optimus Primes I bought recently is the My Little Prime Crossover figure I had to get him for my collection. I was going to order him from the toysrus website being he is apparently a Toys R Us Exclusive but we ended up going to Halifax so I was more then happy to pick him up in person. I can't remember the last time I bought a My Little Pony thing? I'd say when I was a lil kid in the 80s lol  but like I said I had to get this one to go with my Optimus Prime collection and also he looks really cool at least I think so

Yes, I have EVEN MORE new G3 My Little Ponies from eBay. I don't have anything else to post except ponies! 😅

Baby Honolu-loo and Baby Sparkleberry Swirl were bought individually.

Tropical Delight, Magic Marigold, Gardenia Glow, and Bowtie came together in one lot! The four of them were in a Toys R Us-exclusive pack, apparently. They were REALLY scuffed up and took forever to clean.

one of her first few releases was in wave 3 of the blind bags which came out in july of 2012 where she was simply called "heartstrings" on her card, and her hair and tail are missing the white stripe shown in the show

her second mini figure came out in wave 5 in august 2012 where she was called "lyra heartstrings" and had her normal mane, except her tail was entirely white. her eyes have a gradient in this one which her previous figure didn't have

she got her first brushable in the canterlot wedding line which came out in 2012. her box calls her "lyra heartstrings" rather than just heartstrings like her first mini figure did, so i think that means this one came out after the mini figure although i could be wrong

her next brushable came out in 2013 as a part of the toys r us exclusive collectors series. she came in the pack with chrysalis. it might be because of the image quality, but judging by the photos this one seems to be the first brushable she got with such a bold ouline on her cutiemark

her next brushable came out in 2014 as a single, and in this one her colors are a lot more saturated than normal and she's missing her white stripes again. this one looks a lot more similar to her first mini figure although her first mini fugre had a lighter mane and tail than this release

the rest of her brushables are pretty standard, of course her mold changes during the reboot, but that's to be expected. lyra was also given 2 equestria girls dolls, both of which had lighter hair than any of her other toys did, and both of them were also missing the white stripe in her hair. her cutiemark crew figure seems to have the same hair mold as bubbles? i could be wrong tho. anyway i just find it interesting how her name was different in her first release, i'm not entirely sure what motivated them to change her name at any point although the mini figures have a history of giving characters weird names or weird variations of their names? so it's not too surprising.

08/02/19: Pony Acquisition Post #373: My Little Pony Fair Brags: G4 Princess Celestia and Princess Cadence- Toys R Us exclusive Friendship Festival Release!

Year Released: 2017

I didn’t get a lot of G3s, and not so many G4′s either,  but I did end up getting these two ladies! These are from the “Princess Parade” set that was a Toys R Us exclusive for the MLP movie. They have glitter on all 4 legs, printed on necklaces, and tinsel in their hair, as well as translucent wings, making them unique! 

What killed me was that Luna was the most wanted pony from this set that I wanted, as I love her blue shoe coloring, but she was sold right before I got to the booth! So sad! I really need to get her!

Original Condition: Near Mint!
