I think out of everyone in the party chilchuck and laios would be the most miserable out of dungeon.

laios is obvious. he didn't have any solid dreams in life or a career path. he doesn't like interacting with overs and he loves monsters.

it's easy for him to fantasize about falin's future life but he doesn't talk about himself at all

look how young he was when he left home! and of all things to do he picked army - a no brainer decision, clear choice without the need to think for yourself

before being reunited with falin laios was truly miserable. because the only goal in his mind was "get more money". But when he started traveling with his sister not only it helped his mental state but also he found his niche.

and laios is a good party leader! finally, something for him. like falin and her magic, he has the dungeon. it's both the thing that laios like and something that pays money too - the whole "find a job you'll like and you'll never work" nonsense.

chilchuck on the outside seems.. not that interested. and he'll probably will find something to occupy himself with - maybe the union thing or opening a shop. but. lockpicking IS his hobby.

yeah, I bet chilchuck is meticulous about it because the whole party quite literally can die if he's not careful enough. but it's clear that he enjoys it too.

and the thing is... i bet it's miserable to be surrounded by people with all of his heightened senses. sure dungeon has it's monsters but still it's not as loud as a city full of tall men

I'm sure both of them would be fine, at least at this point in life - they have family and friends and well, you can always pick another hobby and a new interest.

but

it's like they were cherry picked for their roles and they fit it's so so perfect it's hard to even imagine them in different scenarios

Digging through the brush, she eventually finds the source of the sound.

A shiny nidoran growls at her, defending her male partner. He trembles behind her, clearly paralyzed.

Sarah kneels down beside them, taking out a cheri berry.

She waits as the female sniffs the berry, before taking it and giving it to the male. There you go!

The two glance at her, as she’s about to walk off. Sorry guys, I’ve got places to be. The two follow her for a few steps, I’ve got a wedding to go to.

She glances at them again, Actually. If you want to, of course, maybe you can come with me? I’m sure Giovanni and Rose will treat you well, but if you don’t want to go with them, you don’t have to either…

She digs into her bag and holds out two luxury balls, You’ll stay together, I promise!

They exchanged a look, before each tapped one ball with their nose.

A quick jog later, and Sarah grinned excitedly. We’ve got our gifts!

Of course she just found something along the way.

A few days ago, while scrolling through social media, you came across a video of a little baby. Her giggles warmed your heart, and sent you down a long rabbit hole and into a spiral of lasting baby fever.

You sauntered into the kitchen where Oscar was cooking breakfast. Your hands wrapped around his torso, your head rested on his shoulder.

He smiled, a sight that brightened your day and definitely did not help with your daydreams about him as a father. “Good morning.” He greeted. The sleep hadn’t yet worn off, leaving his voice a little rough.

“Morning.” You sighed, snuggling your head into the curve of his neck.

“What’s up, baby?” He asked, a hand snaking it’s way down your arm before lacing his fingers with yours.

Humming, swaying, you were in your own world. In your mind, you imagined a mini version of the both of you sitting in a high chair not far from where you stood. “We should have a baby.”

It was a harsh bomb to drop so early in the morning. In your haze, you hadn’t realized that.

“What? No.” He laughed.

You frowned and pulled away from him.

He began to panic. “No, wait-“

“No. No it’s okay. Stupid idea anyway.” You mumbled, slow steps creating distance between the two of you. You retreated to the bedroom. He would’ve followed you if it weren’t for the food on the stove.

As soon as he finished up and plated the food, he rushed to the bedroom. He found you on the bed, under the sheets, curled in a ball.

He sat beside you, a comforting hand on your back. “I’m sorry. That came out wrong.” He apologized. You said nothing. “I’d love nothing more than to make a mini us and see it run around the house, but right now… it’s not a good time.” He shook his head, though you couldn’t see it.

“But he’d be so cute.” You blubbered.

Oscar paused. “Are you crying?” He hesitated to reach out.

You flipped around to face him. “Yes!” You sniffed. “Because- because- imagine it. He’d look just like you and I can dress him like you and take him to races—or her! And you’d look so cute holding a mini us.”

Hands found their way around your body and he pulled you into him. “I know, you’d be such a cute mom. Maybe later but I just don’t want to miss everything. We’re still young.” He ran a hand through your hair while you continued to cry, not liking his answer.

“You’ll be racing until you’re forty!” You sobbed. “And what if I’m not able to have kids by then! I could be fresh out of eggs!” You clutched onto his shirt.

“I don’t want to wait until we’re forty, either. Maybe just a couple more years.”

You sniffled. “I think I’m pmsing.” It would explain the emotional response, and the intense baby fever.

Oscar didn’t say anything, he only chuckled.
