Hiking up to 7km to Kanheri caves leaves a pleasant impact on everyone mind. If anyone is coming for the first time these caves are a must visit.
For the history lovers I highly recommend Elephanta caves which is famous UNESCO world heritage site. For visiting this places you have to reach Gateway Of India and take a ferry.

Finally I would like to add a vital information for a visitor instead of buying tickets frequently. You can get a tourist pass available at any local train station. This pass is not going to freedom from long queues but it also saves good amount of money.
