There's always a part of Thancred that never forgot that when he was possessed by Lahabrea, Mr. Meowdred Surana bona fide wanted to kill him 4 real before everyone politely outvoted him about it.

And they'd gotten to know each other a lot better since then, and Thancred was at least 60% sure that Meowdred actually liked him even under all that gruffness and general I-find-you-annoying aura, but he couldn't stop that thought from Bothering him as he and Urianger sallied forth to Tural.

Urianger could offer no comfort, as he had been on Meowdred's unbearable Cold Shoulder list -- worse than his shit list, because Meowdred would at least acknowledge that he existed outside of group context if that was the case -- since lying to him about the Crystal Exarch on the First. And the other time(s) that he told lies.

So sometimes they just thought about the cat back home and went 😐😐

It felt preposterous to fear Meowdred. No matter what, they were basically old D&D group mates and still ride-or-die. But they kind of did, for some reasons.

Thancred jokingly said at least Meowdred wasn't tall enough to reach Urianger's neck. Urianger said prithee refrain from jest... he dost command the remnants of a great wyrm and the primal persona of our late Louisoux...
