As much as I'm enjoying going through the anime, I will say it's got some MASSIVE pacing issues compared to the manga. Everything takes sooooo much longer to get through, and yea I know that's a given when going from reading chapters to watching episodes, it's inherently going to take longer. But it's soooo obvious when they stall for time by dragging out scenes way longer than they need to be or adding scenes that are completely unnecessary and it really gets on my nerves sometimes. Like with Impel Down, how the hell did they manage to take 25 chapters and drag it out over 27 episodes?? It's really quite something
#thinking out loud#I know this makes it sound like I don't like the anime but I do!!#most of the time it'a really fun stuff and I would even argue that some scenes are greatly enhanced in the anime#(one day I'll write a post abt how I think the finale at thriller bark w/sanji and zoro was even better in the anime than the manga)#but sometimes it gets a little rough trying to slog through certain bits#anyway I just realized I didn't write down what fandom I'm talking about even once but y'all know what I'm talking about anyway right?#it's all I've been talking about for the last 4 months!!

I don't know if you already did it (I might have missed it on the masterlist) but would you do Taka and Leon's honeymoon?
Hey anon!
No I haven't! I've briefly mentioned (somewhere) where they go and that Leon organises it. But it was a passing comment and not a full in depth thing. And I would be very glad to divulge.
So fun fact - I'm basing their honeymoon on my own. It was honestly a once in a life time holiday for me and I would want everyone to be able to experience it! They're a bit better off in life than me so they get some higher spec things than me though!! And also lets just pretend the weather is amazing (like mine was) and not typical rainy weather okay?
So with that, let's get cracking! Thank you so much for the ask and I hope you enjoy!!
************************
• Since Taka threw himself into wedding planning, Leon was giving the task of deciding and planning their honeymoon.
• Probably for the best really, since Taka tried to argue that a weekend in Tokyo would have been sufficient.
• But Leon LOVES travelling and knows deep down Taka does too.
• And so with the help of his parents, he comes up with the best idea he has ever had.
• On the morning after their wedding, after a fairly sleepless night (ahem), Leon ushers them out of the room and downstairs for a quick breakfast.
• They hand their unneccessary belongings to Leon's parents, who've arrived to collect their things, and are swiftly whisked away by Takaaki to the airport.
• Taka is DYING to know what they're doing, DYING to know how long they'll be away for and just generally DYING to get ANY information out his husband (*WHEEZE* HUSBAND)
• But Leon, the sneaky shit he is, gives nothing away and by the time Takaaki waves them off, Taka's about to explode.
• It's only when they get to the ticket collection point and Taka sees 'London' on the tickets does he realise they're heading to the UK.
• He has ALWAYS wanted to go to London - see Buckingham Palace and Big Ben and London Eye (which he knows they won't actually ride on but still).
• He's wanted to go for so long that he's taken it upon himself to teach Leon how to speak English.
• He can't stop himself from hugging Leon as he's still talking to the receptionist - not seeing the huge grin on Leon's face at the gesture.
• The flight is long - nearly 12 hours - and they make sure to change their phones to UK time and sleep as much as they can on the flight to battle the jet lag.
• They arrive at 3pm and head to their hotel to drop their stuff off before plowing on through the tiredness to explore the city.
• They make it a few hours before giving up and crashing at 8pm so the next day they're nice and fresh.
• They spend a whole week in London and go to see pretty much anything and everything.
• They go to see Lion King in the West End, watch the change of guard ceremony at Buckingham Palace, see the London Dungeons, Madame Tussauds, Big Ben...even catch the Knight Bus to go to the Harry Potter studios.
• And as the week is coming to a close, Taka's already talking about going home and all the stories they'll have to tell.
• Little does he know its not over yet.
• They pack up their stuff and head to the train station, Taka leading the way and making his way to the station heading to the airport.
• But Leon takes his hand and pulls them a different direction.
• 'But the airport is...'
• 'Not where we're going. Come on.'
• Taka is beyond confused as Leon takes them to a station leading to Southampton - a city Taka has briefly heard of but not enough to twig.
• It's only an hour and a half journey and when they get there, they check into a spa hotel for the day.
• They're pampered entirely - Leon loving life and Taka, though enjoying thoroughly, still tries to pry information out of his husband.
• All he gets is that they need to wake up early for the taxi to pick them up and his other questions are met with a knowing smirk.
• The next morning, they bundle into the taxi and Leon immediately tells the driver not to reveal where they're going - kissing away the pout on his husband's lips with a smirk.
• The entire journey, while Leon chatters to the driver in pretty decent English, Taka tries to find clues as to where they're going.
• Although seeing the docks with a massive cruise ship is a huge giveaway and Taka's eyea pop out of his skull as he turns to Leon, who's still chatting but watching him in the corner of his eye with a smirk.
• 'Are we going on a cruise ship?!'
• 'Maybe.'
• 'Where are we going?!'
• 'You'll have to wait and see, won't you?'
• It doesn't take long to find out that they're heading to Norway - Taka's dream holiday.
• And it doesn't take long after that for Taka to burst into tears - leaving Leon to explain to the ticket lady that he's just excited for the surprise honeymoon destination.
• The ship is HUGE and FANCY and just INCREDIBLE - and they get lost many times on the way to their room.
• Which is amazing since Leon went all out and got them one of the honeymoon suites - a seaview balcony with a giant kingsized bed and a huge bathtub
• They get a free meal delivered to their room that evening with complimentary drinks as well.
• The first two days are at sea, which they spend swimming in the onboard pool and lounging in the sun reading or chatting.
• The third day they dock at Stavanger and spend the day walking around the town, heading to see the monument called Sverd i fjell and trying local cuisine.
• The next day is breathtaking as they dock in a little place called Olden and take a hike up moutains to see a glacier - the moutains so high and the river water so blue unlike anything they've ever seen - before walking around the tiny village of Olden for a few hours.
• The next day is spend in Geiranger - a beautiful town with a waterfall that you can walk along and into a museum before heading back and seeing just how small the cruise ship is in comparision to the fjords.
• And then the final stop is in Bergen where they spend the day mooching around the markets.
• They take SO MANY PICTURES it'a unbelievable - even the photoconscious Taka is pulling Leon in for selfies as often as he can.
• They're entirely loved up and proud, not thinking twice when they kiss in public or dance around to random street musicians together.
• It's almost a shame to go home, but they've had the most wonderful time together.
• There's no more surprises so they're ushered into a shuttle bus back to the airport and catch their 12 hour flight back to Japan, all loved up and content.
