Just finished Annihilation and... I have never, ever felt so seen by a protagonist. Sometimes I like characters, but I treat them as a separate entity from myself. I have now had the deeply pleasurable experience of reading Lovecraft for Scientists and I want to bask in this awe forever.
#ptxt#I have never had such an out-of-body experience knowing i would do /exactly/ what this protagonist did. Being driven by the /exact/ same#motivations. For every ounce that I'm Meh about Lovecraft i /love/ Annihilation.#No fucking way the movie could do any of this justice.
