Hi!! Was rechecking your Twitter and the Vrains live thread and that comment about Yusaku caring is so real. Like, MAN HE REALLY CARES!!! There's many times in the show that he cares deeply and it breaks my heart. Like in the Spectre duel, HE LEGIT WAS WILLING TO NOT ATTACK SPECTRE BECAUSE HE WANTED TO SAVE AKIRA AND AGHHHH

LITERALLY WITH EACH EPISODE THE DEEPER I GO IM JUST. COMPLETELY BAFFLED "YUSAKU DOESNT CARE" IS A READ THATS ANY SHRED OF POPULAR AT ALL. we're shown time and time again how false that is!! we're shown that PRACTICALLY IN THE VERY FIRST FUCKING EPISODE when he politely tells shima he kind of Sucks Ass at dueling, but then also gives him 3 reasons why he has good potential.... it's so telling of who he is as a person! just because he doesnt Turn To the Camera and Say "gee i sure care about the people in my life!" doesnt make him a stoic ice cold edgelord!!! LIKE!!! some ygo people are just such a baffling degree of Bad at Understanding These Characters, idgi!!

his duel with akira is also SO so indicative of this; that whole thing where he purposely ended the duel later than he could have because he wanted to keep The Cards Symbolic of Akira and Skye's Bond out of the GY is FUCKING CRAZY. AND SO SWEET. AND SO TOUCHING. AND NOT THE TYPE OF SHIT SOMEONE WHO DOESNT CARE WOULD DO!!!! if you earn yusaku's loyalty he is a friend for fucking LIFE. HE WILL BE THE REALEST ONE YOU'VE EVER KNOWN.

AND YEAH HIS ENTIRE FIRM DECISION TO NOT PUT AKIRA'S LIFE ON THE LINE JUST TO WIN AGAINST SPECTRE IS SO. i had to go run and clip this actually cuz I honestly like the dub version of this bit more than the sub version--in the sub we get playmaker like "my dueling always wins" which is.. fine, but holy FUCK.
