Shows really need to stop doing this thing where they have a couple, break them up, have them develop a really solid friendship after individual, personal arcs outside of each other then have them be attracted to each other still and almost try again only for the former almost a couple again be at a wedding where the guy reiterates that he'll always be there for her after making some kind of gesture of unconditional love
and not have them try again or have them get back together in the story.
I get it. I do. But history, personal development and friendship are like the most solid foundations for a healthy romantic relationship.

Korrasami is actually utilized very well and is very well developed unlike Makorra actually, where even after the break Korra and Mako barely interacted.
"break them up, have them develop a really solid friendship after individual, personal arcs outside of each other then have them be attracted to each other still"
Korra showed 0 attraction towards Mako, she didn't even mention him when he wasn't around or completely forgot he was with them, often ignoring him when they actually shared a scene.
"where the guy reiterates that he'll always be there for her after making some kind of gesture of unconditional love"
What kind of gesture of unconditional love? Mako didn't do anything for Korra, he was learning that because of his willingness to risk his life to save the others. That was not a gesture of unconditional love, THIS is:
"and not have them try again or have them get back together in the story."
Ah good old "Mako 'deserved' Korra after what he did with risking his life and lightning bending" argument, like how much do you devalue Korra that you think she's literally a prize to be handed out?
"But history, personal development and friendship are like the most solid foundations for a healthy romantic relationship."
You're right actually, let's see:
"and for mako they really made him distancing from korra in the comics they barely have interactions while they literally had the strongest relationship out of everyone in that show-making it feel ooc and non canon compliant"
He was distant, and he barely had interactions with Korra in the last two seasons. The comics just continued the same. Due to the important fact that they broke up and he is no longer important to her life and her new relationship with Asami.
"they literally had the strongest relationship out of everyone in that show"
Funniest thing I've read today. Let's see who Korra actually had the strongest relationships with: Asami Sato, Tenzin, Katara, her parents, Jinora, Ikki, Meelo, Toph, Zuko, Bolin... etc... before we even get to Mako...
"making it feel ooc and non canon compliant"
Only in your poor fanfictions and headcanons...
@cell151 Can you believe this shit?
