My old posters for the college project. I don't like all of them, but i think some turned out pretty good.
And I want to say that Mozart l'Opéra Rock is the musical that changed my life forever. Love it very much! I first saw it three years ago.

Amadeus - loved by God; love of God
This was one of my final projects for Kat Lam’s illustration class! I’ve wanted to create a poster for Amadeus for a while now, but through the class I think I was able to push the concept a lot further.
I wanted to capture the conflict Salieri feels possessing mortal approval, when really he desires immortal approval in the form of Mozart’s “god-given” talent.
It was really fun finding references for his hand gestures (I wanted to give him a baton, but apparently they weren’t used in conducting until the early 1800's) and for the theater! It's a real theater in Prague that's been operating since 1783 (and maybe I spotted it again in S2 of IWTV?)
#some thoughts under cut#also thought it would be extremely funny to doom him to have his identity overwritten by mozart's name lmao#desire and hatred and envy and desperation etc#amadeus#antonio salieri#poster design#f murray abraham#illustration#my art#just. love this movie

AMADEUS (1984) - MAESTRI: COMPOSERS IN MOVIES (Part 1/10)
The movie Maestro by Bradley Cooper, devoted to the life of genial composer and Conductor Leonard Bernstein, is one of the most recent Musical Biopics. While flawed on the musical level, it allowed many people to rediscover the power and beauty of Music, Classical Music and composing.
The Musical biopic was a genre very much en vogue in the mid50's to the 70's with tens of movies focusing on the lives of Classical Music Composters such as Johannes Strauss, Franz Liszt, Piot Tchaikovsky, Franz Schubert as well as Jazz bandlears which this 10 Part Blog succinctly tries to cover.
However the genre's most fanmus movie of the last 50 years undoubtedly remains Amadeus by Milos Forman which not only won 8 Oscars but more importantly made millions of people (re)discover the power and beauty of Classical Music.
Above are the Czech movie poster and 2 Japanese posters (Click on each image for details)
Director: Milos Forman Actors: Tom Hulce, F. Murray Abraham

wait before i go if you are a toxic yaoihead who is specifically watching this space because you want to see deranged guys beating each other with sticks you NEED to watch Amadeus (1984) im not fucking kidding look at this poster
It's a 3-hour madness desire repression homoerotic masked descent drama about a composer (Salieri) who sees himself as Mozart's greatest musical rival, but at the same time, he loves him too much, and therefore he must find a way to kill him. one of the best movies of all time if you love and crave mess. chief hag central. intricate rituals as a thesis.
it is of course a tragedy but it really slaps and if you watch it let me know what you think later

@sapphireshineauthor 's latest post got me thinking some more about hamefura in a Modern high school AU, with no doom flags to worry about. They'd be so much fun in that setting and this is what I think their personalities would be like.
Katarina would definitely be our sustainability queen, growing local gardens, supporting local farmers, all about that eco-friendly life basically and reducing her and everyone around her's carbon footprint. Like my girl would be posting about the benefits all over social media so hard, becoming everyone's environmental icon.
And Alan has to have a band. Like I love the classical music, but Alan in a punk rock phase while his brothers yell at him to lower the volume would be the funniest thing. Then he'd make up a rhythm on the spot and be offered a deal with 15 record companies before they realize he's the next Mozart.
Geordo, our super put together simp is basically the same without the fiance card. rip him
Sophia would have one of those book toks with several million followers because she'd be the one finding books nobody else has ever heard of that scratches the itch without being a similar plot with new characters. Everyone wants to know how she does it, but it's her special secret.
i want Mary to be a fashionista, a real trend setter, but like she's not even trying to do that. she's just bringing in her flowers and trying to show Katarina how nice she looks, and then she'll turn around to see half the school has copied her look.
Maria just aces home ec to the point where the teachers just give her an A+ and make her their TA. she teaches everyone all the basic life skills, that most people have forgotten at this point (no im not projecting bc i wanna learn this stuff. totally not) She'd also be the STEM nerd of the bunch
Nicol is on debate team. he's a passive boy so everyone forced him to join a club where he has to argue. he's thriving there
Keith. I want Keith to accidentally fall into a modeling gig, because he'd make such a good poster boy and he's so nice he can't say no. He's constantly hiding from his fangirls too

Hey you got lots of time to nurse a holiday hangover? Why not check out my Papa-Coded 18th Century Cad films?! There's hours of entertainment and fancy clothing and men being absolute cads in so many delightful ways.
I like films. A lot. So here's so films I like. I hope you have 10+ hours hehe
Primo
Barry Lyndon (1975)
Irish Cad with a heart of Gold does a lot of scheming to get to the top. Pretty sure Wes Anderson loves this film. It's about the rise and fall and rise and fall and fall and fall of a very handsome dude that also does bare knuckle boxing at one point. My favorite Kubrick Film tbh.
Secondo
Amadeus (1984)
Ultimately about the question of what makes an artist successful: Natural talent or force of will? Watch the strong willed but scheming Sallieri get tormented by the effortlessly talented Mozart. And then watch him just snap. (And yes the movie poster inspired Infestissumam)
Terzo
Dangerous Liaisons (1988)
Two Rococo Courtier Hoes with a corruption kink try to out hoe each other but then oh no enemies to lovers to enemies. Also there's Keanu Reeves in there who still sounds like a surfer dude but damn John Malkovich would play Terzo in the Papa III biopic FR
Copia
Tomb of Ligeia (1964)
Angsty weirdo being angsty and weird in a gothic castle. The silliest film on my list but hey Copia is pretty silly. Also Vincent Price gives off very soft Dom energy here. Big fan.
