watching 9-1-1 (because i kept seeing it on my tumblr feed and why the hell not, lone star was good so this should be good too) and im on s2, just got hit by "you two have such a cute son" said to eddie and buck. how did it take them 5 seasons to take any steps towards this??? i really thought y'all were delusional like loki/mobius shippers but apparently not

Thoughts on the 2013 Marvel Now Morbius series?. It's probably his most well known book next to maybe his 90s Midnight Sons series.

Okay so when this came out I was thrilled, any attention is good attention and so forth. BUT... after multiple rereadings I can honestly say I don't like it and there's a few reasons for that. For one, the plot is kind of nonsensical. He kills a local crime leader who was under the control of a bigger crime lord who... was in cahoots with Morb's father to...lower property values? It's dumb, it's like soap opera level dumb, convoluted, and I will admit it has nice moments in it! I love him hanging out with a homeless street artist, I like him playing vigilante again, the interactions with Spidey? MMMMMFFFF. Hell, I even love the idea of him adopting a small neighborhood area and patrolling it, but it changed some of his lore for the worse and he had absolutely no agency in his own comic plot. Everything happens around him. He is not the source of conflict in his comic. You could have written this story with literally any Marvel character plopped in and it would have played out similar. It feels like they did not know what to do. Instead of any depth into a man with addiction issues and superhuman problems we get mostly him trying to put out fires. ALL the conflict is from outside Morb except for a couple of 'whoops' moments but even those aren't delved into, they just make another fire to put out and the plot moves on. The art is great, I can even forgive the haircut they gave him and the ugly streetclothes because I could see him doing that, but some of the talk coming out of his mouth feels very much NOT Morbius so I'm full on blaming the writer. As far as the scale of Morbius comics goes 4/10. Read what we got of the 2020 series instead, it's criminal we didn't get the Blade arc of that.

I know Dracula isn't a good guy, but Blade and all of Dracula's hunters are just as bad. In a black and white solo 70s story, Blade kills some vampire children. I don't care if they're vampires, blade still killed children. He also tried to kill morbius once, even though morbius doesn't even want to hurt anyone. So I will never read about Dracula or about Blade. They both seem to suck. How tomb of dracula got 70 issues is beyond me. There were better books that got less issues, for god's sakes!

2) is a vampire with glowing red eyes

3) comes from a universe where he replaced a different spiderman

and we know miles “replaced” a different spiderman in his reality and he was SUPPOSED to be the prowler

so like. what if miguel isn’t actually a spiderman at all and he’s morbius or some shit trying to get rid of the spideys? like HE is the original mistake, not miles, since miles fits the spiderman bill WAY more than miguel does? he was supposed to be someone else and forced himself into the spiderman role because he didn’t like his universe version of himself

I hate Monster Hunters. Especially when I'm reading comics or stories about sympathetic monsters. Screw Blade and Moon Knight and Elsa Bloodstone and all them, give me Morbius! Give me Man-Thing! Give me the Werewolf by Night! The monsters are usually way more sympathetic because they're persecuted! These monster hunters are not sympathetic to me, and I don't think you can make them sympathetic (not after they spend their time trying to wipe out a whole group of beings).
