Had a misunderstanding at work today about work priorities. I spent 5:00am to 10:00 am setting up a particular machine and then transitioned into paperwork and running production on said machine. Come 1:00 pm my boss is furious I’ve been running production for the last 3 hours. Apparently I was supposed to setup that machine and then immediately pivot and start a setup on a second machine trying to get things ready for some of our less competent operators to run production. He says he told me that this morning. I don’t remember that at all. (Granted it was was like 4:45 am we had that conversation). But he told me that eurotech was my priority this morning I guess I assumed it was my task for the day not abandon it the second you start production. Anyway I said I apologize but we probably need to do a better job of communicating with eachother and he countered with a, “no, you need to do a better job of listening to work instructions” like dude I tried to extend an olive branch here… I immediately pivoted and had that mori seiki lathe going by 4:00 when I left. So I thought I was in the clear like got both things done still. Nope! Still mad. Tomorrow should be fun.
