❛ ━━・❪ Rainy day: Monoma Neito x reader ❫ ・━━ ❜
Word count: 808, Gender- Neutral reader
You and Neito had been walking along the sidewalk on your way back to the dorms from a dinner date in Musutafu, holding his umbrella over the both of you. His attention was completely on the city around him, watching the other passersby's and cars drive by. However, his attention changed when he noticed that you were not by his side anymore.
“Hey, where-“ he glanced back, noticing you playing in the rain like a gleeful child. A soft smile touched his lips. “Are you serious..” He muttered, walking towards you.
Neito stopped behind you, his boots getting a little wet from the puddles. He looked at you with a rather soft and fond expression. “What are you doing? You’re going to get your clothes wet in this rain.” He said in a fond tone, a small smirk dancing on his lips.
You look at him before sending a small smile his way. “It's fun! C'mon, join just a lil?”
Neito chuckled, looking down to the wet pavement. “Join you in playing in the rain?” He said, lifting his eyebrows and tilting his head a little, as in a silent question to make sure that he heard it right.
You grab his free hand into your slightly damp ones, “Mhm, just for a little. You can handle some rain, right?”
Neito chuckled again, his smirk widening a little. “I guess I could....” He would consider it childish if anyone else had offered, his reputation would be bruised if had been caught in such behaviors. But for you, he wouldn't resist. He closed his own umbrella, putting it away. “I hope you’re happy. I’m risking getting sick now.” He said teasingly, before he stepped a little closer, standing right in front of you under the rain.
He watched as your boots splashed upon the puddles, making him get a little bit more wet. He let out a small sigh, rolling his eyes. “I can’t believe I’m actually doing this.” He muttered, his clothes and hair getting a little wetter from the rain drops from above, his hand still holding onto your's gently.
Over the period of time, his hair had become completely soaked, damp clumps sticking to his forehead, the blond color darkened. You chuckle softly, looking atop his head. He glanced down to you, his eyes sparkling with warm amusement.
“What? What are you laughing at?” He asked with an arched eyebrow, his gaze following yours.
You reach a hand up, pushing his hair back. “Your hairs all screwed up, babe”
Neitos brows raised, watching as you reached up. His smirk returned once more as he couldn’t help but tease. “Really? Screwed up?” He said in a slightly cheeky tone. The damp, almost clinging hair fell back down over his forehead, a few strands sticking to his skin as soon as you retracted your hand. “Is it really so bad?”
You shake your head, “Looks good on you”
He chuckled quietly, his gaze roaming slowly over your face, taking in the water droplets dripping down your lashes and skin. “I’m definitely going to get a cold now.. all because of you.” He muttered.
You grab the umbrella from his hand, holding it over you to cease the rain. You sling an arm over his neck, leaning in. “Gah, is the prince gonna catch a cold now? Pretty weak immune system you got there babe”
Neito chuckled again, closing his eyes and letting out a small, mock-pained groan, as if complaining. “You’re so mean to me, love..” He said in an almost pouting tone, looking like a grumpy little child. He moved his arms around your waist, his hands resting low on your hips. “All I’m saying is that you better take care of me then.” He started with a smirk.
“Pft, okay my liege”
“Oh shut up.” He rolled his eyes playfully. He leaned closer to you, his eyes locked with yours, the familiar gray-blue shade with an amused sparkle.“I will have you know that I am a very pleasant patient.”
“Uh-huh” You hum, leaning your damp forehead on his.
He lifted one of his hands to touch your jaw gently, his thumb tracing softly over your chin. “You better believe me. I expect you to bring me soup when I get all sick and bedridden because of you.” He said in a playfully accusing tone, a smirk slowly appeared on his face.
You huff before nudging him back enough into the rain, taking the umbrella with you as you jogged off, leaving him to his dampened doom.
Neito’s eyes widened, gasping in surprise.. “Hey! Give that back!” He called after you, beginning into a sprint as his hair stuck to his forehead, water running down his face.
His boots splashed in the puddles, shouting over the pattering rain. “Get back here! You little thief, come back here!”
Safe to say, you both looked like wet dogs once you got back to the dorms.

Hello, I wanted to know if there is a way to write a Monoma x reader shy oneshot that is in classe 1-C and that Monoma has a crush on she (she would be very shy with people from other classes)
[ Alright here we go. This was actually way longer, but I didn't want to make a super long one-shot. So that being the case, there will be a part two to this as soon as I finish writing it. But I hope you enjoy part one. ]
A sigh left your lips as you flipped to the next page of the Encyclopedia of Heroes, continuing to search for information for your project. Some may say that being a General Studies student is boring. Although Yuuei was known for its Hero Course, the school itself was elite.
Regardless of what department you were placed in, the education you received was top-notch. Of course, most would argue that the hero and support department students got off easy considering the academic projects they were assigned were few and far between.
The project you were assigned was to pick a concept within hero studies and present it to the class. The concept you chose was to compare characteristics between pro heroes and current student heroes. You were hoping to find out which traits truly make a hero shine.
Granted this required you to narrow your selection of heroes down. While you could interview the former number-one hero, considering he was a teacher at Yuuei, your shy nature worked against you. Outside of the General Studies Department, you hardly spoke to anyone.
Whether this was due to social anxiety or not was unknown. However, you had long since learned to accept your shyness even if it got in the way of completing simple tasks. Sighing, you closed the encyclopedia and rose from the table, placing your hand on your forehead.
You looked around the library. There were a few other students present, either sitting down at one of the provided computers or talking to one another. You glanced down at the table. In addition to the encyclopedia, there were several papers scattered across it, each filled with notes referring to your project.
“Maybe I should…take a break…” you muttered to yourself. You looked toward the exit, debating getting a snack from the vending machine. You latched onto your lip and curled your hands into the bottom of your shirt as your stomach twisted with familiar anxiety.
Then again, did you really want to leave? What if someone tried to talk to you at the vending machine and you froze up? You groaned and pressed your hands against your face. ‘Calm down,’ you tried taking a deep breath, blissfully unaware of the peeping eyes watching your every move.
Those eyes belonged to Neito Monoma. Yes, anyone, apart from those so-called “heroes” in Class A, would feel honored to be the target of his affection. In fact, he first saw you in this library months ago. You had your face buried in a book and he was standing nearby when another general studies student approached you.
Of course, he wanted to eavesdrop and get some juicy gossip. This was because it was always interesting to hear what was taking place in other departments. But when you lowered that book from your face, he felt his heart soar.
To hide such beauty was surely a crime. Of course, you weren’t as beautiful as him but a perfect fit, nonetheless. He decided right then and there, you would be his. He had carefully calculated his moves, waiting for the right moment to slip in.
This was because he had long since learned how shy you were around others. It was quite endearing, but he might be able to help you with that once you two got closer. After all, he was going to be a famous hero and needed a confident, competent partner by his side.
“You can…you can do this,” you hesitated to move, believing that several eyes were watching you. In reality, everyone was minding their own business. You slowly placed one foot in front of the other, and before you knew it, you scurried out of the library with your head down.
Neito chuckled as he watched you leave. “How amusing,” he said, looking at the table you were sitting at. “Hm,” he perched his lips and glanced over the cover of the encyclopedia, curiously opening, and flipping through the first few pages although he found it quite boring, and yet jealousy filled him.
He closed it with force and firmly pressed his palm against it. Why would you waste your precious time reading about other heroes when he was your one and only hero? Even if you didn’t know it yet, his perfection did not pass you by...did it?
He grumbled before noticing the piles of notes underneath the encyclopedia. “Oh, what did my shy darling write? Surely, she is more intelligent than those Class A students!” he declared, bluntly ignoring anyone who heard him as he moved the book and gently compiled your notes into a neat stack.
He scanned over the first page, jealous that you spent so much time analyzing other heroes instead of him. He huffed and read through the second note which was piled with thoughts on the various characteristics found in famous heroes and some scribbled thoughts regarding hero students' characteristics.
He frowned, going through the pile until he threw it back onto the table. “How dare she write such admiration for other heroes!” he hissed, clenching his fists together. He wanted to be the only one on your mind. He could prove to you that he was the only hero worth your time and-oh wait!
Yes! That was it, how brilliant of him! He would simply offer to be a part of your project. From what he could gather you were quite eager to learn about hero students, and what better one to analyze than him!? Yes, the temptation to join your project was overwhelming.
If you were truly dedicated to it, there was no reason you’d say no and so he waited for you to return. Your heart was beating fast as you jogged past the entrance of the library, and hunched over, pressing your hands against your knees.
One of them clenched the snack you got from the vending machine. Despite your anxiety continuing to escalate you accomplished your small goal and the reward was delicious onigiri. A bit plain in terms of a snack, but it suited you well and would be filling until you left for the day.
You took a deep breath and leaned back up as your heart thumped in your chest. You looked at the onigiri in your hand and smiled, unwrapping it as you walked back to your table. You took one satisfying bite, enjoying the salty taste dancing across your tongue.
However, this small moment of joy came to a staggering halt when you saw someone sitting at your table and stopped in your tracks. His hair was the first thing you noticed, as it looked silky and was the fairest blond color you had ever seen.
His eyes stood out next. They were piercing periwinkle and had a hungry or predatorial appearance. His skin looked fair and smooth, and his lips curled into a smirk that sent a violent tremble through your body. “Ah, Y/n,” he said, slowly standing from the chair.
“It’s quite a pleasure to be face to face with you, although I’m certain the pleasure is all yours for gazing at my glorious face. You know many girls speak of its beauty,” he said, chuckling as he pressed a hand to his cheek.
“H-huh?” Your jaw hung open and the partially chewed onigiri fell to the floor. “My, my, one shouldn’t make a mess although your pretty little mouth is likely more appetizing than that onigiri you’re holding,” he purred, rounding the table with hungry eyes still fixated on you.
Your first instinct was to back away, despite your cheeks turning red as if the sun itself had come down and burned you. How did he know your name? Had he been waiting for you to return, and if so why!? He continued walking forward until he was a foot away from you.
His smirk made you tremble and subconsciously hold your breath. “Although I have little interest in the matters of others. After all, if it doesn’t involve me, it’s of little importance. But I couldn’t help but notice the project you were working on,” he stated, gesturing to the table.
“You’re a rather messy one, that’s quite unfitting for a student of such beauty,” he said. Despite your reddened cheeks, you drew your bottom lip into your mouth and glanced away. How could he be so mean, and yet sound so sincere?
His smirk faded and his eyes glossed over as if he were under someone's spell when he noticed you weren’t looking at him. Well, this wouldn’t do. You cried out when he stepped forward, and grasped your chin, making you look at him.
Your eyes were wide and trembling with what he assumed was fear. But you couldn't be afraid of him, right? No, it was just your shy nature. ‘Why is he touching me!?’ You frantically thought, completely disregarding his compliment concerning your beauty.
Your lips trembled in an effort to speak, and yet only a pathetic squeak came out. He chuckled at the sound of it and leaned close. Your heart raced because you weren’t used to others being this physically close to you, especially someone whose name you didn't know.
Despite your rational mind telling you to turn your tail and run, your body wouldn’t listen. This boy, this fellow student, paralyzed you without trying. “Tell me, why are you wasting your time with such trivial heroes when the only one you need to focus your project on is right before you?”
A lump formed in your throat, and you swallowed heavily, your fear turning into confusion. ‘Wait…is he a hero student?’ You could barely recall if you had seen him passing through the hallway, then again you walked with your head down most of the time.
You also had very little interest in watching the Sports Festival, let alone participating in school festivals. “U-um…” you tried to speak again, and again the words failed to form. Neito tilted his head, his facial features enveloped with concern but as silence filled the air, he smirked.
“Ah, speechless in front of me. That’s quite understandable,” he commented, and you couldn’t help but tremble in disgust. Was this guy obsessed with himself? “I’ll make this easy for you then,” he said, finally removing his hand from your chin and smirking again as he saw the color of your cheeks.
So red and luscious. It looked wonderful on you. “I will be a part of your project,” he stated, knowing he was demanding instead of asking. Your eyes widened and you stepped back, wanting to ask him ‘what?’ but not having the courage to form the words. Your face said enough, and Neito chuckled.
“Yes, I know it’s quite a shock,” he said, pressing a hand to his chest. “I'd be a worthwhile contribution, don't you think?” You almost suspected he was asking because he knew you were too shy to answer. Which in a sense was kind of cruel. Then again, even if you somehow responded you assumed he'd keep talking.
“I can even showcase the versatility of my Copy quirk, surely that would convince you that I, Neito Monoma, your Phantom Thief can emulate the abilities of various heroes plus more!” he declared, bluntly ignoring anyone who turned their head in his direction.
Your face was now dripping with sweat, and you weren't sure if that was from your shyness or the fact you were angry at the moment. He approached you, now wearing a smile that looked too sweet and sickening. “Hmm, what do you say?” he asked. “Don’t you agree I’d make a wonderful contribution to your project?”
You glanced away and latched onto your bottom lip which trembled. ‘Well…maybe this is my chance to study a hero student like I wanted, maybe the data I collect from him would be valuable. I could find out why he's so enthusiastic and determined.’
Although your stomach twisted at the thought of spending time with him, and the realization that at some point you'd need to ask him personal questions to determine why certain characteristics he displayed were stronger or weaker than pro heroes made your mouth go dry.
You grumbled before releasing your lip and looking at him. You didn’t say anything, just nodded, and Neito grinned like a madman. “Wonderful!” he said, throwing his hands in the air before brushing past you, purposely rubbing his shoulder against yours.
“I’ll see you tomorrow, same time, same place.” You tried to take a breath when he walked away, but he stopped short and walked up to you again. Your back was facing him, and you cried out when he grasped your hand that was still gripping onto the now squished onigiri.
Your jaw hung open when you turned your head. Soft squeaks came when he locked eyes with you and bit into your snack. You watched his pink tongue come out, collecting any pieces of leftover rice that stuck to his lips before he chewed and swallowed.
“Ta-ta,” he said, waving you goodbye as he walked away, and you could only stare in horror at the bite he had taken. Well…that was a waste of a good snack. The next day, you resented your agreement to allow Neito to be the focus of your project.
You hated knowing that you agreed only because you were a people pleaser and too shy or lacking the voice to express yourself. Then again, he seemed so persistent that even if you said no, he would continue to push until he got his way.
“Yes, I’m quite sure all you pathetic heroes in Class A are in despair that I have been selected to be part of Y/n’s project! Surely it will highlight the various reasons I remain above the heroes that make up your sorry excuse of a class,” he stated bluntly as he stood in the Class A doorway.
Tsuyu spoke first, “Wow, Monoma. That’s some interesting news.” Katsuki clenched his jaw. “Tch, why the hell do we care about something so damn meaningless!?” he shouted, shoving Neito out of the way who chuckled in response.
“Hm, that’s about the answer I’d expect from a delinquent like you,” he replied with a smirk. “Of course, that’s to be expected from one who couldn’t even pass the provisional licensing exam.” Katsuki’s body stiffened, but before he could say anything Eijirou spoke up.
“Jeez, cool it, man! What’s your problem!?” Neito narrowed his eyes. He had a history with the red-headed fool. Seemed they’d always be on opposite ends. “I don’t believe a thing is wrong with me,” he stated before turning his back on Eijirou and the rest of Class A.
“Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m due to meet Y/n at the library.” Eijirou curled his lips, watching Neito walk away in slight disgust before turning to Tsuyu. “Isn’t Y/n someone in general studies?” he asked, and she shrugged.
“Ribbit, I think so. But they don’t talk much to anyone outside of their class,” she replied and Eijirou's eyebrows knit together. If that were the case, how could Neito have convinced you to be part of whatever project you were working on?
Your anxiety was high as you waited for him to appear. Your feet bounced against the carpeted floor below you, and breathing exercises weren’t your friend at the moment. You curled your hands on the table and your eyes focused on the single notebook on it.
You were hoping you wouldn’t have too much to talk about because Neito already showed a variety of characteristics that contrasted pro heroes. Either way, you needed to document as much information as possible if you wanted your project to thrive.
You closed your eyes, taking another much-needed breath before nervously tapping the tip of your pencil against the notebook, but this didn’t ease the knots in your stomach. ‘Why did it have to be him though?’ At times like this, you wondered if fate was being cruel or challenging you to overcome the obstacle of your shy nature.
You tried to redirect your thoughts and opened your notebook, although your hand was trembling. You decided to write an introduction regarding your project and the subject you’d be studying, Neito Monoma. “Hm,” you paused and tapped the pencil against your lips. What did he say his quirk was?
You thought for a moment before scribbling down ‘Copy?’ With any luck you’d find out more about his quirk as this progressed. However, if you were being honest, you wanted this to end as soon as possible. You sighed and laid the pencil onto the notebook.
You stared blankly at the lined pages until approaching footsteps made you raise your head. Your throat tightened when you saw the smirk on Neito’s face and those eyes held that same intimidating gaze as before.
“Hello dear Y/n,” he said, pressing one hand against his chest. Your breathing turned heavy, your face dusted over red, and his greeting was met with silence. “Oh, still shy I see,” he said, brushing a hand through his hair.
“How adorably you,” he commented, causing your already abnormal heart rate to skyrocket. “Mm…” You clasped your hands together in your lap and leaned forward, your mind urging you to return his greeting. However, as the seconds passed, awkwardness consumed you.
The weight of his stare didn’t help, but you felt relief when he took a seat. What could you say to him? How could you get through this project?! He smiled and took a moment to admire how devilishly delicious you looked with those reddened cheeks before glancing down and noticing your open notebook.
“Oh, and what do we have here?” he asked, reaching over to grab it. You gasped and leaned across the table to get your notebook back. In response, Neito leaned back and held the notebook away from you. A hungry glance flashed in his eyes when you looked at him.
You trembled and immediately scrambled back only to collide with your chair, causing it to fall to the floor along with you. You could feel the stares on you and a few people approached, making your already reddened face deepen.
You could only stare at the carpet trying to fight back the awkwardness while simultaneously wishing the floor would swallow you whole. “Hey there!” a cheerful voice said, breaking through the silence and darkness that clouded your mind at that moment.
You lifted your head to see a tall and muscular boy, who you quickly assumed was a third-year student. He had blue eyes and a round button-like nose. His blond hair was spiked up in the front and looked short around the back.
He smiled and extended his hand to you. “Need a hand? Heh, get it? Hand!?” he exclaimed excitedly, making your eyebrows knit. “Excuse me!” Neito snapped, standing between you and the third-year student. “How dare you attempt to lay a hand on Y/n,” he growled, curling his hands into fists by his sides.
Your eyes widened, amazed that he didn't care about the attention turned on him. Then again, given his personality, he probably thrived on it. “Huh?” He blinked. “Oh hey, you’re one of those first-year students, Monoma, right?”
“Nice to meet you, I'm Mirio Togata!” he said, now extending the hand he had held out to you to Neito instead. However, he only received the boy’s angry glare in return and watched as he wrapped his arm around you and pulled you close. You trembled at his touch, but he seemed to ignore this at the moment.
Mirio blinked, taking in the image of the two of you. “Oh, heh sorry did I interrupt something?” he asked, scratching the side of his head. Your heart was racing so fast you weren’t sure if you were nervous or having a heart attack.
Neito holding you so close was new and though you wanted to push him away, your shy nature prevented you from acting. Neito narrowed his eyes and turned his head, ignoring Mirio. You flinched when his hair brushed against your head, and he locked his eyes with yours.
You could feel his hot breath against your face when he spoke. “Oh, my dear, Y/n are you alright? Don’t pay any mind to the upperclassmen who rudely interrupted our study session,” he said, using his other hand to wave Mirio away.
“Hm?” Mirio tilted his head in response before chuckling. “Heh, well okay!” he smiled. “Have a good session!” he said walking away. Neito snarled and removed his arm from around you only when he was sure that Mirio had actually left.
“Now that the interruption is over, perhaps we can do something else,” he said, reaching down to grab your hands, which once again caused your face to grow red. You wanted to ask, ‘Like what?’ but like before, your words were frozen in your throat, and you glanced away as he helped you stand up.
“Notes are quite dull and boring,” he said, moving closer to the table to grab your notebook. “It would be far more interesting to watch me in action. After all, I did promise I’d let you see my quirk, did I not?” he said. You cried out when he tossed your notebook at you which you barely caught.
He smirked, “Wouldn’t it be a privilege to watch one as beautiful as I? You can still take notes if you wish,” he said before approaching. You squeaked when he grasped your chin, guiding your head up to look at him. “As long as you keep those pretty eyes on me.”
He was tempted to lean over and kiss your reddened cheeks but decided against it for now. “Do hurry and gather your things,” he said, turning away from you. “Huh?” You glanced between him and the table with your arms pressed against your chest.
However, when Neito tapped his foot against the floor, you rushed to pick your backpack up. You shoved the notebook inside and threw the strap over your shoulder. You followed him out of the library with your hands curled into the bottom of your shirt and your eyes focused on the floor. You felt pathetic following him like a lost puppy.
You lifted your head only to focus it back on the floor when you passed another student in the hallway. You latched onto your bottom lip again wondering why you agreed to this. You cried out when you stumbled into Neito, who you hadn’t realized had stopped walking.
Your eyes widened when you realized you were now pressed against his back. You looked up, groaning when Neito looked at you from over his shoulder. Once again that rush of heat coursed through your cheeks and you immediately backed away, folded your hands in front of you, and bowed.
You would say sorry, but you could only imagine the ridicule that would get you. He chuckled, “Oh dear, Y/n I do enjoy you bowing although if you bowed at my feet that would be more satisfying.” You knit your eyebrows.
Yeah…there was definitely something wrong with Neito. You slowly leaned back up, feeling the heat cool and your cheeks return to normal. “Um…” you frowned and looked around, noticing that you were now standing in front of the Class-1A door. What were you doing in the hero department?
Neito noticed the confused look on your face and chuckled again. “I will be right back,” he stated, walking up to the door before knocking. You drew your bottom lip into your mouth, slightly concerned when you heard a grouchy and raspy voice respond, “Come in.”
Neito turned to look at you again before entering the room. You were slightly nervous and wondered what he could be doing but tried not to lose yourself in anxiety. You closed your eyes as you leaned against the row of lockers and took a deep breath.
You ran through the different scenarios that could happen when Neito finally showed you his quirk. You had never seen any of the hero students' training sessions and it was impossible to tell if they had mastered their quirks or were still rough around the edges.
Although Neito seemed confident enough that even if he was still training his quirk, he’d find some excuse to act as though it were superior to everyone else. You took a deep breath and sighed as you placed one foot against one of the lockers behind you.
In a way, you envied him. If you had a fraction of his self-confidence, maybe you wouldn’t be so awkward. Then again, Neito seemed to like you for some odd reason. Or at least that's what you could gather from his flirtation and insistence on being a part of your project.
What did he see in you? Obviously, something you couldn’t. You looked up when the door opened, and Neito proudly stepped out with a large grin across his face. Your eyes widened, and your stomach twisted into knots just thinking about the various reasons why that smile was on his face.
“Ah, dear Y/n, I’m quite happy to see that you are still here. I would say sorry for making you wait but you’ll soon find out that the wait was worth it,” he declared, once again showing his confidence as well as stubborn nature. You frowned, glancing away from him.
You folded your hands against your chest and felt your lips tremble before parting them. “Wh-” The question faded along with your courage and Neito’s eyes widened, surprised that you had even attempted to talk to him.
He stepped closer, making your heart race. Out of instinct, you tried to step back only to remember you were leaning against the lockers. He placed his hands behind his back, smiling at you like a happy predator eager to bite into its prey.
“How adorable, are you trying to ask why?” he questioned before patting you on the head, making you squeak involuntarily, and your cheeks turn rosy. “Um…” you swallowed hard, looking away from him although that didn’t tame your embarrassment.
With some regret you nodded, making Neito’s grin heighten. He extended the hand he had just used to pat your head out in front of you. “Take my hand,” he said, “and I’ll show you the answer.” Your heart pounded so hard it echoed in your ears. Why was he of all people offering you his hand?
“Mm…” you latched onto your bottom lip and laid your hand in his. Possessively, he curled his fingers around your hand and that was concerning. So was the way he pulled you down the hallway and toward Ground Gamma.
This was an unfamiliar experience for you given that general studies students weren’t permitted on training grounds reserved for hero or support department students. You tried pulling your hand away from Neito's, afraid of standing where you were not permitted to.
Unfortunately, his grip was like iron, and it was highly unlikely that you’d break free. The sound of your footsteps echoed through Ground Gamma. You looked down, realizing that the floor was made of metal and that the rest of the area was open.
Why did the hero students train here? You hadn’t realized you were still holding Neito’s hand when he stopped in the middle of the training ground until he tightened his grip which caused you to snap back to reality.
“Yes, I know it’s quite memorizing here, isn't it?” he replied, once again smiling at you. “Oh u-um…” you tried to speak but nodded your head like before. “Oh, I’m so glad you agree!” he declared, letting go of your hand before spinning around.
The sound of his laughter bounced off the walls, creating an eerie effect that made you tremble. But it ended just as quickly as it started, and he turned to look at you. “Now, I promised you a demonstration of my quirk. But I’d like you to use yours on me first.”
Your eyes widened at his request. “W-what?” you replied before clasping your hands over your mouth, realizing that was the first actual word you had spoken around him. His expression dropped and instead, a look of curiosity enveloped his face, followed by a smirk.
“My, am I breaking through that shell of yours already?” he said, pressing a triumphant hand against his chest. “Well, what more could one expect from someone as amazing as I?” he said. Seriously, where did all his confidence come from?
“Now then, I requested that you use your quirk on me, and don’t worry about any consequences. Mr. Aizawa has granted us both permission to be here,” he said, before spreading his arms out. “Don’t hold back,” he instructed.
While you weren’t sure how truthful he was being, you were reminded that your project depended on this interaction. You frowned, hesitant to go through with it but Neito would more than likely keep persisting until you were driven nuts.
Although you already knew you'd hold back, when you tried to use your quirk, you couldn’t. “Huh?” Your eyes widened and you looked at your hands, startled that something was wrong with your body. However, you lifted your head when you heard Neito laugh.
You trembled when you saw that his eyes were now glowing yellow, and his hair was floating upward as if gravity itself had broken. “See!?” he said with a smirk as he pointed at himself. “This is my quirk, isn’t it marvelous!?” he declared.
“Erasure is quite amazing and all I had to do was touch Mr. Aizawa to copy his quirk,” he explained and took pride in your mesmerized look. It was rather adorable to see those eyes widen as you took him in, and those adorable lips fall open.
“I’m flattered you’re so amazed,” he stated before his hair fell flat against his head again. “Heh…” you glanced down, trying to fight the blush dusting your cheeks a perfect rosy red. You should really be writing all this down, you swallowed and hesitantly slipped your bag off your shoulders.
Unzipping it, you took your notebook out. You lowered yourself onto the cool metal floor and scribbled down a few notes. Of course, Neito didn’t like that you weren’t paying attention to him and crossed his arms in a huff. “Y/n,” he said but got no response from you and leaned over, waving his hand in front of your face.
“Are you listening to me? While I’m happy to see that you are writing about my marvelous quirk, I do require your attention,” he stated, making you pause and look at him. “Finally,” he commented, crossing his arms, and looking displeased.
“Um…” you opened your mouth to speak but shake your head, too embarrassed to ask him personal questions yet. But this was your project and you needed to ask him about his quirk. Just one little thing! It wouldn’t kill you, would it!?
“Y-your…q…q-quirk…” you managed to say and watched his eyes light up as if hearing your voice was the sweetest melody and he was so proud that you spoke up! “L…l-limitations?” Your heart beat so fast and your face felt on fire.
He blinked in response, and the silence between you was suffocating. Your hands clenched around your notebook. Had you said the wrong thing? Damn it. You looked down as if staring at the floor would be beneficial but looked back up when Neito knelt in front of you.
“Oh, dear, Y/n. Do you truly believe my quirk has limitations?” he asked once again making your stomach twist. “I…e-every quirk…” Your words trailed off, fading into the air causing him to frown. “I suppose every hero has their weaknesses,” he said with a grumble.
“I’m afraid that I’m limited to holding four quirks at once and can only use them for a limited amount of time,” he'd go into detail but didn’t feel like it was the time and hated talking about his weaknesses. It reminded him of the reason why he wanted to become a hero in the first place.
To prove them wrong. To prove he could be someone and while he loved the idea of fame and fortune, in this moment, all he cared about was having your attention. He seemed to have chipped away at your hard shell, even if only slightly today.
Perhaps he shouldn’t push his luck further. “Well do have fun writing down what you experienced here today. I look forward to seeing you tomorrow,” he said, walking past you. “Hm!?” you turned on the floor, watching him walk away in a panic.
Should you stay where you were? What if you couldn’t find your way back? You latched onto your lip, wanting to tell him to stop but not having the courage to. You jolted up and ran toward him, not entirely thinking about what consequences it would bring.
He paused and turned around when he heard your frantic steps and for a moment, grew concerned when he saw you running to him. He involuntarily shouted when you tripped over something, which almost seemed impossible given the structure of Ground Gamma.
But perhaps you tripped over your own feet in your frantic hurry. Either way, the feeling of your body colliding with his was blissful and though he tried his hardest to stop you from both falling, he found this to be impossible. Instead, he wrapped his arms around you out of instinct and took the brunt of the impact when you fell to the floor.
You felt his body tremble underneath yours and opened your eyes to realize that you cradled against his chest which caused your face to turn red. You placed your hands against his chest and pushed yourself up, feeling him grunt in reply.
“S-sorry!” you squeaked out before looking for your notebook which was lying on the ground a little way from where you and Neito were. You looked back, seeing him open his eyes only to find that you were now sitting on top of him.
Silence filled the space between you. He raised one hand out to you only to flinch when a raspy, tired voice filled the air. “Alright, Ground Gamma is closed,” Shota announced as irritated as ever before he lifted his head and stopped suddenly.
He blinked, concerned about why Neito was lying on the floor and you on top of him, but judging by those two sets of wide eyes looking back at him, he might have walked in on something that happened at the wrong time and in the wrong place.
“Mr. Aizawa!” Neito said immediately sitting up and causing you to fall back again. This caused him to grab onto your wrist to prevent you from hitting the floor. You grasped his hand and steadied yourself. Your cheeks burned and you felt slightly faint.
‘Damn it! Why do I get into these situations!?’ You frantically got up, deciding that saying nothing and running away was a better option than explaining yourself. “Y/n?” Neito asked, his voice quiet as he watched you grab your notebook before running past Shota.
Yeah, you said earlier that you were worried you wouldn’t be able to find your way back, but maybe getting lost wouldn’t be so terrible. You clenched your notebook against your chest as you ran. Your thoughts were a jumbled mess.
However, you could always write down everything you learned about Neito later today and maybe even write down some questions you wanted to ask him. There had to be more limitations to his quirk, and there had to be a reason why he wanted to become a hero.
It wasn’t because he was stuck up or thought he was better than everyone else even though he portrayed himself that way. But when you tripped, the way he wrapped his arms around you to keep you safe said something about him. He had a genuine care for keeping others safe.
Maybe he'd even take the brunt of any injury if it meant others remained unharmed. But isn’t that what heroes are supposed to do!? If that were true then why did that moment, that single moment change your perspective on Neito? Was he truly an arrogant man or was there more to him than meets the eye?

Time off
Netio monoma x Reader
A gift for @lovelybrooke
Summary: it was a day off and Neito couldn't wait to spend some time with you
A/n: I wanted to make a fluff one-shot of this duo cause OML NEITO AND READER's RELATIONSHIP IS SO ADORABLE
Disclaimer: This concept and idea IS NOT MINE the forgotten reader au belongs to @lovelybrooke please give them support and love they deserve!
Tw: puking and violence
Divder by @sisterlucifergraphics (please support them for their divders)
"Im almost ready!" Neito was standing in front of your dorm patiently as you were getting dressed, Neito planned this day off a week before he got tickets to the carnival won lots of prizes for you, and maybe even went into the tunnel of love with you.. and a movie night at your dorm and an amazing sleepover to end the amazing day he fantasized how adorable your face would look when he gives you the prizes praising him for his amazing skills and how he'll win all the tickets to get that f/c character you want it makes he face turn red and his pride grow
He couldn't wait any longer. Just as he was about to knock impatiently, the door swung open, revealing you in your out clothes (you can imagine what you wanna wear for this outing). "So what do you think? Do I look ok?" Neito's eyes were beaming seeing you in such an amazing fashion. "You look dazzling, my dear!" He wanted to say, but he snapped out of it. "You look Decent at best, I guess." You playfully rolled your eyes and punched him on the shoulder for the comment, "Oh, c'mon, I worked hard on this!" As the two of you playfully chuckled a green-haired boy was watching you from afar and decided to walk up to the two.
"Oh y/n aren't you dressed nice!" The mood shifted as you heard your classmate Izuku Midoriya say, "Thanks.." you avoided his gaze and clutched your arm, feeling uncomfortable. "Where are you two heading?" "Somewhere where you are NOT invited," Neito smirked wickedly; Izuku's eye twitched a bit and plastered a smile on his face. "Oh ok, have fun, you two!" As the two of you passed by him you felt him staring at the two of you
Ignoring the creepy encounter the two of you went on your marry way out of the building
"Woah look at all the rides!" You couldn't stop staring at all the wonderful rides as Neito talked with the staff. It felt childish, but you wanted to ride all the wonderful rides! Especially the roller coaster! "Come on now why stand and wait when you could be having fun?" He grabbed your hand and escorted you inside. "Ooooo, what should we ride 1st? Maybe this one or that one or THIS ONE!" Neito Chuckled at your excitement it made his chest swell with pride and his heart warm when he saw you like this
Something about you expressing your emotions comfortably without showing any fear or embarrassment makes him want to cherish and protect you to be your handsome knight and shining armor it's cringe yes but it still made him feel giddy inside "Now let's slow down Now we all the time so let's go on a slow ride 1s-" "I wanna go on this one!" Nieto's heart dropped when he saw the big roller coaster with a huge drop. "A-are you sure? We could always go on the spinning teacup ride" you huffed "Fine but after this, we're going on the roller coaster next" You playfully punch his arm as the two of you walk towards the teacups
As the ride began, the teacup started spinning slowly. You groaned at how slow the pace was, it was silence at 1st until you said, "fuck it," and grabbed the wheel in the middle and started to spin it faster. "Hey, don't spin it fast!" He grabbed ahold of the wheel making it stop, you giggled again as you started rotating it making it go faster again "Stop this at once" you giggled mischievously not listening to his protest neito was tryna be serious if he wasn't trying to hold back his laughter
The two of you grab, twist, and turn on the poor wheel making the giant cup you were in shake aggressively, as bystanders began to watch and start recording and some were even chuckling, the two of you were now laughing and making it spin faster seeing how much the limit it goes until you felt something underneath you snap and the cup flew out the ride and landed on the ground the two of you froze slowly peaking out to see that your cup was on the dirt ground... the two you giggled nervously and apologized to the worker who operated it luckily the worker informed them that the teacup was unstable to ride and knew it was gonna happened so, fortunately, the two of you got off easily without having to pay for damages
"Man, I still feel bad..." Neito agreed as you both whined together in your guilt. You spotted a Hello Kitty merry-go-round with popular characters like Hello Kitty, Cinnamon Roll, Star Twins, and more characters that were recognizable. "Let's go on that one!" "Ha!? That baby ride, you will never catch me on there." An offended gasp came out of you as you looked at the blonde with "disgust." "It's not a baby ride take that back!" He rolled his eyes at your protest "Or unless you wanna go on the roller coaster-" "Baby ride it is" he grabbed your hand and speeded towards the incredibly long line but he didn't care it was better than that death trap of a ride
As you waited for the line to go up some more a woman with her child cut in front of the 2 of you, you sighed knowing this type of shit would happen but you decided to suck it up, neito, on the other hand, was glaring at the woman you noticed this and knew shit was about to go down "Excuse me!" The woman scoffed and turned around, obviously irritated. "You cut between me and my darling over here, and I would like to ask you to get in the back of the line" You were flabbergasted shaking his arm telling him it was ok and not to worry about it but he didn't back down
"No, I waited 30 minutes for the ride, and this rude brute decided to cut us with her poor child!" "Excuse me? It's just a line, plus my son is dying to go on this ride. It doesn't hurt for me to cut in line!" As the two were spewing insults at each other where you were comforting the poor crying child, one of the workers overheard this and ran to the scene. "Excuse me, but you 2 are causing a disturbance. What is going on?" "This boy is being a pest and harassed me!" "Oh, don't you lie, you pig? You cut in line and started getting angry even when I politely told her to go to the back of the line!"
As the two argued, the little boy finally spoke up, "Mommy, can't we just go to the back? I want all the yelling to stop!" Everyone paused and turned to the boy "Well ma'am do you have anything to say about that?" the mom's face flushed in embarrassment as she grabbed her child and went to the back of the line the boy waved at the 2 of you as you waved back "Well that went well taught her right!" You narrowed your eyes at him
"I'm gonna ride on Kuromi!" You happily hopped on the character's back while Neito went on the seat beside which was my melody the ride started as the music began to play you enjoyed how soothing the ride was, you were smiling the whole time, Neito decided to take the opportunity to grab your free hand while your other hand was holding the pole you looked up at him as he avoided your gaze you smiled softly as the two of you spun around for a few minutes until the ride came to the stop the two of you were bummed about how fast the ride was
As you got off, you heard the announcement, "Greetings everyone, for now, it is now 3 PM. The roller coaster will close in 20 mins!" "fuck I forgot about the coaster!" You quickly grabbed Nieto's hand and rushed past a bunch of people apologizing along the way Neito, on the other hand, was shaking a bit but wasn't noticed by you, as you made it with 15 minutes left you quickly got into the front of the line luckily there was barely any people around you quickly got on the rocket-like coaster with a couple of other people you decided to sit in the middle Neito didn't talk the whole time and looked..nervous? The ride began to start
"Hey, Neito, are you ok?" He was startled when you touched him "N-Nothing! I mean nothing at all, don't worry about me." You noticed how he was sweating bullets and gripping the handles in front of him tight. His fear intensely grew as the ride climbed slowly to the top as if it was taunting him. You gently grabbed his hand "Neito, are you scared of roller coasters?" Neito didn't respond to his question he didn't wanna think he was some weak, pathetic fool who was easily scared of a carnival ride
"Neito it's ok if you are I'm not gonna judge I will never" Nieto's gaze softened knowing that you weren't disgusted or scowling but a genuine look knowing that even if he was in a vulnerable state you didn't judge him one bit so he finally nodded a bit ashamed of yourself "Oh neito I'm so sorry I should've toOLDDDD MEEEEE" as you were about to apologize you didn't realized that you were diving in the roller coaster in full speed Neito unleashed a girly screamed as he clutched onto you for dear life as you did the same screaming each other's ears off whike neito was flowing with tears
...
"Let it all out Neito in and out.." you gently patted his back as he started puking his whole breakfast on the ground and coughing as the two of you were getting off the roller coaster neito quickly ran off not caring if he bumped into people into the bathrooms, as you quickly followed right behind him apologizing on his behalf, "you feeling better?" You handed him a wipe from your bag. He grabbed it quickly, wiping away the tears and puke. "Let's go somewhere to rest, ok?" You carefully guided him to a table with seats
As the two of you sat down, there was an awkward silence at 1st until Neito spoke up, "Listen, y/n, I'm sorry-" "What do you mean you're sorry? I should be the one saying that! I shouldn't have noticed that you were afraid...but I was just too selfish to notice." Neito was a token back at your words, you? Selfish? "You weren't selfish, y/n" "But I was! I-" "You. Arent," he said in a serious tone which made you stop talking and listen, he took a deep breath "You aren't ever the selfish heck I'm more even selfish than you at times Yeah you had your times but I don't ever want to hear that out your mouth you're the nicest person I've ever met you gave me patience you would stop me whenever I want to say something mean to your egotistic trash of your classmates even tho they deserve it at times you're better then them y/n and I guess..better than me....sometimes" (I'm not good with heartstring speeches sorry if it sounds cringe 😭)
Your eyes started to water with tears as Neito held you by the shoulders. You hugged him tightly. How could you deserve a life like this and a friend like him? The two of you stood there and hugged for a long time. "Now, about we keep this a secret and enjoy the rest of our time. I still need to prove how amazing I am at carnival games" he smiled proudly you chuckled as the two of you went off but this time the two of you were holding hands and tangling each other's fingers up so you wouldn't let go
As you walked through the game area, you were eyeing the big prizes. None of them interested you until you saw your favorite character as a plushie. You tugged his hand as you pointed at the big prize under the water shooter game. "I need to add that to my collection!" This was when Neito's pride began to swell up once again seeing this as an opportunity to show how much of a great boyfriend and best friend he could be so he proudly walked over there slamming down the money which made the male worker jump a bit "I want 8 tries please" the tried worker rolled his eyes as he gave the teen the water gun
"All you need to do is shoot 6 big hippos and you win a big prize," he said with fake enthusiasm you cheered him on as he focused on his shot as the hippos flew into the air neito spotted 3 Big hippos and blasted them with no struggle he made sure to dodge the dragons but accidentally hit one while hitting the 4th hippo "damnit only 2 shots.." Neito was sweating. He didn't want to lose, especially in front of you! he saw the 5th one making a turn as he shot that too the final hippo was in a tricky spot it was surrounded by dragons circling the big hippo Neito focused carefully on calculating a perfect shot you were dramatically cheering him on he decided to do a trick shot and he...hit the hippo
You happily cheered as the tried worker handed him the plush "I think this belongs to you dear" You hugged the plushie tight thanking him over and over again and also embracing him with the hug, as the 2 of you searched for more prizes you want you saw a beautiful toy crowd and decided to win it for him as a thank you gift! "I wanna try that one!" You pointed at the dunking table game, and you placed down the money as the woman gave you 3 baseballs, you were excited you never played these dunking games before only saw them on TV
The Teen clown spotted you and Neito together and smirked. "My, what a pretty little thing you are ?" Neito was now narrowing his eyes at the dude and was holding your hand possessively You rolled your eyes as you tried to get a good aim you threw the ball but it missed the target "So what a weak throw pretty one~" you groaned getting another baseball but Neito snatched it and threw it a bit too close towards the teen he yelped in surprise as he laughed trying to hide his nervousness as he saw the blonde glared at him he cleared his throat and begin again "wow! Someone's pissed?" The clown chuckled while you were busy calculating you threw the ball directly at the target making the platform fall with the clown as he was dunked in the water
"Congratulations!" You were handed a plastic toy crown with seemingly real jewels covering it you placed it on Neito's head making him blush a bit "Heh that crown fits you" Neito started in the mirror for a bit looking all proud and posing while you rolled your eyes
As the sun was setting you were talking to Neito in your language until he saw a Ferris wheel with a sly grin he turned towards you and asked if you would like to ride the Ferris wheel, Ferris wheels aren't your type of ride but you accepted since he seemed to be happily smiling which all you cared for as the two
As the two of you took your seats in a red passenger Neito insisted that you and he should sit on the same side rather than on opposite ends but you didn't complain you watched as the ground grew smaller and smaller and sunset was more visible you were amazed how pretty the sunset up close you didn't expect to look like those photoshop sunsets but here you are staring at a most beautiful sunset of all not noticing that Neito sneakily put his around his shoulder and scoot close to you as he leaned his head close to yours it felt...nice the whole day was crazy but you had fun and that was enough for you
As the passenger slowly lowered himself onto the ground, the two of you walked out of the booth holding your prizes. "That was so much fun!' "I couldn't agree more.." As you exit the carnival the night is dark and quiet the stars glowing into the darkness you then see a shooting star and both make a wish
Timeskip (sorry)
Once you made it to the dorms you assumed everyone was dead asleep considering it was 8 pm so movie night was still available until you saw Bakugo and his gang all laughing and chattering happily not noticing they were walking towards you Neito held your hand tight signaling that he wouldn't let them get close to you as you walked closer towards the group it became silent, you avoided their gaze as they whisper stuff to each other and started glaring at you well mostly at Neito as he had a proud smug smile all you could hear was a single "tch" as he and his friends went completely passed towards you without saying a single insult at you which was weird..? But you brush it off thinking they were too tired to do all that
"I don't think I wanna do it in here.. can we watch a movie at your dorm?" You nodded, agreeing that the encounter just ruined the whole mood, so you quickly headed toward your room until, low and behold, the class rep was in front of your dorm. You mentally groaned. Why couldn't people just leave you alone? "And where do you think you're heading?" Neito scoffed, not amused at the four eyes. "We're going to my dorm. We're just having a movie night.." you pray that he doesn't start his shit again and just let you go "Yes and while you excuse us we will be heading towards there 1a Pest" you elbowed Nieto's waist as Iida glared at the pretentious blond
"Y/n you shouldn't be" "It's fine Iida I promise we won't do anything we're just gonna watch a movie" Iida was about to protest more until Neito quickly pushed you into your room following him behind "Yes yes and we are very late goodbye" as he slammed the door in Iida's face leaving him speechless and in defeat "God finally so what movie are we gonna watch?" You scrolled through the TV with millions of movie choices and saw your favorite one
"what about (movie choice)?" Neito nodded as you turned on the TV and cuddled with your new favorite plushie until an hour later the two of you were knocked out in your jammies (don't question how they changed just imagine they before watching the movie)

Hidden Rivalry, Hidden Love
Characters:
Neito Monoma (Class 1-B)
(Y/N) (Class 1-A, Reader Insert)
Trigger Warnings:
Mild swearing
Slight tension from combat (training match)
Masterlist
Words: 1071
---
Training Grounds, U.A. High School
The sun blazed overhead as the students of Class 1-A and 1-B gathered for joint training exercises. You adjusted your gloves, eyes narrowing as the pro hero Aizawa listed off the match-ups.
"And finally… (Y/N) from Class 1-A versus Monoma from Class 1-B."
The usual murmur followed—people whispering about Monoma’s tendency to run his mouth. You ignored the commentary. Monoma had always been annoying, but that was only half the story. No one knew that after hours, when the dust settled and no one was watching, the two of you weren’t rivals. You were something much more complicated.
Your heart skipped a beat when Monoma shot you his signature smirk, full of arrogance.
"Ah, (Y/N)," he called across the training field. "How delightful it will be to humiliate you in front of your entire class."
You grinned, meeting his gaze. "You wish."
Monoma’s act was as flawless as always. No one could tell that just last night, you had been curled up on his dorm room couch, sharing popcorn and watching movies until you both fell asleep. But now? Now he was your opponent.
And neither of you planned to hold back.
---
As soon as the match started, Monoma rushed toward you, his hand reaching out to copy your Quirk. You dodged to the side, barely avoiding his grasp, and retaliated with a blast of your ability. Monoma twisted mid-air, landing gracefully.
"Fast as always, (Y/N)," he said, brushing imaginary dust off his uniform. "But not fast enough."
Before you could react, he lunged again—and this time, his hand brushed your shoulder. The familiar, sinking feeling hit you. He had copied your Quirk.
"Got you," he whispered, a gleam of triumph in his eyes.
You clenched your fists. "Don't think this gives you the upper hand, Monoma."
For the next several minutes, the two of you fought like you meant every insult you’d ever thrown at each other. Sparks flew, attacks collided, and your classmates cheered and gasped from the sidelines. Your bodies danced across the training ground, neither willing to back down, both pushing harder than you probably should have.
Finally, you managed to catch Monoma off guard with a clever feint, knocking him off balance and pinning him to the ground. He grunted, your weight pressing him down.
"You lose," you whispered breathlessly, smirking down at him.
Monoma grinned back, something softer flickering behind his usual cockiness. "Only this round."
---
By the time training ended, both of you were exhausted but pleased. You couldn’t help but exchange a lingering glance, though no one seemed to notice.
Once everyone dispersed, you snuck out of the changing room, meeting Monoma by the edge of the school grounds where the trees gave some cover. He stood there, hands in his pockets, wearing the same smug expression as earlier—only now, there was a glint of warmth in his eyes that no one else ever saw.
"You almost had me back there," he said as you approached.
You rolled your eyes. "Almost? I pinned you, Monoma."
He stepped closer, tilting his head in mock thought. "I let you."
You laughed, lightly punching his shoulder. "Sure you did."
Monoma caught your hand before you could pull it back, his grip warm and familiar. For a moment, the two of you just stood there, the world around you fading into the background.
"Come on," he said, intertwining his fingers with yours. "We’ve got a date, remember?"
---
Monoma led you to a small café tucked away in a quiet corner of town. It was one of your favorite places—a secret spot where no one from school ever came. The barista gave you a knowing smile as you both ordered, used to seeing the two of you together.
The moment you slid into a booth, Monoma’s theatrics melted away. His smug facade gave way to something gentler, the side of him no one else got to see. He sipped his coffee, glancing at you over the rim of his cup.
"So," he said casually, "do you feel good about beating me in front of your class?"
You smirked. "Very."
Monoma chuckled, leaning back in his seat. "I’ll let you have this one, but next time…" He trailed off, his smile softening. "You know I won’t go easy on you."
"I wouldn’t expect you to."
For a while, the two of you sat in comfortable silence, the hum of the café filling the space between you. It was moments like this—away from the chaos of school, training, and expectations—that made everything worth it.
Monoma reached across the table, brushing a stray lock of hair from your face. "You know," he murmured, "you’re the only one I’d ever let pin me down like that."
You raised an eyebrow, a playful smile tugging at your lips. "Oh? Should I start keeping score?"
He laughed, a sound that was rare and genuine. "Maybe."
The rest of the date passed in a blur of laughter, teasing, and the kind of easy affection that came from knowing someone inside and out.
---
By the time you returned to campus, the sun had dipped below the horizon, casting long shadows across the grounds. Monoma walked you back to your dorm, the usual smirk back on his face.
"Same time next week?" he asked, hands in his pockets as he leaned casually against the doorframe.
You nodded. "Unless we get paired up for another match before then."
Monoma grinned, leaning in just close enough to whisper, "Looking forward to it."
This time, though, instead of turning away, he hesitated.
"Actually," he said, voice quieter, "there’s one thing I’ve been meaning to do."
Before you could ask what he meant, Monoma leaned in and pressed his lips to yours.
The kiss was soft—unexpectedly so—and you felt a flutter in your chest as warmth spread through you. For all his smugness and arrogance, the kiss was gentle, almost nervous, as if this moment had been building between you for far too long.
When he finally pulled back, his face was flushed, but that familiar, playful glint still danced in his eyes.
"There," he whispered. "Now you’re really winning."
You smiled, your heart racing. "About time, Monoma."
He grinned and gave your hand a quick squeeze before finally turning away, leaving you standing in the doorway, a goofy smile stuck on your face.
---
Author’s Note: Thank you for reading! I had a lot of fun writing this playful dynamic between Monoma and the reader. I always thought Monoma’s cocky persona hides a more thoughtful, caring side, and this story gave me the chance to explore that. If you enjoyed it, feel free to leave feedback! I’d love to know what you think about their first kiss and their secret relationship!

🌶️Spicy Sweetheart 🌶️
My readers probably: Σ(っ °Д °;)っ IT'S ALL FOOD RELATED!
Me, who just got chili oil for the first time: fuck yeah it is.
Fem-Reader/GN-Reader x Monoma Neito
------------------------------------------------------------------------------
<-{🌶️🚫}->
You had just bought a small jar of mild spice chili oil from the nearby grocery store. Crunchy garlic in chili oil. In all reality, you wanted to start from where people normally start, and not at the high-spice chili oil you had last week when you tried out the new Vietnamese pho place's chili oil in your noodles.
Nightmarish. But delicious. You cried a little bit back then, but you kept eating despite the fact you were actively dabbing at your eyes with a paper napkin, a fond memory.
Now, with a salad in front and a spoonful of chili oil in hand, you used the entire spoon, stabbed a drenched sugar pea with your fork, and just took a bite.
It was...
It was..!
It was the most disappointingly mild thing you've tasted in terms of spice that you expected. The spice wasn't even there. They weren't kidding about the abundance of flavor, though, so that was nice.
"What're you eating there, little muse?" Asked quite a familiar, obviously distinctive voice. Monoma, you had recognized that prideful tone laced with sarcasm a long time ago.
You turned to look at him, swallowing the veggie in your mouth before you responded after a moment of staring.
"Nothing much, really. Just a salad with some mild chili oil I just bought. Wanna try some?"
You offered a bite of your salad with the fork you just used; the leafy greens on it having gained a bright orange tint from the chili oil you just used.
Monoma hesitated, since it looked a bit intimidating from the vibrant orange-red tint, but you said it was mild and he trusted you enough to be a bit adventurous.
He took a bite, seemingly waiting for the spice to hit as he scrunched his face up...
"It's supposed to hit the moment it's in your mouth."
"Oh."
He watched as you pulled the fork back, chewing on the bit of salad in his mouth. Sweet-salty fried garlic, richness of good quality oil, flavors from a variety of the other herbs, and the barest touch of spice that almost immediately disappeared after it touched his tongue.
"Huh. I thought it'd actually be spicier. You like that kind of stuff." He shrugged a bit after swallowing, a bit confused since he genuinely thought it'd be spicier.
"Yeah, but it's good, isn't it?"
"Yep."
You offered another bite which he readily accepted before seeing the grin on your face, prompting yet another one of confusion on his own.
"I got two indirect kisses today, hahaha!"
The realization came onto his face at that before he pouted and was about to talk, though he didn't want to make a mess of the place, so he swallowed before speaking.
"How dare you! However, it was just as I expected, 1-A members are too cowardly to directly ask for a kiss!"
He was making a fuss over having two indirect kissed being taken directly under his nose. You could tell by the way he pouted.
However, to lump you in with the rest of your classmates even though he had mostly gotten over his rivalry already and was at the possibility of regressing?
You stood up and grabbed him by the shoulders, defiance rising in you as you looked at him directly in the eyes.
"Can I kiss you?"
He sputtered at the sudden close contact with you, his eyes frantically darting about for an escape route.
"I- I- ah! I, um, uh-!"
Then, someone walked in, distracting you moments before he fled out the door. You huffed out of disappointment and shot a glare at poor Ojiro who, in all honesty, didn't really do anything wrong in the first place.
<-{🌶️🔥}->
Around a few days later, you finished the mild-spice chili crisp with some of your classmates and got the high-spice one. It fit your tastes perfectly, tingly enough for you to want water but fading quickly enough for your you to not need it anyways.
It was perfect for what you needed, though.
You were eating it with some ramen you had gotten from Lunch Rush earlier for dinner. Just as you expected, Monoma came by.
"You won't trap me this time, and you won't sneak some indirect kisses from me this time! I brought my own fork."
He was a bit miffed from what happened earlier in the week, which was why he took the liberty to take out the fork he brought, one of the fancy silverware ones, and took some of your ramen.
Of course, he thought you were still using the mild spice chili crisp oil. What a fool.
His face- no, the entirety of his body froze up as you could visibly see his face getting redder, and tears gathering in his eyes as he chewed and swallowed.
Then, right in front of him, as payback for running off before...
...you drank the rest of your water right in front of him.
His eyes widened in anger and frustration, since he knew that he couldn't open his mouth lest he want the spice on his tongue to be irritated even more. He settled on stomping the floor and pointing at you instead.
"Don't worry, I have another way of getting rid of that spice, Monoma. just promise not to bite me, okay?"
He nodded frantically, since his nostrils were about to clog up and tears ran down his face. He didn't want to look so unsightly in front of you for some odd reason, even though you were fine with it.
You stood up from your chair and cupped his face, and since his eyes were squinted shut, he didn't see what you were going to do until it was too late.
Your lips crashed against his, your tongue prying his own open as it 'fought' against his own tongue. He started to melt into your touch, leaning against you as he kissed back somewhat before you both separated, having only a thin, wispy thread of saliva between his lips and yours.
"It's all better now, isn't it?"
Monoma nodded without saying anything, the redness on his face less because of the spice that disappeared and more because of the sheer amount of fluster he was experiencing.
"I'll take that as a yes. You know, you're really cute, Mono-chan."
The casual way you said it made him groan as he buried his face into your shoulder, though nobody walked in this time to interrupt the moment.
<-{🌶️❤️🔥}->
He eventually grew tolerant to the spicy foods you often ate and the way you weren't shy about giving him affection, but he still blushed when you kissed him in public or let him copy your Quirk so intimately.
Such an adorable boy...
And he was all yours.

Fluffmas day 8: Secret Santa w/Monoma Neito
Word count: 2.1k, Gender-neutral reader
Due to Christmas coming up and most of 1-B taking the festivities up a notch, they decided to play the game of secret Santa. This involved putting all of their names in a hat and scrambling to pick one out.
You had gotten Reiko, a pretty simple choice as you knew her quite well, however what you didn't know is that a certain snarky blonde had gotten your name. The only person he had the tiniest bit of info about.
“How would I know what they like?!” He flops dramatically onto his dorm bed with a sigh. Kendo rolls her eyes. “Just get them something generic doofus. They’re really nice, I'm sure they wouldn't mind.” She scrolls through her phone absentmindedly, looking through gift options for her person.
“I can't just ‘get them something’! I need to actually try and show that I can give gifts better than anyone else!” He huffed, furrowing his brows.
Kendo glances up at him. “Then go talk to them”
Monoma sits up, ready to refute until he thinks about it. That would be the easiest way, wouldn't it? But allll the work of getting to know another person in such a short amount of time honestly felt so agonizing.
He sighed and leaned his head back, “Fiiiine. If i have to” He gets up, sliding on his slippers before heading out of his room, Kendo giving him a curt wave.
He made his way to the 1-B common rooms, glancing around before his eyes landed on your form. You were smiling along with some of the students that were chatting amongst the couches.
With a determined grin, he swaggered over, taking a seat next to you and nudging you. “Hey, Y/N, right?”
You glanced next to you, quirking a brow. “You don't know my name? We’re literally in the same class.”
Monoma was almost caught off guard, replacing it with a snark laugh. “Why of course I do! I know all of my 1-B elites names.”
You chuckled at his use of the word ‘elites’ to reference your peers. The chatter building slightly amongst you two as he tried to keep your attention from the others. It seemed that you were tougher to crack than he thought…
With his limited knowledge of your preferences and interests, this task seemed a little difficult. And so, he came up with a little plan. Over time, he would try to approach you casually, without raising any suspicions, to get to know you more and get an idea of what kind of present you would like. He would also try to casually ask some of your other classmates about what you liked without drawing too much attention.
One day he decided to walk with you to the dorms after school, walking beside you as your feet hit the pavement.
“So, y/n, getting anything special for Christmas this year? Perhaps jewelry or new clothing?” You could tell he was onto something, deciding to act along.
“Hm maybe. Not too sure. I'm not really a material person you know?” You glanced over to him, who had seemed to be in a bit of a tizzy over your answer. ‘Not a material person’? How silly is that? What could he possibly get you if that was the answer.
“I see….”
He started asking you more blunt questions, anything you could answer on a personality quiz. Thankfully that plan seemed to be working so far. Over the past two weeks alone he has been able to gather some important information about you, such as your favorite color, your favorite food, and even some of your favorite activities to do in your free time.
Finally! He could pick out something for you, something simple but also extravagant to the point where you couldn't not love it.
He sat in his dorm room once more with Kendo at the edge of his bed as he paced the room.
“And they even told me their favourite animal! That unlocked so many options!” He dramatically waved his arms at the notion, his infodumping had started ever since he got done talking to you.
Kendo hums in acknowledgement. “And their favourite movie?”
“(f/m)!”
“Restaurant?”
“(f/r), duh”
“Favourite season?”
“(f/s)”
Kendo leaned back a bit, looking at him skeptically. Monoma, noticing her staring, looks at her quizzically. “What's that look for?”
Kendo hops up off of his bed with a sigh. “Why did you need to learn their favourite season?” Monoma shrugs at the question, “I-i mean- you never know! It's like a theme, I could get them something (f/s) themed!”
“Their favourite movie?”
“It's a perfectly reasonable question!” He deflected.
Kendo egged him on, “Restaurant? You plannin’ to take them out or something Mr. Detective?”
She moved her hands to her hips, looking at him expectantly. He stood there gobsmacked, the reality hitting him finally.
He hadn't been asking you questions just for the hell of some class secret santa but rather unconsciously getting to know you personally, deeply. He shakes his head.
“What!? That is completely obtuse coming from you, Kendo!” He crossed his arms before staggering and pointing to the door. “You’re dismissed!”
Kendo snorted a laugh at his grammar use, feigning offense. “Alright alright, sure Loverboy”
That comment seemed to tick him off as he closed the door behind her before groaning and plopping down on his bed with a huff.
’Ping!’ He pulled his phone out of his pocket, examining the text.
It was from you. Asking if you two were still on for hanging out that day at the park. His eyes widened, totally forgetting about it until then. He scrambled a text back absentmindedly before throwing on his jacket and shoes and heading out the door.
He met you at the entrance of the dormitory, in your coat as well. You looked to him with a small grin, “Yo”
He waves smally with his signature grin and high chin. “Hey there, y/n”
The walk to and around the park was mostly silent. Neito was trying to come up with some sort of casual conversation topic to break the silence between you two, he was so focused on trying to think of something to say that he wasn't really focused on where he was walking, accidentally tripping over, falling onto the ground.
—"Ouch!" He exclaimed, a little embarrassed.
You leaned down a bit to where he had fallen, “Monoma!” You hold onto his arm to help leverage him up, squatting beside him as your worried eyes examine him. "Ugh, great, I just had to make a fool of myself in front of you. That's just perfect." He groaned, a bit frustrated as he dusted himself off, trying to hide how much his face was flushing from the action.
Your brows knitted together, concern laced within them. “Are you okay?” God you were just too nice to him.
"Yeah, yeah, I'm fine. Just a little scraped up, but it's nothing serious." Neito would then look up at you, his cheeks turning slightly redder as he looked into your eyes, the sight of your worried expression made his heart flutter.
You nod as he stands, “ ‘Kay, just be careful next time”
As you tell him to be careful, he couldn't help but smirk a bit, a cocky attitude returning. "Oh please, I'm always careful." He says in a confident tone, as he stands up.
You chuckled at his defiant nature and continued walking. Your chatter got better by then, taking jabs at each other and even talking about the holidays. He said his parents had planned a getaway trip for that time of year so he would be staying at the dorms until they got back for the holidays.
“Don't you feel lonely?” You asked, wearily looking at him.
He waves you off, “Pfft i don't have time to. There are much better things I could be doing than wallowing away for no reason.”
You let out a small hum, though noticing the solemn look creep on his face before its replaced with his natural snarky attitude.
There was another moment of silence for a brief moment, but then Neito looked at you again.
"Say— Uhm…"
Neito didn't really know how to ask this without sounding too suspicious, but he knew his curiosity would eat at him if he didn't ask you. "Have you thought about what kind of gift you want for this… Secret Santa thing?"
You shrug. “Not too sure honestly. I don't want the person to get something really pricey or too nice. Something simple you know?”
"I see," He says, nodding his head slightly, a bit of relief in his voice now that it doesn't seem like you're expecting anything too extravagant from your gift. "And… if the person who gets you something wants to get you something expensive or extravagant… would you be upset at that?"
Neito was a little surprised by your answer, he was expecting you to be someone who would be excited to get extravagant gifts, but it seems like you just wanted something meaningful. In a way it made him admire you even more, you were different from most people he knew, it's like the contrast between your personalities only deepened the feelings he had for you.
"Huh… I see. So you're the type of person who prefers the simple things in life, that's… refreshing in a way."
He looked at you, his eyes seeming to lose that sarcastic glint. "You're kind of different from what I expected…" He says in a somewhat soft tone.
He takes a moment to look at your face, a sense of awe in his eyes, he couldn't quite put it into words how much he had grown to like you, he was mesmerized by you.
“…yeah”
~
The week had gone past and finally the class was rounded to open their gifts. Everyone had been opening them with glee, some finding out who theres was and some having a more secretive alternative. As you glance through the mounds of presents, you notice a medium sized box with your name typed out on a sticker.
Guess whoever it was was smart enough to not reveal their handwriting…
What you hadn't noticed yet is Neito looking at you from across the couches as you ripped it open, finding a discreet box. You lift a brow before opening it to find an assortment of items. A small keychain with your favourite animal as the main event, a scarf in your favourite shade of (f/c) and even a bracelet with a multitude of charms on it, showing off your favourite hobbies.
Your eyes widened as you looked further inside, finding a hoodie with one of your favourite music artists on it. You take it out, mouth slightly agape. This thing had to be like sixty dollars on their merch website!
You examined it with wide eyes, feeling the softness of the fabric and the seamless stitching… it was more than you could ask for.
Monoma; having seen your reaction, mentally fistbumped, his grin widening at his success. However, that only lasts for a moment as you look up from the box, your eyes meeting him. You send him a small smile along with a mouthed ‘Thank you’.
He gawks, utterly confused because how on earth did you know it was him?! He watched as you walked over a bit later, sitting next to him. He chuckled sheepishly, “So uh…got some nice gifts there” You hum in agreement, “Yeah, they are pretty cool huh?” You smile, nudging his arm. “I knew it was you from the beginning, by the way.”
His face flushed in embarrassment, “W-what?! It wasn't me!”
You raised your brows, “Oh, then it must have been someone else I told my favourite band to. Ill go find them and thank them then” You grin as you go to get up before his hand is on your wrist, pulling you back down.
“Fine, I got those damned gifts for you..”
A small silence spreads over you as he speaks. “…How’d you know?”
You chuckle, “Dude, it was pretty obvious. You were asking me what I liked right after we pulled names. And i hadn't told anyone else about my fav bands new merch drop..”
He mentally facepalmed, sitting up straighter. “I knew that.”
You chuckle and nod “Mhm, sure”
His prickled demeanor loosened slightly at your observation and suddenly, he was joining in on your chuckle fest, the severity of the situation dying down and the silliness of it all creeping in.
Kendo and Juzo were across the way, staring at the interaction as Juzo handed Kendo twenty bucks.
“Told ya”

omg i need more monoma oneshots literally anything i beg 😪😪😪 plis
[ Okay so! I already had this WIP and it was originally meant to be a Christmas-themed story, but I changed it up a bit. I hope you like it. Writing Neito is always so interesting. ]
The Red String Festival was a yearly event taking place in Tokyo, Japan, and anyone who is anyone attended. It was a festival made to celebrate love and fate and more importantly, to confess the emotions that rained deep within your soul for another.
Cheery music continued to flow through the air, accompanied by the savory, mouthwatering scent from the concession stands. He stood there, dressed in a traditional kimono that was colored black and had a depiction of a yellow dragon on the back of it.
His fingers tightened around the folding fan he held, and his wrist was busy at work, fanning himself harder and harder as he continued to watch you interact with your classmates. His face twisted into a grim expression and a “Pff” left his mouth. Why did fate have to be so cruel to him?
What wrong had he done to deserve this? Why did you have to be separated from him and placed into that barbaric Class A? It was bad enough that they had the nerve to ask Class B to join them at this event. Then again, he had a selfish reason for agreeing to come.
It wasn’t to socialize or bury the hatchet with your classmates. Oh, no, no, no. It was because you were going, and he was planning to have you to himself by the end of the night. Of course, he was expecting this to be a challenge because more than likely Class A would want to keep you to themselves.
But that’s why he asked for help from one special student, someone who would understand and not give him too much lip. He kept his eyes locked on you, feeling his jealousy flourish when Eijirou sat down and began having a conversation with you.
“Are you going to hide all night or actually do something?” Hitoshi asked, crossing his arms. How he got convinced by Neito to tag along with this was beyond him and frankly, he didn’t understand why the fellow male couldn't walk up to you and bluntly tell you how he felt...again. Wait how many times had he confessed to you?
Well, it didn't matter. “Excuse you!” the overdramatic blond replied, snapping his head toward Hitoshi. “How dare you insult my tactics! Dear Y/n cannot be swept off their feet in just any manner,” he declared making the purple-headed boy roll his eyes, but Neito missed this as he was already staring at you again.
“Aren’t they simply marvelous? Surely, they deserve better than to be placed in Class A!” he hissed, practically grinding his teeth together in fury. Hitoshi sighed loudly and pressed two fingers to his forehead, clearly annoyed with the other’s behavior.
“Do you plan to get their attention by continuing to hide?” he questioned flatly, once again causing Neito to snap at him. “Of course, I plan to get their attention, hmp!” He placed one hand on his chest and pointed to you and Eijirou with his other.
“I’ll capture their attention better than that no-good redhead!” he declared making Hitoshi roll his eyes for the second time. “How?” he replied and watched Neito pull something out of his pocket. “With this!” he declared dramatically, watching the other narrow his eyes.
“Is that a…confession ticket?” he asked, and Neito nodded. “As soon as I confess to my dear Y/n, we will exchange a kiss within the confines of the confession tent. Then they will finally see that I am far superior to any so-called hero student in Class A!” he declared with one hand raised in the air and sparkles in his eyes.
Hitoshi chuckled and shook his head, “Haven’t they rejected you more than once?” Neito growled, glaring at him. “You think by confessing to them this time, they’ll suddenly like you back?” He narrowed his eyes and crossed his arms, turning away to stare off into the distance.
He shrugged, “They were too influenced by the other members of Class A at the time,” although he knew he was using that as an excuse. The truth was, just like his copy quirk, he felt like if he simply applied himself, he could accomplish winning your heart over. Even if he had to do it through deceit.
“I...I simply wasn’t trying hard enough, but I plan to change that today,” oh yes, he wasn’t going to give up on you, and what better way to utilize this event than taking advantage of the aspect of kissing and love confessions.
“Uh huh…” Hitoshi replied with a frown, it was hard for him to believe that Neito was for real. “Oh, and you’re going to help me!” the blond suddenly exclaimed, pointing a finger at the now confused male. “I thought I was already helping?” he replied.
“You haven’t helped me yet!” Neito snapped, catching the attention of passersby. Then without warning, he dropped his folding fan to the ground and grasped onto the other's shoulders, pulling him close. “Hey!” he exclaimed in shock, but Neito's raised finger silenced him.
“I need you to ask Y/n to come to confession tent number one,” he instructed, making the other raise his eyebrow. “Confession tent number one?” he repeated, tilting his head to the side. “That’s right,” he answered with a smile. “And you can't ask them yourself because?” the blond sighed at the question.
“If I ask them, they will refuse” he explained with a hand pressed to his chest, and Hitoshi narrowed his eyes. ‘That's not surprising’ he thought. “Besides I personally reserved the tent for the whole night and I'm not leaving until Y/n and I share that kiss,” his words made the other male groan.
How many times was he going to mention that kiss? “Fine,” he responded, brushing past the other. If this got Neito off his back, he’d do it. The blond watched him with a growing smile and took one last moment to admire you before turning and heading to the mentioned tent.
This was going to be great, well if everything went according to plan that is. “Yeah, I guess so. This festival is kind of fun an-” you paused when footsteps approached and turned to see none other than Hitoshi Shinso. You knitted your eyebrows together, wondering what he could possibly want. Not that you had anything against him!
You knew that he was currently a General Studies student and was trying his hardest to transfer into the Department of Heroes. “Oh, hey man!” Eijirou greeted him cheerfully. “Mm…” Hitoshi replied, looking as bored as ever. However, that’s not what bothered you.
Rather it was the way he looked at you, plus how he drew his bottom lip into his mouth. Was he nervous about something? He opened his mouth to speak but quickly closed it as if he didn’t know what he wanted to say, which only raised your suspicions that much more.
“Um…” you glanced at Eijirou who also noticed the awkward tension that Hitoshi brought with him. “Are you okay?” you asked, turning your attention back to the purple-haired boy while your hands curled in your lap. “Yeah man, is something wrong?” Eijirou asked, leaning forward in his seat.
“No, I just…” he paused. “I uh, wanted to ask Y/n something…” or rather someone else wanted him to ask you something. “Ohhhh gotcha!” Eijirou replied enthusiastically, once again grinning. “I’ll just be going then,” he stood from his seat and turned to walk away.
“Oh!” he blurted out before turning to face Hitoshi again. “Before I do, I just gotta say I’m totally proud of you man. It’s super manly to confess to Y/n!” He rapidly slapped Hitoshi on the back and in return, he looked at Eijirou with a completely flustered expression.
“I-it’s not like that…” he muttered, glancing away. Meanwhile, you were just as shocked by Eijirou’s words. Hitoshi was a nice guy, or at least you thought he was. But there was nothing that you found romantically attractive about him.
“Heh, I get it man!” he replied, smacking Hitoshi's back once more. “Don’t want me to say it for you, that’s cool!” After all, he should leave you two lovebirds alone. He turned, waving you goodbye. “I’m gonna go find Bakugou,” he said with the biggest smile on his face before finally walking away.
“Good luck…” you half-heartedly replied. Everyone knew that Katsuki was a hot head, and part of you wondered just how Eijirou put up with him. “Um so…” you turned back to Hitoshi, slightly anxious about what he could want.
The purple-haired boy glanced down and rubbed the back of his head. For a moment you wondered if he was socially awkward but then he looked at you. His stare was slightly intimidating paired with those dark circles under his eyes.
“I…um…” he paused, uncertain if he should give away the whole plan by telling you that Neito wanted to meet in the confession tent. “Mm…” he internally debated with himself. There was no way he'd hear the end of it from that crazy blond if he arrived at the tent empty-handed.
Your heart pounded just a little faster, was Eijirou right? Did Hitoshi have feelings for you and was he trying to tell you that right now? You tried to come up with more logical reasons why he was having trouble speaking, but nothing came to mind.
“C-come with me,” he finally said, snapping you out of your trance. “W-what?” you asked partly out of shock while curling your hands into your chest. He didn’t reply, only motioned you to follow him, your heart pounded faster as you did as he asked.
‘There’s no way he’s going to confess, right!?’ you screamed inside your head, now curling your hands into the bottom of your shirt. ‘After all, we’ve barely even spoken…and yeah it is possible to like someone from a distance but…’ you glanced at the back of his head.
‘He doesn’t seem like the romantic type,’ or at least not in your opinion. “Um…” you glanced around, hearing the background noise of chatter and music fade as you transitioned into the confession area. Your stomach twisted when you passed by the several red-colored tents.
It was almost strange to think that each one of them had someone inside spilling their guts out to the one they loved. Frankly, you never thought you’d experience that. “Um…Shinso…are you-oh!” you stumbled when he came to a stop unexpectedly.
“Huh?” You blinked and looked at him for a few seconds before turning your head to see that you had stopped outside one of the larger tents the festival offered. “He’s in there,” Hitoshi turned around to face you and gestured to the tent.
You looked at him perplexed. “Huh, who? I…I t-thought you were…” you weakly pointed at him with your finger, but quickly lowered it when he shook his head. He then leaned over, opened the tent, and gestured for you to go inside.
Once more you looked at him with that same perplexed expression and slowly stepped inside the tent. Immediately a sweet scent hit your nose causing it to twitch. “Uh…why does it smell like vanilla in here?” you questioned, glancing at the heart-shaped lights hanging along the walls of the tent.
“Y/n!” a voice cried out, causing you to jump and immediately turn your head forward. You instantly recognized that blond hair and periwinkle-colored eyes. That anxious feeling all but disappeared and a certain rage that only Neito brought replaced it.
Your teeth ground together, and your hands curled into tight fists, “What the hell-” you quickly leaned back when he held out a silver tray. “Huh?” you blinked, staring at the array of heart-shaped chocolates that were on it.
“What is this?” you asked, glaring at him but he remained smiling. “They are special edition red velvet flavored filled chocolates, incredibly hard to find especially on such short notice. But I, of course, found them for you,” he declared with an ignorant smirk.
“Surely that’s more than those buffoons in Class A can do for you,” his words made you sigh. “Monoma…” you hissed through your teeth, placing one hand on your forehead. “We’ve been over this I don’t have-” he put down the tray and grasped onto your hand, seemingly in a panic.
This was not starting out how he wanted it to, but he’d be damned if he let you walk away from him. He wrapped his opposite arm around your waist, pulling you against him. “Monoma!” you angrily screamed, honestly it was a miracle he hadn't gotten beaten to a pulp yet.
“My name always sounds so beautiful when it leaves your lips, wouldn’t you agree?” A deep growl rumbled in your throat, and you continued to glare at him, wondering how he could continue to wear such a smug expression at this moment.
“Let go of me…and let me leave,” you half-heartedly demanded, trying to keep your temper in check. After all, it’s not like you could use your quirk. That would cause too much attention and result in panic. He chuckled at your words, and his grip on you tightened.
“I haven’t confessed to you yet. Furthermore, why would I let you go?” he questioned, leaning closer to allow the tips of your noses to touch. Then he turned his head slightly, allowing his lips to graze along your cheek before whispering into your ear.
“I don’t feel like sharing you with those Class A idiots,” and though you would refuse to admit it, his hushed voice caused you to flush. But you shook your head, trying to regain your composure. “You’ve already confessed, and I’ve rejected you every time!” you replied with a raised voice before rolling your eyes.
Neito was stubborn that much was clear, and more than likely he’d continue to chase you until he found someone else of interest. Then again, he wasn’t the type of person to have feelings for someone willy-nilly, and more than likely he’d continue to chase you until you either gave in or by some miracle returned his feelings.
Sure, maybe he’d make a good boyfriend. But he also seemed to have jealousy issues, if his earlier comment wasn’t enough of an indication of that and you weren’t sure how that would pan out in the long run. Of course, you had never actually given him a chance to see how he was on a date.
Another sigh came and with some regret, you said, “Fine…confess already…” while glancing to the side. It was best not to make eye contact with him. He grinned in victory, ‘They will not deny me this time!’ he thought, cradling your hands in his own.
You slowly turned your gaze back on him, watching him lower himself onto one knee with a smile. You often wondered if he thought that smile would make you fall for him, considering the only other time you saw him this happy was during training exercises.
“Dear Y/n, though fate separates us, and you belong to the enemy. I, Neito Monoma, your Phantom Thief will not allow this injustice to continue! I pledge to save you from the clutches of Class A and serve and protect you as a hero should!” you narrowed your eyes.
Sure, this may seem like a romantic speech to most, but you had heard it all before or at least all his confessions sounded similar. “Never will I give up on this dream, for I have fallen in love with you, and I will continue to fall deeper and deeper with each passing day!” he passionately exclaimed.
Then he pulled your hands forward, looking at you with a kicked puppy dog expression. “So please, say the words that rain from your heart and be mine!” You leaned your head back; Neito was always so dramatic. Pulling your hands away from his, you scoffed. “Are you done?” you asked before turning to walk out of the tent.
“Hey!” Neito cried out, once again panicking that his plans were falling apart at the seams. You ignored him and grasped the tent flap, pulling it back. “Y/n!” he shouted, causing you to briefly pause. “Hm?” You turned your head slightly but refused to look at him for now.
“If…if you’re going to leave,” not that he would let you or at least he’d try to prevent you from leaving despite the ache in his chest. “Then…then I demand the right to ask you for something despite your rejection!” he shouted, stomping his foot.
‘Huh, ask me something?’ you thought before hearing what sounded like the rustling of paper. You turned, looking over your shoulder to see that he was holding some kind of paper. Then he pointed to it, letting the tip of his finger tap against it.
“It’s required for the Red String Festival that even upon a refusal of a confession, the confessor has the right to ask the respondent something and they must honor it!” He declared, at least this part of his plan would work for sure, but it felt like a bolt of lightning hit you.
“Uh…w-what?” There was no way that was true, but even if it wasn’t you couldn’t risk dishonoring a request. Then again, you were only one step away from leaving him behind. Of course, you were also a hero student, and you knew it wouldn’t be right if you denied someone something or refused to help them.
In other words, he had you cornered and damn did that make you angry. Latching onto your lip, you growled and turned to glare at him. “You planned this…” you stated, watching him nod. “That’s right,” he replied, using that too-familiar smug tone.
He crossed his arms, grinning like mad. “Surely you didn’t think Class A could accomplish something like this!” he declared, once again making you roll your eyes. “Would you stop that already!?” you snapped, honestly that was getting old.
What the hell did he have against Class A?! Was he just sore that he wasn’t a part of it or what? Even Eijirou couldn’t stand Neito’s constant belittlement of Class A and he could make friends with anyone! You lowered your hands, letting them slap against your thighs.
“Fine!” you said, crossing your arms. If this stupid little request, he wanted was the only thing preventing you from leaving then you’d go through with it. “What is it that you want?” Neito grinned and grasped your shoulders, leaning forward to lock his eyes with yours.
“I want a kiss,” he boldly said. “What!?” you exclaimed, stumbling back and past the entrance of the tent only for him to grasp onto your arm and pull you forward again. You stumbled yet again, catching yourself on his shoulder with your opposite hand fisted into the front of his shirt.
Your heart was pounding in your chest and when you tilted your head up to look at him, that same smug smirk from before was across his face. He laid his hand on top of yours, not being bothered in the slightest that it was still twisted into the front of his shirt.
“Uh, I…” your voice suddenly vanished and that smirk of his turned into something of a content smile. “Close your eyes,” he instructed, and you stared at him a moment, wondering why you were feeling your stomach twist and flutter with butterflies.
Surely the idea of kissing Neito wasn’t that nerve-wracking, was it? “Mm…” you hesitated, but eventually did as he asked and closed your eyes. You could feel the way he slid his opposite hand along your hip, making your skin tense up.
Then he wrapped his arm around your waist, and unlike before you were more welcoming of it. You could feel his hot breath when he closed the distance between you and the soft touch of his lips grazing across yours.
“Mm…” out of instinct or maybe shyness, you sucked your lips inward making him chuckle. “It’s all right to be nervous, just keep your eyes closed and enjoy what only I can give you,” and hopefully it would make you more satisfied than anything your damned classmates could offer.
You swallowed hard and felt slightly ashamed that you were feeling nervous, to begin with, and embarrassed that somehow Neito knew. Then again, he had known you long enough and maybe he could tell just by your body language and actions how you felt. You took a deep breath, relaxing a bit.
However, your heart and stomach went haywire a few seconds later when his lips pressed against yours. You could faintly taste something minty and knew that more than likely he had either brushed his teeth or popped a breath mint before arranging this whole plan.
Either way, it wasn’t unwelcome, and you found yourself leaning against him, slightly deepening the kiss. Although you told yourself you were only doing it as a favor and this didn’t mean anything, you couldn’t deny the warmth that rushed through your body and the pleasantness of your heart feeling lighter than air.
You pulled away, gasping for air, and noticed your lips were tingling and whether that was due to the minty sensation or the pressure of his mouth against yours was unknown. But you were flushing and when you grasped your face, you could feel just how hot your cheeks were.
Neito immediately noticed this and chuckled. “See!?” he exclaimed, pointing at you. “Nobody from Class A could make you react in such a way!” For once you didn’t say anything, only looked at him with those slightly glossed-over eyes. Oh, how he could grow to adore this shy, flustered side of you.
But perhaps it was better to leave well enough alone…for now. “Until next time my dear Y/n,” he reached to take your hand, partly expecting you to pull away. Luckily you didn’t, and he took this chance to press his lips against your knuckles.
Then with another smirk, he turned and exited the tent. Now that you had fallen into his trap, he’d get you to chase him. Not that he was sadistic by any means, but it was clear that the kiss had meant something to you, and he'd use that to his advantage.
Scandalous? Perhaps. But even if it took the rest of forever, he’d call you his one day. How glorious would it be to rule by each other's sides as heroes feared by villains everywhere? And even if this little plan didn't work, the red string of fate would always bring you back to him.

A Fight for Humanity
The war plan had been precise and methodical, designed to keep Shigaraki from wreaking havoc. Monoma Neito had copied Kurogiri’s quirk, providing a crucial edge. The goal was simple: isolate Shigaraki and ensure Midoriya faced him alone, where One For All could make a difference. But, as plans often do, this one had gone awry. At the last second, Midoriya had been sucked into the wrong portal, leaving Bakugo, Luna, Suneater, Nejire, Mirko, Edgeshot, and Best Jeanist to keep Shigaraki at bay in the flying fortress.
Luna positioned herself high above the chaos in a sniper’s perch, hidden in the debris of the floating structures. Her heart was steady despite the carnage below. Her secret weapon—10 specialized bullets, a tool she had only hinted at in previous battles—was ready. Each one was meticulously crafted for a single target: Shigaraki. But he wasn’t alone. Aizawa and Monoma stood just outside the battlefield, their eyes locked on the monster before them, relentlessly canceling Shigaraki’s quirks.
The strain was palpable. Shigaraki’s body was far from ordinary—a horrifying mixture of flesh and power, twisted and altered by experiments to create the perfect vessel for All For One’s will. His quirk suppression was only temporary; his body was adapting, the quirks trying to push past the binds placed on them by Aizawa and Monoma. Neither dared blink, knowing that a moment of hesitation could lead to complete devastation.
"Don't let up!" Aizawa barked, his voice hoarse but sharp with urgency. His hair hung in wild strands, and his normally stoic composure was beginning to crack. Sweat beaded down his face, and his eyes were bloodshot from holding Shigaraki's quirk at bay. Every fiber of his being was focused on suppressing the onslaught of power within Shigaraki, but there was more on his mind than just the battle. His sister, Luna, was out there, risking everything.
From his vantage point, Aizawa caught glimpses of Luna moving like a ghost through the wreckage, her sniper rifle glinting in the fragmented light of the fortress. She was silent and focused. His heart clenched. He had always been protective of her, even after their paths had diverged into different branches of hero work. Now, as her adoptive brother, he felt the crushing weight of fear gnawing at him—a fear he hadn’t allowed himself to feel in years.
Meanwhile, Bakugo was a maelstrom of explosions below, each blast of his palms sending shockwaves through the already crumbling fortress. His eyes darted up to where Luna was perched, the fear for her safety barely contained beneath his usual scowl. She was like a sister to him—a constant, unwavering presence throughout their time together. He trusted her and respected her like no one else, but the thought of losing her twisted a knot in his gut.
“Damn it, Luna!” Bakugo’s voice crackled through the earpiece, his rage palpable. “What the hell are you waiting for? Take the shot!”
“I’m working on it, Kacchan,” Luna replied, her voice calm, though her heart was pounding. She adjusted her aim, searching for that fleeting moment of vulnerability.
“Keep it together, everyone,” Aizawa's gravelly voice broke in through the comms, though there was an undercurrent of tension in his tone. "We have to wear him down. Stay focused."
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, Luna saw her chance. Best Jeanist had caught Shigaraki with his threads, binding his arms and holding him in place for a split second. Luna’s eyes narrowed, her finger squeezing the trigger.
BANG!
The bullet cut through the air, a perfect shot aimed at Shigaraki’s chest. But just as it was about to hit, Shigaraki twisted his body in an almost impossible way, his raw strength tearing through the threads. The bullet missed by mere inches, embedding itself into the debris behind him.
“Shit!” Luna cursed, quickly reloading. She couldn’t afford to miss another shot—there were only nine left.
From the battlefield below, Shigaraki’s crimson eyes locked onto Luna’s position. His twisted smile grew wider as he raised his hand toward the building where she was perched.
From her vantage point, Luna locked her sights on Shigaraki. Her finger rested gently on the trigger, waiting for the perfect moment. The battlefield was chaotic, but she was patient. She had trained for this—no distractions, no hesitation. Her first bullet missed its mark, glancing off a piece of debris as Shigaraki’s erratic movements threw off her aim. Cursing softly, Luna adjusted her position. She had nine shots left.
Below, Shigaraki's body jerked, spasming under the suppression. His lips curled into a grotesque grin. "You think this will last?" His voice was distorted, almost inhuman, as he lashed out with a surge of raw power, his body shifting unnaturally. Aizawa and Monoma flinched, their combined efforts struggling to contain the quirk’s resurgence.
"Luna, now!" Aizawa’s voice cracked, a rare break in his composure. His shout echoed across the battlefield, a mixture of desperation and command.
Luna heard him and steadied her breath. She lined up her shot once more, this time aiming for the split second when Shigaraki’s movements would be predictable. The trigger pressed beneath her finger.
But before the bullet could reach its mark, the building around her groaned under the strain of the ongoing battle. Without warning, it collapsed, sending her and the sniper perch plummeting down in a cascade of debris. For a horrifying moment, everything seemed to move in slow motion.
Bakugo's heart stopped. He saw the crumbling structure before anyone else, his mind racing. “LUNA!” His voice ripped through the air as he charged toward the wreckage, explosions erupting in his wake. His anger flared brighter, fueled not by the battle but by fear—fear that he had lost her. He unleashed a torrent of energy, his fury palpable as he confronted Shigaraki with reckless abandon.
Bakugo’s rage reached a crescendo as he pushed through, launching himself directly at Shigaraki, who was still thrashing under the suppression. Luna couldn’t be gone. Not like this.
Shigaraki's laugh broke the moment as his body convulsed again, struggling to overcome the suppression.
Aizawa’s eyes burned, but his grip on Shigaraki’s power tightened, the flicker of fear for his sister now channeled into sheer resolve. He couldn’t protect her physically, but he would make sure Shigaraki never laid a hand on her.
"Don’t stop, Luna," Aizawa muttered under his breath, his voice too quiet for anyone but himself to hear. "I’m still here."
“I’ll blast you to pieces, you bastard!”
But even as Bakugo pushed himself beyond his limits, Shigaraki’s twisted grin never faltered. The villain easily dodged Bakugo’s attacks, his Decay eating away at the ground around him.
Amid the chaos, a voice crackled over Bakugo’s earpiece. Faint but unmistakable.
“Kacchan... calm down.”
Bakugo’s breath hitched, his body freezing mid-attack. His wild eyes darted to the collapsed building. There, emerging from the dust, was Luna. She was bruised, her uniform torn, but alive. Her sniper rifle was slung across her back, her expression focused despite the pain in her limbs.
Luna, forcing herself to stand, wiped the blood from her face and gripped her rifle once more. Seven bullets left. The fight wasn’t over.
“You idiot!” Bakugo shouted, relief mixing with his anger. “I thought you were—”
“No time for that,” Luna interrupted, wiping dirt from her face as she ran to reposition herself. “I’m not done yet. We’ve still got a job to do.”
Bakugo watched as Luna limped toward her new perch, his heart pounding with a mix of emotions—relief, anger, and a fierce determination to protect her no matter what.
“Luna,” he muttered, quieter this time, “don’t you dare pull a stunt like that again.”
Luna gave him a small, weary smile through the scope of her rifle. “I’ll try not to. Now, let’s finish this.”
With renewed resolve, Luna took aim once more. This time, she wouldn’t miss. She lined up the shot, watching as Shigaraki’s guard dropped ever so slightly as he engaged with the others. This was her moment.
“Bakugo, keep him distracted,” Luna instructed, her voice steady despite the pounding of her heart.
“On it,” Bakugo replied, launching himself back into the fray.
Luna’s finger tightened on the trigger. This shot had to count.

AU where Inko is the number one villain and AFO is a stay at home dad!
Oh my friend you made a mistake: not specifying to me who AfO is the stay at home dad of :)
1- So, Inko is the greatest supervillain of all time. Hisashi, her fire-breathing right hand, is a himbo who thinks she deserves to be a dark empress. Izuku is their son who's largely kept away from villainy: he knows about it, but he doesn't like it, and since he's quirkless, both assume he's too weak to risk getting hurt. He isn't vaulted, but he doesn't have a lot of freedom either.
2- Izuku is still smart though, and goes to a very good school with a very good library, where he can use the computers without much restriction- and he's able to research rumors about a vigilante who can take or give quirks, sought after by both villains, heroes, and the government. He's thought to be a legend, but Izuku knows he's real- his dad once tried to bring him to his mom, like twenty years ago, but he slipped away with his extra quirks and vanished.
3- Anyway, also at this very good school, others attend- including Neito Monoma, who's something of a kindred spirit. Izuku wants to be a hero, and Neito knows they won't ever be mainline, top tenners standing alone- but he doesn't see any reason why Izuku couldn't be a supporting hero if he tries. Their friendship develops, and they end up working on a science project together where they analyze quirks. Izuku knows his parents won't be home yet (and there's a chance when they return, it'll be blood splattered) so they go to Neito's home after school to keep working.
4- Neito's dad is home, and calls to ask if they want any snacks. They would love some, and Neito loudly explains the project as he gets something ready. When he comes into the room, he sees Izuku and almost drops the snacks- because AfO remembers well how Inko and Hisashi looked back when they'd almost dragged him off. He recovers, and quickly leaves the room, which Neito thinks is weird because usually his dad would love this kind of stuff. Izuku, who's seen that reaction before, keeps quiet and doesn't tell Neito that his dad is probably a villain who's terrified of Izuku's parents.
5- He does sneak back to the kitchen though when Neito goes to the bathroom, and AfO is clutching a knife the entire time. Izuku apologizes and says he doesn't want to be a villain like his parents, so AfO doesn't need to worry about his family. AfO cautiously asks him what he does want, and Izuku says to be a hero. He knows there's someone out there who can give him a quirk, but it's a long shot, and Neito thinks he's got a chance at heroics without one (if not a great chance). AfO thinks about how he doesn't particularly want his son to be a hero, thinks about his little brother, and sighs. "Heroism comes from the unlikeliest places." He says, and tells Izuku, "I don't know about finding a vigilante who can give any quirk, but i do know one hero who can. How would you like to meet All Might?"

The Void Calls Him
read it on AO3 at https://ift.tt/h97zMqH by ParanoidPotato “So we’re going to play it safe for the first play. Keep it careful while we figure out how Bakugou skates since he’s new to the team. Kaminari is our sub for this one so when we trade teams out one of us is gonna be on the bench for his team. Keep it out of the goal, Tokoyami.” Eijirou grinned bumping gloves with the beta. They had a strong start. The puck was theirs and passes were made with a practiced ease. Monoma was shouting at his team to get into the game. For lack of a better observation, Bakugou wasn’t trying to do more than block people from advancing. Todoroki got past him once or twice and Shinsou skated past without acknowledgement. Eijirou snapped the puck in Tetsu’s direction and made to cut Monoma off from interfering with them trying to take a shot at the goal. The entire rink went silent after the massive slam that rattled the plexiglass. Eijirou’s attention snapped toward Tetsu as Bakugou slapped the puck toward one of his teammates. “Might want to work on your balance,” Bakugou smirked at Tetsu as he skated off. AKA Bakugou fought tooth and nail to play on a hockey scholarship, but his mother's determination to make him into a mirror image of her haunts him.
