I love how Terry Pratchett takes a concept from the modern world, shifts it over to the disc world, but then adds some bizarre twist. Like how in moving pictures, it explores the film industry, but also movies can let horrible eldrirch beasts into this reality. In soul music, he explores the life of a musician, but adds in a guitar that possesses people. In small gods, he explores facets of religion, but the god is actually present for the story. It’s so cool and interesting because it’s fantasy and social commentary.
