#my estranged parents txted me at 6am to wish me a merry christmas 'from my real family' and to 'remember what we talked about re: [my wife]'#alluding to how they spent a full hour on christmas 2018 telling me about how she's apparently an evil controlling person bc we treat each#other like equal partners and get each other's feedback on things that we're doing together (instead of me being like. the patriarch ig???)#and then continued to push this narrative despite asking them not to all the way up until i cut them off for not respecting boundaries...#honestly this is a really bizarre play on their part lol. 'We're your real family and btw remember why you cut us off!' ok thanks i guess!#weird to see them go back to that narrative after they showed up at my apartment from the other side of the country on my bday last year#bc I would not talk to them and the only thing that got them to leave was my wife calmly re-explaining why I'd cut them off and giving them#good advice for things to work on if they did want me to talk to them again (they of course ignored this)#anyway. I love getting to choose who is my real family actually!
