ah sahm's body language and the way he fights are just spellbinding. unfortunately he is not a likeable person! his main personality traits as of the pilot are 'outspoken and arrogant badass fighter dude' which I guess makes sense for the setting/situation but there are easy ways to make him an interesting and sympathetic character without sacrificing his tough-guy facade. and there's nothing less cool that a guy who fights really well bragging about how well he fights. be more cool about it! also I said Mandarin in my last post but it seems like his name (nickname) is Cantonese. I wish the actors were given a bit more training because even when saying Chinese names, most of them sound VERY American English, which is odd bc they're supposedly not even speaking English

anyway his dedication to finding his sister is admirable, but when you hear their backstory I'm like. are you kidding me? you suck as a brother! and his single moral stance in the episode is 'I don't hire sex workers because I want women to have a choice' which would be something except then he just has sex with the madam who is...the person who makes sure that her employees don't have a choice. so he opposes sex work then has sex with the person who's running the brothel? dude
