Love when I start hallucinating music in the sound of my white noise machine
#time to go to bed? perhaps#my brain just does this because it's highly pattern seeking btw lol i'm fine it just gets a little weirder/more distinct when i'm tired#i also hear mumbled conversations in it sometimes it's a type of pareidolia. like seeing faces in patterns but auditory#one time years ago i was running a bath and could hear distant violin music that i literally thought was coming from a neighbor or somethin#until i turned the water off and it stopped so then i turned it on and off another few times to check#and yeah that's when i realized my brain was producing it from the sound of the faucet lol#it would pick back up as soon as i turned it back on as if it was a radio i was turning on and off#but it was the weirdest fucking thing because it was a distinct and complex melody that was very beautiful but unfamiliar#like i wasn't just remembering it and then projecting it. it literally didn't feel like it was coming from me it was so funny
